Rise of the Ronin Update 1.007 Patch Notes for July 24:

Update: Team Ninja has shared what got fixed in today’s patch!

Playable Demo:

Version 1.07 coincides with the release of a playable demo.

  • In the demo, players can play from the game’s opening through the beginning of Chapter 1.
The demo has no time limit and the playable portion contains the same content as the full game.
  • Players can carry over their progress from their demo when they purchase the game.

Bug Fixes:

  • Other minor bug fixes.

There’s no official patch notes released just yet, sadly, and we’re hoping that will change soon. In the meantime, here are the confirmed issues we know of so far:

  • Camera not appearing in inventory
  • Anyone else facing an equipment bug?

We’re on the lookout for other changes and fixes, and if you spot anything that got tweaked, leave a comment below and let us know. Don’t be surprised if Team Ninja releases the notes tomorrow, as that has happened before.

The First Descendant Update 1.11 Fires Out for Hotfix 1.0.4 This July 24

Nexon has pushed out The First Descendant update 1.11 (PS5 version 1.011), and this is for what the studio calls Hotfix 1.0.4! This increases module storage capacity, adjust monster respawn times and more. Read on for what’s new in the official patch notes.

The First Descendant Update 1.11 Patch Notes | The First Descendant Update 1.011 Patch Notes

Dev Version TFD Hotfix 1.0.4

Patch Details

Content Improvements

– Module storage limit has been increased from 1000 to 1500.

– Cooldown for ” Vulgus Strategic Outpost” has been reduced from 5 minutes to 1 minute.

– Spawning time between monster respawn has been increased, and the reward amount has been adjusted at the ” Vulgus Strategic Outpost”.

– Void Fragments will now drop when defeating monsters in Special Operation. There will be the most void fragment drops at the Special Operation “Neutralize Void Experiment.”

– Using “Mark for Arrest” item obtained from Special Operation will grant ten times the usual amount of gold. When “Mark for Arrest” is used from ‘consumable’ tab, it will convert to 100,000 gold, and “High-Value Mark for Arrest” will convert to 1,000,000 gold.

# Director’s Comment

With this adjustment, the reward amount at Fortress outpost has been reduced. However, to ensure that “Valby run” remains a popular hunting ground like Ambush Point and Refined Run, we have set the reward efficiency significantly higher than originally intended. We hope to provide numerous farming spots in The First Descendant, each with unique characteristics and usefulness to different Descendants. Instead of reverting Valby run to its original design intent, we have adjusted it to offer similar efficiency to other high-reward hunting grounds.

Additionally, we have shortened the cooldowns for all outposts so that players can play them more frequently without deliberately failing and no longer need to search for outposts with shorter cooldowns by moving around the map. We have also added gold rewards to Special Operations and adjusted 4 types of Void Fragments to be randomly dropped, allowing players to choose and utilize various hunting grounds.

Through issues like the Fortress Outskirts and Valby run, we are learning what kind of play style our players enjoy. The experience of sweeping through and farming monsters is of significant value in our game.

Your feedback and interest are what drive the continuous improvement of The First Descendant. We will always listen to your feedback and improve the game.

Alongside the changes, Nexon has also revealed the Week 5 update preview!

■ Week 5 Update Preview

Greetings, this is The First Descendant Director Joo Min-seok.

Along with the patch notes, we have prepared information about next week’s update. Please look forward to it!

Sea of Emerald, “Ultimate Valby”

Finally, the Magisters have completed the ultimate project for Valby. This ultimate equipment, called “Sea of Emerald,” has fulfilled Valby’s long-held desire. It is a nano suit that replicates Valby’s former body color and texture. Although covered in a thin layer, Valby feels like regaining a long-forgotten part of herself.

Ultimate Valby’s Modification Modules

– Spiral Tidal Wave: Replaces the Bubble Bullet, which was difficult to aim, with a projectile that flies straight. Spiral Tidal Wave attracts the impurities of Gluttony, making it an excellent choice for intercepting Gluttony.

– Hydro Pressure Bomb: Instead of “Plop Plop,” it leaps forward and deals damage to enemies around the landing area. The more enemies in the laundry state, the more powerful the damage, making Hydro Pressure Bomb a strong finishing blow. Instead of diving into the water, leap joyfully forward!

A New Descendant, “Luna”

The Mad Artist Luna has returned to Albion after a long wandering performance. Luna’s synthesizer gun becomes more powerful when fired in rhythm, enhancing allies’ abilities based on the performance. When Luna dances to upbeat music, allies’ skill power increases, and when dancing to relaxing music, allies’ mentality recovers and resource consumption decreases. Invite everyone to Luna’s concert. Unfortunately for Virgus, it will be their last stage, but Luna’s performance is just beginning!

Luna’s Modification Modules

– Nimble Footsteps: Enhances Luna’s mobility and amplifies the effect range of her performance, allowing for more effective ally support.

– Noise Surge: Transforms Luna from a supporter to a combat dealer. Dashes towards enemies in rhythm, dealing damage to nearby enemies. When the inspiration gauge is full, summons a stage to recover mental strength and shields. Provide enemies with a terrifying musical experience with Noise Surge!

Gluttony

The mutated Devourer-type Gluttony is a giant that indulges in Void Energy. It is equipped with systems to mine Void Energy and a cooling system to cool the heat generated during this process. To counter Gluttony, you need measures to withstand its cooling performance and the judgment to exploit its greedy temperament. Intercept Gluttony and collect new ultimate weapons and external components.

