Xbox head Phil Spencer shared his thoughts on Microsoft’s decision to bring Indiana Jones and the Great Circle to PlayStation 5 during his appearance at gamescom 2024. This move marks a significant shift in strategy for Xbox, as the game, developed by MachineGames, will launch on PS5 shortly after its release on Xbox and PC.
Spencer addressed this decision during the Xbox gamescom 2024 stream, explaining that it aligns with Xbox’s broader goal of expanding its reach. He emphasized, “Our franchises are getting stronger, our Xbox console players are as high this year as they’ve ever been.”
He further elaborated on the strategy, saying, “So I look at this, how can we make our games as strong as possible? Our platform continues to grow both on console, PC, and cloud, and I think it’s just going to be a strategy that works for us.”
Spencer highlighted the importance of this strategy for Xbox’s growth. “We run a business,” Spencer stated, underscoring the financial pressure on Xbox. “The bar is high for us in terms of the delivery we have to give back to the company.”
“We just have to anticipate there’s going to be more change in how some of the traditional ways that games were built and distributed, that’s going to change,” Spencer further said.
Amid a challenging period for Xbox, including layoffs and studio closures, Spencer reassured that the focus remains on making better games accessible to more players.
As promised during TennoCon 2024, Digital Extremes has delivered the big quality-of-life update for Warfarme! Out now on consoles and PC, tennos will see this as Warframe new update 1.039 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and PC. There’s a lot to take in, so read on for the complete patch notes.
Warframe New Update 1.039 Patch Notes:
NEW PROLOGUE QUEST: THE LOTUS EATERS
A strange call comes from beyond and must not go unanswered.
Concerned with a strange disturbance in the Man in the Wall’s domain, the Lotus bids you to investigate. This kicks off The Lotus Eaters, a short prologue Quest that will set the stage for Warframe: 1999 and the battles yet to come this winter.
Quest Prerequisite
You must complete the Whispers in the Walls Quest to begin The Lotus Eaters Quest from your Codex.
Quest Reward
Answer the call, Tenno.
SEVAGOTH PRIME ACCESS
The dark helmsman re-emerges, powerful and pristine. With the regality of a dashing naval commander, Sevagoth Prime (and his gilded Shadow) are armed and ready for any encounter — on the high seas, in the Proximas, or beyond.
Sevagoth Prime
The gilded helmsman emerges from the tempest, his shadow a lure for doomed souls.
We’ve also added extra Polarities (more than the typical Prime variant) to Sevagoth Prime, his Shadow Prime and Shadow Claws Prime. Since Sevagoth Prime has two Exalted items we wanted to help reduce the overall Forma needed for him!
Sevagoth Prime has an additional Naramon Polarity.
Sevagoth’s Shadow Prime has additional Naramon and Vazarin Polarities.
Shadow Claws Prime has an additional 3x Madurai Polarities.
Epitaph Prime
Send shivers down your enemies’ spines with this wrist-mounted sidearm. As the signature weapon of Sevagoth Prime, it deals additional headshot damage when wielded by him.
Nautilus Prime
This brave deckhand defends his crew with Verglas Prime.
Sevagoth Prime Accessories
Maginav Prime Signa –Present yourself as an esteemed captain with Sevagoth Prime’s signature Signa.
Navic Prime Sentinel Bundle
Navic Prime Mask
Navic Prime Wings
Navic Prime Tail
90-Day Affinity Booster
90-Day Resource Booster
Instantly gain access to Sevagoth Prime Access from the in-game Market or earn Relics in-game to craft Sevagoth Prime, Epitaph Prime and the Nautilus Prime in your Foundry.
Now that Sevagoth Prime Access is available, the following items have been added to the Prime Vault for a future Prime Resurgence rotation. If you have Relics that contain these items they will remain in your Inventory.
Fixed Sevagoth’s Shadow not having its temporary invulnerability on subsequent casts after its initial spawn.
Fixed Sevagoth Shadow Claws having a Naramon polarity in the Stance slot.
