Cronos: The New Dawn Devs Explain Why You Can’t Just Kill Enemies Haphazardly

[summaraize]

Bloober Team, the development studio behind the Silent Hill 2 remake for Konami, is concocting their own survival horror game based on a new IP titled Cronos: The New Dawn. Although it draws inspiration from many familiar titles in the genre, the studio is aiming to keep things fresh with an interesting new mergering mechanic, that sees enemies absorbing one another to become stronger in other to keep the stakes rather high.

To tell us more about this, the studio released a new deep dive video that not only gives us a deeper look into the merging mechanic, but also the core combat of Cronos: The New Dawn.

What’s Dead May Never Die

For those who prefer to read instead of watch, here’s a summary of everything talked about in the video (via Shinobi)

  • In addition to careful resource management, enemies can merge with each other during battle, potentially radically altering each encounter and ‘exponentially increasing its difficult in real-time’
  • Orphans (the game’s enemies) become more resilient after merging and have new attack patterns
  • Adds complexity to combat because by killing Orphans, you’re effectively ‘providing fuel’ to other nearby enemies
  • Most enemies are capable of merging, goal is stop them at all costs
  • Spatial awareness is critical, spacing out kills, lure enemies away from fallen bodies, use environments to your advantage, interrupt merging attempts mid-fight
  • Javelin: Rapid-fire capacity, perfect for crowd control
  • Hammer: Deals heavy damage at close range, ideal for finishing off tough enemies before they can merge
  • “Doppelganger” is an enemy with a variety of types like runners that rush towards you, others have ranged attacks, and ‘bruisers’ are heavy and durable and can soak up damage
  • Others are more sneaky or act as traps for the player
  • There are also special enemies that only appear in certain locations
  • Weapons, tools, and your suit are upgradeable, such as firepower, stability, charge speed, reload, etc
  • One tool is a weapon scanner you can acquire that tells you how much health enemies have left
  • There are bosses in the game, studio will share more on those at a later date

So far, Cronos is looking rather impressive, and we cannot wait to see what the final game looks like. Luckily, the release is just a few short months away, as Cronos: The New Dawn is set to release in Fall 2025.

Our First Look at Battlefield 6’s Factions Are a Breath of Relief Since There’s No Goofy-Looking Operators

[summaraize]

Are you tired of seeing goofy operators in military shooters? If so, the initial images of Battlefield 6’s factions should make you happy somewhat, as there’s none of that to be found. Mind, that doesn’t mean EA can’t add it as part of post-release skins, but for now, we’ll take this as a victory.

Similar to anything related to the new Battlefield, these images are from Battlefield Labs, which is currently being playtested in a closed environment. The game is in a pre-alpha state for now, so there is a chance that whatever we see could change from now to release.

New Battlefield Game Factions Early Look

The factions listed so far include:

• United Albion – Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, UK
• Coyote Squad – 91st Cavalry Regiment, US
• The Desert Locusts – 47th Infantry Regiment, US

Check out our first look at the factions:

We are assuming these aren’t the complete factions the new Battlefield game will feature, and as I’ve said previously, this doesn’t guarantee we won’t see goofy skins as part of the game’s Battle Pass or in-game store. For some reason, people really want to look as stupid as they can in multiplayer shooters.

As long as we don’t have cartoon characters and whatnot appearing in the game I’m OK. I’m expecting EA collaboration skins to be sold, but as long as they’re done tastefully, I don’t think the majority of gamers would mind.

Last week, we posted our first look at Battlefield 6’s campaign, which was a work-in-progress where assets weren’t even in place yet.

Despite not hearing anything about it yet, EA has assured gamers that the new Battlefield game will be revealed this summer.

  • Fixed a graphical issue in the Forge Titan.

  • General fixes.
  • General polishing.

We’re unsure whether it’s because the console versions don’t need the PC fixes, whether it’ll be implemented on another patch, but the disparity between changelogs is a bit odd to say the least. If MercurySteam makes any announcements, we’ll have it up on the site.

