Turtle Beach is expanding its gaming peripheral lineup this Spring, and it all starts with some new officially licensed controllers and headsets for both Xbox and Nintendo.
New colorways for Rematch Core on Xbox, and some beautiful, new Nintendo-themed IP controllers and headsets for the Nintendo Switch.
One of the best gaming headsets available, the Turtle Beach Stealth 600, has a brand-new colorway! That's not all either, as its other sibling, the Turtle Beach Stealth 500, is now available in Artic Camo.
It’s-A Me, Turtle Beach
First up on the list of new peripherals are headsets. Specifically, newly licensed ones for the Nintendo Switch systems, which sees Turtle Beach’s amazing Recon 70 now being officially licensed for Nintendo Switch consoles! Equipped with premium-tuned 40mm drivers, the Recon 70 offers spectacular audio, allowing you to enjoy your favorite games in a much more immersive way. And when you’re not playing single-player, and instead going head-to-head against other players in some online games, the Recon 70 also comes fully equipped with a microphone capable of receiving your voice with crystal clear clarity.
Next is the Turtle Beach Airlite Fit, which is now folded under the Turtle Beach branding. If you ever needed a headset that perfectly matches the look of the Nintendo Switch, then this is the one to get, as it shines with its split-color design that emulates those found on the Switch.
Now on to the more exciting (in my opinion) stuff: the new controllers!
Xbox gamers are no strangers when it comes to the various colorways available for controllers, which is something that Turtle Beach has taken note of. So starting mid-May (dates near the end) Xbox gamers will be able to choose between 10 different Wired Controller colorways & material configurations with the New Turtle Beach Afterglow Wave & Rematch Core Series. The Afterglow Wave will feature Hall Effect 3-stop adjustable triggers, extensive customization options, with five available colorways, while the Rematch Core Series will feature impulse triggers, on-the-fly audio controls, fatigue-free grips, dual rumble motors, and five colorways, including three that feature ghost black semi-translucent camo shells.
Turtle Beach has been busy updating their catalog of hardware.
Finally, the Nintendo Switch controllers. Probably my favorite part of this news is the newly licensed Turtle Beach Rematch Invincible Mario and Turtle Beach Rematch Super Mario Star controllers, which, as you might already guess from the names, are themed after Nintendo’s Mario IP. Here’s what they look like:
The coolest part? These glow in the dark! And don’t worry, the battery life on these controllers is about 40 hours of wireless gaming.
Honestly, this might be my favorite Switch controller design I’ve seen yet! Let’s hope that these are fully compatible with the Switch 2.
All of these are now available for pre-order, with an expected release of May 18. Pre-order links (non-affiliated) can be found below:
PC gamers with medium- to large-sized hands rejoice! Turtle Beach Kone II and Kone II Air have finally arrived! While the Kone lineup has been around for a very long time, it's taken a staggering five years to develop a worthy successor to the Kone AIMO, a gaming mouse many consider to have one of the greatest ergonomic designs ever to grace a PC gaming mouse.

After Firaxis released the major 1.2.0 content patch last week for Civilization 7, a follow-up patch was released today for consoles and PC. As one might expect, the patch, which players will see as Civilization 7 update 1.000.009, is aimed at fixes.
Players on last-gen devices will see this as Civilization 7 patch 1.07, and it should house the same set of fixes as the PC and current-gen versions.
Civilization 7 Gets a Follow-Up Patch to Fix Issues With Version 1.2.0
While PlayStation, Xbox, and PC gamers will see the patch live now, Nintendo Switch players will see it only when the Switch 2 is released in June.

It seems that rumors of a new Titanfall game being in development may have been true, at least to some degree, as Respawn announced today that they have stepped away from two very early projects in favor of focusing on Apex Legends and the Star Wars: Jedi franchise.
It’s being reported, though, that one of the two projects was a new extraction shooter set in the Titanfall universe.
Respawn Entertainment may be expanding the Titanfall universe with more games, though if this latest rumor is anything to go by, it won't be with Titanfall 3.
A New Titanfall Game That Was More Likely a Spinoff Like Apex Legends
Earlier today, EA confirmed that it was laying off employees across multiple divisions, with the number reportedly reaching around 300 people, according to IGN. In a prepared statement, a spokesperson stated that part of the reason for the layoffs was in service of “driving future growth.”
“As part of our continued focus on our long-term strategic priorities, we’ve made select changes within our organization that more effectively aligns teams and allocates resources in service of driving future growth,” an EA spokesperson said in an official statement.
“We are treating our people with care and respect throughout this process, working to minimize impacts by helping affected employees explore new opportunities within the company when possible and providing support during the transition.”
Respawn shortly took to X to release a statement, confirming the shift in focus within their studio, while also saying that they had to “step away” from two incubation projects.
And although they didn’t specify what these projects were, Bloomberg has confirmed with their sources that one of these projects was code-named R7, an extraction shooter set within the Titanfall universe. According to the same sources, the project was not close to being released.
This is sad news for the Titanfall community. However, for those expecting this to be a direct sequel to Titanfall 2, it seems to be more of a spinoff, based on the news that it’s an extraction shooter set within the same universe. That’s closer to what Apex Legends is, a game that is entirely different from Titanfall, though it shares the same universe.
It’s been nine years since the last mainline Titanfall 2 game came out, with no official indication that we’ll ever see a new one.
With this week's big news that Respawn Entertainment had been working 10 months on Titanfall 3 before scrapping it in favor of battle royale hit Apex Legends, this got us thinking: what would we want to see in the third installment if we do see one get announced/released? And in case you're wondering, we tackle both single-player and the multiplayer given the game excelled in both.
The next major content drop for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone is about to hit on May 1, and this brings two new maps, a new perk, and new features in Verdansk and Seth Rogen? Yep, we’re not kidding, as the comedian is slated to be in Black Ops 6 and Warzone as a new operator.
While we don’t have the patch notes yet, we do know the full slate of new content on the way. Read on to know what’s in store in Call of Duty soon.
While DICE has shared bits and info about the new Battlefield game, there's not a lot of gameplay to accompany it.

