Fallout 76 Servers Down for Maintenance This July 23 and Patch Roll Out

Can’t get to your vaults in Fallout 76? Having issues connecting to the game’s servers? It’s not just you, but Bethesda has taken the Fallout 76 servers down this July 23, and this is for scheduled maintenance where we will see a new patch be rolled out on all platforms.

Update: Here’s the patch notes for the July 23 Fallout 76 title update.

Fallout 76 Servers Down Status and Schedule for July 23:

  • Downtime Schedule: 10 am ET/7 am PT/10 pm HKT
  • Duration: Not specified but usually lasts 2-3 hours.

Once the complete patch notes are out, we’ll update the article with the info. In the meantime, you can check out the Milepost Zero PTS (Public Test Server) patch notes.

Legendary Crafting

  • Removed Legendary Particles
  • Scrapping Legendary Items now grants Scrip instead of Legendary Particles
    • The amount of Scrip gained this way is significantly less than the Scrip vending machine gives
  • Attaching Legendary Mods now requires Scrip, instead of Modules
  • Crafting Legendary Mods now requires Legendary Modules
    • Some mods have an additional required item
  • Fixed an issue preventing Vault 94 armor from being Legendary Crafted
  • Fixed cases where Legendary Items couldn’t be scrapped
  • Legendary Core rewards from Events and Quests replaced with Legendary Modules

Dev Note: A common thread we saw in the feedback on Legendary Crafting was concern and a bit of confusion about an additional currency being used by the system. We also saw that players ended up with more Legendary Particles than they wanted to use. So, to simplify and make the system feel more familiar, we felt that continuing to utilize Modules & Scrip would make it easier to understand and use.

Stay tuned to our update on this article.

College Football 25 Update 1.005 Runs Out This July 23

The first post-launch patch for EA Sports College Football 25 is now live on all platforms and this should bring various fixes to the football sim. Console players will be able to download College Football 25 update 1.005 right now, and you can read on below for the info and patch notes.

College Football 25 Update 1.005 Patch Notes for July 23:

Download Size: 1.3GB (PS5)

Update 2: EA has confirmed this patch is for performance improvements.

Update: No patch notes from EA yet, but here are some of the confirmed fixes via the community:

  • Online Dynasties fixed the bug that only allowed 20 custom coaches. (About52Chickens)
  • Players can now actually access Online Dynasty
  • Fixed current dynasties and will let players access their old dynasty that was previously inaccessible (via Stock-Handle-6543)

While the official patch notes haven’t been revealed just yet, the dev team did talk about some of the issues they’re tackling (heh) currently, which we’ve listed below.

ROSTERS & LIKENESSES:

Per the dev team: There are some slight inaccuracies with rosters and likenesses that our team is looking to update as soon as possible as we work through summer roster movement that is natural to college football. For our very passionate Dynasty fans, you can hop in and play this week or wait for a roster update around college football kickoff for the most up to date experience.

Also, one more question we want to answer: Yes, ratings updates for rosters WILL happen as we move through the college football season, so stay tuned!

AUDIO

  • Incorrect commentary when playing as the first game of the season in Dynasty at Utah
  • Florida State’s War Chant and Tennessee’s “Rocky Top” are not audible when playing only on Xbox Series S

LOGOS

  • The following teams/conferences have incorrect logos: Stanford, UMass, Western Michigan, Jacksonville State, FIU, New Mexico, SEC, Conference USA, and the Sun Belt
  • UTEP and Wyoming display incorrect athletic branding on their equipment in Dynasty
  • Visual issue with conference patches when changing a small subset of teams Conference in Dynasty

DYNASTY

Before we talk about some things we are tracking in Dynasty, we wanted to provide some things to consider and clarity on the design intentions. There are many factors at play in Dynasty that can create ripple effects: Injuries, players going pro early, transfers, strong or weak recruiting classes, upsets, and more! The beauty of the mode is that two different users can begin playing Dynasty as the same school, but over multiple years, their College Football 25 worlds can develop notable differences. Dynasty is intentionally designed in a way where the backend systems will create organic and dynamic situations that lead to branching stories. We didn’t want to have a rigid system that leads to all users experiencing the same situations and stories 5, 10, or 15 years in – the world of college football is dynamic and so is Dynasty in College Football 25.

As for player feedback, we do see the feedback about the Super Sim Logic. We have been looking into tuning Super Sim Logic, including FCS schools potentially creating more upsets than intended. As for wider Super Sim Logic tuning, we will continue to monitor player feedback and the telemetry data from all users’ Dynasties as we gather more data. Our team has been thrilled to see so many fans share the stories they’re experiencing, so keep it coming!