Civilization 7’s Latest Update 1.2.2 Released on June 23 Brings It to Version 1.000.011 on Consoles

The latest major update for Civilization 7 is now live on consoles and PC! This is what Firaxis calls patch 1.2.2, and this brings support for Large and Huge map sizes all the game’s map types, advanced game options and more.

For those on consoles, this will appear as Civilization 7 update 1.000.011/1.09, and has the same patch notes as its PC counterpart.

For the complete changelog, head on below, but do note that it’s a long read.

Civilization 7 New Features, Improvements Added in Update 1.2.2

Gameplay

New Advanced Game Options

[★ – Community Influenced Item] Added an option to pick and choose which Legacy Paths are enabled per Age.

Dev Note: We wanted to give players options for how they could customize their game by allowing them to turn off Legacy Paths of their choice, and allowing them to disable the Score Victory. Note that if you turn off all Legacy Paths, and disable the Score Victory, you can still win the game with a Domination Victory by eliminating all other leaders. We think this change should allow for a cool sandbox experience through the Ages! (Please note that currently these options are only available in Single-player, but we plan to add these to Multiplayer in the future.)

Nuclear Fission Tech is added to the Modern Age, so players can still use nukes without completing the Military Legacy Path.

[★] Added an option to disable the Score Victory.

[★] Added a new “Custom” AI Difficulty setting that allows the player to choose difficulty options specific for each value.

Dev Note: With this update, you can set any of the AI bonuses to any level you want individually. Don’t like the economic bonuses the AI has on Deity, but enjoy the challenge in combat? Now you can set up a game to do exactly that!

[★] Added an option to pick and choose which Crises you want on or off in your game.

Dev Note: We’ve always allowed for Crises to be entirely on or off, but wanted to give you the added control to pick and choose which Crises you want to see. If you have more than one Crisis enabled for an Age, then the game will randomly choose one from the pool of enabled Crises.

[★] Added an option to Bypass Civilization Unlocks, allowing players to choose any civ for the next Age at Age Transition regardless of any unlock requirements.

[★] Added an option to control initial Independent Power hostility. Settling within 5 tiles of an Independent Power will still cause them to become hostile.

Dev Note: Starting near multiple hostile IPs can make for a challenging early game, but sometimes you just want some space to build out your Capital.

Land-Based Treasure Convoys

[★]  Treasure Fleets are growing legs! These will now be called Treasure Convoys, and you’ll be able to use them over land and not just the sea. Any Distant Lands Settlement with improved Treasure Resources now generates Treasure Convoys and no longer requires Coastal access, a Fishing Quay, or the Shipbuilding Tech.

Dev Note: The Treasure Fleet Legacy path, specifically the gameplay around gathering Resources not immediately available to your empire, is a fun collection minigame for players that like to play the map. While we’ve improved Resource placement further, the steps required to progress this Legacy Path were still quite restrictive and often forced linear play patterns instead of asking for interesting decisions when settling. We’ve made some adjustments that should make it much easier to pursue this Legacy Path, while still requiring you to explore and settle Distant Lands. We plan on continuing to observe this Legacy Path as well as the others to find places to inject strategic variety.

Shipbuilding is no longer required to make Treasure Convoys.

Dev Note: With this change, your Treasure Convoys will start their journey home while the Ocean is still dangerous, and your Units can still be damaged by stormy seas.

Fishing Quays are no longer needed to make Treasure Convoys.

Updated tutorial and Advisor Quests to remove instances of Fishing Quay being required to spawn Treasure Convoy.

AI

  • AI civs now repair damaged Buildings and Improvements over time in gameplay.
  • AI will now have better judgement and make smarter deals when negotiating a peace deal.
  • AI players will now activate a Great Person when they create one.
  • AI now prioritizes attacking Enemy Treasure Convoys when progressing through a game.
  • AI are no longer as aggressive in declaring war on players who are far away from them.
  • AI leaders can no longer build duplicate Buildings when one of their damaged Buildings has a hostile Unit on it.
  • AI civs will no longer build multiple Settler Units and not use them when encountered during late Antiquity gameplay.

Cities & Towns

Added a brand new Town Focus, Resort Town: +1/2/3 Happiness and +1/2/3 Gold on tiles with Happiness (Natural Appeal). +50% Yields on Natural Wonder tiles in this Town.

