[summaraize]

A new season has been released for Fortnite today on all platforms and this is patch version 34.00. Fortnite update 1.000.167 brings in Chapter 6 Season 2: LAWLESS, and you can new skins, new content, and more!

Fortnite Update 1.000.167 Brings Heists and Known

Run Amok in Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 6 Season 2: LAWLESS!

Stick ‘em up! It’s time to blow that vault door wide open and make a… “withdrawal.” Ransack Fletcher Kane’s banks, take over his armored cars, even pull off a train robbery! The outlaw Midas returns with a new motley crew including wannabe hip-hop icon Big Dill, Cassidy Quinn, and more. There’s no such thing as honor among thieves in Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 6 Season 2: LAWLESS!

Rendezvous Views

The Island has been infused with an abundance of Bars 💰, and now every opportunist is out to hit the jackpot including the ruthless crime kingpin Fletcher Kane. It’s every bandit for themselves in the ultimate race to get rich!

Crime City

You’re sure to find mayhem in the seedy underbelly of Crime City, the ultimate stomping ground for all manner of corrupt and crooked misfits. Make sure to visit the Hostile Hotel, Wise Guys Bookstore, and the Launder Mat for a full criminal excursion.

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless Crime City

Outlaw Oasis

Unwind at the Outlaw Oasis, a high-end hangout luxury spa and resort where burglars typically relax and recover after a busy day of swiping huge hauls.

Shiny Shafts

You could rob one of Fletcher Kane’s banks for Bars… or you could go right to the source. His mining operation, Shiny Shafts, is a highly contested area above ground and below.

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless Shiny Shafts Outside

Lonewolf Lair

Security is tight around Fletcher’s mansion hideout, Lonewolf Lair. Anyone bold enough to challenge his growing empire is in for a fight!

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless Lonewolf Lair Outside

Public Enemy #1

The baron Fletcher Kane has set up shop as the Island’s mob don, and his paws are in every pocket in town. He’s been known only to appear at the most inopportune moments. Namely, while you’re mid-heist.

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless Fletcher Kane

Survive Fletcher’s barrage of claw attacks and you’ll be awarded with the Mythic Fletcher Kane’s Double Down Pistol and the Unstoppable Medallion. True to its name, this Medallion increases sprint speed and allows for bashing enemies while sprinting. As a reminder, Medallions make you visible on opponents’ mini-map. The more Medallions you have, the more precise the radius of your exact location — you’ve been warned!

The demon warrior Shogun X still wanders the Island, though his defeat now rewards the Super Shield Medallion, which places down a Shield Bubble Jr. when using a self-healing item like a Med Kit or Shield Potion.

Pickle on the Beat

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless Big Dill

Big Dill is the newest rap artist on the scene in Fortnite. He’s a mean, green, hot-tempered outlaw aiming to be the grittiest gherkin in the jar. Big Dill & The Brat make up the dynamic duo known as the Tasty Bois. Their new single “Runamok” just dropped on Soundcloud and is available as a Jam Track in the Battle Pass.

Big Dill is robbing banks, launching music, and creating his own shoddy currency in-game: Dill Bits (more on that in a second). Who knows what he’ll do next… maybe launch a podcast?

In Broad Daylight

Even the best heisters appreciate a how-to, so here’s what to expect in your malicious mission:

Feel the Rush

All that glitters is yours. Swimming in gold-infused water will put you under the effect of Gold Rush, which increases your speed, how fast your Pickaxe swings, and how much damage your Pickaxe does against structures. You can also gain Gold Rush by mining Gold Veins, which can be excavated with your Pickaxe for Bars.

Big Dill is ballin’ out of control thanks to his Dill Bits coin, which has become even more valuable than Bars*. Typically sealed behind lock and key in vaults around the Island, Dill Bits don’t carry over from match to match, so spend them quickly before your wallet goes to zero! But, uh, to the moon!

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless Gold Bars Dill Bits

*Big Dill has more arrest warrants than he does top 40 tracks, please do not take financial advice from a rapping pickle.

Money’s Meant to Be Spent

Spend your Dill Bits and Gold Bars at one of three Black Markets around the map, offering a selection of Mythic and Legendary items obtained in a totally legit way. Black Markets also offer Boons that’ll make your next break-in a breeze.

