For Honor Update 2.44 Barrels Out for Year 7 Season 2 Vengeance This June 15 (Update)

Ubisoft has pushed out For Honor update 2.44, and this is for Year 7 Season 2 “Vengeance.” This brings a new civilization, new skins, and more! Read on for what’s new in the For Honor June 15 patch notes.

For Honor Update 2.44 Patch Notes | For Honor Year 7 Season 2 Patch Notes:

File Size: 1.7GB (PlayStation), 2.2GB (Xbox), 2.2GB (PC)

Update: The official patch notes are here and the article has been updated.

IMPROVEMENT

ONBOARDING

  • We’ve made changes to the Onboarding experience for new + existing players with the objective of streamlining and clarifying the Trials and provide a smoother bridge to multiplayer
  • Major changes are:
    • Essential knowledge is taught, and frustration elements are reduced throughout the Trials
    • Apprentice Trials and Warrior Trials are now both part of the Onboarding flow
    • All Trials are unlocked from the start (so you can skip if desired)
    • Stamina Trial is cut (it is instead taught contextually when needed)
    • Scoring and Secondary Objectives are removed (so it no longer tries to teach you to Guard Break after a Parry)
    • Adding a PvAI Dominion match, with the intent of giving new players a way to get familiar with our main game mode (with the safety of fighting only Bots)
    • Added a “How To Play” Dominion page at the start of this PvAI match
  • Rewards:
    • New players receive the rewards when all Trials are completed, including the PvAI Dominion match
    • Existing players will still be able to receive any remaining rewards when they have completed all the Trials. This should be much easier (as without the Secondary Objectives, players don’t have to win the 1v2 without getting hit)
Developer’s Notes: Please note that all rewards can only be received once if you previously received the Steel rewards you will not be eligible once again.

FIGHTERS

Nuxia

  • Glass Waltz and Jade Ballet are now 300ms (down from 400ms)
  • Heavy attacks now cancel to Glass Waltz at 500ms (up from 400ms)
  • Zone Attack now cancels to Jade Ballet at 700ms (up from 600ms)

Developer’s Notes: Nuxia’s changes to her Trap timings were found to be successful in the Y7S1 Testing Grounds, so now we integrate her changes into the Live game. The Testing Grounds showed that with these timings, players were unable to react to Traps, so this should be a strong boost to her core move set.

Warden

  • Side Heavy Finishers are now 800ms (down from 900ms)
  • Side Heavy Finishers now have improved trajectories to help hit external opponents
  • Shoulder Bash now can be done from 100ms-500ms into the front dodge (was 300ms – 500ms)

Developer’s Notes: Warden has been underperforming for a while, especially in group fights and at initiating offense in 1v1 scenarios. With these changes, the hero should be better equipped to hit opponents around them, as well as having a better way to get into Shoulder Bash from a front dodge.

Hitokiri

  • Opener Heavy Attacks now has Uninterruptable Stance beginning at 500ms at the earliest on the Uncharged Strike
  • Opener Heavy Attacks now has a minimum charge time of 300ms (down from 400ms)
    • This results in the hero’s Heavy Openers to have a 700ms timing when not holding down the Heavy Attack button, down from 800ms
  • Adjusted chain timings from Opener Heavy and Chained Heavy attacks to be from 200ms to 400ms (down from 366ms to 400ms)
  • Adjusted Zone Attack’s trajectory to better match weapon visuals
  • Heavy Openers now deal 22 damage (from 24)

Developer’s Notes: Hitokiri has also been underperforming, and so we’re doing some changes to help the hero get into their offense better. With Uninterruptible Stance on their Heavy Openers, we are hoping that Hitokiri is in a slightly better position as the hero should be safer when using these attacks to initiate offense. Their shorter minimum charge time should also help in making these attacks more potent. We’ve also adjusted the chain link timing after Heavy Attacks so that Hitokiri’s chain offense comes out at a more reasonable timing, giving the hero better pressure. Finally, Hitokiri’s Zone Attack should have better reach and hit opponents around better.

Aramusha

  • Blade Blockade now costs 10 Stamina on Entry (from 5) and 0 Stamina on Exit (from 10)

Developer’s Notes: Aramusha’s Blade Blockade had an extra penalty on whiff that made it extra punishing, but also rewarded using the move as a recovery cancel too rewarding, so we decided to switch around the stamina costs a bit. Overall, this is a buff for the hero on miss, but a nerf on successful blocks, which should even out over time.