Redesigned Urban Center: +100% Gold and Happiness towards Building maintenance in this Town. You can buy additional Buildings (e.g. Library, Bath, Monuments) in this Town (Was: +1 Science and Culture on Districts with two Buildings in this Town.)

Dev Note: You can think of Urban Centers like a mini-City – useful for when you want some additional Buildings, but don’t necessarily want another build queue to manage.

[★] Adjusted balance on several existing Town Focuses:

Religious site: +1 Happiness on all Buildings and +1 Relic Slot on Temples in this Town. (Was: +2 Happiness and +1 Relic Slot on Temples in this Town.)

Factory Town: +100% Gold towards purchasing a Factory in this town. +1 Resource Slots. +5 Trade Range. (From +100% Gold towards purchasing a Factory in this Town. +1 Resource Slots.)

Mining Town: +2/3/4 Production on all Camps, Woodcutters, Clay Pits, Mines, and Quarries. (Was: +1/2/3 Production on all Camps, Woodcutters, Clay Pits, Mines, and Quarries.)

Hub Town: +1 Influence for every connected Town (Was: +2 Influence for every connected Town.)

Dev Note: The only nerf of the bunch, Hub Town has been tuned down slightly to bring it in line with other Towns. We’ll keep an eye on this Focus for further tweaks that may be needed.

Fort Town: +5 healing to Units and +25 health to Walls in this Town and can purchase additional Walls.

Independent Powers & City-States

    • [★] Added 24 new City-State bonuses across the Ages.
      • Dev Note: Bigger maps means more players, and more potential City-State allies. To support this, we added more options for Suzerain bonuses when befriending a City-State. One of these new options is also shareable, so multiple civs can choose it. We felt that having a good baseline option available to all players would be a good quality-of-life consideration.
      • New Antiquity City-State Bonuses:
        • Scientific
          • Lingua Franca: +2 Science on displayed Codices.
          • Archimedes’ Screw: +1 Science on Warehouse Buildings. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
          • Dev Note: There are a few new bonuses that stack bonuses on Warehouse Buildings. This is part of an approach we’re experimenting with to keep infrastructure Buildings like Warehouses relevant and impactful as more of your empire is swallowed up by urban sprawl.
        • Militaristic
          • Hegemon: +1 Settlement Limit.
          • Dev Note: Some players have asked for more ways to increase Settlement Limit. We’re pretty comfortable with the current limits and how they rein in overly-wide strategies, but this seemed like an appropriately-costed way to give those players an option.
          • Spoils of War: +1 War Support. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
        • Economic
          • Stockpiles: +2 Resource Capacity in the Capital.
          • Ganzabara: +1 Gold on Warehouse Buildings. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
        • Cultural
          • Ennigaldi-Nanna’s Museum: +2 Culture on displayed Codices.
          • Papermaking: +1 Culture on Warehouse Buildings. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
      • New Exploration City-State Bonuses:
        • Scientific
          • Master Tradesmen: +1 Science on Specialists.
          • Apprenticeship: +1 Science on Warehouse Buildings. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
        • Militaristic
          • Staked Claims: +1 Settlement Limit.
          • Casus Belli: +1 War Support. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
        • Economic
          • Bullion:+1 Gold on Treasure Resources.
          • Market Right: +1 Gold on Warehouse Buildings. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
        • Cultural
          • Sì Mín: +1 Culture on Specialists.
          • Artisans: +1 Culture on Warehouse Buildings. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
      • New Modern City-State Bonuses:
        • Scientific
          • Refineries: +1 Science on slotted Factory Resources.
          • Mechanization: +1 Science on Warehouse Buildings. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
        • Militaristic
          • Dependent Territories: +1 Settlement Limit.
          • Home Front: +1 War Support. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
        • Economic
          • Factory System: +1 Resource Capacity in Settlements with a Factory.
          • Entrepreneurship: +1 Gold on Warehouse Buildings. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
        • Cultural
          • Touring Exhibits: +3 Culture on displayed Artifacts.
          • Textile Industry: +1 Culture on Warehouse Buildings. This bonus can be chosen by multiple civilizations.

