Battlefield 2042 Season 1 Will Only Feature 1 New Map; BF Portal Weapons Planned to Be Added in All-Out Warfare

For Battlefield 2042 players looking forward to new maps to play in come Season 1, you’ll be getting something new alright, but it will be just one map, as DICE has confirmed that Battlefield 2042 Season 1 will feature one new map.

This was confirmed by Battlefield Community Manager Straatford87 when he answered a fan’s query on whether DICE Senior Producer Ryan McArthur meant S1 map or S1 mapS (which meant plural) in the latest Battlefield Briefing video. Here’s Straatford87’s response over on the EA Answers forums:

While that is a bit of a bummer, there is some good news as DICE has also confirmed that some of the classic weapons in Battlefield Portal are planned to be added in BF2042’s All-Out Warfare (the core game modes)!

Outside of a new map in Season 1, we’ll also see a new Specialist, the launch of the game’s Battle Pass and more! Check out a preview of the incoming map changes, as well as some of the improvements coming to Season 1 right here.

While there are other content included in Season 1, the fact that gamers had to wait more than eight months and all we’re getting is one new map is a bit of a downer. Let’s hope there’s more content planned soon, and we’ll see a regular cadence of release once Season 1 kicks off in early June.

Marvel MMO Project at Daybreak Games Canceled

EG7, the development and publishing house behind The Lord of the Rings Online and DC Universe Online, has announced that it is canceling the Marvel Comics MMO they had been working on in favor of putting those resources towards their existing MMO’s as well as smaller unannounced projects.

The Swedish company had projected a budget of around SEK 500 Million (approximately $50,676,000 USD) for the Marvel project. They do not say exactly what caused the reassessment that led to this shuffle but it is easy to speculate that the difficulties that Square Enix has had with their Avengers Live Service game that released two years ago have contributed to market squeamishness around similar projects.

No word yet on what smaller IPs or original properties this might end up supporting but they do explicitly say that the previously mentioned The Lord of the Rings Online and DC Universe Online will be directly affected as a portion of the money is going to help support major updates for those games.

If anything else should develop or if EG7 decides to announce any currently under wraps projects we will be there reporting on it!

Rogue Company Juke Introduced as Newest Rogue; Check Out the New Trailer

First Watch Games has introduced their newest Rogue, with Juke coming to Rogue Company as the 25th entry in an update releasing this June! The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer which you can check out below.

The newest Rogue, Juke, is the woman responsible for the creation of the world’s first true Artificial Intelligence. A brilliant scientist and engineer with multiple PHD’s, Juke worked for Furmi.62, but joined Rogue Company in search of answers after her life’s work was destroyed at Furmi.62’s SCION facility. Play as Juke in the Operation: Daybreak Update!

Juke’s arrival with Operation: Daybreak also signifies the end of the game’s open beta period. Here’s the official announcement from First Watch Games:

Since entering Open Beta, we’ve spent the last year and nine months continuing to improve Rogue Company alongside our community, adding features like Rogue Mastery, Weapon Mastery, Next Gen Native Versions, a Steam release, Monthly Login Bonuses, Human Backfill, Narrative Events, and MVP. We’ve brought collaborations with Dr. DisRespect and Rambo, new modes like Battle Zone and Dodgeball, and so much more.

Our work is not done. But we’ve come a long way. We’ve added 9 Rogues, 7 Maps, 9 Weapons, and 12 game modes since Beta went live. And Rogue Company is finally in a place where we think it can hold its own.

We’re excited to announce that we’ve reached the end of our Beta and will enter into our full release with our next update. This beefy update will feature a new Rogue, a new Season, and some sweet new features that you’ll hear more about in our update show.

There’s much more to come this year (including a fantastic crossover that we can’t tell you about just yet). But also expect us to change how we approach updates to Rogue Company, focusing less on major new features and more on adding strong content, continually improving quality, and addressing key community concerns.

As always, stay tuned here at MP1st for the complete patch notes once Operation: Daybreak goes live in Rogue Company this June!

Halo Infinite May 25 Update Out for Lone Wolves Fixes, Here Are the Patch Notes

343 Industries has released the Halo Infinite May 25 update today, and this one adds a bunch of fixes for the Lone Wolves Season. Check out the full Halo Infinite May 25 update patch notes below.

Halo Infinite May 25 Update Patch Notes:

Resolved Issues

The following changes were made in the May 25, 2022 patch. Many of these changes were based on community feedback and Halo Support tickets. For more information on the development of this patch, view the Season 2 May Update on the Halo Waypoint Forums.

