Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 3 Review – More Cost for a Lot Better Sound

Turtle Beach has unleashed two brand-new headphones, the Stealth 500 and Atlas Air. However, Stealth 600 fans weren’t left out in the cold, as the latest Gen 3 model has arrived. We spent some time putting this latest iteration through its paces, and have our Turtle Beach Stealth 600 review ready below.

Third Time’s A Charm

The Stealth 600 series of wireless headphones have been around since 2018. What started as a creaky plastic-heavy affair has turned into a solid performer that enough people have liked to warrant not just one, but now two follow-up products. This third version is decidedly more low-profile in appearance than the Gen 2 model, and is available in white or black (we opted for black). For the black model, a dark, matte black plastic is used throughout, with TURTLE BEACH lining both earcups. There’s no real telling which version you have, as the PC, PS, and Xbox units no longer sport obvious colorways. Some may like this departure, while others will not. The earcups can be folded flat, at least, for easier portability.

In the box, you’ll find the headphones, the USB-A transmitter for use with PC, PS, Xbox, or Switch platforms depending on model, a 2.3ft/0.7m-long USB-A to USB-C charging cable (the PC version gets a longer 6.6ft/2m cord, along with exclusive Waves 3D audio effects), and a quick start guide. All of this is within a form-fitted inner cardboard packaging. Pretty barebones, but I’d rather see that my money went towards the hardware as opposed to fancy packaging, at least at this price point.

Are these largely the same as the previous generation of the Stealth 600? Well, yes and no. While the driver size remains the same, they use Nanoclear, which is some sort of audio technology that Turtle Beach doesn’t really expand upon much in its press materials. Two of the biggest changes, though, are the inclusion of Bluetooth and a larger battery to help achieve a truly stellar battery life (more on that later). All controls are located on the left earcup, including two different volume wheels, which have a slightly different texture so that you can tell them apart by feel alone, a nice touch. The headphones are comfortable to wear during long gaming sessions, though the clamping force can be a little tiring after several hours. This may not always be the case, though, as headphones can get a little looser with repeated use. Unlike the Atlas Air or even the cheaper Stealth 500, the Stealth 600 does not have a floating inner headband incorporated in its design. This has never been the case with the Stealth 600 line, though, so that seems to be the reason for its absence here, done so in the name of tradition. Personally, I prefer the floating headband style as I find them more comfortable and easier to use than headphones where you have to adjust the position of each earcup, but this is mostly a subjective feeling.

Stamina for Weeks

What about the competition? There are some serious heavy hitter hovering around the $100 price point, as you’re at the cusp of mid-level consumer-grade headphones. Gaming brand Razer comes to mind, with their Kaira headphones. Priced the same as the Stealth 600, they have 50mm drivers as well. Wireless and Bluetooth are available, and it generally seems like a decent competitor, however, the battery life is only rated for 30 hours, less than half of the Stealth 600. For some, that’s a deal breaker, and indeed even Microsoft, SteelSeries, and Plantronics-branded headsets in this price range all fall short of the Stealth 600 when it comes to battery life. Most headsets around this price also use smaller 40mm drivers, so whatever Turtle Beach did to cram their drivers in alongside a large enough battery to power the experience was worth it.

Setup is much the same as Turtle Beach’s other models, where they default to wireless transmission, and must be switched into Bluetooth mode via the Quick Connect button before pairing with other devices can take place. It’s slightly unintuitive, but once you’ve become used to Turtle Beach’s way of doing things, it’s easy to remember. It should be noted that the USB transmitter offers impeccable signal range. Much like with the Stealth 500s, I found myself free to roam around my entire house (a two-story, roughly 2000 sqft house built in the ‘60s) without ANY loss in signal. I had to start walking down our driveway before the audio started to drop. Rest assured, a trip to the kitchen for some snacks will not interrupt your tunes or your gaming audio.

A large transmission range is great and all, but it’s kind of a moot point if the headphones don’t sound any good. Happily, I can report that the Stealth 600s sound much better than the 500s. Again, not that the 500s sounded particularly bad, just that they offered no real oomph to the audio like what the 600s bring to the table. Turtle Beach’s 50mm Nanoclear dynamic transducers offer the same standard 20 Hz – 20kHz frequency response range, however perhaps owing to their larger diameter, they are capable of delivering a more detailed, powerful sound signature. The default “Signature” EQ preset it fairly flat, but even then a much more pronounced bass can quickly be felt. With an MSRP of $99, it’s incredible to hear just how much better things can be for a mere $20 more.

Same App, Same Flip-to-Mute Mic, Outstanding Battery Life

As these are closed-back, over-ear headphones, the Stealth 600 offers some natural sound isolation. Though, without active noise cancelling, you’ll still hear a lot of your surroundings until you crank up the volume a bit. Even then, you’ll probably still hear loud noises like vacuum cleaners or city noise from time to time. Good noise cancelling is still a premium feature, so it’s not surprising to not see it here. The flip-to-mute microphone is reliable, and it’s satisfying to click into place. There is an AI-based noise reduction feature toggleable on the mic, which seems to work fine as those I spoke to said I sounded clear.

The same newly-released Swarm II application can be used with the Stealth 600, on the same platforms as before: Windows, Android, and iOS. Using any version will allow you to update firmware, mess with settings, and change EQ presets, among other features, including modifying what one of the volume wheels and mode button does. The application runs a bit more smoothly on my phone than my laptop, though as my phone (a 2022 Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4) is newer than my Surface Pro 7 this is almost expected thanks to all the gains made in the mobile processor space.

Battery life is also leading-class on the Stealth 600. Turtle Beach rates them at around 80 hours, and so far they appear to live up to that claim. Your mileage here will vary, mostly based on volume and the kind of environment you use them in, but for the most part you’ll likely find that you don’t need to charge until after a couple of weeks of regular use, like say at a workplace. Any headset that can go toe-to-toe with the Audeze Maxwell when it comes to battery life has the right stuff, I’d say.

Verdict

The Turtle Beach Stealth 600 is a great all-around gaming headset, with an incredible battery life. The 50mm drivers help to deliver a more exciting sound signature than the slightly cheaper Stealth 500. Indeed, of the three new Turtle Beach headphones we’ve spent time with recently, the 600s represent a middle-of-the-pack value somewhere between budget and premium. The loss of a floating headband is a curious choice, though for those used to the earlier-gen versions its exclusion likely makes sense. Turtle Beach fans can be rest assured that the Stealth 600 continues to deliver fine performance for a hair under $100, and are easily worth the asking price.