Economy

    • Made several balance adjustments to Specialists, especially in Modern.
      • Free Speech (Modern Age Civic): +50% Food and Happiness towards maintaining Specialists (Was: +100% Food and Happiness towards maintaining Specialists)
      • Constitution (Exploration Age Civic): 25% Food and Happiness towards maintaining Specialists (Was: 50% Food and Happiness towards maintaining Specialists)
      • Attribute Node: 10% Food and Happiness towards maintaining Specialists, or +20% if you have 3 or fewer Cities (Was: 15% Food and Happiness towards maintaining Specialists, or +30% if you have 3 or fewer Cities)
      • Attribute Node: 15% of Food is refunded when a City grows by adding a Specialist. (Was: 25% of Food is refunded when a City grows by adding a Specialist.)
      • Fascism Ideology:
        • Assembly Line: +2 Production from Specialists. -2 Food in Towns. (Was:  +3 Production from Specialists. -3 Food in Towns)

    • You can now produce or purchase Buildings after the Jaguar Slayer has placed a Jaguar Trap on an Empty Urban District.
    • Salt and Truffles resources now apply 20% Production towards producing Units when slotted into a City.
    • Modifiers for City Park, Stock Exchange, Tenement, and Laboratory function correctly.

Age Transition

  • [★] All leader-recommended civs are now unlocked by default during Age transition.

Diplomacy

  • Reconciliation is now usable with multiple leaders at the same time.
  • Continental System’s massive relationship penalty now functions similar to a Denounce sanction.

  • French Empire’s Unique Unit Garde Imperiale can no longer gain +2 Combat Strength if it’s not within a Command Radius when attacking.
  • Nepal’s Sherpas can construct Highland Power Stations on owned and unowned Tiles so long as the requirements are met.
  • Naval Commander Movement now acts accordingly when Shipbuilding Mastery is completed.
  • Coastal Raid no longer disappears when moving a Naval Unit onto another tile that had a Coastal Raid option.

Religion

    • [★] Added two new Pantheons, including:
      • Trickster God: +25% Influence towards Endeavors and Sanctions with an Altar in your Capital. This Pantheon can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
      • God of Revelry: +1 Happiness on Resources in Settlements with an Altar. This Pantheon can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
      • Dev Note: Another consideration for larger maps and player counts was more Pantheon and Religious Beliefs being chosen. We expanded the catalogue of Beliefs and introduced some shareable options here as well.
    • [★] Added several new Religious Beliefs, including:
      • New Reliquary Beliefs:
        • Akhlaq: +1 Relic for first-time Conversion of one of your Cities.

        • Dev Note: These new Beliefs can all be used on your own Settlements when you use a Missionary to convert them, as long as they meet the other requirements.
      • New Founder Beliefs:
        • Salat: All Buildings receive a +1 Happiness adjacency with the Temple.
        • Chesed: +4 Production in your Settlements following your Religion.
        • Feed the World: +6 Food in your Settlements following your Religion.
        • Tikkun Olam: +2 Influence for every foreign Settlement following your Religion. +1 Influence for each of your Settlements following your Religion.
        • Covenant: +3 Science, Culture, Happiness, Influence, and Gold on the Temple in your Holy City. If you retain this Belief, this bonus transfers to your Palace in Modern. This Belief can be chosen by multiple civilizations.
          • Dev Note: We moved the bonus in Modern to ensure you didn’t lose it if you overbuilt your Temple. We considered starting it on your Palace in Exploration, but wanted to let it count towards the Enlightenment Legacy Path.

      • Dev Note: No more searching tile-by-tile for Settlements that are producing Treasure Convoys or have Wonders!
    • Founder Beliefs that provided Yield for each foreign Settlement following your Religion now grant some Yield for domestic Settlements following your Religion.
      • Dev Note: Many of the changes to Religious gameplay in this patch are aimed at providing a benefit for keeping your empire converted to your own Religion. As we continue to look at Religion as a whole, we’ve made some changes to Beliefs to better support having a Religious empire, and not just converting until you have enough Relics.
    • Various Founders Beliefs now track and refresh correctly.
      • Desert Faith
      • Reincarnation
      • Holy Waters
      • Sacred Herds
      • Sky Gods
      • Shamanism

Seven Cities of Gold Unique Ability updated to +100 Gold per Age when discovering a Wonder (Was: +300 in all Ages) and her extra Yields on Natural Wonders to a stacking +50% per improved Natural Wonder in her empire (Was: a fixed +100%).

