  • Chilling Charisma – Namor has been removed from this team-up.

Mission System Adjustments

  • Weekly missions will be implemented so players can earn more Chrono Tokens and complete the Battle Pass by the end of the season.

Costume Colors and Gifting Costumes

  • New color options are coming to some of the popular costumes.
  • A new feature is being added to allow players to gift costumes to their friends.

Replay Compatibility Update

  • Upgrades have been made to the game’s network protocol to enhance performance. Sadly replays from Season 0 and 1 will no longer be supported, with he studio urging players to record them now before the update drops.

Balance Roadmap for Season 2 and Season 2.5

  • Mister Fantastic, Penny Parker, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, Rocket Racoon, and Jeff the Land Shark will be fine-tuned via team-up abilities and general balance adjustments. These will take time so they will be rolling out through both portions of Season 2.
  • Peni Parker will be getting buffs.
  • Captain America will be stepping up his competitive edge now that he is a new team-up anchor.
  • Doctor Strange is getting a nerf to his offensive powers, with improved survivability.
  • Scarlet Witch, Winter Soldier, Mister Fantastic, and Moon Knight will debut brand-new aggressive team-up abilities.
  • Rocket Raccoon team ability will be enhanced.
  • Loki’s Regeneration Domain and Adam Warlock’s Soul Bond will get modest nerfs.
  • More balance announcements are coming ahead of the Season 2 launch.

Ranked Adjustments

  • Competitive ranks are being reset.
  • Based on the player’s Season 1 standing, each player will drop nine divisions. For example, if you ended at Diamond I, you will start Season 1 at Silver I.
  • Hellfire Gala: Krakoa is entering map rotation.
  • Yggsgard Royal Palace and Tokyo 2099 Shin-Shibuya are leaving rotation.
  • Tournaments will use the same maps and modes as ranked.
  • Quick matches and custom games will still have every map.

Competitive Enhancements

  • The minimum level to enter competitive increased from level 10 to level 15.
  • Pick/ban will now come into play starting from Gold III rather than Diamond tier.
  • Individual performances will now have a bigger weight in rank. The better you perform, the more points you’ll earn in victory, and the fewer you’ll lose in defeat.

Tournament Plans

  • The studio is preparing for future tournaments.

Roadmap Ahead

  • The studio has been exploring and prototyping new modes they plan to introduce eventually.
  • Starting from Season 3, a new hero will debut every month.
  • Related systems will be adjusted accordingly.

As you can see, a hefty number of changes are coming. Mind you, this isn’t even the complete list, as more balancing changes will be discussed leading up to the release of Season 2. That, and the patch notes usually contain bug fixes and other improvements and changes.

We’ll have all of that posted here once the full patch notes are out, which should be the same day as Season 2’s launch on April 11.

Halo CE Mod Adds a New Way to Play Co-Op in the Worst Way Imaginable

[summaraize]

Now and then, I’ll see something online and ask myself, “Why?” Why in the world would anyone do or create such a thing? For what purpose? Well, not everything needs to make sense, and in the case of this latest Halo CE mod, someone has created a rather unique way to play co-op.

Think of a person standing on another person while wearing a trench coat and pretending to be an adult so they can purchase beer or something. That’s not entirely exaggerated, as this co-op mod puts two players in the body of a single Spartan.

Halo CE Mod Puts The Spirit of Two Players Inside of One Unlucky Spartan

Dubbed “Trenchcoat,” this Halo CE mod gives the control of a spartan to two players, for a rather unique way of co-op. As the name may hint at, each player will control each half of a Spartan, one from the waist down, while the other from the waist up. One controls the moving while the other does the aiming and shooting.

It sounds like a recipe for disaster, and based on the footage above, it is. But hey, I don’t dictate or judge how people play their games, and honestly, this mod could be a bit of fun to play around with. That’s assuming it doesn’t tear your friendship apart.

If this mod is up your alley, you can get it from its Steam Workshop page. If you decide you want to play like this with one of your unfortunate friends, well, I guess, good luck.

