No Rest for the Wicked “Together” Co-op Update Out Next Week

Moon Studios (Ori Series) is about to hit a major early access milestone with No Rest for the Wicked, as its next big update, due next week, is set to introduce co-operative play. 

The world of Isola Sacra is a harsh one, but at least you soon won’t have to suffer it alone. 

No Rest for the Wicked: Next Major Update Brings Co-op and Persistent Shared Worlds

The world of Isola Sacra is about to get a whole lot better, as the next major update for No Rest for the Wicked, arriving on January 22, is adding co-op for early access owners. Dubbed the “Together” update, soon players will be able to team up with three friends (a total of four players) in order to combat the harsh world of Isola Sacra. 

But this isn’t just your everyday co-op update where you can join along a friend and help them progress. No, this update comes loaded with changes in order to account for the increased player count, as well as persistent Realms that won’t require the host to be online. 

“No Rest for the Wicked Together reimagines traditional co-op multiplayer play of current ARPGs and MMORPGS, allowing up to four players to share a free, persistent Realm without the need for a host to be online.” The press release stated, “Shared upgrades to No Rest’s soulslike combat let enemies react naturally (and desperately) to being cornered or outnumbered, and new hand-picked enemy locations means plenty of new surprises. Players can work together during downtime to share and build housing, visit newly reworked vendors, and employ a simple voting system to keep fellow players from causing too much chaos. In addition to all the co-op multiplayer features, this latest update brings numerous quality-of-life updates to No Rest for the Wicked.”

No Rest for the Wicked Together update arrives on January 22, 2026, for PC. No news on when the game is exiting its early access, though no doubt this update is a major milestone leading to it. Hopefully, once we get there, we’ll get some news on a possible console release.

God of War TV Series Has Found Its Kratos

Sony and Amazon have officially announced the actor who will play Kratos in the upcoming God of War TV series: Ryan Hurst. He is best known for his role as Opie Winston in Sons of Anarchy.

Born in 1976 in Santa Monica, California, Hurst already has a connection to the PlayStation franchise, he provided both the voice and face for Thor in God of War: Ragnarok. From his origins to his past collaboration with Sony, it almost seems like he was destined for this role.

In some recent photos, Hurst appears completely bald, perhaps a sign that he has already started getting ready for his role as Kratos.

This announcement of Ryan Hurst comes just days after the reveal of two other key cast members: Max Parker as Baldur and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson as Thor.

Following the massive success of The Last of Us TV series, which will feature Abby as the lead in its third season, expectations for the God of War adaptation are understandably high.

However, adapting God of War is expected to be more challenging. Its unique setting and heavy reliance on visual effects mean the production will likely require a significant budget to bring Kratos’ mythological world to life.

In other news, new screenshots show what the cancelled God of War multiplayer game could have been, with Greek temples, Hades’ Armory, and early gameplay designs. The most recent God of War game released, God of War Ragnarok, has also been updated today on PS5.

Rumor: Forza Horizon 6 Release Date Leaks

It looks like Xbox and Playground Games are gearing up to release the next iteration of the long-running Forza Horizon series, Forza Horizon 6, much sooner than expected, as a new leak has seemingly confirmed its release date.

This leak comes ahead of the planned Xbox Developer Direct next week, where Xbox is planning to showcase its first real look at the title.

Forza Horizon 6 Release Date Set for May 19, 2026

It seems that Playground Games has prematurely revealed the release date for Forza Horizon 6 ahead of next week’s showcase, as a new pop-up (captured by Twitter user XBOXF10) has begun appearing in Forza Horizon 5, telling players that Forza Horizon 6 is now available for pre-order.

In the pop-up, it details some of the content included in the pre-order, as well as a planned Premium Edition that grants 4 days of early access starting May 15. This means the full launch is scheduled for May 19, 2026! That’s just a few months away, which is definitely a lot sooner than many expected.

Announced at Tokyo Game Show last year, Forza Horizon 6 is set to take place in Japan, a first for the series. Although we’ve yet to see any gameplay, the title has generated significant excitement given its setting, with many hoping the studio leans heavily on Japan’s long history of cars.

I’m pretty excited to see how Playground Games tackles the new setting, and I’m hoping they not only capture the beauty of Japan but also the very history of car culture that some of us grew up watching in the 80s and 90s.

Forza Horizon 6 is currently rumored to release on May 19, 2026, on the Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with the PS5 release to follow sometime after. Tune into the Xbox Developer Direct next week for our first look at the title, as well as a fresh look at Fable, and Game Freak’s new IP, Beast of Reincarnation.