FNBR C6S2 BlackMarket Social 1920x1080

Kane, Train & Automobiles

Be wary, if gold moves in this town, you’d better believe Fletcher Kane knows about it. His Armored Transport convoys can be found transporting valuables around the map. Expect a fight with his henchmen if you’re planning to get inside one, but if you can wrestle control of the steering wheel, it’s yours to joyride in.

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless Armored Transport

Raiding Fletcher’s Armored Train promises a lotta loot, though it’s well-known as the most dangerous job in town! Board the train and destroy its turrets to bring it to a screeching halt, then blow open the vault car with Thermite and you’ll be rewarded handsomely. Just, be careful — you’re likely to attract the attention of other players while carrying out this “transaction.”

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless Armored Train

A Boon of Boons

A new Season means a refreshed slate of Boons! Available only from Black Markets or Rare Chests this Season, Boons persist beyond elimination in the same match (meaning you’ll keep them if you get rebooted in the same match). Collect all five!

  • Vulture Boon: Reveal where enemies are eliminated on the map for a short time.
  • Gold Rush Boon: Opening or destroying Chests grants Gold Rush.
  • Adrenaline Rush Boon: Gain the Slap effect (short-term unlimited Energy regen) upon mantling, hurdling, and wall jumping.
  • Gold Ammo Boon: Gain ammo when picking up Bars.
  • Greed Boon: Find extra Bars from eliminations and opening containers.

Fornite Battle Royale Lawless Boons

New, Nefarious Munitions

We haven’t gone over the new tools at your disposal yet. They’re great for getting into trouble… and staying there.

Items for Vault Busting

The ONLY way to crack a vault is with Thermite, a powerful explosive found stashed away around the map. After you’ve planted some, you can set off the explosion faster by damaging the vault’s weak points. The Plasma Burst Laser works great for this, as does the Rocket Drill arriving later this Season in v34.10.

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless Plasma Burst Laser Thermite Rocket Drill

Items for Mayhem

Bars can’t buy the time needed to pull a heist, but the Collateral Damage Assault Rifle and Falcon Eye Sniper might. And keep an eye out for the formidable Outlaw Shotgun which drops in v34.10.

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless Falcon Eye Sniper Collateral Damage Assault Rifle

Fancy yourself ambidextrous? Big Dill’s fave combo, the dual-wield Pump & Dump, arrives in v34.10 and will be your new close-to-mid-range best friend. Occupying a single weapon slot, hold a Pump Shotgun in one hand and an SMG in the other!

An Item for a Home Run Heist…

A favorite of ne’er-do-wells everywhere is The Kneecapper, great for giving opponents a good ol’ fashioned whack. Wielding The Kneecapper reduces the Energy cost of sprinting and increases sprint speed and jump height.

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless The Kneecapper

Items for Watching Your Back

You’ll find new utility items around the map, such as the protective Port-A-Cover and enemy-detecting Pulse Scanner. Both are tremendously useful for holding off henchmen while you grab all the Bars you can find.

Henchmen and enemy squads interrupting your heist-in-progress? The Med-Mist Grenade helps heal in a pinch, and Gold Splash grants Gold Rush and heals 20 Health (or 20 Shield if you’re at full Health already).

Fortnite Battle Royale Lawless Port A Cover Pulse Scanner Med Mist Grenade Gold Splash

Slay Frosty

Your enemies are about to be on thin ice. The cold-blooded cryomancer Sub-Zero has arrived on the Island and can be recruited to your cause! Be sure to pick up Sub-Zero’s Kombat Kit, which empowers you to ice slide into opponents and unleash a flurry of frosty fists 🧊❄️

LAWLESS Battle Pass

Get ready for a notorious new look! The LAWLESS Season brings the LAWLESS Battle Pass, offering a wealth of Outfits and accessories.

