Ex-PlayStation Boss Shuhei Yoshida Pushed for God of War Reboot Delay After Realizing It Needed More Polish

While Santa Monica Studio’s God of War reboot that was released in 2018 might possibly be the most impressive reboot we’ve seen of a game series to date, that wasn’t always the case.

Even internally, the game didn’t impress right away, and it was a major concern from PlayStation’s higher-ups that the game was delayed for more polish.

Former PlayStation Studios Boss Thought God of War’s Reboot Was a “Problem” After Trying It Out for the First Time

In a new interview with Game File (locked behind a subscription), former PlayStation boss Shuhei Yoshida was asked about an incident where Creative Director Cory Barlog heard that Yoshida thought the game was “horrible.”

First off, Yoshida clarified that he was “horrified,” and that he didn’t say the game was horrible.

Continuing with it, Yoshida explained, “Yeah, so that was one of the biggest games in development. The company had huge expectations and had an amazing reveal announcement. But it was, like, six months before the planned [2017] launch. I visited the studio and Cory presented and let me play. The game was maybe 80% complete. But I had really struggled to play that one level that Cory wanted me to play. The enemy was shooting at me from behind the camera. I felt really cheated. And there were some frame rate issues and multiple things were not working.”

After what he experienced, Yoshida noted, “Thinking about the time left for the team and all the expectations from the company and maybe even the players, I was like, ‘This is a problem. But, because Cory is such a creative guy and a very nice person and very passionate, I couldn’t tell him. Even though my facial expression was communicating something.”

The ex-PlayStation executive then pushed for the game’s delay after his initial playtest. “So, after the meeting, I went back to [executive producer] Shannon Studstill’s’s office and said to Shannon, ‘We have a problem.’ And eventually we were able to push the game back. The game was planned for October release of that year. We pushed it to April in the next year. So an additional six months. That really helped the team to polish.”

The extra six months is all Santa Monica Studio needed, as the game was a massive hit critically and commercially. Released in April 2018, the God of War reboot is considered a modern masterpiece. It’s sitting at an impressive 94 score on Metacritic, and a 94 too on Open Critic.

The 2018 reboot was followed up by God of War Ragnarok released in 2022, and was even considered a step up to the first one in eveyr way. Our review of it on PC, which was released last year, garnered a 10/10 score. While Santa Monica Studio hasn’t announced a new entry in the series, the developers are still supporting the game somewhat with patches that bring in new content from time to time.

No word yet on what will happen to the franchise’s future, as the long-rumored God of War Greek Saga remaster has yet to be confirmed by Sony.

Apex Legends Gets New Update on April 8 That Includes Weapon and Character Adjustments

While Respawn Entertainment just issued a patch download yesterday for Apex Legends, the studio has released a new one today that includes legend changes. This is a server-side patch, so players will receive the Apex Legends new update on April 8 just by connecting to the servers, which means no client download is needed.

It’s a pretty significant list of changes for a server-side patch, but we’re not complaining.

Here’s what’s new per Respawn:

Legends:

Ash:

  • Increased ultimate’s max distance travel time from 1.4s -> 2.5s
  • Increased ultimate’s minimum distance travel time from 0.3s -> 0.5s

Mirage:

  • Increased the number of decoys created during Mirage’s ultimate from 5 -> 6

Conduit:

  • Increased tactical health regen per tick from 3 -> 4

Seer:

  • Decreased the time for Seer’s tactical to hit targets from 1.4s -> 0.8s
  • Decreased the time for Seer’s tactical to finish from 1.0s -> 0.9s

Weapons:

Assault Rifles

  • Increased Hemlok headshot damage by 2
  • Increased Hemlok magazine sizes by +3 for the base, white, and blue mags

SMG

  • Normalized the Volt hipfire to match other SMGs
  • Increased all SMG headshot damage by 1
  • Decreased P2020 damage from 25 -> 24

Energy Weapon

  • Increased the vertical and horizontal movement in the recoil pattern of the L-Star
  • Reduced the projectile size for the L-Star

Misc.

  • Ult gained from knocks and assists with Accelerated Weapons has been reduced from 30% -> 20%
  • Fixed an issue where assists with Accelerated Weapons would sometimes not grant additional ult charge

Developers Are Happy About the Switch 2’s Extra Power and Ease of Development

Although it may not look like it, the Nintendo Switch 2 has quite a bit of power under its hood. In fact, several developers who are planning to release games on the platform at its launch have already expressed a great deal of excitement, not only about what it has to offer in terms of graphical and performance but also about its unique hardware features and how Nintendo has made it easy to develop and port games to it.

Nintendo is also actively working with developers to create Switch 2 games.