New Ultimate Weapon “Peace Mediator”

When meditation is necessary to bring peace to Ingris, the new ultimate weapon Peace Mediator is the perfect solution. This powerful hand cannon is effective even with single shots but can unleash a burst of bullets to deliver powerful firepower under the right conditions.

New Ultimate Module “Arche Concretion”

Provides Arche Concretion effect, which increases defense and mentality when using skills but decreases movement speed and attack power. It is particularly useful for Luna and Ajax and can be a good choice for players who want stable skill use. Your choices are free; combine various Modules to create your unique build.

Balance Adjustments

In the week 5 update, we have decided to make balance adjustments for some Descendants and Ultimate weapons.

First, we are adjusting Valby, Blair, and Freyna, who use AOE as their main skills. We hope to see these Descendants more effectively dominate the battlefield, creating large AOE zones and leisurely watching enemies fall from the rear. Look forward to improved performance for these wide-range covering Descendants.

Additionally, there will be improvements to Ultimate weapons that enhance critical hit chance and damage. Enduring Legacy (machine gun), Secret Garden (tactical rifle), and Nazeistra’s Devotion (hand cannon) will be improved to boast more powerful firepower with critical settings.

Moreover, Greg’s Reversed Fate (tactical rifle) will be adjusted to activate its unique effect in more chances. We are also improving the functionality of single-shot weapons, allowing players to choose between single-shot and rapid-fire modes. Please look forward to it.

That’s it for today’s The First Descendant update changelog.

The Finals Update 3.6.0 for Version 1.000.043 Fires Out VOLPE Championship This July 24

Embark has pushed out The Finals update 3.6.0 (console gamers will see this as update 1.000.043), and this is for VOLPE Championship, which includes new balance changes, contracts with new sports gear rewards and more. Read on for the official patch notes for July 24.

The Finals Update 3.6.0 Patch Notes | The Finals Update 1.000.043 Patch Notes:

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

We hope you’re warmed up and ready, Contestants, because the next stop on the World Tour is the VOLPE Championship, and it’s offering some contracts with exclusive sports gear rewards! We’re also running brand new Twitch Drops throughout this World Tour stop, so make sure you tune in for some THE FINALS on Twitch.Tv!

The sponsors are also in full swing fighting over exposure in this week’s store update; check it out below:

Summer is in full swing and vacation times are in full effect, but this week still has some rather substantial changes and bug fixes. In the VOLPE Championship, we’re upping the amount of money you earn per elimination in Cashout, and granting your team part of the vault value immediately when initiating a cashout! We’re also completely removing cash penalties from team wipes – make sure to try these changes out and let us know what you think.

On the bug-fixing side, we have a second fix coming in for the infinite loading screen issue and the issue that prevented contestants from using their specializations, weapons, and gadgets at certain times. For our controller friends, we’ve also fixed the aim assist issue introduced in 3.4 for controller players on PC.

Full list of changes and fixes below:

Balance Changes

Gadgets

Goo Grenade

  • Increased the time it takes for fire to destroy goo from 6s to 12s

Game Modes

Cashout

  • Increased cash awarded for kills from $200 to $500

  • ~30% of the cash in a Cashbox is now awarded to the team that deposits the Cashbox the moment it is added to the Cashout Station. The remaining ~70% of the cash in a Cashbox is awarded when the cashout is completed at the Cashout Station. These values are rounded off to give easier-to-understand values. This replaces the previous $2000 a team would receive for initiating a cashout.

  • Removed all cash loss penalties for team wipes

  • Updated the Vault spawning logic at the start of a match for more even distribution

  • Added new notification messages to the HUD for when cash is awarded to a team

  • Increased the time taken to steal a cashout from 6s to 7s

Dev Note: We’ve felt for some time that Cashout generates more ‘third party’ fights than intended, as well as long-lasting team-versus-team encounters, and that happens in part because of the incentives of the scoring system. We are testing the changes above to see if they address these issues and improve the overall experience.  These changes have been selected as the ruleset for the VOLPE Championships. We’ll monitor how they perform via telemetry and your feedback and will adjust them as needed.

Ranked Terminal Attack

  • Destruction is now reset at half-time without needing to reload the level
Dev note: This should give a smoother experience and reduce downtime

Terminal Attack & Ranked Terminal Attack

  • Added health regeneration thresholds per archetype to Terminal Attack, meaning players will now regenerate health up to a specific threshold based on if they are a Light, Medium or Heavy, rather than the current fixed 100HP. New thresholds are:

    • Light = 100HP

    • Medium = 125HP

    • Heavy = 150HP

Dev Note: We feel this change will help level the playing field, as well as reduce the effectiveness of ‘poke’ damage with weapons like the SR-84. We also feel this change better represents the variety in the archetypes.

Specializations

Evasive Dash

  • Increased the cooldown duration from 5.5s to 6.5s per charge

Goo Gun

  • Increased the time it takes for fire to destroy goo from 6s to 12s

Grapple Hook

  • Decreased the cooldown duration from 10s to 8s

Healing Beam

  • Decreased the time taken until the Healing Beam can overheat from 7s to 5.5s

Dev Note: Overheating is something Healing Beam users rarely have to manage, so we’ve lowered the time to overheat which means players need to be slightly more controlled in their use of it.

