Next Mass Effect Game Exits Pre-Production and Now in Early Development Confirms BioWare

While BioWare has teased a new Mass Effect game back in 2020, we haven’t heard from the game officially since then. For those looking forward to the next sci-fi epic adventure from BioWare, the studio has confirmed that the next Mass Effect game has left the pre-production phase, and is now “early in development.”

This was confirmed by the studio in its latest Community Update blog post.

We’re working on more than just Dragon Age, too. Our team is continuing to work on Star Wars: The Old Republic™ and its recent Legacy of the Sith expansion, so be sure to check out the SWTOR website for more details about what’s coming! There’s also the next game in the Mass Effect™ universe, which is now early in development. It’s going to be a while before we can talk about it in more detail, but we can’t wait to show you what we’re working on!

Unfortunately, the studio has also confirmed that it’ll be a while before we see anything from. But hey, it’s good Mass Effect news, and franchise fans will surely like that.

Another game BioWare is working on is the next Dragon Age, which the studio promised we’ll hear more about this year.

Thanks, Okami!

Overwatch Down and Not Letting Gamers Login This April 13 (Update 2)

If you’re trying to play Overwatch but can’t seem to connect, or are put in a long queue, it’s not you, but it’s the game servers. Overwatch down reports have surfaced online, and it seems to be affecting all platforms this April 13 (April 14 for those not in the US).

Overwatch Down Status Report This April 13:

Update 2: Blizzard has announced that the login issues have been resolved.

Update: Blizzard has acknowledged the situation and are investigating:

Over on the game’s subreddit, multiple threads have surfaced within the hour complaining about being disconnected, not being able to connect to the game servers, etc. I can confirm firsthand that the connection issues are happening on the PS4, as I can’t get past the login and connection screen.

Anyone just get completely logged out, no ability to sign back in?
byu/Mister_Brevity inOverwatch

I just got kicked from my game and this showed up?
byu/lolosity_ inOverwatch

Anyone else having issues?
by inOverwatch

Sadly, the official Blizzard Entertainment customer service Twitter account has not acknowledged the issue. This is the case with the official Overwatch Twitter account too. We’re hoping this changes ASAP, so that at the very least, we know that the devs are aware of the issues.

Once we know more, we’ll be sure to update the post. If you can (or cannot) connect, leave a comment below to let us know what platform you’re on, and which region/country you’re in.

Deep Rock Galactic Season 2 Trailer Unveiled; Rival Escalation Details Revealed

Ghost Ship Games has unveiled the Deep Rock Galactic Season 2 trailer, as well as details on Rival Escalation, the name of this new season! Check out the trailer and details below.

Expect more than 6 minutes of footage from Season 02 with Mission Control guiding you through all the juicy content: new Rival warning, new secondary weapons, new mission event, new major enemy (the Nemesis!), new DLC, new free Performance Pass and cosmetic tree, new shop-friendly mineral, and much more!

Season 02 and the new DLC will be released on Steam on April 28th and on Xbox/GamePass + PlayStation on May 5th. And on April 19th (or maybe April 20th), we will release an early version (filled with bugs) on the Experimental Branch on Steam.

Besides the trailer for Season 2, here’s the breakdown for Deep Rock Galatic’s next season:

A New Season Event – Rival Signal

The Rival presence on Hoxxes is escalating (hence the name of Season 02). In this brand new event for Season 02 you will be shutting down communications equipment set up by the Rivals. Similar to Season 01, this event will require some hacking as well as good old-fashioned firepower to complete. Time to provide some healthy competition, miners!

New Warning – Rival Presence

Playing missions with this new warning will include swarms of Rival robots. These murderous little machines are a force to be reckoned with, so be extra vigilant. Management has luckily factored in the potential scenario of an escalating Rival presence on Hoxxes, and has something new prepared to counter it.

