We’re happy with where the Marine SP sits in class with total damage. Comparing the weapon to other weapons in its class, however, it’s clear how sluggish this weapon could feel due to its rechamber and segmented reload characteristics. Adjustments

  • Attachment Filter for Modern Warfare Weapons Quality of Life
    • An improved attachment filtering system has been added for Modern Warfare weapons. This enhancement introduces category-specific filters to streamline the attachment selection process, making it easier to navigate large inventories and quickly find the desired attachments.
  • Death Recap Widget Quality of Life
    • The Death Recap system has been expanded in Season 03 Reloaded to provide clearer insight into the conditions that contributed to your death. New indicators include:
      • Affected by Heartbeat Sensor: Indicates the enemy detected your position with the heartbeat sensor equipment.
      • Affected by Body Shield on Teammate: Indicates your position was revealed by a teammate who was body shield by an enemy.
      • Affected by Resurgence Mark: Indicates your position was revealed by a teammate who died in Resurgence game mode.
      • Affected by Prox Alarm: Indicated your position was revealed by a Prox Alarm tactical equipment.

  • Damage Overlay Opacity Quality of Life
    • The full-screen red damage overlay triggered by armor damage has had its opacity reduced by 50%, creating a less visually intense experience when under fire.
  • Double Killstreak Overwrite Notification Quality of Life
    • When two enemy Killstreaks are activated within three seconds of each other, the second notification will now interrupt and replace the first. This ensures both are delivered promptly and players can react appropriately.
      • Previously, the second notification would wait for the first to finish, often resulting in delayed awareness.
  • Death Skull Icon Improvements Quality of Life
    • The death skull icon has been adjusted to scale more appropriately with distance. It will now appear larger when close by, making it easier to spot, while taking up less screen space when viewed from afar.

This change builds on an earlier update that added the skull icon to help players identify where they died and recover their loadouts. Based on feedback, we’ve fine-tuned the scaling to reduce visual clutter at long range.

Xbox Price Increase for Consoles, Games, and Accessories Announced; $80 for First-Party Games Confirmed

[summaraize]

Microsoft has just announced that it is planning a significant price increase for the Xbox line. This will affect both Xbox Series consoles and the prices of its first-party games in the near future. Accessories will also see price hikes, but they will be more moderate.

One of the biggest increases is for the Xbox Series X. Both the disc version and the all-digital version will become $100 more expensive, with the 2TB version increasing by almost $130.

Xbox Series X to Get $100 Price Hike; Games to Reach $80

Price Increase of the Xbox Series X|S

The price increases will apply globally, in all markets where Microsoft operates. However, the company’s headsets will only see price hikes in the United States and Canada. Microsoft explained that this decision came after “careful consideration given market conditions and the rising cost of development.”

Here are the updated prices:

  • Xbox Series S 512GB – $379.99 (previously $299.99)
  • Xbox Series S 1TB – $429.99 (previously $349.99)
  • Xbox Series X Digital – $549.99 (previously $449.99)
  • Xbox Series X – $599.99 (previously $499.99)
  • Xbox Series X 2TB Galaxy Special Edition – $729.99 (previously $599.99)
  • Xbox Wireless Controller (Core) – $64.99
  • Xbox Wireless Controller (Color) – $69.99
  • Xbox Wireless Controller – Special Edition – $79.99
  • Xbox Wireless Controller – Limited Edition – $89.99 (previously $79.99)
  • Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Core) – $149.99 (previously $139.99)
  • Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 (Full) – $199.99 (previously $179.99)
  • Xbox Stereo Headset – $64.99
  • Xbox Wireless Headset – $119.99 (previously $109.99)

Microsoft also clarified that prices for some new first-party titles will rise from $69.99 to $79.99 by the end of the year. While a specific date hasn’t been set, the new prices are expected to start appearing in stores and digital platforms near the holiday season.

With these changes, Microsoft joins Nintendo among the major gaming names that will begin charging $80 for their first-party releases. Given the current situation, it wouldn’t be surprising if Sony and third-party studios such as Square Enix and Take-Two Interactive also adopted the new pricing model.

In addition, the price increases may also be linked to tariffs on Chinese goods that were imposed by President Trump’s administration, as Xbox consoles are mostly made in China. However, Microsoft has not directly said that tariffs are the main reason for the price hikes.