Fortnite Lawless Battle Pass

Like with the other Passes in Fortnite, unlock and claim rewards in the Battle Pass by earning XP in any Fortnite experience. The Battle Pass has both free and premium rewards. To claim the premium rewards as you earn XP, purchase the Pass for only 1,000 V-Bucks or get it through Fortnite Crew! Included as premium rewards, there are several Outfits in the Pass:

  • Cassidy Quinn: She’s all in. (Cassidy Quinn is claimable right away upon purchasing the Battle Pass!)

Fortnite Cowboy Bebop Bebop Legends Loading Screen

The BEBOP Legends Loading Screen.

What if we said you can complete these objectives as the famed bounty hunters themselves? The Spike Spiegel Outfit and Faye Valentine Outfit will be in the Fortnite Shop starting February 28 Eastern Time!

Introducing Moments

Celebrate the start and end of a match with a music Moment! In the Locker, players can now choose a Jam/Lobby Track to play when they drop out of the Battle Bus and one to play when they get a Victory Royale. Players will not hear each other’s music, even when spectating, as the chosen Track will only play locally. In split-screen, Player 1’s chosen Track will be the one that plays.

*REcOrD sCRatch* Bro the only music moment in history that mattered is when my man big Dill dropped runamok WHO cares about any other jam truck?

[summaraize]

Epic Games is set to deliver the next major content drop for Fortnite, but before they can do that, the Fortnite servers need to be pulled down for a few hours. This will affect all aspects of the game, so Battle Royale, LEGO, Rocket Racing and more won’t be functional for a few hours/

Read on for the schedule and what to to expect from v34.00, which will be available on all platforms to download once the servers are down.

Fortnite Servers Down on February 21 to Implement Patch v34.00

The downtime starts a little early for today, as matchmaking will be disabled at 2 am ET/11 pm PT/3 pm HKT, and this should last for at least 2-4 hours depending on how much time Epic needs to roll out the patch, and make sure everything is working before turning it on again.

While the official patch notes aren’t out yet, expect a slew of new cosmetics as the Mortal Kombat krew is crossing over! This is a massive patch that ushers in Chapter 6 Season 2: Lawless, so expect a lot of shenanigans and robbery to be part of the season/

Once the patch notes ar live, we’ll provide a link to it in this article to help our readers out. If anything changes regarding the downtime, we’ll make note of it within he article.

Delta Force Campaign Is So Hard, Devs Cannot Even Complete It Solo

While Delta Force launched last year as a free-to-play multiplayer game, Team Jade’s ambition for the franchise is much bigger than that, as the developers are poised to release the Black Hawk Down campaign for free this Februaary 21, 2025.

This isn’t your typical first-person military shooter campaign where you’re a super solider that can mow down everyone that gets in your way with ease. On the contrary, the game is so hard, that you’ll probably need a full squad of four in order to complete it.

Delta Force’s Black Hawk Down Campaign Is H-A-R-D

Earlier this month, Team Jade invited MP1st to try out the Delta Force campaign before it was released. Our own staff member, Paulmichael, noted how difficult the game is While the enemies are quick to go down with just a few bullets, so do you. There’s also a ton of enemies rushing at you at any given time, so it gets overwhelming.

Apparently, the enemy team have perfect vision, so if they see even a sliver of your character, they’ll pull that trigger. Even if they won’t always hit you, that adds to the tension of always needing to be in cover.

To put things in perspective how hard the game is, there’s no one a Team Jade who managed to beat the entire campaign solo! Yep, that’s what we were told, which is crazy when you think about it.

The Delta Force Black Hawk Down campaign game description reads, “In this thrilling free-to-play co-op campaign, step into the boots of an elite Delta Force operator and relive one of the most iconic military operations, where a straightforward capture operation turns into an impossible extraction.”

Delta Force Campaign Features:

A LEGENDARY BATTLE, REIMAGINED – Powered by Unreal Engine 5, BLACK HAWK DOWN delivers breathtaking visuals, immersing you in Mogadishu like never before. With an unparalleled level of detail and a diverse range of missions, every corner of the city tells a story, and every encounter feels visceral and real.

TEST YOUR LIMITS – It takes grit, determination, and sacrifice to become a legend. BLACK HAWK DOWN is the ultimate test of skill, demanding everything you’ve got. This isn’t a shooting gallery—it’s war. Every turn could be your last, and survival is never guaranteed.