Switch 2 Hardware Doesn’t Seem All Too Complicated on the Development Front

Speaking to Gamefile (locked behind a paywall) during a hands-on with the Switch 2, Dennis Shirk, executive producer for the Civilization franchise, briefly discussed their work on the Switch 2 version of Civilization VII. He expressed that they were “extremely happy” with the horsepower of the Switch 2, which enabled them to port over a “mid-tier” PC level of quality version of the game to the platform. Although the platform is new, Shirk explained that Nintendo made it pretty easy to port over, offering direct support to the studio, which included what he called a “great” SDK (software development kit).

Elsewhere, Rob Nelson, head of technology at Avalanche Software, the studio behind Hogwarts Legacy, also had some thoughts about the Switch 2. He notes some of the limitations they had with the original Switch version and how compromises had to be made to get it to work. Graphically, the original Switch version is nowhere near the level of that of the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC versions. With the Switch 2, they rebuilt the entire portable experience since the console allowed quality closer to those other platforms. This also included the removal of hard loads, with players now able to seamlessly walk through specific locations that had them without seeing a loading of sorts.

Nintendo also worked with Avalanche on the development of the port, which the studio said wasn’t much of a challenge anyway.

All in all, things appear to be going smoothly when developing for the Switch 2, though we can’t say we’re surprised considering the console likely builds off of the original Switch’s development tools, which many studios already found pretty easy to work with.

Both Civilization VII and Hogwarts Legacy will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 when it launches this June. Preorders are now available, except for those living in Canada and the United States, as they’ve been delayed due to ongoing tariffs.

The Outlast Trials New Update Deploys New Event “It’s Time to Escape”

Two weeks after dropping a major patch for The Outlast Trials, Red Barrels continues its awesome support of the game by releasing a new update, which ushers in a new game event called “It’s Time to Escape.”

Alongside this. Part 2 of the Under Surveillance limited-time mode is also part of the roll out. Players will see this as The Outlast Trials update 1.000.020, and this new patch also includes Reagent Reborn experimental changes. If you’re playing on last-gen, you should see this patch as The Outlast Trials download version 1.22, and it features the same new content.

The Outlast Trials Latest Update Brings New Game Event “It’s Time to Escape”

Minecraft Console Update 1.017 Released for Patch 1.21.72

Current-gen console gamers will see a prompt to download Minecraft update 1.017 today, and this is for Bedrock 1.21.72! Expect a short list of fixes that touch on crashing issues and more.

For reference, we’ve also added the changelog for the latest patch released after the Spring to Life update.

Minecraft Console Update 1.017 Patch Notes

Here are the fixes that were rolled out today by Mojang that addresses issues in the massive Spring to Life content drop.

Fixes

  • Fixed several crashes that could occur during gameplay
  • Sea Pickles no longer replace blocks when being placed on a partial block
  • Fixed an issue that could cause renamed Book & Quill to become blank (MCPE-194195)
  • Fixed some cases of players’ locations being massively rewound during long server stalls

We’ve also included the changelog in patch 1.21.71 which was released in the last week of March.

Fixes

  • Fixes flashing screen on certain devices when loading a world at the end of the progress screen (MCPE-190555)
  • Fixed an issue that prevented buttons for external links from working correctly on iOS devices
  • Fixed mobs playing their death animation twice as quickly as they should have (MCPE-191525)
  • Fixed client and server desynchronizing on entities the client erroneously thought were dead

Chances are, we’ll be getting more hotfixes to the game given the scope of the Spring to Life content. Once we know more, we’ll have it up on the site.

PGA Tour 2K25 Update 1.010 Addresses Achievement, Gameplay Concerns

The latest patch for PGA Tour 2K25 is now available on all platforms, as HB Studios has putted out a significant update that addresses various gameplay-related issues. Players will see this as PGA Tour 2K25 update 1.010 (number version 1.010.000), and this address issues with achievements and quests.

This also fixes issues about the dynamic rounds when playing The Majors (nope, it’s not just happening to you), adjustments to MyCareer and a lot more. This is a pretty good patch compared to what we usually get, though there’s no new content mentioned by the developers.

PGA Tour 2K25’s Latest Patch Addresses a Lot of Gameplay Issues via Download 1.010

Here is the list of known issue sorted out by today’s update via HB Studios on what they call patch 3.2.1:

  • Addressed reported concerns of achievements and quests not triggering as intended
  • Addressed reported concerns related to crashes across various game modes, including MyCAREER, Ranked Solo, Divot Derby and more
  • Optimization for default ball drop zone locations
  • Optimizations to MyCAREER features, including general connectivity; training scenarios; outdated text, labels and player animations;
  • Optimizations to sponsor reputation loss after performing unwell in an event to be less severe
  • Addressed reported concerns related to dynamic rounds when playing The Majors; increasing all but final round from 9 to 18 holes
  • Optimizations to Course Designer camera tools U/I
  • Optimizations to Quests, including daily quest round total score
  • Optimizations to Ranked Tours and Societies, including load times; visual presentation; general stability and localization; event progression; and compensation when playing against a disconnected opponent(s)
  • General optimizations to Career XP exploitation, cross-platform notifications, and participation reward titles

Destiny 2 New Patch 8.2.5.4 Arrives on April 8

Bungie has deployed the latest Destiny 2 patch as version 8.2.5.4! This is a minor update that fixes an issue with Vesper’s dungeon, weapons, perks and more. For current-gen console players, this will appear as Destiny 2 patch download 1.152 (complete number 1.152.000)/

If you’re still playing on last-gen consoles, this will show up as Destiny 2 update 3.57, and it should be a relatively minor download.

