Ark Survival Ascended Update 1.053.001 Stomps Out Bugs, Here’s the Patch Notes

Studio Wildcard is at it again, as the studio has released Ark Survival Ascended update 1.053.001 and this is yet another patch that ushers in fixes, and even balance changes to the game. Read on for what’s new in the official Ark Survival Ascended new update patch notes.

Ark Survival Ascended Update 1.053.001 Patch Notes:

v53.1 – Major version for Servers and Clients – 09/24/2024

Changes & Bug Fixes:

  • Added a “View Traits” button to the creature inventory screen to view equipped creature traits
  • Fixed being unable to deploy Giant Queen Bee from a cryopod on Aberration
  • Fixed an issue that caused players to be killed or teleported outside of the map when using Climbing Picks
  • Fixed light flickering that would occur at specific times of day on consoles
  • Fixed missing Neuter/Spay option on Rock Drakes
  • Fixed being unable to equip a torch while mounted
  • Fixed the camera breaking when toggling photo mode when mounted on some creatures
  • Fixed the max player level being too low, should now allow players to level up to 175 with all unlocks
  • Aberration’s Rockwell bossfight
  • Fixed Aberration’s Rockwell bossfight not increasing the level cap correctly
  • Fixed Aberration’s Rockwell bossfight cutscene occurring too early which prevented access to the reward supply crate

  • Fixed shoulder pets disappearing after ascension, they will now be teleported correctly like other creatures

  • Fixed the Reaper pregnancy buff timer displaying inaccurately

  • Fixed creatures not using correct pathfinding when attempting to navigate to dropped honey
  • Fixed Deinosuchus being unable to enter the underwater air bubbles on The Center
  • Fixed being unable to throw out cryopodded dinos in the underwater air bubbles on The Center
  • Fixed an incorrect texture on Aberration
  • Fixed an incorrect texture on The Island
  • Fixed missing water volume on Scorched Earth
  • Fixed areas where you could be teleported outside of playable space on Aberration
  • Fixed radiation/surface burning audio being heard globally in some instances when playing Singleplayer
  • Fixed placing turrets on the ceiling border on Aberration
  • Fixed an exploit with the Pyromane which could allow players to cause turrets to fire without being hit by them
  • Server config MaxGateFrameOnSaddles now also applies restriction to Gates as well as GateFrames
  • Added initial taming prompt to wild Cosmo’s in-line with other passive tames
  • Fixed multiple server crashes

Balance Changes:

  • Wind Turbine no longer takes damage from Flame Arrows
  • Clockface stack size has been reduced from 100 to 5
  • Decreased Pyromane’s dragweight to 149 (now able to be bola’d)
  • Reduced Pyromane’s damage scaling by approximately 20%
  • Increased Pyromane’s dash cooldown from 6 seconds to 12 seconds
  • Reduced wild Pyromane spawns on Aberration by approximately 75%
  • Reduced Carcharodontosaurus healing per bloodrage stack by approximately 20%
  • Some Official server Saddle armor clamp adjustments have been made:
  • Decreased Stego saddle cap from 124.0 to 74.5
  • Increased Trike saddle cap from 99.2 to 124.0
  • Increased Pachyrhinosaurus Saddle from 99.2 to 124.0
  • Increased Doedicurus saddle cap from 74.5 to 124.0

Remnant 2 Update 1.000.035 for The Dark Horizon DLC, Free Boss Rush Mode Now Live

Gunfire Games has released the last DLC for Remnant 2 today with The Dark Horizon expansion! Alongside this, players will be able to download Remnant 2 update 1.000.035, and this includes new stuff for non-buyers of the DLC as well!

–|Free Content: Boss Rush Launch|–

Boss Rush is the ultimate game mode for players who crave non-stop action and boss battles.

Jump into the mode solo or team up with fellow Travelers in multiplayer and choose from three intense challenges: Triple Threat (a three-boss run), Trial by Fire (a seven-boss run), or The Gauntlet (a grueling nineteen-boss showdown). Test your survival skills as you fight through waves of enemies, including challenging Aberrations, on your way to face off against powerful bosses.

During the run, you’ll also earn temporary buffs—stat boosts and powerful passive bonuses—that will give you an edge when the battles heat up.

Getting started is easy. Simply head to the World Stone in Ward 13, select Boss Rush from the menu (just like you would for Campaign or Adventure), pick your difficulty, and dive in!

A brand-new power-boosting system that’s part of the free update. It works directly with the preexisting Fragments that have been in the game since day 1.

  • Fixed an issue where some enemy attacks ignored Damage Reduction.
  •  Fixed an issue where players could still receive Bloody Steel Splinter from Red Prince even if they had Blood Draw mod.