Dev Note: A strong start is a powerful advantage, and Isabella has been one of the strongest leaders in the game since launch. We didn’t want to remove her power entirely, but instead wanted to spread it out a bit more over the course of a campaign and really give her a reason to seek out and secure as many Natural Wonders as she can.

Civs

Inca

Qhapaq Ñan Tradition now allows players to create Homeland Treasure Convoys worth 2 points in Cities with at least 3 Mountains.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide Update 1.084.097 Out for Battle for Tertium Content

[summaraize]

Fatshark has released a free update for all players of Warhammer 40K: Darktide. This is update number 1.084.097, and it brings the ‘Battle for Tertium’ content to the game.

Players can expect to see more trials, a new campaign, and much more. Check out some of the highlights of the patch below.

Warhammer 40K: Darktide Update 1.084.097 Brings Battle for Tertium

warhammer darktide

The Battle for Tertium

The core player experience has been reworked to provide a new clearer narrative focus, following the conflict of the Battle for Tertium. Players will now experience a linear campaign with new mission debriefs and embedded cinematics. This new progression path is designed to ease in new players and gradually unlock features that were previously gated by character level.

While previously each new player’s experience was completely random, the Battle for Tertium narrative presents maps, enemies and characters in a specific order, allowing players to discover all aspects of the game at a much better pace.

The story missions play the same as regular missions, except that these missions have a more tight control over which enemies spawn. You might also hear some new VO lines during missions, and some brand new mission debrief cinematics when completing each mission.

Existing players with characters at level 10 or higher can choose to skip the story or play it from the beginning. Players who change their minds about playing the campaign can opt out by using the Personality Scourge at the Barber-Chirurgeon. Note: If you decide to skip the story when you first log-in with this update, you cannot revert this decision. The only way to play the story after choosing to skip it is to create a new character. Additional note: The option to replay story missions at any time is still in progress.

It is worth noting that the Arbites’ arrival takes place after the events of the Battle for Tertium, so while you can absolutely play as an Arbites through the new campaign (once the class releases, later today!), some of the story scenes will not be addressed to your type of character. For this reason, we suggest playing the Battle for Tertium for the first time with one of the core characters.

Mortis Trials

The Secrets of the Shipmistress

Sefoni’s indiscretions are getting worse! During Mortis Trials, keen-eared Rejects now have the opportunity to sift pieces of Shipmistress Brahms’ past from the psychic chatter. How did she inherit the Mourningstar? What is she hiding? Is she really on the same side as Grendyl, let alone his irksome busybodies? Delve deeper into all these and more across dozens of new memory echoes, unlockable by claiming victory in the Mortis Trials!

Dev Note: If you’ve ever wanted to relisten to the memory echoes you’ve unlocked in the Mortis Trials, you should take a look behind the pillars in the Meat Grinder.

warhammer darktide 2

New difficulty for Mortis Trials

Since the release of Mortis Trials we have noticed people requesting a higher challenge in Mortis Trials! So, we are adding a new difficulty, Auric, as well as some other small changes.

  • There will now be a shorter time in between waves.

  • Waves will now have more enemies and enemy types increasing variety.

  • We are changing the base difficulty to match an Auric difficulty mission.

New In-Game Event: Inferno

The streets of Tertium are aflame. Whether by heretic plot or over-zealous Imperial enforcement makes no real difference. Missions must still run, so be careful down there. You’re literally dropping into a hot zone.

To make progress in the event, complete missions with the Inferno condition.

This event will start on Monday, June 23. The rewards will be Ordo dockets, Plasteel and Diamantine. Those who complete the last tier of the event will receive a cosmetic portrait frame.