Jormungandr

  • Chain Zone can now be performed while Out of Lock

Training Arena

  • Added a new option for opponent Bots in the Training Arena, called “No Block”. Intent is that players will be able to attack without the Bots Blocking

BUG FIXES

Medjay

  • [Bug Fix] Fixed an issue that caused Dodge Attack sound effect to not ends correctly if the attack was interrupted (FH-4276)

CROSSPLAY

  • [Bug Fix] Fixed an issue where players were unable to send group invites to accounts on a different platform with the same Ubisoft Connect account (Link to Bug Reporter Missing)

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ESRB Rating and Summary Swing Out

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 ESRB rating and summary are out, giving it a “T for Teen” rating. According to the ESRB website, Spider-Man 2’s Teen rating is due to the presence of “Blood, Drug Reference, Mild Language, Violence” in the title.

Notable mention of the “mild language” includes the uses of words like “prick” and “ass,” and the use of guns resulting in small splashes of blood, coupled with cutscenes with more violence reflect ESRB’s rating. Check out the full ESRB rating summary below:

This is an action game in which players assume the roles of Peter Parker and Miles Morales/Spider-Men as they attempt to save New York City from a new threat. From a third-person perspective, players fight crime, swing around buildings, and engage in melee-style combat with enemies. Characters mostly punch, kick, and throw each other during fights; central characters can use special symbiote-based and electricity-based attacks on enemies. Some enemies use pistols and/or machine guns during combat; gunshots sometimes result in small splashes of blood. Cutscenes depict further instances of violence/blood: a character choked to death; a dead body turned over; blood drops on a leaf. In some crime missions, characters can be seen trading unnamed drugs for weapons; drug packages can be seen in a car trunk. The words “pr*ck” and “a*s” appear in the game.

This is unsurprising as the predecessor to Spider-Man 2 also received a Teen rating with similar references to blood, drug reference, language, and violence.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 swings out on October 20 exclusively for the PS5.

Halo Infinite Season 4 Changes, New Content and Trailer Hypes You Up for June 20 Launch

Halo Infinite Season 4 is right around the corner, and a new trailer showcasing the game’s upcoming Infection mode has been released. The Infection game mode makes its return to the Halo franchise once Season 4 drops on June 20.

You can watch the trailer below:

Alongside some brief footage of Infection, we also get a sneak peek at the new maps in Scarr and Forest as well as new equipment in the Quantum Translocator and Threat Seeker. The trailer also shows off the enhanced weapon customization update and the new Forge Community Doubles Playlist, featuring Daimyo, Arrival, Dead Water, and Last Broadcast.

For those new to the series, Infection is a game mode found in various Halo titles that was derived from zombie-mode custom games in Halo 2. Players join the match as Survivors or Zombies, with the goal of the Survivors to stay alive for as long as possible. Players as Zombies will attempt to infect Survivors, with successful infections turning said players into Zombies themselves. When only a single Survivor is left alive, they are known as the “Last Man Standing,” with unique player traits such as having their location revealed to the Zombies.

In case you missed it, here are all the updates coming to Season 4 in Halo:

SANDBOX

(blog link here)

Quantum Translocator – Once secured, the first button press activates the Quantum Translocator and creates a slipspace thread at that location. After repositioning around the map, the second use of the QT will teleport the player back to that original thread location. However, upon teleporting, a new thread is created at the location the player just teleported from and the thread they just teleported to (the original thread) will disappear.

Threat Seeker – It’s different from the Threat Sensor in that it only sends out one pulse, requires the opponents to be within its line-of-sight (meaning it will not reveal enemies around corners or through walls), and the equipment’s projectile can bounce in order to reward accuracy by allowing for unique and clever shots. If an opponent is within its radius and direct line-of-sight when it pulses, they will be revealed for the same duration as a player’s shield recharge timer.

FORGE

(blog link here)

New Objects

  • Static Water Plane
  • Forerunner Object Pallete Additions
  • Universal Blocker Object

Minigame Mode – Minigame, a brand-new game mode in Halo Infinite, will allow creators to build modes from scratch. Much like Halo 5’s Minigame mode, this mode contains no underlying game logic and gives Forgers complete control of making the mode they desire.

Budget Improvements – We’ve also heard the community feedback about wanting to have the various aspects of a map’s budget communicated effectively. We want to ensure creators can take full advantage of each system’s budget, understand it more clearly, and ultimately maximize Forge’s potential.

