New Killer: The Skull Merchant

Perks:

Game Afoot: While you are chasing the Obsession, this perk activates. Damaging Generators and destroying Breakable Walls and Pallets gives you a 5% Haste Status for 8/9/10 seconds. Whenever you hit the Survivor with the total most time in chase with a Basic Attack, they become the Obsession. The Killer can only be Obsessed with one Survivor at a time.

THWACK!: After hooking a Survivor, this perk activates. The next Breakable Wall or Pallet you break will make Survivors within 28/30/32 meters scream and reveal their aura for 4 seconds. (Changed from PTB: removed activation timer and distance is now a tiered value)

Leverage: Each time you hook a Survivor, gain 1 token, up to 10. When you Hook a Survivor, this perk activates for 30 seconds. For each token, reduces the speed at which Survivors heal by 3/4/5%.

New Survivor: Thalita Lyra

Perks:

Cut Loose: After performing a rushed vault in a chase, this Perk activates. While active, your rushed vaults are silent for up to 4/5/6 seconds, and successfully performing a rushed vault during that time resets the timer. This perk goes on cool-down for 45 seconds.

Friendly Competition:Whenever you finish Repairing a Generator with at least one other Survivor, this Perk activates. You and other Survivors who finished Repairing the Generator with you get 5% increased Repair progress speed for 45/60/75 seconds. Survivors can only have one instance of this Perk’s ability active at once.

Teamwork: Power of Two: Whenever you finish healing another Survivor, you both move 5% faster as long as you stay within 12 meters of the Survivor you healed or until one of you loses a Health State. Teamwork: Power of Two can only trigger once every 180/160/140 seconds. Survivors can only be affected by one Teamwork: Power of Two effect at a time.

New Survivor: Renato Lyra

Perks:

Background Player: When the Killer picks up another Survivor, Background Player activates for 10 seconds. When you start running, you break into a sprint at 150% of your normal Running Movement speed for 4 seconds and become exhausted. This perk cannot be used while exhausted. This perk causes exhaustion for 60/50/40 seconds. (Changed from PTB; now activates on pickup for 10 seconds, triggers on starting to run, increases move speed for 4 seconds)

Blood Rush: This Perk activates once you are one Hook away from instant death. While healthy, running, and suffering from Exhaustion, press the Active Ability Button 1 to lose a Health State and recover from Exhaustion instantly and gain the Broken status effect for 28/24/20 seconds. You are automatically healed from injured to healthy after 28/24/20 seconds. Being put into the Dying State will cancel the healing effect. Activating Blood Rush will disable it for the remainder of the trial. Exhaustion prevents Survivors from activating other Perks that cause Exhaustion. Broken prevents Survivors from being healed.

Teamwork: Collective Stealth:Whenever another Survivor finishes healing you, you both leave no scratch marks as long as you stay within 12 meters of the Survivor who healed you or until one of you loses a health state. Teamwork: Collective Stealth can only trigger once every 180/160/140 seconds. Survivors can only be affected by one Teamwork: Collective Stealth effect at a time.

Map Changes: Shelter Woods

A makeshift command center was erected here, its rigid walls and sharp angles standing in stark contrast to the twisted wood and soil. For those who chance upon this crude structure, the realization that this complex belongs to an apex hunter—a hunter whose prey is human—usually comes too late.

Visual Update: Red Forest

We’ve taken a lengthy visit to the Red Forest Realm, which includes the Maps Temple of Purgation and Mother’s Dwelling. How about a nice, long walk in the woods?

Visual Update: Haddie Kaur

  • Visual improvement to eyes and hair.
  • Hair shape and color adjusted to be more reflective of her lore.
  • Added blood to Prestige hair.
  • Visual update to her uncommon skin makeup.
  • Icons and portrait updated.

Quality of Life

Map Repeat Prevention

This update improves the Map selection process. Now, the possibility that players in a Trial will see the same Map as their previous Trial has been reduced to near-zero. It’s also unlikely that they will be sent to a recently visited Map, though the likelihood will be a little higher than near-zero.This will not impact the efficacy of Map Offerings, nor will it affect Custom Games.