  • Super Sim Logic Tuning: The team is looking into tuning of the Super Sim Logic, including FCS schools upsetting too many Power 5 schools
    • Note: As we continue internal testing on the tuning of Super Sim Logic, Top 25 Polls & the College Football Playoff seedings will also see an improvement.
  • Issue when adding additional teams to the PAC-12 conference when using custom conferences does not generate a new conference schedule as intended.
    • Workaround: After adding teams to the PAC-12, open the Conference Rules and set Divisions to ON. Users will see they can now set the number of conference games by toggling back and forth. Users can then disable divisions and edit other settings as desired.
  • Issue with modified conference rules not saving
    • Workaround: Users can re-enter the Conference Rules screen to ensure their settings were saved and are valid. If they did not save, then the rules are not valid with their current setup.
  • Occasionally, when a recruit reaches their Top 5 stage, it will not display the recruit is “Ready for a Visit” despite meeting the requirements.
  • Recruiting Tuning: The team has planned additional tuning to recruiting logic.
  • Small chance of a freeze when simulating individual plays quickly after exiting “Super Sim”
    • Workaround: Wait a couple seconds in between simulating the individual plays before exiting Super Sim.
  • Issue with the Practice Tile not initially appearing in the “Team” tab
    • Workaround: Exit the mode and then re-enter.
  • Current maximum cap of 20 created coaches instead of the intended 32 created coaches
    • Note: The team is targeting Tuesday for an issue fix that limits Dynasty’s to 20 created coaches. A current work around is using existing coaches in the remaining spots to reach 32.
  • Player jersey numbers and/or OVRs changing when editing certain players gear.

Online Dynasty: A high priority for the team right now is the issue of some players being unable to load into a previously established online dynasty.

TEAM BUILDER

  • When using a Team Builder team in Play Now, cleats are defaulted to Adidas regardless of selected brand apparel.
    • Note: This does not impact Team Builder teams used in Dynasty
  • Second custom image layer not appearing on the field
    • Workaround: Add a second layer, then select a generic image, and then re-select your custom image.

Once the official patch notes are out, we’ll update the article with the info,

Battlefield 2042 Update 1.57 for Patch 8.0.0 Deployed This July 23

DICE has released Battlefield 2042 update 1.57 (PS5 version will show up as 1.000.060), and this is a minor update that removes stuff rather than adding anything new. It does bring in adjustments to the XFAD-4 Draugr which is detailed below in the official patch notes.

Battlefield 2042 Update 1.57 Patch Notes | BF2402 Update 1.000.060 Patch Notes:

The primary focus of this update is to return Battlefield 2042 to its main theme within the game’s menus as we transition away from Season 7 visuals.

Update #8.0.0 will have no downtime for this update, though you may need to restart your game to benefit from the changes.

Additional Changes:
  • Increased first-person perspective free look sensitivity of XFAD-4 Draugr to be consistent with other comparable aircraft (Jets).

Yep, that’s about it for this patch. That said, while nothing new has been added, and DICE has confirmed Season 7 is the last seasonal content drop for the shooter, players can still expect new events, Vault Drops and patches to be part of the support. Speaking of events, the Dead Space event was just launched this month, which you can read about here to know what new rewards are in tow.

Marvel Rivals Beta Update 1.000.004 Day One Patch Notes Revealed

Ahead of Marvel Rivals’ closed beta kick off today, NetEase has released a new patch for PC and consoles. Marvel Rivals beta update 1.000.004 should be available for download right now, and this brings hero changes and more. Read on for the Marvel Rivals day one update patch notes for the closed beta below.

Marvel Rivals Beta Update 1.000.004 Day One Patch Notes:

Hey Players, Dev Team here! The long-awaited Super Heroes Venom and Adam Warlock are gearing up to join our Closed Beta Test (CBT). Get ready for an electrifying surge of fresh experiences and game-shaping dynamics as we go through new heroes, Balance Adjustments, and the all-new Cosmic Selection (Pick/Ban) System.

Prepare to confront chaos as Vanguard hero Venom enters the battle! In designing Venom, we aimed to capture the astonishing essence of the alien character by harnessing the symbiote’s unparalleled shapeshifting abilities and insatiable hunger. We have crafted Venom to embody the ultimate hunter, symbolizing relentless pursuit as the lethal protector soars through the chaos on symbiote-generated “webs” before charging towards prey and shattering their formations. In close-quarters combat, the symbiote can slash through enemies with melee claws or manifest tentacles to hit his enemies from a small distance, dealing devastating blows. Then, while in the throes of battle, Venom can bolster his high defenses, emerging as a formidable adversary while disrupting an entire backline of foes.

