Diablo 3: Reaper Of Souls Expansion Sells 2.7 Million Copies In A Week

Players throughout the world of Sanctuary have pretty much agree that the long awaited Reaper Of Souls expansion is what Diablo 3 desperately needed to make it the enjoyable experience it should’ve been when it first launched back in 2012.

It also appears that the launch of Reaper Of Souls, adding a new character class, higher level cap, and much more content, is not only good for Diablo 3 players, but for its developer, Blizzard, as well. Recently, the studio released some staggering numbers regarding the expansion’s first week in sales in a recent press release

“Malthael claimed that no one could stop Death . . . actually, Diablo® III players have already stopped Death more than 1.5 million times and counting. On March 25, players the world over launched a crusade against the fallen angel with the release of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls™ for Windows® and Mac®. As of the first week of the expansion’s availability, more than 2.7 million copies have sold-through online and at retailers worldwide.”

Currently, Reaper Of Souls is scheduled to arrive on the PlayStation 4 alongside the Ultimate Evil edition that have yet to receive release dates. Additionally, Blizzard has also stated that a Xbox One version of Diablo 3 is in development, though an actual release on the platform has been unconfirmed.

For those who have played Reaper Of Souls, how are you enjoying it so far? Let us know in the comment section below!

Battlefield 4 Naval Strike Bug Unexpectedly Kills Attack Boat Drivers

A newly discovered bug spotted after the recent launch of Battlefield 4 Naval Strike might be leaving you scratching your head after unexpected deaths when engaged in combat at sea.

Traditionally, a TV missile launched from an Attack Boat in Battlefield 4 can be destroyed mid-flight by machine gun fire. However, since the launch of Naval Strike, Attack Boat users are noticing strange behavior that causes boat drivers to take damage instead of the TV missile when fired upon. Additionally, TV missiles no longer explodes when receiving bullet damage. Only the driver takes damage instead and dies.

Check it out in action below:

[youtube id=”o1etHuvR2Ms”]

While DICE looks into it, consider this a mini PSA for all Attack Boat users. Have you noticed the bug yourself?

As a bit of good news, expect “rubber-banding” fixes soon as DICE looks into server improvements.

Xbox One Development is ‘Games First’ Under New Management

Under the leadership of newly appointed Head of Xbox Phil Spencer, Microsoft plans to shift their approach to a “gaming first” philosophy when it comes to Xbox One, Xbox Live, Xbox Music, Xbox Video and Microsoft Studios.

“With me you’re going to get a focus on gaming first and a best platform to play games on,” Spencer told Polygon in a recent interview. The ex-Head of Microsoft studios says “It’s not a focus we ever lost but it’s one I’ll be accentuating at Microsoft. It’s really going to be a gaming-led focus with Xbox and my new role allows us to execute on that.”

Those soothing words fall welcomingly on the ears of gamers concerned with the now four-month-old console’s seemingly more entertainment-heavy approach both pre- and post-launch.

With this reignited incentive, Spencer hopes to create “a tight feedback loop” between gamers, members of the Xbox Team, and developers.

“I see the conversation focusing more on the games: what new IP we are investing in, what’s going on in Japan, what are we doing with Halo,” he said. “It’s my job to make sure the best content shows up there… maybe a mix of things we’re bringing back from the past, like Killer Instinct, which was very successful, as well as new IPs, likeQuantum BreakSunset Overdrive and other things we haven’t announced yet.

“As the conversation with the customers today centers around the content that we have, that’s the majority of my focus. And we’re talking to developers about the next thing they want to be doing on Xbox.”

When it comes to Microsoft and this year’s E3 convention only a couple months off, Spencer says anxious fans can look forward to “the best lineup of content in a long time.”

“We’re early on in the console generation, and obviously Sony’s having a great launch,” he added. “Console gaming is doing incredibly well right now. Six months ago, everybody wondered if console gaming was dead… but this is a long, multi-year generation and my fundamental belief is that great games create the best platforms.”

Thanks, VG247.

Massive Aims for “Full Immersion” With The Division

With The Division, Massive Entertainment hopes to create the most immersive experience possible in a life-like recreation of the game’s New York setting.

“One of the main things is that we want to have full immersion,” Massive brand art director Rodrigo Cortes recently told GamerHub TV. “That’s like a mantra for us when [we] do games. Immersion is very important to us.”

Cortes talked about the new Snowdrop engine that was built in-house, created specifically to make games like The Divison “better”, not “bigger”. He explains how it allowed the studio to recreate settings like New York and Manhattan in stunning detail.