Score: 8/10

Pros:

  • Much better sound for only $20 more than the Stealth 500.
  • Leading-class battery life at 80 hours.
  • Bluetooth connectivity for staying connected while you game.

Cons:

  • Initial setup slightly unintuitive.
  • Understated profile may disappoint some.
  • Stays with series tradition of no inner floating headband.

EA UFC 5 Update 1.09 Patch Notes Revealed Ahead of May 28 Download

EA is about to release a new title update for EA UFC 5 this May 28, and it will add new fighters and more! Thankfully, we don’t need to wait until patch day, as EA has released the complete UFC 5 update 1.09 patch notes!

EA UFC 5 Update 1.09 Patch Notes:

Roman Dolidze (#11 MW) – Brutal best describes Roman Dolidze’s fighting style. In the clinch or on the ground, this Georgian powerhouse will not stop striking his opponent until they submit or go unconscious.

Benoît Saint Denis (#13 LW) –  An all-action fighter boasting a UFC record of five wins with only two losses, with all five wins coming by finish. Benoît Saint Denis does not know the meaning of the word quit. When BSD steps into the UFC 5 Octagon, WAR is coming with him!

Anthony Hernandez (#14 MW) – Don’t let his nickname fool you, nothing is “Fluffy” about Anthony Hernandez’s fighting style. This relentless wrestler will ragdoll his opponent around the Octagon until they only want one thing, a way out, and “Fluffy” is more than willing to give that to them in the form of a quick submission.

New Fighters

  • Roman Dolidze (#11 MW)
  • Benoît Saint Denis (#13 LW)
  • Anthony Hernandez (#14 MW)

UFC 302 Fight Week Challenges and New Alter Egos

  • These will be added on May 28, 2024, at approximately 4 pm PT

Striking

  • Fixed an issue that allowed fighters to partially block the special lead hook block counter.
    • Blocking a hook or overhand on your lead side allows you to fire off a lead hook very quickly in return. Previously, opponents were able to rarely block it. Now, the counter should land cleanly before the opponent can block it.
  • Fixed a rare tracking issue against head movement that distorted the strike trajectory and could lead to unfair hits.
    • Depending on stats, it was possible for there to be small gaps in the evasion window of some slips. Besides causing some strikes to land when they clearly shouldn’t, this issue could also make strikes’s trajectories look jittery. The specific cases we investigated were the minor side-to-side sways, but the fix we applied was general.
  • Fixed an inconsistency with the advancing lead hook to straight combo, when performed with the Celtic Cross.
    • This Celtic Cross in this specific combo was unintendedly 4 frames faster. It will now have the same speed as the other straights.

Grappling

  • Fixed a rare animation issue in exchanges from the over-under clinch.

Misc. Additions and Updates

  • Added Michael Chandler to Welterweight
  • New Vanity Items added
  • Fixed stat tracking on several challenge types
  • Fixed an issue causing rear audio when using Dolby Atmos sound settings
  • Corrected missing Tale of the Tape data for some fighters in Career Mode

Baldur’s Gate 3 Physical Deluxe Edition for PS5 Delayed to July

Those who bought the physical edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5, we’re here to bring some bad news, as Larian Studios has confirmed that physical Deluxe Edition has been delayed due to production issues.

The announcement was made today via Larian Studios’ Twitter/X account:

We have disappointing news to share with you.

While we were so hoping to not have to update owners of the console physical Deluxe Edition with any further news of delay, we’ve now run into more production issues which means that players who pre-ordered their PS5 North America copy that was expected to ship later this month, will now have to wait until July before they can get their hands on them.

Due to production changes outside of our control, we have had to follow certain processes specifically set by production companies when manufacturing the PS5 discs, and unfortunately, the approval for particular regions has taken much longer than expected.

We expect all PS5 North America copies to be ready in around 14 days – followed by another 10 days to begin delivering these directly to players. We are also in talks with the manufacturer to understand whether it is possible to hire extra temporary staff to reduce assembly times.

Knowing that there are some of you still waiting to play Baldur’s Gate 3, despite the fact we are unable to substitute physical goods with digital versions, we can only deeply apologise that your preorders have again been delayed.

By committing to creating physical editions, we were hoping to preserve the almost nostalgic feeling of unboxing your newest game, and this is a commitment we’re hoping to bring into the future with us, this time ensuring we continue to work closely with our partners to manage the planning and production process.

We’re so sorry it’s taking so long to get your preorder to you, and thank you, for continuing to support us.

Larian also confirmed that Xbox physical copies are now shipping, and the PS5 EU and Oceania copies have left their warehouse, and if it’s not delivered, it should be with the relevant courier.

The studio also addresses the digital content for the physical Deluxe Edition, and states that the digital content codes have been emailed to those with a PS5 EU or Oceania console copy, and they are in the process of emailing the codes for the Xbox versions.

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that’s how it goes. The only silver lining is, the game is a brilliant RPG, so those waiting for their discs to play it, you’re in for a treat. Our review heaps it with such praise stating, “. The amount of content and the sheer quality in display almost makes it feel like a steal, a game that grows on you and eats the hours away, invading your dreams and making you count the time until you return to it.”

XDefiant Netcode & Hit Registration Improvements in the Works; Sniper Flinch, Camera Shake to Be Tuned

While Ubisoft San Francisco just released a patch to help improve XDefiant’s netcode, it didn’t solve all the issues with it. This is something the devs are aware of, and have confirmed that XDefiant hit registration and netcode improvements are being worked on currently.

This confirmation was made by XDefiant Executive Producer Mark Rubin, who also mentioned that there 1,000+ things that can affect netcode, and the studio needs to investigate and fix each and everyone one, and that it’ll take time but players will see improvements.

In addition to that, Rubin also touched on the topic of cheaters, and how it’s a constant battle. We’ve compiled Rubin’s multi-tweet message for an easier read below.

Good morning and Happy Weekend!

Just wanted to say a couple of things that I don’t think will surprise anyone but I just wanted to make sure I reinforced them. I hope everyone is having a great time and fun and safe weekend!

