New Tasks

  • The Geister event introduces its own set of tasks.
  • Tasks are divided into two parts, with each task rewarding Event Tokens, Stamps, and a random Geister item.
  • Complete Part 1 of the Geister tasks to unlock Part 2.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Update 1.004.001 Crawls Out for for Flickering Fixes

Following last week’s patch for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 that implemented PS5 Pro enhancements, it had the unfortunate by-product players suffering through flickering issues. Well, that should be resolved with today’s Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 update 1.004.001 download.

Clocking in as a 1.34GB download, this patch also implements suit fixes as well, which are listed in the official patch notes available below.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Update 1.004.001 Patch Notes:

  • Addresses an issue where the mask on Miles’ Advanced Tech Suit was white across different styles
  • Stability improvements
  • Fixes for possible flickering during fast travel introduced in 1.004.000
  • Adjustments to localized options descriptions introduced in 1.004.000

That’s about it. In terms of graphics mode added, only those who play the game on PS5 Pro will be able to utilize it. The 4GB download from last week introduced Performance Pro and Fidelity Pro as new graphics modes to the superhero game.

Aside from Spider-Man 2, another Insomniac Games title  — Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart — also got a PS5 Pro patch. Based on our count, these two games join the likes of The Last of Us Part II Remastered (and the first game), Horizon Forbidden West, Demon’s Souls and Rise of the Ronin as the first-party games that got PS5 Pro patches.

Expect more games to get updates for the PS5 Pro in the coming days.

In other Spider-Man 2 news, the PC version is set to swing out in January 2025, though Marvel also confirmed that there is no story DLC being developed for the game.

SnowRunner Update 1.55 Hits the Field for Patch 32.2 and Here Are the Fixes

Saber Interactive has released SnowRunner update 1.55 on last-gen consoles and as version 1.036 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. This is for the 32.2 patch that implements a short list of fixes. This is not a content drop, but is just a hotfix to help players running into various issues such as the game crashing when using the Control Evacuator and more.

What’s New in SnowRunner Update 1.55:

– Fixed game crashes when using ‘Control Evacuator’ function when the Ramped Towing platform and Loading Crane are installed together on a truck

– Fixed random black voids on the ground terrain appearing while approaching them on Xbox consoles

– Fixed the issue with the missing user avatar in the Garage and Player Profile menu on some platforms

– Sounds of EarthRoamer trucks have been improved

Of course, given we just got Season 14 last month, it’s expected that the patches we’ll be getting now are for fixes rather than for anything big. Once the patch for Season 15 rolls around, we’ll let our readers know.

Shinji Mikami Praises Resident Evil 4 Remake, Saying Capcom Improved the “Half-Assed” Story He Wrote in “Two Weeks”

The director of the original Resident Evil 4, Shinji Mikami, recently praised Capcom’s work on the Resident Evil 4 remake, admitting he “half-assed” the original story in just “two weeks” and shared his views on what makes a good remake.

Speaking to IGN, Mikami explained that the key to a successful remake lies in understanding the core elements that made the original a hit. He said, “I think the comprehensive and fundamental understanding of what it was that made the original work in the first place is probably the most important point of a good remake.”

“Everything from the ground up, basically,” he explains. “There’s a few examples of that with certain series that Capcom has put out.” He is, of course, talking about the recent run of Resident Evil remakes, the most recent being Resident Evil 4. Mikami has played it and offers glowing praise for the team at Capcom. “I thought that it was really well-made,” he said, impressed by how the remake handled combat details such as the timing between aiming and shooting.

The director explained that the original game balanced pressure and tension carefully, “I thought that they showed a really good understanding of that element,” he said. He continued, “Another thing I thought was really well done was the way they took the half-assed scenario that I just wrote up in two weeks and really built up on that and really fleshed it out.”

He highlighted how the remake team really understood the characters and their interactions, saying, “They showed a good understanding of the backbone of each character.” The director also praised the dialogue improvements, saying, “And they took not just the scenario itself, but even the dialogue, and they improved all that stuff so that was really great.”