Minecraft Update 3.10 Slots in Bedrock Version 1.21.72 for a Short List of Fixes

Mojang has released another minor patch for Minecraft today on all platforms, which aims to reduce crashing and other gameplay issues. Players will see this as Minecraft update 3.10, which is for Bedrock version 1.21.72.

This patch should be available on platforms today, and will appear as Minecraft patch version 1.017 (complete number: 0.017.000) on current-gen platforms.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows Update 1.004.059 Adds Game and PS5 Pro Improvements via Patch 1.0.2

Following the release of a minor patch for Assassin’s Creed Shadows last month, Ubisoft has now deployed the first major update for the game today, April 8. Players will be able to download Assassin’s Creed Shadows update 1.004.059, and this is for patch 1.0.2!

Expect a host of new features added such as being able to sell or dismantle multiple items, a way to reset mastery nodes and a lot more. Those playing on a PS5 Pro, the promised support for the console has been added as well with PSSR, and an improvement on Balanced mode. There are, of course, bug fixes as well, which are all detailed in the official patch notes.

Horse Auto-Follow and Speed improvements

Auto-Follow the road is back to help you navigate while riding your horse. Simply activate the pathfinder to enable Auto-Follow, and your horse will automatically follow the road to your marked destination.

We’ve also increased horse speeds in cities so you can get to your destination faster.

Mastery Nodes Reset

Is your stealth build not sneaky enough? Could Yasuke pack a heavier punch? We’ve added the option to reset Mastery Nodes in the skill trees so you can test different playstyles and skills for both Naoe and Yasuke.

Selling / Dismantling multiple items

To help you save time when trading with merchants, we’ve added the option to tag and sell/dismantle multiple items in shops, or when dismantling gear at the Forge in the Hideout.

Investigation Board Shortcut

With Title Update 1.0.2, holding the OPTION button for a few seconds will take you directly to the Investigation Board, while a single press will open the inventory menu.

This update now allows you to easily launch the World Map, Inventory, or Investigation Board smoothly as you play.

PS5 Pro

  • Added PSSR support for PS5 pro
    • Please note that players who have been playing on PS5 Pro prior to Title Update 1.0.2 will need to manually enable PSSR in the video tab of the pause menu.
    • Balanced mode will now feature Raytraced Specular.
      • I.e. Visual fidelity will be closer to PS5 Pro Quality mode than Performance mode.

  • Uncapped the Hideout to above 30 FPS on Performance mode.
  • Improved balancing of boss fights.
  • Fixed an issue where the pathfinder line appears in photos taken in Photomode.

Quests

  • Fixed multiple quest issues with markers failing to spawn or characters not being interactable.
  • Addressed an issue where Ise Sadatame can be killed after reviving him while previously being knocked down by explosives during ‘Escort Ise Sadatame’ objective in Yamashiro.
  • During “The Wheel Unmasked” quest, some players cannot exit the quest or quit to memories when selecting the options from the menu.
  • Players will no longer be stuck in the Objective board tutorial after loading into the first Naoe memory if completed after ‘From Spark to Flames’.
  • Fixed an issue in ‘A True Igan’ meditation, where the Eavesdrop objective cannot be completed if Naoe kills the Oda clan Ashigaru before reaching the objective location.
  • Fixed an issue in ‘Brothers in Arms’ quest where the quest can’t progress by talking to ronin if the prisoners were freed first.
  • In ‘Flames of War’, the Igan leader will now fight back.
  • ‘Wake Up Call’: An issue where Nagato won’t attack Naoe once he enters the Guard Break state during the ‘Duel with Nagato’ objective.
  • ‘Wake up Call’: Objectives during the ‘Duel with Nagato’ now correctly update.
  • Kumabe Ujiie no longer stops walking after talking with one of the ronins if the player doesn’t follow him immediately during ‘Follow Kumabe Ujiie’ objective.
  • Players are no longer rolled back to the beginning quest and stealth sequence if they die to the brute in ‘Shinobi Warfare’.
  • Addressed an issue where Sanada Masatoyo only uses one attack if Yasuke stays close to him during ‘Nobutsuna’s Students’ objective.
  • Yoshisada can now be interrupted while drinking his health potion in ‘Silver Smugglers’.
  • Addressed an issue where the game crashes after killing an NPC in ‘The Stray Dogs’.
  • During the ‘Protect the Dog’ objective, enemies are now identifiable with quest markers and are easier to find.
  • Addressed an issue where the fight with Kimura Kei is instantly finished when using Crushing Shockwave to defeat him during ‘Fighting for the Cause’ quest.
  • ‘The Price of Rice’: fixed an issue where the Drunk Samurai will not attack Naoe if he takes damage from an Assassination attempt while unconscious.
  • ‘Losing Hand’: Player is no longer desynchronized after successfully completing the quest.
  • Rewards on the Oni-yuri card within The League Target Board, will now appear as claimed after players complete the quest ‘Sweet Revenge’.

