GameCube Games are Coming to Nintendo Switch Online, Exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2

[summaraize]

Nintendo is finally bringing GameCube games to its Nintendo Switch Online subscription, and its first wave is bringing some of its greatest hits, though you’ll need a Switch 2 in order to play the games.

Additionally, Nintendo is launching a GameCube Nintendo Switch 2 controller for those who want to relive the console’s glory days.

GameCube Games Are Finally Coming to Nintendo Switch Online

As revealed during today’s Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, the first initial wave of GameCube titles to arrive the same day as the Switch 2 launch are:

  • The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker
  • Soulcalibur 2
  • F-Zero GX

Further titles will be added at a later date, with the following ones confirmed so far:

  • Super Mario Sunshine
  • Super Mario Strikers
  • Luigi’s Mansion
  • Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance
  • Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness
  • Pokémon Colosseum
  • Chibi-Robo!

Additionally, Switch 2 owners will have the opportunity to purchase a GameCube Wireless Controller for the Switch 2. This controller will be fully compatible with GameCube games and have some Switch 2 features added to it. It will be released on the same day as Switch 2’s launch and retail for $64.99.

All I can say is that it’s about time, though sadly, you’ll need a Nintendo Switch 2 to play these. Still, I’m glad to see them get added, and I cannot wait to see what other games get added to the service. My fingers are crossed that we see Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, a remake of the original Metal Gear Solid, added to the service, as it’s one of the few Metal Gear Solid games that has yet to get a re-release of any kind.

Other than that, what GameCube game are you hoping to see eventually become available on the service?

Nintendo Is Ensuring Switch Owners Get First Crack of Pre-Ordering the Switch 2 and Not Scalpers

[summaraize]

Another day, another new hot piece of hardware that’s likely going to be scalped and sold for an insane amount of money. That’s been the case with many recent console and GPU launches, though with the Nintendo Switch 2, it looks like Nintendo is going to be leveling the playing field, as pre-orders directly from them will come with some restrictions.

Luckily, if you’ve been an active Switch player who has spent money on their shops, you’ll likely qualify for a pre-order.

Nintendo Allowing Direct Switch 2 Pre-Orders, But Only If You’ve Been Subscribed to NSO for a Certain Period of Time

Scalpers will have a lot of trouble scalping a Nintendo Switch 2 directly from Nintendo, as the company has revealed it will have strict restrictions on who can pre-order the console. This was revealed on Nintendo’s UK Shop (slightly different for North America), where they outlined the criteria of who can preorder off their storefront. They are as follows:

UK Instructions:

Nintendo Switch Online membership status

  • Has been a Nintendo Switch Online member for at least two years continuously by 31/03/2025, with an active membership on the day that the pre-order is placed. For family memberships, the person who purchased the membership will be eligible. Other people in the family membership are not eligible. Nintendo Switch Online membership status

Play time

  • Has spent a certain amount of time playing purchased/paid Nintendo Switch games, prioritising those with more playtime.
  • Sharing usage information with Nintendo.
  • Has opted in to share usage information with Nintendo to customise offers and recommendations.

Receive email messages from Nintendo

  • Has opted in to receive promotional emails and messages from Nintendo and be opted in on the day the invitation email is sent.

North America Instructions:

  • Open to Nintendo Account holders in the U.S. and Canada, who are at least 18 years old. If you are eligible, an invitation email will be sent to the email address associated with your Nintendo Account when it is your time to purchase. The invitation will be valid for 72 hours. Invitation emails will be prioritized on a first-come, first-served basis to registrants who have purchased a Nintendo Switch Online membership with a minimum of 12 months of paid membership and a minimum of 50 total gameplay hours, as of April 2, 2025. Once invitation emails have been sent to all registrants meeting the priority criteria, invitations will be sent to remaining eligible registrants on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Invitations are non-transferable and will be sent to the email address associated with the Nintendo Account that registered interest in purchasing Nintendo Switch 2. Optional accessories will be available to purchase alongside your system. For system and each accessory, limit one purchase per eligible Nintendo Account during the invitation period.

Seeing that it’s unlikely that a scalper has an active NSO for more than one to two years depending on the region, let alone in the bulk, and meets the rest of the criteria, we say there’s a good chance that many legit buyers will be able to get their hands on the console fairly.

Unfortunately, that doesn’t extend to other retailers such as Best Buy, Amazon, GameStop, Walmart, etc.. Still, it is a good move by the company, one we wished PlayStation had applied for when they started pre-orders for their 30th-anniversary consoles.

Hopefully these moves by Nintendo makes it so that actual fans get the console rather than someone who just wants to profit from it.

FromSoftware Announces Switch 2 Exclusive Multiplayer Game “The Duskbloods”

[summaraize]

Well, FromSoftware has had quite a busy last few years, with the studio releasing Elden Ring, then its follow-up expansion, and soon a new Elden Ring multiplayer game. They’ve got a lot on their plate, yet it seems they aren’t slowing down, as they’ve just revealed an entirely new IP exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Welcome to The Duskbloods, a new PvPvE multiplayer Souls-like game revealed as the capper to the Nintendo Switch 2 unveiling event.

The Duskbloods Arrives in 2026, Exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Getting some Bloodborne vibe off of this one, though if you’re expecting a traditional souls-like experience, you may be disappointed to learn that this seems to be more along the lines of Elden Ring Nightreign. FromSoftware confirmed via press release that the title would be an online multiplayer, focusing on a PvPvE setting.

Here’s the info from the press release: ”

The Duskbloods: The moontears will flow for one and one alone in The Duskbloods, a brand-new multiplayer** title from the creators of DARK SOULS and ELDEN RING, FromSoftware. Available exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, The Duskbloods launches next year. Read more in our upcoming developer diary series, Creator’s Voice, with the game’s director Hidetaka Miyazaki, coming on April 4th.”

There’s not much else beyond that, and for those hoping that it would be released this year, well, you’ll have to wait; it’s slated for 2026.