Multiplayer

  • Various skill jumps that relied on small props or thin ledges have been restored to the following maps:
    • Aquarius
    • Bazaar
    • Live Fire
    • Streets
  • Semi-automatic weapons, like the Battle Rifle, should no longer “jam” or fail to fire after continuous firing.
  • Wasps on the map Highpower will now only respawn two minutes after being destroyed.
  • The Overshield will now be available at the start of matches on the map Bazaar.
  • Zones in Total Control, Land Grab, and King of the Hill should no longer enter a state in which neither team is able to capture it.
  • Fireteam members in Big Team Battle (BTB) matches will have the selected Fireteam Marker color.
  • Scorpion Tanks and Wraiths will be dropped off by Pelicans more frequently in BTB matches.
  • Join in progress rules have been improved so players are less likely to enter matchmaking sessions that are nearly complete.
  • The Rakshasa armor core no longer appears incorrectly in the Customize menus after setting the Body Type option to 1 or 2.

Campaign

  • The “tank gun” glitch in the Outpost Tremonius mission has been restored.
  • Collecting Spartan Cores now consistently increases the amount of available Equipment Points in the TacMap.
    • Prior to the Season 2 update on May 3rd, Campaign had a bug in which Equipment upgrades deducted less Spartan Cores than required. For example, an upgrade that was supposed to cost 3 Spartan Cores would only deduct 1. This bug never deducted more Spartan Cores than needed so players sometimes ended up with “extra” Spartan Cores. The Season 2 update was unintentionally removing “extra” Spartan Cores from players upon picking up new ones. This fix will allow players to keep “extra” Spartan Cores rather than correcting them.

Global

  • Changes to the Speed Lines option in the Video tab of the Settings menu are now reflected in-game.
  • A recent Gaming Services update improved the stability of the Microsoft Store and Xbox app versions of Halo Infinite on PC. This update was released on May 11th, and may have been automatically installed. Follow the steps below to manually install or check your version number.
    1. Open the Microsoft Store app.
    2. Select the Library button in the bottom left corner of the app.
    3. Updates will be listed at the top of the Library and additional updates may be found when using the Get Updates button.
    4. When the update is installed or if Gaming Services is already listed in the list of recently modified applications, click on Gaming Services to open its page.
    5. Scroll down to the bottom of the Gaming Services page to check the installed version number. This number should be 3.65.8001.0 or higher.

Download size

  • Update only (all platforms): approximately 2 GB or less.

That’s it for this patch. Stay tuned here at MP1st for more!

Report – TV Manufacturer TCL Says a PS5 Pro and a New Xbox Series are Launching Between 2023-2024

Take this news with a heavy grain of salt, but it would appear that the TV manufacture, TCL may know something about upcoming console revisions for the PS5 and Xbox Series as it has been revealed by them that a PS5 Pro and new Xbox Series are in the works, and are slated to release sometimes between 2023 and 2024.

The report comes from news Polish outlet, PPE, who had a correspondent attend an event hosted by TCL to discuss their latest TVs as well as future plans. During the presentation, the company unexpectedly revealed that gen 9 (PS5 and Xbox Series) would be getting a mid-gen refresh, enabling the consoles to support native 4K with frame-rates between 60 and 120fps, as well as 8K support. The difference is noted that the company lists the current consoles as “1440p/60-120fps rendered at UHD” while the mid-refresh would be “2160P/60-120fps rendered at UHD-8K.” That’s a significant jump in rendering power, as it suggests that not only will games be able to run at 8K, but that 4K would be a standard with 60fps.

It’s been rumored for sometime now that both Microsoft and Sony are working on new console revisions, some stating that they are simply slim models, while others saying that they would be similar the the revisions done last gen where we saw the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. Of course those are rumored, and as noted, take this report with a huge grain of salt. If the PS5 Pro and new Xbox Series consoles are indeed real, don’t expect to hear about them officially anytime this year.

Official Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 Reloaded Patch Notes for Classified Arms Fires Out

While Season 3 Reloaded hasn’t officially started yet for Call of Duty Warzone, Raven Software has released the full Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 Reloaded patch notes! There are changes to footsteps audio, perks, weapons and tons more!

Call of Duty Warzone Season 3 Reloaded Patch Notes | Call of Duty Warzone Classified Arms Reloaded Patch Notes:

Size: 5GB (PlayStation)

Update: Raven Software has released the official patch notes and there’s a TON to take in!

MODES

Image of Operators in combat on Caldera

Champion of Caldera

This year could arguably be a strong one for Warzone solo players, with Rebirth Resurgence Solos being a fast-paced variant of the traditional Battle Royale free-for-all, and Caldera Clash being an awesome way to level up Weapons.

With Classified Arms Reloaded, Solo players will get another high-intensity limited-time mode and – as the name suggests – fight to become the Champion of Caldera.

This mode will feature 150 maximum Players and a single, continuously closing circle in a Battle Royale-style fight for survival.

All Operators will drop in with their Custom Loadout, a Gas Mask, and a single Redeploy Extraction Token. The item pool is slightly altered to emphasize equipment not normally found in Loadouts and rare Weapons. Collect Cash to visit an upgraded Buy Station, which features the Advanced UAV and even the Specialist Bonus for a hefty fee.