4 New secondary weapons

You have all of course been following the Secondary Weapon reveals in the Steam Posts leading up to Season 02. But just in case you need a refresher, each of the classes is getting a new secondary weapon to deal with all of the above. The Scout gets the Nishanka Boltshark X-80, the Engineer gets the Shard Diffractor, The Gunner gets the ArmsKore Coil Gun, and the Driller gets the Colette Wave Cooker.

The Rival Nemesis

Those new weapons will soon be field-tested as the Rivals have unleashed their latest menace on DRG. We do not know much about this new threat yet, miners, so stay on your toes. Unless the Nemesis grabs you in its metal embrace, of course. In which case, this next feature should come in handy

Medical Gowns added to the Medbay

If you happen to be downed on a mission and wake up in the medbay, you will now find that you are wearing garbs proper for recovery.
While they may be comfortable, Management strongly reminds you to change into work garments before going on your next mission. Mainly because the Medical Gown is (just barely) approved for use in medical facilities. But also to ensure the gowns can be reused so we can stay within budget.

Phazyonite

deep rock galactic season 2
Have you been wanting to mix up your appearance more frequently, but find that you need to spend those credits on upgrades rather than new items in the shop? Well, the new mineral Phazyonite which you will be able to find while on missions can only be used to purchase cosmetic items. So now you can buy that new helmet without foregoing an upgrade.
This Season also introduces the Cosmetic Mastery system. When you buy items from the shop, your Cosmetic Mastery increases, giving you more Phazyonite as a reward. Time to mix up that outfit! Changing clothes regularly will be appreciated by your fellow miners.

New Performance Pass

deep rock galactic season 2This is a new Season after all, so there is of course a new season terminal. New Beards, Paintjobs, Helmets, etc. It is of course completely free, just like in Season 01. And any rewards you did not unlock from the Season 01 performance pass can be found in Cargo Crates, Lost Packs, Cosmetic Cores, and The Shop.

New DLC – Robot Rebellion

We mentioned this in the last post, but here it is again: There will of course be a new cosmetic DLC released at the same time as season 02. Robot Rebellion will include 4 new suits of armor (one for each class), a unique new helmet in two variants, and new paintjobs. You can wishlist it now.

Deep Rock Galactic Season 2 arrives on PC this April 28, and on consoles this May 5. Stay tuned here at MP1st for the complete patch notes once the update comes out!

QuakeCon 2022 Schedule Revealed, Will Be Digital Only

Unlike E3, which was confirmed cancelled this year, Bethesda will be continuing with QuakeCon 2022 this year, and the publisher has released their schedule for this upcoming event. However, it will be coming with bad news as the event will be digital only, with the upcoming events tailored towards the online-only environment.

QuakeCon 2022 will be held from August 18 to August 20, 2022, and here’s the full announcement from Bethesda:

Like you, we’re disappointed to not return to Dallas this year. An event of this size requires months of planning, and in this case, we had to make decisions when there was still too much uncertainty to commit to successfully executing an in-person QuakeCon.

The QuakeCon team is already working hard to put together exciting new streaming programming, online meetups, giveaways, charity opportunities, the virtual BYOC, and more, and we will announce more details in June.

We’re committed to returning with our full in-person festival in 2023, and already looking forward to reconnecting with friends, a massive BYOC packed with your latest custom PC creations, our wild contests, and tons of great new games and hardware for attendees to try out.

Despite this, there is still a silver lining for next year, as Bethesda has confirmed that the event will be returning to a physical one for 2023. Stay tuned for further news on that one, as well as future gaming events here at MP1st!

In case you missed it, check out news on the E3 2022 cancellation here.

Hello Games’ Next Game Is “Pretty Ambitious,” Seems “Impossible” Even for 1000 Devs

In a new interview, Sean Murray has confirmed that Hello Games’ next game is highly ambitious, and that he deems it seemingly “impossible” even if the studio had 1000 people. This statement itself is highly ambitious, especially given how the studio’s first title, No Man’s Sky, initially released. Check out Sean Murray’s thoughts on this new gamee from the studio below.