Perk Changes

  • Any Means Necessary: Removed cooldown.
  • Eruption: After kicking a Generator, its aura is highlighted in yellow. Whenever a Survivor enters the Dying State, every affected Generator explodes, losing 10% worth of progress and starts to regress. Any Survivor repairing a Generator when it explodes will scream and reveal their aura 8/10/12 seconds. Eruption has a cooldown of 30 seconds. (Changed from PTB: now 10% of total progress, not current progress)

Loading Timeout

After analyzing the data on our side, we have established a set of expected loading times for each of the steps while loading into a Trial. As a result, if any player crashes or hangs while loading, we will now be able to return everyone to the Tally much earlier.

Reporting Players

We know that sometimes you may face unsportsmanlike behaviour even before a match. We have now added the option to report a player from the online lobby.

Miscellaneous Updates

Triggered scream audio

We have done a consistency pass on the following perks and addons which trigger audio feedback when the position of a Survivor is revealed:

Deathbound, Dragon’s Grip, Eruption, Hex: Face the Darkness, Infectious Fright, Iron Maiden, Make Your Choice, Iridescent Family Crest, Incensed Ointment, Healing Poultice, Greasy Black Lens.

When a Survivor screams to reveal their location, the scream will be a 3d scream (instead of a 2d/mapwide scream), with a 19m max range, and a loud noise sfx is triggered.

Sledgehammer Games has released Call of Duty: Vanguard update 1.25 (PS5 version 1.025), which is an unannounced update, so don’t expect anything major from it. Read on for what’s new in the COD Vanguard March 7 patch notes.

Call of Duty Vanguard Update 1.25 Patch Notes | COD Vanguard March 7 Patch Notes:

As expected, Sledgehammer has not acknowledged today’s patch, which isn’t surprising, as Treyarch released an update for Black Ops Cold War recently and also didn’t mention what was in it.

We’re on the lookout for any changes from this patch, but chances are, this is a security update that won’t feature any player-facing changes. If you see anything that got tweaked, fixed or just different after the patch, leave a comment below and let us know.

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem Console Edition Releasing on Mar. 15 for PlayStation & Xbox, Along With Act 4 “Endgame”

Wolcen Studio has announced that its dungeon crawler RPG Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem’s console edition will be releasing on March 15, 2023, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One consoles. Along with the console launch, the concluding Act 4 “Endgame” of the story will also be released on the same day, included at launch with the console versions and pushed out as a free update for PC players.

Watch the Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem console announcement trailer below:

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is a hack’n’slash dungeon crawler RPG released in 2020 by Wolcen Studio. From the game’s Steam page:

You are one of the three survivors of the slaughter of Castagath. Rescued by Grand Inquisitor Heimlock, you were drafted into the Republic’s Army of the Purifiers at a very young age to be trained in the military academy and become perfect soldiers against the supernatural. You also had the chance to benefit from Heimlock’s occasional advice and training, which led you and your childhood friends, Valeria and Edric, to be called the “Children of Heimlock”.
Recently, the Brotherhood of Dawn has infiltrated the Crimson Keep, a mysterious republican fortress lost among the northern deserts known as the Red wastes. While the purpose of the attack was unclear, the republican Senate voted a retaliation act against all known locations of the Brotherhood.

Led by Grand Inquisitor Heimlock himself, troops are soon deployed on the Coast of wrecks, near the city state of Stormfall, to terminate a camp of Brothers. You are, with your two childhood friends, part of operation Dawnbane, under the supervision of Justicar Maëlys.

Key features:

Free character development
Wield a great variety of weapons and find your own playstyle thanks to their unique stances and combos. In Wolcen, there is no class, only your weapons set the rules for your skills types.

Three types of resources
Rage and Willpower interact with each other, using the Resource Opposition System. Stamina allows you to use a dodge-roll to avoid danger or travel faster.

Item diversity
Gear up according to your offensive and defensive choices with common, magical, rare and legendary items. Break the rules and unlock new possibilities with Unique items and rare affixes.

Rotative Passive Skill Tree
Make your own path throughout the 21 sub-class sections available in the Gate of Fates to customize your passives and make them fit to your play style.

Skill customization
Level up your skills with your character or alternative resources to gain modifier points and create your own unique combination of skill modifiers. Change your damage type, add new functionalities, grant buffs or debuffs, change the skill’s mechanics completely. The options are limitless.