Most notably: kills in this game mode immediately refill player Health, Equipment, and Ammunition, incentivizing would-be Champions to play aggressively and eliminate the competition directly to have the best chance at victory.

GAMEPLAY

Before we jump into the many changes outlined below, we want to share the key pillars that we have focused on for the Season Three Reloaded update. We believe this will help Players understand the design intentions behind all of the changes and how they add up to cohesively improve the core Warzone gameplay loop over the season ahead.

Each of the gameplay changes can be separated into 3 core areas of focus, with an overall emphasis on improved reasons to loot in the mid-game and creating new Player stories:

  • More Counters: There are still some very powerful mechanics in Warzone and we need to provide counterplay measures to each gameplay loop for more interesting engagements.
  • More Movement: Player rotation opportunities are core to the Warzone experience and we see how much our Players love advanced movement techniques so have expanded this into new avenues.
  • More Playtime: Simply put; more time playing, less time spectating. Warzone has always been a leader in second chance mechanics and we wanted to further develop this aspect of Warzone to improve the chances of a successful mid-to-late game regain.

We fully expect this update to influence how our Players experience Warzone in a positive way. We are excited to see the new stories emerge from the community in the weeks and months to come. And, as always, we will be monitoring closely for feedback and finetune where necessary.

COUNTERPLAY

  • New Perk “Serpentine”
    • Reduces incoming damage if the Player is sprinting.

We are bringing in this new Perk from Vanguard that some of our Players may already be familiar with. Our internal playtests highlighted the counter to ranged engagements especially in large open spaces while still beneficial in smaller spaces. Serpentine creates a buffer between finding cover and it provides a boon to Players that rotate often in their engagements. The attacking Player receives clear feedback that their target countered their incoming shots with a Serpentine icon being displayed.

  • New Lootable Perks | All Maps & Modes
    • Serpentine
    • Tune Up
    • Tracker
    • Hardline
    • Kill Chain
    • E.O.D.

We have been really happy with the response to Perk Satchels being added to ground loot so we have expanded the list, alongside the inclusion of the new “Serpentine” Perk. We’re also bringing all of them to Rebirth Island.

  • New Field Upgrade “Radar Jammer” | All Maps & Modes
    • Players can deploy this Field Upgrade to scramble the Tac Map of enemy Players and prevent airborne Killstreaks from being used in the localized area.
    • Has an effective radius of 125 meters
    • Effect lasts for 45 seconds
    • Susceptible to being hacked by a Player with an Engineer Perk
    • Can be attached to vehicles to become mobile
  • New Lootable Loadout Drop Markers | Caldera Modes
    • Ground loot now includes a rare chance to spawn a Loadout Drop Marker

Once Players have been to the Gulag, it can often be challenging to get back into rotation to stand a chance of going on to win. We wanted to give Players that rare chance of striking it lucky and finding a way to counter a previous loss that gets them back into the game.

MOVEMENT

  • High Value Loot Zones | Caldera Modes
    • These zones are represented on the Tac Map by a very appropriate “$” sign and will provide the best looting opportunities.

We’ve enjoyed seeing how the addition of this new system has pulled Players into landing at POIs they otherwise wouldn’t have planned to land – so it is now available in Battle Royale game modes. We expect this to be a popular feature, both for promoting early engagement opportunities as well as late-game restock opportunities.

  • New Underground Transit System | Caldera Modes
    • New fast travel system with 14 access points, indicated on the Tac Map and minimap by a silver “vault door” symbol.
    • A lighting system will provide intel and help navigate Player decisions.

Warzone has had several Fast Travel systems over its lifetime, everything from Subways to Red Doors. With this new Underground Transit System on Caldera, we have leveraged all the learnings from the previous experiences to create what we believe to be the ultimate method for moving around Caldera quickly.

  • New Lootable “Speed Boost” Power-Up | Caldera Modes
    • Grants Players a considerable increase in movement speed.

We’ve added the Speed Boost Power-Up from Clash into core Battle Royale, as we liked the advanced movement plays that it enables. Just like in Clash, this powerup is activated immediately on pickup so use this temporary speed boost wisely.

  • New “Occupation Scan” Public Event | Rebirth Island Modes (Except Blood Money & Payload)
    • Any Players standing or crouching while the scan takes place will have their location exposed on the Tac Map for all to see. Players will be informed to go prone prior to the sweep.

Movement represents an opportunity for memorable engagements and encounters. With “Occupation Scan”, we wanted to develop a Public Event where movement – or lack thereof – is core to the experience. This Public Event really brings Lethals and Tacticals like Gas Grenades and Molotovs into consideration – you can use them to flush enemies out of hiding to expose them on the Map.

  • Increased Downed Movement Speed | All Maps & Modes
    • Increased the speed at which a Player moves while in the downed state.