A FAITHFUL REBOOT  – The BLACK HAWK DOWN co-op campaign is a faithful reboot of the classic 2001 movie and a heartfelt love letter to fans of the original 2003 Delta Force: Black Hawk Down, breathing new life into those legendary stories and moments.

PLAY AS A TEAM – Only the best squads survive. Choose your class, customize your loadout, and—most importantly—move as a unit to overcome the unprecedented challenges ahead.

If you want to give it a shot, you can download the campaign for free via this link once it’s officially released.

BUG FIXES

Movement & Weapons

  • Fixed an issue where players were unable to Tac Sprint after switching to a melee weapon when their Tac Sprint had depleted.
  • Fixed an issue where on controller, after leaving water with a melee weapon equipped, switching weapons while mantling would cause unintended behavior.
  • Fixed an issue where when entering water with a melee weapon equipped and then exiting, the weapon switch would default to the backup pistol instead of a primary or secondary weapon.
  • Fixed an issue where when a player had Throwing Knives equipped as their lethal and attempted to swap to their dedicated melee weapon, the Throwing Knife would override their melee weapon.
  • Fixed an issue where visual recoil was too intense on the JAK Jawbreaker AMP.
  • Fixed an issue on some Fast Mag attachments that resulted in extra rechamber animations playing at the end of an empty reload.

Combat & Gameplay

  • Fixed an issue where if a player eliminates an enemy and their teammate eliminates them again, both eliminations would count for the first player.
  • Fixed an issue where eliminations did not track properly for a player who downed an enemy that was taken hostage and executed by a teammate.
  • Fixed an issue where gas masks would take damage from gas grenades while inside the PDS safe zone.
  • Fixed a rare issue where a player who had recently used a PRD would retain the PRD icon on the mini-map, revealing their location for the rest of the match.

Killstreaks

  • Fixed an issue where the sometimes the “warning” callout would not play for the enemy when another player called in three UAVs to activate an Advanced UAV.
  • Fixed an issue where Cluster Strike missiles would look like they were landing sideways.
  • Fixed an issue where the Precision Airstrike “danger close” text would appear unexpectedly when ADSing with the airstrike marker.

UI/UX

  • Fixed an issue where the Self Ping marker was missing.
  • Fixed an issue where players could incorrectly appear as squad members in the squad widget during the pre-match lobby.
  • Fixed an issue where the scoreboard did not display kills or assists in the Gulag.
  • Fixed an issue where the AAR report failed to display all player stats.
  • Fixed an issue where changing the selected Operator could break the walking screen animation and display a blank background.
  • Fixed an issue where the post-match rank displayed too early in the Ranked AAR flow.

Stability

  • Fixed an issue where small game freezes and flashes could occur when a player disconnects.
  • Fixed an issue where players could encounter a dev error when attempting to access Buy Stations.
  • Fixed an issue where some players encountered a dev error when navigating or leaving sections of Warzone.
  • Fixed an issue where a dev error could occur when tabbing to the Barracks tab.

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed an issue where V4L3RIA’s head model was missing while performing the “Who’s a Good Boy?” emote.
  • Fixed an issue in Bootcamp where Buy Stations sometimes displayed an incorrect inventory.
  • Fixed an issue where players were kicked back to the Play tab when entering the Battle Pass tab after a match.

Activision has also acknowledged a list of known issues that will be fixed in an upcoming update.

  • Players may encounter a crash when attempting to pause a Zombies match.
  • Citadelle des Morts Oil Trap kills will temporarily no longer count as critical kills for the currently held weapon. (This will be rolled back to pre-S02 Reloaded behavior shortly)

Once that patch is out, we’ll let our readers know.

Path of Exile 2 Update 1.013 Adds Support for Upcoming Event and More

[summaraize]

Grinding Gear Games has deployed Path of Exile 2 update 1.013 on consoles and PC, and this preps the game for the upcoming Legacy of Phrecia event, alongside various bug fixes.

Read on for the complete patch notes and details for today’s PoE2 title update.

