Season 5: PROJECT MESSIAH

The Murkoff Corporation would like to introduce you to Liliya Bogomolova. A still current with a raging undertow, Liliya is on a mission from god to absolve you all of your sins… for a price.

Liliya Bogomolova silently stalks her “Cottage orné” turned cult compound in the newest Trial Environment, The Resort. Behind the closed doors of this lavish retreat, she prepares a VIP auction held only for her biggest spenders, but what is the price of a life? Find out how much in “Despoil the Auction”.

New Prime Asset: LILIYA BOGOMOLOVA

The Murkoff Corporation is pleased to introduce Sister Liliya Bogomolova. Still waters hide a deadly rage. Liliya is woman of God, an ambush predator on a divine mission to cut away your sins. Absolution comes at a cost of treasure and flesh.

Liliya’s Prime Asset traits:

  • Liliya hides in plain sight among her mannequins.
  • She can surprise attack Reagents with her long reach attack style.
  • Her brutal attacks immobilize the Reagent, who must fight for its life when it happens.
  • As a predator, she secretly relocates in the Trial and wait for its next prey to ambush.

New Trial: DESPOIL THE AUCTION

You are the negotiator. Humans are just one more product, amusement for those with money to burn. A fresh plaything is up for auction, it’s up to you to ruin the lot.

New MK-Challenge: FABRICATE THE SCANDAL

You are the half-truth, the reality more honest than fact when the evidence fails the agenda. Crimes cannot be simply exposed, they must be shaped to entertain the swinish masses. Prove the crime and delight the swine.

New MK-Challenge: SEIZE THE NARCOTICS

You are the controlled substance. The law enslaves minds by caging bodies. You destroy bodies and liberate minds, making users more desperate for control. Find the narcotics and set yourself free.

New Limited-Time Event: WINTER KILLS

Winter Kills is an experiment in hostile, unstable environments rich in both punishment and rewards. With the addition of Permafrost, Murkoff will have hot cocoa on standby in the sleep room.

Program Winter Kills variators:

  • PERMAFROST. Permanent freezing temperature in the Trial. Locate heat sources to stay warm.\
  • FROST MINES. Gas mines have been replaced with Frost Mines.
  • COLLECT THE GIFTS. Collect all the gifts in the Trial to earn extra rewards.

Invasion Experimental Therapy Update

The Outlast Trials Invasion Update

Game mode improvements:

Invasion menu revamped with focus on QUICK PLAY and INVASION RANKS display. Quick Play is an alternance of playing as Reagent and Imposter as much as possible.

Imposter objective refined:

  • Imposters is now to “Hurt the Reagents”, and not necessarily eliminating them. Disruption is the core of the role.
  • As an Imposter, your current grade is now always visible in the HUD, updating dynamically as you perform actions during an invasion.
  • Imposters can now earn a high score even if Reagents complete the Trial.
  • Their performance is based on how effectively they disrupt and pressure Reagents, not on total elimination.

High Tier Trials (50+ Invasion matches): Reagents must now complete a random secondary objective before they can exit the Trial.

Anti-Stalling Measures: New rules prevent prolonged stalling in confined areas. Reagents who fail to progress within the allotted time will be terminated by electrocution.

Door Interaction Improvements: Doors have been reworked for more consistent reactions when slammed on pursuers.

Shuttle doors now automatically open when only one Reagent remains alive in the Trial.

Fixed an issue where Reagents did not receive the intended speed and stamina boost after successfully countering an Imposter.

Fixed an issue where Stamina regeneration would start during a kill animation instead of at the end.

Imposter balancing:

  • Knife attack miss stamina cost reduced to 10 (was 20).
  • Stab Hit stamina cost decreased to 25 (was 50).
  • Stab Kill stamina cost decreased to 25 (was 50).
  • Execution stamina cost decreased to 25 (was 50).
  • Stamina consumption when running has been reduced (can run for longer duration).
  • Base walk speed increased (to help stalking Reagents).
  • Walk speed while holding charged knife increased.
  • Imposters now have 2 lives (was 3). They have their initial life + one respawn (after killed).
  • Reworked ExPops aggros against Imposters (Imposters must be more careful now).