Watch the Venom trailer here

On the brighter side, Adam Warlock also arrives in Marvel Rivals, entering as a pivotal Strategist hero. Infused with Cosmic Power, Quantum Magic, and Soul Manipulation, we wanted him to skillfully and flexibly employ unbelievable healing abilities to become an indispensable force during team battles. As such, Adam Warlock has been meticulously designed to bestow powerful restorative and defensive abilities, interweaving Quantum Magic into healing currents, uniting allies’ souls to distribute damage across their bond, and coordinating his own resurrection upon defeat. You read that right, unyielding in spirit, Adam Warlock defies defeat, seamlessly shedding his soul before embracing physical rebirth within a cocoon, before swiftly returning to the fray. As a core team member, Adam possesses the extraordinary capacity to reverse the tides of battle, executing a reality-shaping rebirth with his Ultimate Ability, awakening the karma of fallen allies and remaking their bodies through Soul Manipulation and Quantum Magic, achieving remarkable resurrections and invulnerability.

Watch the Adam Warlock trailer here

With the inclusion of Venom and Adam Warlock in the CBT, get ready for the unveiling of two new electrifying Team-up Abilities:

1.”Symbiote Bond” (Venom, Spider-Man, and Peni Parker) The epic tale of Venom and the Spider-Family takes center stage, promising a fusion of their extraordinary powers as they unite. Venom shares a part of his symbiotes with Spider-Man and Peni Parker, activating their own symbiote abilities. When in danger, they can convert the symbiote into explosive spikes that inflict harm on nearby enemies and relentlessly knock them back. Simultaneously, the symbiotes’ unyielding defenses ensure enhanced survivability for the two spider-heroes, fortifying their resilience against the looming threats.

2.”Guardian Revival” (Adam Warlock, Star-Lord, and Mantis) Since joining forces with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Adam Warlock has forged an unbreakable bond with Star-Lord and Mantis. Harnessing his Quantum Magic, the golden guardian has sworn to shield his comrades. When in battle together, Adam Warlock enhances the cosmic power of both Star-Lord and Mantis, granting them the power of cocooned revival.

Hero Changes:

In response to the invaluable feedback from players during the Alpha test, we’ve implemented sweeping optimizations to our heroes in the CBT version

Vanguard
-Doctor Strange: We’ve recalibrated Doctor Strange’s damage capabilities to better resonate with his Vanguard role, enhancing his power on the front lines.

-Groot: We’ve meticulously balanced Groot’s tree wall abilities and their survivability.

-Magneto: We’ve overhauled Magneto’s ability logic, empowering him to generate magnetic barriers (Metallic Curtain) more freely, effectively neutralizing enemy assaults. Furthermore, the metal shield (Metal Bulwark) can now be self-applied, granting him greater agency on the battlefield.

-Peni Parker: We’ve fine-tuned SP//dr’s combat style, notably amplifying the left-click attack speed (Cyber-Web Cluster) to evoke the sensation of unleashing a large weapon. This adjustment will hopefully provide players with a more immersive experience when piloting the mech as Peni.

Duelist**
-Black Panther: We’ve amplified Black Panther’s prowess in wall climbing and sprinting, elevating his potential to unleash breathtaking combos. Moreover, when Black Panther triggers the Team-Up Ability with Magik, he gains the ability to summon the Limbo Disc portal at will.

-Hela: We’ve adjusted Hela’s mid to long-range capabilities, ensuring a more balanced and compelling combat experience.

-Iron Man: We’ve enhanced Iron Man’s long-range offensive capabilities, giving him more formidable suppressive power. Furthermore, the Gamma energy upgrade of his Team-Up Ability when using Armor Overdrive has been increased.

-Namor: To aid in increasing Namor’s mobility, we’ve adjusted the skill [Blessing of the Deep] so that when it is activated, Namor can freely move in the air. Also, we appropriately buffed his damage.

-The Punisher: We’ve fine-tuned the active use time of his Team-Up Ability with Rocket Raccoon. In this new rendition, each Team-Up Ability window becomes even more precious for the Punisher.

Strategist
-Loki: We’ve heightened the significance of Loki’s illusions and slightly balanced his primary form’s healing and damage capabilities. In this update, Loki will rely more heavily on his illusions to actively participate in combat, adding depth and strategy to his gameplay.

-Mantis: We’ve enriched Mantis’s ultimate ability, granting her the ability to offer enhanced survival support for the entire team by providing temporary health to already max health allies.

In addition to the above optimizations, we’ve meticulously fine-tuned the balance of each hero, ensuring that players enjoy a more refined and exhilarating combat experience during the CBT.

