New Official Battlefield Labs Video Shows Bad Company 2 Levels of Destruction

[summaraize]

As Battlefield Labs testing continues, DICE has issued another community update to keep non-testers in the loop. This one should make many fans happy, as it’s entirely focused on the scale of destruction, with them sharing an early look at just how chaotic things can get.

Bad Company and Bad Company 2 veterans will undoubtedly love what they’re about to see.

DICE Shows Off an Early Look at the Scale of Destruction for the Next Battlefield Game

As shared on X, DICE has issued a new community update for Battlefield Labs, this time focusing on the scale of destruction. What used to be a staple feature in the Battlefield franchise, the series has undergone significant downgrades in terms of destruction, with Battlefield 2042 being perhaps the lightest we’ve seen. It seems that DICE is finally listening to the community, as the newest Labs video (which you can watch above) demonstrates just how advanced destruction can be in the latest Battlefield game.

Although this isn’t a representation of the final product, DICE shared in the post that they’re aiming to make destruction an integral part of the franchise.

“Our goals for destruction are centered around adding further gameplay depth by allowing you to reshape the environment and transform your surroundings toward a tactical advantage. For example, barging through walls to surprise your enemies, reshaping the battlefield to create new paths into the capture zones, or taking down a building to take out an attacking squad.

We’re designing destruction around easily identifiable visual and audio language that lets you understand what can be destroyed, altered, or transformed through gameplay.

We aim to make destruction an integral part of your Battlefield experience to create an intuitive, fun, and rewarding environment where you feel empowered to shape the world around you.”

It’s more than just throwing an explosive and seeing things go boom, though, as the team explains that there will be visual cues showing structure degrading after taking enough damage to indicate that it can be destroyed. Players will also be able to create more destruction-related opportunities during gameplay, such as creating holes to shoot from and using the surrounding walls as cover. With rubble now remaining on the battlefield, players will even be able to use it as extra cover. Floors can be blown up, allowing you to quickly descend to a lower level of a building, and even expose enemies without facing them head-on.

Now we’re not sure if the destruction will allow us to level entire maps, like in the Bad Company line of Battlefield games, as DICE is using Labs to understand a few key things (listed below). Some of which are which environments can and can’t be destroyed.

  • Understanding which environments can or cannot be destroyed and which type of firepower is required for different material types
  • The impact of collateral damage from debris and destructible elements
  • Tactical use of destruction to create new pathing or persistent environments
  • Balancing the ecosystem of damage through firepower and destruction

So I’ll go on a limb here and say it won’t be on the full scale of Bad Company 2, but based on the video above, it’s pretty up there, and looks to be the most destruction in a Battlefield game since the last entry (Bad Company 2) in the series.

I don’t know about you guys, but this news excites me, and I cannot wait to see how DICE pulls it off in the next Battlefield game. The wait for that won’t be too long either, as it’s expected to arrive between now and March 2026.

Rematch Open Beta Kicks Out Today on PC

[summaraize]

Ahead of its June release, Slowclap, the studio behind indie hit Sifu, is hosting a public open beta for their upcoming online action football game, Rematch.

It may not be the traditional type of game we are used to seeing from Slowclap, but trust me, once you’ve tried it, you’ll understand why this might just be one of 2025’s biggest hits.

Slowclap Brings Their Exciting Approach to Gameplay to the World of Football

Fans of Football (Soccer in America) might want to keep a close eye on Rematch, a new IP developed by the creators of Absolver and Sifu. While many were hoping to see Slowclap do a follow-up to Sifu, they instead decided to go in a completely different direction, creating an online competitive sports game this time. As far out there as that may sound for them, once you actually try the game out for yourself, you’ll come to understand that this isn’t just like every other sports game out there, as Slowclap unique spin on movement and essentially combat adds a level of depth that sports game have needed for a long time. In a lot of ways, it’s like Rocket League, with all the wackiness and crazy maneuvers you can pull off, mixed in with a touch of kung fu.

And there’s some great news for PC gamers, as an open beta is now available for everyone! That means you can see what all the fuss is about for yourself! Trust me (I’ll have my full preview up later); it’s loads of fun. The open beta is available on Steam and will only be live for this weekend (April 18-19).

Palworld Update 1.069.802 Released on PS5 to Fix Rollback Save Data Issue

[summaraize]

Following the release of v0.5.4 patch on all platforms yesterday that aimed to ficx the autosave issues the game is experincing, Pocketpair Inc. has released another one today, and it’s to fix another issue with save data, though it’s a different one from the autosave issue.