VFX Improvements – In Season 4, VFX objects—such as placeable fires and explosions—will be able to be scaled to your desired size. These VFX objects are also getting two high-requested toggles to help ensure Forgers can use them in various ways. The new Damage and Audio output options for these VFX objects mean that they don’t always need to deal damage or play sound effects, that can now be determined directly by the map maker themselves.

Quality-of-Life Updates –  We’ve also been working hard to bring additional quality of life (QoL) updates to your existing workflows. One update that will help players art up their maps even faster is that material changes will now affect all objects within a prefab. Another QoL improvement is tied to the asset management side of Forge. Now, when saving a new version of a Forge map in the pause menu, players will be able to add a custom note for that version. Beyond these core additions, improvements, and quality-of-life updates though, there will also be many bug fixes coming with Season 4.

CAREER RANK

(blog link here)

Overview – Career Rank will provide players with an opportunity to advance through a larger progression system that reflects their time in Halo Infinite. Similar to the progression systems in Halo: Reach and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, each level will have military-style ranks with unique names and corresponding icons.

Progression – As we alluded to above, Career Rank will likely feel most like MCC’s progression system. “Tiers” such as Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc. are the largest bucket, which are all broken into smaller military-style “Ranks” such as Cadet or General. Then, within each of those Ranks, you will move in three smaller increments called “Grades.”

Presentation – Once you start working your way up the ranks, you’ll also likely want to start showing off your level. Fortunately, there will be plenty of ways to see your rank (and those of other players).

With Season 4 set to launch this June 20, Halo Infinite players will only have to wait a few more days before they get to try out Infection once again.

GTA Online Easter Egg Contains Cryptic Message That Could Be Hinting at GTA6 or Aliens

A GTA Online Easter egg has been discovered on a T-shirt, and players are speculating as to what it actually means (or if it’s somehow connected to Grand Theft Auto 6). The Easter egg was part of the new San Andreas Mercenaries update for GTA Online which just launched yesterday (You can check the patch notes for the update here).

In the update, a shirt mysteriously titled “??? Tee” was included among the new cosmetics, and while it does seem like a simple printed tee at first glance, the numbers found around the shirt actually hide a secret message of sorts. The numbers are actually written in an A1Z26 cipher, which is a fancy term for a hidden message containing letters replaced with numbers. A is replaced with 1, B is replaced with 2, and so on. When decrypted, the string of numbers reading “15140504012523091212180522050112011212” actually translates to “ONE DAY WILL REVEAL ALL.”

gta online easter egg

It’s an ominous message, but while many may jump the gun and speculate that it has something to do with GTA 6, the message is vague enough that it could refer to basically anything. In fact, the shirt itself is already mysterious enough, with a humanoid-shaped face surrounded by odd symbols. The message could very well be there to add flavor to the print and nothing more.

Over on Twitter, YouTuber LegayKillaHD theorizes that it could be aliens coming to GTA Online. This is further backed up by datamining, where assets with numbers were found that state “Connect The Line” and “We Are Watching” in addition to a bunch of Halloween-themed content coming later this year.

That hasn’t stopped many from making guesses, though, as can be seen among the replies to this Twitter post. One reply reads, “Looks like the GTA 6 dripfeed has begun,” with another stating “Hell of a find ladies and gents. Hopefully we get a trailer THIS year.”

With the GTA 6 leaks last year, it’s technically not entirely out of the question that the message is referring to the upcoming game.

Armored Core 6: Combat, Customization, and Boss Fight Featured in New Raw Gameplay

New Armored Core 6 gameplay footage has crawled out, and it’s shaping up to be pretty good. Here’s a breakdown of all the features showcased in the gameplay presentation and some raw commentary-free gameplay footage.

Check out the commentary-free Armored Core 6 gameplay right here:

Previews for Armored Core 6 also went live today, with writers praising the game’s sense of verticality. The variety allows players to have different playstyles for each mission, depending on your loadout. Players can either fly to an objective or walk towards it on foot. Moreover, players can scan the enemies in advance or just go blindly, guns blazing.

Apart from the mech’s verticality, there’s also a massive amount of variety when it comes to locations. There are vast, open-level designs alongside small interiors. Locations include both natural land and man-made places but are rather grey. Thankfully, due to the phenomenal lighting work by FromSoftware, those locations are brought to life and look not so dull.

A short look at the game’s comprehensive customization mechanics is also shown. There are slots for multiple weapons, and the ability to swap out limbs or change your mechs color. Customization holds great importance in Armored Core 6, as players are given the option to make changes to their mech as soon as they die before respawning.