Reagents balancing:

  • Brick stamina damage reduced to 25 (was 50).
  • Stun stamina damage reduced to 25 (was 50).
  • Blind mine stamina damage reduced to 25 (was 100).
  • Blind mine reaction changed to Heavy long (was Severe).
  • Heal (with poison upgrade) stamina damage reduced to 25 (was 50).
  • Heal (with poison upgrade) reaction changed to Light (was Medium)
  • The changes have no impact on Ex-Pops.

Invasion Seasonal Rankings

  • A new ranking system has been introduced, offering unique rewards for participating in Invasion.
  • Your Invasion Rank increases as you complete matches, whether you play as a Reagent or an Imposter.
  • The grade you earn at the end of each Trial determines the amount of Rank Points awarded.

Upcoming Event: Flashback Therapy

Prepare to relive – or experience for the first time – the events of the past. Arriving early 2026.

  • Jaeger Onboarding
  • Under Surveillance\
  • Deep Burn
  • Toxic Shock
  • Countdown

Additions/Fixes/Balancing

  • New tasks to complete for each minigame available in the Sleep Room.
  • Added dozens of new trials in the Featured Trial Makers rotation.
  • Trial rewards based on grade have been increased.
  • Event tokens are now also given to Imposters after invasion matches.
  • Store: It is now possible to Equip a claimed item directly from the Store or Catalogs screens.
  • Fixed an issue where Imposter names would not be displayed correctly when in camera perspective.

For a look at the new cosmetic bundles and whatnot, head on over to Red Barrels’ blog. While this is the last major update for the game, don’t be surprised if we get a hotfix or two given how steadfast the developers have been in releasing fixes.

Conan Exiles December 2025 Update Now Out as Patch 2.16

Funcom has released the Conan Exiles December 2025 update, which should be the last patch for the game this year. Console gamers will see this download as Conan Exiles update 2.16, and it should be a small download across all platforms.

Players can expect quality-of-life additions/changes, as well as major improvements to sorcery, and even the inclusion of a new dodge-roll.

Read on for everything that got added in today’s Conan Exiles update.

Conan Exiles December 2025 Update Patch Notes List Every New Addition From Version 2.16

Conan Exiles Update 2.07

Feature Updates

  • Sorcery:
    • More efficient Sacrificial Blood harvesting.
      • Bottling sacrificial blood now yields 3 bottles, up from 1.
      • Sorcerer Thralls now provide a benefit to the efficiency of Sacrificial Altar recipes that process raw Sacrificial Blood: +25% result items per thrall tier. A T4 thrall doubles the outcome of the craft.
    • Sorcerous Alchemy, allowing the transmutation of materials into other materials.
    • Three new summoning rituals are available at the Chalk Circle, once the player has unlocked them via the Tome of Kurak (they are not unlocked at the same time):
      • Summon Traitor of Blood – Summon a non-aggressive demon who will trade resources in bulk for Blood. His time in this world is limited once summoned.
      • Summon It That Hunts – Summon an enigmatic bestial entity willing to provide exclusive hunting services… If you can figure out what it is that it wants.
      • Summon Avatar of Bokrug – A dangerous ritual that manifests an avatar of the potent god Bokrug. Be warned – it is powerful enough to break through the protections built into the Chalk Circle, and highly aggressive.
  • We’ve taught the Exiles how to dodge-roll. And then, very carefully, instructed them not to be annoying about it.
  • The “Thrall Trader” knowledge is purchasable at level 30 (requires Thrall Taker) for 5 points. This unlocks the construction of 2 new objects via the Construction Hammer: Thrall Selling Cage and Animal Selling Post. These objects allow for the sale of in-world human, golem, or animal followers for Gold Coins.