Latest BF Labs Datamine Unearths “Battlefield Pro” That Lets Players Host Persistent Servers in Portal and More

[summaraize]

While nothing has been announced by Electronic Arts, assuming the new Battlefield game currently in development will feature a Battle Pass of some sort seems like a safe bet. It looks like it’ll have more than that based on the latest Battlefield Labs leak.

Files pertaining to a “Battlefield Pro” has been unearthed, and this seems like your standard premium (read: paid) Battle Pass, though there’s a lot more to it than just skins and cosmetics.

Could the New Battlefield Game Bring Back a Version of Battlefield Premium?

According to the datamine, Battlefield Pro owners/subscribers will have the following benefits:

Battlefield Pro:

  • Includes Battle Pass: Get all the perks and rewards from the Battle Pass in addition to extra exclusive content
  • 6 Exclusive Instant Unlocks: Instantly access these BF Pro exclusive cosmetics
  • +10% Battle Pass XP
  • Portal: Host a Persistent Server
  • 20 Tier Skips Included: Advance faster on the Battle Pass path to race to the final reward!
  • Exclusive Bonus Path: Gain access to this exclusive Bonus Path for additional exclusive content. Bonus Path will be released later this season.
  • BF Pro Challenges: Access to the BF Pro Challenges vault – Unlock exclusive cosmetics from this season’s new BF Pro Challenges. Includes access to previous season(s) BF Pro challenges. Listen to the Pro Radio Station

Dataminers think this is similar to Fortnite’s Crew or Rainbow Six Siege’s R6 Membership. As you can see, it’ll offer more than just cosmetic items, with the big draw here being able to host a persistent server in Battlefield Portal (which we assume will be back given Ripple Effect’s involvement in the new Battlefield game).

Again, same with anything datamined or unofficial, treat this with a grain of salt for now. This could be something EA was planning and unsure whether to launch, or it could get a different name by the time it launches, or a different set of benefits.

Of course, you can’t think of Battlefield Pro without relating it to Battlefield Premium; EA’s paid pack was introduced in Battlefield 3. It bundled all the DLCs at a discounted price and even offered cosmetic items exclusive to those who owned it. It was like a Battle Pass before the Battle Pass was actually a thing.

Don’t expect EA to announce this anytime soon, as we still don’t even have a title for the in-development Battlefield game. Hopefully, that changes soon. For now, the various leaks and tidbits coming out of Battlefield Labs should tide us over until official info is revealed.

Would you be willing to get Battlefield Pro with the benefits listed above?

Den of Wolves Hands-On Preview – Diving Into Insanity

GDC came and went in San Francisco towards the latter half of March, with plenty of gaming-related news and upcoming titles to check out. Developer 10 Chambers, of GTFO fame, was in the area and invited MP1st to some first hands-on time with their upcoming cooperative first-person shooter, Den of Wolves.

Time to check out what this futuristic shooter has in store for us and how things have been shaping up since the game’s initial reveal.

Back on That Heist Shit

At Unity’s office in San Francisco, 10 Chambers had set up shop, just around the corner from where Unity was also hosting a Career Day. GDC is heavily focused on the development side of making games, after all, so the timing for such a day made sense. But we weren’t here to talk industry (though plenty of that happens anyway); we were here to play this hotly anticipated shooter from a standout developer.

Den of Wolves is a sci-fi, futuristic, first-person, heist-centered cooperative shooter. In the year 2097, AI has run amok and wrecked entire economies. Out of desperation, the world’s nations agree to let a group of corporations set up Midway City, an area where no laws would apply, in order to accelerate research and development to combat AI. While unethical, it is ultimately successful, as these corporations are able to take advantage of biological neural networks to create a new form of security that AI cannot breach. This saves the world’s economy and sets up Midway City as a major hub where any company that wants to make a name for itself wants to be.

A City Ripe for the Taking

Naturally, such an area is full of opportunity, especially for mercenaries for hire. You play as one of them, who we are told are not the “good guys,” if such a thing could exist on a lawless island, but then again, they’re also not really the “bad guys,” either. Simply someone hired to do a job. That job usually involves a lot of violence, theft, and sabotage, but so long as it pays well, what’s a little collateral damage amongst colleagues?

