PS5 Update 22.01-05.02.00.03 Rolled Out This April 13

Sony has released the PS5 update22.01-05.02.00.03 today, and this is an unannounced system firmware update, which means that gamers shouldn’t expect much. There are no new features included in this system patch, and has been rolled out for system stability.

PS5 Update 22.01-05.02.00.03 Patch Notes | PS5 April 13 Update Patch Notes:

Via the game’s PS5 system:

  • This system software update improves system performance

Yep, that’s  about it. There is a slim chance that this could house some stealth new features, but that’s a slim one.

While this firmware update might not include new features, another one is planned by Sony which will include the oft-requested Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). You can read up on that right here.

If you spot any changes with this PS5 update, leave a comment below to let us know.

Report: DualSense PC Owners Will Finally Be Able to Update Their Controllers Without a PS5

If you’re one of the many people who use a DualSense controller on PC but don’t own a PS5, you’ll still be able to update your controller’s firmware soon it seems. This nugget of info was spotted via a new firmware updater for DualSense license agreement that surfaced online.

Sony themselves posted it on the official PlayStation site before yanking it earlier today (it now leads to a 404 page). Thankfully, web cache is here to save the day! You can check it out here, and we also took a screenshot of it.

Given how Sony pulled this, chances are, this is something that’s not ready to be announced or rolled out yet, though it is coming down the pipe. While the DualSense will work even if it’s not updated, I wouldn’t be surprised if some games integrate the haptic feedback and other features of the DualSense that can’t be activated unless its firmware is updated.

Once we know more about this, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Thanks, rockagent!

Diablo 3 Update 1.41 Patch Notes | Diablo 3 Season 26 Patch Notes | Diablo 3 Update 2.7.3 Patch Notes | Diablo 3 April 12 Patch Notes:

SEASONS:

Season 26 introduces the Echoing Nightmare, an optional and rewarding end-game challenge where players fight within the memories of Nephalem who fell in a Greater Rift. Today’s Nephalem must stand their ground until they are inevitably Overwhelmed or defeated. Players must collect a Petrified Scream from defeated Greater Rift Guardians to gain entry to the Echoing Nightmare. Transmuting a Petrified Scream in Kanai’s Cube summons a portal that players can enter to face the horrors of the Nephalem’s past.

Season Theme Details:

  • Petrified Screams and the Echoing Nightmare can only be accessed with seasonal characters.
  • Only one player is required to transmute a Petrified Scream to open an Echoing Nightmare in a multiplayer game.
  • Similar to a boss encounter, all players in a multiplayer game must accept a prompt to enter.
  • While within an Echoing Nightmare, the difficulty scales as players progress in the encounter. Players can progress faster by defeating monsters quickly.
  • Players receive the following rewards upon completing an Echoing Nightmare: EXP, Legendary Items, Blood Shards, Gems, and a new Legendary Gem, Whisper of Atonement.
  • The Whisper of Atonement is a Legendary Gem used exclusively for Augmenting Ancient Legendary items. It drops pre-ranked based upon the player’s performance in the Echoing Nightmare.

  • Increased the possible rank a Whisper of Atonement can drop to 125 based on the Tier completed.
  • Monsters in Echoing Nightmares can no longer be Frozen, Stunned, Rooted or Knocked Back.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Conduit Shrines to deal less damage than intended.

  • Reduced the Echoing Nightmare closing timer to 30 seconds.
  • Prevented Echoing Nightmares from being opened in games lower than level 70.
  • Adjusted the drop rate of Petrified Screams from Greater Rift Guardians.

GREATER RIFT UPDATES:

We wanted to improve the Greater Rift experience through quality of life updates, balance changes and addressing community feedback. We reviewed all of the maps and monsters that appear in Greater Rifts and reworked the probabilities overall to make sure players spend more time with the content they enjoy. Less spaghetti and more chickens!