In the meantime, though, FromSoftware fans can look forward to Elden Ring Nightreign (impressions here), which arrives on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on May 30, 2025.

Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 3 Patch Getting Stuck With Slow Speeds on Xbox and PC

[summaraize]

Today, Activision rolled out a major new patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone, that brings the Season 3 content and feature additions. While some might be playing the game with the patched installed already, a good number of players on Xbox and PC can’t, as their download either gets stuck or is downloading super slow.

If you’re one of the many people that are in the process of updating Black Ops 6 and Warzone, and you’re seeing your download stall. It’s not just you.

Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 3 Patch Stuck Issue Plaguing Xbox, PC Players on April 2

Multiple players on the game’s subreddit have echoed the same issues wherein their download is super slow or just stops for some unknown reason.

update stuck at around 50% or incredibly slow on steam
byu/masamacyclone inblackops6

S3 Update completely broken XSX
byu/New-Memory8802 inblackops6

This is so stupid (Description Context)
byu/usernameannonomous inblackops6

There are more of that, but you get the gist. As far as we’re aware, Xbox Live servers are not down and is operating normally, so this problem is exclusive to Black Ops 6 players.

Black Ops 6 Season 3 Download Not Working on Xbox Possible Fix

There is one potential (might not work for everyone) fix. This issue might be happening due to disk limitation issues, without the console alerting gamers about it. The patch download is at a staggering 400GB on Xbox consoles, which I assume not a lot of players have that much free space.

Gamers can try checking their game library, deleting Modern Warfare 2 or even Modern Warfare 3 (since this will automatically download and install as part of Black Ops 6 on Game Pass). Once deleted, your download and install should proceed normally, as some have reported this works.

So far, Activision’s Call of Duty team has not acknowledged the patch download issues. Although that might change within the day.

What makes this problem all the more annoyhing for Xbox gamers is, Call of Duty and Activision is now owned by Microsoft, which owns Xbox. But it is, what it is.

If Activsion issues an announcement or official fix, we’ll add it to the article.

Undisputed Patch 1.003 Adds Klitschko DLC, Boxer Balance Adjustments

[summaraize]

Steel City Interactive has dropped Undisputed patch 1.003 on consoles and PC, and this ushers in The Iron & Steel DLC, which introduces the Klitschko brothers to the game.

Those who don’t want to spend a cent, you’ll also be getting new venues, and a good chunk of gameplay improvements all for free. Also of note, this patch also adjusts the boxers’ stats, which means there should be a new top dog in the game.

Undisputed’s New Update Adds New Fighters and Loads of Improvements

DLC Content:

  • IBF World Cruiserweight champion Jai Opetaia (27-0), bringing his southpaw speed and precision.
  • Cult favourite and “King of the 4 Rounders” Eric “Butterbean” Esch, the 400-pound knockout specialist with 77 career wins.
  • Four-division world champion and celebrated winner of 46 consecutive fights Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, renowned for his combination punching.
  • Two-division world champion and technical virtuoso Juan Francisco “El Gallo” Estrada, famous for his counter-punching brilliance and ring IQ.
  • Charismatic two-time heavyweight champion Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs with his signature “Let’s go champ!” persona.

Highlights of the Patch:

  • Refined punch tracking, block effectiveness and positional mechanics.
  • PS Pro support with enhanced lighting.
  • An enhanced Career Mode where players can now select the boxers they want to face on the journey to becoming the undisputed champion.
  • Career fight customisation gives players the chance to select their fighter’s attire when taking on a prize fighter, giving extra flair and style for the main event.
  • Online instant replay where players can rewatch a highlight reel of the KO featuring three different cinematic angles.
  • New venues – Riyadh Season Gym, The Observatory, and Café Royale.

Patch Notes:

New Venues

  • Added Café Royal. This licensed venue is situated in the heart of London and steeped in boxing heritage.
  • Added Riyadh Season Gym. Further immerse yourself in this dominant city of boxing by fighting in this new licensed venue.
  • Added The Observatory. A brand new, high-tech venue with a heavy sci-fi feel.

Gameplay Changes

  • Made some minor adjustments to how punch targeting and tracking work. We’re currently playtesting a more impactful improvement right now and if the playtesting goes well, we will ship these changes to everyone in another update as soon as we can.
  • We’ve rebalanced block health. The longer you continuously hold your block, the more damage your block health will take. Continuously holding your block will also now slow down your ability to block again after throwing a punch by reducing the animation speed, allowing your opponent to more easily work around your block if you’re overusing it.
  • Temporarily removed flash knockouts from the game due to an issue that caused the game to lock. Flash knockdowns remain unimpacted.

Career Mode

  • Introduced Career Custom Roster – you are now in control of which of your custom characters or licensed fighters you want in your career mode playthrough, allowing you to further tailor your experience and fully immerse yourself.
  • Added fighter customization in career mode, so you are now able to customize your fighter’s attire.
  • Licensed boxers now age in line with their real-life birthday dates.

General Changes

  • Undisputed is now compliant with PlayStation 5 Pro. Players on the PlayStation 5 Pro can expect revamped lighting and improved gameplay graphics.
  • Enabled instant replays for online game modes. Both players must have replays enabled for them to be active.
  • Improved audio quality for players using sound bars and headphones.
  • Introduced a Red Carpeting System, which guides players to new content, like new fighter outfits or player cards, through the menus.
  • Added 2 new hairstyles to character creator.
  • Updated old school boxers’ shoes, to be more in line with how they looked in real life.
  • Homepage stats screen has now been revamped to track even more areas of the game – such as career. It now includes things like your fighter’s overall stats, which boxer and game mode are your most played, etc.
  • Removed the overall rating cap on created characters.