After a brief presentation explaining this and a bit more, we played a short skirmish level, which served as a way to get used to the controls before the main event. Once we cleared this intro level, we were ushered into a nearby cubicle. Not in the game, but in real life. There, a printed scale blueprint of our upcoming level was laid out on a table, along with some surveillance photos, printed out as if the in-game locations were taken by a reconnaissance team. We came up with a plan to go counter-clockwise, trying each vault in turn until we got enough loot to finish the level. This was an immersive way to get us ready to fight our way out of a vault.\

Execute the Plan

With a plan in mind, we headed back to our computers – beefy Windows machines, likely using some newer RTX GPUs complemented with an equally beefy CPU, RAM, etc. Things ran smoothly the whole time, and the Unity Engine impressed with detailed environments, excellent audio, and an overall level of polish most have come to expect from 10 Chambers. The mission we were playing was also cinematic – the area we saw felt lived-in, if not a bit trashed because a gang was currently holed up in one of the many skyscrapers dotting the landscape. These towering megastructures, according to 10 Chambers, are entire cities within a building. In this world, it’s not uncommon for some people to grow up and live solely within the tower, as it has every kind of facility, from schools to hospitals, parks, offices, and more. This sci-fi setting lets 10 Chambers create whatever they want, really, and it shows as they gleefully boasted that they have created over 600 fake in-universe brands. It sounds like 10 Chambers wishes to live and breathe this world for the foreseeable future.

Den of Wolves is a first-person shooter first and foremost, so control-wise, there isn’t much to be surprised by. You’ve got a loadout with a primary and secondary weapon, as well as a melee weapon, and you can take two gadgets: energy shields, turrets, and more. Much like in GTFO, it’ll behoove you to communicate with your teammates as you plan your heist, because while having a bunch of turrets might seem like a good idea at first, if no one also grabs a shield then you’ll have a hard time defending yourselves against each mission’s multiple dozens of enemies that the game likes to throw your way. Most of these enemies aren’t too tough on their own, but their sheer numbers can quickly overwhelm anyone who finds themself alone.

Trippy Diving

Up until now, Den of Wolves felt like a typical heist shooter, which, admittedly, is a niche genre. But then came “Dives.” Much like in GTFO, at certain points in the mission, all (currently alive) players must make it to a spot where a hacking device is attempting to get into the mind of a targeted individual. When it’s go time, everyone is advised to find cover because all action in the current mission will freeze in time while you’re all teleported to a Dive. This represents someone’s mind, and in the world of Den of Wolves, that means taking a break from all the mayhem to participate in some platforming. Jumps have a floaty feeling to them, and many walls can be walked on Inception-style. On a single mission, we went diving a handful of times. At first, I likened these sections to something like Mirror’s Edge on speed, but as each Dive increased in difficulty and trippiness, it reminded me of some of the light platforming available in Warframe. They were also very tightly timed – I finished one dive right behind a developer, and we had maybe three seconds left to complete it.

Once the dive was over, whether we had finished it or not, we were immediately teleported right back to our main mission, and play resumed exactly where we had left off. This transition was one of the coolest moments I’ve ever had in a shooter, ever. It feels like, finally, something truly fresh and new is happening in the first-person shooter space, and the best part is that you get to experience this with friends and family since it’s all in co-op.

Den of Wolves still has a while until a yet-to-be-announced release date – 10 Chambers simply says it’ll release “when it’s done.” But even at this stage of development, a lot of what 10 Chambers has learned from GTFO is evident here. Cinematic missions lead to some challenging fights, and a communicative team will help immensely. But the Dives feel like such a cool concept; it might turn out to be this game’s killer feature because the potential for it feels limitless.

Fans of the heist genre will want to keep a close eye on this one, as 10 Chambers leaves an impressive early impression that leaves us craving more. Even in pre-alpha, I can tell that Den of Wolves is already shaping up to be the game we’d expect to see from the creator of Payday.

Atomfall Update 1.004 Fixes Missing Ladders and Objects in a Specific Area

[summaraize]

Rebellion is continuing its post-release support of Atomfall by releasing a hotfix on all platforms, that resolves some nagging issues, though don’t expect any major sweeping changes in it. Called Hotfix 1.0.4 by the developers, console gamers will see this as Atomfall update 1.004 (complete version 1.004.000) and it’s a small download.