Orek’s Dream: Greater Rifts have a small chance to roll as Orek’s Dream. These dreamlike rifts have a curated list of maps and monster compositions.

  • 3 maps have been added and 2 maps have been removed from the Greater Rift pool.
    • Added: Fields of Misery, Desolate Sands and Briarthorn Cemetery
    • Removed: Sewers of Caldeum, and Hidden Aqueducts
  • The probability of Greater Rift maps has been adjusted.
  • The probability of monster groups has been adjusted.
  • The following monsters have been adjusted to grant more progression and EXP within Greater Rifts.
    • Blazing Guardians
    • Smoldering Guardians
    • Frost Guardian
    • Noxious Guardian
    • Shock Guardian
    • Blood Clan Spearman
    • Dark Moon Clan Impaler
    • Moon Clan Impaler
    • Blood Clan Impaler
    • Ice Clan Impaler
    • Hell Witch
    • Vile Temptress
  • Players can speak to Orek to close an active Greater Rift. This option is only available when in a single player game.
  • Further increased the progression granted by some monsters in Greater Rifts.
  • Additionally, increased the progression granted by Fallen Shaman, Fallen Conjurer, Fallen Prophet and Fallen Firemage.
  • Updated visual effects upon entering an Orek’s Dream.
  • Updated the Orek’s Dream vignette to be more pronounced.

ITEMS:

Barbarian

  • Legacy of Raekor (4-piece Bonus): Furious Charge gains the effect of every rune and deals 1000% increased damage. For every 1% Life you are missing, the damage of your Ancient Spear is increased by 2%.
  • Legacy of Raekor (6-piece Bonus): Hitting enemies with Furious Charge or Weapon Throw increases the damage of your next Ancient Spear by 5500% and causes it to release multiple spears from its target. This effect stacks and each spear throw consumes a maximum of 5 stacks.
  • Arreat’s Law: Weapon Throw and Ancient Spear deal 150-200% increased damage.
    • Weapon Throw generates up to 25 50 additional Fury based on the distance of the enemy hit. The generated Fury can go above the maximum cap by 200 Fury.
    • Ancient Spear refunds up to 25 50 Fury based on the distance of the enemy hit and resets your Fury cap to its base maximum.
  • The Three Hundredth Spear: Increase the damage of Weapon Throw and Ancient Spear by 150-200%. The attack speed of Weapon Throw is increased by 200%.
  • Skular’s Salvation: Increase the damage of Ancient Spear by 150-200%. If your Ancient Spear – Boulder Toss hits 5 or fewer enemies, the damage is increased by 100%.

Developer’s Note: We’ve added additional Weapon Throw buffs to give players more build options when playing the reworked Legacy of Raekor set. We’ve also updated Arreat’s Law to allow players to reach new levels of Fury.

Developer’s Note: We reworked Raekor’s Legacy to give the set its own identity. It felt natural to the team to infuse the charging fantasy of Raekor’s Legacy with the Barbarian’s ranged skills.

Crusader

  • Thorns of the Invoker: The attack speed of Punish and Slash are increased by 100% and deal 67,500% of your Thorns damage.
  • Norvald’s Fervor: Gain 200% increased damage while using Steed Charge and for 5 seconds after it ends.

Developer’s Note: Norvald’s Fervor is overperforming across multiple sets. We want to bring its power down, but we are Increasing the utility of Thorns of the Invoker to compensate.

Monk

  • All Mystic Allies spawned by Inna’s Mantra 6-piece bonus now have their duration refreshed with each attack.
  • Mystic Ally – Fire Ally: Mini allies now have Passability.
  • Mystic Ally – Earth Ally:
    • Earth Ally boulders speed has been increased. Boulders always leash to the player regardless of how many monsters are on screen.
    • Prevented Earth Ally boulders from being slowed by missile dampening.

Developer’s Note: We’ve made improvements to Mystic Ally that should make the skill feel more fluid and less clunky at times.