Quality Of Life Changes

  • Building with the construction hammer now uses resources carried by your follower. No more overencumbering yourself before building that extension onto your base!
  • Starting recipes at a crafting station will now automatically pull resources from your inventory. Less fiddling around with items, more making the thing you want.
  • Numerous improvements to sorcery, including but not limited to:
    • Faster casting with the Arcane Staff.
    • Unified and reduced casting requirements (no more carrying around 3 different tiers of pouches).
    • All tier 1 spells have their reagent cost removed.
    • Sorcerer thralls will provide benefits at the Sacrificial Stone (more efficient Sacrificial Blood harvesting).
    • Rebalanced and accelerated Tome of Kurak progression.
    • Significantly reduced penalty when using Transporter Stones. The corruption debuff after travelling has been shortened to 10 seconds and now applies a much smaller amount of corruption.

Black Lotus Bazaar

New items have been added to the Bazaar. Please note that these will be offered on rotation and not everything will be available in the store at the same time:

  • New Pictish treehouse building set
  • New Hairstyle with the Yamatai Samurai Bundle!
  • Cimmerian Blacksmith Set
  • Tortage Brawler Set
  • Argossean Stargazer Props
  • Stygian Sorcerer Props
  • Liu Fei Bedroom props
  • Kambujan Fighter Set
  • Worker Clothing Set
  • Barachan Castaway bundle with new Tavern Bar
  • Kumbujan Rhino Mount
  • Turanian Tiger Pet Bundle
  • New Emotes with Drunken Brawl theme
  • Return of Battle Pass items in Several bundles

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed several building-related server crashes.
  • Improved purge spawning:
    • Fixed the purge “owned landclaim” detection so that it cannot spawn the Forward Operating Base on the edge of an unrelated player’s landclaim. This fixes the issue where players could trigger a purge within range of another player’s base and harass them.
    • Significantly increased the density of checked points when searching for a spot to place the Forward Operating Base, making it more likely to find a usable location by being more thorough in the search.
  • Fixed numerous DLC items’ dye functionality and rendering issues.

There are also known issues with elevators not currently buildable via the Construction Hammer, which might be something sorted in the January 2026 patch. If Funcom releases another update, we’ll let our readers know.

Resident Evil Requiem Leaked Key Art on PSN Store Accidentally Confirms Leon’s Inclusion

It seems the mystery of whether Leon S. Kennedy will or will not be in Resident Evil Requiem can finally be put to rest, as the PlayStation Store itself has accidentally leaked the character’s involvement in the upcoming horror game.

While not an official announcement by Capcom, Leon appearing in a PSN Store listing for RE Requiem is all but seals the deal.

Make no mistake about it, it’s Leon, though one that looks a lot older, and gruffier.

Resident Evil Requiem Will Feature Leon as Confirmed by PSN Store Leak

For people who have the Standard Edition of Resident Evil Requiem on PS5, you’ll be able to see this cover of Grace and Leon if you try and schedule pre-loading the client. The image comes from Bluewav on YouTube, whom known horror game leaker DuskGolem has shared an image of as well:

If that’s not good enough for you, here’s a higher-res image of it:

Yep, that’s Leon, alright! He looks way older in this one, which is understandable given the timeline Requiem is set in.This puts to rest months of speculation, and how Capcom devs even mentioned how Leon is a “bad match for horror” and all that.

Chances are, this reveal was set for The Game Awards, since Capcom did confirm the game will have a presence there. Most likley, a new trailer featuring Leon would be presented, though the cat’s out of the bag now.

There are a lot of questions left unanswered about Requiem, but at the very least, gamers can rest easy knowing Leon S. Kennedy is on the case.

Resident Evil Requiem is set for release on February 27, 2026 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Check out our latest hands-on with the game for more info about it.

In other Resident Evil news, we uncovered details on Resident Evil 0 remake’s development, and horror fans will want to read up on it.

Silent Hill f New Update 1.003 Applied for Red Capsule Changes via Patch 1.11

Last month, developer NeoBards released a new casual difficulty mode in Silent Hill f, alongside a host of fixes. Today, the developers released Silent Hill f update 1.003 (complete version 1.003.000), which the studio calls patch 1.11.

