Minecraft Update 1.039 Released on Consoles for Bedrock 1.21.132

Mojang has released Minecraft update 1.039 (complete version 1.039.000) for current-gen consoles, and this is for Bedrock version 1.21.132.

This applies fixes, and addresses address graphical issues and the disconnect issues that have been plaguing Xbox gamers.

The complete patch notes are available below.

Minecraft Receives January 9 Update as Patch 1.039

Fixes:

Accounts

  • Fixed player data becoming disconnected from account for Xbox players in split-screen mode (MCPE-233088)

Graphical

  • Fixed an issue where textures would not be correctly reloaded when changing between graphics modes in the main menu
  • Fixed an issue where add-on resources disappeared after a second Player joined a split-screen session (MCPE-233369)

General

  • Fixed a bug that could cause players to get disconnected if “/effect @e” command is used on too many entities (MCPE-233598)

Items

  • Fixed issue where compass sprite was occasionally invisible (MCPE-232933)

Realms

  • Fixed a freeze that could happen when buying a Realm on Nintendo Switch

Technical Updates

With the Mounts of Mayhem content drop just rolled out last month, don’t expect a major update, as Mojang will be teasing that before it’s officially released.

ARC Raiders Players Changing Hidden Config Game Settings for Unfair Advantages

Don’t look now, but ARC Raiders players on PC: there are new threats to watch out for besides people looking to steal your loot. I’m referring to cheaters. Mind, these aren’t your usual kind of cheaters who buy third-party software for aim bots and whatnot, but something more devious.

It seems some players on PC are messing around with the game’s config files to gain an unfair advantage against other players. What makes this even more disgusting? It seems some streamers are even getting in on the act.

ARC Raiders Config Files Are Being Used to Cheat

Some ARC Raiders PC players are said to be bypassing the in-game limits by modifying the local config files to force ultra-wide FOV (Field-of-View), and high-visibility presets that give these players an unfair edge over the player base.

You can see how it is in action in the video below.

&

The game’s community have also noticed this happening as well, with some streamers apparently getting in on the act. If you want to see who, just check Twitch and the people who stream ARC Raiders (we’re not naming them for obvious reasons). Hopefully, Embark is aware of this and looking to fix this ASAP.

While Embark Studios has been very much on-the-ball when it comes to providing post-release support for ARC Raiders, that doesn’t mean the game doesn’t need improvements. When it comes to cheats, the devs have said they are implementing anti-cheat updates, and this includes out-of-map exploits.

The developers have said the patch to help mitigate cheats is inbound in the “coming weeks,” but no specific timetable has been given. Once we know more about it, we’ll let our readers know.

Are there any other ARC Raiders cheats and exploits making the rounds? If so, leave a comment and let us know, so we can bring it to Embak’s attention

Rematch Update 1.202.003 Applies Hotfix on January 9 Across All Platforms

The first patch of Rematch for 2026 is a small one, and it’s not for any new content, but for fixes. Developer Sloclap has revealed Rematch update 1.202.003 is live across all platforms, and this is a hotfix at fixing specific issues.

Note that this doesn’t fix all the known issues, but for now, it handles one of the most important ones that affect the game’s stability.

Rematch First Update of 2026 Released on January 9

Today’s patch handles stability issues related to GPU. Sloclap notes, “We’re pushing a hotfix in order to fix GPU crash-related issues. You’ll be able to update your game in just a few minutes.”

This is confirmed as a small update, and is more of a hotfix than anything else.

While this is an important update, it doesn’t address issues the community has raised repeatedly, and these include: fresh new content, new shop items, and more.