  • Bindings of the Lesser Gods: Enemies hit by your Cyclone Strike take 150%-200% more damage from your Mystic Ally for 5 seconds.

Developer’s Note: We’re happy with the gameplay of Inna’s Mantra Monks, but the Fire build is overperforming, so we removed the Fire Ally bonus from the Bindings of the Lesser Gods.

BUG FIXES | 2.7.3

  • Prevented players from changing difficulty while an Echoing Nightmare is active.
  • Fixed a bug where Boon of the Hoarder allowed gold to drop in Echoing Nightmares.
  • Fixed a bug where Orek’s Dream vignette sometimes goes away on Shrouded Moors and Festering Woods when entering anything other than level 1.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Orek’s Dream opening VFX to display inconsistently

Head on below for the seasonal rewards and more.

NEW SEASON THEME:

The souls of heroes defeated in the eternal struggle against evil call for aid! Astute Nephalem will listen to the petrified screams of the dead, and find themselves attuned to the last agonizing moments of the departed. Will these Nephalem heed the whispers of atonement of fallen heroes and survive their echoing nightmare? Or will they be forever trapped, becoming just another fallen Nephalem? Only time will tell…

In Season 26, we introduce the Echoing Nightmare. This is our first Seasonal Theme that introduces a new activity to the game. In the Echoing Nightmare, players will experience an intense, densely packed, increasingly challenging event that stretches their ability to stay in the fight as long as possible. We found inspiration in Orek’s warning, “Many Nephalem have stood where you are now, but few succeeded in overcoming the trials.” The Echoing Nightmare explores what happened to those Nephalem who did not succeed.

SEASONAL COSMETIC REWARDS:

Beginning with Season 17, we began reintroducing previous rewards to make them available to players who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 26, this means awards originally available from Season 14 are returning. In addition to the Boots and Pants slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, a series of portrait frames themed around the enigmatic Tal Rasha will be available. For the nephalem hero who wants to embody the spirit of Justice, a pennant dedicated to everyone’s favorite archangel will also be available. Just remember—you cannot judge Justice itself!

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic ones for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Endure The Fall of the Nephalem and complete the Season 26 Guardian Journey to earn the Rakkis’ Remembrance portrait and the Toothsome Trooper pet.

SEASON JOURNEY REWARDS:

If you’ve been playing the past few Seasons diligently and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve accrued a few extra stash tabs. Players who have not yet earned a total of five stash tabs via the Season Journey can still unlock an additional one by completing the following tasks at the Conqueror tier:

  • Complete a level 70 Torment XIII Rift in under 5 minutes
  • Complete Greater Rift 60 solo
  • Kill Greed on Torment XIII
  • Kill the Butcher at level 70 in Torment XIII in under 30 seconds
  • Reforge a Legendary or Set item
  • Augment an Ancient item with a Level 50 or greater Legendary Gem
  • Level three Legendary Gems to 55
  • Complete two Conquests

SEASONAL CONQUESTS:

Speaking of Conquests, we’re rotating those, too! Returning for the Season of Greed is Avarice and Avarita, where every gold piece you find will count! Speed Demon and Need for Speed will ask you to kick it into full gear in your Nephalem Rift runs. On a Good Day and I Can’t Stop will congratulate high ranking Legendary Gems. Finally, for the solo crowd, Divinity and Lionhearted will ask you to climb Greater Rift heights by your lonesome, while Years of War and Dynasty challenge your game mastery of at least six classes.

HAEDRIG’S GIFT

Finally, just as before, you’ll get a shiny new Class Set courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:

Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!

The set you will receive depends on the Class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character.

Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 26:

  • Barbarian – The Legacy of Raekor
  • Crusader – Armor of Akkhan
  • Demon Hunter – Embodiment of the Marauder
  • Monk – Inna’s Reach
  • Necromancer – Pestilence Master’s Shroud
  • Witch Doctor – Zunimassa’s Haunt
  • Wizard – Delsere’s Magnum Opus

Once a new season for Diablo 3 is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Sister of the Thorn

  • Kerillian’s latest career has undergone a bit of a renovation. The changes to Sister of the Thorn will add tools and opportunities for Kerillian to become an asset to the team in more ways than previously through debuffing enemies and controlling the flow of combat.