Strategic fights
Wolcen’s creatures have complex patterns including deadly skills. Pay attention to various markers and to animation anticipation to avoid lethal attacks using your dodge roll ability.

Aspects of Apocalypse
All characters can shapeshift into one of the 4 Celestial incarnations available, each of them offering 4 different skills, and one devastating ultimate.

Endless replayability
Improve your gear by looting or crafting, gather resources to unlock rare missions, face advanced challenges for special rewards, experiment new builds, become the greatest achiever. Whether you like to play solo or with friends, there is always something to do.

A taste for beauty
Using the Cryengine technology makes Wolcen an immersive and beautiful game with highly detailed armors and weapons. In addition, 8 hours of epic orchestral music will accompany you during your journey.

Unleash your fashion sense
Customize your appearance by switching the visuals of your armors and weapons. Loot more than 100 different dyes and tune up your armor to have your very own unique style. The asymmetric armor system will also allow you to change your appearance for left and right shoulder and glove.

Difficulty modes
Choose how you want to make the campaign with 2 different difficulty settings: the Story mode and the Normal mode. The endgame is shaped to allow a progressive increase in difficulty.

Regular updates and seasonal events
We’re committed to making Wolcen a long-term game with regular updates and additions, including features, Acts, gameplay content & Quality of Life.

Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem’s story will be concluded in the upcoming fourth chapter, titled Act 4 – “Endgame.” The fourth act will be included with the PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game at launch, and will be pushed out as a free update for PC players on Steam and Epic Games Store. If you’re looking to pick the game up now, the Steam version has been discounted by 75% until March 13.

Redfall PC Crossplay Confirmed Between Steam, Epic, Xbox & PC Game Pass

Ahead of the game’s May 2 release date, Arkane Studios Austin has confirmed unrestricted game store crossplay for Redfall, meaning that PC players will be able to play with owners of the game on different PC stores including Steam, Epic Games Store, and Xbox’s PC Game Pass service as well as with the game’s player base on Xbox Series X|S consoles.

The availability of crossplay across PC game stores and services has recently been a heightened concern with new and upcoming games. Most recently, Team Ninja’s Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty locked PC players on Steam out of the Xbox-PC Game Pass network, which meant that players who owned the game on Steam had multiplayer access to neither the Xbox nor the PC Game Pass player bases.

As subsidiaries of the Microsoft-owned ZeniMax Media, Arkane Studios Austin and Bethesda Softworks have taken care to avoid such a restriction with Redfall. All players on PC regardless of what game store they use will be able to play with each other, as well as the game’s player base on Xbox Series X|S. With Xbox Play Anywhere, progress is automatically carried between the PC Xbox Store/Game Pass-hosted version and the Xbox Series X|S version of the game. As such, players who own the game on the Xbox Store or through Game Pass will be able to seamlessly continue their experience on either platform should they switch at any point.

Redfall creeps out on PC and Xbox Series X|S on May 2, 2023. For more burning questions you may have about the gameplay and other functionality, check out Arkane’s new player-aggregated FAQ post that sheds more light on different aspects of the game as it nears release.

  • The camera won’t pierce the surface automatically.
  • The piercing action can only be initiated by Zero and only when controlling a deployed Argus Camera.
  • Once the camera has pierced a surface, any living attacker can swap sides.

We intend to improve two aspects of Zero’s gadget with this change.

First, we want to make it easier to place the initial camera in more locations. Since it won’t pierce automatically, you can place it wherever you want without worry it will be vulnerable from the other side of the wall. This should increase the stealth fantasy of being able to setup your camera network undetected to utilize it when your squad is in position.

Second, we’re increasing the window of opportunity after piercing through a surface. With the manual interaction, you will decide when to pierce walls, meaning you will already be on the camera when this action happens. It will help you to gather intel or deal with some utility before it gets destroyed by defenders, something that could happen before you had access to your camera prior to this change.

WEAPON BALANCE

ONE IN THE CHAMBER

WEAPON RELOAD SYSTEM

  • If you interrupt the reload animation after the magazine is removed the weapon will remain without a magazine until the animation is completed.
  • The ammunition is available once the magazine is attached to the weapon.
  • If the weapon uses a closed bolt system, a bullet will remain in the chamber, if a reload of a partially spent magazine is interrupted. You can shoot this bullet at any time.