The key fix here is how ladders and other objects are now fixed in a specific area of the Interchange. Those on last-gen, Rebellion hasn’t forgotten about you, as the patch, which shows up as Atomfall download version 1.04, is also live and houses the same set of fixes.

Atomfall’s Latest Patch Fixes Resume and Suspend Bugs and More via Update Download 1.004

Here’s what’s new for today’s Atomfall patch according to Rebellion:

Fixes

  • Game stability improvements
  • Resolved some issues with Suspend/Resume on Xbox platforms
  • Fixed an issue where ladders and other objects would go missing in the Data Stores of the Interchange

Rebellion is aware of this for those encountering audio issues, and has mentioned, “We continue to work on a fix for the audio outages some players have been experiencing. This is a priority and we hope to resolve it as soon as possible.”

Expect another patch to resolve this. Once it’s live, we’ll post it on the site.

If you’re still on the fence regarding the game, our review goes in-depth about its shortcomings and what it manages to do right. Our own James Lara states, ”

With Atomfall, Rebellion has proven that their creative ambitions extend far beyond the tactical shooter genre, delivering a fresh and captivating experience that pushes the boundaries of what fans expect from the studio.”

The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered Update 2.000 Adds Bill and Marlene and New Trophies

[summaraize]

Naughty Dog has released a major content update for The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered just in time for its PC release today. The download, which players will see as The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered update 2.000 adds Bill and Marlene in No Return, and these aren’t just skins.

Bill and Marlene are fully playable characters with their own Challenges to complete and even skins to unlock. There are also new trophies in No Return, which I’m assuming is tied to the two new characters.

Titanfall 3 Rumored to Be Inbound in 2026

[summaraize]

Titanfall 3 has been a hot topic ever since the release of the second game in the franchise, but Respawn Entertainment has kept its distance from it for quite some time, which is understandable given the studio has been busy with Apex Legends and its own Star Wars franchise.

Although the game was once in development, it was eventually canceled as the developers shifted their focus to Apex Legends. However, two of the most reliable leakers have now hinted that the title could finally be in development and potentially arriving next year.

Apex Legends Leakers Suggest Titanfall 3 Release Set for 2026

titanfall 3

Recently, two Apex Legends leakers and dataminers, Osvaldatore and Yorotsuki, tweeted about how fun it is to announce something real on April Fool’s Day.

The leaker then shared a banner for Titanfall 3, stating that the game could be announced during The Game Awards 2025 and released the following year. Yorotsuki mentioned that he first heard about the title’s development back in December but waited to verify the information before sharing it.

Another leaker, Osvaldatore, has also confirmed the news, suggesting that the game is indeed in development. It’s worth noting that Yorotsuki is a reliable leaker who has previously accurately disclosed details about the overhaul of heirlooms in Apex Legends.

Given their track record, it’s reasonable to think that these leaks might be legit. However, it’s still wise to take this news with a grain of salt.

Regardless, Titanfall 2 provided one of the best single-player campaigns, packed with action. Unfortunately, Titanfall 2’s release didn’t go as well as publisher EA would have hoped, and most people attribute that to the game releasing between EA’s own Battlefield 1 and Activision’s Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

Even if that was the case, the game has garnered cult status in recent years with its awe-inspiring campaign, and excellent multiplayer. Back in 2023, Respawn CEO Vince Zampella said he would “love” for Titanfall 3 to happen, though mentions that it has to be the “right thing.” Could Respawn finally found the right thing they’re looking for, then?

While the info comes from reliable dataminers and leakers, this is still something that should be treated as a rumor until officially debunked or confirmed by Respawn Entertainment or EA.

Speaking of Respawn, the studio is not only working on the “final chapter” of its Star Wars single-player games, but the studio is also collaborating with Bit Reactor for a tactics-based Star Wars game, which we recently blew wide open with screenshots and early info before its official reveal later this month.

Here’s How Long You Can Play the Nintendo Switch 2 Before You Need to Charge Its Battery

[summaraize]

With the Nintendo Switch 2 now fully revealed, one of the biggest questions many have had is how long the battery life will last while playing games. Well, we’ve got an official answer straight from Nintendo, and for those hoping to see it improve over its predecessor, we have some bad news.