Weapons

93R

  • Slightly decreased bullet dispersion when firing from the hip in all stances, making the weapon more accurate

  • Decreased the amount of horizontal recoil when firing the 93R, making it easier to control and more precise

  • Slightly tightened the cluster of bullets fired in a burst, making the weapon more precise

Content and Bug Fixes

Contracts

  • Updated the text on some contracts to say they are earned for ‘rounds,’ not ‘matches,’ to make them clearer

  • Added some additional Contract types

Gadgets

General

  • Fixed an issue where some Gadgets could become ‘locked’ and unable to fire/use

Goo Grenade

  • Fixed an issue where goo could stick to the side of the warm-up zone in Terminal Attack modes

Game Modes

Private Matches

  • Added ‘Pause match’ functionality to private matches. Anybody in a spectator slot can pause the match using the R button

World Tour

  • Fixed an issue where the ‘elimination’ outro screen at the end of a tournament would not show up correctly

Ranked Terminal Attack

  • Adjusted how Ranked Score (RS) updates are calculated for parties.

Dev Note: This should lead to more intuitive RS changes for parties with smaller RS differences between members. Parties with higher RS differences between members will see more appropriate updates based on their own RS. The result should mean that RS changes will be better based on the match result, i.e. larger RS gained when beating stronger teams, and less RS gained when beating weaker teams.

Specializations

General

  • Fixed an issue where some Specializations could become ‘locked’ and unable to fire/use

Goo Gun

  • Fixed an issue where goo could stick to the side of the warm-up zone in Terminal Attack modes

UI

Game Summary Screen

  • Brought back the “deaths” statistic to the summary

  • Brought back the mixed-caps style font

Front-end menus

  • Fixed several issues that could result in ‘out of memory’ crashes

  • Fixed an issue where having text chat open could block some button inputs

HUD

  • Fixed an issue where the colorblind settings would not update in the Terminal Attack score widget

Ping System

  • Changed default ping intent on Cashout Stations owned by enemy teams to “attack”

  • Jump pads now generate an event log message when pinged

  • Fixed an event log message that had incorrect player name data

  • Updated event log message text from “Going to vault X” to “Move to vault X,” to bring it in line with other instructional pings

  • Added a new HUD icon when pinging player statues

Weapons

General

    • Fixed an issue where some Weapons could become ‘locked’ and unable to fire/use

Stay tuned for more The Finals coverage here on MP1st.

NEW EQUIPMENT

NEW OPERATORS

Cody Rhodes (SpecGru)

Born into wrestling royalty as the son of the late WWE Hall of Famer “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes was destined for greatness. He honed his skills for years, capturing multiple titles in WWE from 2007 to 2016 by capturing two Intercontinental Championships and six WWE Tag Team Championships before departing to forge his own path.

But The American Nightmare refused to stay away, making a heroic return at WrestleMania 38 to answer Seth “Freakin” Rollins’s open challenge. Despite suffering a torn pectoral, Cody’s perseverance saw him defeat The Visionary twice, solidifying his status as one of the most tenacious and resilient competitors in the game. At WrestleMania XL, Cody achieved his destiny, dethroning Roman Reigns to claim the Undisputed WWE Championship.

Boasting a dangerous arsenal and a tremendous knowledge of the squared circle, Rhodes battled everyone from Randy Orton to The Miz to Rey Mysterio and so many more. Now, this wrestling legacy carries his family name into battle. Blessed with an arsenal of punishing maneuvers and a psychotic level of toughness, The American Nightmare has arrived – underestimate him at your peril.

Rey Mysterio (SpecGru)

He stands only 5-foot-6 and barely weighs 175 pounds, but a lack of size hasn’t stopped the incomparable Rey Mysterio from achieving giant dreams in WWE, including capturing the WWE Championship, two World Heavyweight Championships, two Intercontinental Championships, three United States Championships, five WWE Tag Team Championships, three WWE Cruiserweight Championships, and outlasting 29 other Superstars to win the Royal Rumble Match as the No. 2 entrant.

Whether standing up to a dangerous giant like Kane or flying down from the top of a steel cage, the Ultimate Underdog is known for refusing to be intimidated inside the ring. Trained in the proud Mexican tradition of lucha libre before he was even old enough to drive, Rey Mysterio adopted his ring name in tribute to his uncle and hid his face under a mask as lucha custom dictates.

First establishing himself in the cruiserweight and tag team divisions, the Mexican Superstar soon proved that size doesn’t matter when he beat the odds to win the Royal Rumble Match in 2006. From there, Mysterio accomplished the inconceivable when he won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXII, becoming the smallest Superstar ever to hold that title.

With his revolutionary style, Mysterio overcame the odds to enjoy a championship career that is respected by fellow Superstars and the WWE Universe alike, making him one of the most well-known and beloved competitors of all time. Defy the odds and shatter expectations by joining the Master of the 619 as he brings his heart, determination, and an endless supply of high-impact aerial insanity to the warzone.

Ivan (KorTac)

A veteran Konni operative, Ivan Alexxeve was loyal to the people, and to the cause.

Ivan Alexxeve was the scariest man in the room. In his young and impressionable youth, Ivan spent time with his father in New York City, witnessing a world of espionage and deceit. He took some hard lessons back to Russia, where he carried on his family’s decorated military legacy in his own military career, climbing the ranks with sheer determination and physicality.

His distrust and dislike of the West eventually led him to the Konni Group, where he met and aligned himself with Makarov in the hopes of dismantling and disproving the West’s notion of being the most powerful military in the world.