Since Shadow Claws’ pre-installed Stance has no polarity, this had no effect on gameplay but the recent changes to polarity modding UI brought this discrepancy to light. Players who rearranged their polarities in the past will not have their polarities fixed.
Fixed various armor offset issues on the Sevagoth Glaukus Skin.
Fixed lingering Melee Incarnon Combo VFX while using Sevagoth’s Exalted Shadow.
Fixed getting teleported outside of the level after being downed as Sevagoth in a Crewship when it explodes during a Railjack mission.
NEW PLAYER EXPERIENCE CHANGES & FIXES
Increased the innate enemy sense (their ability to detect players) in Open Landscapes from 30m to 80m.
Waypoint markers will now appear on enemies in certain Open Landscape Bounties when the following conditions are met. The intention of these markers is to offer players assistance when they are having difficulty with the Bounty!
Exterminate Bounty: when 2 minutes remain.
Defend an Area: when Control Level falls below 30%.
Supply Sabotage: Carrier enemy is marked with 3 or fewer enemies remaining.
Made the following changes to lower-level missions to offer more engaging combat. Our goal is to strike a balance between not being too punishing, but also encouraging players to adopt behaviors that will help them take on harder content — ie. not just standing still and shooting folks.
Increased enemy spawns on Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Phobos, Ceres, and Jupiter (base version only, Steel Path remains the same).
Increased accuracy of Grineer and Corpus enemies below level 55.
Adjusted Grineer Trooper behavior to work more closely within their effective weapon range.
Increased base damage multiplier for Grineer and Corpus, but amended how it scales to compensate. The goal is to make them hit harder at lower levels, but keep things the same for higher difficulty content.
Reduced the amount of enemy spawns around the Spy Vault during the Vox Solaris Quest to make that section a bit less difficult for new players.
This level reduction has also been applied to Venus Spy missions below level 20.
Players are now unable to play regular missions during the Vor’s Prize Quest. This prioritizes the tutorial missions and reduces confusion on what nodes they should be playing — ie. the only one available to them will be the next mission in this Quest!
Once players have completed Vor’s Prize, the nodes they have unlocked will become accessible once more.
Improved the flow of the Saya’s Vigil Quest as follows:
Integrated Konzu’s “Prove Yourself” Bounty into Saya’s Vigil Quest instead of players needing to complete it and then initiate the Quest. The Tenno Guide will now take players to Cetus to talk to Konzu to streamline the process.
Improved waypoints and objective text to clarify next steps for players.
Removed “Refuse” voice line option when talking to Saya, as players can simply leave Cetus if they do not want to continue. Selecting it would require them to reload Cetus if they wanted to proceed.
Accepting Saya’s Quest will now direct players to walk through the Cetus doors instead of immediately teleporting them out into the Plains of Eidolon. This reinforces expected behavior of how to enter the Plains from Cetus once the Quest is complete.
Changed Vendor icons on the Cetus Map to white instead of yellow to contrast them from Quest objectives.
Changed Excavation waypoints and objective text as follows to better explain mission mechanics:
Once Extraction becomes available, the Extraction waypoint marker now remains completely visible for the remainder of the mission. “Get to Extraction” is now the Main Objective once players have completed one dig, with “Complete Additional Excavations” listed below it as a Bonus Objective.
For players who are learning this game mode, this ensures they know when and how they can leave. Experienced players will know to stick around for additional digs, if they wish!
Also rearranged “Digs Completed” HUD element to be below a new “Excavation” header to make room for the Bonus Objective text.
Updated mission transmissions to better explain mission mechanics and added additional hint transmissions.
Fixed players being teleported to the end of the Bullet Jump tutorial in the Awakening Quest if they fall into a certain teleport volume. Now they will be teleported to the start of the section they failed so they can re-attempt it!
Fixed the Necramech at the end of the Heart of Deimos Quest being a regular Necramech instead of the Quest-specific boss.
Also increased the overall health and tankiness of this foe.
Fixed Caches in the Vox Solaris Quest not being properly embedded in the ground.