“We knew that we wanted to do New York,” he said. “And it’s based on New York and Manhattan and more of the downtown area and we wanted to do something as realistic as possible, while at the same time, it needs to be fun. So we have done some creative choices there, so it works with the gameplay, but at the same time, it has the same scale and level of fidelity that you expect New York to have. From all the details when it comes to streets, when it comes to signs, when it comes to stores, and when it comes to what you see inside of the windows, there is life still… all of that is something we needed to be able to make.”

Catch the impressive Snowdrop engine tech demo that was recently showcased at this year’s GDC, as well as these new screens captured from the footage.

The Division is an open-world, massive multiplayer online, third-person shooter coming to next-gen consoles and PC.

Call of Duty: Ghosts – Learn To Control FFA Spawns With This Handy Fan-Made Guide

If lone wolf game modes like Free for All are you’re jam in Call of Duty: Ghosts, you’ll definitely want to check out this handy FFA guide by Reddit user True_Patrician.

Map control can be difficult to achieve on your own when its every man or women for him or herself. But with the help of this in-depth guide, you’ll get a better idea of key locations to take note of when navigating some of Ghosts’ more popular multiplayer maps. In it, True_Patrician focuses primarily on spawn layouts and the suggested paths used to control them.

Before you get into it, here’s a short legend to take note of:

  • Red Dot = Hot Spawn
  • Yellow Dot = Lesser Spawn
  • Green Dot = Strong Point
  • Green Line = Patrol Area

Prison Break

ndYy8jx

“Waterfall is a really hot spawn so to get people to spawn there you don’t really have to go much farther than tires or sewer. I go over to the truck by cement to pick people off trying to run up the cliff.

“While on cliff you mainly have to worry about the spawn above bridge, at humvees, and on the road. Sometimes people spawn booth and convoy while up there so be careful about getting picked off from below.”

Freight

8kxiwZ1

“The path over by gate note counting Strikezone is probably one of the fastest FFA spots in the game. You should be getting a kill every 2 or 3 seconds if you work the spawns right. Here’s a video showing how you play the area.

“The spot over by Garage is much more relaxed, really the only spawn that’s any danger to you is the one that’s in lot as they can randomly spawn there a lot, although it’s mostly fixed now. You’ll mostly be concerned with the spawns by wood and paper.”

Strikezone

iAwChaJ

“A really fast map. The spawn over by hot dogs is really hot so if you’re in the path there you’ll get people spawning behind you so you have to be careful. Hotdogs area is the safest area though as you have a nice headglitch on beer spawn which is major and hotdog major spawn isn’t too much of an issue as long as you’re careful. You also get the two park spawns.

“Fastest area is the shop as you get the hot dog spawns, the park spawns, and the statue spawns.”

Overlord

QzvQ4Au

“This map is a bit harder to force spawns on as the only area you really can is the one around tracks. The most major spawn is the bunker so if I hear someone spawn there I like to drop down from the right side coming out as they always nearly immediately try running to the top of the hill.”

Warhawk

nBnBlT6

“The are around C-Dom is the safest if you’re a good shot. The biggest spawns are Bar, Barricade, and Store although people like staying in the bar if they spawn there so it’s not quite as hot as it should be. You have to be careful of people with thermal scopes while at tower as they can see under the tarp, otherwise it’s probably the fastest spot.”

Octane

0PyRrMU

“Funnily enough this is the map I’m the second worst at in spawn knowledge, but it’s the map I have the most FFA KEMs on. Basically just stay around Gas and Shop as while I marked a lot of the spawns as non-major they’re still fairly common due to all the clutter breaking lines of sight.”

Sovereign

XC1rSL4

“Security is really fast and the major spawn by vault is really broken. You can basically assume for that spawn if someone has died and someone isn’t already spawned there they’re going to spawn there. Research is fairly major too so you can run around tanks if you want but it’s kinda slow. My second path over by soda depends on the game.”

Flooded

Fnqm5iX

“My least knowledge map as I stay away from most of the top side of the map since it’s a huge clusterfuck. If someone more knowledgeable than me knows the spawns for that area I’ll update the map for it. Just staying in top parking is really fast but really dangerous and open too. You get people coming out of passage spawn, garbage, blue and parking. You can also see around ledge and AC spawn and see everyone running across terrace. You can also get kills out of people peeking from carpet and cafe. Safest spot is staying in garbage and getting passage and ledge spawns.”

Thanks for the great work, True_Patricion!

GTA Online High Life Update Allows Ownership Of Multiple Properties, Heists Coming This Spring

If you have more money than you know what to do with in GTA Online and not enough vehicles, storage, or properties to spend it on, you’ll definitely want to keep an eye out for these upcoming GTA Online Updates.