While Ivan and Makarov shared the goal of the West’s defeat and Russia’s rise, they disagreed on the treatment of soldiers. Ivan understood loyalty to be a two-way street between commander and soldier, but misunderstood his own importance to Makarov.

When Ivan became frustrated at Makarov’s callous treatment of his soldiers, knowing firsthand what it’s like to be pushed and abused by your superiors for unimaginable results, Makarov watched Ivan’s loyalty falter… and he did not like what he saw.

For questioning his leader, and wasting time, Ivan was executed by Makarov at a Konni base in 2023.

Reconker BlackCell (KorTac)

Execute BlackCell orders without question, without hesitation, and without mercy.

Rhea Ripley (KorTac)
Rhea Ripley is a cold-blooded killer forged in the fires of brutal combat. This Aussie nightmare slashed her way through the ranks, dominating the Mae Young Classic and the inaugural NXT UK Women’s Championship Tournament.

The Nightmare’s list of accolades only grew as she reached the main roster. After an awe-inspiring showing during the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble Match, Ripley shocked the world by ending Asuka’s reign of terror in the Raw Women’s Championship Match at WrestleMania 37.

The ultra-aggressive and terrifyingly strong Aussie embraced her true self, and that spelled bad news for anyone who faced her, as she already had the physical goods to stand toe-to-toe with any Superstar in sports entertainment.

Now unleashed on the battlefield, Rhea Ripley embraces her role as an agent of torment and fear. Merciless, dominant, and seemingly unstoppable – this is the embodiment of a true Nightmare.

    • Increased maximum damage range from 5.6m to 8.9m (+14%).
    • Increased near-medium damage range from 11.4m to 15.2m (+33%).

We’re happy with the current challenge but we wanted to create more gunfights around the nuke itself. We’ve noticed a lot of nukes were planted with few squads remaining and/or in final circles. Helldivers 2 Next Major Update “Escalation of Freedom” Launches Aug. 6; Here’s What to Expect

While Arrowhead Game Studios has been pumping out game updates for Helldivers 2, these usually consists of bug fixes, weapon balance changes and the like. Well, that’s about to change next month, as the Helldivers 2 next major update is titled “Escalation of Freedom,” and is set to launch on August 6!

Helldivers 2 Next Major Update “Escalation of Freedom” New Content:

Super Helldive

CR 10: Super Helldive is our most challenging, most relentless dive difficulty level yet, and we hope that this is going to give players the intensity they’re looking for on the battlefield. And with a great challenge comes greater rewards.

New Mission Objectives:

New mission objectives and bigger enemy outposts for both bots and bugs that offer brand new Super Sample rewards. These outposts will be heavily fortified, and require players to coordinate and strategize in order to take them out.

New Enemies:

  • Impaler – This big guy from the original Helldivers creates some new challenges. No longer can you run from the bugs when the Impaler is around–big, imposing, and destructive, it demands to be dealt with.
  • Spore Charger -As if the regular old Charger wasn’t scary enough, the Spore Charger is shrouded in fog to obscure its location until it’s right up on you, Helldiver.
  • Termind Alpha Commander -A  supercharged Brood Commander that’s bigger, meaner, and doesn’t hesitate to call in other bugs for backup.
  • Rocket Tank and “bot surprises” incoming for the Automatons enemy type

Grief Kicking:

To help improve this we have implemented a system where if a player is kicked, they will spawn into a new session as the host with all of the team’s loot from their previous session. All items can now be picked up by the player before extraction. The squad doing the kicking will see a message in the chat widget that a player has been kicked, yet their loot remains unchanged.

With these changes, all players have the opportunity to leave with all loot collected on mission, with no one Helldiver losing out. We’re committed to making changes that will improve the player experience and encourage healthy, cooperative gameplay.

Other Improvements:

  • Quality of life upgrades incoming
  • Major fixes to social menu (to make diving with friends easier)

Arrowhead states there are a “ton of surprises” with Helldivers 2’s Escalation of Freedom update. Stay tuned for the complete patch notes, which we’ll publish (MP1st is the fastest when it comes to posting game updates) once it’s live.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes PC Early Access Preview – One With the Force

In case you missed the news, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes has finally made its way onto PC in the form of an early access release! While sure, the game was originally built for mobile devices when it was released back in 2015 and has remained stuck on the platform up until now, the studio behind the game, EA Capital Games, has managed to conjure all kinds of force energy to bring this port to life, breathing an entirely new experience into Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.

Let the Power of the PC Flow Through You!

It should come as no surprise to anyone that when a new platform is released, games typically take advantage of the latest specs offered. In the case of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes on PC, which isn’t at all demanding, Capital Games has ensured that the PC version got a nice visual bump, now supporting up to full 4K resolution and textures, along with an increase in performance over its mobile counterparts.

While by no means is Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes pushing the visual fidelity of gaming to new heights (it is a mobile game, after all), the visual bump and performance certainly make for a very “next-gen” experience for those jumping from mobile to PC. The game runs flawlessly on both my 3080 and 4090 builds and I’m sure even potato builds can run it without any issues, as, once again, the game isn’t at all demanding (CPU and GPU minimum specs are over a decade old). The added antialiasing removes most of those annoying jaggies the mobile versions have, making it an even better-looking game. One thing I noticed instantly was how clear and cleaner the font looked, which, while it isn’t awful on mobile, does at times come off a bit blurry where I’ll need to squint my eyes a bit to see better. Maybe my eyes are getting old, but I don’t run into that issue on the PC version.