Spoilers

  • ‘Mibuno Showdown’: Corrected an issue so players can now deal damage to Momochi Sandayu during transition to phase 2.
  • Fixed an issue where Momochi Sandayu would stop fighting during ‘Duel Momochi Sandayu’ objective.
  • Players are no longer desynchronized if they attack and kill Usami Yoshiko in ‘The Betrayers’ quest.
  • Addressed an issue where Yasuke could use allies before agreeing to ally with Naoe.
  • Fixed an issue where Hattori Hanzo wouldn’t move after the user switches to Yasuke during ‘Wolves and Foxes’.
  • ‘My Name is Yasuke’: Duarte won’t get stuck if Yasuke shoots him from an elevated position.

Stealth

  • Improved Double Assassinations.
  • Improved Naoe’s responsiveness in some instances.
  • Fixed an issue where an NPC does not die after being killed by a finisher or assassination.
  • Naoe can no longer perform Double Assassinations without learning the ability.
  • Fixed the FX on the Shinobi Bell when it is thrown far away.
  • Fixed an issue where destroying the alarm bell does not always make NPCs investigate it.

Combat, AI and Balancing

  • Improved balancing of boss fights.
  • Addressed various NPC behavior and animation issues.
  • Improved the accuracy of Yasuke’s Teppo.
  • Knocked out NPCs no longer stand up immediately when attacking them.
  • NPCs and enemies now react correctly to Shinobi Bells.
  • Fixed an issue where Yasuke could block with his teppo after being dismounted instead of his melee weapon.
  • Yasuke is now able to call his mount while having his sword unsheathed during combat.
  • Yasuke is no longer immune to enemy damage after using the ‘Samurai Dual’ Ability.
  • The ‘Staggering Blast’ Yumi Bow ability now works correctly on enemies.
  • Fine-tuned Yasuke’s ‘Dark Burst’ and ‘Falcon’s Eye’ abilities, so they no longer one-shot enemies.
  • Fixed arrow firing so they consistently get released when fully charged.
  • Addressed how Naoe’s light attacks could disarm enemies.
  • Corrected the ‘Entanglement’ ability so it now works with the light attack button.
  • Fixed an issue where bare fists and kicks contributed to affliction build up.
  • Fixed an issue where Yasuke could perform a ‘Brutal Assassination’ with a ranged weapon in a specific animation.
  • Improved Yasuke’s Power Dash ability, so it doesn’t miss the target while the enemy is in an attack animation.

Weapons, Gear & Items

  • Fixed various bugs related to Transmog variant visuals.
  • If wearing store bought items, both characters will now appear dressed in the latest save.  Very demure, very mindful.
  • Addressed an issue where all horse saddles were uncommon.

Save Files

  • Corrected an error that blocked manual saves after completing the ‘Heart of an Assassin’ quest.
  • Fixed an issue where a “save game” is performed if players are dead or dying.
  • Addressed an issue where no autosave is created before starting a contract quest.
  • Reason/Error Code messages are now correctly displayed for corrupted save files.
  • Fixed an issue where players attempting to save and load during the ‘Get on your mount’ objective caused Rin to spawn dismounted and follow Yasuke on foot, blocking progression.

World

  • Fixed an issue where there was no snow in winter. Frosty’s back!
  • Addressed various issues with synchronization points not triggered correctly.
  • Addressed various instances where players or NPCs could get stuck or fall through objects.
  • Fixed an issue where the Sakamoto Castle reward chest didn’t give loot if the player opens it during ‘Requiem for Rokkaku’.
  • Adjusted the positions of certain loot chests in Castles.
  • Fixed an issue with the storage room that cannot be opened after defeating Nakatomi and talking to Ibuki in Hijiyama Fort.
  • Adjusted multiple behavioral errors with the Pathfinder.

World Activities

  • Naoe can no longer enter Yasuke’s Kofuns. Get out of my room.
  • Addressed an issue where players could pass through movable objects while sprinting inside kofuns.

