[summaraize]

Insomniac Games and Nixxes Software have released Patch 8 for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC, and this ushers in a new set of technical improvements and bug fixes. PC players will see this as Marvel’s Spider Man 2 update version 1.408.0.0, and this should be a small download.

The funny thing here is, now with the patch installed, Spider-Man (both heroes) can now swing and not be affected by trees as much.

FragPunk PS5, Xbox Series Fires Out April 29

[summaraize]

As if NetEase doesn’t have enough of the console playerbase with Marvel Rivals, the company is about to release first-person free-to-play shooter FragPunk later this month.

The 5v5 hero shooter will even feature cross-progression, so PC players can carry over their data to the console of their choice come April 29.

FragPunk Finally Hitting PS5, Xbox Series X|S

To make up for the delayed console launch, NetEase and developer Bad Guitar Studio is offering “substantial rewards” for console players. This includes  rewards gained through exclusive time-limited events from the start of Season 1 until April 29. When the console version goes live, players who purchased the Pioneer Bundle on consoles will be eligibile to claim additional gifts after the console launch.

Console Launch Key Features to Expect:

Crossplay and Cross Progression: The console version will feature both crossplay and cross-progression with the PC version, enabling players to enjoy FragPunk together across platforms. More detailed information about these cross-platform features will be shared ahead of launch.

Aim Assist & Optimized Controls: To ensure balance and a smooth gameplay experience, the console version will include enhanced aim assist for controller players. This feature is designed to minimize the disparity between controller and keyboard/mouse input and provides an equally competitive environment for all players.

If you haven’t been keeping tabs about the game, here’s a quick overview of its features.

FragPunk Features:

  • Shard Cards & Power to Bend the Rules: No two rounds of FragPunk are ever the same thanks to over 70 shard cards to play with! These unique cards can amplify jump height, reverse the roles of attackers and defenders, engulf bullets in flames or turn them into chain lightning, and even resurrect players! And since the card selection changes every round, this creates new and unique combinations, with infinite gameplay possibilities!

  • Frantic 5v5 Hero Shooter Action: Each round lasts about 2.5 minutes, so get a move on! This frantic match time means players have to aim true and react fast to win the fight. Choose between a varied cast of heroes with diverse abilities, customize weapon combinations, pick the best cards and get ready for a lightning-fast fight!

  • Endlessly Replayable: With its varied selection of heroes, weapons, shard cards and maps to play in, FragPunk can look forward to discovering several combinations which will result in a fresh new experience for each new round as they develop their personal combat style.

  • Immersive Maps and Vibrant Visuals: FragPunk features complex and varied map designs mixed with visual effects including collages, graffiti and a blend of realistic and stylized textures. Players can feast their eyes on bold colors, sharp shapes and dynamic lines that provide an amazing visual experience while the bullets fly.

Will console gamers embrace another F2P shooter? We’ll know for sure come later this month.

SolCalTech Revealed Which is a New Brand to Celebrate All Things Tech

In a rather surprising and unexpected reveal, Jason Langiven, or as the internet more commonly knows him as, JayzTwoCents, has revealed a new technology-focused brand to bring together Southern Californians, from fans to creators and even businesses, to celebrate all things related to technology.

To kick this new brand off, a two-day fair, dubbed SolCalTech Fair, will be hosted this May for all.

From Panels to Gaming and Even Some Friendly Competition

In partnership with iBUYPOWER and its sister company HYTE, SoCalTech Fair will be hosted in iBUYPOWER’s headquarters from May 3-4. It will feature a variety of activities, as well as some of the biggest technology-focused content creators who will be attending the event for greet and meet sessions.

“One thing I learned from making tech content over the last twelve years – SoCal’s tech enthusiasts, both young and old, are extremely dedicated in bringing new people to support the community, and to continue building it up year after year,” said Jason Langevin, otherwise known by his YouTube Channel JayzTwoCents. “One of my goals is to give back to this community with the launch of SoCalTech, and to make our first event a success that leads into bigger plans, events, and more.”

A breakdown of what you can expect from the event can be found below.

  • Dedicated stage for on-site panels, raffles, presentations, and meet & greet sessions for SoCalTech Fair’s headline influencer talent – JayzTwoCents, Austin Evans, and BitWit
  • Free-Play Sim-Racing Game Stations and PC Stations to play the latest video games
  • Tech-themed activations, including a “Speed PC Building” competition, “Tower of Power” motherboard stacking competition, and much more!
  • Discounted sales from iBUYPOWER and HYTE’s product inventory, and event-exclusive merchandise

Tickets are now live on EvenBrits and will cost you only $20 for a day pass.