– Netcode & Hitreg. A lot of people talking about it and we are listening. We are working on improvements. There are 1000+ things that can affect netcode and we need to investigate and fix each and every one. So it will take time but we will see improvements.

– There are numerous other topics that people have brought up and we are listening. We use software that searches across social, reddit, discord, etc. for topics and gives us a big list. We are attacking that list as fast as we can.

– Cheaters are being banned and investigated and will not be tolerated. But as I’ve said many times before, It’s a constant battle. These people legitimately HATE video games and HATE you as a player. And yeah, I’m MAD about it!

In another Twitter convo, Rubin confirmed that sniper flinch will be increased! This should be good news for those shooting at snipers and still getting sniped as if they aren’t getting pelted with bullets.

In addition to that, another thing confirmed to be tuned is the game’s camera shake, which Rubin states has some bugs.

Just to recap: XDefiant players can expect improvements for the netcode and hit reg, sniper flinch to be upped, and camera shake to be tuned. No word on when we’ll get these changes or if they’ll be in one big update, but once we know more, we’ll let our readers know.

Our review of XDefiant should be hitting the site in the next coming days. We want to make sure we played the game enough to give it a proper verdict.

Turtle Beach Stealth 500 Review – Wallet-Friendly Wireless

Turtle Beach has been busy this season, as they kindly shipped us a whole slew of gaming hardware. Releasing this week is not one, not two, but three headphones: a premium open-back design called the Atlas Air, a revamped Stealth 600 Gen 3, and the headphones we are reviewing first, the new (and more wallet-friendly) Stealth 500. At just $80 USD, can this lightweight and widely compatible headset compete in the entry-level wireless gaming headset category? Read our Turtle Beach Stealth 500 review to find out.

Barebones Accessories

As this is an entry-level wireless headset, there’s not a whole lot to take out of the box. Within the mostly-empty packaging, you’ll find the headphones, a proprietary USB-A transmitter, a 2.3ft/0.7m charging cable, and a quick start guide. It’s everything you need to get started, and nothing you don’t. A bright yellow sticker on the quick start guide advises you to update the firmware of the headphones using Turtle Beach’s own newly-released app called Swarm II, which is available on Windows, Android, and iOS. There’s a relatively smooth process to update the drivers using any platform, though mobile is a little easier as the Windows app can sometimes report it needs an update even when it doesn’t. Updating on mobile does require you to be able to plug in the transmitter into any nearby powered full-size USB port, which you may not have available if you only have your phone on you.

Whichever version of the app you use, you are able to mess around with settings galore. On the mobile version, there are four tabs, which allow you to mess with overall volume and EQ presets, microphone settings, auto-off timing and transmitter LED light brightness, and see current firmware information, respectively.  The Windows version of the app shows all of this information on one scrollable screen, plus an editable 10-band equalizer which you can create your own custom presets with. There is currently no way to save your custom presets to the headset for use with other devices, however the headphones do remember the last EQ used, so as long as you don’t change it elsewhere the settings will stick around. What’s nice is that Turtle Beach includes this functionality for all of their newly-released headphones, including these Stealth 500s.

Standard Performance, Actual Analog Volume

All sub-$100 wireless headphones make some concessions, and the Stealth 500 is no exception to this rule. The drivers are standard, dynamic 40mm transducers, with a standard 20 Hz – 20 kHz response range. They have a flat sound signature, with no real emphasis on the low-end, mids, or highs. You can tune this a bit within the app, though, which can help bring in some details at lower volumes so you don’t risk hearing damage. Tuned or not, you’ll hear everything going on in your games, but it probably won’t surprise you as the details are simply good enough. I’m not saying these sound bad, by any means, but the Stealth 500s sound like any other pair of headphones at this price point.

What they give up in audio quality, the Stealth 500s make up for with versatility. A floating headband allows for effortless placement on top of your head, which all but guarantees long-term comfort for those longer gaming sessions. The proprietary USB transmitter works on PC if you have either the PC or PS version, however the Xbox version only works via transmitter on Xbox. The transmitter has a fantastic range. As an example, I live in a ~2000 sqft. two-story house. With audio playing on one side of the home, I could hear whatever was playing throughout both floors. The house was built in the ’60s, meaning the signals travelled through some thick materials. If you’ve got a device with Bluetooth functionality, it’s likely they’ll connect pretty easily to the Stealth 500. Though, in order to get the Stealth 500s into pairing mode, you have to first press the QuickSwitch button, which toggles them between their proprietary wireless mode and Bluetooth. This is a little unintuitive, as even the instruction manual doesn’t outright say this, but it makes sense if you just stop and think about it for a second.

A Fierce Competitor

So, while overall these are a nice set of entry-level wireless headphones, they do not exist in a vacuum. Which begs the question: what else is available in the $80-or-less category? Ever-dependable Astro makes the A20 Gen 2, which, while priced at only $60, does not include Bluetooth functionality, and only sports a roughly 15 hour battery life. Logitech makes a G435 headphone for the same asking price as the Stealth 500, which also includes Bluetooth functionality, but once again battery life is inferior at around 18 hours. It’s also designed for smaller heads, though that does result in a lighter headset. Finally, Razer makes their Barracuda X, which is perhaps the closest competitor here. It also has 40mm drivers, Bluetooth, a rated 50-hour battery life, and is a bit lighter than the Stealth 500. However, it does not have a floating headband, which means you’ll need to adjust it to fit your noggin rather than simply setting it atop your head. It’s a small thing, but it can make a difference over the long term.

Turtle Beach has found a sweet spot balancing price and features in the Stealth 500. At just $79.99 USD, we’re talking about an almost impulse-level price for a full-featured headset. While the audio quality isn’t quite up to snuff compared to non-wireless headsets, with a focus on gaming that’s not really the point. Being able to be reached while gaming is important for some, and the Bluetooth compatibility provides just that. While the Stealh 600 Gen 3 headphones are only $20 more and sound much better, if you just can’t or don’t want to spend a dime more, then the Stealth 500 headphones represent a good deal.

Score: 8/10

Pros:

  • Extremely light.
  • Fantastic transmitter range.
  • Floating headband helps in longer gaming sessions.
  • Bluetooth functionality ensures you can stay connected if you want to.
  • 40-hour battery life!