The goal with changing Sister of the Thorn is to address the most problematic areas of the career, make it into a stronger thematic role in combat, and lean more into the fantasy of the Sisters of the Thorn.

  • Blackvenom Blades: Melee attacks apply Blackvenom, dealing damage and increasing damage taken by 12% for 10 seconds.

  • Atharti’s Delight: Changed to applying bleed when striking poisoned enemies instead of on critical strikes.

  • Isha’s Bounty replaced with Briar’s Malice: Casting Thornwake grants Kerillian 2 critical strikes.

  • Bloodrazor Thicket replaced with Tanglegrasp Thicket: Thorny vines now erupt from Kerillian and travel towards the targeted area. Enemies hit are dragged towards the target area.

  • Blackvenom Thicket: Thornwake instead causes roots to burst from the ground, staggering enemies and applying Blackvenom to them.

Shade

We felt Shade wasn’t in a good place as a niche melee career, and that she needed more emphasis on positioning as well as allowing her to get behind enemies more often as a core part of her career. In order to support different playstyles, we also wanted to create a clearer intention with her Career Skill talents.

We wanted to remove the need for certain talent combinations and free up some more choices as a result. Some talents were also very low on popularity and we attempted to remedy the worst examples. We added two new perks to get her more in line with other careers.

We have made an effort to make sure the Shade stealth minigame is a bigger part of the second to second gameplay. Players who utilize this well should notice a big improvement to backstabbing.

Passive, Talents, Perks

  • Main Passive: Changed to Assassin’s Blade: 100% additional damage when attacking enemies with melee attacks from behind.

  • Activated Ability: Cooldown now 70s, up from 60s.

  • Perk 1: Murderous Prowess: Charged melee backstabs instantly slay man-sized enemies.

  • Perk 2: Blur: Parrying an attack and quickly dodging grants Kerillian stealth for a short duration.

  • Perk 3: Dagger in the Dark: Melee attacks from stealth are always critical.

  • Talent 2-3 Exquisite Huntress: Increased duration of the headshot damage buff to 10 seconds, up from 5.

  • Talent 4-1 Ereth Khial’s Herald replaced with: Chain Killer – Successive Charged Backstabs increase Backstab Damage by 25% for 5 seconds. This effect can stack up to 2 times.

  • Talent 4-2 Vanish replaced with: Focused Slaying – Killing an enemy with a Backstab grants Cooldown reduction for 3 seconds.

  • Talent 6-1 Cloak of Mist replaced with: Shimmer Strike – Leaving Infiltrate grants Kerillian Stealth for 3 seconds. Killing an elite or a special enemy extends this effect by 1 second.

  • Talent 6-2 Shadowstep replaced with: Hungry Wind – Leaving Infiltrate grants Kerillian 10% movement speed and 20% Power with the ability to pass through enemies for 10% seconds. Infiltrate no longer grants bonus damage.

Adjustments

  • We’ve done a pass on sound effects for this career.

  • Shade’s Activated Ability movement speed reduced to 10 from 20 and power down to 20 from 30.

  • Shade’s stacking backstab damage now stacks twice for a 50% bonus instead of 5 times for a 100% bonus.

Stability and Localisation

  • Fixed various unspecified crashes.

  • Fixed a crash caused by missing textures.

Hell Is Us Trailer Reveals New Adventure Game With a Weird and Intriguing Dark Theme

Rogue Factor is coming in with a very intriguing entry into the third-person genre of adventure games, as the developere unveiled the Hell is Us trailer! The teaser explores a weird landscape that gives off major Death Stranding vibes, although as is with the latter it’s still up in the air as to what exactly is Hell is Us. See the trailer for yourself below.