Riot Games has ushered in Season 2 for League of Legends today! This brings a new update to the map, a bunch of nerfs and buffs and more. There’s a lot to take in and that includes a new Battle Pass, and a bunch of champion adjustments.
Read up on everything new in the official patch notes.
League of Legends Update for April 29 Brings Season 2 for 2025
Spirit Blossom Bard, Spirit Blossom Zyra, Spirit Blossom Varus, Spirit Blossom Ivern, Spirit Blossom Ashe, Spirit Blossom Irelia, Prestige Spirit Blossom Lux, and Pool Party Twitch will be available April 30, 2024 at 19:00 UTC.
Spirit Blossom Rift
In honor of our new Season we’ll be giving the map a new, Spirit Blossom-themed update!
Thornbound Atakhan
Atakhan’s been captured by the Black Rose, who are using him for some dark and mysterious purpose. On the new Spirit Blossom Rift, this means Atakhan now has a singular new Thornbound form in place of Season 1’s Voracious and Ruinous—with a new reward for helping the spirits remove him from the Rift.
Just like before, Atakhan spawns on the side of the map which sees the most PvP action, and causes Bloody Roses to spawn near kills and around his own pit. Unlike before, the team that slays Atakhan will get an immediate Bloody Petal bonus as well as all remaining Bloody Roses left on the map, and purify them into Spirit Petals. Additionally, they gain the Spiritual Purification buff for the rest of the game.
Encounter
Voracious and Ruinous Atakhan are replaced with a singular form: Thornbound
Rewards
Spirit Petals
Cleansed Bloody Petals, which grant 25% increased XP and Adaptive Force
Spiritual Purification
On Takedown, bless the area around the target, slowing and damaging any other nearby enemies as well as granting your team a Spirit Petal
Bounties
We’re adjusting Bounties this season to make them a more useful comeback mechanism. They are now more powerful for the losing team, can no longer hurt the losing team, and should more accurately reflect the game state. We’re generally paying out more gold than before and cleaning up some rules for accuracy and fairness.
To explain the shift in champion bounty suppression: Currently in close games where one individual on each team is trying their hardest to carry, they can both get large bounties. The first one to claim the shut down surges far into the lead, which feels unfair, especially if one of them is playing a higher-risk champion like a diver or assassin. Now, both of those champions will be worth the default kill gold until their team starts meaningfully winning. We’re also delaying positive bounty accrual until after a champion leaves combat, as a 1-for-1 trade shouldn’t so obviously benefit the one who died first by potentially giving away a shut down.
Objective Bounties
Payment
No longer pays up to 60% more gold (300g) based upon the calculated lead
Now pays up to 10% of the gold difference on top of the base bounty payment, capped at 1000g total
Lesser objectives (such as Outer Turrets) that have lower base bounty also have lower payouts from the gold lead
Calculation
Adjusted Objective Bounty calculation for accuracy: Gold leads are more important; other objectives are less important.
Champion Bounties
Suppression
Still waits until 6 minutes in the game until champion bounty suppression is active
No longer suppresses bounties when a team is moderately behind
Now suppresses bounties unless a team is moderately ahead
Tuning
Base kill gold now scales up by 10g per level from level 7-18 (Maximum: 420g)
Positive bounty accrued from kills and assists has been increased by 17%
Positive bounty accrued from farming has been increased by 14%
Void Epic Monsters
We’re making a few changes to the pre-Baron Epic Monsters in the Void pit, to alleviate how demanding objectives are during early-mid game. The biggest change: We’re removing one of the Void Grub encounters. Rewards and spawn times have been adjusted accordingly. In addition, we’ve done some quality of life work on the objectives and their rewards. Hopefully, the result is better pacing and less mental overhead from the Void Epics in your SR games.
Void Grubs
Encounter
Spawn timer: 6:00 ⇒ 8:00 minutes
No longer respawns
Rewards
Now grants Hunger of the Void (single Void Mite buff) when you kill 3 Grubs, rather than 4
Now grants Feats credit to whichever team took 2/3 Grubs, rather than requiring 3/3 (broadcast when the encounter is over)
DoT from Touch of the Void now deals more damage at stacks 2 and 3
Rift Herald
Encounter
Encounter damage should be less avoidable, but the encounter should go faster.
Fixed non-champion attacks reducing the eyeball cooldown
Summoned Pet
Making QoL changes to increase value consistency.
Base turret charge damage increased, but turret charge damage goes down for each tower it hits
Driving turn speed should be smoother and more responsive, especially early in the driving sequence
When driving, if you crash near an enemy turret without hitting it, the Rift Herald will attempt to perform the non-driven turret charge attack, if able
Position Binding & Role Swapping