Combat in Armored Core 6 doesn’t fail to impress either. It is much faster than a souls-like, with players being able to dash or activate thrusters and cover a greater distance quickly. You can unleash your rockets and then melee (which is powerful and satisfying) your enemies with a powerful laser sword.

The gameplay footage ends with a boss. The boss wields all kinds of weapons you can think of and is rather fast on his feet. It is important to learn the attack patterns and approach the boss tactically, like FromSoftware’s souls-like titles.

Make sure to take your mech for a spin when Armored Core: Fires of Rubicon launches on August 25 for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.

Diablo 4 Exploit Allows Player to Reach World Tier 4 at Level 3

Diablo 4 is a game that requires players to sink in hours upon hours of gameplay in order to progress through World Tiers, which affects difficulty and rewards, but one Reddit user seems to have found a way to unlock World Tier 4 with a Level 3 character.

User DrokgarX revealed the exploit on the Diablo 4 subreddit. To do this, you need to turn in some quests and have a friend that’s strong enough to tackle the capstone dungeon for World Tier 4.

Level 3 is the lowest level you can be getting into WT4
byu/r34ct1v3 indiablo4

Simply put, DrokgarX used the “Skip Campaign” option that allowed them to start their character with the campaign already effectively completed (note that this is only available after completing the campaign at least once). Doing so spawned DrokgarX’s character in Kyovashad, and all they had to do at that point was join their friend in the capstone dungeon and die to ensure that they would not gain any experience from it. Once their friend cleared the capstone dungeon, World Tier 4 finally became available.

Getting to World Tier 4 at such a low level isn’t without its drawbacks. Enemies can instantly kill you, and you’ll essentially have to rely on your friend to kill them for you. If done right, however, gaining experience is incredibly fast—DrokgarX got his character to Level 26 in a span of 8 minutes.

While it’s not necessarily a game-breaking exploit, don’t be surprised if Blizzard decides to fix this method of reaching World Tier 4.

Lego 2K Goooal! Rated for “All Ages” in South Korea

Lego 2K Goooal! has been rated by South Korea’s Game Rating and Admission Committee. If the name looks unfamiliar to you, it is probably because the game has yet to be announced. Korea has given the “all ages” ranking to the title, and the Committee notes that the applicant for the rating was none other than Take-Two Interactive.

Lego 2K Goooal! first appeared in a report from early last year (via VGC), which suggested that 2K Games and Lego are partnering to develop multiple sports games, including a football title and an open-world racing game. The open-world racing game, Lego 2K Drive, was released earlier last month, suggesting that the report was accurate.

From the same report, it seems like Lego 2K Goooal! is being developed by Sumo Digital (known for Sackboy: A Big Adventure), and published by Take-Two Interactive.

With an official rating by a governing body, it seems like an announcement for Lego 2K Goooal! is imminent. Stay tuned to MP1st as we will let our readers know as soon as an official announcement of the upcoming title is out.

OPERATORS

New Operators

Nikto

  • The former FSB deep-cover agent was first spotted in Modern Warfare® (2019), using his menacing signature black mask to cover the disfiguration of his face caused by Mr. Z. A methodical and calculated soldier, Nikto is a natural-born leader who appears to fear nothing, with next to no gaps in his skill set as the ultimate soldier of fortune.

Ana Vega

  • The daughter of paramedics and Army reservists with family roots in Cuba, Ana Vega never had the opportunity to get to know her parents. Both were killed during rescue operations in the early days of the Urzikstan conflict. The Gold Star child followed in their footsteps in attempt to reconnect with her fallen parents, graduating with top honors from the United States Military Academy and enlisting in the Army’s Combat Medic Specialist Training Program (CMSTP). Proving her exemplary proficiency in combat and as a medic, she eventually caught the attention of her commanding officer, who fast-tracked her to a position on a prestigious Special Forces unit with the 75th Ranger Regiment.