In an interview with IGN, studio co-founder and managing director Sean Murray said that the next game from Hello Games is just as ambitious as No Man’s Sky, but it’s by no means a sequel:

“For a while now we’ve been working on something pretty ambitious in the background. It’s a small team but we like it that way. Similar to No Man’s Sky, it’s the kind of project that even if we had a thousand people working on it, it’d still seem impossible.”

Murray also reassured No Man’s Sky fans that while this new game has been in development since September 2021, it has not impacted the former in terms of much-needed development time. Indeed, No Man’s Sky has seen a continuous flow of updates since release, with the latest, Outlaws, releasing today. You can check out the full patch notes for Outlaws here.

Stay tuned here at MP1st for further updates on this next title, and hopefully it comes out with less problems this time around compared to No Man’s Sky.

Ghostwire: Tokyo Interview With Tango – Combat, Side Missions, and Spookiness

Ghostwire Tokyo might not be your typical action or horror game, but it has an interesting premise that flows into its combat. We here at MP1st managed to snag a quick chat with Tango Gameworks regarding Ghostwire Tokyo’s combat, side missions and more. Read on to hear what Game Director Kenji Kimura, and Producer Masato Kimura had to say about the game’s development.

Note: Interview was conducted a week before launch but do to spoilers we wanted to push it out a bit so players had the chance to play through the game.

MP1st: First off I’d like to congratulate the team. I know it’s been quite a journey to get Ghostwire Tokyo out and you know we’re just a week away from launch and I’m sure everyone over there is both nervous and excited. How’s the team holding up?

Kenji Kimura: Yeah, we’re finally able to take a big deep breath, a sigh of relief that the game is able to get released and we’re in this kind of a happy afterglow that we just finished something big.

MP1st: I’ve had the opportunity to play through Ghostwire this pre-release and with it already beaten, I wanted to get some perspective from you guys, more specifically around the theme being centered around life and death. Why was this an important subject for you and the developers over at Tango Gameworks?

Kenji Kimura: One thing that is a common theme throughout the game is that there are things that we cannot see that might exist and they might be nearer and those things can be and also might be very important and there’s a set of spookiness that surrounds all of that. I think, sometimes things like yokai, which may be cute, but you know they may be the shadows or you know sitting around us in the city that we just cannot see but you know that might exist.

But at the same time there’s also the spooky side of that, a more darker side of that where you know there might be ghosts or spirits of people who are deceased that, you know, we just cannot see, that might be trying to tell us something important, or are there for a important reason that we just cannot see or understand quite yet. So with that train of thought, you know, it felt that it would be weird to avoid the topic of life and death, and so we decided to just face it directly, because it is something that all of us face as humans; you know death is something that’s gonna be some eventually at some point in our lives. It’s gonna strike us, or you know be part of our lives in some way. Instead of dancing around that topic we decided to just choose that and put that into the mainstream.

MP1st: Speaking about the spookiness of the game. Ghostwire: Tokyo isn’t exactly a scary game per se. That may mostly be because of the action-oriented combat being the focal point, but I did want to comment about the whole not being able to see things. There were multiple instances, say when I entered a garage, and all the lights just turned off and it’s pitch dark. I couldn’t see what was there, but I knew something was, because of all the effects and sounds that could be heard. I think this was great in terms of story process, and projecting that feeling into the minds of the players, so I know exactly what you mean by “spookiness” and think you guys did a fantastic job at displaying that.

Kenji Kimura: Thank you for noticing, that was a very important part in what we were trying to convey.