Moreover, in the CBT, we’ve integrated player feedback from the Alpha test to enhance tactile feedback and overall impact. During this test, heroes will undergo the following experiential optimizations:

-Ability Actions: We’ve meticulously fine-tuned each hero’s interrupt and action transitions, aiming to minimize constraints on player actions, empowering them to unleash their full potential.

-Sound and Visual Effects: Significant adjustments have been made to the sound and visual effects for ability use and impact, ensuring players can distinctly perceive the success and effectiveness of their actions during combat.

-Ability Camera and Vibration: Enhanced the in-game ability camera performance and vibration feedback to intensify the impact sensation during combat and increase immersion.

-Wall-Climbing and Collisions: We’ve optimized climbing logic and smoothed out wall collision, ensuring seamless and fluid climbing for players within the game environment.

-Crosshair Feedback and Combat HUD: We’ve optimized crosshair feedback for hits, added health bar indicators for healing and special states, and improved prompts for taking hits and impending defeat, providing players with clearer battlefield information.

Ranked Matches and Bans:

Lastly, since our announcement of the Cosmic Selection (Pick/Ban) System, we’ve further refined it and decided to introduce two version of the system for testing in heightened competitive excitement in ranked matches and tournaments:

Competitive Bans: From Diamond III rank and above, matches will feature Cosmic Selection (if all team members meet the requirement). Each team member can vote to Banish one hero to the Ban slot. The more votes a hero has, the higher possibility it will be Banished. Once a hero is Banished, neither team can select that hero for the match. (Due to the limited roster in this CBT, each team will temporarily only be able to Banish one hero.)

Tournament Bans: Cosmic Selection will be implemented in only in Tournaments. Each team will have two Banishes and one Pick, chosen by the team captain. Banished heroes cannot be selected, while Picked heroes are protected from being Banished. The sequence is: Team A Banishes one hero, Team B Banishes one hero and Picks one hero, Team A Picks one hero and then Banishes one hero, and finally, Team B Banishes one last hero.

Please note that neither of these Pick/Ban systems will be implemented in unranked nor low ranking matches. Our primary goal is for players to play their favorite hero or villain when they’re in the mood for having fun!

Language Support:

Also, one more quick note, this CBT will include multiple language options. However, due to the tight timeline, the overall quality may not be perfect. We welcome feedback from our global players and are dedicated to improving this content as we move forward. And don’t worry, we also have plans to add even more languages in the future. Thank you for your understanding and support as we continue to deliver the best experience for everyone.

We’ll have more coverage of Marvel Rivals in the coming days, so stay tuned. Expect our hands-on impressions of the console to be made available soon.

Ubisoft Not Worried About GTA 6, as Other Games Available During GTA’s Past Release Do Really Well Claims CEO

In case you haven’t been keeping up with gaming news, Take-Two Interactive is set to release Grand Theft Auto 6 next year! What that usually means is, publishers will schedule their games around Rockstar’s upcoming beast, so they can avoid going head-to-head with it. While some companies might be worried about GTA 6 gobbling up the sales, it seems that’s not an issue for Ubisoft.

In the publisher’s latest quarterly earnings call Q&A, Ubisoft was asked what they think of their games pipeline for 2025 and its competitiveness with Grand Theft Auto 6’s impending release in the same year, and whether the publisher thinks there are risks of “crowding out.”

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot doesn’t seem to worried about it, as the Ubisoft boss even claims that “other games” released during that time actually do really well, even.

What we see generally when GTA is coming is more people come to play, so generally it’s positive on the overall market. And other games that are available during that time actually do really well as well. It’s something we saw a few times already, because we had very good sales when GTA 5 came, and also when they did a remaster on the new consoles. It’s something that’s counter-intuitive but it’s working for us in general.

Guillemot might have a point. Of course, we’ll know for sure whether his theory still rings true come next year when Grand Theft Auto 6 is released and takes up all the entertainment space in the world.

In the same Q&A, Guillemot revealed that Star Wars Outlaws has the biggest marketing budget for any Ubisoft game in history.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 Closed Beta Delayed, but Here Patch Notes Highlights

In case you didn’t know, mod support is on the way for Baldur’s Gate 3 in its next major update dubbed “Patch 7” by Larian. While the patch is set to be released in September, the studio is looking to test the patch out in a closed beta, which was set to begin today. Note that I said was, as the studio confirmed that Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 has been delayed!

Long story cut short: there were bugs that prevented the beta from launching today, and for now, the beta has been pushed back to sometime next week while the added kinks are being ironed out. To help tide people over, the studio has now released the Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 changelog highlights that houses over 1,000 improvements and fixes!

