Final Fantasy 16 Performance Updates, Motion Blur Options and More in the Works

Square Enix says they’re working on updates to improve the frame rate of Final Fantasy 16 while also confirming a number of other features and issues that are being looked into ahead of launch.

As revealed during the Q&A section of the special pre-launch FF16 stream, the development team took to answering a question about frame rate drops that players noticed during the demo, acknowledging and saying that they would be working on updates addressing this issue for the final release.

“We will be working on updates to improve frame rate. Currently, we find that frame rate is dropping in areas where there’s a lot of characters are being shown on screen, such as towns. We’re going to be working on this and further optimizing the game moving forward, so please don’t worry about that.” Localization Director Michael-Christopher Koji Fox clarified.

While they did confirm that a day one update would come that would bring some of those changes, the wording used by them did indicate that we would see multiple updates around performance improvements.

But performance improvements won’t be the only thing possibly coming with future FF16 updates, as the team has heard players complain about the motion blur. Options to adjust and even turn it off are being looked into, as well as camera options such as turning speed and the ability to turn auto-follow off.

One other thing that players have asked for is the addition of a mini-map. Sadly this doesn’t seem to be a feature they’re going to add, as they noted that they decided against this due to players’ focus on the mini-map during exploration rather than the world itself. Post-demo areas will allow you to use the touchpad to bring up the map, but otherwise, there are no plans to add a mini-map., They did, however, say that they are considering more binding options.

Elsewhere, the team also confirmed that they’re currently investigating crash reports from the demo, and as a possible remedy that worked for some, suggested players clean their PS5 air vents from potential dust build-up from years of use. Again, they’re looking into this issue, along with PlayStation to see what is the cause of these crashes.

Glad to see they’re working on more updates, and hopefully, a number of performance issues will be worked out in the day one patch.

Final Fantasy 16 is set for release this June 22 on the PS5.

Final Fantasy 16 Day One Update Revealed; Not Needed to Play the Game

Despite announcing that there wouldn’t be one, the development team behind Final Fantasy 16 has confirmed that there will indeed be a FF16 day one update, though a minor one at that.

This was confirmed in the special pre-launch live stream that aired today, where game’s producer Naoki Yoshida noted that an update would be available on day one for physical owners, while digital owners could expect it to be either included in the pre-load once that becomes available or at least be downloaded and ready before launch. While the team initially stated that there wouldn’t be a day one update previously, Yoshi-P did apologize to the fans for previously saying there wouldn’t be a day one update, though they did confirm that the update wouldn’t be required to play the game and that it was only a minor update.

“What we just want everyone to know is that this update will come before the day one release. So if you have the digital version and you’ve already downloaded on the system and if your PS5 is hooked up to the internet, it will download this automatically, and it will be ready for day one so people will be ready to play as soon as the game unlocks. Also, this is a very, very minor issue, and so even if you don’t get the update, you will still be able to play the base game. This is a rapid patch, so it’s not necessary to actually play the game. So those of you who don’t have an internet connection, and maybe can’t get it in time, you will still be able to play the game.”

Below are the official day one update patch notes that were revealed during the stream.

Final Fantasy 16 Day One Update Patch Notes

  • Fix a control flag issue that can make progress impossible under very specific circumstances.
  • Fix an issue wherein the game close unexpectedly under very specific circumstances.
  • Optimize performance in several places
  • Fix some minor text errors

That seems to be it. Once the patch is live, we’ll let our readers know.

Final Fantasy 16 Leaked Physical Copies Being Investigated by Square Enix, Will Takedown Early Images, Vids and Streams

Just yesterday, we posted that there are Final Fantasy 16 (Final Fantasy XVI) discs that have been sold a week early breaking the game’s June 22 street date. Square Enix has acknowledged the Final Fantasy 16 leaked physical copies and has issued a statement.

According to the company, they are investigating what happened and are trying to limit “illegitimate acquisitions.” They are also asking those who got an early copy to not share screenshots, videos or livestream it. Check out the complete statement below.

We’re aware that a small number of physical copies of Final Fantasy XVI are being circulated. We are in the process of a thorough investigation into the illegitimate acquisitions and are acting out to limit this ahead of the official launch of the game on June 22nd.