The trailer for Hell is Us mostly consists of visuals with no gameplay, although it does show off a companion drone that will most likely accompany you throughout your journey. Its official Steam page seems to have some more information, and you can check it out below:

Hell is Us is a 3rd-person action-adventure game that combines intense melee combat with the thrill of exploration. Explore a semi-open world to find answers to your questions and face mysterious creatures all along your journey.

A HOSTILE WORLD

As well as the civil war dividing the country, the region is suffering from a mysterious calamity, which has given rise to supernatural creatures that no modern weapon can defeat. Your drone and sword from a different age are your faithful allies as you cut a path through lands infested with terrifying chimeras and try to unravel the mystery of their appearance.

A UNIQUE EXPLORATION SYSTEM

No map, no compass, no quest markers: following your instincts is part of the adventure. Enjoy a unique experience that uses innovative writing and level design to let you make your own decisions and follow your instincts as you explore. Your discoveries are yours alone.

COMBAT AGAINST ORIGINAL CREATURES

Swords, spears and axes: a wide range of weapons forged specially for fighting these supernatural creatures is available. You will need to learn how to fight these monsters and use your drone wisely to stay alive.
“The central theme of Hell is Us is that human violence is a perpetual cycle fueled by human emotions and passions.” – Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, Creative Director

Hell is Us is releasing as a next-gen only title in 2023 for Xbox Series consoles, PS5, and PC.

Bugsnax Upcoming Update “Isle of Bigsnax” Coming April 28; Also Releasing for Xbox Game Pass

A Bugsnax upcoming update is releasing this April 28, alongside another huge piece of news: the game is also releasing on the Xbox Game Pass! As is with these new updates, check out the trailer for the “Isle of Bigsnax” below as well as the details on the game’s release for Game Pass.

The Bugsnax upcoming update is called the Isle of Bigsnax, and here are some of the features as per its official PlayStation Blog post:

Exploring a new island

The titular Isle of Bigsnax is a whole new biome to play in, twice the size of any other. The Bugsnax there are equally oversized (but more on that later). You and your fellow grumpuses are shocked when this new land mass bursts out of the ocean just off the coast of Snaktooth Island. You’ll quickly gather up a party of volunteers including Chandlo, Floofty, Triffany, and Shelda, and raft your way over to investigate its mysteries.

With this area, we put a greater emphasis on environmental puzzles that put your tools to the test. You’ll come across vertical mazes that can only be navigated with your buggy ball, and they ramp up in complexity; some are even inhabited by mischievous snax. There are also mechanical ruins that can be opened with clever use of your trip shot and its ability to spread fires. Fun fact: A temple door opening from a lit fire may sound fantastical, but we took inspiration from the works of the real-life Archimedes.

Catching Bigsnax

As I said, the new island is host to a collection of absolutely massive Bugsnax. They’re so large that they can ignore your usual traps and tools. So how do you catch them? Well, there’s a helpful substance on the island called Shrink Spice. If you throw it at a Bigsnak, it will shrink down to a much more manageable size, giving you an opportunity to trap it. Unfortunately the spice is extremely volatile, and once you pick it up you have 30 seconds to use it before it explodes.

Even with Shrink Spice the Bigsnax won’t be a cake-walk; they have plenty of other defenses. The Clawbsteroni (a lobster made of mac and cheese) for example uses a giant trampoline to bounce the spice away from its head. Aside from the somewhat familiar Bunger Royale, all of the snax on the island are brand new, so there’s plenty to discover about their behaviors and abilities. We had a ton of fun coming up with designs for them, and this update gave us an opportunity to fit in both bugs and foods we didn’t have room for the first time around.

Decorating Your Hut

Of course the island itself isn’t the only thing worth checking out in this update. Back in Snaxburg, Filbo introduces you to your very own hut. We had always wanted to give the player a home among their grumpus friends, but it was sadly left on the cutting room floor. Still, we left a half-finished hut in Snaxburg with the hopes that it could one day turn into something more.