Competitive Integrity Features

  • From Start to Finish: Players who disconnect or quit matches will receive SR penalties as well as temporary suspensions, with escalating penalties for repeat offenders.
  • SR Forgiveness: If a player disconnects or quits in the middle of the match, all team members outside of that player’s party will not lose ANY SR.
    • It is still possible to earn SR if players can overcome their disadvantage, but a loss at a numerical disadvantage will not yield SR loss for players outside of the leaving player’s party.
  • Fair Fights, Even Teams: If a player quits or disconnects before the start of a match, the match will be canceled and will not count. The remaining players will be returned to the main menu.
  • Professional Conduct Only: Friendly Fire is enabled in Ranked Play per CDL rules. Repeated Friendly Fire will result in players being kicked from games and receiving penalties and suspensions.
  • Demotion Protection: After advancing to a higher Skill Division, players will be granted temporary Demotion Protection and will not lose any SR within the first three games in the new Division. Following that initial protection, if players were to lose enough SR to be demoted, they will first be dropped to the minimum threshold of their current Skill Division instead of being demoted. Losing their next match will result in a demotion.
  • Demotion Protection is also applied for the player’s first 3 games of each Ranked Play Season.
  • Party SR Restrictions: To ensure competitive fairness and balance of matches in higher Skill Divisions, players in certain Divisions can only party up with players around their current SR. The player with the highest Skill Division in the party determines which Party SR Restrictions are used:
    • Iridescent (Including Top 250) & Crimson: Can party with players within 1 Skill Division
    • Diamond: Can party within 2 Skill Divisions
    • Bronze – Platinum: Can party up without any restrictions

MAPS

Squad dropping into new map Vondel.

New Map

  • Vondel
    • Developed by Beenox, the new Vondel map offers 15 distinct points of interest and a dynamic blend of urban streets, canals, and expansive structures to explore. It presents a unique topography centered around an intricate canal system, allowing Players to navigate through water using watercraft and the new Tactical Amphibious Vehicle (TAV). Additionally, the map features verticality and strategic opportunities to counter those who seek to take the upper hand.

Beenox is super proud to be behind the creation of Vondel, the first urban medium sized map in Warzone. European by inspiration, we created an immersive and diverse layout including a Zoo, a Castle, a Floating District, multiple townhouses and so much more.

Our team also made sure that our visually striking map has seamless navigation. From top to bottom, from rooftop to water canals, from the Graveyard to the University, you will always find your way to the next encounter in Vondel. We built this map considering all our previous Warzone experiences in mind, and like we did with Rebirth Island in the past, we wanted to create something fun, unique and engaging with enough depth so that there’s always something cool to try and learn from every time you play in Vondel.

Our focus was to deliver something fresh to delight our players. Throughout the process of working on this map and its content, we engaged in ongoing discussions with the development teams, considering the importance of delivering a novel experience to our community. The goal here from the beginning was to create something new enough that you would love to immerse yourself in, and learn every corner of it. We will continue to look at the feedback from the community to continue improving and evolving the experience in the near future for Vondel.

In addition to the new map, we continue to evolve and improve the Resurgence game mode we created for Warzone to provide a rich experience in every match. Resurgence is on our roots as a Studio, and now we’re kicking it up a notch for Season 04. With that and the new Dynamic Fog system, the new gameplay elements, and so much more, we can’t wait for you to play some matches on Vondel.

Grab your gear and weapons! Welcome to Season 04!

Adjustments

Al Mazrah

  • Sandstorm
    • The sandstorm in Al Mazrah has subsided.
    • Al Mazrah City now has several sand banks to climb upon, which offer new and creative ways to approach some of the city’s prominent buildings. Specifically, expect a massive sand dune up the side of the TV tower, the Embassy, and the “Highrise” building. The dunes also piled up across some roadways, including covering parts of the highway system, and nearly flooded entire small structures in the main downtown area. There is also some partial destruction that will offer new approaches to maneuvering in, within, and out of the city.
  • Landscape
    • Added vibrancy to vegetation throughout the map.

MODES

Squad with heli support dropping into Vondel.

New Mode

  • Lockdown Vondel | Limited-Time | In-Season
    • Inspired by the Multiplayer mode Hardpoint — Lockdown will task teams with capturing and holding zones around Vondel rather than being the last Squad standing. The first team to reach the score limit wins.
    • Key highlights:
      • Objective-based gameplay
      • Allows for Custom Loadouts right at the start of the match
      • Frequent engagements

GAMEPLAY

Adjustments

All Maps | All Modes

  • Player Health
    • The base Player Health pool has been increased to 150, up from 100.
    • With full Armor Plates, the combined total will equal 300.
    • Regen Delay increased to 7 seconds, up from 5.
    • Note: The above changes apply across all Modes in Warzone including Ranked Play and DMZ.

We’ve extended the number of bullets required for the down, while increasing the time to regenerate full health enabling Players to capitalize on damage done and providing increased value to the stim tactical.