Bug Fixes

  • Resolved an issue where Round 8 wouldn’t always score correctly in online fights.
  • Fixed online score syncing to ensure accurate results.
  • Corrected a bug where draws interrupted win streaks in career placement matches.
  • More fixes around disconnects not giving correct wins/losses to players.
  • Fixed a bug that allowed rapid succession of opposite side.
  • Fixed an issue where players could still push opponents while gassed.
  • Fixed an issue where softlock in online fights would occur, caused by abrupt stoppages due to cuts or bruising.
  • Fixed a bug causing players to receive inflated SP after online ranked fights.
  • Fixed the softlock in online fights if a player disconnected during intro cutscenes.
  • Fixed an issue preventing the Undisputed achievement/trophy from unlocking correctly.

Nintendo Announces Cheaper Switch 2 Model for Japan With Restrictions to Stop Foreign Buyers

[summaraize]

Nintendo has unveiled details about the pricing and launch date of its new Nintendo Switch 2, with a notable pricing strategy for Japan. The global price for the Switch 2 will be $449, but Japan will receive a cheaper model priced at 49,980 yen ($330). This version of the console will be available only in Japan and will have some important restrictions that will prevent people from other countries from snagging the cheaper model.

The Japanese model of the Nintendo Switch 2 will be region-locked, meaning it will only support Japanese language settings and games available in the region.

Nintendo Implements Region Lock to Stop Foreign Resellers

Switch 2 Japan Region Lock

As spotted by Genki_JPN on X, users will only be able to link a Nintendo account that is set to Japan. Nintendo added this feature to stop foreign resellers, who take advantage of the weaker yen to buy consoles cheaply in Japan and then sell them for a higher price in other countries.

This domestic-only version of the Switch 2 offers a more affordable entry point for Japanese consumers. However, there will also be a more expensive model priced at 69,980 yen ($470), which will be available for purchase from the Japanese My Nintendo Store and will include multiple languages support.

The region lock on the Japanese Switch 2 is meant to stop reselling and keep prices from going up in other countries. While this pricing plan helps Nintendo stay strong in the Japanese market, most Japanese buyers probably won’t mind the region lock, since they are not as worried about having a console with multiple languages.

Additionally, Trump tariffs may have contributed to the price increase, and the region lock prevents international buyers from exploiting Japan’s lower prices.

Dead by Daylight Tokyo Ghoul Update Patch Notes via Update 3.39

Content

New Killer – The Ghoul

Killer Power ONE – EYED TERROR

SPECIAL ABILITY: Kagune Leap

Use the Power button to charge and launch the Kagune, tentacles that attach to any vertical surface within range and quickly pull The Ghoul forward.

After completing a leap, The Ghoul has a window to perform a second consecutive Kagune Leap or put Kagune Leap into cooldown by using the Active Ability button.

Kagune Leap enters cooldown once The Ghoul has consumed their leaps, if they leap over a vault or downed pallet, or if the Kagune grabs and leaps at a Survivor.

If The Ghoul’s second consecutive leap targets a Survivor, they will perform a grab-attack. Grab-attacks damage Survivors if they are healthy; inflict Deep Wounds; and leave a Kagune Mark.

Performing a grab-attack also triggers Enraged Mode.

SPECIAL ABILITY: Enraged Mode

While Enraged, The Ghoul can perform up to three consecutive Kagune Leaps and can leap over vaults more quickly if they launch their Kagune at a Survivor.

Enraged Mode remains active while there are Survivors afflicted with Kagune Mark. Marked Survivors will lose their mark if they are fully mended, or if they are downed.

The Ghoul cannot grab-attack marked Survivors.

Once no marked Survivors remain, a Countdown begins. When the Countdown depletes, Enraged Mode ends. A perfectly timed grab-attack – tapping the attack button when the attack icon is displayed – will add extra time to the Countdown. The Countdown is paused while carrying Survivors.

    • The effects last until the hex totem is cleansed.

Ranked Play

Ranked Play continues in Season 03 with new rewards to claim and new Competitive Integrity systems to keep Ranked Play fair for all competitors.

New Ranked Play Systems

  • Retroactive SR Adjustments
    • To help reverse the impact cheaters have on the Ranked Play SR system, retroactive SR adjustments will be made starting in Season 03.
      • When a Ranked Play cheater is banned, anyone they’ve recently beaten will receive a SR refund for those matches.
      • Players who we detect playing with cheaters may have SR for those wins taken away.
  • Rejoin Matches in Progress (In-Season)
    • Starting later in Season 03, players will be able to rejoin Ranked matches if they disconnect.
    • Players will have five minutes to rejoin the match in progress and avoid quit penalties and suspensions. Teammates will receive a reduced SR Loss if a matchmade teammate rejoins and they lose the match.

Season 03 Rank Setback

  • Competitors who are continuing their conquest in Ranked Play from Season 02 will notice that their accounts may have been set back as outlined in previous notes.
    • Every new Season, your Rank may be rolled back based on where you ended the previous season, as follows:
      • Bronze or Silver Rank players are not impacted by the Seasonal setback and will be able to pick up where they ended Season 02 with no SR deduction.
      • Gold or Platinum Rank players will start Season 03 in Tier I of Gold or Platinum respectively.
      • Diamond Rank and above players will start the Season 03 at Diamond I.

Demotion Protection

  • Demotion Protection will be active for everyone’s first 3 Ranked Play losses in Season 03, and players can expect 1 free loss per day via Daily Loss Forgiveness like in Season 02.

Updated Ranked Play Unlock Requirements

  • Competitors that are returning after an extended period of inactivity may need to Win 10 Matches to requalify for Ranked Play in Season 03.
  • New Ranked Play competitors will need to win 50 match-made multiplayer matches like previous seasons.