To be more specific, the game’s players have asked Sloclap to:

  • Fix any unfair exploits
  • Add actual stylish cosmetics
  • Add more items in the in-game store
  • Remove shoe visual effects color from being tied to a certain pair of shoes. Perhaps separate it so players can equip the shoes and VFX that they want
  • Copy, paste and save custom character builds functionality
  • New mods
  • Improved servers and matchmaking
  • Add daily, weekly challenges
  • Tournaments – either official or let players host their own
  • Collaborations with other football teams, products or games

When it comes to bugs, some of the issues still not fixed include:

  • Dead ball glitch
  • Slide tackle cancelling
  • No diamonds on 50/50 balls
  • No diamond prompt when players are near the ball or there are also cases that players will get a prompt, but trying to shoot or push, will result in your character doing nothing
  • Head hits not registering

These are just the tip of the iceberg, of course. Hopefully, Sloclap is listening and we see some tangible updates hit the game soon. Clearly, the Season 2 update wasn’t even close to enough to satisfy the player base, and the last thing the developers want is players jumping ship to another multiplayer online game.

The Division 3 Will Have as Big of an Impact as First Division; “Shaping Up to Be a Monster” Claims Producer

The Division 3 was announced in September 2023, and here we are two years later, with not even a screenshot to pore over. Thankfully, there is some good news, as Ubisoft has confirmed the game is still in active development.

This was confirmed by The Division 3 Executive Producer Julian Gerighty in the New Game+ Showcase.

While Gerighty wasn’t able to give more gameplay details, he did add that they are working “extremely hard” on the looter shooter.

The Division 3 Is Still in Active Development, and Will Have “Big Impact” as The Div 1

Speaking at the New Games+ Showcase, Gerighty shared, “So, The Division 3 is in production, right? This is not a secret.
It’s been announced. It’s shaping up to be a monster. I can’t really say anything more than that. But this is within these walls in Massive. We are working extremely hard on something that I think will be as big an impact as Division 1 was.”

Gerighty shifted focus from Star Wars Outlaws (also developed by Massive) to The Division 3 last year. Hopefully we hear more about the sequel this year, and if Gerighty’s statement rings true, then looter shooter fans are in for a treat.

The Division 1 was received warmly when it was released, and it was something we haven’t really seen before in 2016. While the sequel (The Division 2) wasn’t as accepted warmly by fans, Massive Entertainment continued to toil away at it, until it hit the state it’s in now.

Support for that game isn’t even done yet, as the “Survivors” project was announced last year, and unless something drastic happens, we should see it released sometime this year. If I had to hazard a guess, the Survivors content will be The Division 2’s swan song, with The Division 3 taking center stage after it — at least one can hope.

Will we get a Year 8 roadmap for The Division 2? I’d say the chances are high, and once we know more about it, expect it here on MP1st.

Avowed PS5 Version Releases February 17; Anniversary Update Announced

Avowed, the action-RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment that was released last year for Xbox Series and PC platforms, is now confirmed for the PS5!

The announcement was made today during the New Game+ Showcase, where the developers also confirmed that an Anniversary Update is scheduled for release on February 17, 2026, the same day the PS5 version is set to launch.

Avowed PS5 Version Confirmed and It Releases February 17, 2026

Avowed Release Pushed to Early 2025

Alongside the PS5 version’s release date, the developers also confirmed that the Anniversary Update will be out the same day and include the following addition:

  • New Game Plus
  •  New races to play (dwarves, orlan, and aumaua)
  • A brand new weapon type
  • Photo Mode

Expect gameplay improvements and bug fixes to be part of the patch as well, and I presume that the new content included in the Anniversary Update will be available for PS5 gamers via a day-one update or something.

Alongside the release date, pre-orders for the game is also live starting today.

While Avowed might not have the same name recognition as some of Obsidian’s other works, it did review well, averaging a very respectable 80 score for the Xbox version.

Another Xbox exclusive we’re expecting to be released on the PS5 is Bethesda’s Starfield, which we reported on five months ago. Read our scoop to know more about it and Expansion 2.

ARC Raiders Getting an Anti-Cheat Update in the Coming Weeks; Will Address “Out of Map” Glitch

Continuing its excellent post-release support of ARC Raiders, developer Embark Studios has announced that the extraction shooter will be getting an anti-cheat update in the coming weeks.

This update is aimed at deploying “new detection mechanisms” that will identify and remove cheaters.

For those concerned about the “out of map” glitch/exploit that’s been happening since last year, that too will be addressed.