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 Highlights:

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Introducing ‘Evil Endings’: Brand new cinematic endings for the truly villainous playthroughs.
  • Added our very own Mod Manager, which lets you browse, install, and use mods created by the community.
  • Revamped split screen gameplay: When playing on split screen, the two halves of the screen will now dynamically merge together when player characters come close to each other in-game, and dynamically split back up when the characters move apart. This revamp comes alongside many other improvements and polishes to improve the overall split screen experience
Honour Mode Combat
  • If Dror Ragzlin finds himself inside the spider pit, he’ll try his best to befriend the spiders residing there with a new spell called Arachnid Compulsion so they can band together to fight the real enemy – you.
  • The Bulette has a new condition called Diamond Scales and a new Legendary Action called Shredding Scales.
  • Malus Thorm has a new Legendary Action called Grasping Appendage.
  • Added a new aura and spell for Spectators: Panicked Sentinel and Ocular Nightmare, respectively.
  • Ch’r’ai Tska’an, the leader of the githyanki ambush in Act II, has a new Legendary Action called Soul Sacrifice.
  • Ch’r’ai Har’rak, the githyanki leader at the Knights of the Shield Hideout, has a new Legendary Action called Tu’narath’s Embrace.
  • Ptaris has a new Legendary Action called Ptarian Dogma.
UI
  • Revised and reorganised the in-game video options to be more logical and robust. You now have an Upscaling Type drop-down, an Upscaling Mode drop-down, and an Upscaling Sharpness slider, followed immediately by the options that are affected by them.
  • Updated the Reactions UI so that you only have to toggle the Reactions you want to use and then confirm them. (This saves you from having to select ‘Do not react’ multiple times!)
  • Added a new Equipment Options menu to the Character Sheet on controller.
  • The panel that opens to ‘Donate’ magic items to Gale will now also show items in your Traveller’s Chest. It also now indicates which items are currently equipped.
  • We noticed some of you hiccoughing bubbles, so the action for washing yourself with soap and sponges is now called ‘Use’ instead of ‘Consume’.
  • Fixed your player character’s name getting reverted to ‘Custom’ during Character Creation if you moved on to create your Dream Guardian and then went back to edit the player character again.
  • Fixed the wrong spell Ability showing up when selecting a Feat during Level Up.
Art
  • Added a new loading screen in Act III, showing the busy streets of Baldur’s Gate.
  • Fixed the skirt part of the Adamantine Splint Armour missing for female dwarves.
  • Fixed the Adamantine Scale Mail clipping on large male characters.
Gameplay
  • You can now start Custom Mode games using Honour Mode mechanics when starting a new playthrough. You’ll be able to do this via the ‘Ruleset’ dropdown.
  • The kuo-toa that promised to build you an army will now support you in the final battle. Unless they all died in Act I.
  • The help that the Gondians promised for the final battle will now arrive in the form of a friendly Steel Watcher. Apologies from Zanner Toobin for the delay.
  • The hair colour options in Character Creation will now remain accessible after you choose the bald hairstyle, so that you can continue fiddling around with eyebrow colours.
  • Overhead dialogues that support multiple player characters can now involve characters assigned to different players. (They were limited to characters controlled by a single player until now.) This means that there will be more banter among player characters in multiplayer games.
  • Group Hide will no longer affect summons that aren’t linked to the group in the Party Line.
  • Changed the behaviour for selecting camp supplies for a Long Rest. When selecting camp supplies that are stacked, the game now only takes what it needs from the stack.
  • You can no longer cheese the Leap of Faith trial at the Gauntlet of Shar by just clicking the final platform and letting your character pathfind their way there. Shar threatened to smite us if we didn’t fix this one.
  • Fixed a bug where resurrecting Lae’zel on the beach in Act I would cause her to appear in the Party Line but not in the world, preventing you from leaving Act I.
  • Patched up some savegames where Gale still had his Necrotic Aura when he shouldn’t on load.
  • Fixed Minthara’s body sometimes turning invisible on the Level Up screen. (We sorta liked the floating-head-and-hands look, but hey.)
Animation
  • Astarion now has idle animations at camp that aren’t just him reading a book.
  • Added a new idle animation for Minsc at camp – Boo may or may not have taught him some tai chi.
  • Karlach will no longer brush the shaved side of her head.