We felt the downed movement speed needed a review, primarily to allow Players who get downed a chance to get themselves to a safer space to allow for a revive. This is a small change on the surface that has allowed for more interesting outcomes during internal playtests.

  • Stim Adjustments | All Maps & Modes In-Season
    • Slide modifier has been reduced
      • The slide modifier was simply too extreme. While we believe that sliding movement should be buffed when a Player is using a Stim, it still needs to fit within limits.
    • Added a Weapon damage (received) interruption effect
      • If a Player receives Weapon damage, the healing effect will be interrupted. The previous mechanic allowed Players to repeatedly heal themselves while actively taking damage – which is not the intent of this tool.

We have enjoyed watching the recent shift in the use of Tacticals where Stims have become more commonplace and offer new, high-skill plays. That said, the above are two areas where we have felt it necessary to finetune the balance.

PLAYTIME

  • New Lootable “Gulag Entry” Token | Caldera Battle Royale Modes
    • This new lootable token allows Players to reenter the Gulag upon death.
    • When the Gulag closes, Players will be rewarded with cash if they still hold a token.
    • Per the normal Battle Royale rules, Players will still start each match with a single Gulag Entry token in their inventory.
    • Players can only carry one of these tokens at a time.

We’ve really enjoyed seeing the response to our recent “infinite Gulag” LTM’s and wanted to bring an element of this across to core Battle Royale.

  • New Lootable “Redeploy Extraction” Token | Caldera Battle Royale Modes
    • This item allows a Player, upon death, to skip the Gulag and redeploy after a short countdown.
    • If the Player still has their original Gulag Entry from the match start, they will retain it.
    • When the Gulag closes, Players will be rewarded with cash if they still hold a token.
    • Players below a redeploying enemy will be notified.
    • Players can only carry one of these tokens at a time.

Similarly to the “Gulag Entry” token, we felt there was an opportunity for an additional rare item that allows redeployment on death – and that’s the role that the new ground loot item, “Redeploy Extraction” fills.

  • Increased Lootable Self-Revives Caldera Battle Royale Modes
    • The spawn rate of lootable Self-Revive tokens has been increased.

Upon review we felt that Self-Revives were too rare in ground loot for something so easily and readily available in Buy Stations so their chance of ground loot availability has been increased.

  • Player Count Adjustment | Caldera Battle Royale Modes
    • Reduced total Player count per match to 120

With the addition of new second-chance mechanics, we are very conscious of making sure the mid-game doesn’t feel unfairly claustrophobic compared to the current Battle Royale pacing. We will therefore be trialing a slightly reduced Player count across all core Battle Royale squad sizes. We will be carefully reviewing sentiment and data to make sure that the engagement pacing remains more or less in line with the current experience and that Players can still pursue new personal records.

  • Decreased Buyback Cost All Maps & Modes
    • Decreased Buyback cost to $3,000, down from $4,000

We want to support Players being able to get back into the game. We felt that $4,000 was an often unattainable cost, especially at $12,000 for a full squad in Quads. This slight reduction should provide more chances for Players to more readily get back to a full squad.

  • Death Tax Adjustment | All Maps & Modes (Except Plunder)
    • Adjusted the tax upon death from 80:20 to 50:50

Upon review, the death tax felt overly punishing, as well as making it tougher for Players to track how much cash they’d still have when returning from the Gulag. We are going to trial this new 50:50 split and carefully monitor the impact it has on the global cash economy.

QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVEMENTS

  • Expanded Squad HUD
    • New HUD elements include:
    • Total Squad Cash
      • An icon will appear if a Squad can afford a Loadout Drop
      • An icon will appear when Player Buyback costs are met
    • Armor Plate counter for each Squad member
      • For those times when your mates tell you they have “no plates left”… 👀
    • Possession icons for:
      • Gas Mask
      • Kill Streak
      • Self-Revive
      • Keycards
      • Gulag Entry Token
      • Redeploy Extraction Token

We have been quietly working away on this change for a while and we are happy to finally be taking the wrapping off it! Players will now find a wealth of extra information on their Squads inventory to better inform of what you and your squad are carrying. Not only do we feel that this is a great QoL feature but it also supports cognitive accessibility.

  • Improved Footstep Audio
    • The team has completed a reprioritization pass of NPC footstep audio relative to other crucial gameplay sounds to prevent voice culling of NPC footsteps.
  • Ranged Weapon Melee Damage Reduced
    • Gunbutting now requires 4 successive hits to eliminate a target, up from 3.
    • Pistols require 4 hits on a target with 250 health.

The power of Weapon gunbutting has often resulted in it being favored over firing the Weapon or using a dedicated melee. This change shifts the balance of power so that gunbutts are considered a last resort. We’ve also ensured that this change is replicated in the infiltration experience when not at full armor.