  • Fixed an issue where Thorn tooltip was not updating when equipping items with explosive damage bonuses.
  • Fixed an issue where some items had a white outline around their image in their icon.
  • Fixed an issue where Corrupted Sorrow Mod tooltip was incorrectly showing the wrong value.
  • Fixed an issue where upgrading Amplitude was not changing the tooltip description for Way of Lydusa.
  • Fixed an issue where Blood Draw tooltip values were not updated when equipping objects with explosive damage bonuses

  • Fixed an issue where if a player entered the fog door to the Nightweaver fight during the transition to the 2nd phase of the fight, the player would no longer be able to damage enemies.
  • Fixed an issue where if players defeated the Custodian Eye at the same time the floor would drop, it could cause the player to get stuck on the lowered section of the room.
  • Fixed an issue where Lighthouse Key would be in the wrong visual state when inspecting.
  • Fixed an issue where Some Dran would get stuck using a ladder if a player used it at the same time.
  • Fixed an issue where Resolute Trait was not consistently being awarded.
  • Fixed an issue where the Alchemist Engram description and lore were incorrect.
  • Fixed an issue where the One True King was missing dialogue responses when the player wearing the True Crimson Crown.
  • Fixed an issue where if players exited the game as they placed the Cherished Fracture in the shrine, when they reloaded the game, they would see Lydusa’s character mesh hovering room.
  • Fixed an issue where the Havoc Form Lightning VFX persisted for clients when the player died while shooting lightning.
  • Fixed an issue where the Havoc Form Lightning VFX visually fired in the wrong direction when viewed by client.
  • Fixed an issue where Character Aura Buff VFX persisted where player died after using any of the 3Vial skills as an Alchemist.
  • Fixed an issue where Founder Ford’s path would reset if players quit before meeting him at the entrance to old Ward 13.
  • Fixed an issue where players in specific circumstances could escape the Mother Mind’s arena.
  • Fixed an issue where the player character could get stuck in state transition when doing a Charge Attack at 0 Stamina and still holding the attack button.
  • Fixed an issue where Campaign dialogue choice was showing up in Adventure mode when speaking to Custodian.
  • Fixed an issue where ring in Derelict Lighthouse would sometimes spawn under the ground, making it impossible to pick up.
  • Fixed an issue where Hatchery could be exploited for XP grinding.
  • Fixed an issue where the “health” of the walls in Lydusa fight we scaling too high on Apocalyptic difficulty.
  • Fixed an issue where Flop damage was not scaling with player level.
  • Fixed an issue where Archetypes or Archetype skills could no longer be selected for a small portion of players.
  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to obtain the same archetype if another player buys it from Wallace.
  • Fixed various issues where players could end up out of the world while using Wormhole in different locations.
  • Fixed various issues of small visual and collision gaps through the game.

We’re not expecting any major patches after this one outside of bug fixes

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Update for Sept. 24 Brings Weapon Adjustments, Bug Fixes

Even if we’re inching closer to Black Ops 6’s release, Sledgehammer Games isn’t done updating Modern Warfare 3 — not by a long shot. The studio has now pushed out the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone update for Sept. 24, and this is a server-side update that implements weapon changes, various bug fixes and more.

Global

Settings

  • Improved clarity of the Jump Scares toggle option label.

Multiplayer

UIX

  • Bug Fixes
    • Attackers widget will now display the total player health as the accurate value of 150, rather than 149.
    • Scrolling the Info panel of a Featured Playlist will no longer cause Maps to disappear from the list.
    • Buttons will no longer become unresponsive in the Ranked Play menu while using a mouse and keyboard input device.
    • Killstreak Skins counter now displays the correct value after purchasing a relevant Bundle.
    • Stretched artwork will no longer appear briefly during menu transitions.
    • Filtering Weapons in the Gunsmith while a CDL Mode is active will no longer cause the player to be sent back to the lobby.
    • Added missing Challenge description to the Constellation’s End Camo for the STG44 Assault Rifle.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends End of Service Announced for Feb. 18, 2025 and Will No Longer Be Playable Three Years After Launch

While more and more studios relying on online multiplayer as the crux of their game, there is always the possibility of the game being unplayable be it for lack of players, or the servers stop working. It seems that in the case of Sumo Digital’s Hood: Outlaws & Legends, it’s a mix of both.

The studio has announced that in Feb. 18, 2025 — just three years after it launched — the game will end its run. The Hood: Outlaws & Legends end of service means the game will completely be unplayable given the game is centered on online multiplayer.

Here’s the announcement from the studio:

We regret to inform you that our game, Hood: Outlaws & Legends, will be ending service on February 18. After this date, the game, along with any Editions, DLCs, and Battle Pass items, will no longer be accessible.

This has been a difficult but necessary decision, and we understand it may be disappointing. The Hood teams deeply thank you for your support and dedication throughout this incredible adventure. We cherished every part of it and we hope your memories of Hood: Outlaws & Legends will be as treasured as ours.