  • Polished the appearance of neck kisses in lovey-dovey scenes with Shadowheart on the Sharran path for characters with large body types and dragonborn characters.
Writing and Flow
  • Dotted some dialogue options and voiced lines into dialogues across the game to add some more overall reactivity, particularly to account for edge-case flows.
  • Dotted more Dark Urge reactivity (dialogue options and Narrator lines) into dialogues across the game.
  • Resolved an issue that had been rendering some romance party banters inaccessible while adventuring.
  • Avatar Lae’zel can now decide what she wants to do at the end of the game
after the brain is defeated even if she wasn’t the avatar making the choices in the main dialogue.
  • Added a dialogue option asking for a kiss in more paths of Wyll’s epilogue dialogue.
  • If you’re in holographic form in the epilogue, Wyll won’t automatically assume he’s talking to Lae’zel.
  • Gave Wyll a new greeting for romance partners in Act III and characters with really low approval.
  • Companions should now be more sympathetic to Astarion fleeing from the sun.
  • Added a new dialogue in which Karlach will react to Dammon if she finds him dead after he told her that he can help her.
  • Minthara will now react if you knock her out in Act I.
Scripting
  • Fixed several issues (related to resurrecting characters via Withers, restructuring the party at night, and automatic camp night scenes) that would trap you in an eternal slumber, unable to end a Long Rest.
  • Fixed a bug causing Shadowheart to keep repeating one line when you talk to her after she’s resurrected by Withers from the Shadowfell.
  • Fixed a small flow issue preventing you from commenting on Gale’s last name.
  • Fixed several occurrences of Wyll still having an exclamation mark above his head when he already told you everything he had to say.
  • When playing as the Dark Urge, Minthara will no longer act as though you accepted Bhaal when
you’ve been stripped of his influence
  • Fixed a broken kissing scene after you gave Shadowheart the Idol of Shar.
  • Fixed an issue where Jaheira would stop following the party after spending a night outside of the party.
  • Fixed the rune tablets on the nautiloid sometimes not triggering the Narrator’s lines.
  • Clerics of Lathander should now recognise his symbol on a Lathanderian amulet.
  • Ensured the avatar is prioritised as the main speaker in dialogues related to the hag’s Act I surrender.
  • Minthara does, in fact, now have something to say about Orin after you kill her.
  • Made the romance scene at night with Wyll in Act III unskippable if it triggers to avoid accidentally skipping it and not being able to finish the romance arc.
  • If Avatar Karlach and Wyll are partners and go to  the Hells together, he’ll now act accordingly during the epilogue.
  • Fixed Karlach’s scene in Avernus  not playing if you decided to go with her when playing as Wyll.
  • A bug has been fixed so that Wyll will now talk to his father if Ansur is defeated  after the pact with Mizora is broken but Ravengard is saved from the Iron Throne  despite this, to decide on his title.
  • Lae’zel will now wait a little longer for you at the site of her recruitment if you tell her you’ll be back.
  • Improved Lae’zel’s idle camp behaviours to align a bit better with the other companions’.
  • Fixed the fade-to-black after Karlach’s scene in Avernus at the end of the game, which would give you a very brief glimpse of Game Developer Land.
  • Breaking up with Karlach by speaking with another companion you’re dating the morning after her romance scene won’t block her dialogue anymore.
  • Reinstated Gale’s last line in his detailed explanation of ceremorphosis and tweaked a dialogue option to react to it.
  • Now that you can give Gale magic items from the Traveller’s Chest, he will leave again if you refuse to do so.
  • Patched up some savegames that had a bug that would prevent the dialogue between Gale and Mystra at the end of the game from triggering.
  • Fixed a bug that let you kiss Gale even if he was in a disguised form before confronting  the Netherbrain.  Also fixed this dialogue with him cutting off before you could give him a smooch.
  • Reworked the script that determines whether a character is too busy to talk. This will prevent bugs like Minthara’s dialogue not triggering at Moonrise Towers after you rescue her, and knock-on effects as a result of this, like not being able to rest or fast travel.
Performance
  • Continued to make performance and stability optimisations across the game and implemented many under-the-hood code fixes.
  • Optimised performance. This will have a more noticeable impact in areas with large numbers of NPCs (like the Lower City) and will reduce peak memory usage when loading levels for the first time. It will also be noticeable when managing lots of loot (e.g. when transferring everything from a camp chest to a character’s inventory).