For those living or planning to be near the area (13164 East Temple Avenue City of Industry, CA 91746), it might be a perfect time to get some expert advice. Both HYTE and iBUYPOWER will be there, offering a wide array of PC components for sale, and even at a discounted price. The HYTE Y70, one of HYTE’s best PC dual-chamber cases, will likely be on sale there, so for those wanting to see this monster of a case in person, now might be a good opportunity.

As Jason says, this is only the start, and we cannot wait to see how the event grows in the years to come.

VR Conducting Game Maestro Adds Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones

[summaraize]

Maestro, the VR game where you take on the role of a conductor, conducting music, just got a whole lot more epic as its latest DLC pack sees the arrival of not one but two collaborative tracks.

Get ready because Winter has arrived in Mordor

One Ring to Rule Them All, and Only One True King of the North

The DLC pack, which is dubbed “Doom Bound,” features five new playable tracks, and as you can listen above, two of the new tracks are from Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings. The pack is now live via the Horizon Store, and features the following tracks:

  • Ramin Djawadi – Main Theme (Game of Thrones)
  • Howard Shore – The Bridge of Khazad-dûm (The Lord of the Rings)
  • Jacques Offenbach – Orpheus in the Underworld
  • Franz Liszt – Totentanz (up to minute 4)
  • Dmitri Shostakovich – Symphony No. 10, 2nd Movement

To help set the mood, the theatre setting featured in the game has been completely transformed to match the darker fantasy experience that the music brings to the game.

  • Cinematic soundtrack: Powerful, epic music drawn from Game of Thrones and The Lord Of The Rings OSTs
  • Dark fantasy aesthetic: A brutal world inspired by colossal temples and barbaric sacrifices.
  • Theatrical performance: A more physical and expressive approach, embodying music as a living force.

For those wondering, Maestro isn’t you’re traditional VR rhythm experience. It takes full advantage of hand tracking, meaning the movement and gestures you perform in-game, are your very own, rather than done through a controller. It’s a unique experience, and though it’s not exactly Beat Saber, the experience feels pretty similar in a lot of ways.

Maestro is now available at the Horizon Store, along with the Doom Bound pack. At the moment, there is no news on whether the title will come to PSVR2.

F1 25 My Team 2.0 Overhaul Explained

Codemasters is shaking things up with the upcoming entry of F1 25, as the racing sim’s My Team mode is getting an overhaul. In the first deep dive featurette, Codemasters gives us a peek at the improvements headed to My Team 2.0.

Codemasters explains the new direction My Team takes, allowing players to step into the shoes of a team owner. This is said to be the biggest overhaul for the mode since F1 2020.

F1 25 My Team 2.0 What’s New

A Redefined Team Owner Role

Unlike previous iterations where players juggled the roles of driver and owner, My Team 2.0 sees players take on a more authentic, management-focused role. In addition to handling the day-to-day running of the critical facilities that make an F1® team tick, team owners will be responsible for recruiting and managing a pair of drivers to represent their team. Then, during race weekends, they will be given the choice as to which driver they would like to race as.

Facility Management

Three key Facilities have been introduced, each with a unique responsibility:

  • Engineering: Research and Development are now separated for the first time, allowing for more flexibility when manufacturing new parts and choosing how to apply them. Now, players will have to balance cost, development timings, and sometimes one driver over another, which can impact the driver’s perception of your team in future contract negotiations.

  • Personnel: F1® 25 introduces a dynamic driver contract system. To shape the team’s future lineup, owners can meet multiple drivers face-to-face to discuss terms, though leaked conversations can sabotage deals. Beyond drivers, owners must manage their Workforce. Its size will impact both costs and efficiency: more hires accelerate R&D and facility upgrades, but overexpansion risks breaching the Cost Cap.

  • Corporate: The Corporate facility centralices financial strategy, requiring players to manage seasonal spending to avoid deficits. A new Decal Editor allows for greater customization options for livery designs and defining a team’s visual identity (more of this on Deep Dive 2), while an updated sponsor system helps players build relationships with title sponsors over time.