We’re making some small, but important, changes to the jungle and support roles: Jungle will be auto-assigned smite and only one smite will be allowed per team. In a similar vein, support players will now automatically be given World Atlas as their starting item. Check out the dev blog for more details.
This shouldn’t impact gameplay, but we think it will lead to less trolling and pre-game mistakes that cost you the game before it’s even started.
To make sure you can arrange your team in light of these new rules, we’re adding the ability to swap roles with other players in champ select.
We’re also taking this time to break out some of our lane swapping rules and attach them to the support specifically. No longer will laners be directly penalized because Pyke walked across the lane after a late invade. Lissandra can freely roam top for a level 3 gank without removing hundreds of experience from her own team. However, we’re still retaining some of the old functionality to prevent situations like Sion and Kai’Sa duo laning top to start the game.
Lane Swap Detection
Detection still requires there to be a jungler on the team
Detection is still active from 1:30 to 3:00 in top, and 1:30 to 2:15 in mid
Defending champion still receives all gold/xp from the lane, receives 50% less damage while under their tower in top lane, and the defending tower still receives 95% less damage while any two non-junglers are in their lane
Non-supports no longer receive reduced gold and XP from lane minions during lane swap detection
Supports in mid and top lane, when accompanied by another champion, now receive no gold or XP from lane minions and cannot consume World Atlas charges
1000% increased turret damage in the top lane is now locked behind seeing two non-junglers including a support in the lane
Death Screen
We’re making some small improvements to the death screen to make League’s lowest moments slightly less miserable. We’ve added a tiny bit of color and a spectate UI to click around and see what’s going on around the map. Your normal camera controls and hotkeys still work as well
Kill Streak SFX
The Kill Streak SFX discussed in the last dev update still need a bit more time in the oven, so they are not included in patch 25.09. Stay tuned for these in an upcoming patch!
Player Behavior Updates
Griefing Detection Upgrades
We’re releasing significant upgrades to in-game griefing detection in ranked queues with patch 25.09. Check out the dev blog for more details. Participating in a match where your teammates aren’t playing to win or are intentionally playing to lose is miserable and unacceptable. We will detect and action on more subtle behaviors that aren’t just “running down mid lane and dying 20 times.”
Feedback Specificity
To demonstrate followthrough on the above and to better close the loop with you when you’re affected by negative behavior, we’ll be providing the name of the penalized player when you receive feedback about your reports.
When a player that you reported is penalized for any recent match, the notification you receive will now include the name of the reported player.
When a player you did not report was penalized for the match you played with them, the notification you receive will now include the name of the penalized player.
Misc Changes
Chat restrictions now apply to champion select and post-game chat, in addition to in-game.
SR Ranked Season 2
Season 2 of ranked will start April 30 at noon according to your local server time. As stated in 25.08 patch notes, season 2 2025 will NOT reset your ranked progression, and will not require placement games. Victorious Missions however will be reset (requiring 15 ranked games won this season).
Ranked Queues (solo/duo and Flex) will be disabled during the season cooldown hours, which will be April 29 midnight to April 30 noon local server time.
You can expect Season 1 rewards to be granted during the 25.09 patch cycle.
As a last note, Shard transfer services will be disabled before season end, and re-enabled after the reward grant is complete.
Q damage increased. W mana cost decreased. R magic penetration increased.
Annie released weaker than intended, specifically during her early game. We’re looking to amplify her identity as a burst mage, ease her laning phase, and reduce her mana costs which have been a pain point as of late.
Ashe is a touch weak right now, so we’re adding some power to her mid-to-late game teamfights to help her thrive in cases where she finds space and time to focus down her targets.
As a new surge of Gwen players have gotten better at her, the apparent rise in mastery has been offsetting some of our recent nerfs. As she’s still one of the strongest champions in the game, and the single strongest one in jungle, we’re delivering some more nerfs to keep up with how well all of you are playing her.
K’Sante has been quite sad in Solo Queue recently, and had very little presence in Pro due to a particular ap tank busting top laner. In this patch we’ll be buffing his W rank-up incentive slightly to better even out the discrepancy between maxing W and E second. In addition, we’re updating his default item shop page to show more tank items which should help avoid non-optimal itemization choices.