  • Slide Camera Lock
    • We have addressed the horizontal camera locking that would occasionally happen if a Player was sliding while navigating a slope or stairs.
  • Incoming Killstreak Warning Banner
    • Moved the banner to appear below the Weapon reticule to prevent visual obstruction.

We have observed an uptick in feedback that the Killstreak warning banner would occasionally block the Player’s line of sight during engagements. We feel the information provided here is critical to surviving an incoming Killstreak so instead of removing it entirely, we have adjusted the positioning.

  • Menu Browsing Interruption
    • Players will no longer be brought back to the front end lobby when the party host queues into matchmaking.

With this quality of life change Players can now have full agency over their UI experience regardless as to what the host is doing.

  • Buyback Player Prioritization
    • The Buy Station interface will prioritize dead Squad members by listing them first.
  • Weapon Trade Station Updated
    • Perk Satchels added to Epic, Legendary, and Fire Sale trades
  • “Ghost” Perk Adjustment
    • Reduced Player movement speed threshold required to trigger the Perk.
  • Spawn Protection Value Adjustment
    • Players with a visible shield will take 25% reduced damage
  • Armored Truck Adjusted | In-Season
    • Decreased Health
    • Decreased Turret Damage
    • Associated Sabotage Contracts are no longer available in Solo game modes

OTHER ADJUSTMENTS

    • Throwing Knife
      • Damage increased by 20%
      • Hits to the upper torso and head will one-shot down

      • Damage increased by 24.5%
    • Semtex
      • Damage increased by 5%

With each update we continue to tune and balance across the board. With health increasing we have taken the opportunity to adjust the damage on most lethals to keep them in a space where they cannot be ignored.

  • Health Increase | All Maps & Modes (Except Iron Trials)
    • Player core Health has been increased from 100 to 150 across all modes, including Private Matches (totaling 300 when factoring in Armor Plates).

We’ve seen the positive reception to the increased Player health in Battle Royale and we are now rolling this out globally across all game modes. Having a consistent core Health experience is important so that Players can develop trust in both their Weapons and their engagements as they play different modes and we are happy to now be rolling this out globally. Thank you for your feedback, which informed this change.

  • Ground Loot | All Maps & Modes
    • Adjusted to accommodate new Weapons and new builds
    • Common and Uncommon Weapons have been upgraded to feature more Attachments to enable more early game confidence in Weapons you acquire:
      • Common (white) rarity items now have 3 Attachments, up from 2
      • Uncommon (green) rarity items now have 5 Attachments, up from 4
  • Gulag Loadouts | Caldera Modes
    • Loadouts have been refreshed!

Each Weapon features more Attachments, enabling you to return to the field with a Weapon equal to a rare ground loot configuration which should help when recovering from an unfavorable position.

The NZ-41 (VG) has fallen out of favor when compared to the competition, often due to its challenging recoil pattern. We’ve adjusted the curve so that it’s more logical in its movement, allowing you to predict and compensate appropriately. We’ve also taken a look at the velocity and range bonuses provided by Attachments and made significant adjustments so that the NZ-41 (VG) can compete with the best.

Sniper Elite 5 Review – Finger on the Trigger (PS5)

Rebellion is back once again with its head-popping shooter Sniper Elite series with Sniper Elite 5! While long time series fans might know what’s in store, is this good for newcomers for the entry? Has the franchise’s bullets rusted over the years? Read on for our Sniper Elite 5 review to find out why this is an easy game to recommend to shooter fans.

A Man and His Rifle

Sniper Elite 5’s story continues with series-long protagonist, Karl Fairburne; an elite American sniper who has traveled all over the world, carrying out top secret missions. As an operative of the shadows, he has been able to carry out several missions, which have turned the tides of war in favor of the allies during World War 2. Little is known about Fairburne, though to his enemies, he is simply known as “The Shadow,” a mysterious force that haunts in the darkness, leaving utter annihilation wherever it goes.

Of course, we as the player, and the ally forces, know that Fairburne is nothing but a skilled, and resourceful man, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t the complete badass he’s been described as. And that shows very much in Sniper Elite 5, as Fairburne now finds himself aligned with the French Resistance, carrying out those critical missions that no one else dares to take.

On the gameplay side of things, Sniper Elite 5 hits all the strings that a Sniper Elite fan could hope for. While the core remains unchanged (why fix what isn’t broken?) Sniper Elite 5 does expand over its predecessors in a few ways, as the maps are massive, with plenty of opportunities given to the player to play their way. You can go in gun blazing and face off wave after wave of Nazis soldiers, or, you could lean towards the stealthier approach and live up to “The Shadow” name, using the environment to your advantage, and creating an opportunity when none seem to be presented. This provides a bit of a sandbox experience akin to, say IO Interactive’s Hitman series, though not quite as deep in terms of how you’ll go about disposing of enemies.