Elsewhere, because the game can now be played on a bigger screen, breaking away from the compact size of a phone, the UI in the PC version can display a lot, and I mean a lot more information and content. Inventory, for example, on the character page, goes from displaying 18 items to now displaying 40 items before having to scroll down. All the menus are accessible from a single screen of any given tab. It’s a nice little upgrade that makes all the difference, and it’s enough to want to make the switch alone.

But visuals and performance boosts are always a given whenever a game comes to a platform capable of more. What of the controls, seeing that Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes was built with a touchscreen in mind? Well, I’m happy to say that Capital Games has fully embraced the mouse and keyboard side of the force.

Luke, Use The Mouse

Any PC gamer who loves PC gaming will probably tell you that one of the biggest reasons is because of mouse and keyboard. Don’t get me wrong, I myself am mostly a controller player, even on PC. It’s what I grew up with and will always be my go-to. Unfortunately, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes doesn’t support controllers natively (yet, and the team says they’re looking at more accessibility options), but it has been redesigned to work with mouse and keyboard, and as expected, the controls are far more responsive and snappier than using a touchscreen (at least for me).

Many in-game actions are bindable and allow almost full customization of how you play. No more tapping on the screen; everything is accessible within finger reach. I’m hoping controller support is something the studio manages to figure out, but in the meantime, playing with a mouse and keyboard is definitely leaps ahead of playing on mobile.

Still, the joy of mobile is being able to play on the go, and thankfully, that’s not something you have to sacrifice with the PC version.

May the Force Be With You, Wherever You Go

Like many cross-platform games, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes fully supports crossplay with mobile players, so you’ll never have to worry about not being able to play with friends just because you switched platforms. But one thing I’ve grown over the years with crossplay is cross-progression, being able to play on one platform and pick things up on another without the worry of losing progression.

As long as you’re logged into the same account on mobile and PC for Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, your progression will carry over seamlessly between the two platforms. That’s the joy of cross-progression, which isn’t exclusive to Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, but I’m glad that Capital Games was able to get that to work for such an old game. Even though it highlights just how much better the PC version is than the mobile version, most, if not all, PC gamers don’t have the luxury of being able to lug around our builds wherever we want. So, the sacrifice in performance and visuals is one I’m happy to make for the ease of access of being able to play on the go, anywhere, and at any time.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes on the PC is an impressive mobile port that feels right at home. I know not everyone is into the gacha genre of games, nor am I really trying to sway anyone to get into Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, especially if they didn’t like it before (though the game has come a long way, notably in accessibility)  but as far as ports go, Capital Games have really knocked it out of the park with the PC port of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes. It looks and feels fantastic, comes with great quality-of-life improvements, and plays great with a mouse and keyboard. Sure, there’s room for improvement that we’re sure players are already voicing about, but as a start to early access, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes PC edition is off to a fantastic start.

The Sims 4 Update 1.94 Released for Free Content and Bug Fixes This July 23

Maxis has pushed out The Sims 4 update 1.94 on all platforms, and this brings free content to base game owners! Not only that, but there’s a significant number of bugs squashed as well. Read on for what’s new in The Sims 4 update patch notes for July 23.

The Sims 4 Update 1.94 Patch Notes for July 23:

Update: Added more info from EA.

PC: 1.108.289.1030 / Mac: 1.108.289.1230

Console: 1.94

What’s New in The Sims 4 ?

All for Love

Romantic Boundaries

null

Real life relationships are nuanced and complex!  Romantic Boundaries bring some of that into The Sims 4 by enabling you to define the conditions under which your Sims become jealous. These live in Create a Sim alongside the “Gender” and “Sexual Orientation” options in the Identity Panel and you can change them at any point in time.

  1. Does your Sim become Jealous from Non-Physical Romance?

Non-Physical Romance consists of social interactions that do not involve physical touch. Examples: flirting and complimenting appearance

  2. Does your Sim become Jealous from Physical Romance?

Physical Romance consists of socials that do involve physical touch. Examples: Kissing and holding hands

  3. Does your Sim become Jealous from WooHoo?

This applies to WooHoo for Young Adults and older and Mess Around for Teens.

  4. Is your Sim open to changing the factors that cause them to become Jealous?

“Yes” means the Sim can be asked in Live Mode to reconsider their feelings surrounding Jealousy for the settings above.

The defaults for all of these will be “Yes” for Sims in your existing games so that you can be the one to decide if you want different behavior.  New Sims that the game makes can run the spectrum!

Hiding Relationships

As your Sims are dating or simply going about their daily lives, their Relationship Panel will accumulate more and more Sims. Tired of it being cluttered with random Sims that you met once and have no desire to meet again?  Or have an ex that you want to scrub from your contacts?  Well, good news! Now you can remove those Sims (who are not members of your household) by selecting them in the Relationship Panel and selecting “Hide Relationship”. Make room for the Sims who really matter!

Neutral Relationship Names

null

The language for Sims’ relationships now is more neutral to be more inclusive.

  • “Husband / Wife” → “Spouse”
  • “Fiancé / Fiancée” → “Engaged”
  • “Boyfriend/Girlfriend” → “Partner”

One place where you can see this is in Create a Sim.  Select the “Identity” button (it looks like three dots) and go to the Household Relationships Panel.

Partner Status

Previously, the Partners relationship could only be established through gameplay. Now you can set it within Create a Sim between two Sims in your household!