ARC Raiders Anti-Cheat Update Inbound in the “Coming Weeks”

In a statement posted on the game’s Discord channel, Embark said, “We’ve seen the discussion around the topic of cheaters in ARC Raiders. Please know that we are taking this issue very seriously and are listening to, and acting on your feedback.” Continuing, “Over the next few weeks, we are implementing significant changes to our rulesets and deploying new detection mechanisms to identify and remove cheaters. This includes updating our Anti-Cheat systems for improved detection and bans, as well as applying client-side fixes specifically addressing the “out of map” glitch. Furthermore, we are introducing tools for streamers to help mitigate stream sniping.”

While no specific date has been given for when we can expect the patch, it should arrive within the month as part of the game’s almost-weekly update cycle.

Embark previously confirmed that ARC Raiders updates will be released on Tuesdays instead of Thursdays. So there is a chance we’ll see one this coming week.

Black Ops 7 Season 1 Gameplay Patch Notes

New & Returning Maps

  • Yakei (6v6/2v2)
    • Traverse the rooftops of Japan in this new small-sized map bringing Operators up high over the neon-lit streets of the city. Track down enemy targets through the maintenance passage and over a series of ducts, vents, electrical equipment, and other rooftop features, including Wall Jumps to leap after fleeing foes.
  • Meltdown (6v6)
    • This Black Ops 2 masterclass in map design returns in a stunning remaster as Meltdown comes to Black Ops 7 Multiplayer in the Mid-Season update. Go nuclear on the enemy team in the classic map featuring updated visuals, dynamic lighting, and the same intense moment-to-moment fights that cemented the map’s popularity.
  • Fringe (6v6)
    • Based on the reimagined version of the map introduced in Black Ops 6 Season 04, Fringe returns, giving players the chance to revisit the idyllic Rolling Hills distillery with new Wall Jump opportunities.

New Map Variant

  • Vault Town (6v6)
    • Drop into the suburbs of the future in this Nuketown map variant bringing the retro-apocalyptic setting of Fallout to the iconic cul-de-sac. Sponsored by the Vault-Tec Corporation, Vault Town features special air purifiers removing all the dangerous particles one would normally breathe throughout the Wasteland, allowing residents to enjoy the fruits of classic suburban living.

New Multiplayer Modes

  • S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Mayhem
    • Brave the Wasteland as its irradiated atmosphere descends on Multiplayer, blanketing each map in toxic particles as players engage in a 6v6 moshpit of Team Deathmatch, Domination, and Hardpoint featuring S.P.E.C.I.A.L. buffs providing vital power ups. Keep your radiation levels in check to avoid adverse reactions. Thankfully, the HUD features a handy Geiger counter displaying your level of exposure at all times.
    • Acquire a variety of power-ups to improve your chances of survival in the harsh Wasteland. These power-ups are dropped by eliminated Operators where they fall, including:
      • Pumpkin Pie: Increased health. Even irradiated Operators need to eat now and then.
      • Nuka-Cola Cranberry: Score multiplier. Quench your thirst with the Wasteland’s most popular soft drink.
      • Jet: Increased overall speed. Highly addictive.
      • Psycho: Improved hip fire accuracy and headshot damage. Users susceptible to bouts of intense rage.
      • RadAway: Cut down your current radiation level. An essential item for curbing the effects of the Wasteland’s irradiated air. Rad levels also drop after eliminating enemies and are further mitigated when engaged with the objective.
      • Luck Bobblehead: Increases the odds of finding better power-ups and RadAway from fallen enemies. Secure one early for a big advantage. NOTE: All players wearing a Fallout-themed Operator Skin, including the two free Operator Skin rewards from the Fallout Event Pass, will start the match with this buff active automatically.
  • The Ghouls
    • Irradiated horrors swarm the surface as Vault Dwellers fight to survive a feral Ghoul outbreak in this 24-player Wasteland twist on Infected, where Vault Dwellers must scavenge for Perks and RadAway in an irradiated environment. Eliminated Vault Dwellers return as relentless Ghouls. Infect everyone or outlast the clock to win.
    • Vault Dwellers: Deploy with a full Loadout of items and three Scorestreaks—LDBR, H.A.R.P., and War Machine—to help face off against the horde. Vault Dwellers become exposed to higher levels of radiation poisoning throughout the match. Reduce your levels by grabbing packs of RadAway dropped by eliminated Ghouls along with other power-ups like Max Ammo, Full Power, and Insta-Kill.
      • Vault Dwellers who chain enough Player Ghoul eliminations in a row will gain additional enhancements, including increased movement and sprint to fire speed on the first kill, improved hip-fire accuracy on the second, increased ADS and weapon swap speed on the third, increased reload speed on the fourth, and double points and headshot damage after the fifth kill. NOTE: All players wearing a Fallout-themed Operator Skin, including the two free Operator Skin rewards from the Fallout Event Pass, will start the match with an active buff automatically.
    • Glowing Ghouls: Once the Infection timer begins, one randomly chosen Vault Dweller will become the first Ghoul, a toxic variant of the enemy glowing green with radiation, benefiting from increased health and the ability to instant kill enemies until they are no longer the only Ghoul in the match. On death, the Glowing Ghoul explodes, increasing the radiation levels of Vault Dwellers caught in the blast radius. Every time a player spawns as a Ghoul, there’s a random chance that they will spawn in as a Glowing Ghoul instead of a Standard Ghoul.
    • Standard Ghouls: Ghouls attack with their hands and are also equipped with Ninja and Tracker Perks with the Recon Combat Specialty. Ghouls who chain enough Vault Dweller eliminations can activate the powerful Deathclaw Scorestreak, transforming them into an even bigger threat.
  • Takeover (In-Season)
    • Fight over a set of three neutral zones in this new dynamic objective mode combining elements of Hardpoint and Domination into a brand-new competitive experience. Teams earn points for capturing a zone, which then disables that zone from the match. Once all three zones have been captured, they rotate to a new trio of zones following a short cooldown. Redouble your efforts with each subsequent shift of the objectives to achieve the highest score and win the match.