While discussing remakes in general, he shared, “I personally don’t really have any interest in remasters.” Despite this, Mikami clearly appreciates the Resident Evil 4 remake for improving on what he calls a “half-assed” story, and he emphasized that a true remake succeeds by capturing what made the original work special.

The Resident Evil 4 Remake, released last year, also received high praise from fans and critics alike, with MP1st giving it a perfect score of 10 out of 10 and noting, “Capcom has made an already excellent game even better.” The game was also nominated for Game of the Year.

World War Z New Update for All Platforms Is a Hotfix for Extinction Access

Last month, Saber Interactive released a major content drop for World War Z that saw players get the free Extinction content. Unfortunately, there were also issues that plagued some players from accessing the free DLC, though that should be fixed with today’s title update. Console gamers should be able to download World War Z update 1.60 and this aims to resolve that issue.

Those on current-gen, you’ll also see the patch as WWZ update 1.023, and this also fixes that same issue with the Extinction access.

World War Z Update 1.60 Patch Released This October 29 to Fix Extinction Access

The lone item in the patch notes is:

General

  • Fixed the issue where some players weren’t able to play the Extinction mode.

There are no front-facing changes from this title update — at least according to what Saber Interactive has shared.

If you haven’t played the game in a while, here’s a list of the new content included in the free Extinction patch:

New Content

  • Added the Arizona map to the Horde Mode XL Challenge mode
  • Added a new challenge mode – Extinction
  • Added skins for Heavy weapons for completing Extinction Mode
  • Added new mutators: Myopia, Grenadier, Plague Creatures, Angry turrets, Class Advantage and Mass contamination!
  • Added Golden Bloom Weapon Skin Pack DLC

You can read the complete patch notes for the Extinction update here.

      • Fixed the Nuke Nursery terminals sometimes not being interactable
Helldiver Fixes:
      • Fixed an issue causing excessive ragdolling when diving or crawling on uneven terrain
    • We’re currently working on further solutions to address the ragdolling issues.
Weapons & Stratagems:
      • Fixed stim pistol incorrectly affecting the STIMS USED statistic in the mission end screen
      • Fixed dead corpses setting off the rockets from the RL-77 Airburst Rocket Launcher
      • Fixed an issue with the stratagem cooldown that allowed players to call down multiple resupplies or Hellbombs at the same time
      • Fixed an issue where switching to holding a grenade and picking up an artillery shell at the same time caused the artillery shell to become stuck in the Helldivers hands
      • The LAS-5 Scythe scope is now fully operational and can zoom in and out correctly
      • Empty expendable weapons cannot be picked up nor holstered anymore
      • The AR-23A Liberator Carbine now has the 0.5 sec shorter reload duration properly implemented, from 3 to 2.5 sec. It also has the correct magazine unit
      • Fixed a missing mesh for the P-11 Stim Pistol’s syringes
      • The MG-43 Machine Gun now has the 0.5 sec shorter reload duration properly implemented

The Division 2 Update 1.80 Deployed for Y6S2 “Shades of Red” This Oct. 29

Ubisoft has released the next major update for The Division 2’s Year 6 Season 2 called “Shades of Red.” This brings Seasons 2.0, a load of reworks and more. Players can now download The Division 2 update 1.80, and we have the jam-packed patch notes available below all sorted out by a handy table to make reading it much, much easier. Simply click to the section you want to read up on, and it’ll deliver you straight to the info.

Players can expect new exotic items, new rebalances, and even a Season Pass, which is entirely optional, and consists of cosmetic items. There’s a lot to take in, so read on for everything new in The Division 2’s big Y6S2 content drop.

The Division 2 Update 1.80 Complete Patch Notes for Y6S2 Shades of Red:

SEASONS 2.0

Seasonal Journey

The new Seasonal Journey introduces a structured progression system with 7 sequential missions, each containing 8 objectives. It is designed to guide players through the early stages of each new season, offering a mix of challenges and goals that introduce key mechanics. Available from level 1, even new players can jump right into the current season’s content.

The entire Seasonal Journey unlocks at the start of the season. As you complete each mission and objective, you’ll earn various rewards, including XP, Season Pass XP, progression-boosting items, resources, and active modifiers. Completing the entire journey will grant you a unique cosmetic item.