Path of Exile 2 Receives Patch 3.25.3D on Consoles and PC

  • Added support for the upcoming Legacy of Phrecia event.
  • Added 475 more foiled Tier 17 Valdo’s Map options that the Valdo’s Puzzle Box can yield.
  • Added 360 more foiled Unique Item options that the Voidborn Reliquary can yield.
  • The cost of almost all town upgrades for Kingsmarch has been reduced, most notably at early to mid levels.
  • Early, non-smelting upgrades for Kingsmarch that cost Ore now instead cost a much smaller amount of the respective Bar. This is to prevent situations where you don’t want to smelt an Ore as you need it for an upgrade.
  • The “Socketed Vaal Skills have 100% reduced Soul Gain Prevention” Runesmithing Enchantment has been updated to “Socketed Vaal Skills do not apply Soul Gain Prevention”, this is not a functional change.
  • Fixed a bug where online item filters could sometimes fail to load when logging in on consoles.
  • Fixed a bug where Blitz Charges stated they had a duration of 5 seconds, when they actually have a duration of 10 seconds.
  • Fixed two instance crashes.

A hotfix was released soon after that, which was for “Fixed an instance crash introduced with 3.25.3d.”

That’s it for this patch, though we’re certain another one will be released soon given the studio’s cadence of support. Once GGG releases another one, expect it here on MP1st.

Black Ops 6 and Warzone Update 1.069 Brings Season 2 Mid-Season Patch

[summaraize]

Activision has released the Season 2 mid-season patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone this February 20, and this once again brings a slew of new content, fixes, new cosmetics and more.

Players will see this as Black Ops 6 and Warzone update 1.069 on current-gen, with last-gen gamers seeing this as patch 1.69. Given all recent Call of Duty games are under one launcher, players should be promoted to download this patch regardless if you’re only playing Warzone or the recent Call of Duty multiplayer games.

COD Black Ops 6 Update 1.069 Patch Notes and Everything New for Multiplayer and Zombies

New Multiplayer Maps

  • Grind Ooze (6v6)
    • The fan-favorite map first released in Call of Duty: Black Ops II returns for Black Ops 6 in the mid-season! Show off your best combat moves in the outdoor Half Pipe and Cradle or take your chances inside as Operators trade shots around the Store and across the indoor skate ramps, with TMNT decals, posters, and artwork spread across the scenery.
  • Bullet (6v6/2v2)
    • Sev and Rogue Team deploy to a high-speed bullet train to neutralize a key enemy target. Keep your eyes sharp when moving up and sweeping the carriages; the automatic sliding doors may reveal an incoming enemy at a moment’s notice. Climb up to the roof of the train to feel the whipping wind and marvel at the landscape flying by. Be ready to defend your spot up top and then drop back down behind the enemy line.

New Multiplayer Modes

  • TMNT Moshpit
    • Enter a game of Team Deathmatch, Domination, or Hardpoint and unleash ninja-level abilities and TMNT Scorestreaks against your enemies in pursuit of victory. These special Scorestreaks are earned by scoring as normal, but because the turtles work as a team, objective plays award an increase in the score.

New Weapons

The mid-season update brings new weapons to battle with, including a sawblade Secondary Weapon and five new Melee Weapons. Note that the base versions of the Bo Staff, Katanas, Sai, and Nunchaku Melee weapons will be available to unlock via the Armory at the start of Season 02 Reloaded.

Melee Weapons

  • Bo Staff (Armory or Bundle Blueprint Unlock)
    • One-hit elimination. Slow attack speed. Very long range.
  • Katanas (Armory or Bundle Blueprint Unlock)
    • One-hit elimination. Moderately fast attack speed. Short range.
  • Sai (Armory or Bundle Blueprint Unlock)
    • One-hit elimination. Fast attack speed. Very short range.
  • Nunchaku (Armory or Bundle Blueprint Unlock)
    • Two-hit elimination. Very fast attack speed. Medium range.
  • Skateboard (Event Reward)
    • One-hit elimination. Moderately fast attack speed. Moderately long range.

Secondary Weapon

  • D1.3 Sector (Event Reward)
    • Rechambering blade launcher. Equip different magazines to access a variety of deadly projectile types.