For those who receive a copy ahead of launch, we kindly ask that you do not share any aspect of the game; including screenshots, videos and livestreams until after Final Fantasy XVI has officially launched.

Our priority is to ensure that the full game experience is not spoiled for our fans, and to do that we will be taking down any images, videos or streams published ahead of launch day.

We ask for your assistance and cooperation in this final week ahead of launch.

It’s almost June 22nd, and we can’t wait for you to experience the full game the way the development team intended.

Sincerely,
The Final Fantasy XVI Team

We’re not sure how many copies were leaked ahead of release, but if there’s a lot, keeping tabs on each and every leak will be very, very hard — especially in this day and age where everything gets shared.

With just a week to go, we suggest not going into message boards or places where details about the game might get leaked. I mean, there’s a demo for it out anyway, so people can just opt to play that instead.

Final Fantasy 16 will be out this June 22 on the PS5.

Diablo 4 First “Real Patch” Over 13 Pages Long, Scroll of Escape Auto-Use in Hardcore Planned for Disconnects

Blizzard recently hosted a “Diablo IV Campfire Chat” where members of the dev team gathered around to discuss the state of the game now that it’s been out in the wild for a few weeks. While Blizzard has rolled out numerous patches and hotfixes for the game, the Diablo 4 first “real patch” is on the way, and it’s a massive one clocking it at over 13 pages long and counting.

Update (June 27): The patch Blizzard was referring to is now live! Check out the complete patch notes here.

This detail and more was revealed by the Diablo 4 dev team. The chat was hosted by Franchise General Manager Rod Fergusson, Associate Production Director Tiffany Wat, Game Director Joe Shely, and Community Lead Adam Fletcher.

In the livestream, Fergusson announced a “big ‘real patch'” coming soon, with the scale of the patch possibly causing maintenance for the game when it comes out. Fletcher also revealed a physical document containing the patch notes on stream, though it won’t be made public until it’s set to go live.

Fergusson: We already have a big “real patch” coming, and so that’s something that’s gone through certification. It’s out there. It’s going to address a lot of things, including performance issues. And it’s so big, we’re actually talking about there’s the potential we may actually choose to have a maintenance window and say, “Y’know, we’re going to bring the whole game down, we’re gonna apply this big patch, and then we’re going to bring it all back up.”

Fletcher: In fact, we have been working on a pretty large client patch. It’s very chonky… that addresses a lot of things, and this right here (shows document) is actually, it’s 13 pages but it’s not even done yet. But it is just an early preview of kind of what we’re putting together. And I have it here, we probably won’t go into detail of it all, but we will have it posted obviously when the patch does actually hit.

One major issue among Hardcore players is the chance of their hero dying randomly through various circumstances. While it’s still unclear as to why this happens, Shely confirmed that Blizzard is looking into it and that they will be fixing the issue should the root cause be discovered.

Shely: So there are a few cases here. We’ve seen cases where a Hardcore hero died during teleport, which is a bug, we’ve seen potentially some bugs with situations where you should be immune, but you might have died, we’re investigating both of those cases. And once we have identified the root cause, we’ll tackle fixes for that.

Shely also revealed that the Scroll of Escape, a Hardcore-only consumable which teleports players to a safe zone, will also be made to teleport players in the event that they disconnect from the game.

Shely: So basically the way that this will work is if you get disconnected, and this is essentially for any reason… now I want to clarify that the disconnect case is a very complex situation in terms of determining what’s happening. So it’s not [a] perfect situation. But what should happen is that when we detect that you’ve disconnect[ed], if you have one of these Scrolls of Escape in your inventory, it will trigger, even though you weren’t there to trigger it. It will consume the scroll, so they can’t just do this as much as you want, and it will teleport you to safety. So when you log back in after the lightning has subsided, you should be in town.

On the topic of Nightmare Dungeons, Shely stated that players will be able to teleport to them via Sigils in the future, allowing you to chain multiple Nightmare Dungeon runs in a row without having to travel between them.