New Weapons

  • Sturmwolf 45 (SMG, Event Reward)
    • Full-auto submachine gun. Very low recoil and good headshot damage. Lower handling, mobility, and range.
    • For a quick, reliable SMG sporting an easy to control and recognizable recoil pattern, look no further than the Sturmwolf 45.
  • Hawker HX (Sniper Rifle, Event Reward) (In-Season)
    • Bolt-action Sniper Rifle. Fast handling and mobility. Higher recoil and flinch. Hold breath while ADS to steady.
    • With solid mobility and handling, this weapon is absolutely lethal in the hands of the Operator who can line up their shots and hit the mark.

New Weapon Attachments

  • Coda 9 Adaptive Discharge Mod (Weekly Challenge Reward)
    • Provides a faster fire rate with improved spread when fired off the hip and a slower fire rate with higher damage and range in ADS. Improves recoil control, but harms handling and mobility.
  • M8A1 Autostrike-X8 Conversion (Weekly Challenge Reward)
    • Convert the M8A1 into a fully automatic weapon with a fast fire rate and controllable recoil. Improves headshot damage and handling but harms ranged firepower, aiming movement speed, and spread.
  • MPC-25 ContraBloom Laser (Weekly Challenge Reward)
    • Removes virtually all hip spread and resists firing bloom. Improves non-ADS mobility with a significant damage range penalty. Provides Crossbar ADS with increased aiming idle sway. Blocks Underbarrel Attachments and Optics.

Warzone Season 1 Patch Notes via Update 1.088

MODES

Power Armor Royale Limited-Time Mode

Power Armor Royale is a limited-time, asymmetrical power-fantasy crossover inspired by the Fallout universe. Players deploy into Verdansk to charge personal Fusion Cores, secure devastating Power Armor, navigate deadly Radiation Zones, and survive encounters with Raiders, enemy Operators, and rival Power Armors.