Starting October 16, 2024, the game will not be sold either via physical or digital, and refunds will be offered to players who purchased the game 14 days prior to this announcement until the termination of sales.

In our review of the game, we noticed a bunch of stuff the studio did right, but also a lot of things that went wrong citing, “Hood: Outlaws and Legends is a great idea on paper, but not one so well executed.”

At the very least, the game did last three years, and is nowhere near as fast as Concord’s which got its rug pulled in less than a month.

Mortal Kombat 1 Update 1.007.001 Released for Khaos Reigns and Balance Changes This Sept. 24

NetherRealm Studios has pushed out Mortal Kombat 1 update 1.007.001 this September 24 on consoles and PC, and this is for the big Khaos Reigns DLC! Even if you aren’t buying the expansion, there’s still a lot of stuff to parse through the patch notes, as it includes fighter changes and more.

Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 1 & 2 Remastered Leaked via PSN, Set for December 10 Release

Last summer, a Soul Reaver statue displayed at Comic-Con in San Diego, along with a plaque crediting it to Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1 and 2 Remastered, raised many hopes for an official reveal. While the announcement never came during the event, recent developments suggest that it may finally be happening.

A leak on the PlayStation Store has revealed that the remastered versions of these iconic games could be released on December 10. The leaked page, which was quickly removed, mentioned a collection celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Soul Reaver saga. This remastered bundle is set to include Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver and Legacy of Kain Soul Reaver 2, featuring updated graphics and other enhancements. The leak also included several screenshots, offering a glimpse of the improved visuals.

The original Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain debuted in 1996, but it was Soul Reaver in 1999 that made the series popular. The franchise then saw the release of a sequel and a fourth title, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, in 2003. However, the series has been mostly inactive, aside from some less successful experiments like the cancelled free-to-play game Nosgoth.

Now, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver 1-2 Remastered is reportedly already set up in the PlayStation Store backend, complete with the images, and even a trailer. With all this information already in place, it’s highly likely that the collection will be officially announced at tonight’s State of Play event. As we get more information, we’ll make sure to keep you informed here at MP1st.

Marvel Rivals Adds Psylocke to the Roster and Here’s Our First Look; Moon Knight Teased Too

NetEase has revealed a new character that’s set to unleash havoc on the Marvel Rivals battlefield, and it’s the mutant, Psylocke! Check out the trailer and read on for the first info on the hero.

Psylocke utilizes a vast range of psionic abilities to outsmart and outflank her enemies. Her agile speed and quick motions allow Psylocke to dash across short distances, while also being able to cloak herself and appear invisible before attacking. Her ultimate ability brings all these elements together, as Psylocke rushes across the battlefield with her wings on full display, cutting down all enemies in her path.

The version of Psylocke is inspired by the character design from best-selling comic Demon Days: X-Men by award-winning comic book artist Peach Momoko, who received the Ringo Award in 2021 as well as the Eisner Award in both 2021 and 2024. The Psylocke character design was co-created by Marvel Rivals artists and Momoko. Psylocke will also be voiced by Japanese voice actress Alpha Takahashi, who has voiced in other famous franchises such as Cyberpunk 2077.

A wandering ronin in feudal Japan, the telekinetic warrior known as Sai has devoted herself to striking down ancient demons and monsters. With her wolf Logan by her side, Psylocke won’t rest until all Yokai have fallen by her psychic blade. Sai was ripped from her reality by the Timestream Entanglement and put on display by the Collector. Alongside newfound allies, she escaped her cage and learned that other familiar warriors might still be out there. Her new quest is to gather those heroes, end this conflict, and return home.

At the end of the video, you can even see a tease for Moon Knight, which suggests this might be the next hero making their way into the game. Check the image below which we’ve screencapped from the end of the Psylocke trailer:

Fortnite Update for Sept. 24 Brings Version 4.38

Heads up! Epic Games has released a new Fortnite update this September 24, and console gamers will see this as update 4.38 on last-gen, with current-gen seeing this as version 1.000.149. Given the big v31.20 patch was just released last week, don’t expect any content from this outside of fixes.

Oddly enough, Epic Games has not acknowledged today’s patch just yet, but the studio did mention how a stability patch was released for the Xbox Series X a few days ago, so don’t be surprised if it’s the same update released now on other platforms.

We’ve also listed the known issues Epic is working on via the official Fortnite Trello board. Don’t be surprised if the ones marked as “fixed in future game update” are the issues resolved with today’s patch.

GENERAL TOP ISSUES:

V Rising 1.009 Released on PS5, Increases Haptic Feedback Strength Alongside Balance Changes

Stunlock has pushed V Rising update 1.009 on PS5 this September 24, and this increases the haptic feedback strength significantly, as well as a load of bug fixes affecting the UI, gameplay and even balance changes.

V Rising 1.009 Patch Notes:

General Fixes

  • Increased the strength of haptic feedback by 60%.