Cons:

  • Audio performance is merely standard.
  • Initial setup could be more intuitive.
  • Stealth 600 sounds much better for just $20 more.

A review unit of the Stealth 500 (PS version) was provided by the manufacturer. You can read MP1st’s review and scoring policy right here.

Black Ops 6 Calling Card Being Given Out; Marketing Begins as Content Creators Receive Beeper With Coded Messages

With Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 officially announced, it seems Activision is wasting no time in marketing the game. Aside from the announcement, gamers can now get a Black Ops 6 Calling Card that will be available in the game (provided you buy it, of course).

All players have to do to get it is to reply to the tweet below alongside their Activision ID to get the Calling Card when the game launches later this year.

In addition to that, Activision has sent over packages to content creators that houses an old school beeper and other paraphernalia promoting Black Ops 6.

As you can see, the beeper is getting some cryptic messages, and chances are this will lead to something fruitful for Black Ops 6. I wouldn’t be surprised if this is tied to Warzone as well given Activision has almost always revealed the year’s Call of Duty in Warzone since the free-to-play battle royale game launched.

In other Black Ops 6 news, it seems the game is indeed coming to last-gen (PS4, Xbox One) platforms, which we’re not sure whether it’s good or bad news. The game seemingly will feature the Gulf War and might even have references to 9/11 as well based on the text spotted on the game’s logo.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Won’t Feature Microtransactions or In-Game Cash Shops Confirmed

Not only did we get Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2’s release date reveal yesterday along with a look at some of its multiplayer modes, but we also got the confirmation of a Season Pass. With that in mind, some (including me) assumed that Space Marine 2 would feature microtransactions and an in-game shop where players can buy new stuff.

Apparently, we assumed wrong, as publisher Focus Entertainment has confirmed that Space Marine 2 will not feature an in-game shop or any microtransactions at all!

As you can see based on the tweet, Focus confirms that all gameplay content and features will be free, and the paid DLCs will be cosmetic only. This is refreshing news, as almost all games these days feature an in-game shop and microtransactions.

Will Focus Entertainment add a shop post-release like what Bandai Namco did with Tekken 8? Maybe, but it sure doesn’t seem that way.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Features:

Your Craft Is Death

Embody the superhuman skill and brutality of a Space Marine. Unleash deadly abilities and devastating weaponry to obliterate the relentless Tyranid swarms. Defend the Imperium in spectacular third-person action in solo or multiplayer modes.

Purge the Relentless Tyranid Swarms

Hold at bay the horrors of the galaxy in epic battles on far-flung planets with your deadly abilities, devastating weaponry, and uncover dark secrets to drive back the everlasting night and prove your ultimate loyalty to humanity.

Defend the Imperium in 3-Player Co-Op

Black Ops 6 Last-Gen Version Seemingly Confirmed via GameStop Listing

While Activision didn’t state which platforms Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on in yesterday’s announcement, it’s a given that it’ll be on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. For those wondering if we’re getting Black Ops 6 on last-gen (PS4, Xbox One), it seems that’s a yes.

Over on Reddit, user Oufp4 posted a GameStop listing of the game confirming the PS4 version:

For some reason, it doesn’t mention the Xbox One version for some reason, and the last-gen version is priced at $69.99, which is what the current-gen games are priced currently.

If true, then this means Black Ops 6 will be launching on consoles released over 10 years ago. I can imagine that most gamers won’t be happy with this, as this means the game will have to cater (somewhat) to the lowest common denominator when it comes game features and whatnot, as Treyarch most likely wouldn’t want current-gen owners to gain an advantage over last-gen owners in multiplayer. Not only that, but that means the game’s visuals won’t exactly be cutting-edge given there should still be parity in how the last-gen and current-gen versions look to some degree.

Of course, it makes sense why Activision and Microsoft would want to do this, and that’s for game sales. There’s still a ton of people gaming on last-gen consoles, and catching even a fraction of that equals a lot of sold game copies. It’s just that crazy to think that here we are on the fourth year of the current-gen hardware’s release, and we’re still getting games cross-gen games.

With no official announcement from Microsoft or Activision, take this with a grain of salt for now. We’ve reached out to Activision to get a confirmation, and once we hear anything back, we’ll update the article.

      • Rank 12: reduced from 10,000,000 to 2,500,000

Developer’s Note: We want to make the main push for Masterworking to be focused on the acquisition of materials, and less focused on needing the Gold. We want to avoid the possibility of having the materials available, but needing to take extra time to collect the Gold.

  • The Armor cap is now displayed in the tooltip when hovering over Armor in character stats.
  • The surge damage from Sorcerer’s Enhanced Charged bolts has been increased from 30% to 45%.

Developer’s Note: We investigated an issue where the surge from Enhanced Charged Bolts was happening too frequently when enemies were tightly stacked together, which caused performance issues. We also found that the surge damage was doing less damage than intended while the Piercing Static aspect was equipped. While fixing those two issues (see bug fixes below), it was decided that a 50% buff to the surge damage would compensate for reducing how often it procs when enemies are stacked together.

  • The drop rates for Scattered Prisms have been increased from multiple sources.
    • Treasure goblins now drop Scattered Prisms more often.
      • 15% Chance in World Tiers I and II
      • 25% Chance in World Tier III
      • 30% Chance in World Tier IV
    • World Bosses now always drop Scattered Prisms, and the amount they drop increases by World Tier.
      • World Tiers I and II: 1 Scattered Prism
      • World Tier III: 2 Scattered Prisms
      • World Tier IV: 3 Scattered Prisms
    • The Butcher will always drop a Scattered Prism on defeat.
  • Reworked item stat comparisons to be more intuitive when the same stat appears on an item multiple times, which most often occurs with tempered items.

Developer’s Note: Previously, if you compared an item’s stats and it had a value appear twice (such as Cooldown Reduction,) it would display those two different values individually. We have now updated this to combine those individual values to only display one value, making it easier to compare stats across items.

  • The Whisper bounty requirements for defeating Hellborne has been reduced from defeating 3 to defeating 1.

Developer’s Note: We’ve made this change to compensate for a bug fix that can be seen further down in the patch notes.

BUG FIXES

Accessibility

  • Fixed an issue where the Screen Reader did not properly announce supported item slot categories for Aspects in the Codex of Power.
  • Fixed an issue where the Screen Reader did not properly differentiate between locked and unlocked Tempering recipes.