Item Shop
K’Sante’s default shop page has been updated to display tank items instead of fighter items.
Base health and AD decreased, AD growth increased. E damage decreased.
Kalista is experiencing a very high ban rate in Pro due to a strong early game and the ability to enable her support pairings. These changes are targeted to significantly reduce her early game strength, while granting some compensation to her power level throughout the game.
Passive duration increased. Q mana cost decreased. E mana cost decreased.
Leona is falling slightly behind her tanky support counterparts and we think some slight adjustments to her mana especially in early game should help. Additionally, we think her allies should feel that they have leeway using her passive on minions or champions, so we’re increasing its duration a tad.
E shield strength increased. R damage and bonus movement speed increased.
Morgana has fallen behind in terms of power in all of her roles. Currently, her ultimate doesn’t quite give her enough mobility to prevent her opponents from escaping. So to help her lock down her targets, we’re giving her ult more power and a stronger Black Shield to incentivize playmaking and increase success.
The dawg’s mastery curve continues to climb as players learn the limits of her new kit. We’re targeting generic nerfs to her in both roles, but looking to maintain her as viable in both jungle and mid. Turns out a lot of you know what the dog doin.
Orianna has hit a point where she’s in need of a small buff. Her mana costs are among the most painful in the game, so we’re looking to address that by allowing her to cast her most spammable spell sliiiiiiiightly more often.
Q – Command: Attack
Mana Cost: 30 / 35 / 40 / 45 / 50 ⇒ 35 at all ranks
We’ve done a pass on Rengar’s recommended items for top and jungle, prioritizing items that perform better. Like most item changes, we expect this to result in a small, indirect buff for our favorite jungle cat.
Recommended Items
Rengar’s recommended items have been updated to display items better for Top and Jungle.
We’re happy with recent Shen buffs directionally, but they haven’t quite hit the magnitude we’re looking for. We’ve given him more utility, but what he needs now is more damage to actually fight it out in lanes. It’s time to bring it back.
Q – Twilight Assault
Empowered Bonus Magic Damage: 10-40 (based on level) (+ 4 / 4.5 / 5 / 5.5 / 6% target’s max HP) ⇒ 10-40 (based on level) (+ 5 / 5.5 / 6 / 6.5 / 7% target’s max HP)
Another patch, another Yorick change! Look, we’re just going for thematically resonant changes at this point. After all, he can’t die. We’re looking to reduce his power level in the jungle a little, as he’s still a bit overboard in that role.
Passive – Shepard of Souls
Mist Walker Damage to Monsters: 70% ⇒ 60%
Pinged Abilities
Cho’Gath and Nunu & Willump can ping their Smite-like abilities to display their damage to teammates.
We’re extending the custom ability-ping system to Cho’Gath’s Feast and Nunu & Willump’s Consume. When these abilities are off of cooldown, players can ping them to display their damage to monsters.
R – Feast and Q – Consume
May be pinged to display the total damage to monsters when off of cooldown
Boots of Swiftness are a bit overpowered relative to other boots, leading to champions zipping around combat more than we’d like. Ultimately, we’re going with a small direct nerf that should keep it in line with other boot options.
Symbiotic Soles are a solid option for supports, which we’re very happy about, but they’re too game-warping for laners, as the empowered Recall lets them quickly reset every few waves, removing all sense of attrition. So we’re making some adjustments to retain their power for roaming around the map but make them worse when spamming Recall over and over.
Rod of Ages’ new build path has made it overtake mage mana itemization, and as a result, its high durability has slowed down champion interactions below what we think makes for the best gameplay. We think as a whole, mages are rather balanced and we intend to ship a larger pass on mage itemization to make sure all AP items are worthy of purchasing in an upcoming patch, but right now we want to tap the newly-popular Rod of Ages to make sure bursty champions can attack more normal-sized health pools.
Initial Health: 400 ⇒ 350
Maximum Health: 500 ⇒ 450
Initial Ability Power: 50 ⇒ 45
Maximum Ability Power: 80 ⇒ 75
Tier 3 Boot Upgrades
Feats of Strength have two rewards: immediate power in the form of Triumphant boot upgrades, and the option to later purchase tier 3 boots. Over time, as we’ve seen players optimize the Feats system, it’s become apparent that having the option to upgrade to T3 boots generally isn’t useful as they are mostly too weak for their cost. We’ve held off on buffing them as we didn’t want to inject significantly more overall MS into the game, but with a rework to Swiftmarch and some small changes to the other tier 3 boots, we’re moving the system to a place where the T3 boots can be made more competitive with other options.
Armored Advance