Right now, reloading a weapon does not carry the same weight as other actions in the game as you can cancel it at any moment without consequence. Additionally, it can be frustrating when you hear someone reloading, start to push because you think they will be vulnerable, but they aren’t.

We want to encourage thought before taking an action because you can end up in a situation where there is no place to reload your weapon safely. You’ll have to be careful when taking on several engagements in a row. We also want to discourage random pre-firing; we’ve already made changes in this direction by reducing the maximum number of magazines on every weapon. So now, wasting bullets without a reason can put you in a disadvantageous position if the enemy waits until you reload to attack.

Additionally, this will make secondary weapons more impactful, as they will be your backup plan if you need to defend yourself while reloading. Going with the secondary shotgun or the Gonne-6 may now require more thought regarding the best loadout vs. survivability.

Our goal with this change is to increase the tactical aspect of the game, encouraging players to be aware of their resources and stick closer to teammates, so they can cover each other.

COMPENSATOR

BASE STATS

  • Compensator effectiveness increased.
  • Horizontal recoil: Reduction of 35% (from 15%).

We normalized the compensator’s distribution to give players tools to customize weapon recoil, but the Compensator is not strong enough to compete with the latest changes to the other muzzle attachments. We hope that this change will make it an option again.

MUZZLE BRAKE

BASE STATS

  • Muzzle Brake effectiveness increased.
  • First shot kick: Reduction of 50% (from 45%).

The Muzzle Brake is in the same situation as the Compensator, but is more balanced on DMRs, so we will increase the bonus slightly.

QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS

TWITCH

SHOCK DRONE

  • Deceleration power: Increased to 14 (from 5.9). You will stop sooner when releasing the input.

The official patch notes aren’t live yet, but here’s an outline on what’s incoming in Y8S1 straight from Ubisoft via a press event for the new season we attended:

  • Rainbow Six Siege Immersive Reload: Interrupting the animaton will leave the player without a magazine but closed bolt weapons will have a single round for the player to use at any point during the reload.
  • Balancing update to Zero
  • Improvements to Play Section UI
  • Balancing changes on weapon attachments

Alongside these, Ubisoft is also introducing new on-boarding features to assist new players to the game!

Beginner Challenges identify an Operator’s playstyle in-game.

All Operators have one to two specialties which can be checked during the Planning Phase, in the Operators section, and in Operator Guides.

Specialty Challenges aim to help beginner players learn the various Operator specialties and what they contribute to a match.

Once the official patch notes are out, we’ll update the article to reflect it.

SMITE Update 12.43 Out for 10.2 Bonus Patch March 7

Hi-Rez has deployed SMITE update 12.43 today on all platforms to release the new 10.2 bonus patch. This should come with several bug fixes and improvements. Check out the SMITE March 7 patch notes posted down below.

SMITE Update 12.43 Patch Notes | SMITE March 7 Patch Notes:

NEW GOD SKINS

Blood Raven Horus

Exclusive | Touch of evil Chest

Techno Basher Hou Yi

Exclusive | Fit Check Chest

  •
BONUS BALANCE – LIVE MARCH 7

Items

(STARTER UPGRADE) HEROISM NERF
Kicking off this months bonus nerfs with Heroism! This new starter is ramping up in popularity and people are starting to see its power. We are making two clear nerfs to this item – first with the shield rules so it can no longer stack with itself or other shields, and we are also increasing the cooldown. These might look like heavy nerfs, but we also want to preview a buff it will be getting in the next main update. It will soo also have a Gold per 5s effect on it as well, to help it better compete with other support starters. We expect these nerfs and that buff to put the item in a much better place going forward.
  • This effect no longer stacks with itself or other shields, it will overwrite existing smaller shields, and new larger shields will overwrite it
  • Increased Cooldown from 8s to 15s
  • Note that this item will be gaining Gold per 5s in 10.3 main update (not in this bonus update)