Verizon Services Down on January 14 as Reports Flood In

If you’re using Verizon, you’re in for a bad day, as the company’s services (internet and mobile) are having issues today, January 14, 2026.

This is an unexpected outage that appears to be affecting many people today. So if you’ve encountered issues, it’s not just you.

On Downdetector, over 460,000 user reports have been submitted regarding the outage. Thankfully, the company is aware of the issues and have made the following statement, “We are aware of an issue impacting wireless voice and data services for some customers. Our engineers are engaged and are working to identify and solve the issue quickly. We understand how important reliable connectivity is and apologize for the inconvenience.”

Adding to that, the company said their engineers are working on it, “Verizon engineering teams are continuing to address today’s service interruptions. Our teams remain fully deployed and are focused on the issue. We understand the impact this has on your day and remain committed to resolving this as quickly as possible.”

No word yet on how long this outage will take, but we’re monitoring the situation, and if we get another update from Verizon, we’ll add it to the article via an update. God of War Ragnarok Update 6.006 Released for Power Save Feature

Heads up, God of War fans! For those still playing Ragnarok, Sony Santa Monica has released a new title update for the PS5 version of the game, and this applies one of the newest system features introduced last year.

PS5 owners will see the download appear as God of War Ragnarok update 6.006 (complete version 6.006.000), and this slots int he Power Save feature that was introduced in 2025, and promised to be integrated in some of Sony’s first-party titles.

The official word from Santa Monica Studio reads:

  • Adds compatibility for Power Saver mode on PS5 and PS5 Pro.

Before this, the latest major update we received was for the game’s 20th anniversary, which introduced a new armor set and more.

For those unfamiliar with the Power Save feature, it was introduced via a system update in September 2025. Console owners can toggle it on via the following:

  • You can now turn on power saver for supported PS5 games. When using power saver, you can scale back performance as needed to reduce power consumption.
    • You can adjust this in Settings > System > Power Saving > Use Power Saver. You can turn this on or off for each supported game.
    • When power saver is on, and a game supporting power saver is active, an icon appears next to the game in Switcher in the control center.

While we’re not expecting anything major when it comes to Ragnarok’s updates, stranger things have happened.

No word yet whether we’ll see Kratos’ next adventure take place in Norse mythology once more, though we did manage to unearth a look at the cancelled God of War multiplayer game by Bluepoint.

Battlefield 6 Caused Call of Duty Sales to Plummet 60%, Says Ex-Activision CEO

Former Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has shared his opinion on the recent performance of Call of Duty titles, as it has fallen far below the company’s expectations.

According to Bobby Kotick, sales of Call of Duty may have dropped by as much as 60% due to the growing competition from other major first-person shooters, including Battlefield 6.

As reported by GameFile, Kotick made the comment during a 2022 court case brought by a Swedish pension fund against Activision Blizzard. The lawsuit claims that the former CEO rushed the company’s sale in an effort to distance himself from the sexual harassment scandal that involved him directly.

Kotick explained that Activision Blizzard’s performance over the past year has been “well below” its long-term goals, mainly because of a sharp decline in Call of Duty sales compared to 2024.

In his view, this drop is the result of increasingly strong competition in the multiplayer shooter market, with Battlefield 6 cited as a direct example. He also stated that this situation contradicts one of the main arguments made by the FTC against Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard — namely, that Call of Duty had supposedly achieved a near-monopoly status due to a lack of competition in the first-person shooter genre.

Bobby Kotick led Activision from 1991 and oversaw its merger with Blizzard in 2008, transforming the company into one of the biggest names in the gaming industry, thanks to the success of series like Call of Duty and World of Warcraft.

However, his leadership was also marked by controversy over workplace culture and internal harassment allegations. Kotick left Activision Blizzard at the end of 2023, though he continued to advise management until April 2024, shortly after Microsoft completed its acquisition of the company.

MP1st’s review of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 gave it a score of 7.5 out of 10, stating, “Although the campaign is a disappointing mess, Call of Duty Black Ops 7 is overall, a solid Call of Duty experience, that builds upon, and refines its previous installment. From a multiplayer point of view, it is, in everyway, a better game than Black Ops 6.”

Apex Legends New Update on January 14 Applies Legend Adjustments via Patch 3.01/1.000.115

Respawn has released the first client-side patch for Apex Legends this year, and it brings in more than bug fixes, as a significant amount of legend changes have been made too.

Players will see this download appear as Apex Legends update 3.01/1.000.115, and is now available on consoles and PC.