New Weapons (Multiplayer & Zombies)

  • Kilo 141 – Assault Rifle (Call of Duty: Warzone Login Reward)
    • Fully automatic assault rifle with an ergonomic design that improves handling, and a steady fire rate helps stay on target.
    • The Kilo 141 is back and ready to tear it up across Multiplayer and Call of Duty: Warzone. The weapon’s smooth handling, manageable recoil, and steady fire rate give it room to shine in a variety of combat situations, leaving no doubt as to why the Kilo 141 was a favorite in Verdansk. Now that the location is back, it’s time to relive the glory days with this hard-hitting Primary Weapon.
    • Players will automatically unlock the Kilo 141 for use in Black Ops 6 and Call of Duty: Warzone after logging in to Call of Duty: Warzone at the launch of Season 03.
  • CR-56 – Assault Rifle (Battle Pass)
    • This lightweight 7.62 x 39mm full-auto assault rifle is compact and powerful. Built exclusively for military use, the standard issue rifle is deadly at mid-range combat and easily configured for a variety of assault tactics.
    • Combining high-damage hits with a fast fire rate and good handling, the CR-56 AMAX is the perfect mid-range weapon for downing targets fast. Eliminate enemies in three to four shots up to 25 meters out, leaving plenty left over to chew through equipped armor. Quick reloads get you back into the action fast, a helpful trait no matter how you choose to customize the weapon via Gunsmith.
  • HDR – Sniper Rifle (Battle Pass)
    • Anti-material bolt action sniper rifle chambered in 12.7 x 108mm ammunition. Bullets have a lower muzzle velocity but remain devastating even at very long ranges.
    • Veterans of Verdansk know the power of the HDR and the havoc a sniper can inflict with it when stationed in high vantage points like the infamous Airport Control Tower. The weapon’s long reach and heavy damage make it a favorite of sharpshooters, its distinctive firing sound sending squads running. Add the Reinforced Barrel attachment to further extend your damage range and bullet velocity, and don’t forget to hold your breath for difficult shots.
  • Kali Sticks – Melee (Event Reward)
    • Two-hit kill. Extremely fast attack speed. Short range.
    • The infamous Kali Sticks return, dealing out damage with rapid swings that’ll take down your target in a flash. Smack them with fast follow-up hits using the weapon’s light attack or take them out in a more dramatic fashion by unleashing the heavy attack. Use Kali Sticks in Multiplayer with the new Close Shave Perk to deploy a quick whack against enemies without having to manually swap to your Dedicated Melee slot first.
  • Nail Gun – Special (In-Season)
    • Full-auto Nail Gun. High damage at close range with fast handling speeds and very low muzzle velocity.
    • Stick it to them with this handy tool configured with a magazine of 15 nails that fires at full auto. The damage drops off quickly after 25 meters and performs best up close. The Nail Gun’s low muzzle velocity can make it difficult to land shots against fast moving targets, so get them in your sights and unload before they know what hit them. This armament is a reward earned during the Black Ops Tribute Event.

New Attachments

  • Monolithic Suppressor (Battle Pass)
    • Monolithic Core provides superior sound suppression and increased range. Moderate weight increase affects agility.
    • Available for Assault Rifles (except AS VAL), SMGs, Shotguns, LMGs, Marksman Rifles, Sniper Rifles, and Pistols.
  • SWAT 5.56 Grau Conversion (Battle Pass)
    • Convert the SWAT 5.56 into a fully automatic weapon with lower damage and range but improved accuracy, mobility, and handling. Equips a new default Barrel and Magazine and unlocks an exclusive 50-round extended Magazine. Blocks Barrel attachments.
  • C9 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags (In-Season)
    • Conversion kit to use higher caliber 10mm Auto ammunition for increased stopping power. Though the conversion results in some increased recoil and a slightly lower fire rate, the extra damage, range, and velocity make this attachment a worthy consideration when approaching enemies on bigger maps.

New Features

  • Camo Hub
    • The Camo HUB is planned to be added shortly after launch to provide players with a wealth of Camo information and assist all in their quest for Dark Matter and Nebula. Available via the Barracks > Challenges Menu, the Camo HUB gives players all the Camo information they need in a single location:
      • View all available Weapons by Weapon Class, with each Weapon sorted by furthest Camo progress
      • View the Next Camo Challenge for each Weapon
      • View the 2 available Special Camos for each Weapon
      • View the next unearned Camo Mastery Calling Card reward
      • Track/Untrack a Weapon’s Next Camo
      • Select a Weapon to go to that Weapon’s full Camo screen
      • “Tracked & Near Complete” tab now serves as the new home for the player’s manually tracked or automatically surfaced near complete Camo Challenges

New Operators

  • R0-Z3 (BlackCell, Crimson One, Launch)
    • R0-Z3 returns to claim her status as a top BlackCell operative working in Verdansk. You know the drill. No witnesses.
  • Hudson (Battle Pass, Rogue Black Ops, Launch)
    • Special Agent Jason Hudson, CIA operative, handler to Alex Mason, and KIA during Operation False Profit.
  • Mace (Battle Pass, Crimson One, Launch)
    • The Special Forces Army Ranger turned PMC returns, ready to inflict serious damage on anyone who thinks they can best him in Verdansk.
  • John Black Ops (Event Reward for Black Ops 6 owners, In-Season)
    • A mysterious Operator clad in a gray jump suit, sporting tactical goggles and helmet. Anonymous. Unassuming. Deadly.

New Events

  • Black Ops Tribute (In-Season)
    • Don’t miss out on this legendary tribute to Black Ops in an event stuffed with rewards that honor the history of the series.
    • Earn XP in any mode to progress the Event and earn Black Ops themed rewards. Black Ops 6 owners will receive additional rewards only available to use in Black Ops 6.
    • Earn cosmetic content and functional equipment, including the Nail Gun (Special Weapon), C9 10mm Auto 30-Round Mags (Attachment), Thermite (Lethal in Call of Duty: Warzone), Death Machine (Scorestreak in MP/Support in Zombies), Close Shave (MP Perk), an Emote, GobbleGums, and the fan-requested Operator, “John Black Ops”.

RICOCHET Anti-Cheat

This season, the focus remains on our commitment to taking down cheat makers, banning bad actors, and ensuring a great player experience. Our roadmap for anti-cheat extends beyond this season, but in the latest Progress Report we’ll focus on recent results and security-focused updates coming in Season 03.

Console Cross-Play Settings

In Season 03, we’re giving console players more granular options by separating the MP Ranked Play and Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Play settings and adding a new Multiplayer-only setting for Quickplay, Featured, and Party Games matches.