New Attachment

  • Belt-Fed Attachment (Event Reward)
    • Outfit any of the four available LMGs (PU-21, XMG, GPMG-7, Feng 82 LMGs) with a large helping of extra ammo continuously fed to the weapon through sustained fire.

New Perk

  • Hunter’s Instinct (Enforcer – Event Reward)
    • Eliminating an enemy will mark the next closest one. A narrow cone briefly appears on your mini-map after an elimination, showing the general direction of your next nearest foe.

New Wildcard

  • Flyswatter (Event Reward)
    • Allows a player to replace their Dedicated Melee weapon with a Launcher.

New Zombies Directed Mode

  • The Tomb
    • Directed Mode arrives for The Tomb, granting players extra guidance and round cap limitations when taking on the Main Quest.

New Zombies Limited-Time Mode

  • Cowabunga Cranked
    • Kick undead butt and don’t let up as the timer keeps ticking down in this TMNT Zombies LTM, challenging players to take down target after target to beat the clock and stay alive.

Fail to eliminate a zombie before the timer hits zero and ka-boom! You’re gone.
    • As rounds progress, the Cranked timer will continue to shrink, so keep pushing the fight to stay in the game! Thankfully, there are several Pizza power-ups that can drop in the match, including:
      • Turtle Power: Temporarily empowers the player with a health bonus and Pack-A-Punch 3 Legendary Melee Weapons
      • Pizza Box: Fills the Cranked Timer to max
      • Slice-O-Pie: Partial time added to the Cranked Timer
    • All players in this mode are given the Donny’s Time Stopper Field Upgrade; activate it to pause the Cranked timer for one full minute.
    • For those craving a real challenge, Main Quests will be active in Cowabunga Cranked, with a subtly different TMNT version of each map’s Main Quest completion Calling Card available as a memento for anyone radical enough to achieve this feat! Think you can finish all of them?

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle New Update for Feb. 20 Brings Patch #3

[summaraize]

MachineGames deployed Update 3 for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on February 20. This update adds new features for the PC version and bug fixes on all platforms.

The big news here is Nvidia DLSS 4 has been added, as well as FSR 3.1 including frame generation. Read on for the complete patch notes, just bear in mind the bug fixes contain some minor spoilers.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Update 3 Patch Notes

New Features

NVIDIA DLSS 4

Update 3 brings support for NVIDIA DLSS 4: a suite of rendering technologies that boosts framerates, increases performance, and improves image quality!

  • Players using supported NVIDIA hardware can enable Multi Frame Generation (3x, 4x) using the new transformer-based model
  • Ray Reconstruction increases the clarity and stability of ray-traced images
  • DLAA and DLSS Super Resolution have also been updated to the transformer-based model. These options when enabled, enhance native and upscaled image quality, respectively

Ray-Traced Local Lights

For players who have Path Tracing enabled, this update includes a new option for ray-traced shadows to include all light sources, which significantly increases the quality of shadows in interior locations. (Players can also choose to keep the previous setting, which provides ray-traced shadows from the sun only.)

Path Tracing (Full Ray Tracing) Support for AMD and Intel Graphics Cards

This update brings Path Tracing to supported Intel and AMD GPUs. To use Path Tracing, your Intel or AMD graphics card must support Hardware Ray Tracing and have at least 16GB of VRAM. Please make sure to download the latest drivers from your GPU manufacturer!

Note that in foliage-dense locations, such as Sukhothai, reducing Vegetation Animation Quality below the “Ultra” settings can reduce the occasional shadow “popping” that may be seen on all graphics cards using Path Tracing.

FSR 3.1, including Frame Generation

Update 3 adds support for AMD FSR 3.1 upscaling and frame generation technology.

Intel XESS 1.4

Update 3 also adds support for Intel XESS 1.4 upscaling.

Quality of Life Updates

  • Repair kits can now also be used by selecting them directly from the inventory (Rather than only by selecting your broken weapon or tool!)

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Update 1.012 Brings Hotfix 1.1.2 on Feb. 20

[summaraize]

The folks at Warhorse isn’t sitting idly by on their saddles, as improvements and fixes have just been released for Kingdome Come Deliverance 2’s first-ever post-release patch. Called Hotfix 1.1,2 those on consoles will see this as Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 update 1.012. Expect fixes to combat, stability and more.