User Interface and User Experience

  • Fixed an issue where Bloodmarked players could not send party invites to each other.
  • Fixed an issue where trading Gold to a player at the Gold cap would exit the trade without any feedback to the player.
  • Fixed multiple instances where Skill tooltips did not update after being affected by Sorcerer Enchantment effects or new affixes introduced with Tempering.
  • Fixed an issue where the tooltip for Tempering re-rolls was inconsistent.
  • Fixed an issue where the preview and comparison tooltip values for Tempered Amulets and Two-Handed weapons were inaccurate.
  • Fixed an issue where the way interacting with Tempering recipes was inconsistent between Keyboard and Mouse play and Controller play.
  • Fixed an issue where the Masterworking menu could become locked when switching World Tiers.
  • Fixed an issue where the icons for denoting levels of Masterworking on an item were inconsistent.
  • Fixed an issue where the Progress section on the Trials screen would fail to update when a new Class completes the Gauntlet for the first time on the same account.
  • Fixed an issue where several skills newly labeled as Core Skills, such as Kick and Firewall, would not come up when searching for Core Skills in the Skill tree.
  • Fixed an issue where saving changes in the Wardrobe by switching tabs would not reflect the changes.
  • Fixed an issue where Soudeh’s dialogue was missing a line after defeating the Blood Maiden.
  • Fixed an issue where the visual size of Stun Grenades did not increase with the actual effect’s size when using the Tempered Affix that increases their size.
  • Fixed an issue where the Greater Affix icon on an item overlapped with socketed Gems.
  • Fixed an issue where item stat comparisons were incorrect when one of the items involved in the comparison had two different sources of the same item stat. Now, multiple sources of the same stat will be condensed into a single value for item comparison purposes.
  • Fixed an issue where the tooltip for Veiled Crystals could be seen in the Replace Affix menu when enchanting an item.
  • Fixed an issue where stacks of Baneful Hearts did not display as multiple when on the ground.
  • Fixed an issue where a popup would mistakenly state that a new Pit tier had been unlocked when it had not actually unlocked.
  • Fixed an issue where the penalty timer applied to Mastery for dying in the Pit would still display even after the Mastery timer had expired.
  • Fixed an issue where tier 130 for The Pit in the Artificer’s list was incorrectly labeled as 131.
  • Fixed an issue where Helltide Chests in World Tiers I and II took 3 seconds to open instead of 1.5 seconds.
  • Fixed an issue where Objective markers did not display on the map when the Confront Doomsayers whisper was active.
  • Fixed an issue where the button to start the Gauntlet did not display that it is unavailable during the rotation blackout period when it rotates each week.
  • Various miscellaneous fixes and quality-of-life improvements for the Tempering, Masterworking, and Codex of Power menus.
  • [PC Only] Fixed issues with NVIDIA DLSS Frame Generation, a setting available to players with NVIDIA 4000 series graphics cards, which was temporarily disabled due to stability issues. These issues have been fixed, and the setting has been re-enabled.

Gameplay

Helltide

  • Fixed an issue where Hellborne enemies that despawned after Player death would drop loot.
  • Fixed an issue where Helltide Zealots could spawn underground.
  • Fixed an issue where Screaming Hell Veins could be looted multiple times when in a party.
  • Fixed an issue where Aberrant Cinders did not reset when logging back in to an active Helltide with a character that previously had Cinders.
  • Fixed an issue where the damaging effect from Spires of Corruption did not match the visual effect.
  • Fixed an issue where Trembling Mass enemies could infinitely respawn.
  • Fixed an issue where enemies during the Waves of Darkness could engage and chase nearby Iron Wolves, which made earning mastery for the Event more difficult.
  • Fixed an issue where Hellborne Disciples spawned during a Blood Maiden Encounter counted towards the Cull Hellborne Whisper Objective.

Developer’s Note: The Hellborne Disciples that spawn while fighting the Blood Maiden do not count as Hellborne in other contexts, such as the fact they do not drop loot like normal Hellborne. This change is to ensure these enemies are treated consistently.

  • Fixed an issue where Threat progress could become permanently locked if the player exited Helltide while Threat was near zero.
  • Fixed an issue where Hellworms could sometimes leave behind invisible walls after disappearing.

The Pit

  • Fixed an issue where Orb beams from the Den Mother could damage players before they had been released.
  • Fixed an issue where you could only interact with the Pit Obelisk if you had Rune Shards in your inventory.
  • Fixed an issue where Runeshards could drop in World Tier III Nightmare Dungeons and from the Seething Abomination in the Fields of Hatred.

Skills and Class Mechanics

  • Fixed an issue where the surge damage from Enhanced Charged Bolts was exploding too often on enemies that were stacked together (as noted previously in Game Updates).
  • Fixed an issue where the surge damage from Enhanced Charged Bolts was doing less damage than intended when using the Piercing Static Aspect.
  • Fixed an issue where the Druid Spirit Boon Overload’s damage was Physical Damage instead of Lightning damage.
  • Fixed an issue where the Aspect of the Alpha did not properly mark the Wolves skill as a Werewolf skill in-game.
  • Fixed an issue where Boulders orbiting the player from the Dolmen Stone Amulet could stop doing so indefinitely when destroyed by projectile-destroying entities, such as Suppressor Fields or monster-spawned walls.
  • Fixed an issue where Barbarian’s Bash was dealing multiplicative damage instead of additive damage when combined with the Tempering Affix that causes Bash to cleave.
  • Fixed an issue where Rapid Fire used with the Scoundrel’s Kiss Unique Ring had a further range than intended, allowing enemies to be damaged and defeated off-screen.

General

  • Fixed an issue where walls spawned by Elites with the Waller Affix could be destroyed by other monsters coming into contact with them. Hell’s Legions care little when it comes to morality, but they do not mess around with keeping Walls up to code.
  • Fixed an issue where the Head Librarian in the Sunken Library could spawn behind the locked door, which would block progression.
  • Fixed an issue where items dropped in the Cathedral of Light had a higher level requirement than they should.
  • Fixed an issue where End Game bosses, i.e. Uber Duriel, could still drop gear that was lower than Rare quality.
  • Fixed an issue where End Game bosses were dealing more damage than intended in certain scenarios.
  • Fixed an issue where a Shrine could reset after you take a teleport out of a dungeon and then re-enter.
  • Fixed an issue where Cooldown Reduction granted by the following Tempering affixes was less for higher tier recipes.
    • Defensive
      • Frost Cage
      • Nature Magic Wall
      • Barbarian Strategy
    • Utility
      • Alchemist Control
      • Daze Control
    • Resource
      • Companion Efficiency
      • Weapon Mastery Efficiency
      • Subterfuge Efficiency
    • Fixed the debuff from the Beast in Ice boss fight persisting after death and stacking unintentionally.