Shely: Nightmare Dungeons are explicitly set up to be highly replayable, through the sigil affixes, through the variety of Nightmare Dungeons that are available, to the changes to monsters that occur inside them, and so we want them to be a great place to farm, including if you want to farm dungeons over and over. If you want to loop dungeons, Nightmare Dungeons are set up to be good at doing that. So what we’re going to do there is we’re going to increase the amount of XP that you get from Nightmare Dungeons, and our goal with this is to make Nightmare Dungeons more efficient to do than side dungeons, ’cause they’re designed to be more replayable.

Fergusson: And does that take into account, like, Nightmare Dungeons have essentially a travel time to get to them?

Shely: Right, so this is a great point. When you think about efficiency, when you think about XP per hour or XP per minute, and we actually have telemetry on it so we can see what it looks like, you can’t just look at the XP that you’re getting from the Nightmare Dungeon, because you have to spend some of the time traveling to that Nightmare Dungeon. In fact, Nightmare Dungeons are a variety of distances away from the nearest waypoint or teleport, so it actually varies depending on which Nightmare Dungeon you’re going to. And so that can also have the effect if you’re thinking about the efficiency aspect of it, of XP per hour or loot per hour, of sort of making it hard to justify choosing a Nightmare Dungeon that’s far from a teleport point. So the second thing that we’re going to do here is we’re going to modify the way that Sigils work so that they teleport you to Nightmare Dungeons on use.

Fergusson: So [do] they teleport you or do they create a place to a waypoint to the dungeon?

Shely: They will create a waypoint that allows you to teleport. But yes, you’ll be able to teleport to, that’s an important distinction, but the effect is that you’ll be able to teleport to your Nightmare Dungeons, and you’ll be able to loop from the end of a Nightmare Dungeon into your next Nightmare Dungeon, if you want to loop them again, you may have to leave the Nightmare Dungeon using an interface, but you’ll be able to go from Nightmare Dungeon to Nightmare Dungeon without traveling between them. And that allows us to calculate the XP buff to make sure that those are the most efficient to do because we’re removing the travel time aspect of it.

If you’re interested, you can watch the full livestream VOD on YouTube here.

Diablo 4 has been out for a week and a half at this point, with many players still going through the game’s campaign. You can read our review of Diablo 4 here.

theHunter: Call of the Wild Emerald Coast Australia Review – Crocodile Dundees

The thrill of the hunt is back with Emerald Coast, the new reserve expansion for theHunter: Call of the Wild. This time, you will pack your gear and travel to the always remarkable sights of Australia, a country of beautiful plains and iconic animal species. From the outback to tropical rainforests, the flora is comprised of natural locations suitable for many exciting games of hide and seek, as you find and hunt your prey in a game of deadly patience.

The Waiting Game on the Outback

As it happens with other theHunter reserve updates, Emerald Coast eases us into this new territory with a story showing us the ropes. This time, it’s a lighthearted narrative at its core, mostly focused on long-lasting friendships and a few missions that may be little more than fetch quests, but the camaraderie between the two protagonists, Sophia and Robert, is enjoyable to listen to, even if sometimes bordering on awkwardness.

But dig a bit deeper and it’s hard to miss the care about ethical hunting, preservation of the most iconic species, and the concern over species that are destructive to nature and must be controlled for the good of the ecosystem. The story doesn’t dive into unnecessary controversy and tries to present a credible, realistic, and understandable point of view even for those who aren’t fans of the hunt.

theHunter: Call of the Wild Emerald Coast Australia Review

The main story isn’t going to keep you busy for long, but the side-missions will, with a penchant for hunting quests, but also throwing in other types of tasks for good measure. For example, visiting the landmarks of this new region is going to take you a while, as the terrain is expansive and thankfully your ATV is going to be one of your best friends. Alongside the fast travel feature, I might add, as unlocking outpost after outpost makes exploration a lot swifter and enjoyable.