Enhanced Team HQ environment

My Team 2.0 introduces an all-new Team HQ, an evolving space that will grow in scale, population, activity, as the owner builds their team’s staff and reputation. Players must strategically decide how to expand their facilities and grow their team, completing upgrades and training courses that allow them to specialise their owner’s skills.

Revised Progression System

Accolades, first introduced in Driver Career, also return and are now integrated into My Team. Earning Accolades and outperforming rival teams boosts a team’s Fan Rating, unlocking valuable perks, new sponsorship opportunities, and the chance to sign more prestigious drivers.

New Possibilities for Driver Career and My Team

F1® 25 also brings significant updates to the Driver Icons system, allowing AI teams to recruit iconic drivers for the first time in both My Team and Driver Career modes. Additionally, players can now add an 11th team to the grid – either Braking Point’s Konnersport or, for those who get the Iconic Edition before July 11, the APXGP team from the new Apple Original Films’ F1 – with its respective Driver Icons, in both game modes.

My Team 2.0 will let players call the shots in an environment where every decision can impact their future and legacy in the sport.

You can read more about the new features to understand how it works.

Another deep dive will be released on April 17, focusing on Presentation, track updates, and other big in-game innovations.

F1 25 will race out on May 30 on consoles and PC.

Cross -Save and an Update on PlayStation’s Situation

Now available on PC, Xbox, Android, and iOS, please check out the Accounts & Cross-Platform Saves page for info and instructions!

Unfortunately, PS4 and PS5 cross-save is not part of today’s update. Here’s an explanation by the devs:

Last month, we told everyone that Cross-Save would be available on PlayStation 4/5, PC, Xbox, Android and iOS alongside our next free VS update in April. But at last minute, we’ve run into a legal issue on PlayStation we weren’t aware of that requires us to share info on our partners that we’re unable to

The chances of Cross-Save coming to PlayStation consoles are now very slim, but not impossible, so we’re going to keep working alongside PlayStation to resolve these problems. We’re so sorry to build up any anticipation for this feature on PlayStation only to change plans at the last minute

Cross-Save will still be available on PC, Xbox, Android and iOS in the next few weeks, with Nintendo Switch following at a later date (plus Apple Arcade if we can do so without breaching any privacy commitments)

PS: for anyone wanting Cross-Save just to unlock trophies, it’s worth noting that PS Trophies are automatically disabled on a platform level for all games when using a save file from another platform, or at least that’s the policy we’ve been given to agree to if we ever manage to bring the feature on PS in the first place.

Abyssus Hands-On Preview – What If Doom Was Co-Op?

What happens when you take id Software’s DOOM and blend it in with a bit of BioShock, sprinkle some rogue-lite elements, and then pair it all up with four-player co-op? You get Abyssus, a debut title from DoubleMoose that trades fighting against the forces of hell for a more aquatic, deep-sea setting that sees you taking on ancient beasts and even gods.

If that sounds right up your alley, then the good news is that there’s now a playable PC demo (via Steam) for you to try out yourself. MP1sat was fortunate enough to be given early access to the demo a little over a week ago, and the short of it is, yeah, this game freaking rocks!

Rogue-lite Doom

Looking at the trailer, there’s no denying the DOOM-inspiration, as it oozes in it with its fast-paced, classic arena-like combat against hordes of enemies. It’s a fair comparison, and in reality, it’s very Doom-like in many aspects. That’s not a bad thing, especially if you’re a fan of the Doom franchise. But Abyssus shakes things up because, despite having over 60 hand-crafted levels, the game is a rogue-lite experience where players must reach the end of procedurally sequenced stages, taking on waves of enemies and even boss fights in between it all.

These stages are set up similarly to modern DOOM, with plenty of horizontal and verticality in the combat. You’ll find yourself moving around in the environment a lot as you attempt to dodge the volley of bullets and energy blasts that enemies fire. In general, the movement feels great, very reminiscent of old ’90s arena shooters, though with a much more modernized feel to it. The gunplay is fantastic, with each weapon having alternative firing modes and customizable mods.