Each of these three settings (Multiplayer Ranked Play, Call of Duty: Warzone Ranked Play, and Multiplayer Unranked) will include the following options:

  • On: Enables matchmaking with all gaming platforms when playing in the selected playlists.
  • On (Consoles Only): Enables matchmaking only with other consoles when playing in selected playlists.
    • May negatively impact matchmaking queue times.
  • Off: Restricts matchmaking to your current gaming platform only in selected playlists.
    • Will negatively impact matchmaking queue times.

  • Addressed an issue where Finishing Move audio would continue to play after scrolling to a new tier in the Battle Pass.

Challenges

  • BlackCell
    • BlackCell Daily Challenge
      • BlackCell owners can now complete an additional Daily Challenge in Multiplayer, Zombies, and Call of Duty: Warzone for an added 7,500 XP each. The BlackCell Daily Challenge counts toward the 3 challenges needed to earn the Daily Challenge Bonus XP.

    • Rules
      • The Cranked Timer starts when the first enemy is eliminated. The timer is shared across the whole team and any kill from any team member fills it.
        • The timer starts at 30 seconds. Each enemy eliminated replenishes the timer to its current maximum, and every round survived causes the maximum timer to be reduced by 1 second.
          • Essence earned by eliminating zombies is increased compared to Standard/Directed Mode
          • The Time Stopper Field Upgrade replaces your loadout’s Field Upgrade.
          • Main Quests and Easter Eggs are enabled.
    • Abilities

Wonder Weapons

  • Ray Gun Mark II (and Variants)
    • Drop multiple zombies at once with the upgraded and modestly unstable Ray Gun Mark II. Recovered from the Dark Aether by Project Janus, this powerful laser armament delivers three-round bursts of energy, can be Pack-a-Punched, and doubles as a bludgeoning instrument if you’re running low on ammunition.
    • Then there’s the three new variants.
      • Provided you’ve [[REDACTED]], you can experiment with an additional three variants of the Ray Gun Mark II:
        • Ray Gun Mark II-W: Offering similar bullet patterns to a submachine gun, this also has a random chance to ignite enemies.
        • Ray Gun Mark II-P: Shooting ammunition like a shotgun, with a chance to spawn a sigil with the ability to grant invulnerability to the player standing on it for a limited time.
        • Ray Gun Mark II-R: Dropping zombies with a Marksman Rifle-like discharge, expect a chance to spread a plague infection that can inflict area-of-effect damage.
  • Wunderwaffe DG-2
    • Capable of striking down hordes with chain-lightning blasts, this has the bonus effect of stunning crowds of zombies, usually resulting in additional, and eventually terminal damage.
  • Ray Gun
    • Addressed an issue where the Ray Gun would not automatically reload when emptying magazine ammo.

Perk-A-Colas

  • Double Tap (New)
    • The classic rapid-fire Perk returns for the first time in nearly a decade, dramatically increasing your weapon’s fire rate to chew through enemy hordes in record time. Research the iconic Perk for powerful enhancements like an even faster fire rate and the chance to inflict double damage.

      • Double Impact

      • Double Standard
        • All non-critical shots do double damage. Only applies to normal bullet weapons.
    • Minor
      • Double Time
        • Increases fire rate bonus.
      • Double or Nothing
        • Weapons have a chance to do double damage but also have a chance to do zero damage.

Nintendo Switch 2 Will Have Some Games That Cost More Than PS5, Xbox Series X|S Titles

[summaraize]

With today’s reveal of the Nintendo Switch 2, the company managed to impress with the system’s new features, the games incoming and more.

However, there is one dark cloud hovering about the upcoming console that Nintendo (understandably) didn’t reveal at the event, and it’s how much the console’s games will cost.

Nintendo Switch 2 Game Prices Are Higher Than Expected

While we’re used to games for the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S to cost around $69.99 for AAA titles (and even lower for AA games), Nintendo is leaning the other way, as some games will cost more than that. One example is Mario Kart World, which has a retail price of $79.99 — yes,$10 more than the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S games.

This is something players can check themselves by checking the Mario Kart World page where you’ll see the following:

What’s odd here is, it’s not every first-party game that costs more, as Donkey Kong: Bananza, which is also a first-party title, is priced at the expected $70.

With the game’s price, it’s now even cheaper to just buy the Nintendo Switch 2 bundle that includes a digital copy of the Mario Kart World.

No word yet if third-party companies will follow suit, though we’d be very surprised if they did. As it stands now, it’s only Mario Kart World that’s priced at a higher tier, and we’ve reached out to Nintendo to get further clarification on this.

Could this new price point be somehow affected by US President Trump’s tariff sanctions against other countries? Perhaps it’s due to manufacturing costs since Nintendo games are housed in cartridges instead of discs?

If this is indeed the future we’re headed into, don’t be surprised to see AAA games like Grand Theft Auto 6 be sold for $100, as some analysts expect it might.

Once Nintendo responds to our inquiry, we’ll update the article with the info.

Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date, Price, and Full Specs Unveiled

[summaraize]

The wait is finally over. During the latest Nintendo Direct, it was officially announced that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released on June 5. The console will launch alongside a set of games that will be available right from the start.

One of the most noticeable changes is the new 7.9-inch screen, which is larger than the original Switch’s 6.2-inch display. This screen not only offers more space but also provides high-definition visuals with much more detail and clarity. Players will enjoy smoother gameplay thanks to support for up to 120 frames per second.