UI Fixes

  • Fixed stuttering that can occur when scrolling through the player list on servers with a lot of players.
  • Fixed stuttering that can occur when using the map.
  • Fixed an issue where the selection options would extend outside of the screen space in the social menu on servers with a lot of players.
  • Made it easier to see what server ruleset is selected in the Game Settings Ruleset tab.
  • Fixed an issue where players could get an inconsistent ordering of clan mates in the HUD.
  • Fixed an issue where players would sometimes not show in the clan HUD.
  • Fixed an issue where the tooltips on weapons would show incorrect information after the weapon had been unequipped.
  • The Host game and Join game buttons are no longer visible when reading the Server Info in the server list.
  • Added UI optimizations.
  • Fixed issues with scrolling in the merchant UI.
  • Fixed issues with scrolling in the Attributes tab.

Balance Updates

While we were looking at changes to make for this balance update, we reached out in a few public and private discords to get some community feedback on the most pressing issues related to PvP in the game right now to get the best idea we could do to alleviate current frustrations.

With that in mind, the changes we’re making are  restricted to numbers adjustments to spells that needed a little tuning down like the defensive counters and buffs, but just as importantly some others that need a little boost to help make more options viable.

Some motivations for changes are as follows:

  • We received a lot of feedback that the Whip is too strong due to its attack speed and overall damage compared to other weapons that are harder to aim. Even though the whip overall has the lowest DPS(damage per second), we increased the primary attack’s cast time to make it slightly more reactable while also lowering the DPS. This will bring it more in line with other weapons.
  • In general, defensives have been pretty oppressive. We’ve tuned down the numbers on some of the shields and defensives provided. There are other issues with strengths on defensives that can’t solved with a simple numbers adjustment, but this will have to do for now!
  • Void is omnipresent in raiding when combined with scholar blood, having a large radius that it’s very difficult not to get value out of in narrow hallways when used excessively by many Vampires at once. We’ve reduced the radius to make it a bit easier to dodge and a bit harder to get value out of when used in large groups.
  • Many projectiles and targeting offensive abilities have had their damage tuned up to make them more competitive options compared to defensive spells.
  • There’s been some rebalancing in the frost school, off-setting some of the frustrating nature of the freeze setups by increasing the shielding the freeze gives a player, which should soften the blow of the first guaranteed hit they receive when being broken out of their frozen state.
  • Some underutilized ults have gotten some buffs!

Right now we’re starting work on the next update, and in that we’re going to be able to do more of the things we weren’t able to do now. For instance, we’re aware there are concerns in pvp around how much offensive utility directional shields have, but there’s no way to adjust them properly without changing their functionality significantly, which we’re restricted from doing in a minor patch such as this.

We’re also working on some fun systems that you can look forward to that are targeted at pvp lovers, like the much requested duel system.

Until then, please enjoy these adjustments that should make it a bit more fun to murder your fellow Vampire over, and over, and over again.

World War Z Free Extinction Update 1.59 Attacks Players With New Content

Saber Interactive is back at it again with another free content drop for World War Z! Called the “Extinction Update.” the download is now available for all players with console gamers seeing this as World War Z update 1.59, while current-gen has it as WWZ update version 1.022! This brings the new Arizona map in Horde Mode XL Challenge mode, new skins, and more!

Think you’ve got what it takes? The new Extinction Challenge Mode raises the bar even higher, with even more aggressive zombies that are harder to take down and can infect you on contact. Allies will be tougher to distinguish from the pack and death occurs after just one incapacitation, with respawns only possible at checkpoints.

Each week in Extinction Challenge Mode, maps from one campaign episode will be featured on rotation. Players who complete all maps from any episode for the first time in this mode will receive bonus rewards like a heavy weapon skin, 350 blue coins and 1,000 gold coins!

Today’s update also adds 13 new mutators for Challenge Horde Mode:

  • Grenadier – The Bomber throws explosives until neutralized
  • Myopia – After aiming, your vision becomes blurred
  • Plague Creatures – During the wave, a random special zombie and poison cloud appears
  • Mass Contamination – The Booster infects a larger group of zombies nearby
  • Angry Turrets – At the start of the wave, all deployed turrets become neutral, posing a deadly threat to both zombies and human players
  • New Advantages for All 8 Classes – Raise the health and damage of each class by 50%

The Golden Bloom Weapon Skin Pack DLC is available for $4.99 and this brings floral patterns to the Geist 17MP pistol, Paladin LMG rifle, Keris V10 SMG, BSS-2 shotgun and MAG-5 machine gun.

September Update: Patch Notes

Today, we also released a free patch adding reticle customization and various animal animation improvements for all players among multiple bug fixes. To swap a reticle go to your storage, choose a scope you want to change, and click the Customize button.

Now let’s dive into the details.