This Spring, GTA Online’s High Life Update will allow players to own multiple properties with more garage storage, just as it was rumored beforehand once the Business Update went live. Alongside a new high-end apartment offering a much-needed change of scenery, the High Life Update will also include the following content:

  • New powerful Bullpup Rifle
  • New wardrobe items
  • Dinka Thrust motorcycle
  • Three new vehicles, including the super class Pegassi Zentorno
  • Mental State player statistic, which is designed to see how passive or psychotic someone really is.
  • New Jobs

To give us a better visual of what’s to come, developer Rockstar gives us some teasers of the DLC that you can catch below, including a glimpse of two of the new cars; the Dewbauchee Massacro and Pegassi Zentorno, as well as the new rifle.

actual_1396451170

actual_1396451188

actual_1396301035-1

Next week also marks the inclusion of Capture Creator, which will allow the community to create their own Capture jobs.

Now, as we’re all probably wondering, what’s up with Heists update that we were promised a long time ago? According to Rockstar, it will indeed be coming sometime during the Spring season. However, no exact date was specified in today’s news post, so we’ll have to wait a bit more patiently for its release date.

Rockstar has also given some insight on what they’re working on to ensure GTA Online becomes a more pleasant experience. Check out the future improvements below:

  • The addition of a ‘Non-Contact’ option for Races. This will allow you to play standard Races with collisions disabled between player vehicles. Other players will appear as semi-transparent and you’ll still be able to collide with non-player traffic, structures and other scenery, but this mode – for those who want to play it – will eliminate the “rubbing is racing” mentality that some wish to avoid.
  • Players will be able to call Lester and have him tell his cop buddies to turn a blind eye to any crime you may or may not be committing for a short period of time.
  • As a reward for players who leave feedback on Jobs, there will be some bonus RP granted every time a player likes or dislikes content after playing it.
  • GTA$ payouts will be increased when completing Parachute, Races, Deathmatches and LTS Jobs with less than 4 players.
  • As part of our ongoing commitment to target cheaters and keep the game as fair as possible, we are closing RP exploits and will be adjusting the RP totals of players who we know for certain to have gained illegitimate RP by cheating. Your RP will only be adjusted if you participated in mods, hacks, DNS redirects, manipulation of cloud files, or other similarly nefarious behavior. If you grinded short legitimate missions or otherwise gained a small amount of RP without modding, your RP should not be affected by this correction.
  • We’ll be fixing the issue where players who had upgraded personal vehicles prior to Title Update 1.10 were only able to sell them for $10,000.

With the these new improvements, more holiday-themed updates, and a new story DLC coming to GTA V, things sure are looking good for GTA in the near future.

What are you looking forward to the most in the Spring Updates for GTA Online?

Battlefield 4 Non-Premium Subscribers Get Naval Strike April 15

Over the past week, despite a few hiccups, Battlefield 4‘s third multiplayer expansion, Naval Strike, launched for all Battlefield 4 Premium subscribers across all platforms.

Today, developer DICE announced that those who are not subscribed to Battlefield 4’s Premium service will get their hands on the ocean-warfare add-on this April 15. That’s not quite the expected April 9 launch, but a delay in the Xbox One and PC Premium launches have seemingly pushed back the non-Premium launch back by a few extra days.

Naval Strike introduces four new maps, five new weapons, two new gadgets, the new hovercraft vehicle, the new Carrier Assault game mode, and much more. Non-Premium members can pick it up for $14.99.

Meanwhile, DICE recently noted that the studio is “unhappy” with recent server performance, and is looking to upgrade their services soon in order the “rubber-banding” issues a number of players are noticing on 64-player matches.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Devastation DLC Video Preview

Once again, Infinity Ward lets imaginations run wild with Call of Duty: Ghosts Devastation DLC.

Keeping in line with the game’s previous add-on, Onslaught, Devastation’s maps take a more colorful and light-hearted turn away from Ghosts’ more gritty, sombre tone. It keeps the fun value up and the excitement high.

There’s a bit of everything in Devastation. From the close quarters action of Unearthed, a reimagining of Modern Warfare 3’s fan-favorite map, Dome, to the long sight lines and open corridors of Ruins, there’s enough here to satisfy SMG, assault rifle, and sniper rifle users alike. Both Behemoth and Collision also offer variety in unique locations like atop a gigantic earth excavator or a wrecked cargo ship that has collided into a large bridge, respectively. Both are small-medium in size and are fantastic for those who prefer more symmetrical layouts and competitive objective-based matches. My personal favorite? Ruins. It’s something that’s never been done before in a Call of Duty game and it sure is pretty to look at.