Create a Sim

Eyelashes

null

Eyelashes now have their own category! As you all know, some eye shapes have eyelashes as part of them. Now, Sims can have separate eyelashes applied independently from the shape of the eye! And since they are in their own category, they also are compatible with other accessories such as glasses and piercings. The base game includes two styles of lashes for a more dramatic look for your Sims! Seriously! It’s for everyone. For free. Today. Right now!

“Apply to All Outfits” Button

null

The days of manually finding and selecting the same accessory, makeup, hat, hair, top, bottom, full-body outfit, or footwear for each outfit are gone!  Now you can hit this single button to apply the item to every outfit at once! Love that makeup look you just perfected in your Sim’s Everyday style? Now you can apply it to multiple categories! Found the perfect pair of pants for your party outfit, but applied it to Everyday by accident? You can also select specific categories to copy to, as well! This works on all ages and with all types of Occult Sims. We can’t believe it either. Is today the best day ever?!

Note: Currently, the Apply All Button adds the selected item to your Sim’s outfits. It does not remove outfit pieces – only adds or replaces.

We look forward to any feedback you might have on this new feature, so we can continue to improve it to meet your CAS needs in future releases!

Updated Hairstyles

null

null

Is that a new hairstyle or are you just happy to see me? Yes, we are happy to see you and, yes, it is new hair!

Dark and Lovely Hairstyle Partnership

null

And there’s even more hair! Part two of The Sims 4 collaboration with Dark and Lovely arrives in this update with two color variants of the new loc braids. Check out Dark & Lovely’s – Play In Color, a campaign that champions diversity and inclusion and spotlights the game changers who are redefining the rules in the games industry.

French Tips, Coffin Nails, and Neutral Palettes

null

We’re excited to bring more nail styles and color palettes! There are new designs for French Tips and Coffin Nails to add flair to your fingertips. We’ve also added more color palettes for everyone to express themselves more freely! A whole new series of nude nails is also available to provide an extensive selection to match natural nail beds.

Build Mode: Curved Pools

null

Now your pools can have rounded corners! Curved Pools work like Curved Walls—place a corner piece and adjust the sides. Mix and match with regular corners—let your imagination run wild! There also is a new pool light, Oblong Wall Light, that works perfectly on curved pool walls!

Live Mode

Relationship Interactions

null

A new “Relationship…” category in the Interaction menu now contains actions across the Base Game and a number of packs that directly relate to relationship status such as “Ask to Join Household” or “Become Best Friends”.

Safe Music Streaming

The Music section of Game Options now has a “Safe for Steaming” toggle to play only the music that is safe for streaming The Sims 4! When this is checked, you don’t have to worry about your stream or video running into music copyright issues. We’ll be adding more music with streaming-friendly licensing as time goes on.

Neighborhood Stories

null

Neighborhood Stories now has two new options within Manage Households: Friendship Changes and Romance Changes. This enables Sims in other households to start and end those types of relationships on their own. You can use the mailbox each day to “Check Recent Neighborhood Stories” for news such as Sims your household knows becoming best friends, breaking up, or getting back together.

Conversation Panel

null

We gave a new coat of paint to improve the usability of that panel that appears at the top of the screen when your active Sim is in a conversation! Did you know you can do all these things with it?

  • Select the Sims’ portraits to see…

    • their mood
    • their relationship levels (regular and romantic) with your Sim
  • Select the book icon to see that Sim’s Sentiment with your Sim

Bug Fixes

Base Game / Multipack

Top Fixes

Live Mode

  • Jealousy was getting ahead of itself! Those jealousy buffs were wrongly calling an engaged Sim a spouse. We’ve calmed things down and fixed the mix-up!
  • Upon learning a Sim’s WooHoo interest and opening their Sim Profile, the Sim Profile will no longer say “No One“ even when the sim has a WooHoo interest in Men/Women.

  • The need for fun won’t stop a Sim from enjoying their meal—they’ll finish eating before fulfilling their fun needs.
  • When multitasking two books being read, the Sim will no longer skip the first book. Now they will read it, put it away, and then go for the second book.
  • “Make a Move“ now is available between Sims whose marriage was established in Create a Sim.
  • If a Sim is rejected after asking another Sim on a date, a notification will be given on why they were turned down.

  • If a Discovery Quest appears during an Event that has Goals and Rewards, your Sims now keep their Event titles and the progress remains visible.
  • Sims will be able to “Ask on Date…“ without the need for Romantic Relationship. That won’t stop Sims from rejecting the date proposal if things are off though.
  • When planning an Event, the Plumbob will appear next to the venue choices when scrolling through the available locations.
  • When planning an Event, the selected venue will appear at the top of the selection list if you navigate away and then back to the venue selection.
  • When planning an Event, Sims that are preselected will now count as a single entry rather than not being counted.
  • When planning an Event on console, the tooltip will now inform that a Sim is being changed from a Guest to a Hired Role. Additionally, a tooltip will appear if the Sim being hired for a Role has work scheduled during the Event.

  • A Sim now can learn about another Sim’s financial status when they “Get to Know“ that Sim.

  • If acne is disabled in the Game Options, it will not appear on Sims in Live Mode.
  • The correct icons now appear in the Action Queue for “Admire Courage“, “Moving Too Fast“, and “Talk about Marriage“ rather than just showing the Sims face.