This is a minor update that doesn’t add any new features, but it does squash some bugs, and also makes getting one of the endings a little bit easier.

Players will see the version number in the lower right corner of the main menu to be displayed as v1.2.382755 once the patch has been applied.

Silent Hill f New Update on December 9 Brings Red Capsule Changes for New Game+

System Changes

Removed Red Capsules from Specific Sequence in NG+

On New Game+, obtaining the front door keys to Shu’s house without using the red capsules even once will remove all red capsule placements. This triggers the “don’t take any Red Capsules” condition required for certain endings.

Updated License Information

The LICENSE.txt file downloaded during installation of the base game has been updated to include license information for tools that had been unlisted previously.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed issue where the “No One Left Behind” achievement does not unlock on the Casual action difficulty.
  • *Fixed other various minor bugs.

While today’s patch is a minor update, it should help in ensuring players don’t accidentally pick a Red Capsule up if they are aiming for that one ending.

Chances are, this is the last patch from NeoBards for a while, unless the developers have something new to add in the coming months.

The next thing to look forward to for Silent Hill fans is a remake of the original, whcih is being handled by Silent Hill 2 remake devs Bloober Team. Rumors are pointing to a The Game Awards reveal for the horror game, which would fall in line with the studio’s claims that they do not expect “longer downtimes between big releases” when it comes to their games.

Nintendo Switch, Switch 2 Update 21.1.0 Released

Nintendo has released Switch 2 update 21.1.0, which is available to download now worldwide. This is another minor system update that doesn’t really add anything new for players.

Given we’re almost at the end of 2025, don’t expect another system update to be released anytime soon, especially if it’s one that’s aimed at adding new features.

For those still playing on the original Switch, the firmware is also available for that console as well.

Nintendo Switch 2 System Update 21.1.0 Now Available for Download

According to Nintendo, the Switch/ Switch 2 update released on December 8 (December 9 for those outside the US), is for the following:

  • General system stability improvements to enhance the user’s experience.

Note that both consoles’ patch notes are the same, which is par for the course most of the time.

That’s to be expected, as these security fixes are almost always marked as this one.  The latest system update we saw before this was two weeks ago, which means this is a rather quick follow-up.

In other news related to the Switch 2, Sony announced a Japan-only PS5 and this is to counter Nintendo’s dominance in its homeland.

Once another system update is out, expect it here on MP1st.

The Boys First-Ever Video Game Announced, But It’s Not What You Were Expecting

It’s hard to believe that ever since it first aired in 2019, we still don’t have a video game adaptation of The Boys — Amazon’s hit TV series based on the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson.

That’s changing soon, though it might not be what fans were expecting.

Announced today is The Boys: Trigger Warning, and it’s headed to PlayStation platforms! Unfortunately, that’s where the good news ends for those expecting a core The Boys gaming experience.

The Boys’ First-Ever Video Game Is Purely for VR Fans

Check out our first gameplay look at The Boys: Trigger Warning via the reveal trailer.

In development by ARVORE and published by Sony Pictures Virtual Reality, The Boys: Trigger Warning is a new virtual reality experience built for the PlayStation VR2 and Meta Quest 3. The game is now available for pre-order for a limited-time promo price of $23.99 on both the Meta Quest storefront and to wishlist on the PlayStation Store.

Launching in 2026, this stealth-action VR game puts players on the front lines of the war against Supes. The good news is, it’ll feature TV show cast members who are returning to the game to reprise their roles. Fans can expect Laz Alonso (Mother’s Milk), Colby Minifie (Ashley Barrett) and P.J. Byrne (Adam Bourke). Jensen Ackles also appears as a “twisted interpretation of Soldier Boy,” created exclusively for the game.