Masato Kimura: That’s exactly what the director was kind of aiming to achieve, and so it’s like as if you play through the game maybe after you finish the game, then at in times in real life, like sometimes when you’re walking around you might outside of the game kind of think – hey there might be something in the shadows over there that’s actually really important, or there might be something that I just cannot see that’s around me — especially if you come to Japan. If you ever have a chance to visit Tokyo, and you walk around and you might see the same scenery that we put into the game, and then you might think, “oh, there might be a yokai here” you know? And if that happens that would be awesome…that would be something that would make us very happy

MP1st: With the side missions, they’re very in-theme with the main narrative, but I also noticed a lot of them revolving around unfinished business. There was one early on where you face off against a hoarder inside this tiny complex. As you approached them, the reality around started warping, further manifesting that hoarder mentality, and blending it with both reality and the supernatural. Tell us how the team approached that, having a story based on reality, but also using the supernatural side of things to enhance that experience.

Kenji Kimura: The side missions are individual stories that might exist in real life. They’re kind of individual and unique and just created as things for players to enjoy as a break from the main mission storylines, but by playing them they do offer some hints or different views about what’s going on in the main story. They aren’t super necessary to understand the main story. Sometimes they draw parallels of what’s going on in the main story to offer, you know maybe there’s a different interpretation of what’s going on that I’d have noticed, but they would all be subtle.

The hoarder’s house, the trash house that you are talking about, it’s a phenomenon that we see in Tokyo. Just walking around sometimes there are houses like that, that are just filled with trash and it’s kind of weird and it’s unsettling, but it is part of that notion of our vision of unordinary that’s lurking within the ordinary. So inside the ordinary city or a block of streets of houses, to be this very unordinary looking house. When you walk closer to, yes the enemies come out of like a black hole where light is lost and time is lost and that kind of draw parallels to the mind of the flirter, you know the person who’s gathering up this trash, most likely has a different kind of sense of you know what light is or you know what time is. And we kind of just played on that mentality of like, okay well what would you know that side mission be about.

Normally a trash house is a place that in real life you probably would not want to go near. You know you just see it on the far side of your eyes and just ignore it because you don’t want to go near it or smell it or you know just walk by it. But since it is a game you have this fictional ability to actually go inside of it and  there is a curiosity that kind of tickles in where it’s like okay I wonder what’s inside of that. We’re able to kind of play with those kinds of questions that normally pop up and try to answer them in our own way as an offering to you know as a side mission offering that could also shed some more light on some of the craziness that goes on in this world.

Masato Kimura: One thing that’s common between the side missions and enemy lines and through a lot of the decision making and during the game development process was always this notion of you know, would this be something that might exist you know this, is it something in the kind of believable realm of it might exist and if it falls out of like, you know if it feels too fictional then you probably decide not to put that into the game. But if it might exist or it might happen then we were able to kind of go into that psychologically and try to think about, okay well if that might happen then what would really happen in that case or if there’s a crazy person like this what might be going on in the mind of that person. If there’s a spirit of that person that still exists in this world then what is actually keeping that spirit from moving on? We would kind of play with those kinds of questions and not really answer everything completely but play with those ideas because they would also inspire a gameplay like this.

ghostwire tokyo modes

MP1st: Let’s talk about the game’s conclusion. Looking at both KK and Akito’s story and comparing and contrasting it to the antagonist. It’s kind of like a mirror. On one side is Akito, his story about coming to the terms of accepting death, opening up. On the other side, the antagonist, who is driven to madness by death, he’s haunted by it and can’t let go of it, no matter the cost, even if it’s against the will of those he loves. Two paths that begin the same, but lead to different doors. Is that the tale you were aiming to tell?

Kenji Kimura: Yes, that is absolutely correct. Very happy that you’re able to understand and take that understanding from the game.

You know going over this with the team,  questions about like is this over communicating you know the ending or is this not communicating the ending enough and it was a constant balance of trying out different things but it makes us happy to hear that you were able to receive the information that was put into the final game and and to come to this conclusion which is exactly what we had in mind.