There are multiple paths that one could take, each having their own set of obstacles. In one level for instance, I was presented two different routes, one, while shorter, was a checkpoint that was filled to the brim of enemy soldiers and vehicles moving in and out. The other, though longer and less busier, had outposts with snipers positioned everywhere and with little cover to take. I opted for the checkpoint because I liked the challenge of playing stealth through a section that felt nearly impossible, Equipped with a silencer, I began sneaking my way through, shooting at objects such as a car engine to create distraction, as well as performing non-lethal takedowns and dumping those bodies in hiding spots in hopes that they wouldn’t be discovered.

There’s a sense of tension that developer Rebellion have continued to provide through and through in the Sniper Elite franchise, and even more in the fifth entry, as not only do players have to worry about the NPCs, but now they need to worry about the opposing threat of an invading player. Completely optional, players can turn on Invasion Mode, which is similar to that in Deathloop, and even the Souls franchise, another player can invade your game for a bit of PvP action. Again, this is completely optional, so if you don’t want to have your solo experience thwarted by another person you can turn this option off.

I found this mode to be exciting, as it added an extra layer of gameplay to the solo experience. While in most PvP experience it is typically about who has the better skills, Sniper Elite 5 had some wits to it as the Axis player can lay down traps, and even to some degree have influence over the other NPCs, while the invaded player has to be on their toes and use items around the map to help identify the invader. If you are playing in co-op, this adds an additional target for the invader to take out, as well as an added difficulty as they now need to deal with two players instead of one. It’s all good fun no matter the side you play on, and an excellent way to implement PvP multiplayer.

All in all, on the gameplay side of things, Sniper Elite 5 is a very solid experience that improves in the best ways over its previous entries. Sadly, I can’t say the same for the story itself, though in its defense, I’ve never found the Sniper Elite games to be that big on the story factor to begin with. Yeah, it comes off a bit dull to the point where it feels more tacked on, but that should be nothing new for long time players, as the gameplay has always been the strength, as well as the brutality of the kills provided from the series’ staple X-Ray cams.

Though I would argue that the game world is now something for players to look forward to, as while I don’t believe that every game should go open-world like we have seen so many before, I do think in Sniper Elite’s case, it comes off as a natural evolution. Like I mentioned before, the world of Sniper Elite is more comparable to the Hitman franchise. Not a completely open world, as each mission takes place in a large open map. It’s a playground for you to explore freely, and I have to say the maps that Rebellion have crafted are all beautifully designed.

It’s just stunning, and the design of these levels feel so well thought out. You aren’t just restricted to going down the paved path, as paths break from not only the sides, but also in verticality. Vines that have overtaken the side of the building provide alternative routes, and vaulting from one floor to another gives quickness, and ideal planning for escape routes. And seeing that we are deep in enemy territory, there are plenty of soldiers patrolling around their posts, and if you get lucky enough to take the time to observe them, you’ll notice a bit of personality to them, something even more seen when playing as an invader.

Verdict

You would think that being on the fifth mainline title (with four Dead Army spinoffs) that the series would have grown tiring, yet here I am, still impressed and still having fun. It’s core remain unchanged, sure, but the saying of, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” holds very true here, and what Rebellion delivers on, not only keeps the fundamentals of what made the franchise so great, but also keeps it in a way where they’re able to expand on it without losing its identity. While the semi-open world does have some faults, it was an appropriate step for the series to take, one that I cannot wait to see unfold further into the future.

Score: 9/10

Pros

  • Gameplay is solid, and the semi-open world design of the maps really add to it.
  • Maps designs and visuals are stunning and gorgeous. The content found inside adds life to the world.
  • X-ray cams continue to be an exciting highlight. The gore has really been amped up.
  • Co-op is easy to start-up and fun to experience with friends.
  • Invasion Mode is an excellent way of introducing PvP to solo/co-operative play

Cons

  • Dull story for those wanting a narrative driven experience.
  • Semi-open world design is a welcomed one, but invisible walls and being forced to take a path rather than allowed to vault over something can be a bit annoying.

The moment when a season character converts PEN (V) Naru gear into Tuvala gear is a crucial stepping stone of growth for our Adventurers. Thus, we decided to make that step a bit clearer to all our Adventurers. Once you succeeded in enhancing a piece of Naru gear to PEN (V), you’ll be able to access the following UI to immediately upgrade to PRI (I) Tuvala gear.

● Added a function where upon successfully enhancing to [PEN (V) Naru gear], you’ll be able to immediately convert it into [PRI (I) Tuvala gear] from the Enhancement window.

● Added Sharp Black Crystal Shard and Hard Black Crystal Shard to be obtainable from defeating Kavali and Puturum that spawn when you use Rift’s Echo.

COD Warzone Update 1.58 PlayStation Pre-Load Now Out for Season 3 Reloaded

Those on PlayStation (PS4, PS5), Raven Software has released the COD Warzone update 1.58 pre-load file, and this is for Season 3 Reloaded of Classified Arms! Check out what’s new in the COD Warzone update May 25 patch notes.