Apex Legends Receives First Update of 2026 on January 14

Here’s what’s new in today’s update via Respawn:

Crypto:
– Crypto’s drone is no longer displayed for a fraction of a second when deploying the drone on a zipline, balloon or Evac Tower.
– The appropriate ultimate icon is now displayed while in Crypto’s drone view after selecting the Power Coupling upgrade.
– Crypto’s hands no longer remain stuck in front of the camera after taking damage from a Caustic trap while in Drone view.
– Players are no longer able to spam the drone entering animation.
– Crypto’s Ult now appropriately charges from scanning enemies, even if they remain within the scan.

Octane:
– Stim Surge’s animation now ends in alignment with the end of its effects – previously was misaligned when at low health with the Daredevil upgrade.
– Stim Surge’s animation now ends in alignment with the end of its effects when taking damage in the ring.
– Base Stim model no longer overlaps with the Stim Surge Syringe.
– Players are no longer able to spam Octane’s tactical when riding ziplines or ziprails with akimbo weapons equipped.
– Removed ghostly green bar that appeared when Octane performed two-handed actions while using Stim Surge.
– When activating Stim Surge while climbing, the correct model is displayed and players will no longer be locked out of using Stim Surge.

Trident:
– Increased the volume of approaching Trident – it should be much more difficult to be caught by surprise.
– Caustics traps no longer attach to the Trident – it was way too deadly.
– Valkyrie no longer gets stuck in ultimate animation when interrupted by a Trident.

New Player Pass:
– Level up animation now display the correct level.

Various:
– The post-game progress screen no longer displays old challenges.
– Various fixes/adjustments to Switch 2 shadow/lighting.
– Fixed a boot crash on some Nvidia machines.

Code Violet Update 1.000.026 Adds New Settings, Enhanced Hit Reaction Visuals

Following the first update for Code Violet released four days ago, TeamKill Media is back with another new patch on January 14.

Players will see this download appear as Code Violet update 1.000.026, and aside from applying bug fixes, this also improves hit reaction visuals, and even adds new settings like Film Grain and more.

Battlefield 6 Season 2 Starts Feb. 17; First Season Extended

With Battlefield 6’s Season 1 seeing its last content drop in December via the Winter Offensive patch, most assumed (including me) that Season 2 would start sometime in January 2026.

Apparently, that’s not happening, as publisher Electronic Arts announced that Season 2 will kick off on February 17, 2026. Disappointed? You’re not the only one.

To make up for it, DICE has announced that Season 1 has been extended with some new stuff, though I’m unsure if the player base will see it as a sufficient placeholder.

Battlefield 6 Season 2 Delayed

According to EA, Battlefield 6 Season 2’s “extended launch has been implemented to allow extra time to further develop and refine Season 2 as a result of community feedback.”

As for the extension of Season 1, both Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC will include new weekly challenges, a Bonus Path, and a continuation of the Season 1 Battle Pass.

Available on January 27, the Frostline Bonus Path will give players the chance to unlock new free and premium customization rewards, which include a Weapon Package and a Soldier Skin, as well as XP Boosts. Premium Tier Rewards will require purchase of the Season 1 Battle Pass.

There will be free rewards from the Frostline Bonus Path, which will include Hardware XP Boost, a Vehicle Skin and playercard customization items, while Battle Pass owners can grab a new Weapon Package, a Career XP Boost and additional customization items.

Battlefield Studios will also be celebrating Valentine’s Day. Another set of Daily Login Rewards will be introduced, alongside several Double XP Weekends throughout the update period.

Expect a patch housing fixes and improvements to be released alongside the Season 1 extension, with the patch notes set to be available at a later date.

While Season 2 details have not been officially revealed, a datamine suggests we’ll see a new vehicle and weapons being released as part of the upcoming season.

The Sims 4 Update 2.26 Implements Top Voted Community Concerns

Maxis has released the first-ever The Sims 4 update of 2026, and this applies the Coach Collection, bug fixes, save corruption bug squashes and more.

Console gamers will see the patch appear as The Sims 4 update 2.26, with the complete patch notes available below.

The patcch notes are a lot longer than what we’re used to, so expect a long read.

What’s New?

Coach Collection

The Coach Collection, featuring nine new items, drops for free in The Sims 4. Give your Sims the style upgrade you didn’t see coming.

Expect bold statement pieces, wearable staples, and iconic decor with that signature Coach polish, bringing everyday luxury to Create a Sim and Build Mode. Learn more in The Sims newsroom.