In the demo, we got access to three guns: The Energy Rifle, the Shotgun, and the Brine Revolver. You can only take one of these guns with you for a run, which might seem like an odd decision, but considering this can be played with three other friends for four players, it builds an interesting “class”-like setup players can fill. But I did want to talk about the guns themselves, as this is often something many tend to get wrong, in a sense that they don’t know how to have fun with their designs, despite the fantasy, or “brinepunk” setting going on. That’s not the case here, as DoubleMoose has made each available weapon feel rather unique to the game’s world. You recognize them for what they are, such as the revolver looking like a revolver. But that revolver has other stuff going on when you look at it, such as its chambers being on fire and other cool little details. Every gun has some unique design matching the brinepunk setting (it’s brine, a saltwater solution, but the general theme is aquatic, docks, wet, cold, submarine suit- almost Bioshock-like) that just looks pleasing to the eye in a way that makes you go, oh yeah, this is going to be fun to use, and they are. As I mentioned, the gunplay feels fantastic.

Now, the general loop of the game follows that of practically any other rogue-lites out there. Start a run, make your way through hordes of enemies, and defeat bosses. Completing each stage will even reward you with a selectable boon with different benefits to make you even more powerful.

As a solo experience, the game can be pretty challenging, with the quantity and difficulty of enemies increasing the deeper you go into the world. Luckily, you can play this entirely in co-op with four players. This is probably Abyssus’ standout feature, making what already feels like an excellent experience even better. It’s like playing with an army of Doomslayers by your side, and as you’d expect, the chaos is utterly fun.

So far, Abyssus has left a pretty good impression on me. I know we have rogue-lite games coming left and right, and it’s becoming increasingly hard to keep up with them as of late, but I will say that Abyssus is definitely one worth checking out. Even if you aren’t a fan of the rogue-lite genre, the fact that there’s co-op, with up to four people total, already sets the game apart from most experiences.  At the end of the day, it knows what it wants to be and does a fantastic job of it, and from a player perspective, it’s just sheer fun.

Abyssus has no release date yet, but it due for release on PC later this year.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Update 4 Released on April 10 Adds New Features

[summaraize]

MachineGames has a new major update for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle this April 10 that adds new features quality-of-life improvements and of course, bug fixes.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle’s Update 4 patch notes are a pretty long read, so get started now, adventurer.

India Jones and the Great Cricle Update 4 Lists Several Improvements and Bug Fixes

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle New Update feb 20

Here’s everything new per MachineGames:

NEW FEATURES

New Adventure Books

You can learn a lot from reading, and in Update 4 we’ve added two new Adventure Books that give Indy some whip-tastic options in combat!

  • With the “Open Season” Adventure Book, hitting an opponent with the whip temporarily causes them to take more damage from subsequent attacks
  • “Sleight of Hand” lets Indy pull an enemy’s weapon towards him after disarming them with the whip

Quality of Life Features

Based on community feedback, we’ve added tons of new options and features in this update:
  • You can choose to disable the center dot on the HUD (if you’re prone to motion sickness, we recommend leaving the dot enabled)
  • We’ve added an “Always Allow Skipping Cutscenes” option, letting you skip cutscenes even if you haven’t watched them
  • Players can disable the “Stealth Vignette” around the edge of the HUD while Indy is crouched in stealth
  • You can cycle between local maps and level maps when viewing the journal in “lowered” mode
  • Players will now see slightly more of the map while the journal is in “lowered” mode
  • Some of you have told us that you don’t have much use for Repair Kits. Well, now you can throw them at your enemies!
  • We have added a timer to the combat HUD around Indy’s health that lets you know how long it will take for alerted enemies to call off a search
  • The PC version now supports the PlayStation DualSense Wireless Controller for advanced haptic feedback and adaptive triggers
  • If you are using PlayStation or Steamdeck controllers in the PC version, they will now show up in the controller configuration menu
  • You can now bind a key to toggle High Contrast Mode on PC
  • Several new tutorials have been added:
    • Tutorials are now given explaining how to unlock/activate Adventure Books after you’ve collected them
    • Tutorials are now given about how to buy Health or Stamina upgrades after collecting multiple medicine bottles
    • We’ve added a tutorial on how to blow away scorpions at the end of the Gizeh level
  • The menu to purchase or unlock Adventure Books and map information booklets has been improved to give clearer information about unlock costs and to better subdivide the categories
  • We’ve recorded new one-liners for Indy during fights, for extra variety
  • We’ve improved Ray-traced Global Illumination on all platforms at no performance cost; contact shadows have been improved, helping objects appear more “grounded” in the scene