Moroi Review – A Dreamlike Journey Through Darkness

Violet Saint’s debut title, Moroi, is an isometric, action-driven game with puzzle elements draped with a horror aesthetic. It’s now out, and we had the chance to explore its eerie, dreamlike world ahead of release to see if the gameplay beneath it matches the atmosphere.

Is this one horror worth experiencing for PC players? Or is this a title best left on the basement? Read on and find out.

What Horror Lies in Moroi?

Looking at Moroi, it’s easy to understand the twisted minds that went into designing the levels, characters, and the general atmosphere, as it oozes with a surrealist and unsettling mood that draws from David Lynch’s work. This is undoubtedly its biggest strength, as the world of Moroi is a rather dark and gloomy one, but not in a bad way; instead, it’s hauntingly beautiful, like stepping into a dream that teeters on the edge of a nightmare. The environments feel deliberately disjointed, the characters seem familiar and alien, and every corner hides something that feels slightly off, inviting curiosity and unease in equal measure. It’s not horror in the traditional sense, but a slow, creeping dread that settles into your bones the longer you stay.

There are some more vibrant, colored areas in the game, with humor sprinkled throughout the characters, like your eventual meeting with a talking duck who offers its teeth for weapon upgrading. The joke is that ducks don’t have teeth, yet here we are, talking to a duck with teeth that it’s willing to pull out for you. But for the most part, expect encounters and level designs to revolve around a much grimmer setting, with one such early encounter being with a meatgrinder that wants you to jump inside it so that it could murder you in the most gruesome way imaginable.

Its world feels stitched together from fragments of forgotten dreams and feverish hallucinations, where logic takes a backseat to atmosphere and emotion. Every interaction, from the grotesque to the hilarious, feels intentional and layered, rewarding players who enjoy deciphering meaning from madness. Unfortunately, a lot of that gets taken away from the game’s overall experience, as once you begin to settle into the world and look past the visuals and beautifully designed sets, the world of Moroi doesn’t offer much else.

Much of the questlines offered by NPCs can pretty much be summed up as fetch quests, and going around and exploring to find said items typically involves either dealing with waves of enemies or solving puzzles. The puzzles might as well have not been in the game, given how mindless some of them could be. Some can be a bit challenging, but for the most part, I did feel like they were relatively easy, to the point that I’d hardly call them puzzles.

The combat, though, is my biggest disappointment, as it mostly comes across as barebones due to its straightforward design. Built with a top-down perspective, Moroi at times will almost feel like it wants to be a twin-stick shooter, only with melee, which isn’t a bad idea. It’s just that the execution isn’t very enjoyable, as you’ll find it lacking in any real challenge, even on the higher difficulty settings. Instead, fights feel like they’re meant to be drawn out, which is especially true for boss fights, which brings out the tediousness of the general gameplay. It’s not the worst thing I’ve ever played, far from it, it’s just that there doesn’t feel to be enough to really “grab” you and make you want to play through all of it. Often, it can feel clunky, especially when using a controller. I suppose there’s a reason a mouse and keyboard are recommended for playing, as the game did play better, although not to the point where it made a significant difference.

In the end, Moroi is a game that thrives on atmosphere but struggles with gameplay. Its surreal world is unforgettable, but the shallow combat and uninspired quest design make it hard to stay invested for long. It’s a fascinating experience—just not always a fun one. Fortunately, it’s only $15, not a big ask, and I would still definitely check it out

Score: 7/10

Pros:

  • Strong emotional and visual consistency throughout the game world and characters.
  • Oozes with a surreal, unsettling mood inspired by David Lynch’s work.
  • Fun humor at times.
  • Overall, the story is alright.

Cons:

  • Once the visual novelty fades, there’s little substance to keep players engaged.
  • Many of the quests boil down to being fetch quests, and they’re just not that interesting.
  • Puzzles aren’t well thought out, and at times, feel thrown in.
  • The combat lacks depth and can be tedious, especially during boss battles.

The publisher provided a review code for Moroi. The platform played on was PC. You can read MP1st’s review and scoring policy right here.

XDefiant Producer Wants Game Companies to Be “More Like Larian, Not Activision”

[summaraize]

There’s no denying that Call of Duty is still the king of multiplayer arcade shooters even after all these years. While the game continues to sell millions with every release, the franchise’s sheen has certainly diminished over the years.