Nintendo Switch 2 Battery Life Leaves Much to Desired

Mario Kart World

As revealed on the Nintendo Switch 2 spec page on the Nintendo website, gamers can expect the battery life to last anywhere between 2 and 6.5 hours before having to charge it. This is all dependent on the type of activities you do on the Switch 2, meaning some tasks can prove to be more demanding than others, and things like volume level and brightness can also affect it.

This is a rough estimate given by Nintendo, meaning it could potentially run longer or even shorter. Nintendo notes that the battery capacity is 5220 mAh and can’t be removed or replaced unless you send it to Nintendo’s customer support (with a fee).

Now, the Nintendo Switch 2’s battery life is in line with that of the original Nintendo Switch, which also offered about the same amount of playtime. However, Nintendo eventually revised the original system with a better battery, and the Lite and OLED versions also saw an increase in battery life, averaging between 3.5 and 9 hours of playtime, depending on your activity.

Given that the Nintendo Switch 2 is more powerful than the original, capable of 120 frames-per-second at 1080p while in handheld mode (4K docked), and featuring an array of improvements, with better-looking games, it does make sense why the battery life would come up short. Still, many others, including myself, do feel a bit disappointed to see that it hasn’t really improved much over the first console.

We’re sure the battery will be improved in future iterations, but for now, you’ll just have to live with what it has.

The Nintendo Switch 2 begins pre-orders on April 9, with a release on June 5, 2025.

The First Descendant

Director’s Comments

Greetings, Descendants. This is the Director of The First Descendant, Minseok Joo.
The balance between Descendants has been an important topic of discussion in the community. Recently, successive releases of new overpowered Descendants such as Ines and Serena have caused some content being cleared way more easily than intended. We’re taking this trend seriously, and this rebalance is our first step toward addressing the problem.
This rebalance focused on strengthening relatively underperforming Descendants, using as basis the performance of Viessa, Valby, and Hailey, who are the current baseline. However, we recognize that for some Descendants, simply tweaking some numbers are not enough to bring out the best in them. We believe that the mechanics of certain skills may need to be reworked to achieve more meaningful performance improvements, but we had to adjust multiple Descendants simultaneously and we apologize for focusing on numerical balancing this time. We understand that you may find some changes inadequate because of that, but we’ll continue to review and implement improvements to skill structure and design.
Conversely, we determined that some of the Descendants whose performance significantly exceeded the baseline and could impact content structure needed adjustments. Ines is a prime example of this and her performance is significantly above the baseline, so we made some adjustments in this patch. Freyna’s performance is also above the baseline, but not so much that it breaks the flow of the content, so we’ve put the adjustments on hold. Serena is a firearm-based dealer who we believe is currently significantly exceeding the baseline, but since she hasn’t been released for long, we’d like to see more data before deciding on how to respond.
We don’t believe we can balance all the Descendants perfectly with this single patch. We’ll continue to closely analyze post-patch data and make further adjustments to Descendants that fall short of the baseline or are overperforming based on community feedback. We’ll also finetune Serena’s performance along the way.
We’re also keenly aware that we’ve been releasing new Descendants in an overpowered state. While the Dev Team does hope for the new Descendants to be in the spotlight, we don’t want them to be released overpowered to the point of breaking down the content structure. We’re looking internally at the reasons for this recurring issue, and we’re working to improve our development process so that we can deliver more stable and balanced content in the future.
We’re deeply grateful to all the players for their continued heartfelt feedback on The First Descendant. We consider this rebalance a step towards further refining the balance, and we’ll continue to make adjustments and improvements based on play data, and do our best to provide a better gaming experience.
Additionally, in response to community feedback, we are currently working on improving Serena’s wings so that they are no longer visible when she equips a common skin. The wings will only be displayed when she uses her skills, and this change will be implemented in the April 17 patch.

Gran Turismo 7 New Update 1.58 Fixes Steering Wheel Issues

[summaraize]

Polyphony Digital has released an unannounced Gran Turismo 7 patch today, and this is a minor patch that doesn’t bring any new cars or content. PS4 players should see the download as Gran Turismo 7 update 1.58 and it’s a small download.