Seasonal Modifiers

The Seasonal Modifiers are central to each season’s unique gameplay, spicing up the usual rules and mechanics of the game. There are four distinct types of modifiers, each playing a crucial role in shaping player experience:

  • Global Modifiers set the overall theme of the season and are active at all times while the system is enabled, affecting the core gameplay loop.
    • This season, the theme is “range.” The Global Modifier, “Point Blank,” grants a bonus damage based on distance from enemies.
  • Active Modifiers function like “ultimate” abilities, giving your character a short burst of power.
    • Players can choose from a selection of Active Modifiers, but only one can be equipped at a time. This season, they manipulate the range zones set by the Global Modifier.
  • Passive Modifiers work in conjunction with the Global Modifier, adding extra bonuses.
    • Players can equip up to three Passive Modifiers simultaneously. In the first season, these modifiers provide additional benefits based on the range zones from the Global Modifier.
  • Hostile Modifiers: These represent how the enemies adapt to your new abilities.
    • As players progress through the season, enemies will gradually gain new abilities linked to specific enemy types, forcing you to use the Global, Passive, and Active Modifiers strategically to counter them.

The modifier system can be disabled at any time and is mutually exclusive with global events, allowing players to control how they engage with the seasonal challenges.

Priority Objectives

The Priority Objectives system offers a variety of short-term objectives, enhancing the way players can farm for items and resources in the game. The Priority Objectives system becomes available upon reaching level 30.

Players can choose from three objectives, selecting one based on limited information such as duration, reward category, and mission type. Once a selection is made, it is locked in, and the full details of the objective and its rewards will be revealed.

If none of the objectives appeal to the player, the system allows for rerolls and has an Abandon Objective feature. Players can earn reroll points by completing Priority Objectives, with a maximum of three rerolls stored at any time.

There is no limit to the number of Priority Objectives a player can complete, and rewards include XP, Season Pass XP, items, resources, and passive modifier unlocks.
Manhunt Scouts

Manhunt Scouts is a new system that drives the game’s narrative by requiring players to complete weekly activities that reward them with equipment, XP, materials, and, most importantly, new collectibles.

Each week, players can tackle a Scout, which consists of three different activities. These activities will vary, and players must solve a small riddle to complete each one. Activities should be completed in order, and once all three are finished, players will receive the Scout Reward.

Once all activities in a Scout are completed, players will receive a bigger reward, including a unique collectible. However, new Scouts cannot be accessed until the current one is completed.

By the end of the season, completing all Scouts unlocks the Manhunt Climax Mission, and finishing that unlocks the Master Climax Mission, so make sure to stay on track each week.

Named Weapons

In TU22, a fresh batch of Named Weapons will be added to the loot pool for missions and mission bosses. While the original loot tables remain unchanged, they now offer additional opportunities to obtain these new items.

Although these weapons have a higher drop rate, they are not guaranteed rewards and may require multiple attempts to acquire. The likelihood of these weapons dropping increases with the difficulty level of the mission.

These new loot drop chances are exclusively available for characters at level 40 or above and are limited to regular versions of missions – they do not apply to “invaded” missions.

Battlefield 2042’s Latest Update Patch Notes for Oct. 29:

Versions:

  • 1.61 (PS4/XB1)
  • 1.000.064 (PS5/XSX)
  • 8.2.0 (PC)

All-Out Warfare

Hardcore

Hardcore Modifiers – These Modifiers will affect gameplay in official Hardcore servers and matches. All modifiers listed below apply to official Hardcore playlists, so make sure you check them out to avoid any surprises (hint, hint, Friendly fire).

Infantry:

Dev Comments: Hardcore brings back most traditionally anticipated modifiers to achieve high-risk, high-reward gameplay with an emphasis on portraying the perils of combined arms warfare.

Some additional tweaks to control the pacing and speed of combat for Battlefield 2042 are also in effect.