I found this region to be a pleasant mix of biomes that made for some interesting hunting spots. With arid landscapes, tropical and subtropical areas, and a diverse representation of plains and elevations, there was this patent Australian touch that felt great, including a little story mission with a scripted event that couldn’t be any more specific to the land, but I won’t spoil it here. Some areas may not be fertile in animals to hunt, namely the flat and dry ones, and in other places the vegetation could be too concentrated as to provide ample opportunity for enjoyable searching, but ultimately, it’s up to the player to patiently roam the land and find the best spots and need zones to succeed in the harvest.

This is indeed a game of patience and precision, and the Emerald Coast changes nothing about the core gameplay of theHunter. It’s still about using your binoculars, getting closer without alerting the animals, and holding your breath to take the shot. The thrill of firing your rifle and asking your dog to look around for blood patches, following the trail that may lead us to our objective is here, rewarding as ever. Countless mechanics are available to camouflage your presence, including sprays to hide your scent, as the game even takes wind direction into account, but this is a feature that fans are already familiar with.

Kangaroos and Crocodiles

theHunter: Call of the Wild Emerald Coast Australia Review

Australia has its fair share of iconic fauna, and with this expansion you get 14 animal species, including the Eastern Gray Kangaroo and the Saltwater Crocodile. Learn their habitats perfectly and find their tracks, otherwise most of your time will be spent hunting other animals such as feral pigs or various types of deer. The update also brings the new Zagan Varminter .22-250 bolt-action rifle, a weapon of great accuracy that will truly come to its potential when you add a scope to it.

The number of new animals isn’t incommensurably large, but offers enough new challenges to keep you busy for a while, and your first sight of the saltwater crocodile is bound to give you some chills, a feeling that unfortunately lessens in the eventuality of it getting stuck on trees and going on an endless back and forth until it is finally free of that unnatural trap.

Emerald Coast Australia is a good update for the acclaimed hunting game, even if it doesn’t add anything new to the series or changes any fundamentals. The new region has some breathtaking near-realistic locations encouraging you to take a break and enjoy, almost as if the game doubles as a sightseeing simulator, and the missions should keep you entertained for enough hours to justify a purchase.

Score: 7.5/10

Pros:

  • Vast terrain with a few different biomes
  • Over a dozen new animals, some of them iconic
  • Lighthearted story with a good heart

Cons:

  • Side-missions aren’t very imaginative
  • Some bugs in animal behavior

Warframe Next Update “The Seven Crimes of Kullervo” Release Date Announced for June 21

The Warframe next update “The Seven Crimes of Kullervo” release date has just been announced, with the update slated for a June 21 release. The Seven Crimes of Kullervo, which was announced last month, will expand upon The Duviri Paradox with players learning more about the crimson renegade Kullervo’s seven crimes as implied by the update’s title.

Here’s what players can expect to arrive during the update:

Discover the Secrets of the Executioner’s Infinite Prison on June 21

A fortified dungeon built to imprison those who defy the tyranny of Dominus Thrax has reappeared. The lost floating island of Duviri once shrouded by its fractured, void-wrecked landscape emerges riddled with twisted secrets and ravaged by betrayal. In a new story-driven Quest that expands the world of The Duviri ParadoxThe Seven Crimes of Kullervo welcomes Warframe players to return to its fractured frontier and unravel the mystery behind the exile of the battle-scarred melee warrior and 53rd unique Warframe, Kullervo.

Players visiting Duviri during Sorrow, Anger, or Fear Spirals will see Kullervo’s Hold and can visit the island as a side objective, or experience it as an objective in their Story bounties. Players looking for immediate access to Kullervo’s Hold will find a special node in the Duviri Star Chart to tackle the dungeon regardless of Duviri’s current mood Spiral. In Kullervo’s Hold, players will confront the melee-based Warframe as their Drifter in a mini boss fight and face off against his powerful Abilities. Players emerging victorious will collect a dropped Resource that can be exchanged at Acrithis for Kullervo’s Blueprints for crafting. Players can also instantly unlock the imprisoned warrior from the in-game Warframe market for Platinum.