Miscellaneous

  • Addressed an issue where the game would remain on a loading screen when losing connection to Ubisoft services after purchasing a Helix Credits Pack.
  • Fixed an issue where items claimed in Vault were not unlocked.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Make it Personal” achievement did not unlock when the first weapon engraved was from another character than the one currently used.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Limitless” achievement did not unlock upon obtaining a legendary piece of gear for each type.

Platform-Specific Issues Fixed

PC

  • Players can now toggle between DRS and fixed resolution modes, regardless of upscaler quality.
  • Fixed an issue where the overall preset was set to Custom in the Scalability menu after changing the preset and reloading the game.
  • Fixed various mouse and keyboard issues.

Steam Deck

  • Fixed an issue where observe targets were not visible from 80m on Steam Deck.
  • Corrected an error where the default controller configuration didn’t show the button actions for L2 and R2 on Steam Deck.

Mac OS

  • RTSpec can now be enabled for high-end Macs.
  • Mouse and keyboard now work correctly when the game boots in windowed mode.
  • Fixed the HDR toggle so it doesn’t remain on after toggling off or switching to a non-HDR display.
  • Fixed the mouse cursor remaining on the screen after pressing home button while using a controller.
  • “Save Report” prompt is now visible in the Benchmark results screen.
  • The mouse is no longer tracked when outside of the game window.

PS5 & PS5 Pro

  • Fixed button prompts for “Internet Connection Lost” messages when players would lose connection during audio language pack downloads.

Given the magnitude of the patch, don’t be surprised to see a hotfix be rolled out by Ubisoft for any issues that might arise from it.

Destiny 2 Down and Servers Go Offline for Patch 8.2.5.4 on April 8

Guardians having issues logging in to Destiny 2 today (April 8), you might be encountering sign-in errors and whatnot. It’s not you, as Bungie has taken the game’s servers offline temporarily to conduct maintenance.

During this time, players won’t be able to login or do anything aside from look at the start screen. Once maintenance is over, or we’ere near its completion time, players will be prompted to download patch 8.2.5.4 on all platforms, which will bring another set of fixes.

    • Destiny 2 and all APIs will be brought offline for expected maintenance.
    • Players will be removed from activities.
    • Destiny 1 may be impacted.
10:00 AM PDT -7 UTC
    • The latest Destiny 2 update will be available across all platforms and regions.
    • Players will be able to log back into Destiny 2.
    • Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing.
    • The Destiny 2 API will be brought online.
    • Clan features may remain offline until maintenance is complete.
12:00 PM PDT -7 UTC
    • Destiny 2 maintenance is expected to conclude.
    • Console players who encounter issues updating should restart their console and try downloading the update.
    • Players who observe issues should report to the #Help forum.

Nintendo Switch 2 Game Key Cards Can Be Resold and Lent Out Like Physical Games

With the release of the Nintendo Switch 2, the company is introducing several new game formats that might be a bit confusing, at least until they become more common.

One of these is the game key card, which is a format between physical and digital games, but it still works like a regular game cartridge.

Game Key Cards Not Tied to Account or Console

Thost not familiar what a game card is, it’s essentially an almost-empty cartridge that requires an initial download to function. When you insert the card into the console for the first time, it will ask you to download the game data. Once this is done, the game behaves just like a physical game. You’ll need the cartridge in the console to play, but you can also resell or lend it out without any issues. This is different from the “virtual game card,” another new Nintendo Switch 2 idea, which allows users to share digital games with friends.

There are still some questions about the “game key cards” for the Nintendo Switch 2, but a Nintendo representative has cleared up some concerns in a recent interview. It assures that these cards can be treated similarly to physical games in certain ways, including the possibility of resale and lending.

Speaking to GameSpot, Nintendo’s Tetsuya Sasaki confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 game key cards won’t be tied to your account or console, meaning that these cards can be resold or lent out just like physical games. This confirmation further reassures users that the game key cards are not restricted to a single account or console, making it easier to pass on the game to others.

Even though the game on the key card is mostly digital, it won’t be tied to an account or console. This means you can resell or lend it, and the new user will have to download the game again when they put the card into their console.

In other news, Nintendo plans a flexible pricing approach for Switch 2 games, with prices potentially exceeding $80 based on factors like development and gameplay depth. In addition, Nintendo’s Switch 2 pricing decisions are not directly influenced by tariffs announced by Donald Trump.

World War Z New Major Update Version 1.66 Adds Reworked Extinction, Mutators

Those hard at work getting rid of zombies in World War Z, Saber Interactive has plopped a new content patch this April 8 on platforms! Players will see this as World War Z new update version 1.66, adds new cosmetics and reworks Extinction mode.

Those on PS5/Xbox Series X|S, you’ll see this patch as WWZ update 1.029 (full version 1.029.000), and it should be a smaller download compared ot the last-gen versions.