Miscellaneous

  • Fixed an issue where the Blood Maiden’s Mantle Trophy cosmetic dropped by the Blood Maiden didn’t function properly.
  • Fixed an issue where the Leave Dungeon animation would play but the actual portal would stop if the portal was started while moving.
  • Fixed an issue where Andariel’s rotating laser was invisible when VFX quality was set to low.
  • Fixed an issue where taking a Town Portal right after killing the Blood Maiden during the Voice of the Night quest could block quest progression.
  • Fixed an issue where some Legacy items had their affixes re-rolled during Seasonal migration.

Developer’s Note: The intention of the change is that all stats on items should either be completely restored to what they were, or get the maximum stats if the previous values were unavailable.

  • Fixed an issue where killing Echo of Lilith did not reward a Resplendent Spark.

Developer’s Note: Anyone who has killed Echo of Lilith in any season will receive a Resplendent Spark this season. In future seasons, you will have to defeat her again to get one. This implementation is to retroactively reward players who have defeated Echo of Lilith this season, but did not receive a Resplendent Spark. For players that have yet to defeat Echo of Lilith this season, defeating her will still grant you a Resplendent Spark.

  • Various UI, visual, audio, stability, and performance improvements.

Once Blizzard releases the Diablo 4 patch is out on May 28, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

New Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Rewards and Map This Week May 24

Destiny‘s Trials of Osiris weekly PvP mode has returned this Friday with a new map and rewards. If you’re wondering about the current rotation, we’ve got you covered: MP1st’s new Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris rewards and map this week May 24, 2024 post lists down all that information in full below.

New Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Rewards This Week May 24, 2024:

Trials of Osiris Map:

Dissonance

Flawless Reward:

Igneous Hammer (Hand Cannon)

Reputation System, Trials Engrams, and Adept Farming

Win individual rounds within each match to gain Trials reputation. The amount of reputation you gain increases with each round you’ve won on your card. Earn enough reputation, and you’ll be able to claim a Trials Engram from Saint-14! This engram can be focused into any currently available trials loot you have previously obtained, or it can be taken to Master Rahool for a random Trials drop. Your reputation increases after every match completion, based on the number of round-wins on your card, regardless of the result of that match itself (win or lose, 0-5 or 5-4).

Once you have gone Flawless, keep playing! Every win you achieve while at the 7-win level, even if you lose your Flawless, has a chance to drop bonus Trials Engrams, adept weapons, prisms, and even Ascendant Shards. There is no penalty for losing once you’ve made it to the Lighthouse!

When you’re done, you can cash in your 7-win passage for one additional adept drop, granted you have gone Flawless that week. This resets your card so you can start anew.

Report: New Astro Bot Game for PS5 to Be Announced in Next 15 Days

It’s been rumored previously that Sony was going to host a PlayStation event or something this month, and while the company hasn’t announced anything just yet, some bits of info on what could be part of it has surfaced online, and it seems to be a new Astro Bot game for PS5 (not PSVR2).

The news comes from reliable insider billbil-kun posting on French website Dealabs who mentioned that the game is expected to be announced in the next 15 days. In addition to that, the game might simply be titled “Astro,” and part of the game is set in a desert environment, and one of the new characters is a “fennec fox in the form of a robot.” There is no release date that they know of just yet, but from what billbil-kun believes, it’s headed to PS5 and not PlayStation VR2. If true, this is a major departure from the last Astro game Sony has released, which is Astro’s Playroom that was a tech demo of sorts released for the PSVR2 and developed by Team Asobi.

Chances are, if we do get a PlayStation event this month, this new Astro game for PS5 will be part of the announcements.

XboxEra writer and known leaker Shpeshal_Nick has mentioned on Twitter that there is a PlayStation show set around the 28th.

Of course, this new Astro game and even the purported PlayStation show have not been confirmed by Sony, so as such, treat these with a grain of salt for now. Having said that, billbil-kun has been very spot-on in his leaks and insider info, so we expect this one to be the real deal as well.

XDefiant Update 1.000.008 Patch Notes Lists Netcode Fixes and More for May 24

Ubisoft has released the first XDefiant post-release patch, and it includes netcode fixes. which I’m sure will be appreciated by the community. While there are no gameplay balancing changes, there’s quite a few technical issues listed in the XDefiant update 1.000.008 patch notes for May 24.

XDefiant Update 1.000.008 Patch Notes for May 24:

Download Size: 1.22GB (PS5)

Game Modes

  • Sometimes players loading into the Practice Zone would spawn outside the world, in a hellscape, and now they (probably) will not.

Devices

  • Fixed an issue where if the player died during the device deployment animation, their next deployed device would drop at their feet rather than be thrown as intended.

Netcode

  • That issue where you’d get hitmarkers on an enemy as they killed you, but their health bar still appeared full to you? The health bar display was wrong – you did damage them. Should be fixed now.

Localization

  • Fixed an issue where end-of-match UI text would display with the wrong orientation in Arabic.

Miscellaneous

  • We’ve turned the Practice Zone back on but it’s possible weird things could still happen.
  • Fixed an issue that was causing low framerates with some AMD GPUs.

In addition to the fixes, once the servers are back up, players can expect double XP on weapons for a limited time.

MP1st will have more XDefiant coverage in the coming days and weeks. Expect gun guides, news and more.

Devices

  • Fixed an issue where if the player died during the device deployment animation, their next deployed device would drop at their feet rather than be thrown as intended.