Masato Kimura: Interesting as a piece of artwork, you know this game has kind of like a door that’s easy to enter. You know it looks and feels like a popular children’s manga type of theme kind of game, but as you open the door and you enter in, you get deeper and deeper and you know play through the game and get to farther and farther chapters into the game it starts to have a deeper meaning. It can be played without really understanding everything but also if you do understanding everything and you try to take the effort to make your own interpretation of what you’re seeing then it’s a lot deeper than it how it looks on the cover

MP1st: I’m just gonna go ahead and ask it. With how it ended and just kind of everything in the game itself, it didn’t leave lot of room for a sequel. Do you guys maybe perhaps see yourself in the future coming back to Ghostwire, maybe perhaps with a different setting or continuing on with the story of KK possessing someone else or something? What are your guy’s thoughts on doing a sequel?

Kenji Kimura: On the business side of things that kind of ending would normally not be considered that great because you know, it ends things. But we felt gamers would want a real conclusive ending with some closure and we sided with the gamers with this decision. The thing is we wanted to create a full and complete experience and we wanted to make sure that gamers are satisfied so we definitely went that direction.

So we don’t really currently have plans right now for a sequel, we’re still in that afterglow just being happy to be able to finish and so we haven’t had time to actually sit down and think about you know what would we do if there was a sequel or how would we expand on this as a franchise. But after we take a break, and maybe take some holiday, take a vacation and then regroup and we’ll be able to see and if the opportunity arises to start considering making a sequel, I’m sure we would have ideas at that time.

You know as developers we’re always eager to make new things and improve on things that exist too so yeah, we’re just happy that we were able to finish making this game.

We want to thank Tango Gameworks and Bethesda for taking time out of their schedule to talk to us. Special Thanks to Tadayuki Horie, a producer at Bethesda for being the translator during our interview.

Evil Dead: The Game Gameplay Videos Showcase the Demon & More; Survivor Characters Detailed

A couple of new Evil Dead: The Game gameplay videos are out on the loose, showing off Demon, Survivors, and and how they will play! Check out the latest videos below as well as the new details regarding the Survivors archetypes.

Here are the Survivor archetypes for Evil Dead: The Game who will eventually face off with the Deadites:

Leaders

Leaders are all about auras and playing close to your friends. While this might seem like a no-brainer for survival, some of the more advanced strategies involve splitting up the survivors in order to push for objectives extremely fast before the demon can grow in power or lockdown locations. If you do plan to stick close to your allies, leaders come with a variety of cool bonuses to make your entire group stronger, such as reducing incoming damage, boosting outgoing damage, reducing fear buildup, and more. Bringing leaders makes everything easier, so if you plan to be a team player, grab a leader and go!

Warriors

Warriors love getting into melee combat and have extra health to support them in scraps. Warriors are better with melee options like axes, chainsaws, shovels, and more. Warriors generally get cool abilities to help them roll around in a pack of Deadites, executing finishing moves to tear their body parts right off with style. Many Warrior perks activate based on engaging in close proximity combat, and can even give temporary shields or invulnerability!

Hunter

While ammo can be tougher to come by than something to whack your enemies with, Hunters excel at ranged options, and can even use skills to reduce your need to scrounge up bullets. They can also hold more ammo, so once you’re done with the opening phases of the game and loaded up to tackle objectives, you won’t have to go hunting in houses for more. Hunters are also experts at finding more and better loot, so even if the Demon finds you quickly, you might be able to find some really great gear before the situation gets dire.

Supports

Supports come with numerous skills to help keep your survivors in the fray, including ways to create shields, gain health, or reduce fear. They come with bonus starting consumables too! If you’re looking to bring a guaranteed all-star to the team, pick Cheryl Williams, as her area-of-effect healing zone can turn the tide of matches in your favor in an immense fashion. In fact, she might even be borderline overpowered, so grab some colas and go rock with support! Remember, supports in Evil Dead: The Game are still going to be deep in the action, looting, shooting, and scooting, even with their focus on helping to keep everyone alive.