World War Z Extinction Gets Reworked as New Content Gets Added on April 8

Here are the new content and what gotr fixed in today’s patch per Saber Interactive:

New Content

  • Reworked Extinction Mode:
    • – The mode is now unlocked after completing any map on the Insane difficulty or higher.
    • – The mode now includes two Episodes to choose from and the reward is given for fully completing one of them.
    • – The weapon skin reward will now change every week together with the Episodes.
  • Added Community Challenges: Time-limited challenges with a shared goal for all players.
  • Added the Royal Vengeance Heavy Weapons Skin Pack: Skin rewards for the Machine Gun MAG5, Payload Rifle BF25, and Heavy Assault Shotgun Taiga-12 for completing the Community Challenges.
  • Added the Knight Heavy Weapons Skin Pack: Skin rewards for the MGL Hailstorm MGL, RPG Launcher RPGL4, and Heavy Assault Shotgun Taiga-12 for completing Extinction Mode.
  • Added four new custom portrait frames: Red Light, Memento Mori, To the Top, and Virologist.
  • Added seven new mutators: Hot Stuff, Сluster Shells, Doppelganger, Fire-resistant, Acid Spit, Effective Defense, and Overprice.
  • Reworked three mutators: Epilogue, Sell-out, and Taxes.

Resolved Issues

  • Fixed several connection issues with starting full-party sessions.
  • Fixed an issue where the player would not receive Blue Coins in Extinction Mode if the skin reward was already obtained.
  • Removed the white stripe from under the minimap.
  • Fixed an issue with incorrect skin icons for the MAG5.
  • Fixed an issue with unlocking the “Waster” portrait frame.
  • Fixed localization for Defensive SMG “G-Force” perk in Japanese.
  • Fixed localization for Classic Bullpup Rifle “Scorpion Sting” and “Adrenaline” perks in Japanese.

Hopefully, there’s another content drop or DLC planned for World War Z, and if we get wind of that, we’ll let our readers know.

Hell Let Loose Update 1.043 Implements Hotfix for Patch 17 Issues

Just last week, Expression Games released the big Hell Let Loose Patch 17 content drop to players that brought in a new map, gameplay improvmements and more. Unfortunately, it also spawned a few issues that affected a lot of things.

Today, the developers released Hell Let Loose update 1.043 (complete version 1.043.000), which implements a host of fixes for those issues. Don’t expect this patch to fix everything, as it’s very, very hard to get all the bugs in one go.

Hell Let Loose New Update Fixes Issues From Patch 17

XP Bug Fixes:

We have noticed that a lot of people reported that Support Effectiveness XP is immediately granted to users who ping enemy locations, allowing them to confirm locations via the scoreboard. To combat this, we are doing the following:

  • Rewarding player XP and scores for accurate marks or pings on the tac-map has been disabled.
  • XP and scores for accurate markers or pings are only rewarded to the player upon: the players death, the player leaving the server or the match ending.

Bug Fixes

  • [A6] Players could see beneath the map and fall through in sector A6 of Tobruk.
  • Damage indicator remained permanently on screen after redeploying.

Admin Camera Fixes

  • Missing keybinds for Admin Camera in the keybindings menu.
  • The R key still has no functionality when unlocked from a target, but that button prompt has been removed. When locked to a target it still has the original functionality of Toggling locked rotation

Environment Fixes Across Tobruk

  • [I6] Unnecessary fence removed.
  • [J5] Certain area looked too symmetrical.
  • [D8] Road spline texture visibly splitting.

Improvements

You may also notice an improvement to the interiors across Tobruk as well, courtesy of our art department

The studio also talks about future updates, and there are a few issues that will be addressed:

  • Loading into queue UI disappearance – Thank you to all the players who have noted this issue. Although frustrating we wanted to assure this bug does not impact your spot in the queue and only visually removes the UI showing you exactly what spot you were in.
  • The Leichte Afrika Division Uniform on Support, the backpack is clipping with the fuel tank.

No word yet on when we can expect that patch to go live, but once it’s out, expect it up here on MP1st.

Fortnite Update 4.63 for v34.30 Released; Brings Sabrina Carpenter and More

Fortnite Festival is getting a major update today, as Sabrina Carpenter enters the stage as part of Fortnite update 4.63! This also brings a bunch of new rewards, a new music track and more.

The patch, which is referred to by Epic Games as v34.30, also brings Ballistic’s first Test Grounds update. There are also new weapons, and of course, gameplay fixes in tow with today’s download.