Chainlaced Crushers

Crimson Lucidity

Total Bonus Movespeed Out of Combat: 10% ⇒ 8%
Gunmetal Greaves
Cost: 750 ⇒ 500 gold
Spellslinger’s Shoes
Cost: 750 ⇒ 500 gold
Magic Penetration: 8% ⇒ 7%
Swiftmarch
Cost: 750 ⇒ 500 gold
Movement Speed: 70 ⇒ 65
REMOVED: No longer grants 4% increased total Movement Speed
NEW: Now grants Adaptive Force equal to 5% of total Movement Speed
In the eternal Ignite vs. Teleport debate, Ignite has come up on the losing end as of late. It’s a bit under-picked, so we’re giving it a meaningful buff to its late game damage, specifically aimed at mid and top laners.
Biscuits are intended to be a lane sustain tool with some decision-making around their optimal usage, but their current state highly rewards saving them until as late in the game as possible and using them at as close to death as possible. Some decision-making is desirable, but we don’t love the hold-for-midgame-skirmish strategies or how pushed the power of biscuits are when the user is extremely low, so we’re taking a swing at both of these.
Health Restoration: 12% of missing health over 5 seconds ⇒ 20 (+ 2% maximum health, increased by up to 100% based on user’s missing health) (Note: this maxes out at 70% missing health)
Among the options in its drawer, Unflinching is competing with a scaling rune (Overgrowth) and a kit-bound rune (Revitalize). In order to make it make sense in this slot compared to the other options, we’re shifting it to be an early game-skewed counter option.
Bonus Armor and MR: 6-12 (based on level) ⇒ 10 at all levels
ARAM
Hello ARAMers! In this patch, we’re continuing to lightly buff champions who have hovered around a 50% win rate, helping them better fit their roles. For Maokai and Kog’Maw, both have been heavily nerfed for a while. We’re trading some spell damage for overall damage boosts—giving Maokai more teamfight sustain, and leaning into Kog’Maw’s unique anti-tank role while keeping his power in check.

In the past, we talked about our dedication to bring a higher-quality feel to Prestige skins by exploring a range of design choices. As Spirit Blossom is one of our most resonant and beloved thematics, it’s no surprise we didn’t miss the chance to go deeper into the thematic side and really push the beautiful, spiritual VFX and materials. We feel like touches like Lux’s hand-animated, flowing sleeves and the pearl and crystal motifs really bring that Prestige feel, but we want to hear what you think as we continue to experiment. Let us know!

Fixed an issue where if Warwick would die while his W passive was active on an enemy, a turret could continue attacking his corpse (even after Warwick respawned apparently).
Fixed an issue where when using the Final Boss Veigar skin, killing a minion would sometimes cause the gold amount to appear above Veigar’s head.
Fixed an issue that caused Bard’s R VFX to sometimes not fully appear due to terrain elevation changes.
Fixed an issue where Atakahn’s unique voice line from killing Sahn-Uzal Mordekaiser wouldn’t play.
Fixed an issue where Mordekaiser’s Passive aura duration was only 4 seconds instead of the correct 5 seconds.
Fixed an issue that caused Vex’s Homeguard animation to not correctly play.
Fixed an issue where killing Voidmites could trigger unit kill effects such as Garen’s W or Yorick’s Passive. They should no longer trigger them.
Fixed an issue that caused the SFX of champions spawning to not play.
Fixed an issue where takedowns with Axiom Arcanist while an ultimate was ready would cause an ultimate to trigger a brief cooldown.
Fixed an issue where Poppy’s W could trigger on targets landing after using teleport.
Fixed an issue where Bloodsong could increase the damage taken from Death’s Dance bleed effect.
Fixed an issue where if Yone uses his W while he’s being hit with a Quinn E it would fire in the incorrect direction. (Our best guess here was he was trying to surprise 360 no-scope a W, he should just fire the W in your desired direction now, or you can choose to imagine he’s doing the 360 correctly, just really fast).
Fixed an issue where Yun Tal Wildarrow’s Practice Makes Lethal effect would not stack from certain on-attack abilities.
Fixed an issue where Illoai’s Passive or R tentacle slam damage could travel through different realms.
Fixed a bug where Dunkmaster Ivern’s shadow was missing after exiting base in ARAM and SR river.
Fixed a bug where Base Ivern, Old God, and Candy King’s Friend of the Forest (P) ability clipped through certain walls and did not render above the walls as intended.
Fixed a bug where Shan Hai Scrolls Bard’s Traveler’s Call (P) ability slow VFX (present on targets) disappears abruptly.
Fixed a bug where chime move speed buff SFX persisted on Viego in certain circumstances.
Riot has also detailed the new Battle Pass, in case you want to know more about it.
Following the release of a major update for DOOM + DOOM 2 earlier this month, id Software has issued a minor update today on all platforms that primarily fixes audio issues. Last-gen console players will see this as DOOM + DOOM 2 update 1.06, and it should be a very small download file.
If you’re gaming on PS5/Xbox Series, you’ll be prompted to download DOOM + DOOM 2 update version 3.000, and this has the same fix as the last-gen version.
Fans of Borderlands have something exciting to look forward to as Borderlands 4 is set to release earlier than originally planned.
DOOM + DOOM 2 SIGIL 2 Music Bug Fixed via April 29 Patch
The major addition of the content drop for DOOM + DOOM 2 was the addition of SIGIL II. Here’s what id Software had to say about the new addition:
SIGIL II
SIGIL II is now officially included as part of the DOOM + DOOM II package. It is available from the game select menu at startup. Note: Save games from the Mods version are not compatible with the officially included version. However, the existing Mods version will remain online to users subscribed to it.
While that’s an awesome addition to the game, it did have some audio issues. Today’s patch resolves this, with the developers stating, “Sigil II music pitch has been corrected.” The devs also thanked the people who reached out to the studio about it.
With the game not getting monthly updates, expect the next major one to be far out into the future. If you’re looking for more DOOM, the latest game in the franchise is out next month, we managed to get some hands-onn time with DOOM: The Dark Ages, and were impressed with what id Software has cooked up so far.