Game Informer also unveiled a closer look at Survivor gameplay which you can check out below:

Evil Dead: The Game is coming to consoles and PC this May 13, 2022. Stay tuned here at MP1st for further updates on this title as it nears its release.

The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Versions Delayed “Until Further Notice”

CD Projekt RED has delayed The Witcher 3 next-gen versions “until further notice,” with the developer announcing that they have since moved their in-house development team to complete the project. This means that the Q2 window previously announced is now irrelevant, and you can check out the full announcement below.

We have decided to have our in-house development team conduct the remaining work on the next-gen version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. We are currently evaluating the scope of work to be done and thus have to postpone Q2 release until further notice. 1/2

We’ll update you as soon as we can. Thank you for your understanding. 2/2

There you have it. By the looks of the announcement, it seems like there is still a ton of work that needs to be done, and it’s still a relatively good thing that CD Projekt RED did leave the game’s release as “until further notice.” This means that players should not be expecting it to come out this year, and hopefully the studio manages to work out the kinks by the time it comes to launch.

In case you missed it, the studio also announced that they are moving to Unreal Engine 5 for the next Witcher title, and you can read more about it here.

Battlefield 2042 Upcoming Update 4.0 Sneak Peek:

Over on Twitter, Battlefield 2042 Community Manager Kevin Johnson made the announcement, and even shared a peek at what’s coming! In order for an easier read, we’ve compiled Johnson’s series of tweets.

Update 4.0 for #Battlefield 2042 is set to go live next week, with the Patch Notes going live at the start of that week too.

There are over 400+ Individual Fixes, Bugs, and QoL Improvements to go through next week.

Here are some key bits until the Patch Notes go live.

In Update 4.0, Rao and Paik shall have their traits updated.

Sundance has also received some fixes to their Grenade Belt, allowing for better Anti-Armor Grenade target acquisition within their immediate vicinity rather than things football fields away!

Ribbons have been tweaked in order to allow easier unlocking across modes such as Rush.

XP for Support Actions and Teamplay within the game have also been balanced to ensure teamwork remains king.

Vehicular Warfare balancing alongside targetted tweaks to the likes of the Bolte, to ensure that Infantry/Vehicle counter play still has some bite!

Attachments shall also receive an overhaul in Update 4.0, with a focus on ensuring they feel unique and have an impact on your loadout choice and gunplay.

While this merely scratches the surface of Update 4.0 in #Battlefield 2042, we do appreciate the patience afforded to us with getting this update out there.

Again, truly looking forward to your feedback as the update goes live, next week.

Stay safe out there folks 🐧

Now that’s the kind of update the community is talking about! Hopefully, this is enough to draw some players back into the fold, as the game dipping below 1,000 concurrent players on Steam is not a pretty sight.

The Experimental Queue’s map set has been updated as a preview of the new Tournament map set that will go live after the Mid-Season Championship. This proposed map set is also available in Custom Lobbies for Stock game modes, labeled as TournamentEXP in the Game Rules settings. We are aiming for a single map set for 1v1 and 2v2 tournaments, so be sure to give both modes a try in Custom Lobbies.

  • The Experimental Queue Map Set has been changed to “TournamentEXP.”
  • New Experimental Tournament Maps:
    • Small Brawlhaven, Small Enigma, Spirit Realm, Miami Dome, Apocalypse, Small Fortress of Lions, and Demon Island.
  • Players can also try out this new Experimental Map set in Stock game modes in Custom Lobbies.

The reduced input window for Directional Gravity Cancels from 5 ticks to 3 ticks has been graduated into all queues! Players found that this new value resulted in far fewer unintentional Gravity Cancels while recovering back to stage.

