Rare has released Sea of Thieves update 1.300.363 today and this is to address several issues with the game. One issue is to address game stability while the other affects passive Megalodons. Check out the details down below as posted by Rare this May 7.
Sea of Thieves Update 1.300.363 Patch Notes: FIXED ISSUES
Gameplay
Crews engaging a Megalodon should no longer find that it suddenly becomes passive and leaves the encounter. Be prepared to fight!
Players are no longer able to get into a state where they can rapidly throw many throwing knives faster than intended.
Shooting a ranged weapon at a player holding a Gunpowder Barrel should now consistently hit and detonate the barrel first, rather than sometimes hitting the player behind it.
The War Chest
Players firing a Bone Caller at Skeleton Ships should now progress the Skeleton Squared Commendation.
Pirate Emporium
The Blow Bubbles Emote has now had its price corrected from 249 to 149 Ancient Coins. Players who purchased the emote at the incorrect price will be reimbursed 100 Ancient Coins.
Performance and Stability
Players on Xbox attempting to play Sea of Thieves before the full game package has been installed should no longer experience instability during play.

Enemies
Increased Shrieker sight and hearing range slightly.
Increased Gunship hearing range slightly.
Fixes
Gameplay
We have fixed issues with the way Damage-over-time effects were being applied. This should fix issues where only the network session owner could apply them, and other cases where they would be applied inconsistently.
Firing the Punisher Plasma while wearing a shield backpack no longer damages the Helldiver
Fixed issues with some weapon scopes not being aligned in First-Person-View.
The sound when stimming no longer plays while being interrupted
Major orders with the “Kill task” now track score correctly. Previously it counted the entire squad’s kills once for each player, meaning it would multiply the score by the number of people on the mission; this is now amended.
Helldivers can no longer land on tall rocks in the “Horde Defend Missions”
Helldivers can no longer land on top of bug pillars in Deactivate Terminid Control System missions
Fix for the reinforce stratagem not being present if a Helldiver leaves the session before readying up and then hot joining the active session
Crashes
Fixed a crash that could occur when all players were dead on the “Deactivate Terminid Control System” mission
Fixed a crash that could occur on game shutdown
Fixed a crash that could occur when leaving the mission and rejoining
Fixed a crash that could occur at the end of cutscenes
Fixed a crash that could occur when diving into missions
Fixed a tutorial crash that could occur on PC when ALT+Tabbing
Fixed a rare crash that could occur when using beam weapons
Fixed a rare crash that could occur for players on startup when using VPN
Fixed a soft lock that could occur if the player would open the text chat while having the stratagem menu open
Other general crash fixes
Social Menu fixes
PC players adding friends through friend codes can no longer show up as “Unknown”
Fixed overlapping footers inside menus
Steam friends should now be visible in Social Menu, even though Friends List is not set to Public in Steam Privacy Settings
Recent Players list will now include hot-joining players
Players are now able to unblock players that were not in their friends list beforehand
Fixed issue with empty friend-names in Social Menu
Lobby privacy mode text updates immediately when changed
Player names longer than 26 characters should now update properly in the Social Menu
Fixed issue where non-host players could kick others indiscriminately including the host
Other
Total purchased counter on the right side of the Robotics Workshop section no longer displays 7 / 8 despite all stratagems being purchased
Resolved some edge cases related to Steam AppId related errors on login
Known Issues
These are issues that were either introduced by this patch and are being worked on, or are from a previous version and have not yet been fixed.
Players may not have the option to send, accept or decline friend requests.
Blocked players are not added to the Blocked Players list and are not prevented from joining games.
Reinforcement may not be available for some players who join a game in progress.
Helldiver may be unable to stand up from crouching when surrounded by enemies.
Game may crash if the player changes the text language while on a mission.
Players may experience delays in Medals and Super Credits payouts.
Enemies that bleed out do not progress Personal Orders and Eradicate missions.
Arc weapons sometimes behave inconsistently and sometimes misfire.
Spear’s targeting is inconsistent, making it hard to lock-on to larger enemies.
Stratagem beam might attach itself to an enemy but it will deploy to its original location.
Explosions do not break your limbs (except for when you fly into a rock).
Area around Automaton Detector Tower makes blue stratagems such as the Hellbomb bounce and be repelled when trying to call them down close to the tower.
Planet liberation reaches 100% at the end of every Defend mission.
Some weapons in the tutorial have missing parts presenting as question marks in some cases.

PC players are in for a treat, as Supergiant Games has stealth dropped Hades 2 today! Yes, you read that right, the sequel to the indie hit is now available via early access to PC players.
“We designed the original Hades for Early Access from the ground up, and the same is true for Hades II, our first-ever sequel. We believe everything about this game benefits from ongoing feedback, from the balancing to the storytelling.”Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
“We expect Hades II to be in Early Access development at least through the end of 2024. Given the nature of Early Access development, we don’t have a specific end date planned at this time.”How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
“We expect the full version of Hades II to include a more-complete, more-polished set of features and content in comparison to the Early Access version, along with Steam Achievements and the true ending to the story.