Fixed enemies spawned during the Captain Vor fight in the Vor’s Prize Quest being level 10 instead of 3 (to match mission level).
ADDITIONS
Added a 100 x Air Support Blueprint Recipe to the Tenno Lab in your Clan Dojo!
Added an In Memoriam shrine to honor a Digital Extremes Tenno.
CHANGES
Increased the number of Forma Blueprints earned from Uncommon Void Relic rewards from 1 to 2.
This was a common request from the community, now made reality!
Reduced Steel Path Mirror Defense incursion waves from 5 to 2.
Updated all Mining Tool descriptions to include “Travel far from Hub settlements for the best chance of mining rare minerals”.
Reduced the sound muffling when using Ash’s Smoke Screen, Banshee’s Silence, Ivara’s Prowl, and Loki’s Invisibility.
High importance gameplay-related sounds will no longer have any muffling applied to them when these abilities are in-use.
Removed the ability to donate Duviri Orbiter Decorations to the Dojo if a Dojo Decoration recipe also exists for that item.
This was causing certain Dojos to be inaccessible if they marked a room containing the Duviri Orbiter Decoration variant for destruction.
Affected Duviri Orbiter Decorations in Clan Vaults have been replaced with appropriate resources to build the Dojo Recipe. Placed Duviri Orbiter Decorations in Dojos have been swapped to the Dojo Decoration variant as well.
Bundles containing color palettes will now list included the item as “[Name] Color Palette” on-hover to help clarify pack contents.
Adjusted the audio mix on the Tenet Glaxion.
Players can now interact with their parked Landing Crafts in the Chrysalith to leave the Hub, just like in Relays.
Reworked Mission 2 of the Duviri Paradox Quest to remove its tutorial elements, and added a small introduction to the Tales of Duviri book.
Since the Duviri Paradox was initially designed as an alternative starting point for new players, its early missions included various tutorial elements for Warframe gameplay. These are no longer necessary due to the Quest now being locked behind the Uranus Junction as of 36.0.8.
Added more space between subtitles and UI options lists so that they don’t overlap.
Changed the button on unowned equipment in the Arsenal from “Purchase” to “View Details” to clarify that it will take you to its Market page instead of inferring that it will be purchased upon selecting that button.
OPTIMIZATIONS
Optimized Duviri memory usage.
Fixed performance issues caused by Warframe Articula using a Loadout equipped with Harrow.

Fixed missing transmission portrait for Rude Zuud in the Exploiter Orb fight.
Fixed floating Cyst on the Hydroid Rakkam skin. Now the Cyst should be nicely nestled in his neck where it belongs!

Fixed various armor offset issues for the Drifter while wearing Vahd Pauldrons.
Fixed the right Syrinx Leg armor being slightly offset on Lavos.

Sony has launched the PSN Store “PlayStation Indies’ sale this August 21, and as one might expect, this is full of indie games made by smaller studios. If you’re looking for something new to play, then this might be it. There are over 1,300 items included in the sale, and we have our recommendations and of course, complete sales list available.
PSN Store “PlayStation Indies” Sale List of Games:
Recommendations:
V Rising (-25%, $29.99) – Action-RPG where you play as a vampire. It’s harder than it looks, and Stunlock is gearing up for something big after its 1.0 patch.
Dead by Daylight (-50%, $14.99) – Still heavily supported up to this day, and has a native PS5 version as well. There’s a Castlevania crossover incoming soon, and Five Nights at Freddy’s crossover also announced for 2025. If you’re tired of multiplayer shooters, then this might be your palette cleanser.
Cuphead (-30%, $13.99) – Cute animations but quite hard. It has a simple premise, and if you’re a fan of memorizing boss patterns then this should be a cakewalk for you (heh. Plus points since you can play this co-op, though prepare for the blame game when you do.
Stardew Valley (-20%, $11.99) – Still being supported, and if you dig life sims then you’re probably going to love this. My daughter still plays this a lot.
Pacific Drive (-30%, $20.99) – Still getting support, and might be one of the most unique games around. This is a survival game played in a first-person perspective and you’re in a friggin’ station wagon. Not an easy game, mind.