Take on New Challenges and Engage in Enhanced Duviri Gameplay Systems

In typical Warframe fashion, The Seven Crimes of Kullervo update brings so much more than just a new Quest and Warframe. The update will also introduce new Duviri Undercroft tilesets, offering new combat challenges against familiar enemies, including a surprise boss visitor to the Exterminate Game Modes. With 15 new powerful Decrees released with the update, players will have increased variation in their runs through Duviri, including Corrupted Boons such as King’s Collateral, which does not allow further revives, but adds a +200% chance of obtaining rare decrees. Previously unlocked Undercroft portals across Duviri will also become accessible to players once they have acquired seven Decrees. Upon entering the Undercroft, players will be offered more difficult challenges with greater rewards. Completing these Static Undercroft Portals will earn a player guaranteed Duviri Arcanes. Players returning to Duviri for the update will also be able to earn free resources with a new Gardening system, featuring six plants to harvest different resources from.

Personalize an Arsenal with Deluxe Cosmetics and Collections

It wouldn’t be a true Warframe update without a slew of new cosmetic enhancements for Fashion Framer’s to go wild over. Move at turbo speed with the new Gauss Kresnik Collection featuring the Gauss Kresnik Skin, a flaming new Bolide Syandana and the Hermes’ weapon inspired Acceltra Deluxe to complete the full look. Take Fashion Framing further with the Orizu Suit Collection and match a fit with the fine and sharp lines of the origami-inspired Orizu Collection for a player’s Operator or Drifter. Or even give a noble Kaithe an upgraded look with the new Aethon Kaithe Bundle that includes a Helmet, Saddle, and Tail, or the Steed’s Resolve Pack which includes a Coronet Ephemera for a look that changes based on the moods of Duviri. A new round of TennoGen cosmetics will also be available, featuring fan-favorite community created enhancements including weapons kins, new armor designs and a landing craft skin.

In the spirit of Warframe’s 10-year anniversary celebration, Digital Extremes is hosting a Dex Fashion Frame Captura contest. Warframe players can show their best Dex Fashion Frame by submitting a Captura image, in-game screenshot, or illustration for a chance to win a Prime Access Bundle of their choice along with 1,000 Platinum. An additional 10 runner ups will be selected to receive 750 Platinum, along with an emblem, sigil, and glyph. Submissions are open on the forum through July 5th at 1 p.m. ET.

The Seven Crimes of Kullervo will be available on all platforms during its June 21 launch. Once it’s out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

The Callisto Protocl DLC “Final Transmission” Announced as the “Final Chapter;” Releases Next Week

Striking Distance Studios has announced a DLC for The Callisto Protocol called “Final Transmission,” with the expansion set up to be the game’s “final chapter.” The Callisto Protocol DLC is slated for a June 27 release on PlayStation with other platforms to follow on June 29.

A trailer for Final Transmission was also uploaded via the game’s official Twitter account:

Given that the tweet mentions Final Transmission as The Callisto Protocol’s “heart-pounding final chapter,” it’s possible that this will be the one and only story DLC for the game. It’s also unclear whether or not we’re slated for any more story content following this, which may be a disappointment to those who enjoyed the game’s narrative elements.

The Callisto Protocol was released last December 2, 2022, with the game failing to meet sales expectations that would have eased the game’s massive $162 million budget. The game was also plagued with performance issues on release, which affected its initial reception among players. You can read about our review of The Callisto Protocol here, where we gave the game a 7/10 score.

Redfall Developer Arkane Studios Won’t Be Shut Down, Confirms Microsoft

Redfall Developer Arkane Studios won’t be shuttered down despite the lackluster release of the vampire FPS title, according to Microsoft. The studio will continue to provide updates for the game, with Xbox Game Studios offering support during the process.

In an interview with Axios, Xbox Game Studios chief Matt Booty discussed what went wrong with Redfall and what the studio plans to do moving forward. Booty claims that the company could have done more for Arkane Studios, particularly for the Arkane Austin office, which spearheaded the project. “I feel accountable that we could have done a better job with Arkane,” he stated.

Booty also mentioned that despite the disappointing launch of Redfall, the game is seeing “good play” via the Xbox Game Pass, implying that there is at least interest in the title, albeit through the subscription service. “It was a miss, but how much of a miss? I want to support them to be able to keep working to deliver the game they had in mind,” Booty said.