COD Warzone Update 1.58 Patch Notes | COD Warzone Update May 25 Patch Notes:

  • Lethals
    • Frag Grenade
      • Damage increased by 24.5%
    • Throwing Knife
      • Damage increased by 20%
      • Hits to the upper torso and head will one-shot down
    • Claymore
      • Damage increased by 20%
    • Proximity Mine

OPERATORS

  • Rose Skin Adjustment
    • We have made a 70% adjustment to increase the brightness of the infamous Roze outfit. With the recent lighting improvements to Caldera, it once again made her outfit out of balance with the rest of the Operator options available to Players.

Just like our Weapon balance, we are very conscious that our Operator meta plays an equally important role in the second-to-second gameplay health so this change was necessary.

Raven Software has not released the official patch notes and they won’t until later today. However, Activision has released what new content players are getting in Season 3 Reloaded!

Updates to Warzone include:
  • Mine cart underground transit system for fast travel to 14 access points
  • New Serpentine perk previously only available in Vanguard
  • Three new items to the loot pool in Battle Royale modes: the Gulag Entry Token, Redeploy Extraction Token and Speed Boost
  • New Field Upgrade – the Radar Jammer
  • New High Value Loot Zones
  • New Warzone Limited-Time Mode – fight to become the Champion of Caldera
  • And numerous quality of life updates, including a new Squad heads-up display

Warzone: Navigating Caldera’s New Mine Cart Underground Transit System

Remember that rumbling and creaking beneath Caldera’s surface before Season Three’s launch? Those were the rickety mine carts being rediscovered by intrepid explorers, who were busy opening a new way to get around the island!

Developed by Toys for Bob, this new Underground Transit System features 14 access points, indicated on the Tac Map and minimap by a silver “vault door” symbol.

Keen surveyors of Caldera during Season Two already know where seven of these access points are, as they are the “hidden” Nebula 5 bunkers. The door to the mine-cart hub room can be found right after dropping into each bunker.

The other seven access points are small hatches into the mine-cart hub area. Here, you can find a map of the system, with each hub location corresponding to a letter and number on your Tac Map. Lower numbers indicate areas to the north — for example, the hub near Arsenal is B1 — while higher numbers (e.g., B14) are hub areas near southern points of interest (e.g., Resort).

To travel via mine cart to another hub area, simply interact with the circular hatch and walk toward the cart. When doing so, the destination name will appear on your screen — you can also check the map to see how it interacts. After a few seconds of travel time, you’ll instantly appear at your destination . . . Hopefully with no enemies waiting on the other side.

New Items in Warzone — Gulag Entry, Redeploy Extraction and More

  • Gulag Entry Token – The Hold’s owners love to see good fights, apparently, as they are putting special Gulag Entry Tokens in Supply Boxes for Battle Royale matches. Developed by Raven, this token brandishes the infamous post-death symbol and binds to your Operator on pickup. Only one can be carried at a time, and if one is picked up or kept after the Gulag is closed, you’ll receive Cash compensation for holding one.
  • Redeploy Extraction Token – The other token – also developed by Raven – is something that Warzone veterans may be familiar with — a token that grants an automatic redeploy without any need to visit the Gulag or to be bought back at a Buy Station. – Just like the Gulag Entry Token, this one also deactivates once the Hold shuts down late in a match, and players who hold on to it for that long receive a Cash prize as compensation.
  • Speed Boost – This buff, often found in Warzone’sClash mode, is another rare item that could appear in a Supply Box. – Once it is picked up, it will automatically grant the Operator a temporary movement buff. Sliding while having this boost grants a quick way around the map, and it allows for a ton of potential movement techniques, such as parkour lines and jumps, which can help before or during engagements.
  • Radar Jammer – Similar to how this tool works in Call of Duty® Multiplayer, the Radar Jammer is a Field Upgrade that scrambles the TacMap of enemy players and prevents Killstreaks for anyone within a short radius. – This Field Upgrade cannot be equipped for modes such as Plunder, but can be found around the map in Supply Boxes or on the ground in rare cases.

High Value, High Stakes — New High Value Loot Zones in Warzone

First introduced during Operation Monarch, High Value Loot Zones will now appear in standard Battle Royale games as high-risk, high-reward places to drop or travel to.

Check your Tac Map or minimap to see where these areas are and decide whether to set a course for fortune and frequent fighting.

Champion of Caldera — A New Warzone Limited-Time Mode

This year could arguably be a strong one for Warzone solo players, with Rebirth Resurgence Solos being a fast-paced variant of the traditional Battle Royale free-for-all, and Caldera Clash being an awesome place to level up weapons.

With Classified Arms Reloaded, Solo players will get another high-intensity limited-time mode and – as the name suggests – fight to become the Champion of Caldera.

Launching on the first day of Classified Arms Reloaded, Champion of Caldera features 150 maximum players and a single, continuously closing circle in a Battle Royale-style fight for survival.

