Marvel’s Avengers Being Removed From Digital Storefronts by End of the Month, Now at 90% Off

Marvel’s Avengers will be removed from digital storefronts after September 30, 2023. To ensure that most people can access the game, Square Enix has put it on sale at 90% discount, available for only $3.99 on Xbox, PlayStation, and Steam.

There were rumors earlier this year that Crystal Dynamics would stop updating the game by the end of the year. Soon after, these rumors were confirmed as the developer announced that it would end support for the game in September 2023.

There was a lot of hype surrounding Marvel’s Avengers upon its announcement, and expectations were high. Our review gave it a glowing score and stated, “Marvel’s Avengers is a solid game thanks to its single-player story mission, and fun combat mechanics. However, a rather average endgame loop has made this hero fall a few times during its flight.” However, Crystal Dynamics was unable to sustain its momentum.

They hoped to make a comeback with post-launch content but that did not happen either. Despite releasing fan-favorite Marvel characters such as Black Panther and more, the game just could not get its initial hype back.

It is leaving digital storefronts and your only opportunity to secure a digital copy of Marvel’s Avengers expires on September 30, 2023.

New Destiny 2 Update Disables Select Exotic and Legendary Frames and Perks

Destiny 2 players have been affected by a nasty bug (exploit?) recently wherein specific weapon perks were allowed to be crafted into other legendary weapons. There’s a new Destiny 2 update hotfix released this September 18 (September 17 for those in PDT), that aims to resolve this and more.

Note that this is a server-side hotfix and doesn’t require a client download/patch.

New Destiny 2 Update Hotfix for September 18 (September 17) Patch Notes:

Below is the screenshot players will see when they log into to Destiny 2., as well as the announcement by Bungie:

In the first of multiple updates, which is going live shortly, a selection of Exotic and Legendary frames and perks on crafted weapons will be temporarily disabled. Crafted weapons can still be equipped.

This includes: Osteo Striga, Revision Zero, Dead Man’s Tale, Dead Messenger, Vexcalibur, and all three Exotic class glaives. This will not affect any versions of these that exist that were not crafted.

We’re currently building a second fix focused on replacing illegitimate perks on crafted weapons.

As you can see, there is a second fix hotfix set to be released as well. Once we know more about that, we’ll let our readers know.

How to Beat Parade Master in Lies of P

There are countless bosses in Lies of P, including Parade Master and Mad Donkey, that will test players’ mettle and abilities. Like any good Soulslike, the trash mobs prove little more than cannon fodder to practice your skills before the big fight. In this case, the first boss you’ll tackle in Lies of P is Parade Master, and he’s a bit of a doozy if you’re still learning the block and parry mechanics. Here’s how to beat Parade Master in Lies of P!

Dealing With Parade Master’s First Phase

To properly deal with Parade Master, you must first realize that he has multiple phases. His first phase is relatively tame, with a charge attack, a bellyflop, and a few different swings and slams. You can easily dodge or outright block most of these before landing a few hits of your own. Just be wary because he will turn red in his rage mode, which you cannot block. You must dodge these attacks.

First and foremost, I recommend coming in swinging strong. As soon as you enter the arena, Parade Master is before you. He’ll start lumbering forth and, more often than not, start his first phase with a few slam attacks and a swing or two. Wait for an opening, then pop your Fable Art, specifically the one attached to your sword’s blade, not the hilt, and deal massive damage.

Like most boss fights in Soulslike titles, Parade Master is a test of attrition. You don’t want to play too aggressively, but you don’t want to let him run over you. Block and dodge when you can, then land a few attacks. Then, repeat the process. When he bellyflops, dodge backward, then rush forward to hit him as many times as possible before he rises once more.

Before long, he’ll enter his second phase. You’ll know when he rips the giant cage off and slams it to the ground before tearing his head off.

Beating Parade Master’s Second Phase

At approximately 50% health, Parade Master enters his second phase. He’ll slam the cage down, which you can dodge easily, and remove his head to use as a weapon. You can attack and deal some damage during this transition, but it’s reduced considerably.