Nintendo Switch 2 Launches June 5 with Major Upgrades and New Features

Switch 2

Here’s the list of Switch 2 specs and features:

  • A 7.9-inch screen, up from 6.2 inches in the original Switch
  • High-definition visuals
  • Up to 120 frames per second for smoother gameplay
  • LCD screen with strong colors and HDR support
  • Joy-Con 2 controllers that attach magnetically and are more secure; to remove them, you press a button
  • Larger SL and SR buttons and bigger analog sticks
  • A mouse mode using Joy-Con 2 in compatible games
  • Better speakers
  • A built-in microphone for voice chat
  • 3D audio
  • A larger and stronger stand to support the console at various angles
  • Two USB-C ports
  • 256 GB of storage
  • A new dock that supports 4K output and HDR for TV mode

The screen is an LCD type with vibrant colors and includes HDR support, which enhances brightness and contrast for a more realistic image. A new version of the Joy-Con controllers, known as Joy-Con 2, now attaches magnetically to the console. These new controllers are designed to stay firmly in place, and they can be released by pressing a button. The SL and SR buttons on the Joy-Cons are now larger, making them easier to use, and the analog sticks are also bigger for better control.

One interesting addition is a mouse mode that can be used in supported games, allowing players to interact differently. Sound quality has also improved with better speakers, and the console now includes a built-in microphone for voice chat during gameplay. There’s also 3D audio, which gives a more immersive sound experience by making it feel like noises are coming from different directions.

The new Switch 2 also includes a stronger and bigger stand, which can support the console at various angles. It comes with two USB-C ports, one at the top and one at the bottom, providing more options for charging and connecting devices. The system offers 256 GB of internal storage, giving players a lot more space for games and apps.

Another major upgrade is the new docking station, which now supports 4K resolution and HDR when connected to a TV. This allows games to be played in very high quality on larger screens. The cooling system has also been improved, with a more efficient fan to keep the console from overheating. Best of all, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be fully compatible with all existing Nintendo Switch games, so original Switch players won’t lose access to their current library.

As for the price, Nintendo has now confirmed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will cost $449.99. It’s a bit more expensive than the previous model, but that makes sense considering all the new features and improvements it comes with.

Hell Let Loose New Update 1.042 Brings Tobruk Map, Dynamic Sandstorms, and Flamethrower Buffs via Patch 17

[summaraize]

The latest update for Hell Let Loose, version 1.042, is now live across all platforms, bringing exciting new content, including the release of the Tobruk map, dynamic sandstorms, and several quality of life improvements.

The new map, Tobruk, takes players to the deserts of North Africa, where close-quarters city fights meet wide-open sand dunes. You’ll be battling it out above ground and even in underground tunnels known as the “Desert Rat Caves.” With several game modes and unpredictable sandstorms that can suddenly roll in, Tobruk keeps every match feeling fresh and intense.

Hell Let Loose Update 17 Patch Notes for April 2:

New Map – Tobruk

Watch the Tobruk Deep-Dive Video Overview:

Map Rationale

When planning what kind of thematic map we wanted to create, we referred to the existing maps that are currently available to players to help us decide. As a team, we decided that this map could be:

  • A desert map that is different to El Alamein yet feels cohesive in nature
  • An opportunity to provide players with new fighting experiences including: caves, creeks, accessible rooftops and the overall blend of urban and rural areas
  • A map that incorporates dense urban areas but does not restrict vehicles/armour
  • A map that has diverse Capture Point themes that contrast each other yet remain thematically cohesive overall[/list]The desert nature of Tobruk has given us the freedom to experiment with the natural topography, allowing us to create interesting natural areas unique to this map. We had concerns about the open flat plains that the desert provides, however, we addressed this issue by utilising natural rock formations and sand dunes which provided cover but retained the authenticity of a believable desert landscape.

Weather System

The technical art team has collaborated closely with the programming team to improve the weather system originally developed for Elsenborn Ridge and Purple Heart Lane. This updated system introduces greater flexibility and adds an extra layer of randomness to the weather patterns. In the previous version, the weather would cycle through various intensities at predictable intervals (e.g. every 2 to 5 minutes), always ending in an extreme setting before cycling back down. The new system alters this behaviour, making it less predictable when an extreme weather event will occur. As with the original system the transitions have a time range and cool down time range, however, from here we can breakdown each of the scenarios to give them separate weighting. We can control how long it will stay at medium compared to heavy or extreme, we can control the maximum amount of occurrences for each scenario. This also means that when it reaches a heavy scenario it can sometimes move back to mild or medium rather than always going to extreme.

As part of our plan to expand the dynamic weather system, we are now able to introduce sandstorms to Tobruk. The sandstorm features four distinct modes, beginning with a light flurry of dust and sand particles and escalating to a full-blown sandstorm. The extreme setting reduces visibility, creating intense dust clouds and particles around the player. These moments offer players an additional layer of dynamic cover, and with the updated system, the occurrence and duration of these events are now less predictable.

Due to the nature of the sand dust and cloud particles the technical art team needed to update how the occlusion system worked. Traditionally the system was handled this way:

  • Capture a world aligned top down heightmap
  • Particles then sample the heightmap using their world position
  • If the particle’s own height is lower than the sampled heightmap, that particle is occluded/hidden

With the updated method we do a small ray-march for each pixel in the direction of its motion. We do this to check the distance that it will get occluded in the future and we use that distance to start reducing the opacity before it reaches the occlusion boundary.

DLC

Deutsche Afrika Korps

Deutsches Afrikakorps: At the helm of the Afrikakorps, command directed sweeping offensives across North Africa. With Tobruk in their sights in June 1942, they launched a coordinated assault to seize the key port and strengthen Axis control.

21. Panzerdivision: As one of the Afrikakorps’ primary armored divisions, the 21st Panzer Division advanced toward Tobruk in June 1942. With tanks at the forefront, they aimed to smash through British defenses and secure the key stronghold.

90. Leichte Afrika Division: The 90th Light Afrika Division operated across North Africa, specializing in fast, flexible warfare. In June 1942, they advanced on Tobruk, tasked with breaking through its defenses and seizing the vital port for the Axis.

British Eighth Army

Eighth Army: Eighth Army Command oversaw pivotal battles throughout the North African Campaign. After the defeat at Gazala, miscommunication led to the Tobruk garrison failing to evacuate in time. This resulted in the formation of an ad hoc defensive force tasked with preventing Axis forces from capturing the port.