TELKHINE’S RING NERF
Mage ADCs are up next for nerfs. They have been off to a dominant start in Year 10, but with Hunters underperforming we wanted to be careful about nerfing them too soon, and leaving Carry players with no options. Hunters have gotten some meaningful buffs, and their competition has been nerfed, so we are seeing them starting to make a comeback. Hunters wont be receiving any other direct buffs in this Bonus Update, but their competition across many other classes will be nerfed, so they should continue to rise through the back half of this update.
  • Decreased Attack Speed from 20% to 15%
  • Decreased the Basic Attack bonus damage 10+3 per level to 10+2 per level on this item’s passive effect

CYCLOPEAN RING NERF
  • Decreased Magical Power from 80 to 70
  • Decreased % Max Health Damage from 8% to 7% on the item’s passive

ASSASSIN CLASS NERF
Junglers have shown continued high performance through the last set of nerfs, so we have another set today. This first one being especially impactful. Taking away Pen from the entire class at level one, even at a small amount, is going to have a big impact on their base damage output. In addition to that we have a power nerf to their most purchases item (and its glyphs). The next main update will also include meaningful changes to the Jungle route and pathing, which is likely to have more impact on Junglers Gank potential.
  • Shifted Assassins Class Penetration Bonus from 5+0.25 per level to 2+0.4 per level

JOTUNN’S WRATH NERF
  • Decreased Physical Power from 45 to 40

(GLYPH) JOTUNN’S CUNNING NERF
  • Decreased Physical Power from 45 to 40

(GLYPH) JOTUNN’S VIGOR NERF
  • Decreased Physical Power from 45 to 40

BOOK OF THOTH NERF
Core Mages are also on deck for nerfs today. The Book + Tablet build has clearly cemented its place on the top of the charts, so both items are seeing nerfs. This should bring down the overall damage output of Mages, and the next main update will bring more changes to encourage other Mage builds.
  • Decreased Magical Power from 80 to 70
  • Decreased Bonus Magical Power from Item Mana from 7% to 6%

EVOLVED BOOK OF THOTH NERF
  • Decreased Magical Power from 80 to 70
  • Decreased Bonus Magical Power from Item Mana from 10% to 8%

TABLET OF DESTINIES NERF
  • Decreased Bonus Damage from 0.14% to 0.12% of your Max Mana as True Damage per stack.

GLADIATOR’S SHIELD NERF
  • Last but not least we have Warriors. We are continuing to focus on the items that allow them to have high damage output, even while building tanky. These changes can also apply to Guardians, especially in Non-Conquest modes. We want these classes to continue to be tanky, but its important to bring their damage output down if that’s true. Additionally we have a buff to the Tier 2 item in the Shield tree, that had stats that were especially out of sync with its cost. This specific change wont affect any full-build power, but it will smooth out the journey to the items in the tree.
  • Decreased Bonus Damage Scaling from 35% to 30% of your Protections from items and abilities as Physical

SUNDERING AXE NERF
  • Decreased % Current Health Bonus Damage (and healing) from Protection Scaling from 2% to 1% of your total Protections from Items

TOWER SHIELD BUFF (T2)
  • Increased Physical Protections from 15 to 30

Gods

MERCURY NERF
Many items are being nerfed across many of the classes/roles, so only a few gods stood above the rest as needing additional nerfs. Mercury is running circles around the rest of his class right now, so he is getting some additional nerfs to bring him in line with other Assassins.

FASTEST GOD ALIVE
  • Decreased Passive Physical Power bonus per unit traveled from 0.06% to 0.04%
    • (decreased max from 30% to 20%)
  • Fixed Merucry’s ability text to describe that the Movement Speed gained by all gods when leveling up to level 7 is intended to count toward his passive.

MADE YOU LOOK
  • Increased Cooldown from 8s to 9s
SURTR NERF
The rest of the Warrior class should be properly handled by the item buffs, but this new Warrior is still feeling a bit stronger than the rest of his competition. Emberwalk provides a huge swing in positional advantage between the Movement Speed Surtr gains and the Slow applied to enemies, we are bringing both of thes elements down slightly to make Surtr easier to evade.