The patch, which PS5 gamers will see as GT7 version 1.580, is aimed at fixing steering controller issues that surfaced after the content drop for March was released last week.

Gran Turismo 7’s Latest Patch Addresses Steering Controller Issues

Polyphony Digital has mentioned the following fix for today’s patch:

Improvements and Adjustments

Controllers

  • Fixed an issue wherein with certain steering controllers the haptic feedback would not work as intended during online races (both in Lobby and Sport mode.)

While there was a title update released today to address a specific issue, the studio is also looking at a good number of bugs as well, which we’ve included below.

Gran Turismo 7 Known Issues as of April 3:

Car Related

  • Unable to apply Styles created with the following cars distributed to eligible players on January 25, 2024.
・Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Vision Gran Turismo Concept
    ・BVLGARI Aluminium Vision Gran Turismo

To avoid the above issue, while this bug is being repaired please do the following:

  • Refrain from applying Styles saved using the above cars distributed on Thursday, January 25, 2024.
  • Only edit and save Styles with cars redistributed on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, and those bought in Brand Central.
  • To avoid confusion in the Garage, it is recommended to delete cars redeemed with the Car Tickets distributed on January 25, 2024, and Styles created with those vehicles.
  • Cars can be deleted from [Used Cars] > [Car Valuation Service], or from [Garage] > [Discard] menus. (The Car Valuation Service is only available when the feature has been unlocked during game progression. The Discard option is only available when there are two cars of the same model in the Garage.)
  • Styles can be deleted from [Showcase] > [My Items].

Application Error / Progression Blocker

  • In certain Race Events, the application crashes on the Rewards and Rating screen, preventing any further progression.

Multiplayer

  • In the Lobby, there have been cases where “Preparing” is displayed on screen, but the Host cannot start the race. Having all room members leave and re-enter the room will allow the race to be started.
  • In the Lobby, there have been cases where players in the same room do not appear on the member list or during the race. In this case, an application error will occur when the host starts the race.
  • In the Lobby, there have been cases in which completing a race would not let users progress further.

Expect these issues to be resolved in a future patch.

Fortnite Down and Modes Not Loading on April 2

[summaraize]

Just a few days after the Fortnite servers encountered issues, the game is suffering from another outage on April 2 (April 3 for those outside the US). Players are reporting that Fortnite is down, with modes not appearing for players.

This means that players can’t find matches, and whatever Epic Games did before, it didn’t take.

Fortnite Game Modes Having Issues Again (Update)

Update #2: Epic Games has confirmed that everything should be back in full operation.

Update: Epic Games has acknowledged the lobby outage and are working on it. Epic states, “Our team is investigating a similar issue with the Discover lobby not loading for players to select and queue for game.”

Due the outage, the NAW Divisional event has been delayed by an hour.

Original Story:

Reports on Downdetector have started pouring in recently, with users numbering over 3,000 who have claimed outage issues. This outage is affecting gamers on multiple platforms, so it’s not just one online service that’s out. So far, Epic Games has yet to acknowledge these issues. The last update on their status page states that they’re investigating crashes relating to NVIDIA GPUs when using DirectX 12 rendering.

Chances are, the developers will provide an update soon, though don’t expect it to be resolved quickly, as the last one took a few hours before things got back to norma.

If you’re having issues connecting, leave a comment stating your platform and where you’re connecting from, so other Fortnite players are aware of what’s happening. In the meantime, go read up on the latest patch for the game that brought in Scorpion from Mortal Kombat into the game.

Once Epic provides any official updates, we’ll add it to the article, so stay tuned here.

The Legend of Zelda Switch Games Getting Switch 2 Versions

[summaraize]

As part of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo announced that they will bring Switch titles to Switch 2 with enhanced versions. The first of these will be perhaps the platform’s biggest games, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, which will both feature enhanced visuals and some new features.

Nintendo has released a lengthy video to break down all of these improvements.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wilds and Tears of the Kingdom May Finally Run at Smooth 60 FPS

Now here’s a fun little fact for all of you: This will mark the third console generation that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wilds was released on, as it originally came to the Nintendo Wii U before releasing on the original Switch. Crazy, I know, but given the power behind the Switch 2, this is probably going to be the best way to play it, as well as Tears of the Kingdom. Both games suffered from performance issues, though Tears of the Kingdom more so.