Cameron Highlanders: The Cameron Highlanders saw action across North Africa, enduring the hardships of desert warfare. In June 1942, they braced for the Axis assault on Tobruk, ready to defend the strategic port against the advancing forces.

1st Armoured Division: The 1st Armoured Division took part in some of the largest armored battles in the Western Desert Campaign. After defeat at Gazala they retreated East, with elements breaking off during the disarray to resupply at Tobruk.

Long Range Desert Group

LRDG: The eyes of the British Eighth Army in North Africa, the Long Range Desert Group tracked Axis movements deep behind enemy lines. This unit supplied vital intelligence to Allied forces, helping to turn the tide of the Western Desert Campaign.

And that’s all for patch 17. It’s a pretty big update with some awesome additions like the flamethrower buff and the new Tobruk map. The dynamic sandstorms are definitely a cool touch, and the XP for pings/markers is a nice way to reward teamwork.

Expect more updates for Hell Let Loose to be rolled out throughout the year, and once one is out, we’ll have it up on MP1st.

Anonymous. Unassuming. Deadly.

    • Earn XP in any mode to progress the Event and earn Black Ops themed rewards. Black Ops 6 owners will receive additional rewards only available to use in Black Ops 6.

    • Directed Mode
      • Addressed an issue that prevented the Round Cap from updating properly during the Liberty Falls Pack-a-Punch quest.
  • The Tomb
    • Addressed an issue where rarely the monocle wouldn’t spawn at the Shock Mimic’s location when killed for the Wonder Weapon Quest.

    • Addressed an issue where the Max Ammo after a special round would spawn far away from the player if they were in the Roma Mausoleum.

Modes

  • Team Cranked (Launch Window)
    • Abilities

          • 15,000 XP per map, for a total of 75,000 XP across all maps.

    • Double Tap is available in Shattered Veil along with the other previously accessible Zombies Perks. Note that some of these Perk-a-Colas are only available via the Der Wunderfizz machine.

      • Double Impact
        • Double hits on the same target in quick succession deal more damage.

Valorant New Patch 1.000.035 Brings Agent Updates and Fixes

[summaraize]

A new Valorant update (1.000.035) is now live, and it’s a pretty big one as it brings a new wave of fixes and performance improvements, along with some agent changes.

Here’s everything, including today’s Valorant update.

Lots of Kay/O Changes in Today’s Valorant Update

Valorant New Update 1.000.035

ALL PLATFORMS

AGENT UPDATES

  • KAY/O
    • While we love that KAY/O has an engaging path to mastery, we consistently see that there is a large gap between his skill ceiling and skill floor and that gap hasn’t really improved over time. We see from both player feedback and internal statistics that his flash is the most difficult flash to coordinate with on the roster.
    • We think we can make KAY/O’s overhand flash more flexible for mid-range scenarios to better match our other flashes.
      • These sets of changes should continue to preserve his high skill ceiling on those perfectly tossed pop flashes you have been practicing.
    • We’re also reducing his resurrection duration on his ultimate to reinforce the potential for teamplay to pick up an ally KAY/O.
    • FLASH/DRIVE
      • Upon bouncing, flashes will now start a 0.8 second windup and then pop.
        • This windup has unique audio and visuals when triggered.
        • The bounce windup will not be triggered if it is already less than 0.8 seconds from popping, so it won’t increase the total max time from throw to pop.
      • Underhand maximum flash duration 1.25s >>> 1.5s
      • Increase VO callout range of KAY/O’s “flashing” voice line 20m >>> 50m
      • Unequip time 0.85s >>> 0.6s
      • A minimap indicator has been added to the flash for teammates only.
    • NULL/cmd
      • Ally resurrection time 3s >>> 1.5s
  • Yoru
    • Fakeout is providing a bit too much return on investment at the 100 credit cost.
    • Fakeout
      • Cost increase 100 >>> 200 credits
  • Vyse
    • While we’re happy that Vyse has found a place in the ecosystem since the buffs in patch 9.11, we’ve found the durations on her abilities to be excessive in a world where her Razorvines are more threatening. We’re shortening the durations on her Razorvines and Shear so that Vyse will have to more actively capitalize rather than just relying on the baseline value of their stall.
    • Razorvine Duration:
      • 10s >>> 7s
    • Shear:
      • Triggered Wall Duration: 8s >>> 6s

PLAYER BEHAVIOR UPDATES

  • Improved feedback notifications so you will now more reliably see messages when a cheating report leads to a ban.

PERFORMANCE UPDATES

  • Improved CPU performance of Sunset by reducing the number of map specific objects that tick each frame.

BUG FIXES

  • Agents
    • Vyse
      • Arc Rose
        • Fixed a bug where Vyse’s Arc Rose idle animation stopped looping when she crouched.
        • Fixed a bug where destroying the Arc Rose while Vyse was recalling it did not respect the 40 second “destroyed” cooldown.
    • Raze
      • Blast Pack
        • Fixed an issue where Blast Pack could knock back Skye’s Trailblazer and Tejo’s Stealth Drone through walls.
    • Clove
      • Meddle
        • Updated tooltips to reflect our patch 10.04 changes.
    • Deadlock
      • Annihilation
        • Fixed an issue where hit-confirm sounds on Deadlock’s cocoon target were abnormally loud.
    • Breach
      • Aftershock
        • Fixed an issue where Breach would go into an incorrect idle animation pose in third-person after Aftershock was fired.
    • Sova
      • Owl Drone
        • Fixed an issue where Sova would go into an incorrect idle animation pose in third person after exiting Owl Drone.
    • KAY/O
      • Fixed a rare issue where KAY/O could appear standing up when downed during Null/CMD.
      • Fixed an issue where KAY/O’s Zero Point dagger trajectory could behave unexpectedly with packet loss.
    • Gekko
      • Fixed an issue where the “Spike Down” VO would not play when Wingman was destroyed while carrying the Spike.
    • Iso
      • Fixed an issue where swapping to Iso with Double Tap active could result in the wrong UI bar displaying for spectators or observers.
    • Tejo
      • Stealth Drone
        • Fixed a bug where Stealth Drone was not unstealthing upon jumping up prior to its scan.