EMBERWALK
  • Decreased Max Stacks on the Movement Speed buff from 4 to 3
    • (Decreased Max Movement Speed from this ability from 30% to 25%)
  • Decreased Slow from 20% to 15%
HEIMDALLR BUFF
Lastly we have another small bug fix style buff. Heimdallr had somehow had his damage buff accidentally reverted, this is being fixed so he will do the intended higher amount of damage.

PIERCING SIGHT
  • Fixed an issue where this ability had a buff unintentionally reverted
  • Should deal 90/145/200/255/310 base damage
NEW SKIN VOICE ACTORS
  • Blood Raven Horus: Sean Chiplock
  • Techno Basher Hou Yi: Daniel Walton

Sniper Elite 5 Update 1.23 Shoots Out for Season 2 This March 7 (Update)

Rebellion has pushed out Sniper Elite 5 update 1.23, and this is to usher in the Season 2 content for the game! Players can expect new content to be part of the patch alongside other changes. Read on for the Sniper Elite 5 March 7 patch notes.

Sniper Elite 5 Update 1.23 Patch Notes | Sniper Elite 5 Season 2 Patch Notes | Sniper Elite 5 March 7 Patch Notes:

Update: The full Season 2 details have been outed by Rebellion and is available below.

Sniper Elite 5 Season Pass Two has LANDED! We’re kick-starting the season with the thrilling new campaign mission ‘Rough Landing’ as well as two authentically recreated iconic weapons, the MUCH-requested Mosin-Nagant rifle and the Sjögren shotgun.

To celebrate the start of our Season Pass Two content drops and Sniper Elite 5’s launch on the Epic Store, we’ve also just released a brand new Trench Warfare Weapon Pack for free across all platforms (available to download separately), including the Axis blitzing Carl Gustav M/1945 SMG, the show-stopping Trench Gun and the small but ever deadly Double 1866 pistol.

In addition to the Epic Store Sniper Elite 5 is also available to buy on Xbox Game Pass, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 4 & 5Steam and Windows Store.

Rough Landing Mission and Weapon Pack

A female soldier stands watching over a downed plane holding a silenced pistol.

Allied airmen have been shot down over a dense forest and are now in hiding as they are being hunted by Nazi forces. It’s down to you to find and rescue the airmen and ensure that valuable intelligence is kept out of enemy hands.

Featuring thick woodland, a cramped mine shaft and a village to explore, expect a variety of challenges, including close quarters combat. You can brave the mission as either a solo sniper or you can co-op with a fellow spotter. Best of luck troopers!

New additions to your loadout

A Mosin Nagant beauty shot. The image shows the Beech and Elm Wood variants skins.

To help in your pursuit and rescue of the airmen, you will receive two new weapons: the much-anticipated return of the Mosin-Nagant rifle and introducing the Sjögren Inertia shotgun.

A famously powerful and reliable Russian rifle, the Mosin-Nagant has excellent stopping power and great stability making it an excellent sniper rifle at very long range. Meanwhile the 12G Swedish Sjögren Inertia was one of the first semi-automatic shotguns. It has a distinctive feel to its recoil, which can be controlled to deliver accurate shots at a reasonable rate of fire.

Included in this pack:

  • Rough Landing campaign mission
  • Mosin-Nagant rifle
  • Sjögren shotgun

Rough Landing is available to buy now as the first content drop of Season Pass Two (with more to follow in the coming weeks) or as an individual purchase.

Trench Warfare Weapon Pack

A soldier holds a trench gun with a bayonet attached.

This FREE Weapon Pack gives you more devastating firepower, specifically for those unpredictable close quarters combat scenarios.

The Carl Gustav M/1945, better known as the Swedish K, was adopted in 1945, taking features from various World War 2 firearms to produce a reliable and well-balanced sub-machine gun. Firing at 600 rounds-per-minute, the Gustav provides accurate single shots, whilst also offering great control in continuous fire.

A powerful pump-action shotgun, the Trench Gun first saw use by US Forces during World Wars I & II. Fed with 12-gauge shells from its 6-round tube magazine, it sacrifices range and fire rate for extreme damage in close quarters.

Finally, the Double 1866 is a double-barrel pocket pistol designed in the 19th Century as an easily concealable backup gun that can be drawn at speed. Despite only featuring a single-action trigger and producing a very low muzzle velocity, the D.1866’s unique traits make for a powerful weapon at close range.