  • Armor Plates Quality of Life
    • Players will automatically pick up 9 Armor Plates – 3 in the active Loadout slot and 2 full stacks in the Backpack. Players will have to manually pick up Armor Plates beyond that threshold to create more stacks in their Backpack.
  • Armor Box Quality of Life
    • Players will now receive a fixed number of 6 Armor Plates from Armor Boxes regardless of how many they already have.
  • Munitions Box Quality of Life
    • Players will now receive a fixed stack of Weapon ammo from Munitions Boxes regardless of how much they already have.
    • To clarify, Lethal and Tactical Equipment will still only Refill to the maximum the Player can hold in their active Loadout slots.

Both of the above Quality of Life improvements for the Armor Box and Munitions Box are designed to improve the gameplay loop, where previously you would have to remember to drop your Armor Plates and Ammo in order to fill them, whereas now you are awarded the maximum amount regardless as to your current number.

  • Vehicle Fuel
    • Gas Cans will now drain a percentage of total Gas while refueling a Vehicle.
    • You can now siphon Gas out of a Vehicle using a Gas Can.
    • Rather than catching fire when out of fuel, the Heavy Chopper will now drop out of the air.

SR (Skill Rating) & Divisions

Test yourself against your peers and track that progress with a visible SR (Skill Rating) that determines your place across 8 Skill Divisions.

  • All players begin our first Competitive Season in Bronze I with 0 SR.
  • Players earn SR based on match performance, with SR awarded for Kills and Assists, being alive when their Squadmates earn Kills, and outlasting other Squads.

Breakdown: Earning SR

  • Kills and Assists
    • Players gain SR over the course of each match each time they get a Kill or assist, with Kills and assists being treated equally to encourage teamwork between Squadmates.
    • Players will also receive some SR if they are alive when their Squadmates get a Kill that they didn’t contribute to.
    • To reward high-stakes Kills late in the game, SR increases over the course of each match based on the number of Squads left alive:
      • 21+ Squads Remaining: +5 SR per Kill/Assist, +2 SR per Squadmate Kill
      • 3 – 20 Squads Remaining: +7 SR per Kill/Assist, +3 SR per Squadmate Kill
      • 1-3 Squads Remaining: +15 SR per Kill/Assist, +7 SR per Squadmate Kill
  • Final Placements
    • Additionally, players earn SR based on final placement at the end of the match:
      • Top 40: +10 SR
        • Top 30: +20 SR
        • Top 20: +30 SR
        • Top 10: +40 SR

        • 3rd: +60 SR
        • 2nd: +80 SR
        • 1st: +100 SR
    • Player’s will see this SR added throughout a match. Reach Top 40 and you’ll gain 10 SR. Reach Top 30 and you will see another 10 SR for a total of 20 SR
  • SR Tracker
    • Players will be able to see and track SR earned via Kills, Asists, Unassisted Squadmate Kills, and Placements on a visible tracker in-game.
      • The SR Tracker will be visible while alive or spectating a Squadmate and will always display your own SR for the current match.
      • If your team is eliminated, the SR Tracker will be hidden when spectating an Enemy Squad, and your final earned SR will be shown in the After Action Report.

Breakdown: Deployment Fees

  • At the beginning of each match, a Deployment Fee is deducted from each player’s current SR total.
  • The higher the player’s Skill Division & Tier, the higher the Deployment Fee. This ensures that each division has increasing performance expectations and player’s must exceed those expectations to progress.
  • Players must earn this amount of SR in the following game if they wish to advance towards the next Skill Division or Tier. Failing to earn back the Deployment Fee will result in players losing SR for the match.
    • Bronze I-III: No Deployment Fee
    • Silver I: -10 SR
    • Silver II: -14 SR
    • Silver III: -18 SR
    • Gold I: -23 SR