Bug Fixes

General

  • Made Indy’s transition from ledge hanging into whip attach and swing look smoother
  • Fixed an issue where some medicine bottles could not be picked up in various locations in the game in specific circumstances
  • Dogs move their legs more naturally when turning while walking
  • It’s now much easier to throw defeated soldiers over ledges when carrying them
  • Fixed issue where Gina would use here her standing conversation ‘gesture’ animations while she’s crouching
  • Prevented merchant items from disappearing if you trigger a cutscene with them immediately after holding one of their books
  • Fixed an issue where you could get stuck in third-person camera if using a zipline while inspecting an item
  • Fixed an issue where you could loot multiple items from downed opponents by spamming the interact button
  • “Parry” tutorial stays on screen longer, giving you more chance to read it
  • Whipping the air near an enemy soldier is now always considered an offensive action even if you are in a soldier disguise

Missions and Quests

Marshall College
  • Interaction marker for the Cat Mummy photograph is now shown from farther away
  • Pendant Marker is now visible when you are in the exhibition hall
  • Markers are now shown on the cabinets when you pick up the exhibits in the Cat Mummy puzzle
The Vatican
  • Fixed an issue where the marker for Giuseppe could not be shown if he left Section F (for example if he came to investigate gunfire sounds). The marker on Giuseppe will always be shown now (if you have ‘Objective Location Markers’ set to ‘On’ in the ‘Adventure Experience’ section of the ‘HUD and Gameplay’ menu). Also prevented the “Search Giuseppe” marker from disappearing if you leave Section F before searching him
  • Fixed an issue where you could not open the “Bulls of Blood” secret door when revisiting the Castel Sant Angelo. Also prevented the “search area” for this mystery from appearing on your map if you the mystery was started on your first visit to the area but not completed
  • Fix for priests appearing behind the sealed ‘demon door’ in the Tower of Nicholas V in the Vatican

  • Objective marker for rescuing Sidney from the barracks no longer shows permanently if player hasn’t actually enabled the ‘Objective Location Markers’ feature in the Adventure Experience menu
Gizeh
  • Fixed issue where it was not possible to track the Remedy for All activity in Gizeh if the guidebook was collected before speaking to Dr. Kafour
  • Fixed issue where Gina would only escort you across the first scorpion-filled room in Sanctury of the Guardians if you picked up a specific one of the three staffs
  • Fix for “Parked Car” photo opportunity marker in Gizeh Village appearing before the car is actually present
  • Fixed an issue where player may be able to survive falling into pits in the temples near the Nazi Dig Site in Gizeh, getting stuck
  • “Gantz’s Orders” and “Gantz’s Journal” note marker is changed to be a Search Area instead of a point marker
  • Added some extra grabbable ledges around the pit where you collect the Selek Stele, to allow for more graceful swing failures!
Shanghai
  • Fixed issue where you might see enemy planes frozen in the sky
Sukhothai
  • Updated how objective markers are displayed in the “Royal Army Transmissions”. Markers appear by the radio closest to Gina when you have frequencies to return to her, and the marker appears on Gina when you have returned all of the frequencies
  • Fixed issue where it was not possible to complete the Royal Army Transmissions mission despite having turned in all radio frequencies
  • Fixed an issue where player could not swim to escape from the flooding temple in Sukhothai
  • “Fried Egg” note can now be obtained even if player does not start the “Trapped in the Past” mission by talking to Sunan before travelling to the cave. Players who did not speak to Sunan will receive the note when exiting the dream sequence. Players who have already completed this mission should also receive the note
  • Fixed an issue where Gina would be repeating her startled and worried voice lines from the ambush when you revisit Sukhothai. Update 3 prevented new players from experiencing this issue, and in Update 4 we’ve been able to fix this for players who are already encountering this bug

Atomfall Update 1.005 Address Audio Bug

[summaraize]

Rebellion has released Atomfall update 1.005 (complete version 1.005.00), which is a minor patch that addresses the audio issue some players have been experiencing.

Thise still playing on last-gen platforms, the patch is also available there as Atomfall update version 1.05, and it also fixes the same issue. This is a pretty small download and doesn’t hold any new content.

Atomfall Audio Bug Patched via Update 1.005

Per Rebellion, here’s what got fixed today:

Fixes

  • Resolved issues with audio dropping out

While that’s the only issue tackled by the studio, there are a lot of known issues being worked on, which we’ve included below.