Thrown in for good measure are a few interesting easter eggs, like the ability to turn into the Predator on Ruins, as in the one from the Arnold Schwarzenneger movie – claws, shoulder-mounted rocket launchers, thermal vision, invisi-cloak, and all. Just like the film, he even goes out with a bang when faced with overwhelming firepower. Extinction fans will also have plenty to look forward to with a couple of weapon and alien cameos in Unearthed. You can catch a quick look at the secrets both Ruins and Unearthed hold in the videos below. Be sure to stay tuned to the end of each.

Side note: you’ll see a lot of fumbling around with the Predator as I struggled to learn its controls, so bare with me!

If you’re a Call of Duty: Ghosts Season Pass holder on Xbox Live, then you’ve already had the chance to field test the new “Ripper” hybrid weapon that serves as both a SMG and an assault rifle. Getting caught up in the spirit of the 2014 Call of Duty Championship, I stuck to more familiar weapons during my hands-on time with the new content, so you’ll see a lot of Honey Badger, Remington R5, and even some USR action in the gameplay videos below.

Lastly, while my team and I didn’t get very far in Extinction Episode 2: Mayday, we certainly did a good job of scaring off that monstrous “Kraken” alien. We didn’t fare so well against the new “Seeder” enemy types, however.

Check out all five maps below and let us know what you’re most looking forward to in the comments! Call of Duty: Ghosts Devastation drops this April 3 for Xbox Live members.

Twitch Users on Xbox One Have Streamed Titanfall For 10 Million Minutes

Today, Microsoft is reporting impressive numbers regarding usage of the official Twitch Xbox One app.

According to the company, the service has seen nearly 23 million minutes of broadcast time with more than 2.7 million minutes broadcast between March 10-11, when the service first launched on the Xbox One. On launch day, 30 percent of all Twitch unique broadcasters were broadcasting from Xbox One.

Microsoft also reports that 108,000 unique Twitch users, or 22 percent of of Twitch’s unique broadcasters, streamed from their console within the app’s first week of launch. “To put that in perspective, according to Twitch, it took another console a month to achieve what the Twitch app on Xbox One did within its first week,” says Microsoft.

Titanfall has been the most broadcast game on the Xbox One app, accounting for 10 million minutes of broadcast time on the Xbox One to date. That’s almost 19 years of broadcast time.

Microsoft also reports that, on average, Xbox Live members worldwide spend 5 hours per day on Xbox One playing games, exploring apps or watching TV.

Battlefield 4 – DICE ‘Unhappy With Server Performance,’ “Rubber-Banding” Fix Incoming

Battlefield 4 Naval Strike has officially launched for all Battlefield 4 Premium members across all platforms. But for many, the experience is being marred by a recent bout of severe server lag, or what many refer to as “rubber-banding”.

The issues that appeared only after Naval Strike’s launch appear to be affecting various platforms and are most severe in matches with 64 players or close to. Even DICE is “unhappy” with the recent troubles and is looking to alleviate them by upgrading server performance.

“We wanted to provide a quick update on the issues with Battlefield 4 ‘rubber-banding’ some players on certain platforms are experiencing during matches with 64-players,” Battlefield 4’s newly appointed community manager Dan Mitre wrote in an update on the Battlelog.

“Looking into this further, we’re unhappy with our server performance, so we’ll be upgrading the hardware as soon as possible, investing more to deliver a better experience.”

Keep your sights on MP1st for more Battlefield 4 updates.

“As soon as we know the exact timetable, we’ll let you know the ETA.  Reducing lag for these players is absolutely a TOP priority for us to solve and we expect to have the solution very soon.”

Bonus

Last Year, we tricked a bunch of people into thinking Battlefield 4 developers DICE would limit production on multiplayer in order to focus efforts on a stronger single player experience.

“We asked what exactly that meant for the multiplayer. ‘Well, for one, we’ll simply be limiting the amount of content, like game modes and maps, for example,’ Curts responded.

“‘We’re going to stick to the more popular modes like Team Deathmatch and only include roughly four small- to medium-sized maps. Battlefield 3′s telementary data has shown TDM to be the most popular game mode on only a select few maps like Operation Metro, for example. So, we asked ourselves ‘why give Battlefield fans more of what they don’t want? Let’s give them more TDM on maps like Op Metro.’ This will also allow us to put more of our resources towards the single player campaign.’”

A recent survey sent out by Sony to PlayStation users hints at the possibility of new upcoming features for the PlayStation 4 console.

As reported by VGXNetwork, the survey asked a series of questions about how appealing a feature would be if Sony included it in a future update. The features that were hinted included the ability to change your PSN name, which has been long requested ever since the PlayStation 3 launched in 2006.