  • Overview
    • Resurgence rules are active through the end of the 5th circle, transitioning to classic Warzone Battle Royale rules starting in the 6th circle.
    • Shares the same win condition as classic Warzone Battle Royale.
    • Supports up to 66 players per match.
    • Nuclear bombs strike Verdansk at infil, creating visible Radiation Zones marked as green circles on the Tac Map.
    • Enemy bots referred to as Raiders are roaming Verdansk.
    • The first safe circle is reduced in size compared to standard Warzone.
  • Gameplay
    • Charge your personal Fusion Core by collecting Fusion Core canisters dropped from:
      • Player eliminations
      • Power Armor eliminations
      • Raider eliminations
      • Contracts
      • Loot crates
        • Increased value found inside Radiation Zones
    • Use the Tac Map to locate Radiation Zones. Entering these zones without Power Armor will gradually reduce your maximum health unless countered with RadAway.
    • Search Radiation Zones for special loot, including Fallout-themed crates and Power Armor crates that grant powerful weapons and abilities.
    • Beginning in Circle 2, planes drop Power Armor boxes across the map. With a fully charged Fusion Core, interact with Brotherhood-marked kiosks to equip a Power Armor suit.
    • While in Power Armor, utilize a dedicated HUD, powerful weapons (such as a minigun and shotgun), and abilities including thrusters, Mega Punch, Tesla Coil, and a mini-nuke while managing armor health, fusion fuel, and coordinated enemy threats.

High Octane Battle Royale Limited-Time Mode (In-Season)

    • Spawn with your custom loadout.
    • Tactical equipment is replaced with the Grappling Hook.
    • Access the Buy Station anywhere by holding down the inventory button, anytime throughout the match, stocked with extra high-impact items.
    • Automatic redeploy when eliminated if you have at least $4,000.
    • Extremely fast gas circles that keep pressure high and downtime low.

    • Can be acquired via Weekly Challenge Reward

Weapon Adjustments

With this mid-season update, we aimed to bring more value to underused attachments, especially mid-range barrels on ARs and SMGs while addressing attachments that were either too punishing to run or overly dominant in their slot. We also made adjustments to help certain ARs better compete at mid-to-long ranges, expanding overall long-range diversity.

For the complete weapon changes made, read it here.

Don’t be surprised to see a follow-up patch be released within the month.

In other news connected to Call of Duty, the latest Battlefield 6 mask has a strange similiarity to Call of Duty: Ghosts’ logo. Don’t believe me? Take a look for yourself.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 naughty dog

Per Sandfall, here’s what got fixed today: “Mes amis, we’ve just pushed a patch to fix the soft lock occurring during Braseleur battles. Thank you so much for all of your reports via the official Typeform!”

That’s about it for today’s patch. There was a patch released after the Thank You update, which addressed a fair amount of issues, which we’ve included below.

Bug Fixes & Improvements

  • Fixed a targeting issue caused by using a Recoat item followed by ‘Retry Battle’, which resulted in the player being unable to target the middle enemy or character.
  • Fixed a soft-lock when attempting to load a save without hovering any slot while backup saves were displayed.
  • Fixed upgrade of the weapons to level 34 when spamming Upgrade weapon and change character buttons
    • Level 34 weapons have been reverted back to level 33

Localization

Fixed various localization issues, including:

  • Subtitles in Root Of All Evil cinematics disappearing too fast.
  • Overlapping text in Pictos & Luminas lists.
  • Autoplay dialogue options swapped when the title is set to LATAM Spanish.
  • Incorrect text displayed during Flying Manor side quest when the title is set to Vietnamese.
  • Verso’s skill Phantom Stars displaying HTML in combat when the title is set to Vietnamese.

There’s no word on whether we’ll be getting another major patch, but if we do, we’ll let our readers know. While a sequel hasn’t been officially announced, Expedition 33’s director has confirmed that more games in the franchise are on the way.

The Finals Update on January 8 Implements Patch 9.4.0/1.000.122

SNOWBALL BLITZ | LAST CHANCE

This is the last week of Snowball Blitz, so make a pile of snowballs and turn in those contracts!

STORE UPDATE | P1XEL REIGN CREW

C-Pop group P1XEL REIGN have entered the Arena and they’re here to take the spotlight from everyone! Do you have what it takes to face them?