  • The light is back in Sims’ eyes with certain hairstyles (yfHair_EP12WavyFadeOmbre, ymHair_EP12WavyFadeOmbre, and ymHair_EP12WavyFade).
  • “Talk about Marriage“ now appears in the “Small Talk“ section of the Interaction Pie Menu and won’t always surface to the main Pie Menu interactions.
  • Benchmark Seating’s preview image now is pink when viewing the pink swatch. I can’t blame it, blue’s a great color.

Growing Together

  • Even if two Sims have amazing compatibility, romantic interactions won’t always be successful.
  • Haughty Herringbone Wall and Floor Tile’s color swatch for the gray version now matches instead of being black. Don’t mind it, it was just going through an emo phase…
  • Teen Sims will only have memories of “First Mess Around“ and will not confuse this with “First Woohoo.“ Teens will have to wait for adulthood for that.
  • Photobooth pictures will now fit nice and snug inside the Hodgepodge Photo Collage Frames.
  • The social compatibility icon has been improved in the Relationship Panel to better represent compatibility.

Horse Ranch

  • If a Sim leaves a conversation while mounted, they no longer blather on indefinitely.
  • Chestnut Ridge now shows its attractions when considering it for a Vacation. The tourism board wants you to visit for Dreadhorse Caverns, its rare fishing spots, and, of course, the horseback riding!
  • “Ask about Getting a Horse“ now shows the Friendly interaction icon in the Action Queue rather than showing the Horse Trainer’s face.
  • Up to eight Sims can enter the Equestrian Center instead of just one to spectate competitions—yeehaw!
  • If the computer is broken, Sims now have to repair it before they can purchase or rescue a Horse with it.
  • Horses move more smoothly and navigate more directly at Fast Speed and Ultra Speed.
  • Horses no longer teleport to their destination when trying to walk backwards in Fast Speed or Ultra Speed.
  • Foals turn around instead of sometimes going backwards to use objects.
  • Horses have lots of “locomotion” improvements!  They travel more directly to their destination, slow down when going through gates, and stop more smoothly.  They walk in and out of narrow spaces and gates (forwards and backwards!) more deftly.
  • Moreover, autonomous Horse movement is more performant.
  • Sims on Horses no longer socialize with Sims through walls.

For Rent

  • Residential Rentals are now available for Penthouse Lots! We were waiting for Residential Rentals to high-rise to the occasion and now they’re ready to be built to your specifications.
  • The name of the Residential Rental lot will stop reverting back to its default name.
  • The amount of Rent per Day now can be set with a controller on console.
  • Households that do not use utilities such as power and water and owe zero Simoleons will not receive messages that threaten utility shutoff.
  • When the Property Owner is visiting a Tenant unit on the same residential property, the Sim Picker specifies “Visit Unit…“ rather than displaying “Go Home…“
  • Deleting and then undoing the deletion of a shared unit wall in a Residential Rental lot that has reached its maximum unit capacity will no longer cause issues with the “Create Unit“ functionality.
  • Visiting the Property Owner on the same residential property will no longer state that the Property Owner is not home—they can’t escape meeting you now!
  • Changing the name of the Penthouse Residential Rental will also be reflected in the Property Management Interface and the Lot Name headers.
  • “Sell Residential Rental“ is specifically used to avoid confusion with commercial businesses when selling residential property.
  • All versions of Oh So Floral, Oh So Fancy Tile now are shiny.
  • The Rent shown now is correct based on the unit size and amenities.
  • When renting a residential unit, a tooltip now specifies “Rent Unit“ before confirming the rental, similar to renting an apartment.
  • Tenants and Property Owners can now find each other in the Business filter of the Relationships Panel.

MultiVersus Update 1.37 Slams Out for Season 2, New Content and Patch Notes Listed

Player First Games has released MultiVersus update 1.37 (PS5 version 1.037) and this is for Season 2! This brings new Samurai Jack into the game, a new map, and of course, adjustments. For the complete details, read on for the MultiVersus new update patch notes for July 23.

MultiVersus Season 2 Update Patch Notes:

PS4 Version 1.37 | PS5 Version 1.037

General

  • New Fighter: Samurai Jack joins the Multiverse! Purchase the season 2 Battle Pass to immediately receive Samurai Jack as a playable fighter.
  • Jason and Agent Smith are now available for purchase in the store for 6000 Fighter Currency or 1000 Gleamium
  • The Joker’s price has been lowered to 3000 Fighter Currency from 6000 Fighter Currency
  • New Map: Water Tower has been added to the game! Water Tower comes with three variants: default, locked door, and 1v1 versions

Ranked

Ranked queue is now available (requires minimum Account Level 5)! Queue up for 2v2 or 1v1 ranked matches, earn Ranked Points to climb the ladder and earn seasonal cosmetics!

  • Ranked matches are best-of-3 sets, and leaving a match early will incur a leaver RP penalty.
  • Same-character teams are not allowed in ranked matches.
  • Your rank is separate on each character you play, in each queue you play them. Try to rank up as many characters as you can!

Rifts

The Path of the Samurai Rift is NOW AVAILABLE! We will be releasing a new Rift every two weeks during season 2

Rift Updates

  • Fixed an issue where certain attacks would freeze when hitting destructible enemies.

Events

  • Events now reward event currency/tokens which players can redeem for in-game items
  • We’ve added new Event Shops to exchange earned currency/tokens for new themed skins and cosmetics
  • Event missions now release on a weekly basis
  • PvP games now also award Event experience
  • Certain fighter variants are now tagged as “Boost” variants. Equip “Boost” variants during an Event to increase experience rate when playing in PvP
  • “Boost” variants will increase experience rate for Fighter Mastery, Battle Pass, Career, and Event progression.
  • “Boost” variants can be earned and used prior to the end of an Event
  • “Boost” variants allow for accelerated progression, but are not required for Event completion.