Included in this pack:

  • Carl Gustav M/1945 SMG
  • Trench Gun shotgun
  • Double 1866 pistol

Full Patch Notes:

Troops,

As those eagle-eyed snipers among you will have already noticed, we’ve also just soft launched Beta versions of dedicated servers to Sniper Elite 5. With that in mind, we wanted to share exactly how this brand new server system will function in contrast to the dedicated servers you’re used to using in Sniper Elite 4.

We’ve now introduced Rebellion-hosted servers which will roll out in limited US and EU regions in Beta initially, with a view to fully launch in the coming months. In an effort to overcome some technical barriers new to Sniper Elite 5 and to create a smoother online Multiplayer experience, we’ve completely overhauled the previous server system.

These servers will still successfully support crossplay but will also maintain a trusted, reliable environment with sufficient bandwidth and regular map rotations. This will combat some of the challenges of peer-to-peer hosting like hosts quitting early or laggy game connection and will eventually support more Community control for online play. Access to the dedicated servers is available via the Custom Games screen only, where you’ll find a new column to help players clearly identify which servers are ours. The server names are listed below:

EU Servers:

  • Blue Viper
  • Kraken
  • Chevalier
  • Jaeger
  • Neptune

US Servers:

  • Fairburne
  • Ghost
  • Cobra
  • Detroit
  • Overlord

Whilst these servers will not allow you to adjust map selection, change server names or ban other players, we hear your requests for more community control in a server environment and are actively exploring ways we could support this in future releases. Given the Beta status of this initial release, we encourage all Community feedback as we continue to build on this system for Sniper Elite 5 and future titles.

Campaign:

  • War Factory – Player is no longer able to get stuck outside of the boiler building.
  • War Factory – Ehrlich conversation in Storage Yard area no longer contains a punctuation error when the “Phantom” is mentioned.

  • The appropriate D.L. Carbine reload animations are now observed while moving in normal and crouch position during gameplay.

New emotes have been added.

A new deep dungeon, Eureka Orthos, has been added.

Eureka Orthos is an ever-changing dungeon whose architecture is never quite the same each time players enter the facility. All players will begin at level 81, and only by fighting the enemies within will they be able to gain the strength and experience needed to explore its depths.

Players who choose to leave and return later can continue playing from where they last saved. We challenge all who enter to make it to the last floor!
* Eureka Orthos uses separate save data from Palace of the Dead and Heaven-on-High. Pomanders and aetherpool gear strength will not carry over from Palace of the Dead or Heaven-on-High, and vice versa.

View information on Palace of the Dead.

Level Requirement   Disciple of War or Magic level 81
Item Level Requirement
Party Size   Up to four players
Time Limit   60 minutes

Requirements

Delve into Myth

Disciple of War or Magic level 81
Mor Dhona (X:21.8 Y:8.1)
Koh Rabntah
Players must first complete the main scenario quest “Endwalker” and clear floor 50 of the Palace of the Dead.

Entering Eureka Orthos

Players can enter Eureka Orthos by speaking with Khatun in Mor Dhona (X:34.8 Y:19.2). When entering as a party, only the party leader can start the instance. It can also be entered with a cross-world party.
* All party members must be in the same Mor Dhona instance to enter Eureka Orthos.

Players who have cleared floor 30 of Eureka Orthos and the sidequest “Rage Extinguished” will be given the option to start from floor 1 or floor 21 when creating a new save file. When starting from floor 21, players will be set to level 90 and their inventories will be cleared of protomanders and demiclones.

Character Growth

Players will start at level 81 regardless of their current class or job level. By defeating enemies that appear in the dungeon, players will be able to gain EXP and level their characters up to 90. Your Eureka Orthos level is not directly related to your level outside of the dungeon.

Orthos Aetherpool Gear

Players will be restricted to the use of an Orthos aetherpool arm and Orthos aetherpool armor when inside Eureka Orthos. In addition to gaining levels, players must enhance these items as they progress through the dungeon.

Note that Orthos aetherpool armor will take the appearance of your current gear upon entering the instance.
* Normal gear has no effect on your character’s attributes inside Eureka Orthos.
* Aetherpool gear strength will not carry over from Palace of the Dead or Heaven-on-High.