PC ONLY

BUG FIXES

  • Premier
    • Fixed an issue where a player’s status in the Premier Hub roster list would sometimes overlap with the alert icon in certain queues.
    • Fixed an issue where the playoff bracket would not update dynamically during the second game of a best of three matchup.

That’s all for today’s update. Were there any changes you liked or didn’t with this update? Let us know!

Delta Force’s April Fools’ Event Is Now Live, and It Brings Cats

[summaraize]

Although April Fools’ is possibly one of the worst days when it comes to news of anything, it has allowed many online games the opportunity to have a bit of fun.

Such is the case with Team Jade’s Delta Force, as the holiday introduces brand-new in-game events, rewards, and cats.

Enlist in the Alpha Purrce

Alright, so the cat part is actually a joke, and no operators in the game have been transformed into cats, as much as we’d like to have seen that. But you know what isn’t a joke? The events and the rewards you can earn for a limited time. Starting today, Delta Force players can earn some exclusive April Fools rewards. Details on the event, including end dates and rewards, can be found below.

  • Saeed’s Arsenal: April 1-7

    • Trade in Antler Wall Decorations for some seriously rare gear! //Antler Wall Decorations is, basically, the most common loot and can be found almost everywhere.

    • Rewards: Heavy Climbing Backpack, Hurricane Tactical Chest Rig, Mask-1 Iron Helmet, Elite Vest.

  • Fools’ Rocketeer: Now live until April 3

    • Keep your eyes peeled! Special Rocketeers will be popping up on the map. Take them down to snag exclusive April Fools’ loot.

    • Rewards: Lv.6 Lucky Helmet (1 Durability), African Wood Carving (Ultimate/Red quality). Plus, you can score Armament Vouchers and the Big Eye Sticker (Rare spray paint) from these Rocketeers.

  • Login Rewards: Now live until April 3

    • What’s the deal? Just log in and grab your free stuff!

    • Rewards: ATV – Cold Steel (Green vehicle appearance), Hunk Hand Heart (Blue spray paint).

Happy hunting, operators!

Oh, and for those wondering where the console release is, Team Jade is still working on it, though it’s been delayed to an unspecified window.

Productivity Simulator “Awkward Valley” Announced, and It’s Completely Free

[summaraize]

Free? On April Fools? I must be joking! Well, I’m not, and clearly, Owlcat and The Awkward Yeti aren’t either, as they’ve revealed a surprise collaboration on a new game called “Awkward Valley”

The best part? It’s completely free to play on PC!

Definitely-Not-a-Time-Loop Daily Planner Sim

Now, if you’re wondering why Awkward Valley may look a bit familiar, it’s because it’s based on the upcoming Disco-like narrative RPG Rue Valley. Although, mechanically, both games play differently, they share a common theme around breaking time looks. That and the obvious shared location. However, despite the similarities, both collaborators insist that this definitely is not a time look game. I guess we’ll have to take their word for it, and I hope nothing out of the norm happens in Akward Valley.

As for Rue Valley, the upcoming Disco-like narrative RPG, a playable demo, was released a few months back. If you loved Disco Elysium, trust me, you’ll love what Rue Valley has to offer. At the moment, Rue Valley has no release date and is currently slated to release on PC only.

inZOI New Patch for April 1 Adjusts Lifespan Rules

[summaraize]

Krafton has released a new inZOI patch on April 1, which is a hotfix for lifespan rules adjustments. This is a minor update that will show up as a small download for players.

This title update brings inZOI to version 20250401.1483.W, which players should see in the game’s start screen.

inZOI’s New Patch for April 1 Improves Lifespan Rules

Here’s what’s new per inZOI Studio:

Fixes:

  • Adjusted lifespan rules so that only Zois in senior age groups may now pass away naturally.
    • Previously, Zois could die of natural causes at relatively early ages based on realistic probabilities. However, we also believe it’s just as important for Creators to have time to bond with their characters and fully immerse themselves in their stories.
    • With that in mind, we’ve updated the lifespan rules so you can spend more time with your Zois.
    • Please note that this change only applies to newly created Zois via New Game. It does not affect existing save files or Zois already in progress.
  • Fixed an issue where clothing remained dirty or damaged after washing under certain conditions.
  • Resolved a crash issue that could occur intermittently in certain situations.

That’s about it for this patch. The developers have shared that they are investigating EO1 and E04 errors that are occuring for players when uploading to Canvas, so expect another patch for that to be released soon.

If you’re not familiar with inZOI, it’s a new life-sim that provides an alternative to Electronic Arts’ The Sims franchise, which has dominated the genre for decades.

Overwatch 2 New Update 3.98 Slaps Normalwatch for a Limited Time

[summaraize]

It’s April Fools’ and that means tomfoolery and acting like an idiot is tolerated. The day isn’t lost on Blizzard, as the studio has released the Overwatch 2 new update 3.98 on all platforms on April 1, and this is ti bring the Normalwatch mode.

PS5, Xbox Series X|S players, you should see this as Overwatch 2 update version 1.000.062, which should be a small download for the new mode. Aside from the Normalwatch mode, heroes are once again getting googly eyes and have alternate voice lines,  which is something we get every year.

Overwatch 2 Normalwatch Hero Changes via Patch 3.98/1.000.062

What Is Normalwatch?

There is nothing to worry about here. Everything is perfectly normal. The development team has been dealing with an ant problem at their desks for the last few weeks and somehow caused these changes to take place somewhere in the game, but we think we fixed it… maybe. Don’t look at that game mode in the Arcade. We’re not sure where it came from. We’ll try to get it taken down but we’re not able to update that until April 14. Until we do, we’ve put up some challenges to distract you with and you can earn some new cosmetics including the Rainy Ducky Orisa Legendary Skin. Thanks, and you may now resume your totally normal Overwatch 2 experience.

Very Normal Hero Updates