Incur Deadly Apparitions in a New Event
Belial makes his first bid for Sanctuary since Lilith met her tragic end. His Apparition Monsters—illusory foot soldiers who sow his lies into reality—have been spotted throughout Sanctuary.
You must cull them from your home by participating in the new Apparition Incursion event. Any character playing on any Difficulty Level can participate in this event. The event occurs in a different part of Sanctuary’s wilderness every few minutes, so keep an eye on your map for its current location.
Once you’ve arrived, it’s time to send the imposters back to their master’s imagination. Apparition Monsters can be identified by Belial’s mark of a sickening green eye on their bodies. Cutting deeply through the monster’s ranks will force 1 of 10 Apparition Boss’s to hunt you down. Killing them will provide you with their unique Boss Power. You’ll run through this test of skill a second time before Belial, a more comprehensible version of him, attempts to smite you.
Completing the Apparition Incursion event is a great way to unlock new Boss Powers while leveling up your character.
Grow Your Reputation
Sending Belial’s Apparition Monsters packing is no easy task. Overcome Belial’s band of illusion spreaders, complete Apparition Incursion events, and slay Bosses across Sanctuary to earn Reputation. This Reputation can be exchanged for long-forgotten caches containing uncommon items, such as a Resplendent Spark, Hoard Keys, and more.
Lair Boss Rework
Bosses formerly known as Endgame or Ladder Bosses have been broken out into 3 tiers: Initiate, Greater, and Exalted Lair Bosses to convey their varying difficulty and rewards.
Initiate Lair Bosses: Beast in the Ice, Grigoire, Lord Zir, Varshan, and Urivar (available for Vessel of Hatred owners only).
Greater Lair Bosses: Andariel, Duriel, and Harbringer of Hatred (available for Vessel of Hatred owners only).
Exalted Lair Bosses: Belial, Lord of Lies.
You must be on Torment Difficulty I or higher to fight any Lair Boss.
Lair Boss Loot
Lair Bosses no longer require boss materials to summon and provide a vastly reduced reward upon death. Instead, when a Lair boss dies, a chest called a Hoard will spawn containing its loot. Each player must individually use Lair Boss keys to open their Hoard.
The first Unique item dropped by a Lair Boss will be from their unique pool. Further Unique Items will have a 50% chance to be from the general Unique pool. In Torment Difficulty III, an additional guaranteed Unique item from the item pool will drop.
When playing in a party, Lair Bosses have a 33% chance per additional party member to drop an extra Unique Item from their unique pool.
More loot will drop from Lair Bosses. Lair Bosses now drop 7 Unique Items in Torment IV, instead of 6.
Lair Boss Keys
Each boss requires a number Lair Boss Keys to unlock their Hoard. Here’s a breakdown:
Initiate: 12
Greater: 3
Exalted: 2
This is one specific item for each boss, such as: Malignant Heart (Varshan), Living Steel (Grigorie), Distilled Fear (Beast in the Ice), Exquisite Blood (Lord Zir), Judicator’s Mask (Urivar), Shard of Agony (Duriel), Pin-Cushioned Doll (Andariel), Hatred Hearts (Harbringer of Hatred, Betrayer’s Husk (Belial, Lord of Lies).
All Initiate Lair Bosses have the chance to drop a Stygian Stone, which can be converted into any Greater Lair Boss Key of your choice.
Lair Boss Keys can stack up to 99.
Increased the number of Lair Boss Keys you receive each time:
Helltide Chests will drop more Living Steel.
Nightmare Dungeons will drop more Distilled Fear.
Blood Maiden will drop more Exquisite Blood for each contributed Baneful Heart.
Legion Events drop more Exquisite Blood.
World Bosses drop more Exquisite Blood.
Random Boss Keys are more likely to be a key other than Malignant Heart.
Locating Boss Lairs—the home of Lair Bosses
Boss Lairs have a unique map icon to help distinguish them.
Once discovered, you can now teleport directly to a Boss Lair using the new teleport feature.
Each Boss Lair description on the map lists the required Lair Boss Key and if you currently own a sufficient amount.