Given this is a hotfix, don’t expect a major bug sweep, as we assume that’ll come in the game’s first official update.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2’s First Update Out This February 20 as Patch 1.012

Patch Notes:

Fortuna

  • Bozhena and Pavlena will no longer report the player for crimes during the quest.

The King’s Gambit

  • The quest interactor for wine will no longer disappear, allowing players to continue pouring wine for the guests.

Combat

  • Fixed the crossbow aiming zoom on ultrawide resolutions.

Platform-specific fixes

  • Epic Games Store: Fixed the issue with achievements not being completed after longer than one hour of play.

PROS

  • Improved the issue with rewards sometimes requiring game restart to be awarded.

Stability

  • Fixed a crash when looking at certain locked doors and chests.
  • Fixed a crash sometimes occurring loading the game after finishing the dice mini-game.
  • Fixed a crash related to opening the horse inventory.
  • Fixed a crash related to interacting with a cart.
  • Fixed a crash when spamming keys on the EULA screen.
  • Fixed a crash when having conflicting versions of the Bink library.
  • A few dozen additional stability fixes and improvements.

That’s it from Warhorse for this hotfix. No word yet on when we’ll get the first major patch, but once it’s out, it’ll be up on MP1st ASAP.

If you haven’t tried the game, you might want to remedy that, as our review was quite glowing in its praise, as we gave it a 9.5/10.

Metal Gear Solid 4’s Iconic Install Screen Gets Turned Into an Animated Wallpaper

[summaraize]

Here’s a trip down memory lane. Remember installation screens that used to plague every game a few generations ago? I know I do, but the one that has always stuck out the most to me was Kojima’s 2008 Metal Gear Solid 4, not because it was a long installation, but rather the fact that the game tried to keep you entertained by featuring Old Snake smoking a cigarette throughout the entire installations.

Well, seems like a touch of nostalgia has hit one particular fan who has now brought back the installation screen as a brand-new animated wallpaper for your desktop PC.

I’m No Hero…Never Was, Never Will Be. I’m Just an Old Killer, Hired to Be on Your Desktop

A new animated wallpaper, created by the host of The Kojima Frequency, a podcast that discusses everything related to Kojima and his work, is now available for Wallpaper Engine. As seen in the video above, the animated wallpaper features the same installation screen that we all saw back on MGS4 during the PS3 era. It has Old Snake huffing and puffing a cigarette. Seeing him taking in the moment and enjoying every second made the installation process so fun to watch, even if it was in a loop. It was certainly one of the most creative installation screens we’ve ever seen, and we’re glad to see it turned into an animated wallpaper.

Judging by the views of the post and comments shared underneath it, the Metal Gear Solid fanbase absolutely loves this creation. Hopefully, if Metal Gear Solid 4 is part of Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2, Konami manages to keep this installation screen. Even if it does not actually install anything, we hope it’s there as an option to playback whenever we want, just for the sake of nostalgia.

Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel to Aim for Most Realistic Crowd System Ever Seen in a Video Game

[summaraize]

One of the most interesting parts of Cyberpunk 2077 is its open-world environment called Night City. The representation of this cyberpunk metropolis will be at the center of the game’s sequel. CD Projekt RED specifically aims to create the most realistic crowd system ever seen in a video game.

As we know, one of the new projects being developed by the Polish studio is the direct sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, currently working under the codename Orion. It’s still a long way from completion, but it’s set to be a huge leap forward in terms of world-building.

Cyberpunk 2077 Sequel Will Feature the Most Realistic Crowd System Ever Seen in a Video Game

Cyberpunk 2077

This evolution is of course influenced by the major changes made to the original game. After a rather disastrous launch, the game has been worked on and improved over the years, reaching a truly remarkable level of quality.

Building on this base, Orion aims to create an even bigger, deeper, and more convincing cyberpunk world, especially in terms of how NPCs and the people of Night City are portrayed.

According to job postings recently shared by CD Projekt RED, the team is looking to fill various roles for the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, including a “lead encounter designer.” This person will focus on managing the local population of Night City, among other tasks, specifically dealing with the encounters that players will have during the game.