New Havoc Campaign

Havoc Maintenance: With the upcoming release of this update, Havoc will be unavailable from June 23, 2025 from 00:00 to approximately 12:00 UTC.

New Mission Pool

  • Power Matrix HL-17-36

  • Magistrati Oubliette TM8-707

  • Archivum Sycorax

  • Dark Communion

  • Refinery Delta-17

  • Smelter Complex HL17-36

  • Chasm Station HL-16-11

  • Excise Vault Spireside-13

  • Consignment Yard HL17-36

  • Chasm Logistratum

Mutators

  • Pus-Hardened Skin

  • The Final Toll

  • Heinous Rituals

  • The Encroaching Garden

  • Rampaging Enemies

The in-game event condition, Inferno, will temporarily be available during the first rotation in this campaign, as well.

You can check out the game’s official Steam page for more info on the patch notes for this update.

With the Ragnarok Ascended patch applied, various issues have surfaced, and as more are found, Studio Wildcard rolls out fixes to fix it.

Expect these title updates to be more minor in nature, given that the developers are aiming for a fast turnaround time to release them to fix any game-breaking issues, such as exploits and the like.

Cancelled Batman Game Featuring Damian Wayne Character Designs Surface Showing Off an Older Bruce Wayne, Killer Croc and More

[summaraize]

Earlier this year, Warner Bros. announced it was cancelling the previously announced Wonder Woman game, much to the dismay of DC fans worldwide. It’s not just a Wonder Woman game that was cancelled; the publisher has also previously cancelled a Batman game featuring Damian Wayne in the cape and cowl.

Although never officially announced, its existence was leaked a few years ago, and it was codenamed “Project Sabbath.” It was planned to be a game set 10 years after the events of Batman: Arkham Knight, and featured Bruce Wayne’s son as taking on the mantle of the Bat.

Batman Game From WB Montreal Featuring Damian Wayne as the Protagonist Would Have Given Us an Old Bruce Wayne

The new concept art comes from former Warner Bros. Montreal Principal Artist Rodrigue Pralier (thanks, Batman Arkham Videos), who has shared images of not only Damian Wayne, but also an old Bruce Wayne. We also see concept art for Killer Croc and the Huntress, which takes a different direction from what we’re accustomed to seeing in the Arkham universe of games in terms of art style.

The leaked info mentions Project Sabbath was the fifth entry in the Arkhamverse series, and would serve as a sequel to Batman: Arkham Knight. It was said to be set 10 years after the events of Rocksteady’s last mainline Batman Arkham game, and seemed to be inspired by Batman Beyond as well.

While Warner Bros. hasn’t announced a new Batman game yet, the company has said they are focusing on Batman, Harry Potter and other “core franchises” for games moving forward.

A rumor that surfaced earlier this year mentioned that Rocksteady is once again working a new single-player Batman game after the massive disaster that was Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Even if the studios is doing that, it doesn’t necessarily mean Damian Wayne will take on the role of the Batman. Chances are, whatever assets and ideas WB Games Montreal had for Project Sabbath is tucked away, with Rocksteady and Warner Bros. starting fresh.

Following the major update to Ark Survival Ascended, which introduced the Ragnarok Ascended content and the Lost Colony expansion pass, the studio has released a new update on June 21.

Players on consoles will see this as Ark Survival Ascended update 1.067.027, while it’s version 67.31 on PC.

Expect the two version to be in-sync at some point, as is the case with the game’s updates.

Ark Survival Ascended Saving issue Sorted in New Patch 1.067.027

  • Fix for single player sometimes not saving when exiting to the main menu.

v67.28 Minor Version for Steam Servers and Steam Clients v67.31

  • Fixed an exploit,
  • Fixed some entitlement issues

The Xbox version should still be in the Ragnarok Ascended version.

  • New Breedable Creature: Griffin

The Blood of Dawnwalker Gameplay Overview Impresses, as We Learn First Details on Combat

[summaraize]

As promised by Rebel Wolves, our first look at gameplay for The Blood of Dawnwalker just aired today, and we got a significant look at the game’s combat, graphics, and more. So far, based on what we’ve seen, the open-world RPG from the former CD Projekt RED devs is looking tight.