GAME UPDATE | BALANCE CHANGES

GADGETS

Breach Drill

  • Increased the length of the drill bit from 83cm to 108cm, to allow it to more effectively drill through deep walls

Dev Note: We noticed some locations in the world had thick enough walls that they would prevent the Breach Drill’s flash from impacting players on the other side. This change should address that.

GAME MODES

Cashout/Ranked Tournaments

  • Updated the logic for deciding where Cashout Stations should spawn, to create more consistent distances between Cashout Stations and Vaults

Dev Note: This is a small iteration that hopefully makes round pacing more consistent. One of our goals over the next season or two is to revisit various spawn systems, from objective spawns to team/coin spawns.

WEAPONS

CB-01 Repeater

  • Increased aim down sights zoom time from 0.2s to 0.24s, making it slightly slower to aim down sights
  • Increased bullet dispersion when crouched, moving while crouched, and when standing still, making the weapon slightly less accurate

Dev Notes: The CB-01 has been overperforming for a while now, compared to all other Medium weapons, and it sits as the one of the bigger outlier weapons in the game at present. Much of its power comes from it remaining effective at closer ranges when the weapon is intended to specialize at longer ranges. These changes should reduce its close range effectiveness without damaging its performance at range, but this is a weapon we’ll continue to monitor closely.

FAMAS

  • Adjusted the recoil pattern, making the weapon jump more during the initial burst and adding slightly more recoil overall
  • Increased bullet dispersion slightly, across all stances
  • Decreased the delay before recoil recovery begins from 0.7s to 0.24s, making the weapon much easier to control if the player fires in bursts
  • Decreased recoil recovery speed from 0.9 to 0.8

Dev Note: We feel the FAMAS has become a little too effective at both long and close range, meaning it has very few drawbacks compared to some other Medium weapons and often fills the role that we intended for the AKM and FCAR. These changes nudge it towards being a medium-to-long ranged weapon, and make it slightly less effective up close.

Recurve Bow

  • Increased rate of fire from 98 RPM to 103 RPM
  • Decreased minimum draw time from 0.15s to 0.08s, making it faster to perform quick shots

Dev Note: The Bow has dropped off in usage and various other metrics over time making it one of the weaker and least popular Light weapons. These changers are aimed at bumping up its power to give it greater viability.

V9S

  • Decreased the damage fall-off end range from 25m to 20m

Dev Note: We mentioned in Update 9.1 that our 9.0 buffs to the V9S had pushed it into a dominant position, especially when it came to damage output per round. Despite some adjustments in 9.1 to try and address that, the V9S still remains a significant outlier in terms of performance, largely due to its increased value in medium ranged fights since S9 launched. This change should firmly push it back towards being a more closed ranged weapon, rather than having it cannibalize the role of other Light weapons.

GAME UPDATE | CONTENT AND BUG FIXES

Animation

  • Fixed a visual issue where one of the .50 Akimbo pistols could appear to float when affected by a flashbang or when burning
  • Fixed incorrect thigh deformation on characters during movement
  • Adjusted the animation when a Contestant using .50 Akimbo pistols is pulled by a Winch Claw
  • Fixed meshes appearing blurry during inspect animations
  • Fixed an issue where, in some BFR animations, the Weapon Charm could appear on screen before the Weapon
  • Fixed an issue where being glitched while aiming with the H+ Infuser could cause melee weapons (such as the Dagger) to be held in an ADS pose until swapped
  • Fixed animation distortions when entering Low Gravity while using Akimbo pistols and Mesh Shield
  • Fixed a firing animation issue for .50 Akimbo pistols after using Mesh Shield
  • Fixed an issue where certain Weapon action animations would not play after switching items mid-action and switching back
  • Fixed an issue where the quick melee animation sometimes did not play when used immediately after the Spear spin attack or while using Mesh Shield
  • Fixed throwing animations not playing after certain actions

Audio

  • Fixed an issue where sounds could be muted when leaving paused private lobbies
  • Fixed incorrect destruction sounds on various environmental objects
  • Included the announcer as part of the commentary volume slider which can be adjusted in Settings
  • Updated and polished deploy sounds for many Weapons and Gadgets to improve clarity and consistency
  • Fixed an issue where the commentator voice-over at the end of a round in Cashout could be cut off
  • Added a sound for inserting a second Cashbox into a Cashout Station
  • Adjusted ÖRF grenade voice lines to prevent them from cutting off. Inspect lines now stop when you throw, but continue when preparing to throw