The developer will work alongside other team members, and the goal seems to be to “create the most realistic and reactive crowd system in any game to date.”

In addition to this, there will also be the usual design of “memorable combat encounters based on predefined narrative, environmental and gameplay themes,” but it looks like a lot of attention is being given to making the new Night City as alive and believable as possible.

Dutch Consumer Group Sues Sony Over High Digital Game Prices on PlayStation Store

[summaraize]

The Dutch consumer foundation Massaschade & Consument has filed a lawsuit against Sony, accusing the company of abusing its dominant position to keep prices high on the PlayStation Store. The foundation argues that digital games cost, on average, 47% more than physical versions, even though the costs of publishing and distribution are lower.

This legal action is based on research done by the foundation, which shows how the PlayStation Store’s closed system and Sony’s strong position in the console market cause “artificially high prices.” The foundation is especially unhappy with Sony’s choice to stop people from buying digital game keys from other stores, which reduces choices for consumers.

Sony Could Be Forced to Open Its Digital Market to Other Sellers

sony

If the lawsuit is successful, Sony may be forced to open up its digital market to other sellers. This case is part of a wider trend of similar legal actions against Sony in other European countries. In the UK, a similar case has been given the green light by the Competition Appeal Tribunal, drawing increasing attention to Sony’s business practices in the digital market.

Dutch PlayStation users who have bought items from the PlayStation Store can join the lawsuit for free. The first court hearing is expected at the end of the year, and the result could have a big impact on the digital game market.

In other news, Nintendo recently filed a lawsuit against a grocery store named “Super Mario” in San Ramon, Costa Rica, seeking to force a name change. However, the Costa Rican National Registry rejected Nintendo’s request, ruling that the Super Mario trademark was not classified in the country.

Astro Bot New Update 1.013 Adds Thrust or Bust and New Bot

[summaraize]

As expected given Team Asobi’s announcement last week, another new patch for award-winning game Astro Bot is out! PS5 players will see this as Astro Bot new update 1.013, and this adds the Thrust or Bust level, and a new bot to save.

Clocking in at just 396MB, this small download is the second of  a five-DLC roll out plan by Team Asobi, with content dropping for players for free until March.

Astro Bot’s New Update Version 1.013 Adds a New Bot

Aside from the new level, players can expect to earn the “Thrusting Rescue” trophy upon completion. As you can see, there is a new bot to be rescued as well. If you don’t want to be spoiled who it is, turn away now.

This week’s new bot is from Level-5’s PS2 RPG Dark Cloud!

The remaining levels we’re about to get every Thursday are:

  • Feb 20: Thrust or Bust
  • Feb 27: Cock-A-Doodle-Doom
  • Mar 6: Hard to Bear
  • Mar 13: Armored Hardcore

The updates are all scheduled to be released every Thursday at 6 am PT/9 am ET/10 pm HKT/10 pm JST.

Note that you must have completed the game to access these new levels (and bots).  One bot we know that’s on the way thanks to a leaked poster is someone from a renowned fighting game.

Don’t expect anyone from Final Fantasy 7 to make an appearance though, as Square Enix isn’t keen on adding any of its characters to the game.

PC Version: 1.0.14.17737

PS5 Version: 1.0.14.17738

What to Know Before Patch Installation

  • Due to the platform’s update mechanism, your computer will need to reserve a certain amount of free disk space (not necessarily on the same disk if you are s STEAM user) for temporary storage of the update files. (PC)
  • If you have installed any mods in the game, installing the patch may cause compatibility issues. This could prevent you from launching the game, loading your saved games, or triggering error pop-ups during gameplay. We recommend uninstalling the installed mods and verifying the integrity of the game files before restarting the game.
  • If you encounter unusually large update sizes during patch installation, or if the game gets stuck, crashes, or fails to start after installation, please refer to the Installation/Patch FAQ on our official website.
  • This update requires shaders to be recompiled. If you experience crashes during shader compilation, please try restarting the game until the compilation is complete or skip shader compilation. For more details, please refer to the Game Graphics FAQ. (PC)