Overcooked 2 (-75%, $6.24) – If you’re not familiar with the franchise, it’s like Diner Dash but a lot more complex. Simple but addictive gameplay, and you can play this with multiple people though that makes it harder for some reason. Prepare for relationships to get strained since name-calling and blaming is part of the game.
Cult of the Lamb: Cultist Edition (-50%, $14.99) – Definitely worth it, and just got a big free update as well. This one has been on sale multiple times, and is just a ton of fun. Build your cult, slay monsters, rinse and repeat. It’s deeper than it looks.
Outlast Trinity (-90%, $5.89) – Includes Outlast, Whistleblower, and Outlast 2. Excellent horror games (not survival horror but more like Isolation). You can’t really fight back in these, though the tension and atmosphere are what brings it over the edge.
Hell Let Loose (-40%, $35.99) – Still a bit too high in price for me, but this is still heavily supported up to this day with free and paid content drops. Era FPS in case you want something not Call of Duty or Battlefield.
Dredge (-40%, $14.99) – Just got a huge DLC this month, and this is an RPG fishing game with Loecraftian horror elements. It’s not for everyone, but might be worth a shot at that price.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (-30%, $27.99) – Recently released, this is an action-RPG who must fight against the gods. Nope. nowhere near God of War’s level of quality and depth. Janky, but if you’re looking for a AA game to finish for the year, then this could be it. Check YT for gameplay to see if you’ll dig it.
Inside (-75%, $4.99) – Amazing platforming game that has unique puzzles. One of Playdead’s masterpieces. Loved this a lot, and at that price, definitely worth it.
Fricitonal Collection (-35%, $59.75) – Includes Amnesia: The Bunker, Amnesia: Rebirth, Amnesia: Collection and SOMA. Definitely worth it if you dig Frictional’s style of horror.
SOMA (-80%, $5.99) – Amnesia but in sci-fi. First-person horror, lots of exploration and puzzle solving. I’d say a bit more action-y than Amnesia, but not everyone might like that.
The Talos Principle Collection (-50%, $24.99) – Not played this, but a friend swears by the two games. Expect puzzle solving in first-person.
Quantum Error (-50%, $14.99) – Survival horror in space or cosmic horror. Definitely not as good as the Resident Evil games, has a good load of bugs (not sure if the devs patched them all out). Probably still not worth it at that price? But if you want a new horror game to play with friends to joke around with, then perhaps give this a go? Just don’t expect this to finish it since the game isn’t that good.
Trek to Yomi (-70%, $5.99) – Side scrolling samurai game that has an interesting art style. Developed by Flying Wild Hog who made the Shadow Warrior games.
Valiant Hearts: The Collection (-50%, $12.49) – The Great War is on sale for just $3.74. This bundle includes The Great War and Coming Home. Have not played Coming Home, but the original base game has a great story, charming art style. Just don’t expect a deep gameplay experience, but it should cover your gaming weekend if you wan t something new.
Child of Light (-70%, $4.49) – Platforming RPG by Ubisoft. Exquisite art, and gameplay not shabby either. I think I remember playing this on the Vita, but worth a look erven if it’s old.

Embark has released The Finals update 1.000.046 today for patch version 3.10 and this comes with a new crosshair customization feature. A new World Tour is also introduced in today’s update. Read on for The Finals August 21 patch noted down below.
The Finals Update 1.000.046 for Version 3.10 Patch Notes:
The next update for THE FINALS is here and with it we’re saying farewell to the DISSUN Challenge as we enter the next stop on the World Tour – the VAIIYA International!
Before diving into the rest of today’s changes, we need to take a moment to celebrate that you all completed the Community Event! You made it juuuuuuuust in time, but $100 BILLION was cashed out in World Tour in just a week, and as a result you can all expect the DISSUN racing helmet to appear in your inventories later this week.
We are excited to introduce more options to our crosshair customization feature, a much-requested QOL feature! You’ll be able to edit both the static and dispersive crosshair parts independently of each other and we’ve added further crosshair reticles for you to choose from. Let us know what you think!