  • The window for initiating a Gravity Cancel from a directional dodge is now 3 frames.
  • This graduated feature will help players reduce unintended instances of Directional Gravity Cancels, while helping new players learn the timing of performing a Gravity Cancel.
  • Thank you so much for your feedback!

We’ve added condensed Weapon Spawn locations, adjusted Dodge Cooldowns, and reduced Wall Slip to Test Features. These can be played in the Experimental queue and any Custom Game with Test Features turned on. Share your feedback on our Twitter and Discord. For more information, visit brawlhalla.com/test-features.

Weapon Spawns

We have condensed the locations of weapon spawns on maps in the Experimental Queue, bringing them lower to the ground and closer to center stage. This is intended to make stage control more valuable during a game, with fewer weapon spawns being in reach near walls or far above stage.

  • Condensed item spawns to be closer to the center of the map and platforms.

Effects the following maps:

  • Miami Dome, Small Brawlhaven, Twilight Grove, Small Kings Pass, Small Thundergard Stadium, Small Blackguard Keep, Small Enigma, Small Mammoth Fortress, Small Great Hall, Shipwreck Falls, Small Fangwild, Plains of Passage, Apocalypse, Small Galvan Prime, Demon Island, Crystal Temple, Spirit Realm, and Small Turtles’ Lair.

Dodge Cooldown Adjustments

Many Signatures can use their significant animation time to stall off-stage for too long with a Gravity Cancel, so we are testing a feature that aims to level the playing field for most Signatures.

  • When performing a Gravity Cancel, the dodge cooldown now begins after the attack has finished, rather than after the canceled dodge was expected to finish.
  • We have changed the way Chase Dodge Forgiveness works in the background to allow for future testing, but for now it should feel identical to the current iteration. Look forward to further updates in the next patch.

Reduced Wall Slip

To further increase the power of stage control, we are testing a stricter version of the Wall Slip mechanic. Wall Slip will now trigger when a maximum of 9 jumps and/or Recovery attacks are performed without hitting or being hit by another player, instead of the normal value of 15. This maximum value is constant and does not change based on the number of times Wall Slip warnings have been triggered.

  • Reducing available air actions (jumps and Recovery attacks) from 15 to 9 before Wall Slip triggers.

Train to become an elite soldier like Isaiah with the Shadow Ops bundle! This pack includes:

  • Shadow Ops Isaiah Skin
  • Isaiah Legend Unlock
  • Shadowboxing Emote

This limited-time promotion is available to all Amazon Prime members. Claim your loot at https://gaming.amazon.com/loot/brawlhalla.

User Experience

  • Players can now select Skins in the Training mode in-game menu.

User Interface

  • The Scoreboard screen now shows when players have left the Lobby. A player’s Avatar, Name, Title Reward, and Clan will darken after they leave. In Custom Lobbies, it only darkens if they fully back out of the Lobby (not just exiting the Scoreboard screen).
  • Hugin Skins now display the Legend name as Hugin instead of Munin.

That’s it for this latest Brawlhalla patch. Stay tuned here at MP1st for future updates!

MLB The Show 22 Update 1.03 Patch Notes; Out for Bug Fixes This April 13

San Diego Studio has now released MLB The Show 22 update 1.03 today on April 13. The update is available for the PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch platforms. This is the third game update for it and it mostly rectifies several bug fixes. One of the biggest areas of improvement is the online co-op mode. You can check out the full patch notes posted down below.