Finally, Booty confirmed that the Arkane Studio will continue to operate despite the whole Redfall fiasco, with the devs still working to bring updates to the game. “That is the plan right now. They are hard at work on updates and continued content for Redfall.”

Redfall isn’t exactly Arkane Studio’s most critically acclaimed work, but the studio is at least continuing to work on it. With enough updates, the game may become polished enough to please both the devs and the fans, though only time will tell when that will happen.

If you haven’t played Redfall, go read our review where we state, ” Redfall is far from being Arkane Studio’s finest hour; on the contrary, it’s a misfire that may tarnish the reputation of one of the most creative and exciting development outfits.”

What We Want to See From Titanfall 3 If It Ever Gets Made

With this week’s big news that Respawn Entertainment had been working 10 months on Titanfall 3 before scrapping it in favor of battle royale hit Apex Legends, this got us thinking: what would we want to see in the third installment if we do see one get announced/released? And in case you’re wondering, we tackle both single-player and the multiplayer given the game excelled in both.

Here’s What We Want to See in Titanfall 3:

A Continuation of the Single-Player – This ones a no brainier, but I do I feel it should still be said, especially given that sometimes studios make the oddest of decisions. Not only would we like to see the single player make a return, but we’d also like to see it continue where the last left off, and with both Jack Cooper and BT-7274 being the main stars again.

Many regard Titanfall 2’s campaign as one of the best ever in a shooter, and that’s understandable given how great the set pieces were designed, as well as the writing which was topnotch. That in parts is thanks to the bond we saw formed between Jack and BT, and we can’t picture the Titanfall series moving on from that.

Lots, and Lots of Customization – I suppose this would open the game up to more monetization, but can you imagine if Titanfall had an in-depth customization that allowed you to basically customize every piece of gear on both the pilot and Titans?

I like the idea of being about the make the Titan feel like our own, rather than some mass produced machinery, and I like to think that fits very line with the game itself. Let us have different cosmetics that we can swap parts with other ones. Let’s have helmets, chest, arms, legs, and other pieces we can customize.

The Pilot’s Gauntlet 2.0 – Do we even need to explain why? Maybe we’re just a little diabolical with this one.

Titanfall 2

Ranked Play, and No Skilled Based Matchmaking – If Titanfall 3 was to get released today, it will most likely have Ranked Play and some form of eSports integration. While that’s all fine and good, what we hope it won’t get is skill-based matchmaking or otherwise known as SBMM. Given what we’ve seen from Apex Legends, it shouldn’t be as bad.

MORE of Everything – As someone who has played Titanfall 2’s multiplayer for countless of hours, the one thing that kept popping into my head countless times is: I want more of everything. More weapons, more maps, more Titans, more skills, etc. That’s probably one of the loudest criticisms lobbed at the game, and that’s we should have gotten more. Other games get more content with expansions or with timed content drops in each season, which we’ll be getting into next…

Seasonal Content or Properly Done Live Service– Yes, yes, I know! Live service is the work of the devil and should be banished from every game in existence. But if done right (such as for games like Apex Legends, Overwatch, etc.), it will prolong a game’s lifespan. Imagine if TF3 multiplayer had seasonal content which include a new Titan, new ability, weapons and more? Exciting, right? And it would incentivize players from going back to the game.

That’s about it. While there’s a lot of little gameplay nuances that we might want changed based on Titanfall 2’s gameplay mechanics (such as the Titan rodeo changing, etc.), the stuff mentioned above is what we want to see the most. Do you agree? What do you want to see if ever Titanfall 3 gets announced?

The 10 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Digital Deluxe Edition Suits Exclusive to Buyers and Can’t Be Unlocked In-Game

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is currently available for pre-order, and like many AAA games these days, the game comes with a Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes a whopping ten suits that players can use. According to Insomniac Games, however, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2: Digital Deluxe Edition suits can only be unlocked by purchasing said version of the game, with no way to unlock the suits through regular gameplay.