While Nintendo hasn’t confirmed if they managed to get it to run on a locked FPS on the Switch 2, they did confirm, along with what else is being improved, that it will feature better resolution and FPS.

Upgrade details

  • Support for the ZELDA NOTES game-specific service via Nintendo Switch App*
  • Improved frame rates and resolution
  • Faster load times
  • HDR support**

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wilds and Tears of the Kingdom Switch 2 editions will launch on June 5, 2025, the same day as the Switch 2 launch.

Newly Imposed US Tariffs Impacting Vietnam and Other Countries Could Lead to Games and Hardware Price Hike

[summaraize]

Back in 2019, Nintendo made the move to manufacture consoles from China to Vietnam after the looming threats of a U.S. trade war with China. While this would help them avoid potential tariffs back then, it seems that the U.S. now has its sights on Vietnam, as new tariffs have just been announced that would impose a 46% on all products coming from the country.

This includes gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 and the PlayStation 5, as well as potentially Xbox.

Gaming May Become an Even Pricier Hobby

Switch 2 Price tariffs

As just announced, US President Trump will impose a 10% tariff globally, with some countries seeing a much more severe increase. The biggest to take the hits are Vietnam (46%), China (34%), Cambodia (49%), Japan (24%), and the EU (20%). While this will impact several goods across different industries, for gamers, we’ll likely see a price increase in both games and hardware as console manufacturers will likely pass the cost onto consumers.

Unfortunately, this does mean it may impact console makers such as Nintendo and PlayStation, both of whom mass-produce consoles out of Vietnam. We’re unsure whether Xbox still makes a majority of its consoles out of the country, though all three console makers have ties to Foxconn, the main manufacturer of these hardware and components. It was only last year that Foxconn set up new facilities to mass-produce PlayStation consoles.

This has led to many people within the video game community cautious of what most think will be a significant price hike on gaming goods.

On the PC gaming side, Nvidia, AMD, and Intel have some sort of presence in the country, as well as several partners and board makers. We’re unsure if a majority of their manufacturing is done there, though given how much they operate from there and other affected tariff-impacted countries, we’d say it’s safe to assume prices will go up. Not like they haven’t already as a response to previous tariffs.

With console prices already increasing over the last few years and Switch 2 running up at a high cost of $449, it’s hard to imagine just how much worse prices will get. Though for PC gamers who have been paying attention to GPU prices over the last months, with MSRP essentially disappearing and partners hiking up the prices of certain cards by over 50%, the news of potential price increases is one they probably aren’t too surprised by.

All we can say is don’t be surprised when you start seeing the price of things jump, including items not even affected by the tariffs. What is a somewhat affordable hobby may soon become rather expensive, especially with hints that Nintendo is already looking to increase the MSRP of games to over $80.

Donkey Kong Has a New 3D Adventure on the Switch 2

[summaraize]

Donkey Kong is getting a brand-new 3D adventure, the first in decades, as Nintendo has revealed Donkey Kong Bananza for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Set to arrive this July, here’s your first look at Donkey Kong’s newest adventure where players can seemingly destroy the very ground you’re stepping on.

25 Years Later, and We Finally Have a New 3D Donkey Kong

Can you believe it’s been 25 years since the release of Donkey Kong 64? Yeah, me neither, and there’s nothing worse than realizing how old you are. Even though I’m a much older person now, my love for Donkey Kong has not wavered, and I’m thrilled to see that he’s finally making his way back into the 3D gaming world.

The official game description from Nintendo reads, “Get ready for Donkey Kong Bananza, a brand-new 3D platforming action adventure – available exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2. Crash, bash, and climb through nearly everything in DK’s path and tear off chunks of terrain to swing around and throw in groundbreaking exploration. The more that is demolished with powerful punches, the more areas open up to discover.”

There’s not a whole lot else to say that wasn’t shown off in the trailer above, except that it will be arriving exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on July 17, 2025. The Switch 2 will be available on June 5, 2025.