Thankfully, even during his second phase, Parade Master’s attacks prove pretty slow and easy to maneuver around. But he does hit for more damage per hit, so be wary. In Lies of P, blocking and parrying an attack is typically better than dodging. You don’t have many I-frames here, and dodging is often slow and cumbersome.

If you’ve refilled your Fable Arts bar, pop the ability once more as soon as he slows or staggers to maximize damage output.

Parade Master Boss Drop

Upon defeating Parade Master, he’ll drop the Parade Leader’s Ergo, an Ergo Fragment containing 5,000 Ergo, and Quartz, which you’ll use later to upgrade your abilities.

We recommend hanging on to the Parade Leader’s Ergo. It’s super attractive to pop it immediately and level up a whole bunch, but there is a rare merchant you’ll meet later who will trade unique items and weapons for these boss fragments. It’s entirely up to you, though. That rush of immediate power is undoubtedly an attractive option.

How to Level Up Fast in Lies of P

Lies of P includes numerous progression systems to help make your build stronger. You can focus on improving your weapons, upgrading the Legion Arm, or leveling your character to bolster their health, stamina, defenses, and weapon damage. But the issue is that these systems require the same resource: Ergo. You need to spend Ergo wisely and effectively, but it helps when you learn how to level up fast in Lies of P!

Where to Get Ergo

As you slay enemies throughout the game, they drop Ergo. For a trash mob, like the usual puppet dogs or police officers, you will only receive a small handful. Say, around 30 Ergo in total. It’s certainly not enough to pay for an upgrade or level up at Hotel Krat. But as you start learning enemy spawn positions and work to farm an area, you can score big.

For example, in the first area, Krat Central Station Plaza, upon waking up in the train car, I farmed the enemies multiple times to reach level 20 before ever tackling Parade Master. Sure, it was somewhat of a grind, but it helped me to learn the mechanics and become stronger before the first boss fight.

In the early game, the only real threat you face comes in the form of ranged mobs, which fire rifles or shotguns at you. These hit hard, so keep an eye on them. But if you’re in the middle of combat with melee mobs, it’s tough to watch the enemy in the background. As such, you’ll want to deal with any ranged puppets first.

Form a Route

Once more, using Krat Central Station Plaza as an example, if you form a route to clear enemies, you’ll find yourself raking in up to 2000 Ergo for your troubles. That’s not including any Ergo Fragments you loot when slaying foes.

If you start at Krat Central Station Plaza Stargazer, the first Stargazer you restore, then work your way through the area to the second Stargazer near the Wandering Merchant, just before Parade Master, you’ll run into tens of enemies to farm. Hit this Stargazer, then work your way back. Every run is between 1600-2000 Ergo, and this early in the game, it takes less than 1,000 Ergo to level up in Lies of P.

Stats You Should Level First in Lies of P

Once you farm Ergo in Lies of P, you need to carefully consider how to level your character. The best starting stats to focus on include:

  • Vitality: Increases health points and guard regeneration.
  • Vigor: Improves stamina and total defense.
  • Motivity/Technique: Choose whichever one scales best for your weapon to improve its damage.

Lies of P Tips & Tricks for Beginners

In the same vain as countless other Soulslike titles, including the recent Elden Ring, Lies of P features a tough-as-nails combat system that relies heavily on blocking, parrying, and the occasional dodge. You’ll spend less time performing the latter, so forget what you know about the sub-genre and prepare for a whooping or two as you learn the block and parry mechanics. To help you kick some puppet butt, let our Lies of P tips and tricks for beginners guide help you!

Focus On Blocking

First and foremost, once again, you need to forget the combat styles of Elden Ring and Dark Souls, which focus heavily on dodging. In Lies of P, the developers want you to learn how to block and parry incoming attacks successfully. Blocking is, of course, all about timing. As soon as you see the enemy wind up for an attack, hit that block button. If you time it correctly, you’ll perform a successful block and can parry their attack for a bit of extra damage.

That said, there are some situations in which dodging makes the most sense. For instance, when an enemy enters their frenzied glowing red state, you can’t block those attacks, so dodging is the only option.