The developer confirmed this exclusivity in a reply to a tweet asking about the suits:

For reference, here’s what the suits look like:

The ten suits include five for Peter Parker and five for Miles Morales. Aside from the suits, you also get additional Photo Mode items as well as two extra skill points. You even get the pre-order bonuses in the Web Grabber gadget, three more skill points, and an early unlock for two suits, one for Peter and one for Miles. It’s worth mentioning that these are early unlocks, which implies that you’re able to get the pre-order bonus suits in-game, unlike the ten suits that come with the Digital Deluxe Edition.

With these many cosmetics locked behind a more expensive version of the game, it’s no surprise that this has been met with disappointment from players. Only time will tell if Insomniac Games will add a way to get the suits without purchasing a Deluxe Edition upgrade, but you probably shouldn’t get your hopes up.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 releases this October 20 on PS5.

New Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Rewards and Map This Week June 16

It’s a new Friday, and that means Destiny’s Trials of Osiris weekly PvP mode has been refreshed with a new map and rewards. If you’re wondering what the new map or Adept reward is, look no further: MP1st’s new Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris rewards and map this week June 16, 2023 post lists down all that information below.

New Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Rewards This Week June 16, 2023:

Trials of Osiris Map

Wormhaven

Rewards

  • Reputation Rank 4: Upgrade Module (2)
  • Reputation Rank 7: Enhancement Prism (3)
  • Reputation Rank 10: Trials Weapon (Changes for each rank reset)
  • Reputation Rank 13: Upgrade Module (2)
  • Reputation Rank 16: Trials Weapon (Changes for each rank reset)
  • Flawless Reward: The Messenger (Adept)

Reputation System, Trials Engrams, and Adept Farming

Win individual rounds within each match to gain Trials reputation. The amount of reputation you gain increases with each round you’ve won on your card. Earn enough reputation, and you’ll be able to claim a Trials Engram from Saint-14! This engram can be focused into any currently available trials loot you have previously obtained, or it can be taken to Master Rahool for a random Trials drop. Your reputation increases after every match completion, based on the number of round-wins on your card, regardless of the result of that match itself (win or lose, 0-5 or 5-4).

Once you have gone Flawless, keep playing! Every win you achieve while at the 7-win level, even if you lose your Flawless, has a chance to drop bonus Trials Engrams, adept weapons, prisms, and even Ascendant Shards. There is no penalty for losing once you’ve made it to the Lighthouse!

When you’re done, you can cash in your 7-win passage for one additional adept drop, granted you have gone Flawless that week. This resets your card so you can start anew.

Passages

Name Perk Cost
Passage of Ferocity Your third match win grants a bonus win. 15 Legendary Shards
Passage of Mercy Forgives one loss per run. Forgives a second loss if you have not yet been flawless this week. 15 Legendary Shards
Passage of Wealth Increased reputation from match wins on a ticket. 25 Legendary Shards
Passage of Confidence Grants bonus rewards from Flawless Chest. 50 Legendary Shards

    • Fixed a graphical issue that could cause the player to briefly appear while teleporting.

  • Fixed an issue that prevented starship distress beacons from animating correctly.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause Multi-Tools belonging to other players to become attached to NPCs.
  • Fixed an issue that could result in players becoming permanently stuck to the chair in the Guild Envoy’s area of the Space Station.

ARC Raiders PC Closed Alpha Begins June 29; New Trailer Released

After the initial announcement last month, Embark Studios has announced that ARC Raiders‘ PC closed alpha will begin on June 29 and run till July 3, with signups for the alpha still open. A new trailer composed out of a mix of cinematics and gameplay has also been released to reflect the game’s new PvPvE direction.

Watch the ARC Raiders closed alpha trailer below:

Embark Studios’ ARC Raiders officially transitioned into a PvPvE shooter last month, though the developer chose to not showcase any new gameplay footage of the current state of the game. The game’s story was described then as follows:

People have fled to the underground colony of Speranza, seeking supplies to survive, and shelter from the machines. Demand for resources is at an all-time high. But getting those resources is a risky job, and it isn’t for everyone. But it is a job for you. That’s why you’ve enlisted as a Raider, scavenging for vital supplies that are scattered across the 5landscape. Everything from leftovers from yesterday’s run-in with ARC to the unlikely remains of a pinball machine. Out there, the stakes are high, and you will have to fight for your loot. Lethal ARC machines roam the surface. And there are no rules in Calabretta, so beware of other Raiders. With the traders in Speranza, trust is hard-earned and easily lost. You need to earn your keep. So don’t come back from a quest empty-handed. When you see another Raider chased by a swarm of ARC drones, do you go in for the kill? Do you lend a helping hand? Or do you hold back and feast on the valuable remains?