Floor 31 and Beyond

While floors up to 30 are related to the story of Eureka Orthos, all floors after were created strictly as a challenge for players. For this reason, you cannot enter floors beyond 30 with a matched party. Furthermore, in addition to completing the sidequest “Rage Extinguished,” players must meet the following requirements to challenge these floors:

  • Start from floor 1 or floor 21 with a fixed party and clear up to floor 30.
  • Party KO count must be zero.

Save data with one or more party KOs cannot be used on floor 31 or higher.
* Please be advised that the party KO count will also increase in the event your party abandons the duty or logs out while inside the instance.

Protomanders

Players will, on occasion, obtain protomanders from treasure chests within Eureka Orthos. These items have various uses ranging from displaying the entire map of your current floor, to providing party members with beneficial effects. Up to three of each protomander can be held at any time. These items can be found in a shared inventory to be used by all party members.

Some protomanders offer different effects from the pomanders found in the Palace of the Dead and Heaven-on-High.

Demiclones

Players will, on occasion, obtain tomestones from treasure coffers in Eureka Orthos, which can be used to generate demiclones. These items can be used by all party members once acquired.

Up to three tomestones can be held at once and are kept in a shared inventory. Tomestones cannot be taken outside of Eureka Orthos. When in a matched party, they cannot be used after the completion of a set of floors.

Demiclones will follow and fight alongside the player who generated them. Each demiclone has unique strengths, so choose carefully to turn the tides in your favor.

Floor Effects

Players may trigger the following floor effects:

    • Status Effects
Some floors may inflict detrimental or beneficial statuses on players.
    • Prohibited Magic or Special Actions
Some floors may prohibit certain actions.
    • Floor Effect: Gloom
Some floors may have strengthened enemies.

Dread Beasts

Players may gain the strength of dread beasts that lurk within Eureka Orthos by defeating them.

The Accursed Hoard

While exploring Eureka Orthos, players will, on occasion, discover hidden treasure known as the Accursed Hoard. While a protomander of intuition is in effect, an icon on the navigation map will indicate the presence of a piece of the Accursed Hoard.

Upon saving progress and exiting Eureka Orthos, players can take this treasure to Valeroine in Mor Dhona (X:34.9 Y:19.1) to have it appraised and discover what lies within.

Rewards

The following rewards will be given based on the player’s level and progress.

      • If your job or class is level 90 upon entering:
Allagan tomestones and gil will be rewarded based on progress.
Floor   Reward
Floor 10   10 Allagan tomestones of poetics
20 Allagan tomestones of astronomy

An Orthos aetherpool fragment will be awarded. This item can be traded to the synthesis node in Mor Dhona (X:34.9 Y:19.0).

Obtaining and Strengthening Orthos Aetherpool Weapons

If you have strengthened your Orthos aetherpool arm and Orthos aetherpool armor to +10, in addition to clearing floor 30 of Eureka Orthos and completing the sidequest “Rage Extinguished,” you can receive an Orthos aetherpool grip, which can be exchanged for a weapon of your choosing by speaking with the synthesis node in Mor Dhona (X:34.9 Y:19.0).

Please note that by receiving an Orthos aetherpool grip, the strength of your Orthos aetherpool arm and armor used in Eureka Orthos will be reduced by 10.

    Exchanging for Orthos Aetherpool Weapons

Speak with the synthesis node in Mor Dhona (X:34.9 Y:19.0) to exchange Orthos aetherpool grips for Orthos aetherpool weapons.

    Scoring

When challenging certain floors or when the entire party is KO’d, players will receive a score based on a number of factors such as highest floor reached and number of enemies slain. Separate scores for both solo and party play will be assigned after being defeated or clearing certain floors.

High scores can be confirmed by speaking with Khatun in Mor Dhona (X:34.8 Y:19.2).

Scores from expeditions beyond floor 30 may also appear on the rankings page on the Lodestone. The rankings page will be updated daily, so we encourage you to brave the ever-changing corridors of the dungeon, and prove yourself the realm’s greatest pathfinder!

    New items have been added.

Subsequent splendorous coffers can be obtained from Quinnana in the Crystarium (X:10.4 Y:7.7).