Competitive Integrity Features

  • Rejoin: Players that unintendedly disconnect from a match will be able to reconnect to the match within 4 minutes.
    • In order to uphold the Competitive Integrity of Ranked Play, certain criteria must be met in order to rejoin a match:
      • Players must have at least 1 Squad member remaining.
      • There must be at least 5 Squads remaining in the match.
      • Players can only rejoin the same match once.
      • To protect against abuse, players can have their ability to Rejoin temporarily limited if they repeatedly disconnect from matches.
    • Callouts:
      • Players that have been eliminated for over 3 minutes and intentionally disconnect  via ‘Leave Match’ will not be presented with the option to Rejoin.
      • Players that disconnect while operating a vehicle will be ejected from the driver’s seat.
  • Squad Backout / Match Cancel: If you lose a matchmade teammate before the match begins, your squad will be taken back to the lobby so you don’t start the match shorthanded. If too many squads get backed out before the match begins, we will return everyone to the lobby to find a better match.
  • Suspensions & Penalties: Disconnecting from matches early and not rejoining will result in SR Penalties and Matchmaking Suspensions. Repeated disconnects will result in higher SR Penalties and longer Suspensions.
    • Note: Players that have been eliminated for over three minutes can disconnect from the match via “Leave Match” without penalties.
  • SR Forgiveness: If a matchmade teammate disconnects during a game and does not rejoin, you won’t lose any SR for the match. You’ll still be able to gain SR if you manage to gain more than your Deployment Fee.
  • Demotion Protection and Division Stickiness: Everytime you are promoted to a new Division, you’ll gain 3 games of Demotion Protection where you won’t lose any SR. Once those games have passed, if you happen to lose enough SR where you would normally get demoted, we will set you at the Division SR floor (Gold would be 2100 SR for example) to give you one more chance before getting demoted.

Additional Features

  • Find A Party: Warzone Ranked Play players can utilize the ‘Find a Party’ feature to find Squadmates of similar Skill before searching for a match.
    • This feature includes the following preference filters:
    • In-Game Communication Style: No Preference, Voice, Ping Only, and Text
    • Main Language: Select up to 3 language preferences: English (EN), French (FR), German (DE), Italian (IT), or Spanish (EU) (ES)
  • Playstyle: Competitive has been pre-selected and will remain locked for Party Finder.
  • Hot Streaks: Win a Ranked Play game to earn Victory Streak Flames that appear behind your Rank Icon in the lobby and in-game. Extend your win streak to progress the flames. Victory Streak Flames expire when you are eliminated or after 72 hours without playing a Ranked Play match. Go on a roll and the competition will know the heat is coming.
  • Social Profile: Your WZ Ranked Play Rank icon will be added to your Social profile anywhere your profile is viewed across Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty®: Warzone™ 2.0.

STABILITY

  • This update contains several fixes to reduce the number of known crashes. We continue to prioritize increased stability and crash fixes across all platforms.
  • Studio teams have made meaningful progress in deploying several server-related fixes and upgrades over the last few weeks. We have seen significant performance improvement in several areas of concern including crashes. We remain committed to tracking and pursuing these issues and will continue to share progress.

    • These circles move and collapse in size slower than before.

        • Top 5: +50 SR

Forza Motorsport Career Mode Will Be Always Online, “Any Progression Requires an Online Connection,” Says Turn 10

At the Forza Monthly Livestream, developer Turn 10 Studios has confirmed that the Forza Motorsport career mode will require a constant internet connection. Chris Esaki, Creative Director, confirmed that by large, anything tied to Forza Motorsport progression and career will require players to be always online, as it will be stored in Turn 10’s servers.

“…so any progression in-game will be stored on our (Turn 10) servers to support the integrity of the overall game experience, and there are options to play offline, so things like Free Play are always available, but ANY progression requires an online connection.”

Forza Motorsport Career mode being always online is largely due to the new Builders Cup. The Builders Cup contains different playlists with specific themes. Turn 10 claims that they will be constantly updating the playlists with new cars, tracks, and more, therefore requiring a constant internet connection, and you will not be able to make any progress online.

Esaki says:

“The game has been designed to easily adjust and add new content overtime… and that’s to ensure a fair and secure experience anywhere in the game.”

You can watch the full Forza Monthly Livestream here:

This won’t be the first time a racing sim has required an internet connection in the career mode. Just last year, PlayStation-exclusive Gran Turismo 7 required players to be always online as well, and was met with criticisms among the fans. We will have to wait and see if Forza Motorsport goes through a similar fate.

Forza Motorsport reboots the franchise once it launches exclusively on Xbox Series X|S and PC on October 10, 2023. Like every other Xbox Game Studios title, the game will be launching day one on Xbox Game Pass.

Black Desert Online Land of the Morning Light Review – Scary Tales in Korean Folklore

Pearl Abyss has unleashed the latest Black Desert Online expansion, keeping up the pace at which new content is released to one of the currently most played triple-A MMORPGs. Each expansion usually brings a set of new features such as a new class or an awakening advancement, but for Land of the Morning Light, the spotlight is on the massive new region of the same name. Inspired by the Korean medieval Joseon era, with folklore serving as the fuel to the tales and bosses, this is a story-based update that should provide fans with many hours of exploration and twists, finely balanced with a remarkable dose of boss battles.