Our main goal for Hardcore on Battlefield 2042 is to emphasize positional play, increase reliance on friendlies, squadmates, and cover, as well as maximize time spent on the frontlines in chaotic engagements that are still a few steps short of FUBAR.

Additionally, players are heavily rewarded for situational awareness and level knowledge.

Be warned: Friendly Fire is enabled, killing more than the grace amount of friendlies will enable friendly fire damage reflection, which returns 100% of damage back to the offender, regardless of the offender being on foot or deployed in-vehicle.

When using high explosives or vehicle weaponry, stay frosty at all times, especially when engaging in high activity areas.

  • Soldier Maximum Health set to 60%.
  • Friendly Fire Enabled (also affects vehicles).
  • Friendly Fire Damage Reflection enabled (triggers after repeat Friendly Fire Kills). Zero-tolerance policies in effect.
  • Crawling State Enabled on man-down. Double-tap your targets to eliminate surprises.
  • Traversal Sprint (Double-tap sprint button) disabled.
  • Slide (Crouch during sprint button) disabled.
  • Soldier Redeploy Delay Halved. Boots on the ground twice as fast.
  • Soldier Health Regen Rate set to 0.1 / 10% for default (1.0 by default). Battlefield medics note an increased need for assistance.
  • Mandatory Uniform Applied – in official Hardcore servers, Specialist uniforms will now respect the Specialist’s team via the following visual makeups: Team 1 set to “Green / Beige” palette, Team 2 set to “Red (Tier 1)” palette.
  • AI in official Hardcore matches will respect all modifiers set for infantry.

Weapons:

Dev Comments: The prime directive here is to double down on the fantasy of playing an Assault, Support, Engineer, or Recon. Some tweaking tools have been implemented to ensure we can respond to feedback on the fly as players learn the ropes and build ideal strategies, keep your eyes peeled to BattlefieldComms for any further updates or changes.

  • Magazine Discarding is now enabled, if you reload a magazine the bullets remaining within that magazine will be discarded. To all Support Players: note the increased need for munition resupplying.
  • Strict Class Identity is in play within Official Hardcore with the Assault Class primary weapon classes being ARs, Shotguns, DMRs, and the Ghostmaker Crossbow. Engineer Class primary weapon are LMGs, Lever Action Rifles. Support Class primary weapon classes are SMG-PWDs, Shotguns, and finally, Recon Classes are Sniper Rifles, Shotguns, DMRs, the Ghostmaker Crossbow and Lever Action Rifles.
  • Assault Rifle Class damage multiplier added, set to default. High Lethality at all ranges.
  • SMG-PDW Class damage multiplier added, set to 0.8 from default 1.0, to offset the effectiveness of High RoF weapons in Hardcore.
  • LMG Class Damage multiplier added, set to default. Eyes open for friendlies in the line of fire, you will be punished!
  • Bolt Action Rifle Class Damage multiplier added, set to 0.8 from default 1.0, to offset effectiveness at longer than intended ranges.
  • Shotgun Class Damage multiplier added, set to default. Blow. them. away.
  • Sidearm Class Damage multiplier added, set to default. Small form factor, big punch.

Interface:

Dev Comments: “The goal here is the simplest one: Minimize non-diegetic information (out of world elements like the HUD and minimap, or soldier name tags) and bring the focus to more diegetic information instead (elements gleaned from the world like soldier uniforms, audio, hit effects, etc).

We’ve added some additional features (like the inventory widget being dynamically visible) to make sure that some information can be acquired intentionally if needed, and to minimize frustration. Where the choice was between player comfort and immersion, we have chosen player comfort for this implementation of Hardcore, but remain open to feedback as always.

Let the penguins know your thoughts as we continue to monitor your reactions and feedback to this update.”