Alongside the 15-minute gameplay clip, we also got our first details regarding combat, how Coen’s abilities differ from human to vampire and lots more.

The Blood of Dawnwalker Gameplay Debut and First Details

Here’s info from Rebel Wolves straight from the press release:

Vale Sangora

Step into the gripping world of The Blood of Dawnwalker, where exploration and player choice shape Coen’s journey. Unveiled during the Summer Solstice gameplay showcase, Vale Sangora serves as the heart of this immersive narrative offering players freedom to traverse its landscapes, from swamps and towering mountains to abandoned ruins and shadowy caves and the horrors within them. Svartrau, the region’s largest city, contrasts starkly between day and night where bustling medieval life masks the influence of a vampire regime by day, while moonlit rooftops reveal hidden secrets after dark, with residents reacting to the player’s choices and behavior.

Coen’s duality and combat

As a Dawnwalker, Coen is neither fully human nor entirely vampire. By day, he can wield both a sword and use magical runes in the form of bloody scars etched on his skin. However, at night, Coen embraces his supernatural instincts, and unlocks an entirely new powerset. His nocturnal abilities include lethal vampiric claws and Shadowstep, a skill that allows him to swiftly navigate across rooftops. The Blood of Dawnwalker uses a directional combat system designed to bring cinematic intensity and tactical challenge to every confrontation. Players must study enemy movements, block precisely, and time counterattacks to execute seamless, strategic takedowns.

The vampire nature

As a Dawnwalker, Coen grapples with his relentless bloodlust that intensifies at night. Accompanied by visual cues during gameplay, players can help Coen satisfy his hunger in various ways – by drinking the blood of defeated foes, including vampires, innocent villagers, or animals, or by using special blood vials. If left unsatisfied, this craving not only weakens Coen’s abilities and vitality but, in critical moments, may cause him to lose control, and unintentionally cause the death of an important story character.

There are still a lot of questions left unanswered even with this massive blowout. We do know the game is targeting at least 30-40 hours for the campaign. Also don’t expect Coen to be a superhero, as Rebel Wolves aims for the game to be less flashy compared to other fantasy games.

The Blood of Dawnwalker releases in 2026 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Those keeping a close eye on HYTE’s new upcoming PC case, the HYTE X50 and X50 Air, may be excited to learn that the company has launched a rather unique opportunity that gives you a chance at pre-ordering the case a little earlier. While the pre-ordering phase has yet to go live, HYTE is promising eager buyers the opportunity to get early access, and it all starts with the launch of a special survey.

What is this special survey you ask? Well, it’s essentially a short questionnaire that registers your interest in the case. All you have to do is go to their survey page, fill out a few questions, and you’ll get an email confirmation confirming your early access entry. To make things a little more enticing with the pre-order, HYTE is also offering the first 50,000 pre-orders an exclusive Gold HYTE badge with their X50 pre-order.

They’re calling these X50 cases the “First Edition” with the badges only being available in limited quantity, and as mentioned, to the first 50,000 pre-orders.

If you’re a fan of HYTE and are eager to get your hands on the new X50 case, it’s not a bad potential freebie to go alongside your pre-order, so get out there and get that survey filled!

Lies of P Update 1.010 Is the Second Patch Released for the Day

[summaraize]

Earlier today, Round8 released an update for Lies of P that aimed to change how the Overture DLC is accessed, alongside other changes.

On the same day, Round8 has released another update, which appears as Lies of P update 1.010/1.10 on consoles and PC.

Lies of P Second Update on June 20 Deivers Version 1.010/1.10

Lies of P Update 1.03 Patch Notes

What’s odd here is, the announcement of the second patch for Lies of P mentions that it’s for Windows (PC) only, though we can confirm it’s also out on PS5 and PS4.

The change for version 1.10.0.0 includes:

Bug Fix

  • Fixed a bug where players, under very rare conditions, were unable to access ‘Lies of P: Overture’.

And that’s about it. It’s a pretty significant bug, which makes a second rollout understandable.