During Early Access, our plan is to release a Major Update every few months containing new features and content, followed soon after by patches to shore up any issues. We are looking to release the first of these Major Updates later this year.
An in-game Development Roadmap provides more context on where we’re at in development and our current priorities.”What is the current state of the Early Access version?
“Hades II in Early Access already has more environments, foes, and fully-voiced characters than the full version of the original Hades game. But it isn’t complete, and key areas, characters, foes, narrative events, and systems are still to come.
We have been actively working on the game for more than three years already. For our Early Access launch, we wanted Hades II to be far enough along that as many players as possible could have a good experience right away, yet not far enough along that it’s too late in development for us to act on the feedback we receive.
You may reach certain points in the game where it becomes clear that you’ve reached the end of the current content. Furthermore, various interface screens, HUD icons, and character art are still temporary or work-in-progress, along with various other aspects of the presentation.”Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
“Depending on the duration of Early Access and the scope of additional content we add to Hades II over time, we may raise the retail price at a later point.”How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
“Much like with the Early Access development of the original game, we will be actively monitoring feedback from our player community as we continue building and improving every aspect of Hades II.
Our official Discord server, linked from the game client, offers a place to leave feedback, and we will also be checking feedback here in our Steam discussion forums, and wherever else we can find public discussion about the game. We expect to make many changes and improvements inspired by our player community, and reflect these in our patch notes.
Furthermore, players may improve this game simply by playing, as anonymous gameplay data can optionally be transmitted to us, which we plan to take into account while making improvements. The combination of our impressions as a development team, feedback we’re hearing from our player community, and gameplay data we’re collecting from players all should help us form a more-complete picture of how we can make Hades II the best it can be.”
Game Features:
ABOUT THIS GAME
The first-ever sequel from Supergiant Games builds on the best aspects of the original god-like rogue-like dungeon crawler in an all-new, action-packed, endlessly replayable experience rooted in the Underworld of Greek myth and its deep connections to the dawn of witchcraft.
BATTLE BEYOND THE UNDERWORLD
As the immortal Princess of the Underworld, you’ll explore a bigger, deeper mythic world, vanquishing the forces of the Titan of Time with the full might of Olympus behind you, in a sweeping story that continually unfolds through your every setback and accomplishment.
MASTER WITCHCRAFT AND DARK SORCERY
Infuse your legendary weapons of Night with ancient magick, so that none may stand in your way. Become stronger still with powerful Boons from more than a dozen Olympian gods, from Apollo to Zeus. There are nearly limitless ways to build your abilities.
MINGLE WITH (MORE) GODS, GHOSTS, AND MONSTERS
Meet a cast of dozens of fully-voiced, larger-than-life characters, including plenty of new faces and some old friends. Grow closer to them through a variety of new interactions, and experience countless unique story events based on how your journey unfolds.
EVERY RUN IS ITS OWN ADVENTURE
New locations, challenges, upgrade systems, and surprises await as you delve into the ever-shifting Underworld again and again. Reveal the mysteries of the Arcana Altar, tame witchy familiars, and gather reagents using Tools of the Unseen to get closer to your goal.
THE PERKS OF IMMORTALITY
Thanks to a variety of permanent upgrades and the return of God Mode, you don’t have to be a god yourself to experience what Hades II has to offer. But if you happen to be one, you can brave escalating challenges for greater rewards, and prove just how divine you really are.
SIGNATURE SUPERGIANT STYLE
Rich, atmospheric presentation and storytelling fused with responsive action is the hallmark of Supergiant’s titles. Vivid new hand-painted environments, even smoother real-time 3D characters, and an electrifying original score make this mythic world burst with life.
BUILT FOR EARLY ACCESS
The original Hades was designed for Early Access from the ground up, and the same is true of Hades II. Player feedback will help shape a number of Major Updates that introduce new features, characters, environments, and more as the game gets closer to completion
Hopefully, console players will be able to join in on the fun soon.
Ahead of the new season’s start tomorrow, Respawn Entertainment has revealed the complete Apex Legends Season 21: Upheaval patch notes! This includes the abilities of incoming legend, Alter, as well as the changes to Care Packages and more.
Apex Legends Season 21: Upheaval Patch Notes:
NEW LEGEND: ALTER
Alter is an agent of chaos, primarily concerned with having fun and bringing about the end of the world. Everything is a game to her, and she is always looking for an advantage. Her kit adds an entirely unique dimension to the Apex Games, allowing her to create void passages through geo or escape through the Void to her Nexus when her enemies believe they have the upper hand. Her ability to craft unsuspecting rotations through the world will sow new levels of disorder in the ring and she can’t wait to watch the whole place burn.
PASSIVE: GIFT FROM THE RIFT
Can remotely interact with a deathbox to claim one item. Cannot be a shield core.
TACTICAL: VOID PASSAGE
Creates a portal passageway through a surface.
ULTIMATE: VOID NEXUS
Create a regroup point that all allies can remotely interact with to open a phase tunnel back to that location.
UPGRADES
Level 2 Upgrade Options
Ultimate Cooldown
Reduce Ultimate cooldown by 30s.
Void Vision
Extend highlights and see health bars after exiting Tactical.
Level 3 Upgrade Options
Eternal Nexus
Void Nexus no longer times out.
Tactical Cooldown+
Reduce Tactical cooldown by 10s.
SOLOS TAKEOVER
In case you missed it, Solos will be taking over Duos from May 7, 2024 to June 24, 2024. We’ve taken aspects of some of our most popular modes and integrated them to keep things interesting: use your Battle Sense to detect nearby enemies, tear things up with pre-kitted weapons and attachments, and keep the fight going with auto heal and Second Chance mechanics.
UPHEAVAL MAP ROTATION
The following maps will be available in Pubs and Ranked for the first half of this season:
Broken Moon
Kings Canyon
World’s Edge
BROKEN MOON MAP UPDATE
Read the full breakdown of the Broken Moon updates in our Upheaval Highlights blog here.
APEX ARTIFACTS
The pantheon of Apex Artifacts is expanding. Check out our dedicated blog for all things Apex Artifacts including lore connections and customizations.
PATCH NOTES
BALANCE UPDATES
Care Package
Wingman returns to the floor
Projectile size reduced to pre-care package values
Damage reduced to 45 (was 50)
Skullpiercer Elite removed
Hipfire accuracy reduced
Now takes Boosted Loader Hop-Up
No longer takes magazines as an attachment
Devotion enters the Care Package
NEW Reverse Hipfire: sustained hipfire will tighten accuracy instead of widen
The first loot bin opened by an unarmed player will always contain a weapon
Dev Note: Bringing knuckles to a gunfight isn’t the most engaging gameplay, so we’re improving weapon acquisition consistency in the early game. When completely unarmed, opening a bin will guarantee at least a low tier weapon.
Retrieving Banners from Death Boxes
Collecting a banner will no longer lock the player out of critical gameplay actions
Running, shooting, punching and reviving will all break out of the banner collect animation while still registering as a successful collection
Players can immediately interact with a Death Box a second time while the animation is playing or continue holding the interact button to collect and enter a Death Box in one flow
Dev Note: It’s happening, it’s finally happening! I’ve died, you’ve died, we’ve all died trying to help our allies get back in the fight, but at least now we can’t blame grabbing the banner! Collecting banners is a positive action in Apex and for too long we’ve punished that action with a brief moment of pure helplessness. We’re putting your gun quite literally back in your hands, so get out there and save some Octanes and Wraiths!
Survival Items + Support Bins
Survival items now only spawn from a support bin’s tray if the team is in need
Dev Note: Survival items have been feeling abundant lately so we’re reducing their frequency in support bins by only spawning them when players meet specific requirements (like needing a Mobile Respawn Beacon when you’ve got eliminated allies)
WEAPONS & ATTACHMENTS
30-30 Repeater
Skullpiercer Hop-Up removed
Dev Note: The 30-30 has been dominating the mid-long range for a few seasons and our recent adjustments weren’t quite enough to dethrone it. Removing the Skullpiercer should create some space for other Marksman and Sniper rifles to shine.
Charge Rifle
ADS recoil improved and stabilized
Dev Note: The Charge Rifle remains a high risk-reward weapon, however the risk slightly outweighs the reward. We’ve taken a smoothing pass at its recoil so it shouldn’t be quite so unwieldy when firing.
Longbow DMR
Skullpiercer Hop-Up removed
Barrel Stabilizer attachment removed
Base recoil significantly improved
Projectile gravity reduced
ADS in and out time reduced
Dev Note: We’ve always considered the Longbow a great entry level sniper that’s easy to run. Over time, we’ve come to realize that being a good entry level weapon and requiring lots of attachments to come online are at odds with one another. Simplifying the Longbow’s loot chase to make it more base level approachable is intended to improve its early game effectiveness and overall consistency as a sniper.
Triple-Take
Now takes Boosted Loader Hop-Up
Dev Note: The Triple-Take is a strong weapon on paper, but it can feel a bit sluggish to maximize damage output. Providing quick reloads and extra ammo in the mag allows players to keep pressuring for longer with more chances to punish.
Hop-Ups
Skullpiercer removed from the loot pool
Boosted Loader added to the loot pool
Reloading while near empty will speed up reloading and overload the next magazine with extra rounds
1x Digital Threat Optic
Removed from loot pool and all locked set weapons
Dev Note: The Digi represents a sharp power spike in Apex—a single loot item that both counters and synergies with a specific Legend. Its power ebbs and flows with the Legend meta in a way that proves very difficult to tune. We’re giving the 1x Digi a hiatus while we investigate healthier optic based perks.
LEGENDS
Ash
Arc Snare
Changed to left-hand cast
No longer stows weapons or interrupts consumable use when launching
Phase Breach: inspired by some Alter tech, nearby enemies will be highlighted for players traveling through the Void
Dev Note: It’s about time, huh? Allowing Ash to fire her Arc Snare with her off-hand has been something we’ve wanted to do for a while now. Holstering and redrawing her weapon to use the snare put Ash at a disadvantage in combat and minimized a lot of her play options. Ash should now be able to be much more active with her snare and apply pressure more aggressively when successful.
Ballistic
Whistler: damage from a planted smart bullet increased to 10 (was 5)
Upgrades
Care Package Insight: removed
NEW Sling-Shot: improves Ballistic’s base sling weapon to a blueset at Level 2 and a purpleset at Level 3
Dev Note: We’re replacing a lackluster perk with something more interesting, especially for those Ballistic players that like tapping into their sling weapons in non-Ult scenarios. Three Tac related upgrades is plenty, let’s make some room for that third weapon.
Breakout: Level 2
Lasting Bullet
Smart Bullet duration in-world is tripled.
Care Package Insight
Reveal Care Packages.
Upheaval: Level 2
Lasting Bullet
Smart Bullet duration in-world is tripled.
Sling-Shot
Sling weapon levels up with each upgrade selection.
Bloodhound
Beast of the Hunt
Cooldown increased to 4m (was 3m)
Knocks with Ult active no longer extend duration
Upgrades: Level 3
Tactical Cooldown: removed
Taste of Blood: buffed HP gain on knock to 50 (was 25)
NEW Long Hunt: knocks extend Beast of the Hunt duration
Dev Note: Beast of the Hunt has a lot of power baked into it considering perfect vision through smoke, increased move speed, and a generous extension timer. We wanted to break that down to see if players lean into a specific playstyle and ax the uninteresting hidden power of a decreased Tac cooldown. Bloodhound synergizes very well with two of the most popular Legends at the comp level, but we want to be mindful of their appeal across skill bands. We’re not doing anything big to this approachable Legend until we gauge their place at the top-end in a digi free world.
Breakout: Level 3
Taste of Blood
Gain 25 hp on knocks while Ultimate is active.
Tactical Cooldown
-5s Tac Cooldown
Upheaval: Level 3
Long Hunt
Knocks extend Beast of the Hunt duration.
Taste of Blood
Gain 50 hp on knocks while Ultimate is active.
Catalyst
Piercing Spikes
Cooldown decreased to 20s (was 25s)
Long Cast upgrade integrated into base Tactical
Dark Veil
Dark Veil length increased to 45m (was 40m)
Upgrades
Long Cast: removed
Long Veil: moved to Level 2
NEW Ferro-Door: fully rebuild and reinforce missing doors with Passive.
Dev Note: Catalyst could use some love after her Ult nerfs, and Sister Spikes needed some competition. Hopefully making Tac charges more available with a baseline cooldown buff and creating a situationally strong alternative via passive upgrade helps strike a balance. Now that the Ult upgrades are decoupled, there are some difficult choices to make at both levels that we suspect are influenced by match flow. Will you hunker down with a friendly zone pull, or will you need an upgraded wall to help with rotations?
Breakout: Level 2
Sister Spikes
Increase max number of active Spikes by one.
Long Cast
Increase Spike throw range by 40%.
Upheaval: Level 2
Long Veil
Increase Ultimate length by 15m.
Sister Spikes
Increase max number of active Spikes by one.
Breakout: Level 3
Resilient Veil
Increase Ultimate lifetime by 5s
Long Veil
Increase Ultimate length by 15m
Upheaval: Level 3
Ferro-Door
Fully rebuild and reinforce missing doors with Passive.
Resilient Veil
Increase Ultimate lifetime by 5s.
Caustic
Gas damage and slow now stops immediately after Caustic’s squad is eliminated
Gas damage ramps from 4 → 10 max (was 5 → uncapped), damage on knocked players down to flat 4 (was 5)
Conduit
Radiant Transfer
Can no longer target a Revenant while Forged Shadows is active
When Revenant activates Forged Shadows, any temporary shield generation ends immediately. Revenant will keep any temporary shields generated before activating his Ultimate.
Upgrades
Battery Collection: removed
NEW Battpack: can stack up to 3 Shield Batteries per inventory slot (doesn’t stack with Gold Backpack)
Dev Note: Conduit maintains a healthy pick rate and has cemented herself as a strong Support pick even after her last round of nerfs. We don’t want to hit her effectiveness as a Legend that pushes the tempo in combat. This is a targeted nerf to one of her synergies that felt more exploitable than we’d like.
Breakout: Level 2
Battery Collection
See Battery Count of death boxes.
Bigger Jam
Jammer damage radius increased by 20%.
Upheaval: Level 2
Battpack
Stack up to 3 batteries per inventory slot.
Bigger Jam
Jammer damage radius increased by 20%.
Crypto
Neurolink
Network Traffic upgrade now integrated into base kit
Squadcount banners are now visible anytime the drone is in a deployed state
Upgrades: Level 2
Tac & Ultimate Cooldowns: removed
Network Expansion: moved to Level 2
NEW Quick Ping: improved drone handling (faster accel/decel)
Upgrades: Level 3
NEW Satellite Imagery: drone scan persists for an additional 1.5s
NEW Hackathon: cut the drone cooldown in half, gain a speed boost anytime he uses his Ult or the drone is destroyed
Dev Note: Crypto’s upgrades at the start of Season 20 left a lot to be desired. We hope this suite of changes resonates with a couple different playstyle types—particularly when it comes to players’ affinity to pilot the drone more actively vs. passively.
Breakout: Level 2
Tactical Cooldown+
Reduce Tactical cooldown by 10 seconds.
Ultimate Cooldown
Reduce Ultimate cooldown by 20%.
Upheaval: Level 2
Network Expansion
Passive & Ult range increased by 25%.
Quick Transmission
Improved drone handling.
Breakout: Level 3
Network Expansion
Passive & Ult range increased by 25%.
Network Traffic
Deploying the drone calls out squads in the area.
Upheaval: Level 3
Hackathon
Double drone recharge rate; gain speed boost when it explodes.
Satellite Imagery
Drone scan persists for 1.5 seconds.
Fuse
Upgrades
Big Bang: removed
NEW Ring Master: gain access to Ring Consoles
Scar Tissue:
Simplified and buffed damage mitigation to remove lingering burn effects
Take a flat 20 damage when crossing The Motherlode instead of 37 (50% of 75 hp) over time
Wreckless: fixed explosive damage mitigation not being applied on continuous Knuckle Cluster hits (should only take about 32 damage from a full Knuckle Cluster now with Wreckless)
Dev Note: Fuse is destruction and chaos. The goal of these changes, whether it be a new strategic-level upgrade or a simplification of a convoluted damage model, is to bring some method to the madness.
Breakout: Level 2
Big Bang
See ordnance through walls & death boxes.
Scar Tissue
Take 50% damage and ignore slow effects of The Motherlode.
Upheaval: Level 2
Ring Master
Gain access to Ring Consoles.
Scar Tissue
Take 20 damage and ignore slow effects from The Motherlode.
Newcastle
Mobile Shield: throw anim speed increased (~2.5x faster)
Castle Wall
Will now destroy incoming projectiles headed towards the front of the wall while energized. It will not destroy projectiles fired from behind the wall nor bombardments from other Legend’s Ultimate projectiles.
Castle Wall energized duration increased to 1m (was 30s)
Upgrade – Stronghold: increased energized duration to 3m (was 2.5m)
Dev Note: The Castle Wall’s in-game strength rarely matches the grandeur of its presentation. More often than not, the wall serves as a grenade beacon to surrounding threats knowing that Newcastle just jumped to an ally in distress. An Ultimate-level wall should not fail as much as it does, especially on a Support Legend that’s built around turning the tide when his squad starts losing the advantage. The wall now requires more calculated counterplay and makes the Stronghold upgrade a more compelling option. We were also finding the long wind-up when tossing his Mobile Shield left him pretty vulnerable trying to get back to his weapon, so we’ve sped up the animation to let him be more reactive with it.
Octane
Upgrades
Wreckless: removed
Mad Hops moved to Level 2
Thick Skin: now Level 2 and 3, updated to take 5 less Stim damage to reflect that it can be selected twice (was -25%)
Dev Note: Octane has a “Plus Ultra” tattoo, so we shouldn’t inhibit his ability to double down on his tac or ult. While Wreckless was thematically fun, Octane already has one of the best forms of explosive damage mitigation that’s less hidden: stim away.
Breakout: Level 2

RANKED
All players in a premade Ranked squad must be within 3 Rank tiers of each other or they will not be allowed to progress to matchmaking
No tuning changes to be made to ranked scoring for the launch of Upheaval
Dev Note: While we are happy with how Breakout Ranked was received, there is some feedback that we want to address for the start of Upheaval. As always, we’ll be monitoring feedback and data for any required tuning changes during the season and any major updates required for the future.
Season Reset
Where you ended in your last season of Ranked will determine where you start in Upheaval
If you ended your last season in Rookie, you will be reset to 1 RP
If you ended your last season above Rookie, you will be reset to Bronze IV
Split Timing
Split 2 will take place at the same time as the .1 patch, not a week after like in previous seasons
Upheaval Ranked Rewards
Your end-of-season rewards will now be determined by the highest Rank tier you achieved during the entire season
Split Rewards: your season-end reward badge will be animated if you match or surpass your Split 1 Rank in Split 2
If you do not achieve this, you will get the normal version of your badge

While we usually get patches on a Tuesday, it seems Behaviour Interactive managed to have this new title update for Dead by Daylight pass certification ahead of time.
In XDefiant’s Year 1 Roadmap, it mentions “Player Protection” as one of the main things players can look forward to during the game’s first four seasons. For those thinking that this means that SBMM (Skill-Based Matchmaking) will come into play after launch, don’t be.
Over on Twitter/X, Executive Producer Mark Rubin confirmed that the XDefiant player protection being mentioned there is about cheaters, toxicity and the like, and not about SBMM.
Player protection refers to cheaters and toxic players. We don't use sbmm in casual play unless you play in the welcome playlist.
As you can see, Rubin confirmed that SBMM won’t be available unless you’re in the “welcome” playlist. This alone should make a lot of games enjoyable and less predictable.
What Is SBMM?
Skill-based matchmaking, or more commonly known as SBMM, is a matching system a game uses to find other players for the player to compete against.
While different factors are considered, the chief priority of this seems to be matching you with the same skill level thus making sure each match is a competitive one. While this is fine in theory, it does lead to a predictable experience, and one that has leads to all games being “sweaty,” which can be very tiring on gamers.
The Call of Duty franchise has been chastised by fans with how strict the SBMM has been for the last few releases, which means almost every game you play in feels like you’re competing for the world championships.
If you did play the XDefiant server test session and felt that matches felt a bit sweaty or that you were playing against some damn good enemies, then you probably were. Rubin adds that in beta, it’s usually the “top players” who are participating rather than casuals, which is understandable.
XDefiant will launch this May 21 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with the PS4 and Xbox One versions now officially cancelled. You can check out the launch content for the F2P game here.
Stay tuned for coverage of the shooter here on MP1st, as we’ll be hosting gun guides, opinion pieces and more about it.
The next character dropping for Mortal Kombat 1 is none other than The Boys’ TV show’s Homelander. NetherRealm Studios has now given us a sneak peek at the superhero, and as one might expect, he uses his powers to good use.
The Mortal Kombat 1 Homelander sneak peek doesn’t really showcase raw gameplay, but we do see some of the superhero’s fatalities in action.
As an added bonus, you can even see Homelander drink milk at the start of the clip, which is something The Boys fans should be familiar with (though not in good taste).
For those that didn’t know, Antony Starr, the actor playing Homelander in the TV show, won’t be providing voice work for the character in-game. Hopefully, that won’t be too jarring for the show’s fans who use the character.
When Will Homelander Be Available in MK1?
No release date or timeframe has been given yet, though the trailer description does mention The Boys Season 4 starting on June 13, so could NetherRealm be scheduling the DLC to be available on that day as well? We wouldn’t be surprised if so, but that’s still over a month away. We can also see the studio pushing out the character sooner given we’re getting teases now.
Stay tuned to more Mortal Kombat 1 news here on MP1st. Once we know what changes are incoming with the title update that brings in Homelander, we’ll let our readers know.
In other Mortal Kombat 1 news, NetherRealm boss Ed Boon mentions that a “lot more” stuff are planned to be released for the game. Given how well NetherRealm has supported past Mortal Kombat titles, we’re included to agree, and if the datamine from last September is any indication, we should be getting a lot more crossovers soon.
Visual Concepts has released NBA 2K24 update 1.013 and as far as we can tell, this is for current-gen (PS5, Xbox Series X|S) versions only. Read on for the NBA 2K24 May 6 patch notes posted down below.

After a ton of backlash, Sony has finally caved, as Helldivers 2’s PSN account linking requirement for PC players has been rescinded! This announcement was made just now, with the game’s publisher (Sony) stating that they are “still learning what is best for PC players.”
Helldivers fans — we’ve heard your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and for current players beginning May 30, will not be moving forward.
“Helldivers fans — we’ve heard your feedback on the Helldivers 2 account linking update. The May 6 update, which would have required Steam and PlayStation Network account linking for new players and for current players beginning May 30, will not be moving forward.
We’re still learning what is best for PC players and your feedback has been invaluable. Thanks again for your continued support of Helldivers 2 and we’ll keep you updated on future plans.”
This puts an end to this controversy where even the Helldivers 2 devs at Arrowhead Game Studios came under fire for snarky responses, and players losing access to the game due to PSN being unsupported in certain countries.
Hopefully, this puts an end to this issue, and players can move forward to just playing the game. Moving forward, let’s hope Sony is more aware of the challenges in forcing players to sign up for a PSN account, and perhaps make it available in more countries as well.
While we already know that a new legend is on the way this coming week for Apex Legends, we now know just what Alter can do on the battlefield. Respawn Entertainment has revealed the Apex Legends Alter abilities, new events and more incoming this May 7.
There’s also a gameplay trailer available as well, and as one might expect, it features Alter.
Apex Legends Alter Abilities:
PASSIVE: GIFT FROM THE RIFT
Alter can see and remotely interact with nearby death boxes to claim a single item. While she cannot take shield cores through the void, any other prize can be snatched from afar.
TACTICAL: VOID PASSAGE
Alter fires a void blast from her tail that shatters against a surface to open a dimensional gateway through from one side to the other for a short time. Crossing through the portal is instantaneous, and can be done from either direction, but travelers will remain phased briefly after exiting.
The angle of this shot determines what surface the exit will open on and can be used to open passages through ceilings and ledges, allowing Alter to place her passages creatively through the environment.