Aside from issues with cheaters, more and more players are getting fed up with the nonstop barrage of anime, cartoon operator skins, cringey emotes, and the like. It seems it’s not only gamers who are tired of it; even developers are.

Mark Rubin, XDefiant producer and was formerly a producer at Infinity Ward, has spoken out against the Call of Duty franchise and states that the game now focuses on making the most money out of its playerbase as possible. This was a comment Rubin made in replying to an XDefiant player over on Twitter/X.

XDefiant Producer Slams Call of Duty and Activison for Money-First Focus

Rubin states, “A lot of games, Call of Duty included just focus on how to make the most money possible out of the player base. They rely heavily on FOMO marketing and EOMM matches. But I feel like it used to be just more about the quality of the game which would drive players to play. And that means making the game more player centric. i.e. less engagement based tactics and higher quality experiences for the players. Better maps, modes etc. ”

The former Call of Duty dev adds that people should play your game because it’s fun, rather than relying on a gargantuan budget to influence people to play your game. He also wants game companies to be more “like Larian, less like Activision,” referring to Larian Studios, the development team behind the highly-successful Baldur’s Gate 3, which didn’t see one expansion for it released even if it amassed millions of units in sales.

“In other words your game should have a high player count because it’s good and people want to play it rather than people playing it because the game has a $250M marketing budget. Everything is just said is very simplified as it would take too long to really go into it. One last simple analogy. Be more like Larian, less like Activision,” Rubin shared.

Rubin isn’t just hating on the Call of Duty franchise as a whole, and followed up his statement by saying, “And just want to add that there are some great people at Activision and their studios. I just think they evolved into something they weren’t and haven’t been able to escape.”

Of course, it’s not like XDefiant didn’t have paid skins and cosmetics, right? This was what another X user said, which Rubin admitted they did have FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) content, and mentioned they “barely” had any marketing budget, and this was the main way they could earn since XDefiant was a free-to-play game.

While I’m not opposed to skins being sold — especially for a free-to-play game — there should be a line drawn somewhere. When your military first-person shooter starts featuring an actual shark as an operator, or a character from Diablo, I’d say that’s too much. With how much Activision is earning with these skins, I don’t see it stopping anytime soon.

In case you didn’t know, XDefiant is about to sunset permanently in a few months’ time. The developers released all their planned content for multiple seasons in one go, which you can experience now for free.

In other Call of Duty news, Season 3 Reloaded of Black Ops 6 and Warzone is kicking off tomorrow, May 1, and not only will it feature new maps, weapons, but even actor, Seth Rogen.

Report: Assassin’s Creed Shadows Multiplayer Mode Reference Unearthed via Datamine

[summaraize]

It looks like Assassin’s Creed Shadows might be adding a multiplayer mode, based on some recent discoveries from the game’s files.

This information comes from modder Sliderv2, who shared various references found in the game’s files on X (formerly Twitter). These references include mentions of multiplayer modes and PvP (Player vs Player) features.

Could Assassin’s Creed Shadows Have a Multiplayer Mode?

Assassin's Creed Shadows Multiplayer Mode

Some of the files contain terms like “RED_PVP_Maps” which strongly suggest that there’s a competitive online mode being planned. If you didn’t know, “Red” was the codename Ubisoft used for Assassin’s Creed Shadows during development.

A few months ago, there were rumors about a co-op/multiplayer mode, codenamed LEAGUE, which was expected to be a post-launch addition. However, no official details or release date were provided at that time.

It’s also important to take these findings with a grain of salt. At the moment, it’s unclear what type of online mode might be added to Shadows or when it could happen. There’s also a chance that these references are leftover code from earlier versions of the game or an unfinished feature that may never make it to release.

Just to clear up any confusion, this multiplayer mode isn’t related to Assassin’s Creed Invictus, the fully multiplayer game we’ve been hearing rumors about. The last Assassin’s Creed game to feature multiplayer was Black Flag (2013), while Unity (2014) offered co-op missions but no competitive play.

If the multiplayer mode is confirmed, it would definitely be a big deal for the series, especially since it’s been over ten years since we’ve seen this mode in an Assassin’s Creed game.