For Cashout, we’re experimenting with the “Defender bonus,” which will help teams currently defending the cashout get back in the action faster! We’re also adding some balance changes to the mix!
For those of you on that World Tour grind, we’re lowering the number of wins needed to progress through Emerald. Emerald 4 will now need 3 wins rather than 10, and making it all the way to Emerald 1 will now take 63 wins, down from the previous 75.
We also have a fully stocked store for you to check out, both in-game and in the video below, as well as other bug fixes!
Let’s dive into the details:
Balance Changes
Gadgets
Dome Shield
Decreased duration from 12s to 5.5s
Dev Note: The Dome Shield was always intended as temporary protection that would synergize well with supportive actions. Over time, its main use case has been as a ‘mobile fortress’ used to steal objectives. We want teams to have to secure the area first in order to steal an objective. To encourage this intended design, we’ve adjusted the Dome Shield’s duration.
Goo Grenade
Decreased the time it takes for fire to destroy goo from 12s to 9s
Dev Note: We feel our previous buff to the goo, which was intended to aid defensive play, was a little too heavy-handed and removed fire’s role as a hard-counter to goo.
Game Modes
Cashout
Introduced a defender bonus for teams that currently hold a Cashout Station. While they hold the objective, the dead players on the defending team will be able to spend any respawn coins they have after 15 seconds, rather than 30 seconds
Dev Note: We see cashouts getting stolen at higher rates than expected. This change encourages teams to start and defend cashouts rather than swooping in late. This is part of a series of changes we’re making to incentivize acting first when it comes to objectives rather than later and an ongoing part of our Cashout experimentation.
World Tour
We’ve reduced the number of Cashout Tournament wins needed to reach each level of Emerald, for example, Emerald 4 will require 3 wins instead of 10 and the total wins needed for Emerald 1 is now 63 instead of 75.
Specializations
Goo Gun
Decreased the time it takes for fire to destroy goo from 12s to 9s
Winch Claw
Decreased the max range from the Winch Claw from 17m to 12m
Dev Note: The Winch Claw is meant to enable combat in short-range fights. We feel this new range better reflects this intent.
Weapons
Throwing Knives
Decreased the fire rate of the primary fire from 125rpm to 107rpm
Dev Note: Throwing Knives have become quite an oppressive weapon! We’ll monitor this change closely and likely make more involved changes if this adjustment doesn’t do enough to address that feeling.

Activision and Treyarch Studios have just released some brand-new Call of Duty Black Ops 6 campaign gameplay, giving us our first look at “Most Wanted,” one of the game’s signature infiltration missions.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Campaign Gameplay
About the “Most Wanted” Mission:
“Welcome to “Most Wanted” mission, a clandestine, signature Call of Duty®: Black Ops infiltration with high stakes and even higher rewards: In this case, the retrieval and rescue of the notorious and legendary wildcard operative Russell Adler from a CIA Black Site hidden below the Capitol Station in Washington D.C.
Playing the role of “Case”, a key member of the Black Ops team led by Frank Woods, your cohorts on the ground are comprised of Woods’ protégé Troy Marshall, backed up by technical guru Felix Neumann, and Sevati “Sev” Dumas, an infiltration and assassination specialist. As the action begins, Troy and Felix have commandeered a S.W.A.T. truck parked on the edge of the Capitol Station grounds, and the two are confirming Felix’s latest gadget – a camera with retinal scanning capabilities – is operational. Now the time has come for its first field test.
Marshall sums up the mission succinctly: You’re to show up to a political fundraiser, obtain retinal identification from a senator who has the clearance to enter the Black Site, and grab Adler from the Black Site before anyone knows what’s happening.
Naturally, that’s easier said than done.”