Per the press release, the plot synopsis reads, “Developed with the creators and featuring cast members from the hit series, The Boys: Trigger Warning introduces an original character who accidentally uncovers a grotesque Vought secret that turns a family outing into carnage. Forced to become a Supe, the player joins The Boys to infiltrate Vought and take revenge in the most chaotic way possible. Blending stealth and combat with the franchise’s signature dark humor, the VR title delivers a new story rooted in the world fans love.”

I admit, as a fan of the show, this is a little underwhelming. That said, at least we are getting a game off of the show, right? Who knows? This might be the first of many games planned for the hit TV series, and maybe we’ll have one that’ll feature a core game experience.

The Boys: Trigger Warning is set for release sometime in 2026, though there’s no definite release date yet. As for the TV series, The Boys Season 5, which is the final season, is set to air on April 8 on Amazon Prime.

For those looking for more superhero gaming news, earlier this year, we gave gamers a first (and super early) look at Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra. Not only that, we also reported that Marvel’s Wolverine is aiming for a 2026 release — which Sony confirmed as legit — and that the Venom project is still in development at Insomniac per our sources.

Grinding Gear Games is preparing for Path of Exile 2’s next major DLC this week, but before that happens, there are some few loose ends that need to be tied up first.

The developers have now released Path of Exile 2’s 0.3.1f  update, which console gamers will see as version 1.063 (complete version 1.063.000).

This is a minor update that ends the Rise of the Abyssal League more than anything else.

Path of Exile 2 New Update 1.015

The only changelog for the patch today according to Grinding Gear Games is for:

  • This is the end of the Rise of the Abyssal League. Your characters and their progress will be migrated over the next few hours following the patch. Thanks for playing!

Yep, that’s about it. Of course, there’s a lot to look forward to, as The Last of the Druids DLC is set to launch on December 12, and wil include the following:

  • Transform into a Bear, Wolf, or Wyvern as the Druid and ascend into the Oracle or Shaman.
  • Construct a temple in the new Path of Exile 2: Fate of the Vaal League and challenge both the Royal Architect and a new Pinnacle Boss: Atziri

Capcom Aims to Release New Games in Devil May Cry, Mega Man, Ace Attorney Franchises

While Capcom doesn’t have any shortage of hits when it comes to game releases, it’s usually the usual brands the past few years: Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter.

Oddly enough, the publisher’s wide range of game franchises in their catalog have remained dormant, though that might be changing real soon.

While no new game has been announced, Capcom’s latest statement indicates where the company is going when it comes to some key brands it owns.

Capcom Aims to Revitalize Devil May Cry, Mega Man, Ace Attorney Franchises

Devil May Cry Netflix

In Capcom’s Integrated Report for 2025, COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto’s has commented on some of the company’s key franchises, which should give fans hope when it comes to actual new game releases.

Again, nothing has been announced, but Tsujimoto’s  quote basically confirms Capcom aims to release new entries in the three franchises and build them into “core IPs.”

Tsujimoto’s quote reads (via Rockman-corner), :At Capcom, we aim to sustain our KPI of 10% or better annual operating profit growth along with our long-term goal of annual software sales of 100 million units. To improve our chance of success, we are working to resolve business challenges, issue by issue. Our efforts are focused on core IP such as the Resident Evil, Monster Hunter, and Street Fighter franchises, and mapping out mainline series entries and sequels, remakes, new IP, and ports of content to the latest hardware. We consistently release two to three major new titles each year, but recognize the need to grow our pipeline going forward. Capcom owns a wealth of globally popular brands, such as Mega Man, Devil May Cry, and Ace Attorney. We aim to expand our user base and improve our performance through new releases, remakes, and ports of titles in these series to new hardware. By enhancing brand power and cultivating loyal fan bases, we will grow these into core IPs.”

For reference, the last Devil May Cry game released was Devil May Cry 5, which saw the light of day in 2019. With no new entry announced, it means it’ll be at least seven years of no new game in the franchise has been pushed out.

As for Mega Man (Rockman in Japan), the last release for the franchise that wasn’t a collection or re-release was Mega Man 11, which was released in October 2018.

Here’s to hoping we get announcements of these franchises getting a new entry soon.