Fans of Borderlands have something exciting to look forward to as Borderlands 4 is set to release earlier than originally planned.
Instead of the previously announced September 23 release date, Gearbox’s next installment will now be launched on September 12, which is 11 days earlier.
Borderlands 4 Coming 11 Days Sooner Than Expected
Announcement about the Borderlands 4 launch date – Please watch until the end: pic.twitter.com/cF85jG1p09
This surprising announcement came directly from Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford, who shared the news in a social media video. In the video, Pitchford expressed his excitement, explaining that everything was going smoothly in development, which led to the game being ready earlier than expected.
Pitchford said that the game is “awesome” and the team has been “cooking.” Aside from Pitchford, the official Borderlands account on X also confirmed the news, stating, “After careful consideration—along with a LOT of meetings, playtesting, and incredible development work—we have made the monumental decision to MOVE UP THE LAUNCH DATE OF BORDERLANDS 4 to SEPTEMBER 12.”
The release date announcement also revealed that a Borderlands 4 State of Play is set to air tomorrow, April 30, at 2 pm PT/5 pm ET/5 am HKT. We’re presuming more gameplay, the different editions that will be sold and perhaps the roadmap for the game will be part of the showcase.
This early release is a welcome surprise, but many speculate that the date shift may be linked to GTA 6. With GTA 6 expected to launch in late September or early October, Gearbox might have decided to move Borderlands 4’s release up to avoid being overshadowed by GTA 6.
In related news, The CEO of Gearbox Software has called for more positive and supportive messages for developers regarding Borderlands 4, stating that if fans want the best Borderlands experience, they should “cheer and root for us.”
Borderlands 4 will launch on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, with a Switch 2 version expected to release later in 2025.
Another former Xbox exclusive is now out on PS5! Playground Games’ racing sim is now out on Sony’s console. Players who are riding out today will be greeted by Forza Horizon 5 update 1.684.150, which is the game’s day-one patch on PS5.
Xbox and PC gamers, today’s patch is only for the PS5 version, which is understandable given the game’s debut on the platform, and there are bugs that needs to be squashed.
Just a few days ago, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was released, and to the surprise of many, the turn-based RPG turned out to be a massive critical hit garnering scores that made it the best-reviewed game of 2025 so far.
Forza Horizon 5 Day-One Update Fixes Photo Mode
General
Performance and stability fixes
Photo Mode
Fixed an issue where the game would crash when accessing Photo Mode on PS5 Pro in Quality Mode
Those are the only fixes made by Playground Games today, though I expect more will be released in the coming weeks and months.
If you’re on the fence whether to pick up the studio’s debut racing game on PS5, our review speaks highly of it, stating, “Forza Horizon 5 was already a standout in the franchise when it released in 2021, and it is still every bit as good as it was then in its new release on PS5. Following the release of the big Trygon update for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 earlier this month, Saber Interactive has released the second patch aimed at fixing issues tied to the update.
Saber tags this as patch 7.2, which console gamers will see as Space Marine 2 update 1.007.002 as a small download.
While DICE has shared bits and info about the new Battlefield game, there's not a lot of gameplay to accompany it.

As expected, following yesterday’s big “Invaders of Oakveil” content drop for V Rising, the developers of Stunlock has already released the first hotfix for the game today that aims to fix issues brought on by the DLC.
Console players should see this as V Rising update 1.100.003, and the fixes include both technical and gameplay-related bug fixes.

V Rising Gets Follow-Up Patch Version 1.100.003 for Invaders of Oakveil on April 29
There aren’t a lot of fixes in today’s patch, but it’s to be expected given the DLC isn’t even 24 hours old at this point. Nonetheless, here are the fixes via Stunlock:
General
Fixed prisons getting stuck with the wrong inventory state.
Fixed an issue where Jewelcrafting stations could be dismantled while crafting.
Fixed an issue where an arena was allowed to set up multiple contests at the same time, which could cause some odd interactions.
Fixed an issue with admin commands where GiveCombatPreset could put a user in a progression locked state.
Mortium Rift Incursion Interval setting now has its values restricted only to valid value options.
Fixed an issue where DLC was not properly connecting to Steam authentication, causing DLC items to be inconsistently unavailable.
Fixed an issue in server host settings where values for maximum connected users and maximum connected admins could be set to negative numbers, or numbers above the 128 hard cap.
A minor patch was also released that fixes visual issues on PC, which we’re presuming has been baked into the console patch as well. If we get another patch released that’s aimed at fixes, expect it here on MP1st.

Released in 2014 and developed by Ubisoft Montreal, a new title update will greet Far Cry 4 players if they boot the game. If you haven’t played the story-driven shooter, now might be the perfect time to play it on your current-gen consoles.
If you own the game, Far Cry 4 update 1.08 will be available for download, and this lets the game run natively at 60 frames-per-second on the PS5!

