At New York Comic-Con, which is on-going today, Sony announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is swinging to PC this January 30, 2025.

Developing the port is Nixxes Software, the first-party PlayStation studio that ported Ghost of Tsushima to PC earlier this year, and is working on Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered, which is due this month on PS5 and PC. Check out the trailer and different editions that will be available,

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – Standard Edition

  • The complete game
  • All the latest updates since Marvel Spider-Man 2’s PS5 launch, including:
    • 14 new suits
    • New Game+
    • Ultimate Levels
    • New Symbiote Suit Styles
    • Time of Day options
    • Post-Game Achievements
    • Action Figure Mode in Photo Mode

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – Digital Deluxe Edition

Alongside the different editions, Marvel Games Executive Producer Eric Monacelli also confirmed that PC players will be getting all the previously released post-launch content on the PS5 version will be available on PC, and this includes New Game+, new suits, color variants, Photo Mode and more.

Will Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Have Story DLC?

However, another thing Monacelli  confirmed is something fans might have been dreading to hear, and that’s there is “no additional story content” planned for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2! This means the datamined code found nine months ago that mentioned the “Beetle” section of the game isn’t in development at all. It’s a bummer, but can’t say we’re surprised by this development.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was released in October 20, 2023, and garnered a ton of positive reviews. Speaking of which, our review is available here where we state, “Ultimately, Spider-Man 2 checks off the major boxes as an exciting sequel with a compelling story that will hook you in from the get-go.”

Saber Interactive on Managing Tumultuous Game Industry State: We Try to Avoid Over-Inflating Our Games

While more and more people are into playing games, it seems the industry itself is not doing too well with layoffs, studio closures hitting almost every month. One studio that doesn’t seem to be affected is Saber Interactive — the studio behind the recent hit, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2.

Speaking to MP1st in an interview, we asked Saber how they’re managing the rough seas of game development nowadays. Answering our question was Tim Willits, Chief Creative Officer (COO) of Saber Interactive.

MP1st: The gaming industry is in a very bad state right now with layoffs happening every week. How does Saber handle those rough seas?

Tim: The gaming industry has definitely faced challenges recently, especially as we came out of the pandemic, which has shifted the landscape for many developers and studios. At Saber, we are aware of these shifts and are committed to managing our business in a way that ensures success for both our teams and our projects. With studios located around the world, we focus on matching each development team with projects that fit within reasonable budgets and team sizes, always ensuring that the core gameplay experience remains the focus. We try to avoid over-inflating our games, and each project undergoes regular evaluation through production milestones and creative review gates. This approach allows us to remain agile and adaptable, ensuring that the development process is as efficient as possible. Additionally, by having multiple projects running simultaneously across different studios, we maximize resources and studio budgets. And lastly, our philosophy centers around finding the fun in a game as early as possible in development. Once we know what makes a game enjoyable, we build the scope and features around that core experience, giving us the confidence to move forward and develop a polished, focused product. This method not only ensures quality but also helps us balance ambition with practical execution.

Given how almost every game wants to add a deep progression system, loots, live service elements, complex combat systems and the like, Willits does have a point. Most games these days try to cram as many features and “selling points” as they can in order to entice gamers, and sometimes, that backfires.

Our full interview with the studio is hitting the site this weekend, so stay tuned.

New Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Rewards and Map This Week October 18

Destiny‘s Trials of Osiris weekly PvP mode has returned this Friday with a new map and rewards. If you’re wondering about the current rotation, we’ve got you covered: MP1st’s new Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris rewards and map this week October 18, 2024 post lists down all that information in full below.

New Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Rewards This Week October 18 2024:

Trials of Osiris Map:

Dissonance

Flawless Reward:

The Summoner (Auto Rifle)

Reputation System, Trials Engrams, and Adept Farming

Win individual rounds within each match to gain Trials reputation. The amount of reputation you gain increases with each round you’ve won on your card. Earn enough reputation, and you’ll be able to claim a Trials Engram from Saint-14! This engram can be focused into any currently available Trials loot you have previously obtained, or it can be redeemed for a random Trials drop. Your reputation increases after every match completion, based on the number of round-wins on your card, regardless of the result of that match itself (win or lose, 0-5 or 5-4).

Once you have gone Flawless, keep playing! Every win you achieve while at the 7-win level, even if you lose your Flawless, has a chance to drop bonus Trials Engrams, adept weapons, prisms, and even Ascendant Shards. There is no penalty for losing once you’ve made it to the Lighthouse!

When you’re done, you can cash in your 7-win passage for one additional adept drop, granted you have gone Flawless that week. This resets your card so you can start anew.

Report: Call of Duty 2025 to Continue Black Ops Storyline Per Focus Group Meeting

While Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 isn’t even out yet, it seems details on next year’s Call of Duty game has allegedly leaked via focus group meeting.

It seems one attendee managed to sneak in a picture of the presentation for Call of Duty 2025, which has since been compiled by Fumo Leaks.

Here’s a rundown of the info revealed:

CAMPAIGN -The campaign is a black ops story set in 2035! The protagonist this time is David Mason (Black Ops 2). The game is more of an espionage theme with a key point being informational warfare.

HUMAN SHIELDS – As was said in the picture of the meeting I attached to the initial tweet, multiplayer is going to keep the meat shield mechanics! Human shields will now be able to have grenades stuck to them. You can also throw bodies back at enemies!

OMNIMOVEMENT – Omnimovement returns in 2025! You can now do a little wall jump to get the advantage over your enemies! New animations are being added to make the experience even more fluid!

MULTIPLAYER – Multiplayer features the return of classic maps and modes for the black ops franchise! Uplink returns! So does face off and the newgen staple Gunfight! Perks are now shared with the new networked perks mechanic!

ZOMBIES

2025 will focus on round based. RBZ will have one of the biggest maps ever in this game. To compensate, there will be a transportation system like tranzit to traverse around the map.

Zombies also will have an 8 player mode! This may be related to the leaked grief strings as they also directly mentioned a CLASSIC MODE! You’ll spawn with a pistol, have to craft your armor, and hit the walls and box for new guns!

Modes like outbreak and mwz will probably not happen again due to their issues with the community. Round based is taking the spotlight again as I stated before.

Reliable leaker Tom Henderson also corroborated the info, and another reliable leaker who doesn’t wish to be named also told us that the info shared is legitimate. In addition to that, this lines up with our report from August where datamined info confirms the next Call of Duty game will once again be set in the Black Ops universe.

Of course, same as with any game that far out from release, expect things to change. Even in focus testing groups, not everything shown/mentioned is confirmed to be in the project 100%.

As for this year’s Call of Duty game, Black Ops 6 will be released next week on Oct. 25 on consoles and PC, though officially not in Kuwait.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Pre-Load Info and New UI Revealed

In just a week, Call of Duty fans will be able to jump in the latest entry in the franchise, as Black Ops 6 launches on October 25! Before that, players can already pre-load the data a few days before, so you can play the moment servers are  activated.

When Can I Prel-Load Black Ops 6?

Pre-load begins for all platforms on Monday, October 21 at 9 am PT/12 pm ET/12 am HKT.

Note:  Players who pre-ordered Black Ops 6 and already have Call of Duty installed will receive the Black Ops 6 preload as an automatic update to their existing install, similar to previous Call of Duty updates. Players who pre-ordered Black Ops 6, but don’t already have Call of Duty installed can initiate the preload from their platform storefront.

Downloading Black Ops 6 and Warzone as Separate Downloads

Separate Downloads: On most platforms, Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone are separate downloads, offering more control over your files.

However, players who don’t already have Call of Duty: Warzone installed can still choose to download it alongside Black Ops 6 by selecting it in your platform’s install manager. Players can also download Call of Duty: Warzone at any point after their initial Black Ops 6 install from within the new Call of Duty user interface. We encourage players to download Call of Duty: Warzone to get the most out of their Call of Duty experience and prepare for some exciting updates coming in Season 01!

There will be no impact to this change for players who already have Call of Duty: Warzone installed – you will continue to receive game updates automatically as you have in the past.

Downloading Black Ops 6 with Call of Duty: Warzone

On most platforms, Black Ops 6 content will not be included in new Call of Duty: Warzonedownloads. However, on PlayStation, Call of Duty: Warzone players will still download some Black Ops 6 content:

PlayStation 5: PlayStation 5 players who don’t purchase Black Ops 6 will still download Black Ops 6 Multiplayer and Zombies as part of their Call of Duty install. This optimizes the Black Ops 6 download experience for PlayStation 5’s content delivery system. Players can choose to uninstall Multiplayer and Zombies after their initial install or keep them for easy access to free trial weekends or for a future Black Ops 6 purchase.

PlayStation 4: PlayStation 4 players who don’t purchase Black Ops 6 will still download some content that is shared between Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone. This facilitates content optimizations that benefit all players on PlayStation 4.

Call of Duty Gets New UI

Greater File Control: Keep the titles and individual modes that you’re currently playing and uninstall the rest to free up storage space.

With Black Ops 6 on the way, Call of Duty will take up more space on your device if you choose to keep all of your previous content installed since a new game is being added on top of your existing files.

Prepare for the Black Ops 6 download and future Call of Duty updates by actively managing what you have installed. To free up additional space, you can remove content that you’re no longer playing, including full titles and individual modes (e.g. uninstalling single player once you’ve finished the Campaign).

Players can uninstall content within the Call of Duty user interface or via their platform’s install manager. After content is removed, you can reinstall it at any point if you wish to return to those games or modes in the future.

Players will be able to take a tour of the new Call of Duty on October 21 after downloading the pre-launch update.

Meet the New UI: Access featured titles and modes on your Home page, previous titles under All Games, and the latest purchasable content under Store.

At launch, the new interface will include three main hubs: Home, All Games, and Store. Each hub displays all of its content on one page, eliminating the need to scroll. Here’s a rundown of what you’ll find in each section.

Home

The new UI features a landing page that brings together a variety of Call of Duty content. The Home tab showcases various tiles which each serve different purposes:

  • Game Tiles – Unlike the previous Call of Duty UI, players will now be able to directly access games, which have their own self-contained user interfaces. The newest annual title – Black Ops 6 starting on October 25 – and Call of Duty: Warzone will be shown on the Home tab. Other games are accessible via the All Games tab.
  • Featured Tile – This tile can showcase a variety of top content such as modes, maps, and Battle Passes depending on what is new and most relevant at the time.
  • What’s Hot Row – Similar to today’s What’s Hot row, these tiles highlight new playlists, bundles, etc. and give players easy access to that content.
  • Last Played Tile – This tile gives players quick access to what they played most recently. When you first log in to the new interface, this tile will be a fourth What’s Hot option until you’ve played a game within the UI

Depending on your preference, you can access game content through both the Game Tiles and any modes or playlists that are elevated to the Featured Tile or What’s Hot Row.

All Games

Cycle to the All Games tab to view your full library of Call of Duty titles dating back to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare® (2019). Cross-launch into owned titles, purchase unowned titles, and manage your installations from here.

Store

This tab will give players a path to access the Call of Duty in-game stores and showcase any other top purchasable content. The full Call of Duty in-game stores will be accessible at the game-level of the UI within Black Ops 6, Call of Duty: Warzone, etc. This tab sends players to those full stores.

New COD UI Phases

Phase 1: Pre-Black Ops 6 Launch (October 21 – October 24)

Initially, there will be a transition period from October 21 through 24 when the new UI goes live before Black Ops 6 launches.

During these few days, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III and Call of Duty: Warzone will be the primary Game Tiles on the Home tab and players will cross-launch into those games. Modern Warfare III will retain its legacy UI. Call of Duty: Warzone will retain its legacy UI until the Season 01 update.

The Store tab will direct players into the full Modern Warfare III and Call of DutyWarzone in-game stores via cross-launch.

Phase 2: Post-Black Ops 6 Launch (October 25 – )

When Black Ops 6 launches, it will replace Modern Warfare III, making Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone the primary Game Tiles on the Home tab. Players will be able to instantly access Black Ops 6 and cross-launch into Call of Duty: Warzone.

Players who wish to continue playing Modern Warfare III can access it via cross-launch on the All Games tab or the Last Played Tile if that’s the content you’ve played most recently.

For players who have purchased Black Ops 6, the Store tab will now direct you to the full Black Ops 6 in-game store.

Black Ops 6 will have its own individual user interface designed to easily get players into the modes and content they want to play. Players can access Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies from the Black Ops 6 game UI. Look out for new updates to the gunsmith, playlist selection, and social showcase within Black Ops 6!

Phase 3: Season 01 ()

When Season 01 begins, the UI will enter its fully realized state. Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone will continue to be the primary Game Tiles on the Home tab and players will be able to instantly access both Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone for a faster, more direct path to gameplay.

The Store tab will now direct all players to the full Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone in-game stores based on what you have installed.

A Battle Pass tab will be introduced in Season 01 with similar functionality as the Store tab, directing players to the full Battle Pass within Black Ops 6 or Call of Duty: Warzone.

With the Season 01 update, Call of Duty: Warzone will also have its own individual user interface with improvements similar to the Black Ops 6 UI.

Changes to Features and Settings Management

Players will be able to manage some global settings at the top Call of Duty level of the UI that apply to all games. Settings in this bucket will be automatically imported from your previous title.

Other settings that are more game-specific can be managed at the individual title levels of the UI (e.g. gameplay settings related to new mechanics like Omnimovement). Settings at this level will not be automatically imported from prior games.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25 on the PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Expect our review to be available on the site soon after once we’ve had ample time playing the multiplayer.

FBC: Firebreak Announced and Is Remedy’s New Multiplayer Game; Will Be “Mid-Priced” and Coming to Xbox, PS5 and PC

While Remedy Entertainment is mostly known for Max Payne, the Alan Wake franchise and Control, the studio wants to add another feather in its cap, as they have announced their in-development project, “FBC: Firebreak” — a three-person multiplayer game.

Check out the trailer below where we get to see what seems to be snippets of gameplay. And for those wondering, nope, this is not a sequel to Control or DLC. This is a standalone game from Remedy Entertainment.

Per Remedy, “FBC: Firebreak is a 3-player cooperative first-person shooter set within the enigmatic Federal Bureau of Control (FBC). As the Bureau’s headquarters faces a deadly and prolonged siege by otherworldly forces, only Firebreak—its most adaptable response unit—has the skills and courage to restore order.”

While the game was revealed during Microsoft’s Xbox Partner Preview event, the game has been confirmed to be coming to PS5 a well. This was confirmed by Thomas Puha, Communications Director at Remedy, who also confirmed that the studio will be self-publishing the game:

For more info on the game, here’s the official info from the game’s Steam page that went live today as well.

About FBC: Firebreak:

FBC: Firebreak is a cooperative first-person shooter set within a mysterious federal agency under assault by otherworldly forces. UFC 5 Update 1.015 Adds New Fighters, Alter Egos This October 17

Mixed Martial Arts sim UFC 5 just got another free content drop this October 17 and this once again includes new fighters. Players will be able to download UFC 5 update 1.015 today, and this also brings in new Alter Egos and few gameplay changes as well.

UFC 5 Update 1.015 New Fighters and Patch Notes:

New Fighters:

Shara Magomedov – If being a UFC Champion was based on how intimidating you look, Shara would be wearing the UFC Middleweight Championship Belt already. Rattling off three wins in a row since entering the UFC, Shara looks to be a true contender in the shark tank that is the UFC’s Middleweight Division. Fast and powerful kicks combined with agile footwork are what you should keep your eye on when you pick Shara in UFC 5.

Matt Frevola – The STEAMROLLAAA is finally making his way into UFC 5. Known primarily for his punching power that led him to three straight KO wins in a row at one point in his UFC career, Matt can also wrestle and counter-wrestle when it’s called for, and coming from the same gym as Merab and Aljo can only improve your submission defense. Do you want a tough, gritty fighter with fight-ending power to flatten any opponent? “The SteamRolla” is your man for the job in UFC 5.

New Alter Egos:

Daniel Cormier (UFC 226|2018) – It took Daniel Cormier all of four minutes and thirty-three seconds to become only the second man ever to hold two UFC Championship Titles simultaneously but it took hours on the wrestling mats and 11 UFC fights across two divisions to get to this point. Nothing was going to stop DC at UFC 226 from becoming the baddest man on the planet and Champ Champ on the same night.

Thank you to the EA SPORTS UFC 5 Community for participating in the in-game Community Vote Event and for voting to add Daniel Cormier’s UFC 226 Alter Ego into the game. The rest of the Community Vote Alter Ego Series will be added on October 22, 2024.

Leon Edwards (UFC 278|2022) – In the UFC 278 Main Event, Leon Edwards was bullied for four and a half rounds. The elevation of Salt Lake City in Utah had taken a toll on the Birmingham, England resident fighting in enemy territory. Or so everyone thought, but that is not the cloth Leon is cut from because, with less than a minute to go in the fight, Edwards uncorked a head kick that sent Usman crashing to the canvas. “Headshot, dead.” With that, the UK had its first UFC Welterweight Champion.

Justin Gaethje (UFC 291|2023) – What is it with Salt Lake City and head kicks? Almost a year after Leon scored a come-from-behind head kick victory in the last minute of Round 5 at UFC 278, At UFC 291, Justin Gaethje decides he doesn’t want to wait that long and proceeds to head kick Dustin in unconsciousness within the first minute of Round 2, becoming only the second BMF champion.

There’s a new patch to download for Blizzard’s dungeon-crawler today! The Diablo 4 update for October 17 is now out on all platforms, and this brings balance changes, Kurast Undercity improvements and more. Those on consoles will see this as Diablo 4 update 1.65, and the complete patch notes are available below.

Diablo 4 New Update 1.65 Patch Notes and Changes:

Game Updates

User Interface and User Experience

  • The crafting notification for Runes now displays what’s being crafted instead of the Runes used.
  • The recipes for crafting random Runes at the Jeweler now include what Runes are needed for each recipe.
  • The tooltip for swapping Runes and Gems in sockets now says “swap” instead of “socket” when in that context.
  • Tooltips for Runes and Runewords have been updated to better communicate their effects.
  • The tooltip for Masterworking now indicates that the item must be Tempered twice before it can be Masterworked.
  • Various tooltips and icons for crafting materials have been updated for improved readability.
  • Infernal Hordes and Kurast Undercity will now be at the top level of activities in the Party Finder menu, alongside activities such as the Pit and Dark Citadel.
  • The icon for Glyph Sockets has been adjusted to make it more visually distinct in Paragon Boards.
  • The Non-Physical damage stat has been removed from the Character Stats window.

Developer’s Note: The Non-Physical Damage stat consists of separately listed stats of all included elements, such as Fire Damage. This stat was also incorrectly listed as a standalone entry and has been removed. Its impact on the individual elements has not changed.

  • Combat text for damage numbers are now abbreviated.
    • e.g. 10000 damage now displays as 10k damage.
  • New Nahantu-themed loading screens will now appear in-game.

Kurast Undercity

Developer’s Note: These updates aim to improve the overall value of rewards in the Kurast Undercity while reducing unnecessary friction for leveling players.

  • Tribute of Titans can now drop outside of defeating bosses.
  • Increased the drop rate of Rare Tributes throughout the game, other rarities are unaffected.

Season of Hatred Rising

  • The following changes have been implemented for the Realmwalker event:
    • Realmwalker no longer reduces spawns if only one person is following it.
    • Increased max spawns allowed at a time to 20, previously 15.
    • Increased the base movement speed of the Realmwalker by around 15%.
    • Every time you kill a wave of Bloodbound Guardians, the Realmwalker’s movespeed increases by 10%. For example: If you kill all 3 waves of Bloodbound Guardians, the Realmwalker will move 30% faster, in addition to the 15% base increase.
  • The Realmwalker now has a low chance to summon a Treasure Goblin.
  • Removed 1 Hatred Spire from the Ritual phase of the event in Nahantu. Three Hatred Spires will still spawn when the event occurs in Estuar, the continent home to the 5 Regions of Diablo IV’s base game.

Developer’s Note: Effects from Runes will count as if they were Invoked by the player. For classes that the skill is not native to, this Invokes as the base version of the skill.