  • Additionally, you’ll be able to join a jam quicker — just with a single button press! If you’re the one starting the jam, you can instantly kick it off with all loops of a Jam Track.
  • Tuning Up Gets a Tune-Up – Properly syncing your audio-visual (A.V.) setup is critical for the best Festival experience, and we’ve made the tune-up process more accurate than ever before. (As a reminder, you can start a tune-up from the Backstage of the Main Stage or Battle Stage!) Also, you’ll be able to set up separate tune-up profiles if you regularly alternate between a Bluetooth headset and a soundbar, for example.
  • Bring Your Favorite Outfits Onstage -Starting in Season 8, all of the Outfits you’ve favorited in your Locker will be added to the random mix of bandmates who can fill in for your band onstage! The Division 2 Latest Update 2.03 Applies Y6S3.2 Patch for Easter Event and More

Agents, the latest patch for The Division 2 is now live for Y6S3.2 and this brings a new Easter event and a bunch of gameplay improvements. Players can see this as The Division 2 update 2.03 download, and should be installable now even if the servers are still down.

The big changes made here include the Friend Referral program has been upgraded, Descent mode now accessible at a later level, and of course, a new limited-time event that brings new rewards.

The Division 2’s New Update Version 2.03 Brings New Content to All Players

FRIEND REFERRAL

  • The Friend Referral program has been updated! Invitees will now also receive a level 30 boost, in addition to the existing rewards: the Stinger Hunter Outfit, Stinger LMG, and Stinger Timepiece Backpack Trophy.
  • To claim these rewards, referred players just need to play for 2 hours.

DESCENT

  • Descent is now accessible from player level 20 (previously level 2).

SPRING EVENT

  • Easter Event Projects Chain starts on April 8 and ends on April 22.
  • The event is available for all players that have project system unlocked.
  • Complete seven new projects to earn rewards, including various caches, a Rabbit Season outfit, and a Named Weapon.

MODIFIERS & SEASONAL JOURNEY

  • Fixed the issue with certain enemies—such as Marauder Drones, Warhounds, destructible props, and mini tanks—incorrectly receiving enemy modifiers.
  • Fixed the issue with equipped Active Modifiers activating when inspecting a loot pile.
  • Fixed the issue with the Fortified Shield Modifier not updating the visual HP value for the Shield Skill in the Skills menu.

  • Fixed the issue with progression in Journey Mission 6 being blocked if players advanced to tier 5 while required to maintain tier 4 for a set duration.
  • Fixed the issue with the Seasonal Journey tutorial not appearing when leaving the BOO through any exit after completing activation.

UI

  • Fixed the issue with missing chevron icons on the Brutus, Adrestia, Dare, Cricket, and The Drill named weapons.
  • Fixed the issue with all three Pulse skill variants being available upon unlocking the first skill.
  • Fixed the issue with the ‘Complete Prologue’ requirement still being displayed when attempting to use the level 30 boost before finishing the BOO skirmish or player activation.

OTHER

  • Fixed the issue with players being unable to boost to New York at the pilot until reaching level 30.
  • Fixed the issue with The Fool Backpack clipping with multiple shirts and vests from the Store, and The Fool Shirt clipping with various Store backpacks.
  • Fixed the issue where Olivia Vance and the NPC inside the room had no voice-over when speaking after accepting the Missing Curators side mission.
  • Fixed the issue with ANNA’s debriefing voice-overs playing twice at the end of each scout.
  • Fixed the issue with ANNA’s briefing voiceovers not triggering at the start of Scout missions.
  • Fixed the issue with Chirpy and Lucky Backpack Trophies displaying incorrect icons.

We don’t get a lot of patches for the game, but if Ubisoft releases another one, expect it here on MP1st.

Fortnite Update 34.30 Out for Test Grounds Patch and Sabrina Carpenter

Pop superstar Sabrina Carpenter has been added to Fortnite in update version 34.30. Those on consoles should see this as Fortnite update 1.000.174 and several of her songs will be available in Season 8 of Fortnite Festival.

Alongside that, there are also new rewards, new content creator changes and more. For those still playing on last-gen platforms, this should show up as Fortnite download version 4.63.

Can’t matchmake in Fortnite? It’s not a server outage, but the game’s servers being pulled down temporarily on April 8 to bring the v34.30 patch to gamers.

Same with every Fortnite planned downtime, this maintenance period will take a few hours to complete on all platforms.

Fortnite Servers Are Down on April 8? It’s for a New Patch

According to Epic, servers will go down starting 4 am ET/1 am PT/4 pm HKT. While it’s not specified how long the downtime is, it’s usually 2-3 hours, though it’s sometimes longer.

The downtime is the initiated to bring the v34.30 patch that brings Sabrina Carpenter to the game and more. While the actual patch notes aren’t available yet, here’s some of the info we have right now courtesy of the devs.

The Division 2 Down to Bring Y6S3.2 Patch on April 8

Ubisoft is about to release the latest major update for The Division 2 on April 8, but before that happens, the game’s servers need to go down for maintenance.