If you’re thinking of getting Assassin’s Creed Shadows, be sure to read our review where we gave it a score of 7.5 out of 10, stating, “Although Assassin’s Creed: Shadows doesn’t quite live up to my lofty expectations, it still delivers a generally good and enjoyable experience.”

Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 2 First Update 2.01.129791 fixes a ton:

Here is the full rundown of what the update introduces:

Game Progression Blockers Fixes

  • Fixed an issue in ‘Lights, Camera, Action!’ where triggering the ‘Air Guitar’ sequence while a dialogue about bugs was active could prevent progress.
  • Fixed an issue in ‘Alone Again’ where cancelling an item’s movement while resetting all items and exiting the box packing interaction made it impossible to place items in the box.
  • Fixed an issue in ‘A Tale of Two Sisters’ where a black screen remained permanently after cleaning up the last item on the payphone.
  • Fixed an issue in ‘Infiltration’ where Kat did not respond to the light signal for distracting Corey.
  • Fixed an issue in ‘Infiltration’ where Corey’s door interaction animation could get stuck in a loop if Kat was asked for help.

  • Fixed a rare issue in ‘Time Capsule’ where the game would not progress after examining all of Nora’s items in the box.
  • Fixed an issue in ‘Time Capsule’ where Swann was unable to turn on the camcorder if the player interacted too quickly, causing dialogue to repeat and the scene to not progress.
  • Fixed an issue in ‘Lost Records’ where Swann could go out of bounds after walking over animal bones.

Achievements Fixes

  • ‘Geez-O-Meow’: fixed a bug preventing the achievement to unlock in some specific situations.
  • ‘Eye See You’: fixed a bug preventing the achievement to unlock in some specific situations.
  • ‘Complete Box Set’: fixed a bug preventing the achievement to unlock in some specific situations.
  • ‘Breakfast Club’: fixed an issue where choosing the line “Hey, we make a good team!” would interrupt the entire dialogue and prevent the achievement to unlock.

Crash Fixes

  • Greatly improved memory management, addressing recurrent ‘out of memory’ crashes on Xbox Series S.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when repeatedly opening the camcorder, switching to the ‘Footage’ tab, and leaving the menu with numerous 1-3 second videos.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when spamming ‘Mark as Favorite’ on videos while switching tabs with numerous 1-3 second videos.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when spamming the ‘Replace’ option in the ‘Edit’ menu of a memoir with a large number of videos to replace.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur after deleting all Junk footage and immediately closing the Camcorder Menu.
  • Fixed a crash in ‘Alone Again’ that could occur when pausing the music video on the TV for a second time.

General Fixes

  • In the scene selection menu, indicated the total number of completed collectible memoirs (appears once the game has been completed).
  • In the scene selection menu, amended the story mode selection pop up to explicit that any story progression, choices and collectibles made after the selected scene will be erased.
  • In the settings menu, for the keyboard/mouse key binding screen, made movement actions available for rebinding (forward, backwards, left, right).
  • In the settings menu, ensured that hovering the mouse on half-shown items in the scroll area forces it to go into view.
  • In the player’s choices ending recap screen, updated thumbnails depending on player’s choice to better illustrate the consequences.
  • In the outfit selection menu, fixed the checkmark disappearing upon scrolling through the opposite outfit category.
  • Revised logic for ‘Read’ interactions (i.e., interaction that displays object’s description) to prevent them from being paused by systemic dialogue flow (they were previously unresponsive when in that state).
  • Fixed mismatches between subtitles localization and voices audio.
  • Improved numerous subtitles timing with voices audio.
  • Improved numerous lipsync animation matching with voices audio.

Baldur’s Gate 3 New Update 1.800.302 Released for Hotfix 30

[summaraize]

While Larian Studios might be done when it comes to introducing new features to Baldur’s Gate 3 after Patch 8, that doesn’t mean the developers are done fixing the game when it needs it. Case ion point: today, Larian released Hotfix 30 for the RPG, which players will see as Baldur’s Gate 3 update 1.800.302 on consoles.

This brings a good list of fixes related to gameplay, crossplay, and other technical issues. While the developers call this a “small hotfix,” the patch notes are anything but.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Latest Update Version 1.800.302 Applies Fixes to Various Issues

Here are the list of fixes by Larian:

  • Fixed lovely Buthir’s arms getting glued to one spot during gameplay.
  • Fixed a bug in a dialogue with Kagha at the Emerald Grove where she would glide across the ground on teeny tiny legs.