Bug Fixes

Top 5 Most Voted Fixes:

  • [EA Forums] We addressed the top reported issue: Server Error while Uploading to Gallery/Library. This was primarily a Console issue but could occur with PC. (Base Game)
    • This error is a valid error that should occur under certain circumstances, but we fixed the flow so that it is more forgiving to player systems and far less likely to occur. The Upload button will not be available until all thumbnail issues have been generated.
    • When this error does occur, we have updated the generic “Server Error” message, and players will now receive a dialogue that provides more information and says “Time out during upload. Please check internet connection or try again in a minute.”
  • [EA Forums] In our 12/2/25 Update, we fixed an issue where Child, Teen, Young Adult, Adult, and Elder Sims no longer had clothing visible under their privacy mosaic. We are now addressing this issue for the remaining age groups, fully resolving the issue. (Base Game)
  • [EA Forums] We fixed a notable instance of Sims standing around and not caring for their infants. While holding Infants, Sims were playing an idle animation that delayed responsiveness to queued interactions. This idle was removed. Save Corruption

As part of our ongoing efforts to address Save Corruption, we have two Save Corruption bugs that we’re addressing in this patch.

  • [EA Forums] We fixed an issue where open street objects were being ‘shelved’ and never removed when traveling to an apartment building. (Multiple Packs)
  • We fixed a case of Save Corruption where the player could become stuck in an endless load or be returned to Manage World after setting a custom venue’s schedule to include a Romantic Orientation Role criteria. (Adventure Awaits)

Photos/Paintings Losing Data

For this patch, we knew that “Memorial Portraits and Graduation Photos no longer displaying a Sim’s image” was a top community concern. We wanted to address as many bugs in this category as we could. Here are all related issues we fixed:

  • [EA Forums] Paint by Reference Paintings will no longer turn white after they’ve been put in a Sim’s inventory and the game has been relaunched. This fix is retroactive and should be fixed in previous saves where it occurred. (Base Game)
  • [EA Forums] Photos captured with Phone/Camera will no longer turn black once they’ve been mounted on a wall and the game is relaunched. This fix is not retroactive and will not address instances where photos were already missing data, but the fix will prevent this from happening in the future (even in old saves). (Base Game)
  • [EA Forums] Photos captured with Phone/Camera will no longer turn black once they’ve been put in Sim’s Inventory or placed in storage chests and the game is relaunched. This fix is not retroactive and will not address instances where photos were already missing data, but the fix will prevent this from happening in the future (even in old saves).  (Base Game)
  • [EA Forums] The “Create Copy” interaction on a painting no longer will result in a blank, white painting canvas when placed on the wall.  This fix is retroactive and should be fixed in previous saves where it occurred. (Base Game)

General Bug Fixes

The Sims 4 Update 1.89

Base Game

  • [EA Forums] We addressed a rather significant issue where Away Actions at work were causing Sims to never receive Need gains while at work or school due to a change that was made during Adventure Awaits to how Away Actions at work function.
    • We fixed an additional bug pertaining to this where Toddler and Infant Needs will now increase while at Daycare properly. Bladder, Hunger, Energy, and Attention should receive large increases, Fun a small but tapering increase, and Hygiene no increase.
  • [EA Forums] We addressed an issue where the “Fight” interaction was available on all Sims, even if they had a positive relationship. Now, it should only appear if the Sims have a negative relationship.

Seasons

  • [EA Forums] Sims will no longer sometimes die of overheating while wearing the correct clothing. Blame the ghosts: this bug was due to the Overheating Ghost type and the aura they emanate.
  • [EA Forums] In a previous patch we addressed an issue where sand sculptures were auto-generating on beaches when it rained a lot. We’re submitting the remaining portions of this fix to ensure it’s now fully fixed in all cases.

Growing Together

  • [EA Forums] We’ve addressed an issue where it was difficult to unlock the Pull to Stand Milestone. The problem is that Infants need to be near certain specific objects to pull themselves up for the first time, but this is never indicated to the player and sometimes infants aren’t located near these objects. They can still unlock this Milestone as they could previously, but to address the concerns with this not being obvious in many cases, we’ve added a greyed out interaction and hovertip that directs the player to place the Infant in the Crib. While in the crib, the Infant can pull themselves to a stand, and (as an additional option) we’ve added a new interaction to Infant Sims in the crib to pull themselves up once they are ready to unlock the Milestone. This interaction is available on the Infant Sim when the Infant is the Active Sim.

Business & Hobbies

  • [EA Forums] We fixed an issue where Small Business Employees were leaving early (only 2-3 hours after opening) if a business was 5-Star and selected customer criteria was supervised customer only. Now, all hired employees should stay on a small business lot while it is open.