Cinematics

  • Reworked and revamped the cutscene that plays when you interact with Ansur’s bones in the Wyrmway.
  • Polished facial expressions and emotions across companion dialogues, including to the facial animations of your character during some kissing cinematics, including with the Vampire Lord Astarion.

Note that Larian doesn’t tag this as the official patch notes, so there is a chance more fixes and improvements are included in the list once it’s released to the game’s retail build.

Digital Extremes Talks Warframe and Soulframe at TennoCon 2024 – Interview About Weapons, Cycles and Zones

While TennoCon 2024 is now over, Warframe fans have a lot of stuff to look forward to. Not only are we getting Warframe: 1999 sometime this year, but there’s even a meaty title update out in August. Of course, there’s also Soulframe to look forward to as well. Before TennoCon started, we had the chance to sit down and talk to Digital Extremes about Warframe: 1999 and Soulframe.

Answering the questions are:

  • Megan Everett – Community Director of Warframe)
  • Steve Sinclair CEO of Digital Extremes
  • Rebecca Ford – Creative Director of Warframe
  • Sarah Asselin – Community Manager Soulframe
  • Geoff Crookes – Creative Director of Soulframe

You should also check out our preview of Warframe: 1999 here to see why we’re very impressed with what Digital Extremes has crafted so far.

Digital Extremes Warframe: 1999 and Soulframe Interview at TennoCon 2024:

Q: Steve mentioned Soulframe featuring a large overworld. How large compared to Warframe Open Zone Worlds?

A: The starting island is twice as big as the Plains of Eidolon.  There you go. Twice as big. Soulframe is two times bigger than Warframe.  The reason we’re kind of avoiding the open world word is that we’re spending a lot more time on density. If you’re in Preludes, Preludes 5 just dropped, a whole bunch of  activities and that sort of thing, which is a new system that we just put in.

You’d be wandering around, and then there’ll be almost like a mini quest,  There’s a Banneret there! Or there’s some cute little beavers that need to be rescued, and so on. That’s how that works.

Q: The character’s name is Cyte-09, as in Technocyte? (Warframe Question)

A: You better believe it! You better believe it! You better believe it.  Someone made the connection. Not subtle.

Q: Can we take the bike to the Plains of Eidolon?

A: Yes, you can take it to other open zones. The Atomicycle will be summonable in all open zones.

Q: If people are intrigued by 1999 but haven’t played Warframe yet, how accessible will this campaign be?

A: We are polishing the new player experience hopefully to launch with this. It will be in the chronology of the story after Whispers in the Wall. We’re thinking of ways to get players in a little early, but we’re not sure exactly what we’re going to commit to yet. But we would encourage, if you’re even remotely intrigued by 1999,  we will try and have a preview for players, but also,  start playing now. Warframe’s free. Get through the story.

Q: Can you bring 1999 weapons into the Origin System 2?

A: Yes, you can. In the Railjack segment you saw Excalibur using the AX 52 and a special sidearm. It’s going to be integrated into the main game fully.

What you saw was the HEX playable prologue.  Wherein at some point everything will be connected. The AX 52 that you get as a Twitch drop, you can obviously just play it in the game.

Q: Will the atomicycles be modular vehicles like past ones?

A: No, they are a way to get around 1999 and open worlds. They’re not going to be modular, we’re making them more of a cosmetic and characteristic thing rather than, you have an engine from so and so and a chassis from someone else to build your own.

It’s very much pick your skin, pick your cosmetics, and zoom around. But you can customize the colors and stuff, right? Of course, there’s even a pizza. Can’t wait for that. There’s a pizza, Mine’s gonna be hot pink, and green, and blue, K. O. L., and pizza. Well, there’s a little pizza sticker.

Q: Can you play 1999 as a standalone story, and do you see it as a good in for newer or lapsed players?

A: Currently, it is a continuation of Warframe’s now colossal and awesome campaign. You wouldn’t really be able to get into it without playing everything that came before it.

It’s a direct chronological reason to continue the story. I’ll say right now. It’s intended to be that, if you played whispers in the walls, you can see how it is  deeply intertwined with what we set up in the new era of Warframe.

Q: You said Soulframe would be in some form of early access later this year. Can you provide a bit more details? Beta? Alpha?

A: We are building this game with the community, much like we did for Warframe.

We don’t have any new tricks, we’re just going to use that old trick. Preludes is going to be opened up to everyone we expect in this kind of fall time frame.  It does give me heart palpitations to say that’s our intention.

You don’t have to pay to get in. It won’t be like a gated thing at all. Just to set expectations, we probably will have a few paid things early on that are kind of like founders smelling kind of supporting things, so you can get early on. We’ll talk more about that at TennoCon.

It’s going to be really cool. But we’re also exploring ways to make it way less exclusive than Warframe founders ended up being. Excalibur Prime says hi. Tune into TennoCon, you’ll see.

Q: How many different equipment spots are there in Soulframe? (ie. Body, Arms, Lower Body, Helmet, etc.)

A: Idol, Pact, Helm, Cura, leggings, Weapon. Right now there’s just primary impact and idol.Sarah,   Spawned it when she killed the enemy already. Each pact comes with its own unique idol, and those idols are kind of like the weapons that have to charge up to be activated. They are swappable with different pacts.