Combat Changes

We are looking at combat mechanics across the cast with an intent to reward more offensive gameplay. Several attacks have been updated to work better as combo starters, and we have adjusted ground jumps to allow for easier aerial approaches. We expect to have more changes to share in the midseason patch.

We are also updating the language in our patch notes. Previous patch notes have used the term “branch window” to describe the period of time where a player can input a new action to interrupt a fighter animation before it has completed. From now on patch notes will refer to this period as a “cancel window”

  • Fighters now maintain their ground momentum into a ground jump even if it exceeds their maximum air speed. This will allow for fighters to better “jump in” against defensive enemies.
  • Fighters frozen by receiving maximum stacks of ice debuff now applies an incapacitate-resistance buff to frozen fighters
  • Fighters affected by the “Stop Camping” debuff can no longer gain any dodge meter until the fighters engage in combat.
  • Fighters clinging to a wall will begin to slide faster after spending 1.5 seconds on the wall, down from 2.5 seconds; time until “wall fatigue” debuff unchanged.
  • Terrain bounce knockback has been standardized across the cast to prevent lighter characters from taking extra knockback from terrain bounces
  • Maximum Weakened debuff stacks has been reduced to 3 from 5

General Bugfixes

  • Fixed an issue where a fighter undergoing extremely high knockback would not be knocked away.

General Perks

Air Walker

  • Cancel window after platform spawn delayed 6 frames

  • Air/Ground Neutral Special
    • ~ Bomb self-attach lockout increased to 1 second from 0.5 seconds

Iron Giant

Iron Giant has had his time in the shop but he still remains a menace in PvP games. His defensive tools feel a little overbearing right now, so we’re looking to tweak his hurtboxes and increase his received hitstun so he feels more like a normal fighter at low damages. Hopefully with a slightly weaker defense he will feel more in line with the rest of the cast.

  • General
    • * Fixed an issue where certain animations had misaligned hurtboxes
    • – Increased hitstun taken
    • ~ Slightly reduced knockback taken at low damage

Jake

We still feel like Jake has not been performing up to his potential in PvP. We will look to address this more with our midseason update, but for now we wanted to give him a few new tools to help him out.

  • General
    • * Fixed an issue where certain animations had misaligned hurtboxes

    • + On-hit cancel window advanced 2 frames

Marvin

  • Air/Ground Neutral Special
    • –  Repeat-move lockout increased to 15 frames from 8 frames

Morty

Morty has a strong reliance on his ground side special that promotes a very campy gameplan. We wanted to reduce the power of his ground side special while giving him some quality-of-life buffs to see how he performs with better close-range tools.

  • Ground Side Attack 1
    • + Hitbox size increased
  • Ground Side Attack, Neutral Attack Follow-up (Whip)

Taz

Taz has seen a lot of play due to a limited number of overpowered tools. We want to see more diversity of attacks in Taz gameplay, so we’ve limited the power of his more abusive attacks like ground up attack and ground neutral attack, while buffing some of his less-used attacks to give him a more balanced game plan.

  • General
    • * Fixed an issue where certain animations had misaligned hurtboxes
  • Ground Dash Attack

Apex Legends Update 1.000.075 Ushers in Void Reckoning Event and New Cosmetics

Respawn Entertainment has pushed out Apex Legends update 1.000.075 on consoles and PC, and this is for the Void Reckoning event that brings a new LTM mode, new cosmetics for players to earn and more starting this July 23.

Apex Legends Update 1.000.075 Patch Notes for July 23:

NEW LIMITED-TIME MODE: BIG TDM

What’s that old saying? Go big or go home? Well this Team Deathmatch variant is definitely not going home. Join 23 other players in a 12 v 12 brawl across 5 maps. Big TDM brings improved health regeneration and an increased score limit of 60. Pick your fav Legend and go do big things.

MILESTONE EVENT ITEMS

Unlock 22 galant limited-time cosmetics to proceed through the event and unlock milestone rewards! Each Void Reckoning item received during the event counts towards these bonus rewards that you’ll automatically unlock after earning 5, 12, and 17 items.

All 22 items, including the “Crestfallen Stars” Reactive Havoc, can be acquired via Void Reckoning Event Packs†—and there are no duplicates of event items in these packs. Just looking for the event Legend skins? You can pick those up directly in the Shop. Note: each event pack contains one event item and two standard items.

REWARD SHOP

Earn Void Points by completing daily event challenges, then head to the Void Reckoning Reward Shop to choose your own rewards and see your progress with event badges. The Reward Shop and offerings rotate weekly.

A limited amount of Void Points can be earned per day by completing challenges and they refresh daily.

There are also new items available in the in-game store, which you can check out here.

So far, Respawn has not mentioned if any gameplay-related changes are included, though that doesn’t seem to be the case. Of course, the big news regarding the game is the upcoming change to its Battle Pass in Season 22, and it’s something the player base has been very vocal on not supporting.

Apex Legends 2.61 Brings Void Reckoning This July 23

Apex Legends update 2.61 and this is for the Dead Reckoning event, and this brings the new LTM mode “Big TDM,” new items to earn and more. Read on for what’s new in the Apex Legends patch notes for July 23.

Apex Legends 2.61 Patch Notes for July 23:
