Dragon’s Dogma 2 – How to Delete Your Game Save and Back It Up to Start a New Game

Despite what many are saying online, you can, in fact, delete your Dragon’s Dogma 2 game save, back it up, and restore it whenever you like, though it’s a bit of a hassle. So we’ll walk you through the process, showing exactly how you can delete and back up your save in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

With Dragon’s Dogma 2 now officially released, many are noticing that the game only supports one save file, with no means of deleting it from in-game. Sadly, there really isn’t an option to do that from within the game, but every platform does have a method to back up the save file, while also allowing you to start a new game whenever. Here’s how.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 How to Delete Your Game Save and Back It Up (PC):

First and foremost, Dragon’s Dogma 2 does not store your saved data online in any capacity on any platform. Whatever other players have said, this simply isn’t true. However, if you are playing on Steam and you have tried to delete your save, only to come back and see it still there, then chances are you have cloud backup enabled, and Steam is forcing that save to load every time.

So you are going to want to turn that off ASAP, which Steam has detailed for individual games and for all games.

Individual games:
  • From the Steam Library, right-click on any game and select
    Properties…
  • Under the General tab, the Cloud Synchronization setting can be toggled.
All games:
  • From the Steam client Settings window, navigate to the
    Cloud tab.
  • Cloud can be enabled or disabled using the toggle next to
Enable Steam Cloud Sync for applications that support it

Once this is done, you can move on to manually backing up and deleting your saved data. To do this, navigate to the following directory on your computer.

  • YOUR DRIVE WHERE STEAM IS INSTALLED\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\YOUR USER ID\2054970\remote\win64_save

You’ll see a set of files in this folder. Back these up by copying and pasting them anywhere on your PC. I would put them inside a dedicated folder and name that folder to whatever you want, such as a certain character build. That way, you know exactly what the file is.

Now, you can delete the files from the Steam directory above, boot into Dragon’s Dogma, and start a fresh save. If you want to restore your old save, copy the save files you backed up into that directory while deleting the others.

It’s a bit of a hassle, I know, but for those spreading the information that you can’t back up or delete it, this is completely untrue. It just takes a little bit of work.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 How to Delete Your Game Save and Back It Up (Consoles):

For console players, you’ll be slightly restrictive in what you can do with your game save. Xbox will automatically back up your game save, while PlayStation requires PlayStation Plus. You can manually upload the save on the PS5, or let the auto upload kick in. The downside here is that you can’t have multiple saves backed up. So, if you replace your new save with the one stored online, you lose that save forever. If you back up your stored save with a new one, you will also lose that old one forever. PC players are unaffected by that, as they can make as many backups as they want.

As for deleting Dragon’s Dogma 2 saved data, here’s how for each platform.

Xbox Series X|S

  1. On Home, select My games & apps.
  2. Highlight the game, press the Menu button on your controller, then select Manage game & add-ons.
  3. Select the Saved data box, then choose the item you want to delete.

PS5

  1. Go to settings
  2. Go to Saved Data and Game/App Settings
  3. Select Saved Data (PS5) and the Upload or Delete from Console Storage.
  4. Navigate to Dragon’s Dogma 2. If you have PS Plus you can upload it, otherwise select the delete option if you want to start a new game.

Again, Capcom does not store your saved data on their servers. I have been using this method flawlessly for the last two weeks during my review of Dragon’s Dogma 2, and I even tested it during the official launch and had no problems backing up the save, deleting it, starting a new game, and then restoring the old one. We’ve had other staff members test this themselves, too. You can delete your saved data on any platform, though only a PC allows you to easily back up as much as you want.

I do agree, and it was noted in our review that the save system should be better than this and even allow more than one saved data. Hopefully, Capcom will listen to that feedback and put a better system in place because it’s not a good one.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 – Where to Find Formless Feint, the Best Ability for the Thief

In an earlier article, we mentioned how the Thief vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the best one of the lot. If you did pick that vocation, there is one ability you absolutely must need, here’s where you can friend Formless Feint in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 – Where to Find Formless Feint

During the main campaign in Dragon’s Dogma 2, Captain Brant will give give the players multiple story quests to complete. Not all of these must be completed to progress the story, though it is recommended, as some of them have incredible rewards. One such quest is to investigate the false Solvran mission, which has players venture far east to a Nameless Village.

The only problem is while sticking to the road, the way to get there is completely blocked by a landslide. So, how do you get on the other side? Well, you should have gone past a fire camp while making your way to the blocked road, so backtrack there and head to it. From there, if you look past and below it, you should see a new path you can follow. This path will get you to the Nameless Village. We’ve marked it on the map below.

Dragon's Dogma 2 - Where to Find Formless Feint

Once you arrive, head all the way up the path to the building and go inside. A person is standing inside, and you’ll need to talk to a person here, and he’ll give you Blades of the Pyre.

Now, there are a couple of different things you can do. The first is to sleep at the inn until nightfall. If you go this route, you should see three NPCs heading up to the building when you go outside. Follow them, but not too closely, and they will take you to a secret lair.

Alternatively, you could just go to the secret lair immediately without waiting until nightfall. It’s outside, to the left of the building, with the guy who gave you the Blades of the Pyre ability. Looking at the map above, you can see it marked with a cavern symbol.

Inside this secret liar is a trial you must complete. It’s very easy as all it involves is you jumping around.

At the end, you’ll discover the secret hideout of the Thief guild. Talk to this character, and he will give you Formless Feint.

Now, if you are wondering why this ability is considered to be the best one for the Thief, and probably out of any other Vocation ability, it’s because it makes you practically untouchable. Upon using it, your character will be surrounded by smoke. During combat, if any enemy attacks, your character will auto-dodge. This works for nearly any attack in the game, and you can follow up quickly with an attack, making fights super easy to win, including bosses.

The only downside is that this ability consumes stamina while it’s activated, so you’ll need to keep an eye on that during combat.

Again, this is easily the thief’s best ability to learn, which also happens to make it one of, if not the best vocation, in Dragon’s Dogma 2. So if you plan on maining the thief, grab this ability as soon as possible.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 – Where to Find a Place With Plenty of Tomes

If you’re looking for a place with plenty of tomes in Dragon’s Dogma 2, then you’ve come to the right place, as we show exactly where to find this hidden story objective.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 – Where to Find a Place With Plenty of Tomes

Upon reaching the capital, Vernworth, you’ll be tasked with meeting Captain Brant. He’ll fill you in on the situation going on around the city and elsewhere, offering you several missions to complete in order to progress the story. One of these missions, called “The Caged Magistrate,” has you breaking a prisoner out from his jail cell. The only problem is that he doesn’t want to go with you unless you find him a place with a “mountain of tomes.”

This begins the next part of the quest, “Find a place with plenty of tomes.” However, the game does not give you any sort of objective marker, leaving the task of finding this place entirely up to you. There’s not, and visiting the oracle, she’ll give you a hint but not the exact location. The hint she gives is:

“Consider thy path with a cautious eye and an open mind, lest the light of revelation forsake thee.”

It’s pretty vague compared to some of the other tips she offers, but for those who know anything about religion, the “light of revelation” is referring to god. Ther just so happens to be a church located right in the slums, which should have been the location you exited from the prison from.

In this spot, you’ll see a church and an old man named Kendrick standing in front of it. Talk to him, and some options to donate to the church will appear. I opted to give him 1000 coins, though you’ll need to talk to him and donate to him a second time. Once you do, he will ask you to find a missing kid named Malcolm. This will start “The Heel of History” quest and will require you to locate Malcolm.

Inside the slum, there are three kids to talk to: one inside the church, one directly in front of the church, and the last one by the second, overlooking the sea.

Once you’ve spoken to all three kids, you’ll report back to Kendrick. From here, things are pretty self-explanatory as he’ll take you to the next spot, which is underground. It’s not a big area, and eventually, you find Malcolm inside a vault. This vault just so happens to house an archive, the perfect place for the Magistrate.

Go back to the prison, and the Magistrate will now agree to leave. Lead him outside. This will complete the quest, allowing you to report back to Captain Brant.

Congrats on finishing the quest!  Don’t feel bad if this one took you a while to figure it out, trust me, we were running around trying to find this spot for hours before realizing we had to talk to the NPC near the church. We didn’t think a side quest would be mandatory to complete one of the optional story quests, but that’s exactly what needed to happen.

The rest of Captain Brants’ requests are pretty straightforward, so you shouldn’t have too much on an issue solving those.

Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Best Vocation Is the Thief and Here’s Why

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is finally out, and while we’re sure you have plenty of questions to ask about the adventure you’re about to embark on, the first one that’ll likely come to mind is which vocation is the best one in Dragon’s Dogma 2? Well, that’s a matter of what play style you like, but if there were one we had to pick as the best, then undoubtedly, it would have to be the Thief. Here’s why.

Why is Thief the Best Vocation in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

Let me get this out of the way right now. I suck at Dragon’s Dogma 2. I’m not going to pretend I’m an expert in all the vocations and their play style. There’s probably a better vocation than the Thief; it’s just that mastering them takes real time, practice, and a full understanding of how they work.

It’s for that reason that the Thief is probably the best vocation for new players, as it requires little to no effort to master. In fact, the Thief is probably the most straightforward vocation available. It’s fast, agile, and deals an insane amount of damage in a short time. They lack any AOE damage compared to the other vocations, but given their speed and how quickly they can deal with enemies, what they lack in is more than made up for with their other abilities.

In general, the Thief vocation is very easy to play. When I say very easy, I mean dumb easy. The character moves so fast and attacks so swiftly that dealing with enemies and even bosses is a breeze compared to a lot of the other vocations, which are slower in movement and attacks.

Starting my journey off, I can tell you I felt pretty miserable with my starting vocation, which was Fighter. I eventually made my way through some of the other vocations, and I can’t say that feeling changed much. It’s not because those vocations are bad or anything, because I’ve seen plenty of players using them the way they should be used; it’s just that I suck. There’s no way to talk around it; I’m horrible at this game.

I was reluctant to switch to the Thief through most of my playthrough only because I knew from the previous games that it, too, was considered by many (me included) as the best class to use. To the surprise of no one, that’ll probably end up being the same case for Dragon’s Dogma 2 because it’s such an accessible vocation.

If you know you’re going to have a hard time with this game or aren’t feeling the other vocations are giving you the fast-paced combat you desire, then I highly recommend switching to Thief. Sure, it’s an up close and personal playstyle that puts you at risk of taking damage, but its available and unlockable skills provide you with more than enough distance to evade enemies. Plus, it has a dedicated quick dash that the other vocations don’t have, making it easy to dodge attacks.

It’s not just a good starter vocation either, as the Thief vocation proves to be one of the most powerful vocations during the late game. It also gets one of the best moves out of every vocation called “Formless Feint.” What it does is allow players to essentially auto-dodge attacks. It consumes stamina while doing so, so you have to be careful and keep an eye on that, but otherwise, this ability alone will probably get you through most of the game without dying. You can learn where to find Formless Feint in our other guide.

It’s pretty overpowered, and I can definitely see Capcom nerfing it in the future. Other abilities, like Skull Spinner, deal a ton of damage and, in many cases, nearly kill an enemy in one use.

With those two abilities, you’ll find Theif to be a powerful vocation where you can easily avoid and deal damage simultaneously.

Of course, as I said, the other vocations can be just as good, but for new players or those looking to make the game easier, this is the go-to vocation I highly recommend.

Gundam fans who have always wanted an immersive VR experience will soon get their wish, as Bandai Namco Filmworks and Atlas V have released a brand-new teaser for their upcoming Meta Quest VR experience, Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom Teaser Trailer:

Described as a “virtual interactive movie,” Mobile Suit Gundam: Silver Phantom will soon be available on the wishlist via the Meta Quest Store. More on the title is expected to be shown off during Anime Japan tomorrow, and hopefully, we’ll get our first look at the interactive side of it.

As far as the teaser itself goes, there’s not much to learn about the story outside of it being set during Universal Century 0096. But for those longtime fans, you probably noticed a few familiar mobile suits in the teaser. Here are the ones we spotted in the order shown in the trailer.

  • Zaku 2.
  • Jegan GM (with Gundam Beam Rifle).
  • Zaku 2 Red Zssa GM chased by Geara Doga (?).
  • Two suits we aren’t familiar with.
  • Geara Doga.
  • Guncannon.
  • The new Gundam.

This is a teaser, too, so expect to see more mobile suits when the full reveal arrives, which is expected to happen at Anime Japan tomorrow.

PSVR2 Firmware Update Shows Early Signs of PC Support via Cable Connection

When PlayStation announced that they were looking into PC support for PlayStation VR2, some in the VR gaming space speculated that this would come in the form of streaming rather than native support. Well, it seems that won’t be the case, as the latest update for the PSVR2 has stripped away some of the restrictions that prevented it from natively working on PC.

That is at least according to VR/AR expert Brad Lynch and VR software and hardware maker iVRy, who both chimed in to confirm that the latest software update for the PSVR2 has removed some barriers, making it now possible to access on PC without any crazy hardware workaround.

Previously, the hardware required Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) and DisplayPort Compression (DSC), which iVRy was working on circumventing with custom hardware. iVRy followed up by stating that some sort of adaptor will still be required due to the power needed for the headset, with the limited number of GPUs capable of doing so due to discontinued support.

It’s speculated that we’ll see some official driver support from PlayStation, with an official adapter to make the PSVR2 compatible with PC.

The good news is that all this points to the headset working natively on PC rather than streaming your PC library through the PS5.  As silly as that sounds, some did believe that would be the case.

Of course we won’t know until an official announcement is made by PlayStation, but things are certainly looking good for the PCVR community.

Alone in the Dark Review – Derceto Never Looked Better

Alone in the Dark originally released in 1992, before many of you reading this were even born. Revolutionary in its time, this survival horror franchise hasn’t seen the light since the oft-maligned 2015 online co-op release Alone in the Dark: Illumination, as Atari sold the rights to THQ Nordic in 2018. Six years after that sale, and almost a full decade since the last release, can Pieces Interactive pick up the, well, pieces, and deliver a faithful third reboot of this age-old series? Our review reveals the answer.

Welcome Back to Derceto

The Unreal Engine 4 runs the show, and it’s more than capable of keeping things smooth. On the PS5, there is the usual choice between Quality or Performance mode, where the engine targets 4K at 30fps for Quality, and up-scaled 1080p at 60fps for Performance mode. Most people will probably choose Performance, though I am partial to Quality mode myself. Things certainly ran better than the freely-available prologue Grace in the Dark, which ran quite choppily.  Perhaps Pieces Interactive were using an earlier version of the game to build the free episode, but it’s not the best impression to make on potential customers. There are also some filters that let you use much blockier character and lighting models, in a funny nod to the original game from the ’90s.

Alone in the Dark takes place back in the place that started it all, Derceto Manor in Louisiana. Originally the home of artist Jeremy Hartwood, it has been turned into a mental hospital. He has penned a letter to his niece Emily which had disturbing descriptions, which pointed to perhaps a bout of some sort of mania. Concerned, she travels to the Manor with a hired private investigator, Edward Carnby, though it quickly becomes clear that all is not what it seems and it might not be mania but something supernatural after all. You can play as either Emily or Edward, with separate campaigns for each, though the story unfolds in a similar fashion regardless. A true ending can also be unlocked by completing both characters’ campaign, thus encouraging at least two playthroughs.

lone in the Dark Q&A

Play It in a Weekend

Those playthroughs will take most gamers 6-10 hours to complete, depending on difficulty level chosen and whether or not you plan on taking your time to pick up collectibles. Alone in the Dark calls its collectibles Lagniappes, and there are various sets of them that unlock additional lore when completed. Some Lagniappes are exclusive to one character, so completing a few of these sets will require at least one more playthrough. With this requirement, that effectively doubles the playtime, though since the story stays largely the same, subsequent runs will no doubt be a bit shorter.

Alone in the Dark features a voiceover cast of more traditional actors, with Jodie Comer from Killing Eve (a TV show) voicing Emily Hartwood, and David Harbour of Stranger Things fame voicing Detective Carnby. Their performances are pretty good, especially considering neither had done this type of acting before. There’s a couple of odd deliveries from time to time, but overall it’s believable that they are actually those characters. The rest of the cast also turns in a good performance. Complementing the voice work is a jazzy soundtrack that so perfectly fits the era and location, with collaboration from Jason Köhnen, a doom jazz artist, which I did not know was a genre of music until reading about and playing this game. The audio work really adds to the mood of the game, which is a bit like a noir film, but with paranormal entities mixed in for good measure.

alone in the dark new release date

Clunky Combat

Combat is an occasional occurrence in Alone in the Dark, which is probably for the best because it’s definitely a shakier feature compared to the story and audio work. The camera is at a good distance from the player for taking in a room, but the zoom when aiming down sights can make for some awkward shooting. On the normal difficulty, there is usually enough ammunition laying around to kill all of the current area’s enemies, and if you run out of bullets you can also use melee weapons. Those close-range weapons wear out over time, however I did uncover a bug whereby picking up a new weapon, and then picking up the weapon you just put down will give you back your earlier weapon, completely repaired. Melee weapons don’t seem to have different strengths or weaknesses, though, so this mostly became a way to ensure I always had at least one spare weapon if I broke my current one.

Derceto Manor is a labyrinth mansion, which becomes more unlocked the further into the story you get. Alone in the Dark features various toggles that affect how much the game will give you hints as to what to do next. Even with all of the guide options turned on, however, at certain points in the adventure I had to scour every room I’d been in lately, in order to find some key item I missed. The hints are helpful, but sometimes unintuitive.

A Good Return

Alone in the Dark has an entertaining story that is expanded upon via narrated slips of typewritten paper, which honestly made me want to go and read an actual book. With its playtime no longer than 20 hours for most players who use both characters, it doesn’t overstay its welcome. It’s a single-player, offline game as the series is best known for. This does feel like a return to form, and with some polish, a sequel could help bring this venerable series into the spotlight again.

Alone in the Dark is a fine survival horror game which, while not reinventing the genre, provides for a succinct, well-produced, entertaining story that has incentive to replay at least once. There are a couple of rough combat sequences, but overall if you want an unsettling, focused adventure set around a century ago, then Alone in the Dark should be exactly what you’re looking for.

Score: 7.5/10

Pros:

  • Great story and setting
  • Good voice performances, stellar soundtrack
  • Just-right playtime

Cons:

  • Clunky combat
  • Occasionally unintuitive hints
  • Nothing really innovative to set it apart

PATCH NOTES

BALANCE UPDATES

Care Package

  • First set of Care Packages
    • Care Package weapons removed
    • Seasonal Gold weapons now spawn in their place (R-301, RE-45, Mastiff, Devotion, 30-30)
  • Second and third set of Care Packages are unchanged

Dev Notes: Over the seasons, we’ve been improving the lethality of crate weapons to increase excitement and usefulness. This has led to early Care Package weapons feeling disproportionately strong, so we’ve decided to push them to later in the game rather than pulling back on their strength. Offering gold weapons in their stead keeps the early drops relevant but not as dominant.

Weapon Spawn Rates

  • Assault Rifle and Marksman Rifle spawn rates normalized per zone

Dev Notes: Normalizing these spawn rates should smooth out the looting experience and ammo economy across maps when it comes to weapon variety. Ex. the 30-30 had a higher spawn chance than a Triple Take in high tier zones—they now have the same spawn chance in high tier zones.

WEAPONS

CAR (from Season 20 launch, missed in Patch Notes)

  • ADS vertical recoil slightly increased

EVA-8 [Care Package]

  • Blast pattern tightened
  • Initial projectile size increased
  • Improved handling
  • Reduce ammo reserves to 64 (was 96)

Dev Notes: We’re satisfied with how the EVA-8 is performing in very close quarters combat, but it falls a bit short just outside of barrel-stuff range. We hope an improvement to its blast pattern, projectile size, and handling speed will round out its place as a CQC monster.

Rampage

  • Energize time slightly reduced to better match the animation

Dev Notes: The Rampage LMG energize time was slightly misaligned with the buff kicking in, resulting in unintentional interruptions right as it was about to finish. This adjustment tightens all that up.

Wingman [Care Package]

  • Ammo Reserves decreased to 72 (was 90)
  • Can no longer equip the 1x Digital Threat
  • Optic is no longer locked and can be replaced

Dev Notes: At the start of the season, we locked the optic to the 1x HCOG as a stop-gap fix to remove the Digital Threat from the Wingman. Digi on Wingman represents an immense power spike, and our preference is to keep the power of the Wingman in the weapon and not the optic.

LEGENDS

Ballistic

  • Upgrades
    • Ammuvision: removed
    • Lasting Bullet: moved to Level 2
    • NEW Speedy Whistler: successful hits with Tactical give a 2s burst of speed (Level 3)

Dev Note: Ballistic didn’t receive the full suite of upgrades we wanted to give him on launch, and these upgrades won’t be his last. Decoupling Extra Bullet and Lasting Bullet (alongside the addition of Speedy Whistler) creates more versatility with the Tactical on a Legend that’s more one-dimensional than some.

Bangalore

  • Rolling Thunder: Cooldown increased to 4.5 min (was 4)
  • Smoke Launcher
    • Cooldown increased to 35s (was 33)
    • No longer deals damage
    • Smoke duration decreased to 11s (was 18)
    • Smoke particles now dissipate faster
  • Upgrades: Level 2
    • Big Bang: removed
    • NEW Tactical Cooldown: reduces Tactical cooldown by 5s
  • Upgrades: Level 3
    • Cover Me: Auto-Ping no longer tracks the player who triggered double time
    • Refuge : Heal Rate increased to 3.5 HP/s (was 3HP/s)

Dev Note: Bangalore’s smoke has been dominant for a while now. We thought about reducing smoke charges, but keeping two with a shorter lifetime encourages more plays with the smoke than longer plays IN the smoke (limiting its omnipresence in fights). Adding the Tactical Cooldown in place of the Ultimate Cooldown promotes a more meaningful choice between two core components of her kit. The Cover Me tracking potential was doing more work than intended, especially through smoke, so we’ve dialed this back to point you in the right direction rather than provide perfect positional info.

Bloodhound

  • Upgrades
    • Odin’s Glare: moved to Level 2
    • Tactical Cooldown: moved to Level 3

Caustic

  • Gas Damage now increases by 1 each tick (was 5/5/6/6 etc.)
    • Downed players still only receive 5/tick
  • Gas Slow effect now only applies on first damage tick for 2s
  • Upgrades
    • Particle Diffuser: moved to Level 3
    • Residual Toxins: moved to Level 2

Dev Note: Caustic’s Particle Diffuser upgrade makes it much harder for players to escape his larger gas cloud and getting that early in game could be quite oppressive. We’ve moved this upgrade to spike his power in the late game specifically. The goal of the gas changes is to create more counterplay options when playing around gas; dipping in and out of it should still be punished with the Gas Slow, but moving within it is now a possibility for willing test subjects as long as they don’t experiment for too long.

Conduit

  • Radiant Transfer
    • Cooldown Increased to 31s (was 26)
    • Regen Interruption delay time increased to 2s (was 1)

Dev Note: Ahh yes, Revenant’s best friend Octane Conduit. She continues to be a strong pick, given her ability to maintain pressure by supporting aggressive allies in flights. Part of the counterplay is to interrupt her shield regen with damage, but we are seeing that it’s all too easy to evade briefly and have the regen kick back in almost immediately. Increasing this delay not only stops the regen for longer, it also cuts into the overall duration of the regen and its potential healing—making it more possible to combat her total healing output.

Fuse

  • Upgrade – Wreckless: explosive damage is now reduced by 50% (was 25%)

Lifeline

  • Upgrades: Level 2
    • Tactical Cooldown+: removed
    • NEW Tactical Cooldown++: Tactical Cooldown reduced by 25s (making the cooldown time equal to its deployment duration, so you always have DOC)
  • Upgrades: Level 3
    • Gift Wrapped: removed
    • NEW Gold-Plated: next Package spawns with Golden Gear
      • EVO Cache, Gold Knockdown Shield, Gold Backpack
      • Also contains 1 Shield Battery, 1 Medkit, and either a Phoenix Kit or a Mobile Respawn Beacon

Dev Note: Gift Wrapped was a pretty strong choice that revived a lacking Support pick in higher levels of play. However, it didn’t feel entirely on brand for our combat medic and it led to some issues controlling the power spike and frequency of Care Package weapons. We’ve replaced this with a more deterministic draw for gold items that Lifeline can use to support her squad. Rapid Response was also a popular choice; let’s see if a cooldown-free DOC makes this decision more interesting.

Octane

  • Upgrade – Wreckless: explosive damage is now reduced by 50% (was 25%)

Pathfinder

  • Upgrade – Zipline Zen: damage reduction increased to 50% (was 25%)

Revenant

  • Forged in Shadows
    • Knocks no longer refresh the Tactical during Ultimate
    • Tactical Cooldown is no longer shorter during Ultimate
    • Ultimate Cooldown Increased by 60s
  • Upgrades
    • Agile Assassin: removed
    • Tactical Cooldown: moved to Level 3
    • NEW Ultimate Cooldown: reduces Ult Cooldown by 30s (Level 2)

Dev Note: Revenant has been a powerful contender in Ranked for a few seasons. This change aims to reduce the frequency of his Ultimate and pushes using late game upgrades to improve his Tactical (instead of giving him more frequent movement in his most powerful state). Agile Assassin was a cautious addition at launch, knowing the power of Revenant. However, it required too small of a window to take advantage of the minor charge-time improvement it gave to be viable, so it has been removed.

Seer

  • Focus of Attention: decreased activation delay to 1.2s (was 1.4)
  • Upgrades
    • Artist’s Reach: moved to Level 2
    • Long View: moved to Level 3
    • Racing Hearts: removed (now integrated into base Tactical)
    • NEW Ultimate Cooldown: reduces Ult Cooldown by 30s (Level 2)

Dev Note: Seer’s upgrades were seeing one-sided pushes to regain his lost range and scan duration, and Tactical upgrades didn’t change how hard the ability is to land consistently. These changes push Seer to make a choice on his Ultimate early on, and then tap into one direction of his Tactical in the late game—which has been adjusted to hit more frequently.

Wraith

  • Upgrades
    • Tactical Cooldown: moved to Level 3
    • Ultimate Cooldown: moved to Level 2

Dev Note: Wraith was one of a couple legends with a Level 3 Ultimate related cooldown option, but this didn’t give her enough time to maximize the Ult’s effectiveness as a rotational tool in earlier stages of the game. Swapping this with her Tactical Cooldown now makes our interdimensional skirmisher’s choices less one-dimensional as you now have to choose between Tactical improvements.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Season 1 Patch Notes Released – Here’s Everything Coming This Season

Rocksteady Studios has pushed out the full season 1 patch notes for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League ahead of next week’s release, giving us an idea of what to expect in terms of new content, bug fixes, and improvements.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Season 1 Patch Notes:

Trailer

A Dynamite Performer

After his world’s Suicide Squad died while fighting Brainiac in an unfortunate and violently explosive fashion, The Joker is back for some interdimensional revenge. Young, energetic and eager to make a name for himself, this new take on the iconic Super-Villain is just the injection of panache and insanity that this Suicide Squad needs!

The Joker comes with an entirely new Traversal kit, using his explosive umbrella to fly around the city in style (and hopefully in one piece.) With hop, skip and a BOOM! The Joker takes to the skies, launching himself head over heels towards any enemies unfortunate enough to stand in his way. Then when in the air, the Joker can unfurl his umbrella to float gently to the ground (while raining explosives below), or ride on to swoop forwards at great speed (probably also while raining explosives).

The Clown Prince of Crime also comes with an entirely new Talent Tree, with three different playstyles of Jester, Firestarter and Ringmaster. Jester will see The Joker doing some crowd work, getting up close and personal and introducing Brainiac’s forces to his flail with devastating Melee buffs. Firestarter introduces the theme of Affliction specialisations to our new characters, with The Joker having a special affinity for fire! With Talents to strike the match and plenty to fan the flames, he’ll be getting on with the rest of the squad like a house on fire. And finally Ringmaster is The Joker’s way of making a dramatic entrance with his frantic Traversal! With ways to extend his air-time and increase his damage while airborne, this is the playstyle for a high-flying, fast-paced mobile Joker!

What’s a Place Like You Doing in a Guy Like This?

The launch of a new Season means a new Elseworld to explore during Incursion and Mayhem missions! Season 1 sees a version of Metropolis infected with the twisted and warped mind of The Joker, creating a darkly comic reflection of the City of Tomorrow.

Prop Comedy

With increasing threats from Brainiac and his forces, the Squad are gonna have to improve their arsenal if they want to meet the challenge. Thankfully, Season of Joker: Episode One includes a litany of new Legendary, Notorious and Infamy Set gear to power you up and keep you in the fight.

Episode One will include a Scarecrow Gear Set, with three twisted Tiers based around poisoning the very minds of your enemies. A nightmare-inducing set that can stack ‘Fear’ and ‘Horror’ on your enemies for terrifying effects!

Notorious items for this Episode come from several iconic Super-Villains, including Mad Hatter, Polka-Dot Man and Reverse Flash! Packed with wild and game-changing effects, these new Notorious items offer exciting build opportunities.

This Season will also see the launch of a new Weapon Manufacturer: Intergang! Featuring close range, high damage weapons that shoot multiple projectiles with every shot, this manufacturer’s weapons make for devastating close-quarters builds.

You’ll start seeing weapons of different rarities drop from this Manufacturer, including some existing Legendary weapons!

Take the Stage

This Episode will include plenty of new missions for you to complete while you fight and power up. There will be a new Mayhem mission and Assault missions, as well as a new type of Incursion mission – “Combat Incursions”. These combat-focused Incursions allow the squad to do what they do best: bash some Coluan heads together however they see fit. In Episode 1 Brainiac will be unleashing a host of new Mutators, ramping up the challenge and forcing the squad to adapt to a new battlefield! Enemies will gain Green Lantern Shields, or even return from the dead if not handled correctly, but thankfully Brainiac’s experimenting has led to some unintended side effects that may be able to help the squad…

Do bad and look good

Season 1 will bring with it a host of new Outfits, Banners, Win Poses and more! The Battle Pass for Season 1 will have both a Premium Track and Free Track, both featuring awesome Outifts for the squad, like the Waynetech family of Outfits! This ultra high-tech set shows how the squad would look if they were suited up by Lucius Fox and features several futuristic Swatches too!

Deadshot’s Waynetech outfit will be earnable on the Free Track of the Battle Pass, alongside many of its Swatches!

Check the gallery for the outfits.

BUG FIXES:

In this patch we’ve made several improvements and fixes to how our game handles player data, alongside other backend improvements we’ve put live over the past couple of weeks. These should address many of the issues relating to logging into the game, loading into multiplayer sessions and generally improve loading times. We have also addressed several issues that were preventing players unlocking and progressing their Mastery Levels. If you are still experiencing significant issues with the above after the patch please head on over to our Bug Reporting Website and let us know.

  • Fixed additional loading issues that would sometimes cause the player to be sent back to the seizure warning splash screen after selecting ‘Straight into the Action’ or ‘Select Squad’
  • Fixed a bug that had previously locked some players out of progressing through Mastery Levels.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused players to be locked out of Mastery Levels if the game was closed during the 3rd Incursion mission.
  • Fixed a bug that could sometimes blocked Mastery Level progress after completing the 3 Incursions for the first time.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused the Incursion tutorial flow to break when initiating a Terraformer mission, preventing the unlocking of Mastery Levels.

  • Fixed Affliction Immunity sometimes not showing in the list of Mutators when it is active.
  • Fixed a bug that in rare circumstances caused AI Squad members to not be present

  • Fixed a bug that prevented the 30% bonus damage from Harley Quinn’s ‘Arkham Special’ Talent applying to Shield Harvests.
  • Fixed a minor discrepancy in how King Shark’s ‘Nervous System’ Talent applied bonus Melee damage and Combo generation.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Captain Boomerang’s Traversal Attack to deal Critical damage when the player has increased Critical Hit Chance on their Firearms.
  • Fixed a bug whereby when a player reached Level 25 with a character and unlocked the Lucky Charm slot, if they switched to a lower level character, that character would still benefit from the Lucky Charm despite the slot being locked.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Captain Boomerang’s Traversal Attack to deal Critical Hits against Corrupted Tanks.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing several Melee weapons to not trigger King Shark’s ‘Splash Zone’ talent.

  • Fixed a bug that allowed Deadshot to Melee enemies that were out of range, resulting in no damage being done.
  • Fixed a bug that could sometimes result in Captain Boomerang being invisible if he died during his Enhanced Traversal attack.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused players to get stuck on a white screen if opening the menu while the toxin is venting during the ‘Grab The Bat’ mission.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes resulted in players in a multiplayer session loading into a black screen after selecting the ‘Kill the Flash’ mission from the Chapter Select menu.
  • Fixed a bug that could sometimes result in a black screen after the Shrink Tech introduction for the ‘Operation Goon Rescue’ mission.
  • Fixed a bug that sometimes caused players to be stuck in the crafting menu due to being unable to select an Epic Augment for their Lucky Charm after Eliting the item with Toyman.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the Map to be obscured and unusable if the player left the game while on the Nano-Enhancement unlock screen.
  • Fixed a bug that caused players to get temporarily stuck on the Mission Complete screen after entering the exit portal until the rest of the party enters the portal in a Multiplayer Killing Time session.

PSN Down This March 21 – Online Multiplayer and Other Services Affected

If you’ve been trying to play online games or access your account on the PlayStation Network, we have some bad news: PSN appears to be fully down this March 21.

PSN Down Server Status for March 21, 2024

It appears that PSN is completely down for many users, with PlayStation‘s official support page confirming all their services are currently down or having issues.

Many users have reported issues trying to access the online, with error code CE-117773-6 surfacing and the system telling users they no longer have PlayStation Plus. Those who have not activated their consoles for offline play via the account settings may notice their titles getting locked, though that’s normal whenever the system can’t connect to the servers and isn’t the designated home console.

For now, PlayStation has yet to confirm anything on its social accounts, though, as mentioned, it did update its website to indicate its servers are having issues.

This doesn’t appear to be affecting everyone, though based on the number of reports on Downdetector, it’s a lot.

We’ll continue to monitor the server status and issue an update once things look like they’re improving. For now, you’ll have to be patient.

< Dev’s Comment >

SMGs boast high rates of fire and outstanding damage, all while being accessible to players with varying levels of experience, rendering them an appealing choice for less experienced players. With this update, we’re introducing the SMG Rebalance to the Arcade and Custom Match, aiming to elevate their strategic significance and make the characteristics of different weapon categories more noticeable across various distances and scenarios.

We would like to offer players the opportunity to test the SMG Rebalance, which is targeted for release around mid-year, before finalizing the balance adjustments. We’ll be refining the specifics based on player input, so feel free to let us know what you think.

Read more about our plans for gunplay updates in our PUBG 2024 Roadmap announcement.

Dying Light 2 Update 1.46 Released This March 21

Developer Techland has released Dying Light 2 update 1.46 (PS5 update version 1.046), and this is an unannounced title update that should once again bring in another round of fixes to the zombie action game.

Dying Light 2 Update 1.46 Patch Notes for March 21:

PS5 Update Version: 1.046 | Game Patch Version: 1.15.4

Here’s the announcement from Techland regarding today’s patch:

“Today we are releasing a hotfix addresing several crashes, including the one in the final cutscene at the end of the game. Make sure you have the latest version of the game, which should be 1.15.4 after the fix, on both PC and consoles. 🛠️”

Yep, that’s about it. While there seems to be no player-facing changes, we do know that some new improvements are on the way.

Techland confirmed to us that co-op “improvements and additions” are on the way, though there’s no definite timeline.

Stay tuned to our full interview with Techland hitting the site this week.

Laundry Day
We fixed an issue in Bangkok, where Agent 47 would get stuck in behind a door leading to the laundry room.

Stop the press
We fixed an issue in The Showstopper mission, where the Feats Challenge awarded for competing in the Rare Scoop Mission Story used to appear as “Mission Story – A Rare Scope”.

Hidden in Plain Sight
We resolved an issue in The Apex Predator mission where NPCs that are dumped or pushed over the railing above the Dance Floor would be marked as hidden despite the bodies being clearly visible.

Wrong Turn
We resolved an issue in Mumbai where 47 would face away from the door instead of facing towards it when taking cover in the hut on top of the Trainyard.

Here I come
We resolved an issue in Hawke’s Bay where 47 would be able to enter the hiding spot without using the prompt on the ground floor of the house, meaning NPCs would still be able to detect 47.

Agility check
We fixed an issue in Haven Island where a guard would walk on a bench when investigating a distraction, making it more difficult to subdue him.

DISAPPEARING ACTS

Now I see you
We fixed an issue in Berlin, where one of the NPCs in the Projection bar was missing his upper body.

Now I see you 2
We resolved an issue in Chongqing, Nightcall, Colorado, and Berlin where Agent 47 would disappear through camera movement, when using prompts, or when taking cover.

Fancy Chair
We resolved an issue in Hawke’s Bay, where the red chair in Alma’s bedroom chair did not allow 47 to take cover behind it.

Wrong Suit
We fixed an issue in Dubai, where in Freelancer mode, a whiskey serving set-piece found in the Lounge on the fourth floor would be considered as a “Waiter” disguise, leading 47 to be considered as trespassing.

We fixed an issue in the safehouse in Freelancer mode, where choosing the Bathroom cosmetic variant unlockable at Mastery 97 or when choosing the bathroom cosmetic from the Modern Furniture collection, unlockable at Mastery Level 18, a toilet control panel would spawn under the map.

Bird Carpentry
We fixed an issue in the safehouse in Freelancer mode, where a birdhouse located near the shed would not appear to be properly attached to the tree.

Wrong Angles
We fixed an issue in the safehouse in Freelancer mode, where there would be camera clipping issues with some of the decorations in the hallway and the office.

Riddle Me This
We resolved an issue in Freelancer mode on the Isle of Sgàil, where “Vanessa Von Robeck”’s name would show as “Vanessa Von R?beck.”

DIALOGUE

Wrong lines
We fixed an issue in Marrakesh where security guards located in the consulate would use placeholder dialog audio when spotting 47 disguised as a soldier.

ADDITIONAL FIXES

This section is dedicated to fixes or changes that have happened between patches, essentially things that we can change without a patch. They didn’t feature in the previous patch notes, so we’re adding them here for posterity.

Perseverance is key
We updated the Steam Art asset of HITMAN World of Assassination, and we thank @jeicaMutsorPop for their thoroughness regarding this topic.

First Impression
When launching the WOA Part One, players now correctly start with the ICA Tutorial, instead of “The Sebastian Principle”.

I’m the Upgrade
When World of Assassination Part One Steam players try to access content that they do not own, they are now correctly directed to the relevant “Upgrade Pack”.

Escape Room
We resolved an issue in the Featured Contract “Art Lovers” where players would not be able to Exit.

Sinful
We resolved an issue where Steam – Deluxe Edition owners did not have access to the Seven Deadly Sins collection; they now have access to the collection.

Microsoft Store
We fixed an issue where some PC Microsoft Store players could experience connection or crashes during the last two weeks of February.

Whew! That’s a lot to take in. Once a new patch drops, we’ll let our readers know.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Update 1.11 Jumps Out This March 21

Ubisoft has released Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown update 1.11 (PS5 update version 1.001.001), and this is following yesterday’s major “Warrior’s Path” title update. Given we just got a slew of new stuff yesterday, don’t expect anything from this outside of fixes.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Update 1.11 Patch Notes:

PS5 Update Version: 1.001.001

Update: Official patch notes have been released by Ubisoft via Discord!

Patch size:

(& planned release)
• PlayStation®5: 1.6 GB (March 21)
• PlayStation®4: 3.57 GB (March 21)
• Xbox One: 3.6 GB (March 21)
• Xbox Series X|S: 10.85 GB (March 21)
• PC: 393 MB (March 21)
• Nintendo Switch: 484 MB (March 28 max)

GAMEPLAY

• Addressed an issue where the player could fight again the Mimic chest in Tower of Silence, farming Damascus Ore

USER INTERFACE

• Fixed a text issue with Speedrun reward in Farsi display
• Fixed an issue on Permadeath Stats page, where the Final Boss could sometimes not register as “defeated” despite finishing the game in Permadeath

PERFORMANCE
• Slight improvements of performance and stability on Nintendo Switch

Currently, the dev team has not released any patch notes just yet. Over on the game’s Discord, multiple members have reported on issues wherein the map says there is a treasure or a marker shows up for something that’s already completed or not there.

Based on the user comments, this bug shows up in hte amp for Old Royal Road, Berg Qaf. Not sure whether this title update fixes that issue, or this has something to do with bug fixes to the Permadeath mode, Speedrun mode or something that arose because of yesterday’s patch.

We’re on the lookout for any changes made, and once we spot any, we’ll be sure to update the article with the info.

To know what’s incoming later this year, head on over here.

New Characters

Three characters from beyond the stars have been added to KartRider: Drift! These characters will be available through the Item Shop, and you can learn more about them through the in-game [Item Mode Skill] menu, or in the Character Skills Encyclopedia.

Taki

Taki Northeu Patch Notes
“No one will get in the way of dreams, not even my father!”

Rivaski’s son, Taki has developed a large range of emotions from his time on Earth that far surpasses his father.  He wants to be the best racer in the universe, and has set his antennae on the less advanced planet of Earth, because of its collection of excellent racers.

Active Skill: Lightstone Boost (Intermediate): Taki processes the energy extracted from the Lightstone to provide a boost effect to nearby Racers. If Taki does not apply the boost effect to the opposing team, Taki will receive the Boost.

Erini

Erini Northeu Patch Notes
“Do I… like Taki…?”

This empathetic girl has protected Taki ever since they were children. Under her cute exterior lurks a blunt personality, but she always has a soft spot for her childhood friend and perceives Taki as a weakling who needs to be protected. She hasn’t been racing as long as Taki, but she’s so talented that Taki is actually jealous of her. When they’re not racing, Taki is helping Erini get better at expressing her feelings.

Active Skill: Lightstone Shield (Beginners): Erini manipulates energy from the powerful Lightstone to help her new friends! A shield zone is placed in the direction Erini is facing, which grants Shields to her teammates and removes Shields and Angel Armor effects from her opponents.

Rivaski

Rivaski Northeu Patch Notes
“My friend… How could I forget you?”

This eccentric engineer is the head of Northeu’s fighter space station. After many years off-planet, he returned one day in a kart powered by Lightstone and restored peace to Northeu in its times of need. Though he was once an ally to Earthlings, even carrying an old friend’s helmet with him at all times, his attitude lately has turned quite hostile.

Passive Skill: Clairvoyance (Beginners): Utilizing Planet Northeu’s superior technology, Rivaski has invented a scanner that reveals his opponent’s items! Obtain a scanner that displays the items of each racer directly in front of and behind him. Rivaski gains scanners after a set amount of time passes

Game Balance Changes

Karts

  • Karts are now classified into three groups, based on their Drift and Boost Acceleration:
    • Speed Type: Boost Acceleration > Drift Acceleration
    • Balanced Type: Boost Acceleration = Drift Acceleration
    • Drift Type: Boost Acceleration < Drift Acceleration

Character Skills

  • Character Skills have been added for the following characters.
Character Category Difficulty Skill Name Description
Viktor Active Skill Intermediate Terrible Time Bomb Viktor places a bomb on a selected opponent that eventually explodes, hitting all nearby Racers with an explosion.
Ethen Passive Skill Intermediate Ethen’s Book Club Water Wisps have a chance to turn into Books when obtained. When used, Books temporarily stuns opponents and drops them if they’re caught in mid-air. This effect gets stronger depending on how far the opponent is from Ethen.
Derek Passive Skill Expert Extreme Velocity When driving above 100km/h, Derek’s default speed is increased in levels, up to a max of level 3. His speed level resets when he encounters driving interference, if his item slots get too heavy, or drives below 50km/h.
Mobi Passive Skill Expert Sleight of Hand The skill activates at a set interval, providing a Boost effect. If he collides with an opponent who has an item while boosting, he duplicates the opponent’s item. However, he can only duplicate items that can be obtained from the Item Box.
BLACKPINK JISOO Passive Skill Beginner JISOO’s Escape Plan JISOO never hesitates to use the art of escape she’s learned as a member of BLACKPINK to win the race! When she is trapped in a water effect, JISOO can immediately escape for a limited number of times.
BLACKPINK JENNIE Passive Skill Beginner JENNIE’s Water Blast JENNIE is ready to use some special ammunition to win the race for BLACKPINK! Obtaining a Water Bomb exchanges it for a Water Bomb Bouquet which throws several Water Bombs at once.
BLACKPINK ROSÉ Passive Skill Beginner ROSÉ’s Promise ROSÉ has a chance to win it all for BLACKPINK after she made a mysterious promise to the water fairy! ROSÉ may obtain either a Water Bomb or Water Wisp, depending on which type of item or skill she blocked or was hit by.
BLACKPINK LISA Passive Skill Beginner LISA’s Willpower Whenever things get tough, LISA gives it her all to score a victory for BLACKPINK! LISA has a chance to obtain a Boost when she is hit with an item or skill.
  • Active Skill cooldowns have been reduced by 5% between all grades of character outfits.
    • Developer’s Note: During the initial planning stage, we decided to set the minimum unit of cooldown reduction for active skills to 1 seconds, which decreases as the Outfits’ tier increases. However since the ratio of reduction was not uniform, there was an issue of outfits for some characters not being as useful as they should be. To resolve this issue, we decided to apply 5% reduction rate across the board. All skills’ basic cooldown lengths have been adjusted accordingly, either increased or decreased.

Active Skill Changes:

  • Balloon Blast (Bazzi):
    • Water Balloons will now be displayed in team colors, and can interact with certain objects on the track.
    • The longer that Bazzi spins the Water Balloon, longer the target Racer will be trapped in Water Prison.
    • Water Balloons stay on tracks for a longer period of time.
    • Skill cooldowns are displayed in decimal units, and have been changed to:
      • Common: 18s, 9s after first use per race (Unchanged)
      • Fine: 17.1s, 8.5s after first use per race (Previously 17s / 9s)
      • Rare: 16.2s, 8.1s after first use per race (Previously 16s / 8s)
      • Heroic: 15.3s, 7.6s after first use per race (Previously 15s / 8s)
      • Legendary: 14.4s, 7.2s after first use per race (Previously 14s / 8s)
    • Developer’s Note: Bazzi’s skill is to throw a Water Balloon to a faraway target, and apply Water Bomb effect to them. Since the skill was designed to deter opponents outside of certain distance, we initially designed it so the Water Bomb can also affect the caster. However, since it was really difficult to hit a target with the skill with minimal impact, we decided to buff this skill.Bazzi’s Water Bombs will now stay on tracks for longer. And the longer the throw was to hit the target with Water Balloon, the longer the target will now stay in Water Prison. Since it is much more likely to miss when you aim far away targets, the caster and ally racers will not be trapped in Water Prison longer than the default time.
  • Leave Me Alone (Sophia):
    • The magnet effect can now be deactivated, and the effects of the equipped balloons can also be momentarily paused.
    • Skill cooldowns have been reduced for all ranks:
      • Common: 15s, 7.5s after first use per race (Previously 17s / 9s)
      • Fine: 14.2s, 7.1s after first use per race (Previously 16s / 9s)
      • Rare: 13.4s, 6.7s after first use per race (Previously 15s / 8s)
      • Heroic: 12.6s, 6.3s after first use per race (Previously 14s / 8s)
      • Legendary: 11.8s, 5.9s after first use per race (Previously 13s / 7s)
    • Developer’s Note: Sophia’s skill is designed to remove buffs from nearby opponents. Although it has the ability to remove Angel, Shield, and Booster buffs, the timing is hard to get right, and the effect of the skill was too weak to be useful, which resulted in an overall improvement. Firstly, the skill now includes the capability to remove magnet acceleration effect of and temporarily deactivate balloon effects. We added magnet acceleration since it is close to booster acceleration, and by temporarily deactivating the effects of various balloon items, it opens up possibilities for synergy with other items or skills. Furthermore, the cooldown time has been improved, allowing for more frequent use of the skill.
  • Ghosted (Spirit Kid):
    • Camera movement while the skill is being used has been improved to feel more natural.
    • Skill cooldowns are displayed in decimal units, and have been changed to:
      • Common: 17s, 8.5s after first use per race (Previously 17s / 9s)
      • Fine: 16.1s, 8s after first use per race (Previously 16s / 9s)
      • Rare: 15.2s, 7.6s after first use per race (Previously 15s / 8s)
      • Heroic: 14.3s, 7.1s after first use per race (Previously 14s / 8s)
      • Legendary: 13.4s, 6.7s after first use per race (Previously 13s / 7s)
  • Leaps & Bounds (Dao):
    • Skill cooldowns have been increased for all ranks:
      • Common: 17s (Previously 14s)
      • Fine: 16.1s (Previously 13s)
      • Rare: 15.2s (Previously 12s)
      • Heroic: 14.3s (Previously 11s)
      • Legendary: 13.4s (Previously 10s)
    • Developer’s Note: Dao’s skill enables the ability to zoom through the track rapidly in high synergy with track situations and other skills and items. Because of Leaps & Bounds’ characteristics, it has been used to mitigate the effects of enemy items or skills, resulting in Dao showing a higher win rate compared to other characters. Consequently, a nerf was deemed necessary. However, we are still aiming to make Dao’s skill usage fun, so rather than altering the power of jumping itself, we are increasing its cooldown time to decrease the overall frequency of use.
  • Greed on the High Seas (Lodumani):
    • Skill cooldowns are displayed in decimal units, and have been changed to:
      • Common: 27s (Unchanged)
      • Fine: 25.6s (Previously 26s)
      • Rare: 24.2s (Previously 25s)
      • Heroic: 22.2s (Previously 24s)
      • Legendary: 21.4s (Previously 23s)
  • HexaDraw (Miso):
    • Skill cooldowns have been decreased for all ranks:
      • Common: 25s (Previously 31s)
      • Fine: 23.7s (Previously 30s)
      • Rare: 22.4s (Previously 29s)
      • Heroic: 21.1s (Previously 28s)
      • Legendary: 19.8s (Previously 27s)
    • Developer’s Note: Miso’s skill is designed to pull opponents towards herself to bother enemy racers. While we think it is a powerful ability for bothering leading competitors like Dao, shield or angel items are enough to defend against it. Given its long cooldown time, it has been deemed necessary to buff this skill to fulfill its designed role. Therefore, the cooldown time of the skill has been improved, allowing for more frequent usage.
  • Banana Hack (Kris):
    • The item selected to turn into a Banana will now be highlighted for the target on their screen. After a set amount of time, if the altered item has not been used, it will turn into bananas.
    • If the target hit by the skill does not possess any items, the attack will fail.
    • Defense items will be removed.
    • Skill cooldowns have been reduced for all ranks:
      • Common: 21s (Previously 26s)
      • Fine: 19.9s (Previously 25s)
      • Rare: 18.8s (Previously 24s)
      • Heroic: 17.7s (Previously 23s)
      • Legendary: 16.6s (Previously 22s)
    • Developer’s Note: Kris’s skill is designed to transform the opponent’s items into bananas to hinder them. When the skill is activated, the opponents start getting hacked, and upon completion, one of their held items is changed into a banana item. However, due to the fact that you can use shield or angel items  for defense during hacking, Kris’s skill has been utilized not only to change opponent’s items but also to neutralize enemy shields or angels before using attacking items right after. This versatility made Kris too powerful and overlap with Sophia, necessitating adjustments. Now, Kris’s skill selects the item to be transformed into a banana at the beginning of the hacking process. If there are no items available for transformation or if the selected item has been used before the hacking completes, the hacking will immediately fail. There is no need to defend with shield or angel items; simply using an item will abort the racer from hacking. Additionally, with the simplification of the deactivation, the cooldown time has been decreased.
  • Brodi’s Boost Zone (Brodi):
    • Skill cooldowns are displayed in decimal units, and have been changed to:
      • Common: 19s, 9.5s after first use per race (Previously 17s / 9s)
      • Fine: 18.s, 9s after first use per race (Unchanged)
      • Rare: 17s, 8.5s after first use per race (Previously 17s / 8s)
      • Heroic: 16s, 8s after first use per race (Unchanged)
      • Legendary: 15s, 7.5s after first use per race (Previously 15s / 8s)
  • Help Me, Sweeper! (Tobi):
    • Skill description has been revised with more specific details.
    • Skill cooldowns are displayed in decimal units, and have been changed to:
      • Common: 18s, 9s after first use per race (Previously 18s / 11s)
      • Fine: 17.1.s, 8.5s after first use per race (Previously 17s / 11s)
      • Rare: 16.2s, 8.1s after first use per race (Previously 16s / 10s)
      • Heroic: 15.3s, 7.6s after first use per race (Previously 15s / 10s)
      • Legendary: 14.4s, 7.2s after first use per race (Previously 14s / 9s)
  • Awful Avalanche (Vivi):
    • Skill hit animation has been slightly changed.
    • Skill cooldowns are displayed in decimal units, and have been changed to:
      • Common: 22s (Unchanged)
      • Fine: 20.9s (Previously 21s)
      • Rare: 19.8s (Previously 20s)
      • Heroic: 18.7s (Previously 19s)
      • Legendary: 17.6s (Previously 18s)
  • Slippery Snowflake (Pim):
    • Skill cooldowns are displayed in decimal units, and have been changed to:
      • Common: 22s (Unchanged)
      • Fine: 20.9s (Previously 21s)
      • Rare: 19.8s (Previously 20s)
      • Heroic: 18.7s (Previously 19s)
      • Legendary: 17.6s (Previously 18s)
  • Old Money (Mayor Zipi):
    • If the defense is successful, the cooldown time will be reduced.
    • Skill cooldowns are displayed in decimal units, and have been changed to:
      • Common: 15s, 7.5s after first use per race (Previously 16s / 8s)
      • Fine: 14.2.s, 7.1s after first use per race (Previously 15s / 8s)
      • Rare: 13.4s, 6.7s after first use per race (Previously 14s / 7s)
      • Heroic: 12.6s, 6.3s after first use per race (Previously 13s / 7s)
      • Legendary: 11.8s, 5.9s after first use per race (Previously 12s / 6s)
    • Developer’s Note: Mayor Zipi’s skill is a short-duration shield that can be used at precise moments during attacks. While it’s thrilling to use the skill, it has been determined that the reward for success is too small compared to the difficulty involved. Therefore, the cooldown time has been slightly improved, and a new feature to decrease cooldown time by successful use of the skill. Now, if you got the hands for it, you can block more than ever.
  • Wave of Justice (Neo):
    • The racer hit by the Wave of Justice will now be able to use their booster immediately after landing.
    • Skill cooldowns are displayed in decimal units, and have been changed to:
      • Common: 10s, 5s after first use per race (Unchanged)
      • Fine: 9.5s, 4.7s after first use per race (Previously 9s / 5s)
      • Rare: 9s, 4.5s after first use per race (Previously 8s / 4s)
      • Heroic: 8.5s, 4.2s after first use per race (Previously 7s / 4s)
      • Legendary: 8s, 4s after first use per race (Previously 6s / 3s)
    • Developer’s Note: Neo’s skill is a crowd control skill that knocks back opponents in the vicinity, based on a short cooldown. It has been deemed necessary to make adjustments because it was fun skill to use but a frustrating skill to get hit with. We considered adjustments such as increasing cooldown time, weakening knockback intensity, and also impacting the caster, but concerns were raised about compromising the essential fun of the skill. Therefore, the adjustment has been made in the direction of reducing the damage to hit Racers. Hit racers can use the booster immediately upon landing too. As a result, Racers hit by Neo’s skill can return to the race more quickly, even after being hit.
  • Prettion Power (Tiera):
    • Skill cooldowns are displayed in decimal units, and have been changed to:
      • Common: 21s, 10.5s after first use per race (Previously 21s / 11s)
      • Fine: 19.9s, 9.9s after first use per race (Previously 20s / 11s)
      • Rare: 18.8s, 9.4s after first use per race (Previously 19s / 10s)
      • Heroic: 17.7s, 8.8s after first use per race (Previously 18s / 10s)
      • Legendary: 16.6s, 8.3s after first use per race (Previously 17s / 9s)
  • Explosive Butterflies (Lucid):
    • When used simultaneously with Siren, this skill will now be considered an attack.
    • Skill cooldowns are displayed in decimal units, and have been changed to:
      • Common: 28s (Unchanged)
      • Fine: 26.6s (Previously 27s)
      • Rare: 25.2s (Previously 26s)
      • Heroic: 23.8s (Previously 25s)
      • Legendary: 22.4s (Previously 24s)

Passive Skill Changes:

  • Competitive Spirit (Diz): The skill effect will now also activate upon being hit.
  • Fan Service (Rave): Skill description has been revised with more specific details.
  • Hydrophile (Martin): Skill description has been revised with more specific details.
  • Attack Reflection (Pink Bean): Skill activation animation has been slightly changed.
  • Water Bomb Bouquet (Airi): Airi will now start each race with a Water Bomb Bouquet equipped.
  • Breaking Through (Orion):
    • Skill description has been revised with more specific details.
    • Skill now also defends against Neo’s “Wave of Justice” skill.
    • Skill Activation count has been reduced by 1 for all ranks:
      • Common: 10 Times (Previously 11)
      • Fine: 11 Times (Previously 12)
      • Rare: 12 Times (Previously 13)
      • Heroic: 13 Times (Previously 14)
      • Legendary: 14 Times (Previously 15)
    • Developer’s Note: Orion’s skill are designed to bypass barricades and Tobi’s skill and charge forward. Designed as a suitable character for novice racers due to its ability to ignore certain obstacles, although the number of uses are limited. However, as the quantity of barricades placed on tracks during races are limited, it has been deemed necessary to provide additional buff. In order to address this issue, the skill now ignores of Neo’s skill ‘Wave of Justice,’ which is one of the more challenging skills to deal with. This provides a good choice for novice racers who may not be familiar with item transformation or Neo’s skill.
  • Boost Flex (Marid):
    • Skill driving time is reduced for all ranks:
      • Common: 30s (Previously 43s)
      • Fine: 29s (Previously 42s)
      • Rare: 28s (Previously 41s)
      • Heroic: 27s (Previously 40s)
      • Legendary: 26s (Previously 39s)
    • Developer’s Note: Marid’s skill automatically grants a booster at regular intervals, with the frequency increasing the further behind the first place racer falls. Compared to other characters who gain acceleration through their skills, Marid’s skill is too insufficient to compete. To address this, adjustments have been made to allow Marid to acquire boosters more quickly in all sections of tracks.
  • Hydrophobic (Rena):
    • Skill Activations has been increased for all ranks:
      • Common: 8 Times (Previously 4)
      • Fine: 9 Times (Previously 5)
      • Rare: 10 Times (Previously 6)
      • Heroic: 11 Times (Previously 7)
      • Legendary: 12 Times (Previously 8)
  • Bombing Shell (Toto): Skill description has been revised with more specific details.
  • The icon animation for skills with limited activation counts has been slightly changed.

Driving Changes

  • The Traction System has been changed:
    • The bonuses to acceleration and maximum speed granted by the Traction System has been decreased.
    • Added a Refill System for Traction:
      • Once a Racer’s distance from First Place exceeds a certain threshold, their automatic boost recharge will increase in proportion to the distance.
      • If they fall far enough behind, the Boost Gauge will charge even while boosting.

  • Improved matchmaking to make it more likely to be matched against a similarly-ranked Racer.
    • Note: If matchmaking wait times become long enough, the gap in ranks with matched Racers may increase.

Guilty Gear Strive Next DLC Character Revealed as A.B.A, New Battle Stage and More Revealed

Arc System Works has revealed the Guilty Gear Strive next DLC character for Season 3, and it’s none other than A.B.A! Yep, the character is back since her last appearance in Guilty Gear XX Accent Core R, and will be available on March 26.

Check out the trailer and info regarding the new character, the new Battle Stage and even the new special move for Millia Rage!

A.B.A Character Profile

Profile:

  • Name: A.B.A (VA: Anna Brisbin)
  • Height: 5’8” (174 cm)
  • Weight: 75 lbs (34 kg)
  • Blood Type: Unidentifiable liquid mixed with mercury (needs normal blood for transfusions)
  • Birth Date: Unknown
  • Origin: Flask
  • Hobbies: Observing the world, writing in her grudge diary, planning for her remaining years (always over-optimistic)
  • Values: Paracelsus, herself, anything key-shaped, anything she finds too good to waste
  • Dislikes: Wasteful people, anyone she deems a romantic rival, people who don’t value their friends
  • Affiliation: None
  • Weapon: Paracelsus (VA: Alejandro Antonio Ruiz)

This fan-favorite returning fighter from 2012’s Guilty Gear XX Accent Core R can enter her powerful Jealous Rage state by meeting certain conditions. She gains greatly improved movement during Jealous Rage, with different properties for most of her normal, special, and Overdrive moves. While she has shown to be profoundly jealous and belligerent at times, she can also be considerate and sympathetic towards others. Due to her upbringing in a laboratory, A.B.A is often shy and emotionally immature.

Her reluctant husband, Paracelsus, currently in the form of a magical battle axe which is actually named Flament Nagel, has brainwashed many, and led warriors to their deaths on the battlefield during the Crusades. The axe’s thirst for violence can drive its wielder to fight until their bloody end, with no distinction between friend and foe. After the Crusades, he encountered A.B.A, accompanying her despite a seeming distaste for her constant advances.

Throughout their time together, he has begun to change shape from an axe into a key. A.B.A has yet to notice the change in heart he’s experienced along with this transformation. She now sets out on a journey to find a human body for her spouse – concerned about the recent changes to his appearance, she has pledged to uncover the cause.

New Battle Stage “Fallen Prayer, Engulfed Lives”

The new battle stage, “Fallen Prayer, Engulfed Lives,” features a clear blue sea and an eye-catching monument. While coral reef overgrowth has transformed the city into a tourist spot, it is now inhabitable for residents.

New Special Move “Artemis”

“Artemis,” a new special move for Millia Rage, has been added to Guilty Gear -Strive- in this update. The new special move allows Millia to attack while leaping up at an angle behind her. As she leaps, she can evade low-hitting attacks or even pass through to the opponent’s other side. This creates another option for Millia’s offensive game and mixes up a blocking opponent with a blistering cross-up.

Expect a Guilty Gear Strive title update to be released on March 26 to add in A.B.A, the new Battle Stage and new special move. We’re also expecting bug fixes and maybe a battle adjustment sweep as well. Once that’s out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know

DNF Duel Update 1.71 Brings Added Stability

Following the release of Monk last week, Arc System Works and Nexon have released DNF Duel update 1.71 (PS5 update version 1.071). Given the DLC, don’t expect anything major from this outside of fixes.

DNF Duel Update 1.71 Patch Notes:

PS5 Update Version: 1.071

Here’s what’s new per Nexon:

  • Improved overall operational stability.

Yep, that’s about it. While this patch wasn’t a big one, we still have one more character incoming according to the game’s roadmap.

Once we get more info about the new character, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. Aside from DNF Duel, Arc System Works’ other new game is Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising, which has its own roadmap announced.

If you’re interested in that, go read our review of it here to see why it’s a worthy fighting game.