Contract

  • Fixed an issue where grenade damage was not recognized for related sponsor Contracts

Cosmetic

  • Fixed finger clipping with the QuickSpark sight when inspecting the Revolver with the Plundersteel skin
  • Fixed several boots clipping with pants

  • Magazines now visually reflect remaining ammo and empty-mag visuals have been added
  • Fixed a visual issue where the Anti-Gravity Cube could sometimes show an incorrect skin when deployed
  • Fixed an issue where the Concrete Canopy skin would cause the XP-54 to render incorrectly

Gameplay

  • Fixed some instances of the “can’t shoot” bug
  • Environmental kills now correctly display the granted score
  • Added a hit marker when successfully glitching a Gateway
  • Added a critical hit marker for Flashbang. The hitmarker now indicates flash effectiveness, showing yellow for a very successful hit

Gamemodes

Point break

General

  • Party members now spawn together more often at the start of Point Break matches
  • Lockbolt can no longer attach to the Grand Vaults

Dev Note: Grand Vault manipulation has become a fairly negative experience for many players in Point Break mode since the mode launched and it’s something we’re keen to reduce to ensure more enjoyable matches. This change is the first of a series of changes we’re likely to make over the next few weeks to make manipulation of Grand Vaults much more limited.

Bernal

  • Slightly adjusted a Phase 2 Attacker spawn on Bernal to improve flow

Monaco

Phase 1:

  • Moved objectives B and C one house further away from the Cathedral
  • Moved attacker spawns back a little to maintain similar travel distances to the objectives
  • Tweaked Ziplines and planks for smoother routes between the adjusted objective locations
  • Replaced a Zipline for a Jump Pad at one of the Attacker spawns for more consistent access to the rooftopsDev note: Objective B could be quite difficult and sometimes frustrating to capture, due to the defenders having a strong natural high ground advantage from the Cathedral next to it. We hope that these changes still make the Cathedral a fun and meaningful position for long-range Defenders, but less oppressive when attacking. Objective C was moved to maintain a nice flow between it and the new objective B location, and to give it more layers of destruction to better sustain prolonged large-scale battles when it’s the last objective remaining.

Phase 2:

  • Moved objective E in the Cathedral slightly away from the wall to make movement around it more comfortable
  • Adjusted the Attacker border so it sits a bit further away from the shed in the Forest where Objective G of Phase 3 is located
  • Added extra Ziplines to increase rooftop access

Phase 3:

  • Added extra Ziplines to increase rooftop access

SYS Horizon

Phase 1:

  • Slightly moved Objective B to avoid a small gap between it and the wall, through which you could unexpectedly get shot

Phase 3:

  • Adjusted a Defender spawn to improve flow and make a Zipline easier to spot and use

Power Shift

  • Fixed an unintended loop in the Power Shift platform path on Kyoto that caused rapid rotation

Dev note: Because of the above fix Kyoto will now return to the map pool for Power Shift!

Maps

Kyoto

  • Fixed a hillside spawn that could cause players to clip into terrain
  • Adjusted Kyoto’s map border to better follow the hillside terrain and restored a missing wall end at the stables
  • Removed the bamboo cluster between Cliffside and the Temples to improve readability

HYTE’s Z90 “Impossible Case”: The Unobtainable Blueprint Behind the X50 Series

Just this past year, HYTE released their newest PC case, the X50 and X50 Air. While it brought over a rather unique aesthetic to the mainstream market, with its curved glass and metal panels, that separated itself from the traditional “box” style case, that vision was actually born from the ashes of another case they were working on, one deemed impossible to manufacture with today’s technology.

Here’s the story of the Z90, HYTE’s “Impossible airflow case” concept featuring one of the craziest case designs you’ll ever see, but one you’ll never get to own.