NEW FEATURES AND IMPROVEMENTS

  • All telescopic scopes can now have their reticles customized. Reticles from previously existing scopes are available to everyone to customize. Additional new reticles are available in the Scopes DLC package. Changing the scope’s crosshair will affect that particular scope when mounted on any weapon. Changing reticles costs 4500 Hunter Bucks.
  • Japanese and Simplified Chinese text localizations are now available in the Xbox and PlayStation versions of the game.
  • New or updated items will now be initially highlighted in the Store menu at the Cache to make it easier to find them.
  • POI icons have been adjusted to improve consistency and clarity.
  • The .577/450 Black Powder rounds used by the Gandhare Rifle have been revised to be considered ethical when shooting class 9 animals (now covers class 4-9 instead of 4-8 as before).
    • Developer’s Notes: It’s time for a tiger hunt!
  • We’ve removed the Picatinny Rail and Rear Sight from the Caversham 12 Gauge shotguns to improve sight picture and visibility when aiming with the bead sight.
  • We’ve adjusted the Picatinny Rail and scope positioning on the Rangemaster, M1 Iwaniec, and Solokhin MN1890 rifle types.
  • Due to the implementation of new systems required to make reticles in scopes swappable, all weapons have had their accuracy at various zeroing ranges with their different scopes and sights reviewed and updated.
    • Developer’s Notes: Hopefully, we’ve got everything, but please let us know if any of the guns aren’t as accurate as they used to be!
  • Some entertaining phrases will now appear in the bottom right corner of the screen during loading.
    • Developer’s Notes: If you happen to find yourself in a scenario, where the game freezes during loading, please include the phrase that was on-screen when the issue occurred when reporting the issue.
  • We’ve comprehensively restructured how the game handles audio data to improve stability and consistency.
  • We’ve changed the colors used for players in Multiplayer to make it easier to differentiate between them.
  • Multiple animation improvements for several animals were added. They will now move more naturally. This change affects the following animals: Alligator, Moose, Bears, Cape Buffalo, European Rabbit, Raccoon, Wild Boar, all Deers, Cape Buffalo, Beceite Ibex, Puma, and Snow Leopard.

BUG FIXES

Gameplay

  • Animals should no longer appear out of thin air when exiting a structure, such as a tripod.

Audio

  • If a player walks through several bushes all at once, the bush-rustling sound effect will now stop correctly instead of continuing to play.
  • Raining sounds on the Shooting Range in Hirschfelden will no longer persist when the weather changes.

Equipment

  • We’ve fixed an issue where the antler rattler was not held correctly.
  • Improvements were made to the accuracy of bows when using the Brightsight Rangefinder Sight with different zeroing settings.
  • The .410 Birdshot rounds will no longer stop traveling after 75m.

  • Fixed an issue where weapons would appear to be endlessly reloading when viewed in 3rd Person if the player carrying the weapon was knocked out and respawned while reloading.
  • Crouching or going prone with the Rolleston .45 no longer causes issues with the camera.
  • If a player does not have any ranks of the Lightning Hands Perk, reloading the Tsurugi LRR .338 will no longer cause issues with the camera.
  • The Red Raptor Reflex sight can now be used with the Rhino .454 as intended.
  • We’ve fixed an issue with the reload animation on the Kullman .22H.
  • We’ve addressed an issue where the audio for firing a Zarza or Arzyna rifle might be out of sync when firing the last round in the magazine.

Dogs

  • Players cannot command their dogs while in outposts anymore.
    • Developer’s Notes: The good boys and gals would not respond anyway.

Animals

  • Animals should be better at turning now, which makes them less likely to run into the water.
  • We’ve fixed an issue with the Bengal Tiger’s idle animation
  • European Rabbits will no longer fly away if shot while trying to enter their warrens.
    • Developer’s Notes: We’ve clipped their wings for good.
  • Bengal Tigers will no longer look away from the player just before mauling them.
    • Developer’s Notes: Maintaining eye contact is important.
  • We’ve fixed an issue with Merriam Turkey’s feathers not rendering properly.

Character

  • Unconscious Players will no longer visibly blink.
    • Developer’s Notes: That was just too creepy.

Multiplayer

  • We’ve fixed an issue that made all animals less reactive to certain players in Multiplayer.
  • We’ve resolved a problem where players using the Windows Store edition of our game couldn’t join their friends’ multiplayer games via invitations, even when those friends were also on the Windows Store version.
  • We’ve fixed an issue that previously stopped players using the Windows Store version of the game from inviting their friends (also on the Windows Store version) to join multiplayer games if the server was hosted by someone using either the Epic Games Store or Steam version.
  • We’ve fixed a crash that could occasionally happen on Xbox when joining voice chat in Multiplayer after previously having the application suspended.

Missions

  • Rotating the map will now correctly progress the objective during the “Something Wicked This Way Comes” mission on Mississippi Acres.