  • Show only icons when seeing friendlies, name tags disabled.
  • Added and enabled a setting to remove the minimap entirely (as opposed to showing a disabled minimap widget).
  • Added and enabled a setting to allow players to access the Big Map (default input “M”) even if the minimap is disabled. Orient and coordinate.
  • Added and enabled a setting to move the Squad List to the minimap’s original position.
  • Added and enabled a setting to show a “minimal” version of the squad list with reduced information.
  • Added and enabled a setting that causes the inventory widget to be invisible.
  • Added and enabled a setting that causes the inventory widget to become visible when the player interacts with their loadout (and certain other actions), and subsequently become invisible again 2 seconds later.
  • Disabled crosshairs and hit markers for all infantry (hit confirmation audio remains active). Confirm your targets.
  • Added exceptions to crosshair disabling (Repair Tool retains its overheat element despite crosshairs being disabled).
  • Enabled a “Realistic Audio” mix that modifies the base audio environment (Slightly reduced ambiance, world sounds, soldier movement sounds. Slightly increased weapon audio, bullet passbys, impact loudness, explosions)

Vehicles:

Dev Comments: We’re trying to make vehicles terrifying, especially for unprepared groups and non-Engineer players, while ensuring their power fantasy is intact for pilots and passengers. This is largely achieved through survivability increases that synergize well with the faster Time To Kill in Hardcore.

To counter the increased kill potential, vehicle weak points are more vulnerable than ever to well-positioned engineers, and the SOFLAM / Launcher team-up remains the gold standard for eliminating armor of all shapes and sizes (we see you, SOFLAM Recon mains).

  • Vehicle Maximum Health set to 1.4 (from default 1.0). Vehicles gain increased survivability in all engagement scenarios.
  • Vehicle Health Regeneration is disabled. Vehicles can now only be repaired using the Engineers’ Repair Tool, or with equipped Repair Systems.
  • Added and enabled a setting that causes vehicle Weak Spots to take increased damage from all sources (Doubled from default, leading to potentially devastating damage). Watch your six!
  • Increased velocity required to road-kill friendly teammates. Set to (15f) from default (0.5f). Enemies will still be roadkilled at the originally intended velocity.
  • Disabled the ability to trigger Anti-Tank Mines with friendly vehicles.
  • Added and disabled a contingency setting to completely remove the ability to road-kill friendlies.

Hardcore Mode rules:

Dev Comments: “Hardcore games, due to their increased rate of attrition, and our goal to provide more “in the trenches” combat close to objectives, have been assigned longer capture timers, more tickets, and increased time limits.”

  • Increased match time limit for all Hardcore Modes to 60 minutes.
  • Doubled available tickets for both teams in all Hardcore Modes.
  • Flag Capture Time doubled. Die with your boots on.
  • Flag Neutralization Time doubled.

Battlefield Portal

New modifiers available in Portal that are not used in official Hardcore servers:

Dev Comments:“In the process of developing Hardcore, we’ve experimented with a number of additional settings that didn’t make the cut for our intended offering. We will ship these settings regardless, and they can be seen below, and accessed by players when creating their own Battlefield Portal experiences.

The reasons for any exclusion, regardless of the setting itself, are largely the same: The modifier was deemed to be too difficult to understand / clearly explain during the natural flow of gameplay, or it damaged immersion without any commensurate addition to player comfort or quality of life.

Some may have had an outsized impact on game balance, and were hence set to default.”

These settings are available for use in Custom Experiences within Battlefield Portal and are not actively used on Official Hardcore Servers and matches.

  • Added a setting to award tickets on kill.
  • Added a setting to award tickets on downing an enemy.
  • Added a setting to award tickets for reviving friendly players.
  • Added a setting to award tickets for destroying vehicles.
  • Added a setting to penalize tickets when friendlies are sent to the downed or crawling state (as opposed to when they return to the deploy screen).
  • Added a setting to enable Ascension Points. This is a system that awards players points for in-game actions beneficial to their team. AP must then be spent to meritocratically access vehicles, instead of deploying them directly from the call-in menu or deploy screen. Vehicles have predefined AP prices, based on their combat effectiveness and utility.
  • Added a setting that subtracts Ascension Points on returning to the deploy screen after being downed.
  • Added a setting that awards players an amount of Ascension Points upon initial entry to the server.
  • Added a setting that sets a cap on how many Ascension Points players can hold at one moment in time.
  • Added a setting that can multiply recharge timers for infantry and vehicle skills that are able to self-replenish. These values are currently set to default within the builder.
  • Added a setting that can multiply the delay before weapons and abilities can automatically self-replenish. These values are currently set to default within the builder.