Don’t Be Afraid to Heal

Lies of P Boss Encounter

Like in other Soulslike titles, you have limited healing items in Lies of P. Here, they’re called Pulse Cells, and you start the game with just three fully charged cells. They reset each time you rest at Stargazers, and those are relatively few and far between. But unlike other titles in the genre, Lies of P is gracious. As you deal damage to foes, your Pulse Cell will automatically regenerate. It’s not a death sentence to run out of healing items in Lies of P, so use them wisely but willingly.

Pick Up Your Dropped Ergo Quickly

When you die, you drop all of your Ergo. This is Lies of P’s answer to souls, and you require quite a bit to level up, buy new weapons, and purchase other aid items from the various roaming vendors in the game.

Unfortunately, if you die and drop your Ergo, you’re on the clock. The longer it takes for you to scoop up your lost resource, the more you lose. You see, the game reduces the amount of Ergo you recover for every second it’s on the ground.

Spend Ergo Wisely

Speaking of Ergo, each time you level up in Lies of P, the Ergo cost increases significantly. As such, your first tens of levels genuinely make a difference because the deeper into the game you get, the higher the cost to level up. Eventually, it’ll feel like you hit a wall as progress slows seemingly to a halt.

For your first few levels, we recommend investing in Vitality to increase your health pool, then Motivity or Technique to increase weapon damage output.

Explore the Game World

Lies of P World Exploration

One of the most important Lies of P tips we have for you is to explore the game world in earnest. Around every corner, each nook and cranny in the devastated city, you’ll find useful items and enemies to farm. The loot spawns both in random chests and on the ground, and you’ll find weapons, quest objectives, and Quartz.

Furthermore, you’ll occasionally run into NPCs in the world. These offer quests, lore, and other insights that may prove useful as you progress deeper into the game. In fact, some of the NPCs you discover in the game world will return with you to Hotel Krat, offering their unique services in the hub area.

Stay tuned for additional Lies of P guides at MP1st!

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Features 65 Suits, Symbiote Suit Can Be “Felt” via DualSense, Parry Feature Confirmed & More Gameplay Details

If you don’t want to swing around the game with the traditional Spider-Man suit for Peter Parker or Miles Morales in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you don’t have to, as the game features a whopping 65 suits to use! Alongside this a ton of gameplay details have also surfaced online.

Thanks to various hands-on previews of the game now being shared by content creators worldwide, we have a ton of info for the upcoming Sony PS5 exclusive.

In terms of suits, it’s been mentioned that the symbiote suit is hypersensitive to sound, and this translates to it being “felt” by the player through the DualSense’s haptic feedback. Thankfully, the symbiote is alternative costume for Spidey, so this means you can use its powers even when using one of the other suits (if you somehow want the look of another suit but want the symbiote powers).

Another new addition to the game is being able to parry, which can be done by pressing L1 on the controller.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Gameplay Details From Previews:

  • ▪️30, 40, 60FPS modes, all with ray-tracing and 120Hz (VRR support)
  • ▪️Much more destructible interactivity with the environment
  • ▪️Over 65 spider suits to choose from (comics, films, original designs)
  • ▪️Some quests will be story specific to either Peter Parker or Miles Morales
  • ▪️Map nearly double in size compared to first game with Queens + Brooklyn
  • ▪️Points of interest represented by more immersive visual cues out in the open world that grab your attention
  • ▪️Peter’s mechanized Spider-Arms are available by default now (story reasons)
  • ▪️”Web Grabber” ability fires webs in all directions and grabs enemies and anything else to pull them in for a powerful AOE attack (sewer drain cover for example launch into the group like a missile)
  • ▪️Symbiote’s L3+R3 “Symbiote Surge” is a savage grab-and-slam special attack
  • ▪️Peter’s symbiote Black Suit is hypersensitive to sound, felt through the DualSense
  • ▪️On top of dodging, parrying attacks is now an option with L1
  • ▪️The game is darker themed, but there is “tons of humor and funny remarks” throughout
  • Doubled the size of Marvel’s New York. Expanding beyond the East River, you’ll swing and soar over iconic landmarks across Queens and Brooklyn.
  • Near Instantaneous Switching between Peter and Miles!
  • Help students at Brooklyn Visions as Miles Morales or accept new requests for aid as Peter Parker via the Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man app – you can even choose to tackle certain activities as either Spider-Man!
  • Features 65 suits, which include new original designs and fan favorites from films and comics, players will have an expansive wardrobe of costumes to equip in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. We’re also delighted to announce Suit Styles, an all-new feature that unlocks alternate color shaders for some suits, which provide over 200 ways for you to outfit your Spider-hero!
  • A special collab with EARTHGANG (feat. Benji) to bring you “Swing,” a new music track featured in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Listen to it first in our DDE trailer above!
  • A parry feature has been introduced.
  • Symbiote Surge, filled via landing successful attacks, it amplifies his damage output and abilities until the meter drains, encouraging players to unleash hell until it does.
  • When you come off those slingshots in the open world, I think you’re going about three times as fast as we could in the first game.
  • Features ambisonics [a full-sphere surround sound format] and positional audio for even more of the objects that are in the scene.
  • Characters models are more dense than they have been in the past.
  • Much more destructible interactivity with the environment.
  • Peter’s symbiote Black Suit is hypersensitive to sound, felt through the DualSense.
  • Boss fights feels much more intimate and strategic than the boss fights of the previous entries.
  • Progression is shared between Peter and Miles. This way, neither will be left behind if you prefer to stick with one Spider-Man.
  • No shortage of side missions
  • Awe inspiring amount of traffic
  • “Spider-Man 2 is in the same ball-park as the first game in terms of overall play time,”
  • Gwen isn’t part of Insomniac’s Narrative.
  • Miles or Peter could join you during the open world crime fights.
  • You can Loop de Loop while diving and executing a swing – just don’t let go! You can also do a Corner Tether to make immediate quick turns.
  • Symbiote suit is an alternative suit, so the the symbiote abilities can be used with other suits.

Alongside the info dump, there’s new gameplay as well! Watch 13 minutes of it that features various parts of the game. We see the symbiote suit in action, as well as traversal elements, and even a boss fight too.

I have to admit, the game is looking insanely good so far. Fortunately for us, the wait is almost over, as Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 swings out on the PS5 this October 20.

Thanks, Shinobi, ResetEra. IGN

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Will Feature Ray-Tracing in All Graphical and Performance Modes

It looks like Insomniac Games is putting out all the stops for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 when it comes to the game’s visuals. With previews for the game now swinging its way out today, it’s been confirmed that all of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s graphical, performance modes will feature ray-tracing!

This was confirmed by Insomnic Games Marketing Director James Stevenson over on Twitter today where he cited 30fps, 40fps, and 60fps (the frame-rate of the different modes) are all running with ray-tracing enabled.

While this might not be huge news for PC gamers, for consoles, this is unheard of (ray tracing on all modes). This is definitely good news for PS5 owners wondering how the game will perform on the console. Let’s hope that other games manage to pull this technical feat of as well.

For more no Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, go watch the latest gameplay video from the recent State of Play show right here, where more gameplay info was revealed too.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases on October 20, 2023, exclusively on the PS5.

Enriched Crowd Atmospheres delivers the most energetic Chel crowd to date. New waves of event reactions support significant stoppages, rushes down the ice, Exhaust Engine peaks, and those dramatic comeback moments that make the arena feel alive.

Dynamic Rink Boards is an expansion of the augmented reality broadcast. Rink boards are built to communicate key on-ice moments, from delayed penalties, goal summaries, stat milestones, and vanity backdrops to accentuate those big Flex Cam moments.

NHL 24 will be out this October 6 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, with three days early access if players purchase the X-Factor edition. To check out the game’s new features, head on over here.

New Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Rewards and Map This Week September 15

Destiny‘s Trials of Osiris weekly PvP mode is back this Friday with a new map and rewards. If you’re wondering about the current rotation, we’ve got you covered: MP1st’s new Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris rewards and map this week September 15, 2023 post lists down all that information in full below.

New Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Rewards This Week September 15, 2023:

Trials of Osiris Map:

Javelin-4

Rewards:

  • Reputation Rank 4: Upgrade Module (2)
  • Reputation Rank 7: Enhancement Prism (3)
  • Reputation Rank 10: Trials Weapon (Changes for each rank reset)
  • Reputation Rank 13: Upgrade Module (2)
  • Reputation Rank 16: Trials Weapon (Changes for each rank reset)
  • Flawless Reward: Igneous Hammer (Adept)

Reputation System, Trials Engrams, and Adept Farming

Win individual rounds within each match to gain Trials reputation. The amount of reputation you gain increases with each round you’ve won on your card. Earn enough reputation, and you’ll be able to claim a Trials Engram from Saint-14! This engram can be focused into any currently available trials loot you have previously obtained, or it can be taken to Master Rahool for a random Trials drop. Your reputation increases after every match completion, based on the number of round-wins on your card, regardless of the result of that match itself (win or lose, 0-5 or 5-4).

Once you have gone Flawless, keep playing! Every win you achieve while at the 7-win level, even if you lose your Flawless, has a chance to drop bonus Trials Engrams, adept weapons, prisms, and even Ascendant Shards. There is no penalty for losing once you’ve made it to the Lighthouse!

When you’re done, you can cash in your 7-win passage for one additional adept drop, granted you have gone Flawless that week. This resets your card so you can start anew.

Passages

Name Perk Cost
Passage of Ferocity Your third match win grants a bonus win. 15 Legendary Shards
Passage of Mercy Forgives one loss per run. Forgives a second loss if you have not yet been flawless this week. 15 Legendary Shards
Passage of Wealth Increased reputation from match wins on a ticket. 25 Legendary Shards
Passage of Confidence Grants bonus rewards from Flawless Chest. 50 Legendary Shards

What’s a Xûr?

Xûr, Agent of the Nine, is a strange vendor who randomly appears in a Public Sector on one of the Worlds. Xûr sells Exotic equipment (as well as Engrams and Legendary equipment), and only accepts Legendary Shards as payment.

TL;DR: He’s the Santa of Destiny and every weekend’s Christmas. Sometimes he brings you what you want; sometimes he brings you coal. Mostly it’s coal.

When does Xûr visit?

Xûr returns every Friday at 17:00 UTC and departs at Weekly Reset (Tuesday 17:00 UTC). If you would like to see all the live conversions of Time Zones, please follow this link here.

(Thanks as always, /r/DestinyTheGame!)

MechWarrior 5: Clans Sets Sights on 2024 Release for PC, Consoles; Features Listed

Piranha Games has announced that MechWarrior 5: Clans is set for release sometime in 2024 for both consoles and PC! While there’s no definite release date yet, we do have a new teaser trailer and the game’s features list.

MechWarrior 5: Clans Features:

  • The Clan Invasion is here: For the first time since MechWarrior 2 (released in 1995), pilots can immerse themselves in an action packed Clan Invasion story – one of the most epic time periods in the franchise that changed the course of the Inner Sphere’s factions and politics forever. MechWarrior 5: Clans is the absolute perfect entry point into the MechWarrior universe for newcomers, and the game which veteran pilots have been waiting more than 30 years to play.
  • This Isn’t Run-and-Gun, This is MechWarrior: Celebrated core MechWarrior combat returns in MechWarrior 5: Clans. Pilots must strategically plan and execute Star-based team assaults if they are going to bring honor to Clan Smoke Jaguar while advancing their position within the Inner Sphere.
  • Customizable Mechs: Victory starts in your Mech Lab with an expanded collection of technologically advanced Clan weapon systems, equipment and Upgrades. Clan Mech’s superior technology grants you the ability to swap out larger parts for greater customization and functionality ahead of assaults. Plan accordingly based on terrain, structure, and biome specificity for the best chance at victory.
  • All-Star Strategy: Your squadron (aka your Star) is depending on you. Protect the members of your Star in battle, deepening your bond as you engage the Inner Sphere’s determined defenders. Immerse yourself in the story as you lead your Star through the complex missions and thrilling combat.
  • Stunning Visual Design: Harnessing the power of Unreal Engine, MechWarrior 5: Clans abounds in environmental detail and destruction – from precisely designed confined cityscapes to bogs spanning incredible distances, battles will take shape on breathtaking landscapes and the complex infrastructure of the Inner Sphere.

MechWarrior fans have something to look forward to next year after waiting since 2019 for a new entry in the franchise. Once we know a proper release date for MechWarrior 5: Clans, which is coming to PC, Xbox and PlayStation, we’ll let our readers know.