It wouldn’t be Call of Duty without all kinds of action, which typically involve shootouts and explosives. But I’ll say it’s a surprise to see other gameplay opportunities offered, and Most Wanted is undoubtedly filled with those. It looks like we’ll be taking on almost a James Bond-esque role, with the whole black ties and secret gadgets, and I’m all for that. Luckily, the wait is just a few short months, as Black Ops 6 will officially launch on October 25 for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. We’ll also be able to get our hands on it a tad earlier, at least the multiplayer, as the beta for Black Ops 6 kicks off on September 4.

All items in that character group’s Shared Stash go into a new Withdraw Only set of Shared Stash tabs, denoted by a check marked Past box. Be sure to get any items out before then or they will be forever lost!
Just last week, TiMi Studio shared that they were considering changing the name of Delta Force: Hawks Ops to something else. Well, that was a quick decision to make apparently, as the studio announced today that they are dropping the “Hawk Ops” part in the title, and the upcoming free-to-play game will just be called “Delta Force.”
Alongside the name change, we get a new trailer that debuted in gamescom Opening Night Live!
The trailer confirms that Delta Force will be hitting Steam Early Access in Q4 2024, and that the game has been wishlisted 1.5 million times on Steam! Expect Delta Force to make an appearance in Steam Next Fest in October with new reveals and gameplay details.
Delta Force is an upcoming free-to-play tactical shooter, which will feature large-scale multiplayer modes, as well as an action-packed single-player/co-op campaign, a deep weapons arsenal for customization, and more. The currently running Alpha test includes both multiplayer modes:
Havoc Warfare: A 32v32 player game mode where teams battle across two massive maps (available in the Alpha) of authentic terrain, utilizing a range of military vehicles, tanks and aircraft to take on the enemy across the large living battlefields.
Hazard Operations: Form a squad of three to take on rival teams and marauding AI-controlled mercenaries and Royal Guards. Random events across three huge maps (available in the Alpha) will keep players on their toes, while PvE-focused missions can be completed for valuable loot.
Finally, for those waiting on news about the mobile and console versions of the shooter, TiMi has confirmed that news about those versions will be ‘coming soon.” Hopefully, it’s good news, as based on the hands-on we’ve had with the game so far, we think shooter fans are in for a treat.
Civilization VII is set to launch on February 11, 2025, as announced by Firaxis Games during gamescom 2024. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Mac.
The news was accompanied by the first gameplay trailer, giving fans a glimpse of the game’s visuals, which blend the vibrant style of Civilization VI with more realistic elements from earlier titles.
Firaxis also revealed pricing details, with the game available in Standard, Deluxe, and Founders Editions priced at $69.99, $99.99, and $129.99, respectively. A 20-minute gameplay showcase on Twitch is scheduled to provide further insights.
Watch the gameplay trailer here:
About Civilization VII:
In Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, your strategic decisions shape the unique cultural lineage of your evolving empire. Rule as one of many legendary leaders from throughout history and steer the course of your story by choosing a new civilization to represent your empire in each Age of human advancement.
In a surprise content drop, Bethesda has released the Starfield new update for August 20, and this brings the Rev-8 land vehicle, new features, fixes and a lot more. This surprise patch was revealed at gamescom Opening Night Live, and we have the full patch notes available below.
New settings:
Frame Rate Target: You can now choose between 30, 40, 60 or an Uncapped frame rate on VRR displays. If you do not have a VRR display running 120hz, you will still be able to select from 30 or 60. Screen tearing may occur at times when selecting 60 on a non-VRR display.
Prioritize: You can now prioritize between Visuals and Performance while trying to maintain the frame rate target. If you’re choosing a frame rate target of 60 or above, we recommend changing this to Performance. Prioritizing Visuals keeps the highest resolution while maintaining full detail for special effects, lighting, and crowds. Prioritizing Performance lowers internal resolution and detail for special effects, lighting, and crowds. Both modes may adjust internal resolution dynamically when scenes or action get heavier as well. When switching between modes, you will see the lighting change briefly as the system catches up to the new mode.
VSync: You can now toggle between VSync off or on. Choosing off will separate the game frames from the monitor’s refresh rate and may result in screen tearing. Toggling On will synchronize the frame rate to the monitor’s refresh rate avoiding screen tearing but limiting number of frames.