Indeed your hut starts out as a humble pile of lumber, but over time it can become a two-floor luxury abode. You can decorate and personalize the hut with all kinds of unique furniture, wallpaper, and lawn ornaments (my favorite being a twenty-foot tall grumpus skeleton). There are around 180 decorations to collect How do you come across all these decorations? Well…

Checking Your Mail

Your hut is also tied to a new set of activities delivered via mailbox. The grumpuses in town will send you requests and challenges, and every time you complete one you’ll get a thank you letter with some gifts attached. You’ll also get letters and gifts to mark various milestones throughout the game (so returning players will have quite a few built up to start with).

We’ve built these letter challenges to encourage players to explore the game in new ways. You could be tasked with observing a unique Bugsnak behavior, solving a riddle, or climbing to the highest point in a level. One of my favorites involves putting up ads for Cromdo Mart around Snaxburg. The letters are also filled with jokes, anecdotes, and secrets from your favorite grumpuses, so we hope you enjoy reading through them.

Collecting Bug Hats

Last but not least, we’ve added Bug Hats! As you feed the grumpuses in Snaxburg, eventually the transformations cause their hats to fall off never to be worn again. You might have wondered at some point; what happened to those hats?

Well, the Bugsnax have them! Out in the wild, you can encounter a Bugsnak wearing a hat. If you catch it, the hat is yours, and you can now proudly put it on the head of any Snax in Gramble’s barn. Once you’ve found your first hat, the Hat Board will appear in Snaxburg, giving you hints on where to find the next one. We think it’s fun to have a little rare event like this shake up your bug hunt.

With the release of this new upcoming update, Bugsnax also makes its debut on Xbox via Game Pass! On its release, you can play it via Xbox consoles, PC via PC Game Pass, and cloud streaming. It’s also coming to PC via Steam on the same date.

Bugsnax: Isle of Bigsnax is coming to PS4 and PS5 for free this April 28.

Rogue Company Update 1.96 Patch Notes | Rogue Company Covert Ops Patch Notes | Rogue Company April 12 Patch Notes:

Update: Official Covert Ops patch notes are out and we’ve updated the post with it.

First Watch has not released the official patch ntoes, but here are the PTS patch notes for Covert Ops (which should be similar to today’s patch notes):

COVERT OPS BATTLE PASS

  • Blood Work Epic Hoverboard
  • 1 Hour Account Boost
  • 20% Battle Pass Experience

BATTLE PASS ELITE BUNDLE (2000 ROGUE BUCKS)

  • +15 Battle Pass Levels
  • Reaper Saint Epic Outfit
  • Blood Work Epic Hoverboard
  • 1 Hour Account Boost
  • 20% Battle Pass Experience

NEW RANKED SEASON

The first new season of the new year begins today, granting last season’s rewards and unlocking new ones to earn! Year 2 Season 1 Ranked Rewards The following rewards will be give to those who are marked veterans in ranked and to those who have achieved Rogue tier:

  • Play 30 Ranked Games: Mack Attack Banner
  • Achieve Rogue Tier: Ronin’s Retribution Banner

COVERT OPS LTM SCHEDULE

For maximum tactical action we are enabling Battle Zone to be the active LTM for the entirety of the Covert Ops Update!