This will once again take hours, during which time players will be unable to login and play the game. Once the servers are back up, players will be able to experience the new event and fixes in the Y6S3.2 title update.

Why Are The Division 2 Servers Down on April 8?

The Division 2 servers will be down starting, 3:30 am EDT/12:30 am PDT/9:30 am CEST/3:30 PM HKT. Expect the downtime to last for at least three hours, and sometimes even longer.

The patch being rolled out will bring the Easter event for the game and more.

FRIEND REFERRAL

  • The Friend Referral program has been updated! Invitees will now also receive a level 30 boost, in addition to the existing rewards: the Stinger Hunter Outfit, Stinger LMG, and Stinger Timepiece Backpack Trophy.

  • To claim these rewards, referred players just need to play for 2 hours.

DESCENT

  • Descent is now accessible from player level 20 (previously level 2).

SPRING EVENT

  • Easter Event Projects Chain starts on April 8 and ends on April 22.

  • The event is available for all players that have project system unlocked.

  • Complete seven new projects to earn rewards, including various caches, a Rabbit Season outfit, and a Named Weapon.

MODIFIERS & SEASONAL JOURNEY

  • Fixed the issue with certain enemies—such as Marauder Drones, Warhounds, destructible props, and mini tanks—incorrectly receiving enemy modifiers.

  • Fixed the issue with equipped Active Modifiers activating when inspecting a loot pile.

  • Fixed the issue with the Fortified Shield Modifier not updating the visual HP value for the Shield Skill in the Skills menu.

  • Fixed the issue with the number of acquired Modifiers not displaying correctly when inspecting an inactive Modifier.

  • Fixed the issue with progression in Journey Mission 6 being blocked if players advanced to tier 5 while required to maintain tier 4 for a set duration.

  • Fixed the issue with the Seasonal Journey tutorial not appearing when leaving the BOO through any exit after completing activation.

UI

  • Fixed the issue with missing chevron icons on the Brutus, Adrestia, Dare, Cricket, and The Drill named weapons.

  • Fixed the issue with all three Pulse skill variants being available upon unlocking the first skill.

  • Fixed the issue with the ‘Complete Prologue’ requirement still being displayed when attempting to use the level 30 boost before finishing the BOO skirmish or player activation.

OTHER

  • Fixed the issue with players being unable to boost to New York at the pilot until reaching level 30.

  • Fixed the issue with The Fool Backpack clipping with multiple shirts and vests from the Store, and The Fool Shirt clipping with various Store backpacks.

  • Fixed the issue where Olivia Vance and the NPC inside the room had no voice-over when speaking after accepting the Missing Curators side mission.

  • Fixed the issue with ANNA’s debriefing voice-overs playing twice at the end of each scout.

  • Fixed the issue with ANNA’s briefing voiceovers not triggering at the start of Scout missions.

  • Fixed the issue with Chirpy and Lucky Backpack Trophies displaying incorrect icons.

Upcoming Star Wars Turn-Based Tactics Game to Be Titled Star Wars: Zero Company

Last month, Lucasfilm Games announced that we would be getting our first look at a new Star Wars turn-based tactics game at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration set to be held in Japan later this month.

While info about is scarce, it’s been revealed that the game will be co-developed by Respawn Entertainment and Bit Reactor.

Respawn and Bit Reactor’s Star Wars Tactics Game Now Has a Title

According to information we uncovered during our recent investigation, the upcoming Star Wars turn-based tactics game from Respawn Entertainment and Bit Reactor, to be published by Electronic Arts, will be titled Star Wars: Zero Company.

The game is set to be officially revealed at Star Wars Celebration Japan on April 19, 2025.

In our earlier report—where we also mentioned that the project was internally known as “Bruno”—MP1st uncovered never-before-seen in-engine screenshots from mid-2023. The images showed an isometric tactical view featuring a party of characters, including two Mandalorians and a droid taking cover from Stormtroopers during a prisoner rescue mission, as well as a hub area set in Kafrene Mining Colony with options such as Armory, Holotable, Special Ops, and Black Market.

Expect more details about the game to be revealed later this month. Chances are, we’ll get a release date, gameplay trailer and an overview of what makes it stand out of the dozens of Star Wars games out there.

He mentioned that the company had already completed its pricing plans before the tariffs were announced.

When discussing the current Nintendo Switch lineup, Bowser confirmed that the prices for the original Nintendo Switch, the Nintendo Switch OLED model, and the Nintendo Switch Lite will remain unchanged. Nintendo plans to continue offering these models alongside the new, Switch 2.

Bowser also emphasized that Nintendo will keep supporting the original Switch, with over 150 million units in use globally. While some users may choose to upgrade to the Switch 2, Bowser acknowledged that not all consumers will be ready for the switch immediately, and the company aims to keep current users engaged for the long term.