Embark Studios also announced a PC closed alpha test for the game that would be held under an NDA. That closed alpha test can be signed up for here, and will run from June 29 till July 3 CET. A release date for the game has still not been announced, though it is slated for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PSN Page Now Up, Confirms New Explorable Location

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s PSN Page confirms that the game will include a new location in New York as one of the game’s explorable areas. The description cites Coney Island, the city’s amusement park and beach hub, among other areas in Brooklyn and Queens.

Here’s the full description via the game’s PlayStation Store page:

Spider-Men Peter Parker and Miles Morales face the ultimate test of strength inside and outside the mask as they fight to save the city, each other and the ones they love, from the monstrous Venom and the dangerous new symbiote threat.

Explore an expansive Marvel’s New York with faster web-swinging and the all-new Web Wings, quickly switching between Peter and Miles to experience different stories, epic new abilities and high-tech gear.

Wield Peter’s symbiote abilities and Miles’ explosive bio-electric powers in battle against new and iconic Marvel Super Villains – including an original take on a symbiote-infused Venom, the ruthless Kraven the Hunter, the volatile Lizard, and more from the Marvel Rogues’ Gallery.

Feel the true power of Spider-Man in your hands!
– Haptic feedback: experience the full force of Peter’s and Miles’ new abilities at your fingertips with responsive vibrations.
– Adaptive triggers: master acrobatic moves, execute thrilling combos, and discover the breathtaking excitement of web-swinging traversal.

Live the Super-Hero life!
– Tempest 3D AudioTech: pinpoint the sounds of webs, bio-electric powers, bustling traffic, responsive New Yorkers, and dangerous enemy attacks.*
– Stunning visuals: explore beautifully vibrant new environments and locations, including Brooklyn and Queens, Coney Island, and more.

*3D Audio via built-in TV speakers or analogue/USB stereo headphones.

Coney Island is a popular spot in New York, and it actually appeared in the 2017 MCU film, “Spider-Man: Homecoming,” with Peter Parker taking on the villain Vulture as part of the film’s climax. It’s unclear as to what players will be able to do at Coney Island, though confirmation of the district as an explorable zone means more places to explore in the sequel.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches this October 20 on the PS5.

Final Fantasy 16 Discs Being Sold Ahead of Street Date, Be Wary of Spoilers

While Final Fantasy 16 (Final Fantasy XVI) won’t officially be released until June 22, it seems that some players have managed to grab a copy ahead of the planned launch date. Images of Final Fantasy 16 discs have been uploaded to social media, and that means the possibility of early spoilers.

An image of a Final Fantasy 16 physical copy was posted on a ResetEra thread about the game:

final fantasy 16 physical copy 1

The cover art is one we’ve already seen before, featuring the protagonist, Clive, in the background as his younger brother Joshua is surrounded by flames in front of him. The Eikon Ifrit can also be seen behind Clive.

Another image uploaded by CivilianGosu on Reddit reveals the contents of the case:

We see the disc for Final Fantasy 16, of course, as well as the uploader’s dog staring from behind the case, but what’s really worth mentioning is the Final Fantasy 14 leaflet on the left. While we don’t get to see the text in full, it likely reads “Download the free trial from the PlayStation Store.” This ad placement may seem odd to some, but FF16 and FF14 were both created by the same team, Creative Business Unit III. Key figures in the FF14 dev team were also part of FF16’s development, including Naoki Yoshida as Producer, Koji Fox as Localization Director, and Masayoshi Soken as the game’s composer.

As some players are likely playing through FF16’s story right now, spoilers featuring gameplay footage and story elements may crop up on social media in the coming days, so keep that in mind as you scroll through your feed. Final Fantasy 16 launches this June 22 on the PS5.