The studio has released Palworld update 1.069.802 on PS5, and this is to fix an issue where save data rollback — a problem that surfaceed from yesterday’s patch.

Palworld PS5 Rollback Save Data Issue Targeted in Patch 1.069.802

Palworld Update v0.2.4.0 Patch Notes

Here’s what’s new per the developers:

[PS5 Patch v0.5.4.69802]

  • After the v0.5.4 update, some users were confirmed to be experiencing an issue where save data was rolling back unexpectedly.
  • We have now implemented additional measures to address this issue, correcting the save function and the save data restoration when using the backup function.

That’s about it. Hopefully, this gets fixed after one patch, and doesn’t need multiple updates like the autosave issue did. If you’re still experiencing it, leave a cmment below and let us know, so that other players are aware of it as well.

Note that this patch was released specifically for the PS5, so users on Xbox and PC should not be prompted to download anything.

Diablo 4’s First External Crossover Is With a Legendary Manga

[summaraize]

Today, Blizzard announced the first-ever external IP crossover for Diablo 4, and it’s none other than the highly acclaimed dark fantasy manga series, Berserk.

The crossover event is also coming to Diablo Immortal.

Cue the Berserk OST – 04 Guts Track

As confirmed on the official Diablo X account, the world of Berserk is crossing over into the world of Diablo. There isn’t a whole lot we know about this collaboration yet, but we do know that both Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal will feature it. It could involve new skins, armor, and weapons, or it could be a whole new story quest featuring demons from the series, or possibly all of that. Who knows? Well, I suppose Blizzard does, but they’re holding onto those details for now.

Now, for those unfamiliar with Berserk, it’s an ongoing dark fantasy manga that debuted in 1987, with parts of it adapted into two anime series. I highly recommend giving the series a read, though if you prefer watching something, try the 1997 TV series instead. Be warned, though—it’s not for the faint of heart, featuring some of the most violent scenes in anime, especially for its time.

Sadly, the original manga creator, Kentaro Miura, passed away in 2021 without completing the series, although it has since been continued by Miura’s friend, Kouji Mori.

We should have more details on this crossover real soon, so keep an eye out! Oh, and in case you missed it, be sure to check out the 2025 roadmap for Diablo 4.

Xbox Boss Phil Spencer Won’t Commit to Indiana Jones Game Sequel, But Says “There Is Life” in Franchise

[summaraize]

While Microsoft hasn’t commented on Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s commercial performance, the action-adventure game will see a huge boost in sales thanks to its release on PS5 starting today.

Could we see a sequel announced sometime soon? Based on recent comments from Xbox division boss Phil Spencer, that seems like a genuine possibility.

Xbox’s Phil Spencer “Really Happy” With Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Players and Reception

In an interview with entertainment publication Variety, Spencer was asked about the larger plans they have to update the game, and as well as seeing it as a potential franchise.

While Spencer’s answer didn’t outright confirm a sequel, it was still quite telling. “I will say, we’re really happy with ‘Indy’ and the players and the reception. We do think there’s life in that franchise, and I’m just gonna leave it at that. We’re launching on PlayStation here pretty soon. I think that’ll be a cool moment. I was really inspired by Machine Games taking someone else’s IP and doing something so unique, and I’m inspired about what that team can do next. Certain people were kind of pushing them on the first person versus third person. And I think once you play it, you realize you are Indy. But going forward, I also want to give the teams the ability to do our own games and our own franchises. We have a lot of room to tell new stories, as well. And I want to make sure that’s an option for us,” Spencer said.

That seems like an almost-confirmation, right? The last update we had when it comes to the game’s player success, is Microsoft confirming the game has managed to hit over four million players on Xbox and PC. With the game’s release on PS5, that number will surely skyrocket, unless PS5 gamers have an aversion to great action games.

To date, MachineGames’ debut Indiana Jones game has a “Mighty” rating on Open Critic, and an 86 score average on Metacritic. Our review, which dives more into its technical comparisons to the Xbox Series X version, was also quite glowing.

The next thing gamers can look forward to about the game is its The Order of the Giants DLC, which has no release date for now.