Stellar Blade Update 1.003 Patch Notes:

Highlights:

  • Added a new ‘Boss Challenge’ mode. Replay against defeated bosses in multiple settings.
  • Unlock a new costume ‘Neurolink Suit’ by defeating all bosses in the new ‘Boss Challenge’ mode.
  • Two new outfits from the “Kunoichi” series can be obtained at Adam’s safehouse.
  • Fixed bugs such as unplayable sections, events not triggering, and trophies not being awarded.
  • Added an auto-lock-on option when exiting ranged mode.
  • Added option to always show the compass in HUD.
  • Slightly increased the time limit for puzzles.
  • Many other improvements have been made to the controls, balance, and more.

BOSS CHALLENGE MODE:

Pits players against 19 bosses from the base game

Progression in Boss Challenge requires battle data from bosses you’ve previously defeated. Players can also fight bosses on Hard difficulty after you’ve seen the ending of the game.

Players can start the challenge by either loading up and using their own gear, or choose one of sevewral presets. You can even choose the minimum preset for a true challenge. On the maximum preset which has all all Eve’s skills and stats buffed up, players can expect an easier time, which is perfect for pulling of awesome combos.

Once the challenge is done, the battle data is analyzed which will give players metrics on how they did. You’ll see battle time, number of perfect parries, dodges, consumable usage and more.

Boss Challenge Reward:

For players who defeat all the bosses on Normal difficulty or higher, you’ll get the Neurolink Suit for Eve.

There are also new Nano Suits added: White Kunoichi and Black Kunoichi.

QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS:

  • Switching to ranged attack mode and switch back while locked on to an enemy, players will automatically lock on to the enemy again
  • Option to always show the compass in the HUD has been added.

That’s about it for this title update. Expect more title updates in the future alongside IP collaborations, as Shift Up has confirmed this along with a PC version.

Fortnite Ch5 S3 Update for Version 1.000.138 Released This May 24

Fortnite’s Ch5 S3 (Chapter 5 Season 3) title update is now live across all platforms this May 24! Players can expect new items to be put in play alongside a new Battle Pass and more. For console gamers, this will show up as Fortnite update 1.000.138, and we have the full list of new content available below.

Note that this is a larger download than usual, so prepare your device accordingly.

Fortnite Ch5 S3 Update Patch Notes for Version 1.000.138:

WELCOME TO THE WASTELAND

A ferocious sandstorm recently moved over the Island, creating a new biome in the south dubbed the wasteland. The “Wasteland Warriors” have already called shotgun on owning the place. (They did ride in with the sandstorm, after all.) This crew moves as fast as their decked-out cars, proven by the places they’ve already established:

REDLINE RIG

Fortnite Redline Rig

Redline Rig is a Nitro refinery run by The Machinist, the Wasteland Warriors’ master mechanic. What’s Nitro? Whether you’re in a car or not, Nitro will make you feel irrepressibly powerful…

NITRODROME

Fortnite Nitrodrome

Nobody knows chaos and destruction more than Ringmaster Scarr, so it makes sense she’s the master of ceremonies at the circus of car spectacle: the Nitrodrome.

BRUTAL BEACHHEAD

Fortnite Brutal Beachhead

Brutal Beachhead is the base of operations for the Wasteland Warriors. Here, you can find none other than the Wasteland Warriors’ master muscle Megalo Don. Be warned: it doesn’t take long for his rage to surface.

There’s more to discover in the wasteland, including a Snooty Steppes turned Sandy Steppes.

GO NITRO

Across the Island you may find Nitro Splash or Nitro Barrels — both shipped from Redline Rig. Nitro Splash is a portable Nitro container you can throw down to infuse your car (or yourself) with Nitro. Nitro Barrels are Nitro containers that Nitro-fy on contact.

Propelled by the steam inside, Nitro Barrels will fly off when you hit them… then explode on landing. Drive away without looking back!

Fortnite Nitro Splash and Nitro Barrel

Nitro’s nitro typical perk. In this temporary state, expect the following advantages:

NITRO-FIED CAR

  • Driving speed increase
  • Explosive ramming power that deals damage and knockback (must be driving at a sufficient speed)
  • Fuel consumption decrease
  • Buff to attached attack mods

NITRO-FIED PLAYER

  • Movement speed increase
  • Explosive bashing power that deals damage and knockback… Bust through builds! (must be moving at a sufficient speed)
  • Stamina consumption decrease (Sprint longer!)
  • Reload speed increase
  • Fall damage immunity

PACK A PUNCH WITH NITRO FISTS

Fortnite Nitro Fists

When you’re ready for the heavy-handed approach, put on Nitro Fists to perform a 3x punch combo, uppercut, or an aerial punch that dashes you through the air!

Nitro Fists have four charges, each one recharging every eight seconds. The uppercut and aerial punch use one charge, while the 3x punch combo uses none. If you aerial punch the ground instead of the air, the impact will be meteoric to surrounding enemies.

FORTIFY YOUR RIDE

Fortnite Machine Gun Turret

Vehicle mods are back! Cow Catchers and Chonkers Off-Road Tires are unvaulted, while four new mods are joining the ride. Attach one of these mods per slot:

  • Machine Gun Turret (roof slot): Have a passenger fire a machine gun while someone else drives!
  • Grenade Launcher Turret (roof slot): Some would call this littering, but the Grenades will get rid of themselves by exploding.
  • Spiked Bumper (front bumper slot): Deal more damage to players and objects on impact.
  • Cow Catcher (front bumper slot): Boost your ramming power and give your car some defensive armor.
  • Bulletproof Tires (tires slot): Tired of tire poppers? Make your tires indestructible!
  • Chonkers Off-Road Tires (tires slot): Make your car more off-road friendly. Especially useful if you’re not driving an SUV!

Fortnite Cow Catcher and Off-Road Tires

No mechanical experience is required — just hit a Vehicle Mod Box with your car to attach the mod. You’ll know which mod you’re attaching based on the symbol on the box! Already have something in a slot? You can replace the mod with a different one, or a brand new version of the existing one! You may want to replace a mod if its Health bar is getting low. (Note: the Bulletproof Tires don’t have Health, since they’re indestructible.)

Fortnite Vehicle Mod Box

A Vehicle Mod Box containing a Grenade Launcher Turret.

Is the Health of your car itself low? Hit a Repair Box or take matters into your own hands with the unvaulted Repair Torch!

Fortnite Repair Torch

A Repair Torch can also fix a popped tire or broken window.

Get a taste of the future on your next pit stop. Service Stations have replaced gas pumps, refilling your car’s gas and Health while parked on the station pad!