For the previous patch released today (version 1.09), here are the fixes and adjustments it applied to the game:

Important Notice

  • Using software or data not officially distributed by the developer may cause the game to crash.
  • Please make sure to always have your game updated to the latest version.
  • Failing to do so may result in crashes, save data errors, or even irreversible data loss.
  • If you are starting the game after installing from a disc, be sure to update to the latest version before playing.
  • If your Bag is full when you pick up an item, the item will be sent to the Storage.
  • Please be sure to check your Storage for the item.

Major Changes

  • Starting from your second playthrough, you can access the Lies of P: Overture DLC from Chapter 5 at the “Path of the Pilgrim.”

Please read any on-screen prompts carefully.

  • Combat Balance Adjustments
    • Reduced monster difficulty in repeat playthroughs.
    • Adjusted stats for certain field monsters in the first playthrough of Lies of P: Overture.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where benefit items were not delivered properly.
    • If you experienced issues with benefit items such as the “Azure Dragon Crescent Glaive” or “Winter Festival Peaked Hat” not being received, please update the game to the latest version and check if the issue has been resolved.
    • If your Bag was full, these items may have been sent to the Storage. Please check your Storage as well.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented quest progression after giving a bottle of beer to Salao, the Old Fisherman.
  • If you encountered this bug, update the game to the latest version and try speaking with Salao again.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed movement to unintended areas outside the normal route.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the character to be launched into the air when using the Blade Fable Arts of “Monad’s Rose Sword.”
  • Fixed a bug where using the Blade Fable Arts of “Monad’s Rose Sword” in Hotel Krat while listening to a record would skip the current record.
  • Fixed a bug where the triggered effect of the “Solutionist’s Amulet” would persist even after the item was unequipped.
  • Fixed a visual bug affecting the Legion Arm “Flamberge” when wearing the “Blazing Death’s Hunting Apparel.”
  • Fixed various minor issues, including icon display errors, localization and text errors, monster-related bugs, and other miscellaneous bugs.

If there are any other changes in version 1.010 that we have failed to mention, please leave a comment and let us know.

NetEase Announces First AAA Single-Player Game “Blood Message;” Plot and Key Features Revealed

[summaraize]

NetEase, the Chinese tech company behind games like Marvel Rivals, Once Human and more, has announced they are working on their first AAA single-player game titled “Blood Message.”

Contrary to the company’s previous game releases, this will be a narrative-drive game, which aims to blend survival combat with Eastern storytelling.

For the game’s first trailer and key features, read on.

Blood Message From NetEase Looks to Bring AAA Gaming With an Eastern Theme

Blood Message Story Details:

Blood Message introduces a forgotten odyssey of loyalty and survival where players join Dunhuang’s uprising, taking control of a nameless messenger and his young son in this immersive third-person action-adventure. Caught in the crossfire of a righteous uprising and driven by loyalty to both family and country, players will embark on a perilous eastward journey to deliver a message that holds the fate of their war-torn homeland. Amidst the shifting sands of history, they will etch a final tale of loyalty.

Set during the final years of the Tang Dynasty, players will traverse a treacherous 3,000-li (around 1,000 miles) odyssey back to Chang’an, the heart of the Tang Empire. Cross lethal landscapes including desolate deserts and the vast wilderness of East and Central Asia to survive brutal sieges, unforgiving terrain, and overwhelming odds. The game’s setting in the last years of the Tang Dynasty provides a cultural landmark of Chinese history that frames the story with customs, culture, and rich history of the era.

Blood Message Key Features:

  • Narrative-driven gameplay anchored in cinematic storytelling
  • Visceral, realistic combat blending stealth and survival mechanics
  • A deeply emotional journey exploring themes of family, honor, sacrifice, and cultural identity
  • Expansive landscapes inspired by the diverse terrains of East and Central Asia, such as Dunhuang (敦煌)

The game is being developed by Chinese studio 24 Entertainment, and there’s no release date set for it yet but it is confirmed for consoles and PC.

Powered by Unreal Engine 5, Blood Message is a cinematic, single-player, linear story-driven action-adventure game. Given how Eastern titles such as Stellar Blade, Black Myth Wukong and the like have played, we’re excited to learn more about Blood Message.
