Black Ops’ Sgt. Frank Woods Actor Puts the Kibosh on Anything Related to Treyarch & Black Ops

modern warfare black ops

True to his word, James C. Burns or more famously known as the voice actor behind Sgt. Frank Woods from the Call of Duty: Black Ops series, hosted a livestream today where he fielded fan questions.

Given we’re supposed to be getting a Black Ops reboot of some sort as this year’s Call of Duty, it’s understandable that fans assumed that he’s somehow involved. Well, it seems he’s not. In the stream Burns elaborates on three key points namely:

I have not shot anything. I am not in negotiations to shoot something, and I’m no longer in contact with anyone from Treyarch itself.

He stresses “I don’t know,” and that the only one he’s in contact with is their (Treyarch/Activision) PR department.

Well, that settles it then. Regardless if Treyarch is pushing ahead with a Black Ops reboot, Burns is not part of it — at least from what’s shared. There is a chance he’s talking out of his ass, but it doesn’t seem like it. Maybe if there is a Black Ops reboot, Treyarch is going with someone else or Frank Woods is written out of it entirely? Your guess is as good as mine at this point.

If there’s a Black Ops reboot, do you want someone else to voice Frank Woods or would you be OK with the character being taken out entirely? Let us know your thoughts down below.

I just hope that if they do a Black Ops reboot, they contain it to the Vietnam era at least for the first game.

I liked 3 despite what a lot of people thought of it, but I would prefer it just stays Vietnam, no era hopping

Most likely that’s the case, no? Assuming rumors are legit.