Atomfall Known Issues and Bugs as of April 10:

General

  • Subtitles disappear too quickly for some languages
  • The map sometimes gets stuck on one region
  • Using Molotov cocktails occasionally causes a crash

Location Specific Issues

  • Wyndham Village – Players struggling to leave The Bakery
  • Interchange – Robotics – Door is inaccessible after exiting and returning

Quest Specific Issues

  • Interchange – Dr Holder – Some players unable to leave Medical Tunnels due to lack of health and health items

No release date has been given for the next update, but expect it out within the month or by May.

If you’ve yet to try Atomfall, go read our review where we state, “For a studio that has been mostly known for the Sniper Elite franchise for the last decade, Atomfall is a drastic departure from anything Rebellion Games has done. It’s unfamiliar territory for the studio, and yet they manage to show that sometimes taking risks can lead to something truly exceptional”

Marathon Won’t Require PlayStation Account on Xbox, PC

[summaraize]

In recent years, Sony PlayStation have started bringing their games to other platforms, whether by choice or out of need. One big example of this is when PlayStation acquired Bungie, a studio that still makes games for multiple platforms, including for its upcoming titles.

Bungie’s next title, Marathon, will be released not only on PlayStation but also on Xbox and PC. This raises an important question: since Marathon is a PlayStation game, will it require a PSN account to play on other platforms like PC or Xbox?

Will Marathon Require a PSN Account to Play on PC or Xbox?

Marathon

Bungie responded to this question through their official Discord account (thanks, Okami13)!, clearing up any confusion. They said, “Marathon will not require a PlayStation account for players on PC or Xbox Series X|S.”

However, players will need to have a Bungie account, since the game is cross-platform and supports cross-save. This isn’t much different from what you might already know if you’re a player of Destiny, as you may already have a Bungie account. In that case, there’s no need to create a new one.

Many players were concerned about the PSN requirement because, similar to PlayStation’s earlier decision with games like Helldivers 2 by Arrowhead Game Studios, which required a PSN account even for the PC version linked to Steam, Marathon could follow suit. This move sparked a backlash, with the Helldivers 2 Steam page receiving review bombs and its rating dropping sharply. However, Sony later removed the PSN requirement for PC players, improving the situation.

Remember, Marathon is a new first-person shooter from Bungie, though details are still scarce. A gameplay reveal is set for April 12, so we’ll likely learn more in just a few days’ time.

On the gameplay side, Update 6.3 brings a nerf to the Sword’s secondary attack, aiming to reduce the frustration many players have felt when facing this very sharp stick.
We’ve also rolled out a wide slate of bug fixes and improvements across UI, animations, performance, and more.

Finally, Balance-wise, the meta’s looking more stable than it has in a while, but we’re still keeping a close eye on standout contenders like the Cerberus, Pike-556, FAMAS, and the Season 6 newcomers: M134, CB-01, and ARN-220.

We’ve also got a stacked store rotation this week. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nope, that’s a snuke!

Balance Changes

Dev Note: This week’s balance changes are fairly light as right now, the overall meta is looking more stable than it has for a while. We are monitoring several items based on their performance at present though and are likely to make some adjustments to them in the coming weeks. These include the Cerberus 12GA, Pike-556 and FAMAS, as well as each of the three new weapons, the M134 Minigun, CB-01 Repeater and the ARN-220.

Additionally, we’re continuing to monitor the performance of the respawn system in Cashout mode and expect to have some refinements to make to the system in the 6.6 update.

Weapons

Sword

  • Decreased secondary attack damage from 140 to 105

Dev Note: The Sword has increasingly become a source of frustration for a lot of players, especially Light players, who feel its ‘one-shot’ potential when combined with Quick Melee is too oppressive. Over time, we’ve been trying to reduce the potential for one-shots in a lot of places in the game and we feel it’s time to address that here. We believe the sudden rise in frustration with the Sword is also partially due to the removal of the Stun Gun, which was many Light players’ answer to a fast lunging Sword user in the past. This change removes the essentially one-shot potential of the Sword.

Longer term, we’re going to continue to monitor the Sword and explore some alternative changes that might allow us to nudge the lunge damage back up, but that will take more time and we’d rather try to address this issue now than wait. We’ll also need to see how things change once the re-worked Stun Gun returns, which should be around 6.6.

Additionally, there are several exploits and bugs we’ve become aware of related to performing extra or ‘phantom’ attacks, which we’re aiming to fix in the near future