FURBISH YOUR RIDE

Starting in Chapter 5 Season 1, you’ve been able to turn Sports Cars on the Island into your equipped Car. Now, you can do the same with SUVs! There will be certain Car Bodies in the Shop compatible with SUVs instead of Sports Cars. Also, select SUV Car Bodies from Rocket League will become cross-game eligible in the future.

Fortnite Behemoth

The Behemoth Car Body.

To start things off, the Behemoth Bundle is in the Shop, containing items from the new Wastelander Set. Look right at home in the wasteland!

The Behemoth Bundle includes:

  • Behemoth Car Body
  • Flames Behemoth Decal
  • Lightning Behemoth Decal
  • Stripes Behemoth Decal
  • Wings Behemoth Decal
  • Behemoth Blackout Decal
  • Behemoth Dune Hunter Decal
  • Behemoth Offroad Wheels* (has 12 paint colors)
  • Behemoth Blackout Wheels

Split between showing off a Sports Car or SUV in the Nitrodrome? In the Locker, you’ll have separate loadouts for both! The Behemoth Bundle items will be eligible for cross-game ownership with Rocket League at a later date.

*The Behemoth Offroad Wheels aren’t any better at offroading than other Wheels. They just look the part!

LOSE THE BATTLE BUS, WIN THE WAR BUS

Fortnite War Bus

After being dropped from the Battle Bus, fight for control of a coveted War Bus. There are two being driven by patrollers on the Island — hijack one and start a road trip of disarray! Each War Bus comes rigged with two cannons on top and a horn that produces an EMP pulse. (EMP does damage to nearby enemy Shields, and temporarily disables surrounding vehicles.) These monster mobiles hold multiple EMP pulses that each recharge after a short time!

CREATE A ROADBLOCK WITH A BOOM BOLT

Fortnite Boom Bolt

Cars aren’t unconquerable. When you’re in a jam (traffic or otherwise), break out a Boom Bolt, a fast-firing moddable crossbow that shoots explosive bolts. After a few good hits on a Whiplash, it’ll be totalled enough to cause a traffic back-up all the way from Reckless Railways to The Underworld (if people actually wanted to spend time in the abyss willingly).

WRENCH WRETCHES

The Wasteland Warriors can either be found in their individual lairs or showboating in a convoy. If you can engineer a way to beat them, a trunkload of rewards await…

EXTERMINATE THE MACHINIST

Fortnite The Machinist

Upon being eliminated, The Machinist will drop her Medallion. The Machinist’s Medallion will regenerate your Shield over time!

If you defeat her inside Redline Rig, use this Medallion to open the garage holding her car. If she’s in a convoy, you’ll have to seize her modded-up automobile by force! Wherever you defeat her, you’ll also get a Mythic weapon: The Machinist’s Combat Assault Rifle.

CONQUER RINGMASTER SCARR

Fortnite Ringmaster Scarr

Putting an end to Ringmaster Scarr’s show? Her Medallion will drop after elimination. Ringmaster Scarr’s Medallion will give you infinite ammo and a small damage buff!

Defeat Ringmaster Scarr at the Nitrodrome to open the garage hiding her car. Is she in a convoy? Defeat her there to capture her kitted-out ride! With her preference for extravagance, she’ll drop the Mythic Ringmaster’s Boom Bolt on elimination too.

OVERWHELM MEGALO DON

Fortnite Megalo Don

So you’re going straight to the top. Megalo Don’s Medallion will infuse you with infinite Nitro!

The Nitro doesn’t stop there. Yes — defeating Megalo Don means you can steal his ride like the other Wasteland Warriors’ — but it also means you can get the Mythic Megalo Don’s Nitro Fists!

Speaking of infinite Nitro, all three of the Warriors’ cars have infinite Nitro.

🛑 Medallions put you on the map… which is helpful for anyone on a roadtrip to take you down. If you have a Medallion in your inventory, you’ll be marked on opponents’ map, and the more Medallions you have, the more precise the radius of your exact location.

ZAP THAT THIRST WITH NUKA-COLA!

Fortnite Nuka-Cola

Fortnite Update 4.26 for Chapter 5 Season 3, Patch Notes and Datamined Content Listed

The next major update for Fortnite is now live! As part of today’s maintenance, Epic Games has pushed out Fortnite update 4.26, which is for Chapter 5 Season 3 “Wrecked!” Read on for the patch notes, new content, and datamined items from reliable miners for May 24 below.

Fortnite Update 4.26 for Chapter 5 Season 3 Patch Notes:

The wasteland is a pretty apocalyptic place… like there was some kind of falling out. Indulge yourself in these trying times with a nice cold bottle of Nuka-Cola! Restore a bit of Health, and over time, some Shield 👍

KIND CACTI

Fortnite Slurp Cactus

Remember: it’s not the wasteland itself that’s oppressive — it’s the infamous Warriors. Pickaxe a Slurp Cactus to splash healing cactus fruit around you! Don’t want to get out of your car? Drive through the cactus to heal yourself AND your vehicle.

OLD WEAPONS AREN’T A WASTE

Don’t even try to keep that new car smell. Unvaulted and carried-over weapons are at your disposal for the start of Chapter 5 Season 3:

  • Cerberus’ Gatekeeper Shotgun
  • Combat Shotgun
  • Gatekeeper Shotgun
  • Hammer Pump Shotgun
  • Oscar’s Frenzy Auto Shotgun (wait… Oscar?)
  • Warforged Assault Rifle
  • Tactical Assault Rifle
    • Balance changes:
      • Increased damage at long distances.
      • Reduced recoil.
      • Reduced bullet spread.

      • Increased damage.
      • Increased fire rate.
      • Increased critical hit multiplier.

  • Ranger Pistol
  • Hand Cannon
    • Balance changes:
      • Increased damage at long distances.
      • Increased projectile speed.
  • Shockwave Grenade (technically not a weapon)

MOBILE HUD IMPROVEMENTS

Playing Chapter 5 Season 3 on mobile? We’ve improved the mobile HUD in Battle Royale so it’s easier to see the action on your screen! We combined buttons so that there are fewer, and we also repositioned icons.

These changes won’t apply to mobile players with a custom HUD, and they won’t take away the ability to create a custom HUD.