UI

  • When switching to Tru-score on the harvest screen while X-ray view is enabled, the view will now zoom in on the antlers again.
  • We’ve fixed an issue where the downloadable content menu did not update frequently enough on Xbox and PlayStation.
  • We’ve removed a confusing “Controller Disconnected” message that would appear on PlayStation after switching profiles.
  • Rotating mission items while inspecting them should be smoother now.
  • Recently purchased DLCs will no longer show up in the “Recommended DLC” list.

Customization

  • The customization item formerly known as “Christmas Red Laminate Wood” was renamed to “Christmas Red Carbon Fiber” to reflect the fact that it looks like Carbon Fiber.

System

  • When launching the game during installation on a console, players will now receive a warning pop-up indicating that the game is still installing, and that only limited content is available.
  • For Xbox users with a large number of achievements, we’ve resolved a problem where the autosave function could occasionally stop working upon loading into a Reserve.
  • We’ve made additional improvements to memory management to improve game stability.
  • We’ve fixed a crash that could happen when attempting to fire a bow at a shooting range without any arrows loaded.
  • We’ve addressed an issue where the game could unexpectedly crash if a player using the Windows Store version signed out of their profile while playing the game.

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Update 1.002.001 Out for Bug Fixes This Sept. 24

The latest update has been released for Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP on all platforms. This is update 1.002.001 and it comes with a host of bug fixes such as fixing Juliet’s jiggle physics, adjusting her speed and much more. Read on for the full patch notes for September 24.

Expeditions: A Mudrunner Game Update Version 1.011 Out for Patch 7.2 Fixes This Sept. 24

We’re updating the Public Beta Branch with the latest update for Expeditions: 7.2! 🚚

You will find all the changes below:

Most critical changes:

Changed flow of Task tracking. Previously, the “Start tracking” button did nothing if a task was found by Binoculars without visiting a task giver zone. The new flow is:

Find a task giver zone with the binoculars or visit a zone
The stages of the task are added to the task list on the map
The “Start tracking” button is clickable and allows the player to activate a task

  • Added the new tooltip about changing trucks or recovering to the Outpost. The tooltip instructs the player to open the Details menu and then either recover or change the truck. It is displayed on the imap, near the Outpost icon and the Truck icon, depending on which one is selected
  • The Recovery tutorial has also been updated
  • Significant changes have been made to the map UI, including a bug on gamepads where the Accept button did nothing without pressing any buttons on the D-pad, and a bug where the cursor was missing when opening the map after Recovery to the outpost
  • Headlights could be turned on by pressing right stick on gamepads
  • Fixed FPS drops during opening the map
UI:
  • Sedona region is added to the progress page on the Profile
Content:
  • Fixed shadow borders in the Drone scannings
  • Improved the Helipad sounds
Known issues we’re working on:
  • FPS drops in the Garage
  • On consoles, connection to an existing session resets in some cases (please try again after receiving the pop-up Connection lost)
  • In some cases, the Guest crashes when the Host leaves the crossplay session
  • HUD will not be hidden when module building pop or trade pop up is opened
  • Quest truck markers are displayed on the map while using the Helipad, after selecting a quest truck, the player will be teleported to the first playable truck on the list
  • Outpost and Gateway icons are missing on the map
  • Displaying ‘No rewards on this type’ text instead of showing bonus rewards on the map, please note that rewards are available and will be displayed on the Summary screen
  • Overlay of “Rewards” text in HQ in all languages except English localisation

Helldivers 2 Update 1.001.102 Drops for Crash Fixes, Various Adjustments This Sept. 24

While Arrowhead just released a major patch last week, it came with a price, as players has suffered through game crashes. That’s changing today, as the studio has released Helldivers 2 update 1.001.102 that aims to resolve those alongside other miscellaneous issues.

Crash fixes:

  • Fixed a rare crash caused by weapon reloads
  • Fixed a rare crash when opening chat on a mission.
  • Resolved crash related to squad menu.
  • Fixed crash that might happen if host migration occurs during a bug breach.
  • Fixed crash when opening the Armory or Ship management and Acquisitions menu at the same time when on someone else’s ship.
  • Fixed a UI crash where there could be more than 3 teammates at the same time.
  • Fixed a crash which occurred after an early host migration and the former host having an unique skin in their hellpod.
  • Fixed crash that could happen if a peer leaves a four-player game

Miscellaneous Fixes:

  • The SH-32 Shield Generator Pack now properly transfers knockback to the wielder.”
  • Fixed Helldiver cardboard not spawning in the tutorial.
  • Fixed a bug where Helldivers arms would glitch when quickly picking up the same weapon type twice.
  • Fixed owned stratagems number increasing for all categories when stratagem is purchased.
  • Fixed issue with overlapping input for Rock Paper Scissor first option on the controller.
  • Fixed the Expert Exterminator title being incorrectly available to some players.
  • Fixed the issue where all the medals of a Warbond page would hide when scrolling.
  • Scout walkers will now receive the gas confusion effect when damaged by gas. They will also properly take damage on their health zones when receiving damage from flamethrowing or gas weapons.
  • Fixed name of the new host not showing anymore for clients when host migration happens.
  • Fix backpack being hidden while in the HMG Emplacement.
  • Resolved an issue where PS5 players became unjoinable after their console returned from rest mode.
  • Fixed issue where a poor connection between a joining player and an existing player could cause the existing player to be disconnected from the session. For good measure, we also doubled the threshold for what is considered a poor connection. This should result in less instances of being randomly sent back to your ship without warning or reason.
  • Fix a host migration issue for stratagem objectives that prevent their completion.
  • Fix bug where sometimes prerequisite objectives would be shown above the primary objective in the HUD.
  • Fixed tentacles throwing the player in the air when impaler recalled them.
  • Fixed bug in “EVACUATE HIGH-VALUE ASSETS” where enemies would stop spawning for a period of time when the host leaves.
  • All Automaton Hulk types will now prioritize the player over the Power Generator in the Evacuate High-Value Assets mission.
  • Fixed broken menus when opening the main menu right before entering the hellpod (when the Loadout menu opens).
  • General Brasch was promoted to Super 10-Star General after the latest personal shield generator confusion.

Of course, this doesn’t mean all the game’s issues have been fixed. Arrowhead has listed the things they are working on as well.

Known issues

These are the highest priority issues that were either introduced by this patch and are being worked on, or are from a previous version and have not yet been fixed. This is not a comprehensive list. Top Priority:

  • Players may not receive Friend Requests sent from another platform
  • Large units have no audio cues, allowing them to sneak up on players
  • Enemies will try to shoot the generators through walls in the Rescue High-Value Assets mission
  • Enemies are sometimes capable of shooting through walls
  • Social menu is stuck on ‘Please Wait Democratically’ for some players
  • Dead bodies of Chargers can launch the Helldiver into the air
  • Stratagem balls bounce unpredictably off cliffs and some spots
  • Players may sometimes be unable to join specific friends, or are returned to ship when joined

Medium Priority:

  • Reinforcement may not be available for players who join a game in progress
  • Mines may become invisible or may disappear in Multiplayer lobbies
  • Pelican-1 may sometimes be launched away if hit with an impaler tentacle
  • Supply packs may be incorrectly used if pressing down on a controller while calling in a stratagem
  • Friends “Invite only” games can still be seen on the Galactic War Map but cannot be joined
  • High damage weapons will not detonate hellbombs
  • Some enemies that bleed out do not progress Personal Orders and Eradicate missions

This is the second follow up patch released by the studio, as a hotfix was pushed out resolving issues last week as well.

Skull and Bones Update 1.000.017 Fixes Rubberbanding and “Buy” Button Issue

Heads up, pirates! Ubisoft has released Skull and Bones update 1.000.017 this September 24 on all platforms, and this is to implement minor fixes to the game. Do not expect any new content given the big Y1S3.1 patch was released just last week.

Improved Server Stability

  • Improved server stability to address rubber-banding that caused players to experience movement glitches or travel outside unintended areas

Vanity Atelier

  • Fixed an issue where the “Buy” button is greyed out while purchasing items from the Vanity Atelier

That’s about it for the latest round of fixes. Of course, there are other things to look forward to in the game as Week 6 starts today featuring Li Tian Ning World Event (Flames of the Phoenix), and Commander Zhang (The Serpent’s Wrath). You can check out the in-game calendar for more info. In terms of bounties the Silent Death bounty is still ongoing alongside the Jaws of Retribution.

Once another patch is released, we’ll let our readers know. Hopefully there is one released to tackle some of the crashing and progression bugs affecting gamers.

  • Fixed an issue that occurred with the Switch Block options where the block direction would switch during continuous blocks even when set to Standing Block only or Crouching Block only.
  • Fixed an issue where the frame meter would show data one frame slower than the actual data during a Super Art startup for ones that have an attack hitbox appear during the dark screen transition, such as Zangief’s Bolshoi Storm Buster and Akuma’s Shun Goku Satsu.

Universal Concepts

Some characters have received some balance adjustments for this update.

Rather than sweeping changes to alter the game balance across all characters, this time we’ve zeroed in to specifically add some tweaks to characters that hadn’t seen many changes to their playstyle yet. We’ve also dampened the unexpected negative impact of some previous changes, and dialed back some factors that were really sticking out.
 
Universal

At the moment, Capcom has yet to release the full patch notes for this update, though we know it’s mainly focused on adding the latest fighter, Terry Bogard. As of right now, players can now play as him through the classic arcade and begin training under him in the World Tour. As for online play, players will need to wait as Street Fighter 6 servers are currently down for maintenance. They’ll be down for roughly four hours, with the full scheduled available below.