New FBC: Firebreak Trailer Is All About the Hazards of theJob

[summaraize]

Someone better call OSHA, because I’m pretty sure members of the Firebreak team just broke several safety and health violations. I suppose that’s part of the job when dealing with paranormal entities within the Oldest House, as the newest trailer for FBC: Firebreak is all about the different kinds of environmental hazards that you’ll definitely encounter as you try to fend off against the forces of evil.

Thankfully, team Firebreak is well-equipped to handle just about anything, even if it’s not entirely up to code.

Fires, Exposed Electrical Wiring, Spinning Blades of Death, Sticky Notes, and Pink Goo

Joking aside, FBC: Firebreak is looking pretty good, though you’d have already gotten that from my early hands-off impression that I shared last month.

Though the trailer is short, towards the end of it, Remedy does reveal that they will be hosting a special livestream on April 24, which will feature brand new content and “exciting news.” Could they be teasing a potential public playtest before the Summer release? Or perhaps this is related to an exact release date? Guess we’ll find out next week!

FBC: Firebreak will be releasing this Summer on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. For more on the game, make sure to check out our exclusive interview with the studio about the development of FBC: Firebreak.

Destiny 2 Update 3.58 Delivers Patch 8.2.5.5

[summaraize]

Bungie has rolled out the latest Destiny 2 update 3.58,  which the developers tag as 8.2.5.5 across platforms. This update focuses on adjustments to the Court of Blades activity, specifically improving the difficulty of Lucent Hive bosses, and also includes some important weapon fixes.

If you’re playing on current-gen consoles, this will show up as Destiny 2 update 1.153 (complete version number: 1.153.000) . Below are the full patch notes for this update.

Destiny 2 Update 8.2.5.5 Brings Adjustments to Court of Blades and Weapon Fixes

Destiny 2

Activities

Seasonal

Court of Blades

  • Responding to feedback about Lucent Hive weeks in the Expert rotator having out-of-band difficulty compared to the other factions:
    • Reduced health on Lucent Hive Guardian bosses.
    • On Expert, Lucent Hive Guardian bosses now have their Super abilities disabled until they are below 33% health.
    • In cases where multiple Lucent Hive Guardian bosses are present at once, only one gets its Super ability re-enabled.
    • Removed Lucent Hive Knights from the randomized fodder selection due to their ability to cause difficulty spikes on Expert.

Gameplay and Investment

Weapons

Weapon fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Rocket Sidearms were not dealing self-damage.
  • Fixed an issue where Support Frame Auto Rifles were not applying their intrinsic elemental effects during Sundered Doctrine’s second encounter.

And that’s all for Destiny 2 Update 8.2.5.5. It’s a small update, mainly fixing balance issues in Court of Blades and a few weapon bugs. It follows Update 8.2.5.4, which was also minor but fixed things like the issue with Vesper’s Dungeon puzzle and made adjustments to weapons and perks.

Once Bungie has another patch released, we’ll have it up on the site.

“Project Impact” Is the New Game From The Ascent Developers, and Here’s What We Know of This First-Person Cyberpunk Game So Far

[summaraize]

Neon Giant, the developers behind The Ascent, has announced they are working on a first-person, next-generation cyberpunk immersive sim, first-person, tentatively codenamed “Project Impact.”

We recently sat down with the co-founders and creative directors at Neon Giant, and although they’re keeping things close to their chests, we have some fresh details on the project, including some first-look teaser screenshots.

What We Learned About Neon Giant’s “Project Impact”

So, what exactly is Project Impact? Well, that was a question we recently got to ask the developers of The Ascent, Neon Giant, who’ve been working on this brand-new IP for some time now. There wasn’t much to “share” as the project seemed pretty early in development, though in our closed briefing with the studio, we learned a bit about Project Impact and looked at some early screenshots and the studio’s goal and ambitions for the project.

The short of it is that Project Impact is a first-person open-world game set in the fictional location of Port Desire (not to be confused with Puerto Deseado, Argentina), in a Cyberpunk setting. Although the studio has yet to set a date for when the game takes place, they did tell us to expect a far more grounded world and narrative approach than in their previous project, The Ascent.

The team will be leveraging Unreal Engine 5 for this project and is describing it as a very ambitious “step up” from The Ascent. Despite being a different genre than The Ascent, in a lot of ways, Project Impact is a return to form for the studio as many of its devs previously worked on first-person shooters before The Ascent, with both co-founders and creative directors Arcade Berg and Tor Frick having previously worked at MachineGames on the Wolfenstein franchise.