Play as a caster that has a lightning cannon, for example.  If you want to kind of mix up your builds in that way.

There has been talk to explore how to do primary secondary, but right now, we’re still kind of playing with that. Loadout.

Q: Will these infested liches come with their own selection of lich weapons you can unlock in 1999?

A: Yes, you’ll get a whole bunch of them. We will be giving you a series of technocyte weapons to grind out. Just like the Kuva Liches have Kuva weapons, the Sisters of Parvos have Tenet weapons, there is now going to be an infested series of weapons for you to earn and play.

Q: Soulframe, will ranged weapons be a main able thing in Soulframe, or is it a more balanced around melee?

A: We actually had a bit of a conflict about what to show today, because we had the Fabo, Idol, but we have a bow and arrow set that is, a primary weapon, and it’s pretty cool, so instead of the mechanic where you throw your sword and call it back, that swaps to firing arrows, and then the bow and an off handed arrow function as a melee weapon for close range combat.

It has pretty rad finishers as well.

Q: Will these new Warframe 1999 music tracks be coming to Spotify?

A: Party of Your Lifetime, will be fully released after TennoCon and TennoLive. You’ll be hearing a lot more from online leading up to the 1999 launch this winter. Stay tuned for Party of Your Lifetime, meet the band, Zeke, Packet, drill bit, hard drive.

Q: Obviously 1999 is a very different feel for Warframe of high sci-fi. How has it been to make sure it still has that Warframe vibe in a more grounded setting?

A: That has been a key pillar. Like we really want it to feel like Warframe in 1999.

So what is Warframe? Super fast, bring all your gear, and run around and kill things really quickly. We really thought that 1999 would be a fun change of scenery, so to speak, but we wanted to go all in and make it authentic. It is a procedural world for us, where we’re building all these very era appropriate, but other earth versions of a world that seems familiar.

The vibe of keeping it grounded is iterative for us. We’re really trying to make sure that the enemies And the density of them will feel Warframe, and of course, when the update itself launches, you’ll see just how deep the rabbit hole goes for how much Warframe you can bring there. The vibe, I think it really just comes down to like, the team has worked together for so long, we kind of know what core Warframe should feel like, and what you saw today is a piece of a very long quest.

So that was just the HEX version of the quest, the mission that allows you to meet these six proto frames and where you come into the story, you’ll certainly begin to recognize just how dense the 1999 content is.

Q: Will Soulframe have a similar mastery rank progression system as Warframe, or are you keeping things a little bit more traditional RPG?

A: It actually does have a very similar mastery rank system. You have your envoy, which is your character, and then you have your pact, which is your cursed armor.

Your pact is a class that you can level up. And then, for every pact you level up, your envoy gains a level. And then they have three RPG stats, that are what we call the virtues.

And that feeds back into the system as well. So it’s a kind of almost like the focus school of the operator meets mastery rank.

Warframe 1999 Preview

Q: Will the 1999 quest be as long as the New War and will it lock you out of other content until you beat it in the same way?

A: We are currently not intending to lock you out. Lengthwise, New War we clocked in at about I think four and a half to five hours.

It’s actually a little longer if you take all aggregated playtime. I don’t think it’s going to be that long. I don’t want to put a time on it yet because it’s not finished. So I don’t know. But I know how long we intend it to be, but I don’t want to say just yet.

Q: The term soul has a bit of a preconceived notion attached to it these days. Do you worry about people who aren’t familiar with Warframe’s model going into the game expecting a soul’s-like for Soulframe?

A: We had a pretty,  internal battle. About Committing to that name for that very reason. It just hit the themes that we want to explore so well. We want to really kind of lean into the sister project of Warframe. Which is why the frame is there.

It had to be something frame.  Iit is something we are very mindful of.

Q: Will the 1999 Syndicate be a similar scale progression to something like Fortuna and Trotty, etc.

A: That is our intention, but of course there’s an entire romance system on as well, so. Which is optional, you can be friends too. Friends you can kiss. Or you can kiss. Up to you. New Years.

College Football 25 Known Issues as of July 22 Listed

Following a breakout launch for EA Sports College Football 25, it seems there’s been a number of issues bothering players since launch. Fortunately, the devs are aware of it, and have confirmed that updates are in the works. For those who want to know just what problems EA is looking at, read on for the College Football 25 known issues.

College Football 25 Known Issues (as of July 22, 2024);

Note that it doesn’t mean if an issue isn’t listed above, that it isn’t being worked on. Rather, these are just the pressing problems the dev team classifies as big ticket items.

We are expecting a patch to be released as soon as this week, and once we know more, we’ll let our readers know.