Far Cry 4 Gets 60fps Performance Update
The PS4’s update history notes “Support 60 FPS on PS5® console” as the only thing mentioned that has been added today. It’s understandable given the game has been out for more than 10 years already. I’m surprised we even got a patch for it, frankly speaking.
For those wondering about the Xbox version, the 6ofps feature has been available for the Xbox Series X|S since 2021 as part of its FPS Boost initiative.
If you’re considering getting Far Cry 4, you’re in luck! The ongoing PlayStation Store Big Games, Big Deals sale has the game for a super-low price of $4.99, 75% off the regular price.
Here are some of Far Cry 4’s features that might entice you to snag it if you still don’t own it:
Far Cry 4 Key Features
EXPLORE AN OPEN WORLD FILLED WITH POSSIBILITIES
Discover the most diverse Far Cry world ever created. With terrain spanning from lush forests to the snowcapped Himalayas, the entire world is alive…and deadly.
– From leopards, rhinos, black eagles, and vicious honey badgers, Kyrat is home to abundant wildlife. As you embark on your hunt for resources, know that something may be hunting you…
– Scout enemy territory from above in the all-new gyrocopter and then plummet back to earth in your wing suit. Climb aboard the back of a six-ton elephant and unleash its raw power on your enemies.
– Choose the right weapon for the job, no matter how insane or unpredictable that job might be. With a diverse arsenal, you’ll be prepared for anything.
CO-OP: BRING A FRIEND
Not every journey should be taken alone. Far Cry 4 allows for a second player to drop in and drop out at any point, re-imagining the cooperative experience in the true spirit of Far Cry for the next generation. You’ll now be able to discover and explore the living open world of Kyrat together.
Hopefully, other games like the older Assassin’s Creed games get this as well.
In case you missed the news, Assassin's Creed Shadows is one of Ubisoft's biggest launches for an Assassin's Creed game, only trailing behind Assassin's Creed Valhalla for the time being when it comes to how many players have played it.
Saber Interactve has released the latest hotfix for zombie shooter World War Z that’s available for download now on all platforms. Players should see this as World War Z update 1.67, and this brings a quality-of-life addition that helps make the Community Challenge counter a little easier to spot.
This should appear as WWZ update download 1.030 for those playing on current-gen platforms. It has the same list of fixes as the last-gen version.

World War Z Hotfix Released on April 29 After Major Content Patch Drop
Earlier this month, Saber Interactive released a content patch that introduced a rework of the Extinction mode, added community challenges and more. As expected with major content updates, a bug or two managed to sneak out, and this latest patch should fix that.
Fixed a bug where a player would not receive the “Memento Mori” frame after joining or returning to an already started game.
Fixed a soft-lock in the Heavy Weapons customization menu.
Fixed the activation mechanics of the “Jammer” perk for the Defensive SMG WASP-180.
Fixed a bug where the player would not receive a drone when activating the “Drone Army” mutator.
Fixed an issue with empty slots in the collection that could interfere with navigation.
Fixed the description for the “Doppelganger” mutator in English and Russian.
Quality of Life
Added visual separation of numbers in the goal counter for the Community Challenge.
Extinction Mode
Fixed a bug where the player does not receive a reward after finishing the game during the episode rotation.
Fixed the incorrect pop-up text about the chapter unavailability if a party member doesn’t have the DLC unlocked.
Fixed an issue that made it impossible for players who didn’t have the Extinction Mode unlocked to accept an invite to this mode.
Fixed the confirmation button in the “mode unavailable” pop-up.
Will we get another content drop for World War Z? Saber Interactive hasn’t said anything, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we did, given the zombie shooter seems to have a solid playerbase.
Just a few days ago, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was released, and to the surprise of many, the turn-based RPG turned out to be a massive critical hit garnering scores that made it the best-reviewed game of 2025 so far.
Yeah, not much to be excited for, though unsurprising, considering that the Xbox did get a major update earlier this month. As a refresher, here’s what that update brought:
New Update Features:
Stream your own game
If you have an active Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, you can stream select games that you own in addition to the Game Pass library. This feature is available for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
To get started streaming:
Go to My games & apps > Full library > Owned games.
Use the filter to sort by Cloud gaming.
Choose a game that you want to stream, and then select Play with cloud gaming.
Free up space in your library
There are now more ways to improve the storage space on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S.
Your library displays new info about unused content, shrinkable games, duplicate items, and games that players no longer have access to.
To manage this storage feature, go to My games & apps > Manage > Free up space.
Hopefully, if anyone had issues with the last update, this one will improve things.

The First Berserker Khazan update 1.006.003 has begun rolling out across platforms, though don’t expect anything significant (especially since a major update came in April), as this update is all about addressing some in-game issues.
Here’s what’s been fixed with today’s update.
The First Berserker Khazan Update 1.006.003 Brings Crash and Freeze Fixes
According to the developers, this is what this update addresses.
Fixed an issue where the character or game client would freeze when quickly switching weapons during an attack.
Fixed an issue where the game would crash when entering the ending credits after completing the “Stand Alone” achievement following the April 22 update.
Like I said, a minor update that addresses a few crashes and freezes.