The name “Project Impact,” which is a codename, has a few meanings, not just for the game but also for the studio. For the game, we were told that the studio wanted to create something with a lot of interactivity and a goal of making players feel like they would impact the world. This suggests that we’ll likely get some sort of decision-making with multiple branches, though that wasn’t directly confirmed to us. The team also mentioned that they’re trying to add a lot of extra “oomph” and “impact” to elements like animation, sound, and special effects to help deliver an extra sense of force for the title. As a studio, it functions as a design mantra for the game, with Neon Giant looking to make an impact in the industry with Project Impact.

Check out the first screenshots provided to us by Neon Giant:

Much inspiration for the game will be drawn from comics, books, music, and film. However, the studio stressed that, although the game will incorporate some tropes from the Cyberpunk genre, it is not beholden to any specific source. This is their world; they get to choose how to build it and tell its story. Undoubtedly, with the words used to describe what the game is so far, many may already think this is going to be a Cyberpunk 2077 clone of sorts. We asked the studio to comment on this, and they quickly shot down the comparisons, describing this project as a game that doesn’t exist yet, which is why they’re making it, as it’s the kind of game they believe should exist.

A dream project, one that Krafton, which acquired Neon Giant in 2022, fully believes in. Neon Giant explained to us that, despite being under the wing of a much larger company, it retains creative control over its projects. Only staff from Neon Giants are working on developing their games. In many ways, the independent mindset they previously had remains, allowing them to navigate development their way. A system the studio believes will help them make better and more fun games, something we’ll hopefully see in action once Project Impact is ready to be shown.

As I mentioned before, Project Impact is fairly early in development, with over 24 employees (which doesn’t strictly mean developers) at Neon Giant working on the title, double of what they had when they shipped The Ascent. There’s no target release window or confirmed platforms at this time.

As if HexWorks’ excellent post-release support of Lords of the Fallen can’t get any better, the studio has now released Lords of the Fallen update 1.070, and this is for the big version 2.0 patch!

This is possibly the game’s biggest update to date, and it introduces a ton of new features and upgrades to the Souls-like. Possibly the biggest new addition is the Friend’s Pass, which lets players share the game with a buddy!

There are also gameplay upgrades, full shared progression and a lot more.

Here’s what’s per what HexWorks has sent MP1st

FREE FRIEND’S PASS

  • All players have free access to the character creator and entire tutorial area base game
  • Following tutorial completion, players can experience the entire adventure in online co-op when playing with a friend who owns the base game. Character progress and loot are saved between sessions
  • Only the host retains world progression

FULL SHARED PROGRESSION & CROSS-PLAY CO-OP

  • Both players save all mainline story progress when on the same ‘New Game’ playthrough having killed a similar number of main bosses (within one)
  • Defeated bosses and lit beacons persist in both worlds
  • Both players can revive each other
  • Both players collect 100% vigor and all loot

IMPROVED COMBAT AND MOVEMENT

  • Fully revamped combat system for more precise weapon handling
  • Refined lock-on mechanics ensure intuitive enemy targeting
  • Dedicated jump button for improved platforming
  • New Umbral Lamp guidance mechanic highlighting the path forward through Mournstead
  • Upgraded movement with improved mobility, faster evasions, and more responsive controls
  • Full weapon audio overhaul for a richer, more impactful soundscape, amplifying every swing, parry, and block
  • New grievous strike button prompts

VISUAL AND TECHNICAL UPGRADES

  • Enhanced character creator with improved facial options, skin textures, and body shapes
for both male and female models
  • Revamped UI for a cleaner, easier-to-navigate interface
  • An all-new guidebook allowing players to reference previous tutorial prompts at any time

Unless HexWorks has more up its sleeve, this should be the last major update for Lords of the Fallen based on what the studio has shared earlier this year.

The sequel is in development and is expected to be released sometime next year.

  • Fixed an issue that would cause the outside temperature to remain the same after using the weather change wish.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause a persistent muffled sound when leaving a map with an active parabolic microphone.

In terms of known issues that are still there after applying today’s patch, players might still encounter lighting issues across various maps during the Cursed Hollow event. Expect another patch from Kinectic to be released to resolve that at some point.

Lords of the Fallen Is Taking a Page Right Out of Hazelight Studios’ Book With New Feature

[summaraize]

Lords of the Fallen players, the day has finally come as CI Games has just released version 2.0, overhauling several aspects and adding many new features. Amongst the new though is perhaps the biggest and most unexpected surprise, and a first-time for the genre, and that’s the addition of the Friend’s Pass.