Adventure Awaits

  • [EA Forums] (yfTop_EP20VNeckTee) no longer has a visible seam on the shoulder when worn by Sims downloaded from the Gallery.
  • [EA Forums] Imaginary Friends will no longer reset and disappear from the Relationship Panel after returning from another lot.
  • [EA Forums] Custom Venues will now save Roles and Schedules with a custom role containing a Romantic Orientation criteria. This issue was resulting in a case of Save Corruption as well that was addressed and is noted above in that section.

Werewolves

  • [EA Forums] We fixed an issue where Werewolf offspring of Werewolves had black textures and no pelts upon aging to Teen. Our fix should apply a texture to any Werewolf Sim who is lacking one upon entering CAS and should address old instances of this occurring.

Multiple

  • [EA Forums] We fixed all reports of the camera being obstructed by trees in Gallery preview views of lots.
  • [EA Forums] Maids and Butlers will now once again try to mop puddles instead of vacuuming them fruitlessly for hours. We assure you they were trying their best, and we appreciate your patience with them.

CAS & Build Mode Tagging Updates

The Sims 4 Update 1.82

We had the opportunity to address a large swath of simpler tagging bugs, making CAS and Build Mode sorting more accurate overall. The Lump of Clay (Base Game) and Stack ‘o Books (Cats & Dogs) objects also acquired some new gameplay functionality. Here are related issues we fixed:

Base Game

  • Lump of Clay now sorts as a Kids Activity and also sorts in the Creative Skills Section. It has also been updated to provide Creativity Skill gain for Children Sims.
  • The In Full Bloom Centerpiece is now sorted as an Indoor Plant.
  • Wedding Pillar with Floral Basket is now sorted as an Indoor Plant.
  • (sitDining_EF07IRN02), (sitDiningIRN_01), and (SitDiningGENChess) now sort under Outdoor Seating and will filter for Park venues.
  • The Men’s Shoe Rack and Women’s Show Rack objects now sort under the Storage Misc Category.
  • The Bonsai Tree now sorts as an Indoor Plant.
  • PenguinVision Children’s Television Set now sorts as a Kids Activity.
  • (yfHair_EP08BraidedPonyTail)  now sorts as Afro-Textured.
  • (cfHair_SP10ShortPinCurlLoose) now sorts as Wavy.

  • All makeup from Goth Galore  will now appear for Cold and Hot Weather Outfits as an option.

Autumn Apparel

Changelogs for Modders

As part of this update, we’ve tested adding a dedicated change log for mod authors directly within the patch notes. This section below highlights technical changes that may affect mods, including updates to tuning, scripting, data structures, and supported workflows. The goal is to help mod authors quickly understand what’s changed, evaluate potential impacts, and update their work with confidence. We’d really value feedback from the modding community – what’s clear, what’s missing, and what would make this more useful.

Hell Is Us Version 1.5 Adds New Features via Console Update 1.007

Rogue Factor has released Hell Is Us version 1.5, and this adds a slew of new features and bug fixes on all platforms. Console gamers will see this appear as Hell Is Us update 1.007 (complete version 1.007.000), and this also includes PS5 and PC-specific fixes.

Publisher Nacon has also rolled out a way to connect the game to MyNacon account, and doing so will snag you a sweet freebie.

Destiny 2 Down on January 13 for Update 9.5.0.5

Bungie has taken the Destiny 2 servers down for the first time this 2026, and it’s for maintenance for update 9.5.0.5, which is expected to roll out today on all platforms.

Expect the game’s servers to be unavailable for a few hours, which is par for the course when it comes to rolling out updates for the looter shooter.

ARC Raiders New Update 1.11.0 Brings Balance Changes to Trigger ‘Nade and Kettle via Patch 1.000.017

The first patch of the year for ARC Raiders is live, and this brings the game to version 1.11.0! This brings the Abyss comsetic set, as well as balance changes to the Trigger Grenade and more.

Console gamers will see this download appear as ARC Raiders update 1.000.017, and this also brings a fix to an exploit.

ARC Raiders New Update Released on January 13 Brings Balance Changes via Version 1.000.017

ARC Raiders New Update 1.3.0

  • Kettle
    • Dev note: Reduced fire rate from 600 to 450. The previous fire rate was only realistically reachable by players using macros, which creates an unfair dynamic that favours using 3rd party software
  • Trigger ‘Nade
    • Dev note: Trigger ‘Nade currently dominates PVP encounters, and players favour picking it over all our other grenades. This nerf aims to make it less usable as a “trigger-in-air” grenade, whilst keeping its usefulness as a sticky bomb. Damage falloff has been rebalanced to concentrate the damage closer to the center of the explosion, and deal less damage further away. The delay between triggering the grenade and it detonating, has been increased from 0.7s to 1.5s, giving players more time to react, and making it harder to time the detonation in air.
  • Fixed a key card exploit that allowed players to keep room keys after using them.
  • Lighting has been lowered in some areas on Stella Montis Night Raid making flashlights and listening more relevant.