ULTIMATE: VOID NEXUS
Alter can deploy a Void Nexus that allies can remotely interact with to open a phase tunnel back to that point. When a tunnel is opened, that player will phase walk from their location to the Void Nexus and leave behind a portal that any player can follow through. The Nexus can be used even while downed, and it is an incredible way for Alter and her squad to regroup to a position of power for a reset, provided interlopers do not pursue…
Alongside Alter, there are a slew of updates set to be rolled out! Solos iks coming back and replacing Duos from the beginning of the season alongside other stuff.
Solo Takeover – Players will dive into Solos Takeover, replacing Duos at the beginning of the season. It’s every Legend for themselves out there.
Broken Moon Shatters – A lunar nightmare becomes a reality as Olympus crashes into Cleo’s stasis node, reshaping the battlefield with new POIs and a streamlined map, ripe for spreading havoc.
Apex Artifacts – Legends can customize each variant’s Theme, Power Source and more with Exotic Shards – mixing and matching to craft a player’s own calling card of destruction.
You can check out the map changes to Broken Moon and more here.
Once the title update for Upheaval is available, we’ll let our readers know. We expect it to drop this Monday, May 6, with the new legend and other new stuff available on May 7.
While we posted a leaked cinematic that spliced in cutscenes with what seemed to be gameplay three months ago, we more info to share today, as leaked Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 test gameplay has surfaced, and they give us a sneak peek at some of the game’s mechanics.
There’s a lot of videos to take in, so if you’d rather experience this all the way Insomniac Games wants you to, best not to watch any of the videos.
Leaked Marvel’s Wolverine PS5 Test Gameplay Footage:
There are a lot of videos showcasing Wolverine’s Rage Mode (think: God of War’s Kratos’ Spartan Mode), wall run testing, and one featuring combat. Before diving in, note that the footage below is from an early build not meant to be seen by the general public, and as such, the game shouldn’t be judged based on it at all.
If you want to watch all the footage, best to do it ASAP, as Sony will no doubt take these down soon.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-izgy0gQJMg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRF5g0bpWes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XPnhnZ5mTMw
As you can plainly see, the animations, graphics, environments are all in very, very early stages of production. Heck, the Rage Mode sound is even that from Kratos from God of War, which we’re presuming is placeholder given Insomniac Games i just testing stuff.
In addition to that, there’s footage where Wolverine is fighting a Sentinel, Wolverine doing a stealth kill and more!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LEGUNt4LKHA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J62ftuvVlpA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEhwXqrTKXw
There’s even one of the opening cutscene (incomplete, of course), alongside footage of Logan at home, and an epic boss fight!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1l3YmSFKkU
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5ecObxS-RI
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PnZR_Un9pYY
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xoTf0AgqqeU
Now, that’s a lot to take in for a game that doesn’t even have an official gameplay trailer yet. All of the footage and info comes from the massive Insomniac Games ransomware attack, which Insomniac gave a statement about back in December 2023.
Following the recent change to the game requiring players to link a PlayStation account in order to play, the Helldivers 2 PSN controversy has received a deeper response from the devs. After apologizing for some insensitive comments, Arrowhead’s confirmed they’re on the same side as the players and are trying to work with Sony to get the requirement changed.
When players first began complaining about the change in the game’s official Discord server, Community Manager Spitz responded with comments that many found to be snarky. These comments have since been removed from the Discord but are still available to view in a tweet from Helldivers 2 Media:
— Helldivers 2 Media (@Helldiversmedia) May 3, 2024
“It’s not like this is the first or even the fourteenth mainstream game to require a third-party account that takes a couple minutes to create, but if it’s a dealbreaker to have to take 120 seconds out of your day to enter an email and password and then forget about it, change your Steam review and make your displeasure known on a platform where it matters.”
Since then, Spitz has apologized for their response and emphasized Arrowhead’s sympathy for players, stating that the team is highly displeased with the changes as well. You can see the responses summarized in a post from Navar4477 on the Helldivers subreddit:
The CM, or Spitz, had the following to say regarding the recent account changes:
“Internal discussions are ongoing about the mandatory linking change and while I can’t reveal details, the response from our dev teams has been pretty universally negative and we’re looking for better options.
If a better solution isn’t provided for players who are in regions without PSN coverage, I’m assured that we won’t be making the requirement mandatory for those players. We’re not going to force people to either break Sony terms of service (TOS) or not play the game. That change, the Steam announcement, and the FAQ are all coming from Sony and not our team at Arrowhead.
Players making their displeasure known through reviews, refunds, etc. gives us more pull in the discussions with Sony. They don’t read our Discord. It hurts to see the game’s popularity suffer in ratings, but discussions are ongoing and our team is on the side of the players in this fight. It’s unrealistic to expect people to make PSN accounts in different regions to get past the account linking requirement. We’re aware of that. Discussions are ongoing.”
Spritz also apologized for the inflammatory statements they made yesterday in response to the initial outrage which criticized players for complaining about a fairly easy account creation process:
“Yeah, I was completely unaware how many countries didn’t have the ability to make a PSN account when I made that statement. I deeply regret implying that it was so easy for everyone to just sign up and not have to worry about it. It’s absolutely not our intention to force people to break Sony TOS or just not play the game if they’re in a restricted region. There needs to be a better solution.”