In other Capcom news, we recently reported that a new Dead Rising game is in development, with the first gameplay details revealed.

Super Animal World Preview – Venturing Beyond the Battlegrounds

The world of Super Animal Royale is expanding tomorrow with the release of Super Animal World. This massive free expansion adds an explorable social hub filled with activities for players to take part in, plenty of NPCs to interact with, and even a full-length story to complete.

While Super Animal Royale initially launched as a Battle Royale-inspired multiplayer game, this new expansion sets its sights on a new frontier, laying the foundation for what’s to come.

With the release tomorrow, we had a chance to go hands-on with the expansion, and I have to say, fans are in for a rather unexpected, but very welcome surprise.

A New World Awaits

Super Animal Royale has always been a strange little hit. It looks cute, it plays fast, and it has a personality that most battle royale games do not bother with. Of course, that’s mostly due to the game’s visuals and narrative, which come across as a violent parody of Animal Crossing set in a massive battlefield where only one can be left standing. As such, with any significant update to a battle royale game, we expect to see a new map, weapons, cosmetics, and other features that keep the core experience, well, its core. So, going into this preview, I expected we would get more of the same. Turns out, the Super Animal World expansion is much bigger than I expected. It does not feel like a minor update or a seasonal refresh. It actually changes how you spend your time with the game. After putting in a lot of hours, the whole thing feels like a natural next step the game needed.

The main new addition is the Social Hub. This is the feature that instantly makes the game feel more alive. Battle royales usually drop you straight into a queue or a dead lobby where you wait around, stare at walls, or spin in circles. Super Animal World replaces that downtime with a place you can walk around in and actually do things. It sounds simple on paper, but it makes a huge difference. You can run around, meet up with friends, check out what other players are wearing, or take on quests while you wait for your next match to roll in.

Those quests help you level up, too, which is a good bonus since you are no longer depending on how well you did in your last match. Even if you got knocked out early or had a bad round, you can still make progress just by hanging out in the Social Hub and doing the activities there. It makes the game feel more relaxed. You can log in for a short session and still get something done, which is a big improvement over the old structure.

The activities in the hub caught me off guard. Hamsterball racing, which is exactly as it sounds, was one of the surprise activities awaiting in this new expansion, and it was an absolute blast. It feels like a little minigame that could have been its own mode. The races are chaotic and goofy in exactly the right way. Fishing and bug-catching are much more laid-back, but they fit the game’s tone well. They give you something simple and oddly satisfying to do while talking with friends or waiting for a lobby. According to Pixile, more activities are on the way, which is great because the current ones already keep you busy for a long time.

One thing that really needed attention from the core experience was the UI, and the expansion completely rebuilt it. The old UI worked, but it always felt a bit stiff and dated. The new one is cleaner, faster, and honestly just nicer to look at. Swapping gear, browsing cosmetics, checking match settings, all of it is smoother now. It feels like the team looked at every menu and asked how it could be easier to use. It is the kind of improvement you do not appreciate until you go back and remember how the old one looked.

Another cool change is the addition of new NPCs in the Social Hub. They help give the place more personality and fill in some bits of lore the game never really showed before. Some are quest givers, some just exist for flavor, but all of them make the world feel a little more put together. It is fun to walk around and discover small details or hidden jokes while talking to these characters. It adds more to do between matches than I expected.

What stands out the most about the expansion is how much content is actually here. You can spend a long time in the Social Hub without touching a match and still feel like you are progressing. That is a big shift from the old loop of queue, match, queue, match. Now you have a reason to slow down and enjoy the space. It is easy to get distracted by a race or wander around fishing for something rare. There is enough variety to keep you entertained even during slower periods of play.

By the time I finished playing through everything the expansion offers, I felt like this is the version of Super Animal Royale the developers always wanted to make. It keeps everything fans liked but fixes the gaps. The downtime is fun now. Leveling feels better. The UI finally matches the game’s personality. The hub makes the world feel much more alive. It is a bunch of improvements that all point in the same direction.