Stranger Tales

The Land of the Morning Light is this huge island with plenty of terrain to uncover riding your trusty mount in pure Black Desert Online style, which is the equivalent of saying that there are countless opportunities for character posing and picture snapping, as this game remains one of the most beautiful MMOs ever designed. Interestingly, new players can choose to start their adventure straight away on this island, although the challenges here are more suited to veteran adventurers, so take a deep breath and ponder seriously before embracing your choice. Furthermore, this is such a complex and in-depth game and world that going straight to the latest expansion may just be a bit too much for anyone.

There is no new class this time around, something that could be explained by the sheer amount of narrative content and boss creatures that you are in for this time. A huge game becomes even bigger with the various quest chains in this expansion, with eight different stories, eight different folklore-inspired bosses to defeat, complemented by dozens of cutscenes and sketches unraveling the mysteries. Most of the time you will discover the stories of a very eclectic cast, some menacing, some funny, with a few supporting elements leaning on the comic relief side, a welcome introduction considering that Black Desert Online can be a daunting game for the unwary.

Black Desert Online Land of the Morning Light Review – Scary Tales in Korean Folklore

Dolswe, for one, is a remarkably loyal and awkward companion, one that may not be quite on par with Lando from 2022’s expansion Eternal Winter in terms of goofiness factor, but he ranks as a close second. Stumbling on words, trying to be helpful and willing in overly formal terms, he is the kind of aid that everyone wants to have, until they realize he should dial it down a little as he wants to do too much. Since The Land of the Morning Light is stuffed to the brim with dialogue and quest text, it’s good to have these breaks to a story that often takes some serious and dark turns.

One of the most interesting aspects of this expansion is how each story feels unique and yet as part of the whole series; sometimes humorous, sometimes serious, and other times spooky. There’s the occasional bit of stealth thrown in for good measure, tons of adventuring in the new areas, fishing and gathering will be requested by some characters, but you’ll be able to immerse yourself in various ways, with some crossroad questlines forcing you to make a decision where there’s no turning back, no time for regrets.

Black Desert Online Land of the Morning Light boss review

The story of Bari may pique your interest over the origins of this odd human and give you some chills when you face her, while the tale of Songakshi may also raise the hair on your arms, as you unearth the reasons for this ghost to terrorize the poor villagers and culminate in a spooky boss battle. Finish one story, then pick another one at your will, a non-linear approach that makes this collection of tales even more appealing.

Defeating all the bosses paves the way for the ultimate monster of Land of the Morning Light – Imoogi, a gigantic serpent-like creature with sights set on becoming an actual dragon. It looks just as impressive as the rest, maybe slightly more than the bosses that came before, a testament to the terrific work with these beasts of varying sizes, shapes, and attack patterns.

Bosses, Bosses Everywhere

Black Desert Online Land of the Morning Light review

A Boss Blitz mode allows you to try your skills with the new bosses, using light orbs to manage your aura and get some extraordinary and varying buffs for the battle. This is a chance to prove yourself against other players in a leaderboard that is sorted by class and updated on a weekly basis. With clear times and calamity levels to increase both difficulty and rewards, this is a mode that is bound to prove very popular among veteran Black Desert Online players.

That’s not to say that Black Desert Online is perfect; there are some visible niggles that may be attributed to an engine that isn’t in its youth anymore, a remarkable one for sure, but they’re visible nonetheless, such as the way your horse skids like it’s on ice when you were barely throttling. Or the incessant quest accepts and dialogue skips that could be a lot more enjoyable if you weren’t required to click every second.

Still, with Land of the Morning Light, Black Desert Online goes for a bold and ambitious approach to its central mechanics, ditching the traditional monster grinding and introducing exciting boss fights. It’s a change that is bound to be welcomed by the community, a more pleasant take on the massive adventure, making you feel more involved in this world and less of a character with the sole instinct to grind, grind, and grind, while also providing a colossal share of challenges to go with the narrative.

Score: 8/10

Pros:

  • A pleasant focus on narrative and adventuring
  • Interesting Korean folklore tales, some of which with a nice touch of horror
  • Boss Blitz mode takes you straight to battle
  • Still a gorgeous, postcard-worthy game

Cons:

  • A few mechanics are starting to show their age
  • Unavoidable abundance of fetch quests