MLB The Show 22 Update 1.03 Patch Notes | MLB The Show 22 Update 1.003 Patch Notes | MLB The Show 22 April 13 Patch Notes

MLB The Show 22 Game Update 3
PS4: 1.03
PS5: 1.003
Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S: 1.0.0.54
Nintendo Switch: 1.03

GENERAL GAMEPLAY

  • Fixed a bug that would prevent the Ump at Home from making a call in certain situations.
  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes prevent pause timers from counting down when controllers were disconnected.
  • Fixed a rare issue that would cause the game to freeze when balls were hit into foul territory.
  • Batters pressing R2 to view the pitch history will no longer impact the gesture portion of Pinpoint Pitching for the defensive player. If R2 is pressed at the same time or after the pitch motion is started, R2 will no longer interrupt the defensive user. If the batter presses R2 before the pitch motion has started, the motion will not start.
  • Fixed a bug that would cause a freeze on or around 3B in certain situations.
  • Users will now be notified when their pitcher is getting tired when 25% energy is remaining.
  • Continued balance for Pitcher Energy in 3 inning modes: We’ve reduced pitcher energy by 15% but more importantly, we have also reduced energy lost per pitch. This will result in being able to use relievers longer and more effectively.
    • DEV NOTE: You might think this is backtracking from the update we put out on 4/12 where we increased RP and SP energy, but this rebalance, specifically the reduction in energy lost per pitch, will ultimately result in pitchers being able to throw more pitches.

CO-OP

  • Fixed an issue that would cause a soft lock to occur when making pinch hit substitutions.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause users to get stuck on specific screens when a teammate or opponent would quit before entering the game.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause a crash when a user opens the voice chat menu while losing connection.
  • Changes made to the role rotations in 3v3. Now users will switch to baserunner after batter.
  • Fixed an issue where the active batter would lose their batting turn if the baserunning user got caught stealing to end an inning.
  • Added a controller rumble when pressing L2 to queue for steal as the baserunner.

ROAD TO THE SHOW

  • Fixed an issue causing active perks to not function during gameplay if the active perk was placed in the 4th perk slot.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause the Ball Player to not display at the Ballplayer Hub.
  • Various text adjustments throughout the mode.

MINI SEASONS

  • Fixed an issue where the incorrect team logo would display in Mini Season games.
  • Fixed an issue that would prevent or cause a delay for users trying to enter games.
  • Various crash fixes.

FRANCHISE

  • Fixed an issue where certain award-winning players were listed on the wrong team.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause MLB teams to have too many players of a certain position on their playoff roster.
  • Fixed an issue where incorrect letter grades were displayed for coaches available for hire.
  • Improved Intentional Base on Balls criteria for the CPU.
  • Fixed an issue where All-Star appearances were not being recorded while simming in certain situations.
  • Fixed an issue in the Rule 5 draft that would cause the user’s pick to be skipped and give the drafted player to the next team in the draft order.
  • Fixed an issue where Reliever of the Year Award did not list all players.
  • Fixed an issue where arbitration calculations could result in a salary below the MLB minimum.

MARCH TO OCTOBER

  • Fixed an issue where player stats were missing after entering a saved fast track game.
  • Fixed an issue that would prevent Umpires from being present in intro scenes.

STADIUM CREATOR

  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes lock created stadiums when they were uploaded. Those stadiums should now be accessible in the vault.
  • Fixes and adjustments made to various props and night lighting.

UI

  • Fixed an issue that would cause tutorials to display multiple times.
  • Various text adjustments.

XBOX

  • Fix an issue that was causing the screen to flicker black during pitch selection.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Introduction of the Nike City Connect Houston Astros uniform.
  • Over 400 new player images can now be seen throughout Franchise/MTO and on stadium jumbotrons.
  • Fixed an issue where incorrect team logos would appear on the CIN jumbotron.
  • Fixed an issue where the LAA jumbotron would display incorrect defensive positions for players in the lineup.
  • Users can now skip diamond cinematic pack presentations by pressing square (PlayStation) / X (Xbox) / Y (Nintendo Switch) twice.
  • Over 600 new player images that can be seen throughout Diamond Dynasty, My Inventory and Player Card screens.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause wrist guard to display incorrectly in game.
  • Various presentation and commentary adjustments and bug fixes across all modes.
  • Various crash fixes.

MLB The Show 22 is out now for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch consoles. More patch notes are to be released in the near future so stay tuned.