How HYTE’s Z90 Failure Led to the Creation of the X50 Series

After the release of HYTE’s Y70 series, the PC case manufacturer set its sights on something bigger and much more ambitious. Thus, work on what they dubbed the “Z90” began, leading them down a long, very costly path of prototyping. Their dream of building something brand-new, unlike anything anyone has seen before, was eventually achieved, with HYTE describing the Z90 as “otherworldly, almost alien-like, to achieve “perfect airflow” with an exoskeleton covering it.

The problem, however, was that building the case itself was not cheap. In fact, to make just one, the manufacturer spent a whopping $10,000. The challenge they now had to overcome was to take a case that looked like it cost $1000 to make and sell it for $200, a task deemed impossible in today’s market, especially with the ongoing rise in costs the PC market is facing.

“If you ask me, I feel this is very special and sexy. But who is the right customer who will appreciate this kind of design?” Alex Hou, CEO of iBUYPOWER, said in the video, “This looks really special. This looks really magical. But is there a market that can afford that magic? Otherwise, we should just make the one and make it an art piece and share the art and not overinvest in the potential magic here. If we couldn’t charge top dollar for this, what are we doing? Do we give up on this project, or do we find some other vendors, maybe doing architectural decorations from different industries, not just the computer case industry? Can they provide their expertise and contribute to this project?”

With 3 years of R&D that was about to go to waste, HYTE designer Alexander Ji jokingly suggested they take the Z90’s internal chassis and add front panels. Turns out that’s precisely the thinking HYTE was looking for to salvage the work done on the Z90, thus birthing the X50 and X50 Air.

The chassis of the Z90, which is nearly identical to that of the X50 and X50 Air

Shame we may never see the Z90 in its complete form, ever released to the mass market, but at least something spectacular spawned from it: the X50 series

For those interested in the HYTE X50, be on the lookout for our review of it in the coming weeks!

Monster Hunter Wilds Update 1.040.050 for Ver. 1.040.03.00 Released as First Patch of 2026

The first patch of the year for Monster Hunter Wilds is live on alll platforms, and this is for what Capcom calls version 1.040.03.00!

Console gamers will see this as Monster Hunter Wilds update 1.040.050, and this applies adjustments to Support Hunters, as well as bug fixes and other improvements.

For the complete patch notes, read on.

Monster Hunter Wilds First Update of 2026 Released on January 7

BUG FIXES

  • – Fixed an issue where restarting the game could cause an equipped pendant and Seikret decorations registered in the Hunter Profile to reset to default.
  • – Fixed an issue where some visual effects of the Hunting Horn’s Echo Bubble displayed red regardless of effect.
  • – Fixed an issue in Barrel Bowling where points were sometimes not correctly awarded for targets hit by explosions.
  • – Fixed an issue where the fishing button guide incorrectly displayed a stick rotation input when using keyboard controls.
  • – Fixed other miscellaneous issues.

SUPPORT HUNTERS

  • – Adjusted Fabius’s guard position to be closer to the center of the area when Gogmazios’s special attack is successfully weakened, and prevented his guard from being delayed by incoming attacks.
  • – When successfully weakening Gogmazios’s special attack, Fabius will now send a signal and display an objective marker (guild icon). Additionally, new Fabius dialogue has been added for when failing to weaken the attack.
  • – Fixed an issue where Fabius could behave unnaturally when guarding after successfully weakening Gogmazios’s special attack.
  • – Added the effects of the skill Shock Absorber to all Support Hunters, preventing Fabius from reacting to player attacks while guarding against Gogmazios’s special attack.
  • – Reduced the likelihood of being hit by Gogmazios’s attacks while moving toward elevated positions or towards Fabius after successfully weakening Gogmazios’s special attack.
  • – Even after failing to weaken Gogmazios’s special attack, attacks will no longer reach elevated areas. Objective markers (guild icons) have also been added for available elevated safe positions.

While this doesn’t include any new content, we should be hearing more about Capcom’s future plans for the franchise soon, and once we know more, expect it here on MP1st.

In other Capcom news, the next major game from the company is Resident Evil Requiem, which will be released next month. Capcom officially revealed that Leon will be one of the main protagonists in the game last month, and mentioned how the character will be “driven to the brink.”