All Operators will drop in with their Custom Loadout, a Gas Mask, and a single Redeploy Extraction Token. The item pool is slightly altered to emphasize equipment not normally found in Loadouts and Epic- to Legendary-rarity weapons. Collect Cash to visit an upgraded Buy Station, which features the Advanced UAV, Explosive Bow, and even the Specialist Bonus for a hefty fee.

Rebirth Island Updates: Occupation Scans Active, [[REDACTED]] Protocols to Begin

Occupation Scan In-Game Event

Unbeknownst to us, upgrading the island to include radar towers gave the powers-that-be the ability to scan for hostile forces.

At some point during standard Rebirth Resurgence matches, Operators may be alerted of an Occupation Scan. At this point, they will need to go prone or else their position will be revealed to every other player on the Tac Map and minimap.

Although this effect lasts for only a short period of time, and ends early if the Operator perishes, the Occupation Scan should keep everyone even more alert on an island from which they may need to escape . . .

There are also new cosmetics on the way as well. Once the full patch notes are out, we’ll update the post accordingly. You can check out the changes made to Vanguard this Season 3 Reloaded via the patch notes released yesterday.

Update: Raven Software has released the official patch notes and we’ve updated the post with it.

After many rounds of testing, Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) will now be enabled on Steam and enforced in ranked and tournament lobbies. Players who do not want to use EAC can still disable it with the ‘-noeac’ launch parameter and can play custom matches or non-ranked game modes.

EAC is now confirmed to have no negative effect on performance as it once did in the past. Additionally, map backgrounds will still be modifiable without triggering EAC, and modifying map backgrounds will still be tournament legal.

This update also includes a new Test Feature where a player automatically performs an Aerial Heavy attack if they are out of Jumps, a new Test Feature to help better communicate when players are out of Jumps, and an update to the Dodge Cooldown Test Feature.

New Out of Jump Recovery Feature
Introducing a new feature where a player automatically performs an Aerial Heavy attack, also known as the Recovery attack, if they are out of Jumps and try to Jump! If a player still has a Recovery available when they try to Jump but are out of Jumps, the player will do a Recovery attack instead.

  • This feature is enabled by default, though it is only active when Test Features are “ON” in Custom Game lobbies or when playing in the Experimental queue.
  • Players can turn it off in their Control Settings, and that setting will be saved in the event the feature graduates from Test Features into all queues.

New Test Feature

This new feature removes the slight tint when a player is out of Jumps. This information is better communicated through the graduated Out of Recovery visual effect that includes the “sweat beads” appearing on the player.

Updated Dodge Cooldown

The previous iteration of Experimental Dodge Cooldown proved to be an overly long duration for general gameplay, and took too much power away from being grounded and having stage control. This new iteration brings down the maximum Air Dodge Cooldown slightly more, from the previous Experimental value of 2.16 seconds to a flat 2 seconds. This Air Dodge cooldown does not get reduced when landing. Dodging from the ground previously shared that 2.16 second cooldown in Experimental, but now has a flat 1 second cooldown that is identical to non-Experimental Dodges that begin on the ground. Any Chase Dodge causes a 1 second dodge cooldown, even if it is performed in the air. This grants the ability to Chase Dodge much more often and off of most any hit, while still retaining a quick Dodge cooldown that can be used to outplay your opponent. Striking an opponent will carry a similar advantage in Dodge Cooldown as maintaining ground or stage control.

  • Ground Dodge and Chase Dodges now have a 1 second cooldown.
  • Air Dodges have a 2 second cooldown, and this cooldown does not change when landing.
  • Performing a Chase Dodge after hitting another Legend grants you the same 1 second cooldown as a grounded dodge even if the Chase Dodge is performed in the air.

While general balance is locked for the Midseason Championship, this patch brings Arcadia into the tournament scene with her first round of adjustments. These changes had been previously announced to provide this information early enough for those competing in the Midseason Championship on brawlhalla.com/balance-preview and through our official esports Twitter, @ProBrawlhalla.

Arcadia

Arcadia’s Neutral Spear now has significantly greater Recover time on miss, as it was too low risk for its overall coverage. We have also reduced the Force on this attack to bring its knockout potential in line with other similar Signatures. Arcadia’s Side Spear has also received a decrease in Force to better fit its travel distance and how far it carries a target before knocking them away.

  • Arcadia Neutral Spear: Increased total Recover time on miss from 20 to 26; Decreased Force from 55 Fixed/50 Variable to 55 Fixed/48 Variable.
  • Arcadia Side Spear: Decreased Force from 50 Fixed/50 Variable to 50 Fixed/47 Variable.

Harness the power of the Jade Mask with the Xianxia Bundle! This limited-time pack includes:

  • Xianxia Lin Fei Skin
  • Lin Fei Legend Unlock
  • Nian Shou Sidekick