Aside from the update, another thing to look forward to is a freebie item available today for a limited time. This is a “Thank You” gift from Embark for ARC Raiders surpassing 12 million players, which is an insane number for any game, especially for a new IP in the shooter space.

We should be getting more updates within the month, as Embark has also promised updates to anti-cheat and other exploits.

Black Myth Wukong New Update 1.000.021 Fixes Screen Tearing and Other Issues

Game Science has pushed out Black Myth Wukong update 1.000.021 on consoles and PC, and this brings various technical fixes. Those on Steam, this patch will be for download tomorrow, January 14.

Don’t expect any new content, as this patch is solely aimed at fixing various issues on both consoles and PC.

ARC Raiders Surpasses 12 Million Players; Embark Gives Out Gift as a Thank You

It’s no secret by now that Embark’s ARC Raiders is a massive success for the studio and publisher Nexon, but no one would have guessed it would explode this much.

Embark has announced that the extraction shooter has now surpassed 12 million across all platforms!

To show their appreciation, Embark is giving players a “Thank You” gift for a limited time.

ARC Raiders Crosses Over 12M Players and Players Given a Free Gift

In a press release, Embark has announced that ARC Raiders has surpassed 12 million players across all platforms. Executive Producer of ARC Raiders at Embark Studios, Aleksander Grøndal, made the following statement, “Reaching 12 million downloads is a milestone we owe entirely to the players. The community of Raiders has helped shape this game from the very beginning, and their passion, feedback, and ingenuity continue to guide how we build, support, and grow this world for the long term.”

The press release mentions this milestone, “reflects sustained growth driven by regular updates, technical refinements, and Embark’s long-term commitment to a fair, competitive, and rewarding experience.”

As a “Thank You,” Embark is giving players the Gilded Pickaxe Raider Tool for free for a limited time!

How to Claim the Milestone Reward

Any player who has logged onto the game at least once since launch will receive the gift to their in-game inbox on January 13 at 11:00 CET. If you’ve not played yet, make sure you boot up before 23.59 CET on January 13 to get your Gilded Pickaxe Raider Tool.

In terms of what’s to come. Embark has said it will issue an anti-cheat update in the “coming weeks,” which we assume will be rolled out alongside other gameplay improvements. Once that’s live, expect it here on the site.

Ark Survival Ascended New Update 1.078.004 Applies Fixes to Various Gameplay Issues

Studio Wildcard has released Ark Survival Ascended update 1.078.004 (version 78.5 on PC), and this applies a significant amount of balance changes for resource caches, the Fabricated Crossbow, and more.

For PC gamers, the client version will be v78.0, though you’ll see v88.5 on the start screen.

  • Resource Caches:
    • Reduced wave count from 5 to 3
    • Removed Neophytes
    • Increase XP awarded from spawned enemies by 5x
    • Restore 20% health to the Resource Cache after completing each wave
    • Increased the chances of getting Artic Armor/Fabricated Weaponry
  • Ossidon:
    • During Taming, Wild Ossidon heals back to 100% after dismounting the player
    • Ossidon’s taming time limit and num icicles/dino’s required now scales with taming speed multiplier config
  • Fabricated Crossbow:
    • Increased Fabricated Crossbow damage in Sniper mode by 33%

The First Switch and Switch 2 Update 21.2.0 of 2026 Is Now Out

Nintendo has released the first Switch and Switch 2 system update of 2026, and it’s a minor one that doesn’t house any new features, which is understandable given it is the first system patch of the year.

Expect both downloads to be on the small side, which should be good news for console owners.

Switch, Switch 2 First Update of 2026 Brings It to Version 2.1.2.0

For both consoles, the changelog is as follows:

  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.

The December 2025 system update also applied the same fixes, though the November update did roll out fixes for error codes and the like:

  • Fixed an issue where Error Code: 2011-0301 or Error Code: 2168-0002 would repeatedly occur on a Nintendo Switch when attempting a system transfer using local communication from a Nintendo Switch system to a Nintendo Switch 2 system.
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes, after waking up the system from Sleep Mode or turning off Airplane Mode, wireless controllers or Bluetooth audio devices were unable to connect.
  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.

Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted Update 1.510 Released on January 12 for v1.5.1

The Lost Pixels has released the first update for Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted this year, which brings the game to version 1.5.1. This is a small update, which addresses various issues, with the main fix connected to the Cloud Cover achievement/trophy.

Console gamers will see this as Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted update 1.510 (complete version 1.510.000), and it should be a small download across all platforms.

Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted’s Latest Update Fixes Achievement/Trophy Issue

Gameplay Fixes:

  • Fixed Zen Garden tutorial progression blocker after level 5-4
  • Fixed Cloud Cover achievement/trophy not unlocking when requirements are met (this will unlock retroactively for any players who achieved it in Patch 1.5.0)

The last major update for the game, which was released last month, added the Survival levels. Read on for what’s new in it.

  • New Features:

    • Added Survival: Endless Day, Night, Fog, Roof, and Cloudy Day levels.

      • These Endless levels each have their own save slots, with existing Survival: Endless saves carried over to Survival: Endless (Pool). 

  • Gameplay Fixes:

    • Fixed crash most commonly seen in long Survival: Endless games
    • Fixed cases where explosive plants (Cherry Bomb, Jalapeno, etc.) could get stuck in levels after using them
    • Fixed loading issue caused by interrupting the flow around Dave’s Taco after level 4-4 (The Magic Taco needed some attunement to account for speedsters)
    • Fixed issues with P2 planting cards in Vasebreaker levels
    • Fixed being able to use the Wheelbarrow to bring seedlings into the Aquarium
    • Fixed Zombies Plant Daisies visual toggle not properly retaining its state after exiting levels
    • Fixed issue with menus getting stuck when controller disconnects happened with the I, Zombie game over message on screen
  • Audio / Visual Fixes:

    • Fixed Seed Select menu music starting a few seconds into the track (The record had some dust. It’s cleaned now, so no more skipping!) 
    • Fixed Conveyor plant preview blackouts (Dr.Z was up to no good once again)
    • Muted ingame sfx during the title scene when starting a new Adventure run
    • Fixed issues with Zombies appearing in the Seed Select Preview view with visual toggles enabled
    • Fixed Aquarium planting slot shadows not being visible when using the Glove or Wheelbarrow
    • Fixed Zombotany head appearance issues
    • Fixed Cherry Bomb growing animation stopping early
    • Made sure Dr. Zomboss’s arm is properly attached when he throws the RV at the bottom row (Dr. Z is re-armed and dangerous!)
  • Feels like Feastivus!

    • Peashooter, Wall-nut, Regular Zombie, and Conehead Zombie are all feeling particularly feastive this month

Diablo IV update 1.100 (complete version 1.100.000) is now available for download on consoles, with the developer version 2.5.2 appearing for both PC and console gamers. This version number appears on the start screen once applied on all platforms.

Expect fixes and improvements to the base game, expansion and more, with the complete patch notes available below for today’s Diablo IV title update.

Base Game

The Tower and Leaderboards

General

  • Tower now unlocks Tiers the same way the Pit does.

Encounters

  • Monster populations have been tuned to be fair to both ranged and melee builds.
  • Bosses have been adjusted to remove unwanted behavior such as self healing and invisibility.
  • Boss health has been lowered to have parity with Pit Bosses.

Pylons

  • Removed the delay between when a Pylon Cage is destroyed and when a Pylon can be used.
  • Pylon health has been reduced in an effort to make them less tanky.
  • Tuned the pylons to be more balanced to avoid unfair rolls of pylon spawn order.
  • Pylon of Power
    • Damage from 4[x] to 3[x].
  • Pylon of Speed
    • Player gains a chunk of Temporary Attack Speed (+50% Attack Speed).
    • Player can Knockdown enemies they pass through.
  • Pylon of Channeling, Shrine of Channeling
    • Resource gain per second to support builds that drain resource which don’t benefit from Cost Reduction.

Orbs

  • Orbs drop immediately when the monster dies, and no longer wait for post-Death effects (Elite affixes like Fire enchanted, certain spiders, etc.)
  • If the orb drops close enough to the player, orbs will appear closer to you to avoid backtracking. If you are too far, orbs will drop at the corpse of the enemy that dropped it.

Quality of Life

  • Dying will never respawn players on the previous floor.
  • Exit portals now spawn closer to the player at the end of a run.

Game Updates

  • Spinning hazards in certain areas in the Vault of the Crucible dungeon have been removed.
  • Locked Capstone Dungeons will now show on the map and display a tooltip which describes requirements to unlock.
  • Various updates to The Tower.