  • Tuesday, September 24 3:00am – 7:00am UTC

Once the update data download is live, we’ll let our readers know. As far as patches, this is probably the biggest changelog we’ve gotten for Mortal Kombat 1 yet and with good reason.

Report: Ex-343 QA Claims Microsoft Contracting Policies One of the Biggest Issues MS Exclusives Seeing a “Downturn in Quality” and Halo’s Struggles

Back in the day, Microsoft’s Halo franchise was one of the biggest in gaming, and it was one genre where Sony didn’t have anything to counter the software giant with. Over the years, the franchise’s popularity has waned a bit, which was evident in Halo Infinite’s release, as even if it did great numbers at launch, its impact is nowhere near as big as in previous entries.

While there’s a lot that could be said about Halo not being as big as it once was, one ex-developer pins the blame on Microsoft itself and how it treats developers at 343. Former 343 QA Tester Briggs William Crane has spoken out about Microsoft’s contracting policies, which is something he attributes to the Halo franchise’s hardships. Commenting on a video by HiddenXperia titled “We Finally Know What Happened To Infinite’s Campaign, DLC, Story & More,” Crane points out that Microsoft’s policies in laying off contractual people as they are getting into their best work is what’s hampering the franchise. Not only that, the same person also points to this contractual employment as one main reason why Microsoft’s exclusives are seeing a “downturn in quality.”

Ex 343 Dev here. Now I work at Epic Games. Microsoft’s contracting policies are single handedly one of the biggest issues that Halo faces. Can you imagine how difficult it is to do your best work knowing that they’ll get rid of you in 18 months and there’s nothing you can do about it? Plus that forces people out the door just as they become fully trained and competent at their positions. All of this just so they can have the luxury of being able to easily lay off employees when it suits Microsoft execs. A SIGNIFICANT portion of 343’s workforce is comprised of contract workers (including the entirety of the old MCC team). The self inflicted brain drain is maddening to watch, and it’s (in my opinion) why most Microsoft exclusive titles are seeing a downturn in quality. They’ve created a business environment in which the talent they should be trying to cultivate is being pushed out the door and is then nabbed by other studios.

Briggs is now working full-time as a LiveQA Tester for Epic Games’ Fortnite according to his LinkedIn bio.

The latest Halo game, Halo Infinite, was released for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC back in 2021 with its multiplayer offered as free-to-play. Blitzing out of the gate, the shooter has gone through ups and downs throughout the years and is still being supported by 343 with title updates, events and so on. When it comes to Microsoft’s first-party releases, possibly the biggest offender is Redfall, which was universally panned for its bugs, lack of content and unpolished gameplay. Aside from that, the most recent first-party major release from Microsoft has been Hellblade 2: Senua’s Saga, which reviewed fairly well, though might not have been the system-seller Microsoft was hoping for.

We’re not privy to the inner workings at 343 or Microsoft, but we did ask the company for a comment on the situation, and if we hear anything back, we’ll update the article with the info.

Don’t Nod Confirms Banishers Didn’t Meet Expectations; Developing 2 Unannounced Projects for Release Before End of 2027

While we loved what we’ve played of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, it seems it didn’t get enough traction commercially, as developer Don’t Nod Entertainment confirmed that it failed to meet sales expectations.

This was revealed by Oskar Guilbert, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Don’t Nod in the company’s latest quarterly earnings report.

We are obviously disappointed by our recent performance in an extremely competitive and selective market. Despite an excellent critical reception, Jusant and Banishers: Ghosts of new Eden unfortunately did not achieve the commercial results we had hoped for, resulting in a deterioration in our 2024 half-year results and leading us to consider all possible options regarding our roadmap.”

For the first half of 2024, the company posted an 11% decline in operating revenues to €14.6 million ($16.2 million USD), versus €16.5 million ($18.3 million USD) in H1 2023.

  • an increase in sales (+€1.2 million), mainly driven by the back catalog (Vampyr and the Life is Strange license) and the contribution of Jusant (released at the end of October 2024) and Banishers: Ghosts of new Eden (released mid-February 2024), which performed well below expectations;
  • development revenues down (-€2.0 million), reflecting the completed development of Banishers: Ghosts of new Eden;
  • a reduction in capitalized production (-€1.1 million), resulting from the temporary suspension of 2 production lines.

Don’t Nod has confirmed that they have high hopes for the upcoming adventure game, Lost Records: Bloom & Rage, which is set to be released in Feb. 18, 2025 for Tape 1, and March 18, 2025 for Tape 2 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

There are also two unannounced in-house projects being developed, which the company aims to release before the end of 2027.

Unfortunately, the weak sales of both Banishers and Jusant has lead to Don’t Nod to put two undisclosed projects on hold. According to the studio, they are also exploring other options that could be implemented as soon as possible to secure ” its operations and enhance value creation.”

Once we know more about the unannounced projects, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.