If you already enjoy Super Animal Royale, then this expansion is going to make things even better. So much so that I would even say, even if you aren’t a fan of the genre, this expansion alone makes it worth checking out. It makes the game better in almost every possible way. I had a great time with it, and I can see myself spending even more time in the hub doing quests and chasing activities when I am not fighting for first place. If you have never tried the game before and you like battle royales with a different vibe, this might be the update that gets you to give it a shot. The style and the new features work really well together, and it might surprise you how much time you end up sinking into it.

Super Animal World officially launches tomorrow, December 9, 2025, as a free expansion for Super Animal Royale.

Frostpunk 2 Update 1.000.009 Released for New Content, Fractured Utopias DLC

Frostpunk 2 players on consoles will see two new updates greet them today, as after downloading version 1.000.007, you should see another file released, which appears as Frostpunk 2 update 1.000.009.

Base game owners, rejoice! As this update for the Fractured Utopias DLC also ushers in new content for free for every base game owner.

Frostpunk 2 Update Version 1.000.009 Released on Consoles for Fractured Utopias DLC

For base game owners, expect the following to be added via the DLC drop as part of your mandatory download:

  • Redesigned main menu
  • Ability to force your starting faction
  • Additional map
  • Additional Centrist Policies for existing laws

For DLC details, head on below for the breakdown.

Create one of the Unique Faction Utopias

In Fractured Utopias, every faction now delivers its own distinct style of play.

The DLC features an overhauled starting menu where you pick from 8 already known factions, each shaping the future direction of your city. Your selection defines the kind of Utopia you’ll aim to create. Will you chase cutting-edge innovation with the Technocrats, or forge a disciplined, militaristic society under the Legionnaires? The path forward is entirely up to you.

Once you choose a faction, you immediately gain access to its exclusive skill tree, filled with unique buildings, hubs, and abilities to unlock. Advancing through the tree depends on completing actions that earn favour with the group you’ve aligned with.

Every faction also grants its own set of traits, offering passive boosts that enhance your city’s stability and productivity. As you progress, your settlement will slowly evolve to mirror the style and philosophy of your faction, making each playthrough feel genuinely tailored to the choice you made.

8 New Hubs and Housing District Variants

Depending on which path you choose to forge your Utopia, the look of your City will adapt to it. Build new Hubs and Housing Districts, now dedicated to each of the 8 existing factions. Use them to unlock new benefits that help you survive the Frost.

City Unbound and the Unique Tales Feature

This City Unbound is a special one for us because it marks the reveal of our very first Frostpunk 2 DLC!

Tales in Frostpunk 2 were always meant to be played alone or mixed for an extra challenge. This is a feature never seen before in any existing strategy game. They are narratively framed gameplay twists – stories that explore how ideology holds up under extreme pressure.

They were designed to add a unique angle to your playthrough.

11 bit Studios confirmed that more “stuff” is set for the game in 2026. Also of note, don’t be surprised to see updates released to fix any issues from the DLC.

Stalker 2 New Update 1.7.1 for December 8 Applies Console Patch 1.006

GSC Game World has released the latest patch for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl on all platforms today (yes, that includes the PS5), and this is for version 1.7.1.

For those on consoles, you’ll see this download appear as STALKER 2 update 1.006 (complete version 1.006.000), and this squashes some annoying bugs in the Zone.

For the full changelog, read on.

  • Fixed an issue where the Ward NPC could teleport in the player’s field of view after killing noontiders during the Wishful Thinking mission.
  • Fixed an issue where the Ward soldiers could not help Skif to hold position during the Assault On The Duga mission.
  • Fixed a massive performance drop on opening PDA while the Shadows option is set to Epic.

  • Fixed an issue that could cause artifacts to spawn under the ground.
  • Fixed several issues with dead zone settings for the DualSense controller.
  • Fixed crashes.

That’s about it. While we don’t doubt that GSC Game World will have more patches in store for the game in the future, there’s no word on whether this is the last patch for gamers this year.

Once we know more, we’ll let our readers know.