Developer’s Note: With the release of the Tower in this patch, we’ve made a ton of change since we initially had players dive in for the Season 11 PTR. This includes various Quality of Life improvements and bug fixes. The Tower will be releasing as a Beta so please continue to provide feedback!   • Meteors spawned by the Essence of Hellfire now only deal damage over time, and no longer deal immediate damage or Stun players hit.

Developer’s Note: This part of the power will be re-enabled with the release of this patch.

  • When attempting to sanctify items that cannot be sanctified, you’ll now be better informed why it can’t be sanctified.

Expansion

Paladin

  • Fixed an issue where Flails couldn’t be enchanted or drop with the following affixes:
    • Critical Strike Damage
    • Damage
    • Bonus Damage over Time
    • Damage to Vulnerable enemies
    • Overpower Damage
    • Lucky Hit to Gain Resource
  • Fixed an issue where Paladins could become stuck while climbing.
  • Fixed an issue where Shield Charge could fail to hit enemies who were close to the player.
  • Fixed an issue where the player would get stuck in place if using Advance assigned to the right mouse button while March of the Stalwart was equipped.
  • Fixed an issue where the Rite of Mercy upgrade for Holy Light made Paladins untargetable by Spiritborn’s Toxic Skin Passive when playing in PvP.
  • Fixed an issue where Falling Star with the Freefall upgrade and Rally with the Words of Sacrifice upgrade didn’t generate resolve when the Aspect of Valiance was equipped.
  • Fixed an issue where the Aspect of Valiance could not be imprinted on the expected equipment slots.
  • Fixed an issue where the Strength node next to the Ironclad Rare node in the Castle Paragon Board was magic instead of normal.
  • Fixed an issue where the Renewal passive was granting healing instead of Fortify.
  • Fixed an issue where the player could go out of bounds and get stuck when casting Falling Star towards a Fog Wall.
  • Fixed an issue where the Screen Reader did not read the Paladin Unique Icon on items.

Spiritborn

  • Fixed an issue where Spiritborn players could not use the Armory until after unlocking Spirt Halls.
  • Fixed an issue where the below balance changes to Spiritborn, introduced in Season of Infernal Chaos, were unintentionally reverted.

        • Damage bonus increased from 3% to 5%, up to 40% from 24%.
    • The Devourer
      • Line damage increased from 140% to 200%.
      • Spit damage increased from 40% to 95%.

      • Poison damage bonus increased from 50% to 100%.
    • Key Passive
      • Vital Strikes
        • Vulnerable damage bonus increased from 80% to 100%.

        • Damage bonus increased from 15% to 30%.

Base Game

Accessibility

  • Fixed an issue where the Screen Reader did not properly read out buttons in the Season Rank menu.

Dungeons and The Pit

  • Fixed an issue where the Hellfire Adherent boss in the Hellish Descent dungeon could leave the boss arena.
  • Fixed an issue where quickly leaving boss arenas after entering minor boss arenas in Capstone Dungeons could allow players to circumvent the encounters.
  • Fixed an issue where the Leave Dungeon ability could teleport the player back to the first floor of Vault of the Crucible instead of outside the Dungeon.
  • Fixed an issue where enemies could endlessly spawn in the second floor of the Enclave of Darkness.
  • Fixed an issue where teleporting via the world map to the Hellish Descent dungeon took the player to the wrong location.
  • Fixed an issue where the Guardian’s Lair Portal in The Pit could spawn in an unreachable location.
  • Fixed an issue where Belial could be damaged before he fully spawned in The Pit.

Gameplay

  • Fixed an issue where Druid players could not use the Armory until they unlocked Spirt Boons.
  • Fixed an issue where previously earned renown rewards for extra potion charges still applied for some players.
  • Fixed an issue where Elite Monsters with the Soul Drinker Affix could scale indefinitely, becoming extremely large and eventually unkillable. Who knew drinking souls could be so good for bulking?
  • Fixed an issue where sometimes mounts would fail to break through barriers when using Spur.

User Interface and User Experience

  • Fixed an issue where Greater Affixes would lose their unique colored text after being upgraded through Masterworking.
  • Fixed an issue where the Boss Health Bar would be duplicated after it revived when fighting the Entwined Souls in Enclave of Darkness.
  • Fixed an issue where Toughness did not display properly when comparing items.
  • Fixed an issue where the visual effect for the Poison Enchanted affix could persist after the damaging effect was complete.

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed an issue where players on controller could accidentally re-summon Azmodan when trying to collect loot after defeating him.
  • Various stability, performance, UI, and visual improvements.