Crashes and Blockers

  • Fixed a crash when switching from controller to keyboard and mouse after selecting ‘Venture Forth’.
  • Fixed a potential blocker in some savegames where, somehow, an Aura was stored in the savegame without a valid cause.
  • Fixed a potential crash when dragging corpses’ portraits onto the Party Line.
  • Fixed a potential crash when immediately activating a controller during game startup.
  • Fixed a potential crash related to multiplayer.
  • Fixed a potential crash when launching on Vulkan on Snapdragon devices.
  • Fixed a potential UI-related crash.
  • Fixed a potential crash related to the dialogue UI.

Chances are, this is one of the last few updates Larian has for the game, but if a new one is released, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

  • Ascender’s Altitude Assurance: Fixed a network instability-related bug that could sometimes abruptly yank wall-climbing heroes back to the ground after reaching the highest point. Now, every climb is as steady and heroic as your soaring ambitions!

Don’t forget, the Hellfire Gala Event starts on May 2, though the changes listed in the article should be applied today. There is a chance NetEase might release another patch for the event, though we doubt that will happen.

Returnal Update 3.000.005 Targets PS5 Pro Enhancements

[summaraize]

Housemarque has a surprise treat for Returnal players who own a PS5 Pro. The studio has released a new patch that enhances the shooter, which players will see as a returnal update of 3.000.005.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like this patch applies any gameplay-related changes or bug fixes, though we’re not surprised given the game’s last update before this was three years ago. How time flies, no?

The announcement by the studio confirms the patch released today was to feature “up to 2.5x the pixels” on the beefier console, which means a higher resolution experience.

Returnal Gets PS5 Pro Enhancement as Part of 4th Anniversary

The studio’s announcement was made on Twitter/X where it confirmed the newly-added feature for PS5 Pro owners:

Returnal was released in 2021 as one of the first PS5-exclusive titles showcasing the new console’s power. The third-person rogue-like shooter was Housemarque’s first AAA project and a huge departure from the studio’s smaller games. Returnal’s release was also the same time Sony acquired the Finnish company to join the PlayStation Studios family.

According to the game’s Creative Director, Gregory Louden, Returnal was the game that “allowed” the company to join the PlayStation family. While no sequel is in development, Climax Studios ported Returnal to PC in 2023.

Housemarque is currently developing Saros for the PS5 and is set to be released sometime in 2026.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 DLC Not Ruled Out by Game’s Lead Writer

[summaraize]

While old-school, indie hit RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is nowhere near a short game, especially if you factor in the side missions and optional bosses, could we be getting more content in the form of DLC down the line?

Developer Sandfall Interactive has not officially announced anything yet, but based on the game’s lead writer, it’s not off the table.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 DLC Is a Real Possibility

As part of the game’s massive success, the game’s Lead Writer, Jennifer Svedberg-Yen, took to Instagram to respond to followers on her personal account. One fan ( asked via DM (direct message) whether any DLC is planned for Expedition 33, and Svedberg-Yen’s reply should make players happy.

Svedberg-Yen replies, “Nothing concrete that I can say at the moment, we’re honestly still just trying to process everything that’s happening. It’s been a lot to take in! We’ve always said if there is strong desire from the players that we would love to do something more, and based on the response so far, I’d say chances are good.”

That’s not a confirmation, but I’m definitely not saying no, either. I gather that at this point, it might be too early for the dev team to think about expansions, as they literally just shipped a game last week. Perhaps they’re busy counting their money due to the game’s tremendous sales success, or, more likely, they’re taking a well-deserved break.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is the surprise story of the year so far, an indie studio’s debut game, which is a traditional turn-based RPG, has been embraced by gamers thanks to its story, surprisingly deep gameplay and more. So far, it’s the highest-reviewed game of 2025, and I have no doubt it will win a handful of awards once it’s all said and done. To date, it currently has a 92 average on Metacritic, and a 91 average on Open Critic.

I’m still playing the game and loving every minute of it. I’m not rushing to finish the RPG, as that would be a disservice to the game’s story.

Of note, please don’t share any story spoilers in the comments, and anything related to that will be removed.

Would you want to see earlier expeditions realized as DLC? Or should Sandfall save their energy and work on their next full-fledged project?