Nope, you did not read that wrong, as it’s now entirely possible to play Lords of the Fallen with another person, even if they don’t own the game.

It Takes Two to Slay

Lords of the Fallen Friend's Pass

When Hazelight Studios launched their first game, A Way Out, in 2018, one of its unique aspects was that it had a feature called the “Friend’s Pass.” For those unfamiliar, the Friend’s Pass allowed someone who had ownership of the game to freely invite someone to co-op with them, even if they didn’t own the copy of the game. Given the type of game A Way Out was, and Hazelight’s follow-ups, It Takes Two, and Split Fiction, the feature made a lot of sense, since the game required another person to play with. Since then, however, it’s been the only studio to do it, as many other cooperative games either only support local play or require another copy.

Well, that’s all changing today, as CI Games becomes one of the first studios to adopt the model and certainly the first in its genre. With the release of version 2.0, Lords of the Fallen now features the Friend’s Pass, allowing anyone with a copy of the game to play co-op with anyone, regardless of platform, even if they don’t own the game.

The way it works is that the player you’re inviting will download the Friend’s Pass version of the game (which is essentially the whole game), create their character, and complete the full tutorial area, where they will be able to join someone with access to the full game for online co-op. That’s really all there is, though it does come with some restrictions for the person who isn’t the host.

  • All players have free access to the character creator and entire tutorial area base game
  • Following tutorial completion, players can experience the entire adventure in online co-op when playing with a friend who owns the base game. Character progress and loot are saved between sessions
  • Only the host retains world progression

This does likely mean that the person playing with Friend’s Pass probably won’t be able to earn achievements, at least when it comes to progression-related ones, since that’s tied to the host. Still, it’s a fair trade-off in my opinion for something that you’ll be able to play entirely for free, and at least character progress and loot are saved, so you aren’t losing everything entirely.

Talk about unexpected! This will no doubt get a ton of new players to want to give it a go, and may even encourage some new purchases. Which, if you do end up buying, or are on the fence about it, CI Games is currently running a special promotion across every major storefront that sees the game nearly 70% off on every platform. Well worth the purchase, especially with everything else added with today’s update.

PlayStation Spring Sale (April 9th – April 23rd):

  • Standard Edition: 72% off at $19.60
  • Deluxe Upgrade Pack (from Standard to Deluxe): 72% off at $5.60

Xbox Spring Sale (April 17th – May 1st):

  • Standard Edition: 70% off at $20.99, also included in Game Pass
  • Deluxe Edition: 70% off at $23.99

Steam Custom Sale (April 17th – May 1st):

  • Standard Edition: 67% off at $19.80
  • Deluxe Edition: 67% off at $23.10

Epic Games Store Savings (April 10th – April 24th):

  • Standard Edition: 67% off at $19.80
  • Deluxe Edition: 67% off at $23.10

With Version 2.0 now out, CI Games looks to the future with a sequel to Lords of the Fallen, which is currently slated for 2026.

Tower Raid — new weapons and rewards

The latest patch introduces an expanded arsenal with the addition of 27 new weapons (including 24 Elemental Weapons and 3 Elemental Pistols you asked for as well), each offering unique capabilities and strategic advantages, encouraging players to explore and adapt their gameplay styles. In tandem with this, the rewards have been updated, offering an array of enticing exclusive skins and other items. Co-op improvements

In the Spring Update, you’ll experience a slew of enhancements designed to elevate your co-op experience. We have addressed and resolved various enemy behavior issues affected by synchronization between players. This intends to ensure smoother gameplay and reduced discrepancies, including the amount of enemies teleporting and lagging.

The HUD has also received substantial improvements, providing clearer visual cues and streamlined access to vital information, ultimately enhancing situational awareness with multiple players on screen.

We’re not stopping here, though! The co-op feature remains a key focus, and we’ve been making steady progress on it over the past few months. Our commitment to enhancing it will continue into the future.

Visual Mods tool

Ever wished you could change a specific detail in Villedor? Add a splash of color here, or add a darker, moodier atmosphere there? Look no further as we’re thrilled to introduce a new visual mods tool to Dying Light 2 Developer Tools. Currently available for PC, it offers a wide range of customization options, allowing players to modify textures in the environment, on weapons and even clothing. While visual mods are only available on PC for now, we’re hard at work making them available on consoles soon to encourage the entire community to get even more creative!