SHOP UPDATES

  • Rogue Perk Loadouts increased from 6 -> 8
  • Project Saint: Weapons/Pistols/Gadgets/Perks now have a rarity color indicator – the goal here was to give quick visual clarity on effectiveness by using widely familiar coloring.
    • Additionally, in modes that are applicable, all weapons that are dropped will have a new VFX treatment denoting the quality of the weapon. We hope that this helps players know the quality of the weapon that they are about to pick up

PERKS

  • Scalable perks – All Perks now have a Rare, Epic, and Legendary version which will present increased cost but benefits as well.  Log in and check out each version.
    • Having different versions of each perk furthers our goals of increasing the number of meaningful decisions our players make during a match as well as reinforcing a Rogue’s identity, making each and every rogue feel more unique and powerful in their own way! Currently, Anvil is one of the only character that has access to the Legendary Armor in his shop, while Runway only has access to rare armor. These differences help Anvil deliver that fantasy of playing a big, heavily armored, bunkered-down defender.
  • All Rogues have had their perks reviewed and in many cases changed.  Log in to see what’s new with your favorite Rogues!
  • New perks!
    • Energize: Your ability recharges faster.
    • Gunsmith: Increase magazine size and falloff ranges.
    • Volatile: Increase potency of damage over time effects.
    • Shredder Rounds update
      • Now deals bonus damage to armor.
      • No longer increases ammo.
  • Crackshot
  • Bulletproof
  • Restock
  • Tracker renamed Spotter
  • Headstrong renamed Armor
    • Armor is no longer repairable
    • Picking up armor from a mythic crate in relevant modes will drop your currently equipped armor.
    • With armor being available in so many different quantities, it no longer felt appropriate to have all armor share the same repair time. But when we playtested armors of higher rarity having longer repair times, it cancelled out the feeling of your armor being “better” than some of the lower tiered armors. We decided to remove the repair functionality altogether and just adjust the cost of armor appropriately for this loss in functionality. Additionally, this unifies the way armor works across the game.
  • Cloaked has been removed
  • Toughen Up is now part of Tenacity
  • Bounce back, specifically in Battle Zone, increases healing received from all sources since there is no health regeneration in this mode.
  • Mythic Perks in applicable modes for Rogues have been changed.  Take a look and let us know your thoughts!

ROGUES

  • Speed & Toughness
    • You’ve been hearing a lot about Rogue Identity lately from us, and this is another feature aiming to continue reinforcing that. We want our rogues to feel different, and unique. Adding this speed/toughness system adds another layer of depth to their kit, another knob to balance with, and another factor to weigh when you’re choosing your Rogue. Each Rogue has both a Speed and a Toughness value assigned to them, which can be found in the Rogue section of the main menu, as well as during the character select screen before you load into a match! Both speed and toughness operate on a scale of one through five stars. With one star being the slowest and least tough, and five being the fastest and toughest. Both stats scale in increments of 5%.

 1 Pip

  • Speed 5% Reduction
  • Toughness 5% Reduction

2 Pips

  • Speed Baseline
  • Toughness Baseline

3 Pips

  • Speed +5%
  • Toughness +5%

4 Pips

  • Speed +10%
  • Toughness +10%

5 Pips

  • Speed +15%
  • Toughness +15%

So using Ronin as an example here, She has a Speed rating of 4 stars and a Toughness rating of 2. This means she will move 10% faster than the baseline movement speed of a rogue at all times and take the normal, baseline level of damage from all sources.

BALANCE UPDATES

GADGETS

  • Sticky Sensor
    • Reduced max deployable count from 3>2
    • We want to keep the max deployable count on things like this limited to what the maximum capacity the Rogue’s themselves can carry. APS and Tripmine would get a similar change if it weren’t for our good pal Trench, please take any complaints up with him, I don’t make the rules here sorry.
  • Cluster Smoke
    • Now deploys the clusters faster
    • Removed unintentional slow off the level 2 upgrade.

WEAPONS

  • LR15 Fullbody
    • Headshot damage increased 150>180
    • Level 3 upgrade now increases headshot damage to 210
    • With a lot of new damage modifiers in play this patch, snipers needed adjustments to their headshot damage to maintain 1 shot headshots
  • Tyr
    • Headshot damage increased 125>165
    • Level 3 upgrade now increases headshot damage to 190
  • Devotion
    • Headshot damage reduced 84>78
      • The devotions current level of headshot damage accompanied by the new crackshot perk on Dallas was allowing him to 1 tap too many targets.
  • Arbitrator
    • Range reduced by 2m
    • Damage at long ranges reduced.
    • With the addition of the gunsmith perk, the arbitrator can access a 3rd round in its magazine, making it more forgiving than it used to be at close range, and allowing reliable 3 shot downs that were previously impossible without a reload. We want to reduce the range the 3-tap to the body is achievable, so we’ve reduced the range as well as the damage at more extreme ranges.
  • Objection
    • Bodyshot Damage Reduced from 12>11
    • Falloff Damage increased at medium and long ranges
    • This damage nerf means this weapon requires an additional body shot to kill. Additionally, The weapons damage will fall off faster at all ranges.
  • Sahara
    • Increased Recoil
    • Mag size upgrade now provides less ammo 15>10
    • This is quite a popular weapon, and for good reason! It’s a solid all-arounder at mid range and has potent upgrades. It’s time to kill values sit pretty firmly in the middle of the pack as far as AR’s go so we don’t want to move it out of that position. Removing some of the stability & decreasing the upgraded mag size helps reintroduce some weaknesses to the gun without changing it’s damage profile.
  • KA30
    • Reduced Range by 3m
    • Headshot Damage reduced from 29 to 27
    • Increasing the fire rate of the weapon helped its damage profile become more aggressive and hard to control,  but the guns range was flirting too closely with other mid/long range rifle.
  • D40-C
    • Headshot Damage reduced from 19 to 18.
  • SL-C
    • Headshot Damage reduced from 19 to 18.
  • LMP-X
    • Headshot Damage reduced from 25 to 22.
  • Knight
    • Headshot Damage reduced from 32 to 30.
  • MLX Mark 4
    • Headshot Damage reduced from 32 to 29
  • Arren L212
    • Headshot Damage reduced from 48 to 41
  • MX-R
    • Headshot Damage reduced from 48 to 42
  • Devotion
    • Headshot Damage reduced from 83 to 78
  • MLX Maw
    • Headshot Damage reduced from 24 to 22

GAME MODE UPDATES

STRIKEOUT

  • Human Backfill is now available for Strikeout

BATTLE ZONE

  • Perks are no longer global
    • First 8 Perks are your Rogue’s core perk loadout and the last 4 perk are Mythic Perks
    • Mythic Perks
      • In Battle Zone the shop expands the Rogues perks from 8 to 12. We wanted to maintain the core 8 perks each Rogues has and then add more impactful Mythic versions on top of the Rogues base kit.
  • New Gadget! Regeneration Field
    • Heal friendly Rogues around the gadget.
      • Base
        • 10 second duration.
        • Heals for 5 per second.
      • Level 1
        • Increase duration by 5 seconds.
      • Level 2
        • Increase gadget count by 1.
  • Gadget sets are now determined by your Rogue’s Role
    • We want to bring in more depth and Rogue identity into Battle Zone by allowing Rogues to have different gadgets in the game mode. These gadgets are now tailored toward each role.
      • Breacher
        • Flashbang
        • EMP
        • Adrenaline Shot
        • Grenade
        • Molotov
        • Semtex Grenade
      • Duelist
        • Flashbang
        • Pop Smoke

Demolition

  • All abilities now recharge in Demolition exactly as they do in respawn modes
    • We didn’t like that game modes were affecting the rules of how a Rogue’s baseline kit functions. Players should expect the game rules to change in a different game mode, but expect their rogue to behave the same (unless it’s a wild Limited Time Mode).

Team Death Match

  • Now start with your Primary Weapon.
  • Economy Changes
    • Downs $1,000 -> $1,500
    • Assist $250 -> $1,000
    • Revive $500 -> $1,500

RANKED

  • Meltdown added to the rotation
  • KoTH has been removed
    • We’ve decided to remove King of The Hill from ranked until we can re-implement it with map/mode voting