Helldivers 2’s been very well-received and has had record-breaking player counts for Sony on PC in couple of months since launch. It’s a bummer to see the game get hammered down so suddenly, but it’s entirely fair for players to be upset about the new requirements, especially those in countries where they literally have no choice. Hopefully, Sony listens and makes necessary changes in the next couple of days.
Following the announcement that Helldivers 2 players will need to link their Steam account to a PlayStation Network account, it seems the unthinkable happened: someone lost access to play Helldivers 2 due to linking their Steam account to a newly created PlayStation Network account,
This happened to a player based in China, who saw their account access revoke and is being asked to contact PlayStation Support. For those unaware, PlayStation Network accounts are not supported in China, and the player used a VPN (Virtual Private Network) to create it.
For those in China, you can technically create a PSN account via Hong Kong, though again, there is a chance of issues happening, but it’s worth a shot.
Currently, the PlayStation Network is officially available in only 69 countries. While players can use VPNs, or sign up for another region, there are complications associated with it, and don’t forget, it is in the TOS (Terms of Service) that Sony can terminate your account because of this. One example of this complication? In other countries it is mandatory that you show your face in creating an account/ID, which I don’t think everyone is fine with.
It's also the fact I'm forced to hand over a phone number, ID or facial scan just to MAKE the bloody account in the UK. XBOX doesn't ask you for that sort of stuff when you make it. Also the fact they've had so many data breaches so I doubt said information is safe in their hands
While Arrowhead Game Studios’ boss has already said that they are discussing things with Sony for a possible solution, there’s no timeframe on this or if we’re even going to see an actual solution crop up. I honestly see a lot of people asking for refunds because of this, or heck, even a lawsuit? It looks like things are going to turn ugly (if it hasn’t already) real fast.
Have you encountered issues connecting your Steam to PSN in Helldivers 2? We’ll keep a close eye on what’s happening and let our readers know of future developments.
It will be interesting to see if this affects the player base significantly, and how it will affect this coming week’s new Warbond, Polar Patriots,
While Capcom has not released any details or even announced Resident Evil 9, we all know it’s coming given how well the franchise’s main entries sell. If recent rumors are to be believed, it’ll be revealed very soon and will be released in the early part of 2025.
The rumor comes from DuskGolem, developer and known leaker of things (though his hit rate isn’t as flawless, they generally come from somewhere in the know as opposed to guesswork). In a series of tweets, DuskGolem mentioned that Resident Evil 9 has been in development since 2018, and that it was in development alongside Resident Evil 8 (or more properly titled as Resident Evil Village).
(3/5) Just to explain something, RE9 started early dev in early 2018 as a possible RE8. Village has started dev as RE8, then became a spin-off title, then ultimately became RE8 again. This game became RE9 ultimately, & yes, RE8 & RE9 were in dev at the same time. RE games are
— AestheticGamer aka Dusk Golem (@AestheticGamer1) May 3, 2024
For the sake of an easier read, we’ve compiled DuskGolem’s tweets into text below.
“I have good news/rumors to deliver on Resident Evil 9. The possible delay I had heard murmurs about can be pushed aside. RE9 should be revealed pretty soon & release next year. If what I heard previously holds true, should be in January. It’ll have had about 7 years in dev.
January 2025 I hadn’t heard now, just been a date I’d heard previously they probably are still aiming for, but never know in game dev.
I won’t leak/rumor any other details of the game, just let Capcom do their thing & let them surprise people.
Just to explain something, RE9 started early dev in early 2018 as a possible RE8. Village has started dev as RE8, then became a spin-off title, then ultimately became RE8 again. This game became RE9 ultimately, & yes, RE8 & RE9 were in dev at the same time. RE games are
usually greenlit in batches & planned out for a few years to keep the series “near annual”. As I’ve said a few times before, there was this funny period in 2018 that RE:2, RE:3, RE:4, RE8 & RE9 were all in dev at the same time. There’s something kinda’ similar that happened
recently as another batch of RE games were greenlit in early 2023. RE9 has the biggest budget & longest dev time of any RE game to date, & I’ve described previously as “ambitious”. None of this last part is new, it’s stuff I’ve been reiterating for years.”
Of course, this goes without saying that this news is in no way official, and should be treated with a huge bag of salt. That said, if Capcom surprises gamers with a Resident Evil 9 announcement this June, don’t be that surprised, alright?
If DuskGolem’s RE9 rumor is true, then gamers are in for something special. I mean, an RE game with the biggest budget and longest dev time? Yeah, sign me up! There’s no way it’ll be as bad as Resident Evil 6, right? Right?? (Someone please agree with me here).
For now, Capcom has not announced or confirmed Resident Evil 9 or any Resident Evil game for that matter, which we’re expecting to change soon. Other than RE9, we’re also expecting Resident Evil Code Veronica and/or Resident Evil 5 to get the remake treatment as well. If it’s the same quality as Resident Evil 4’s remake, then by all means, Capcom, go ahead.