Additional Changes:

  • Equipped badges are now shown first in the badge list.
  • Return to Sender – Now gives a score when the player interacts with an enemy grenade and throws it back.
  • Scoreboard – When a player causes Friendly Fire they will now lose points in the scoreboard and will receive a notification on the XP feed to indicate a loss of points.
  • Fixed an issue causing Javelin Mastery to show in the stats tab.

Gameplay Flow & Social:

  • Player card customization screen:
    • Gameplay hints have a higher chance of showing on loading screen
    • There will now be an in-game notification when you enter the deploy screen when saving of loadouts or weapon customization is disabled.

Dev Comments: “It has always been the case that when you play on a server where weapons or weapon attachments are restricted, we don’t save any customization changes you make since you are forced to play with things you maybe normally don’t want to and we don’t want this to override your saved customization for normal matches.

For example, if you’re playing on a shotguns-only server we don’t want that to override your recon loadout in normal matches. We’ve now added a UI element to tell you when that is the case.

  • Customization / Deploy screen:
    • Fixed a bug where input hints were misplaced on the event pass reward preview.
    • Improved UI feedback when doing friendly fire. The kill skull has been replaced with a red X in that case and the kill log will also say when friendly fire damage reflection is enabled to show when you will start taking damage if you continue damaging friendlies.

Characters & Gadgets:

  • Fixed a bug where the armor plate animation would loop if you tried to equip it while crouching in a CAV-Brawler open seat.

Dev Comments: “You’re not allowed to use the armor plate gadget while crouching, just like you’re not allowed to shoot while crouching in that open seat.”

Vehicles

  • UH 60 1P Camera FOV no longer changes with Soldier FOV.
  • You can no longer use zoom on 3P cam on UH-60.
  • Bradley IFV now gets spotted when driver or passenger fire any of the guns.
  • Adjusted vehicle radio volume depending on distance.
  • Fixed an issue where players could equip armor while sitting on the back seat of CAV-Brawler and get stuck on a looping equip animation.
  • RAM now uses the same repair system recharge time like the rest of tank categories, upped from 10 to 20.
  • UH-60 freelock sensitivity is now consistent with the rest of All Out Warfare Helicopters.
  • UH-60 repair system is now more efficient, heals 25hp in 5 seconds, from 10 hp in 8.6.
  • The gravity pull when UH-60 is near the ground has been lowered to be consistent with the rest of All Out Warfare Helicopters from 5m to 0.8m.
  • UH-60 miniguns have been tweaked to allow for effective burst fire, under constant fire this weapon will lose accuracy.
  • UH-60 minigun damage increased from 18 to 20.
  • UH-60 minigun damage drop off starts at 200 instead of 250.

Weapons

  • Fixed issues where zoom level stats in the collection screen were not showing correctly on Vault Weapons.
  • Improved reload sound effect on M1 Garand.
  • Added M1 Garand from Battlefield Portal.

M1 Garand has seen various changes to fit in All Out Warfare including:

  • Adjustment to recoil, you will notice a much more aggressive recoil that becomes more manageable on crouch or prone stances.
  • Increase  dispersion when firing while moving, jumping or sliding.
  • Increase in total magazines that you’re able to carry with the M1 Garand.
  • Adjusted damage model over distance to fit with rest of All Out Warfare weapons of the same category.
  • The M1 Garand clip now ejects to sides and not towards player camera.
  • Tightened the weapon alignment within center of screen during recoil and movement.

That’s about it. Once another patch is released, we’ll be sure to let our readers know. For those looking for more Battlefield gaming, Steam has a massive sale on the franchise now for a limited time.

Bungie Gives Update on Marathon; Expanded Playtest Planned for 2025

Though Bungie isn’t quite ready to show us what they’ve been cooking with Marathon, the studio has issued a developer update to confirm that the project is still very much alive, with a few concept pieces shown off for some characters, and the confirmation of an expanded playtest planned for next year.

Marathon Developer Update Reveals the Game is Still Alive, But Little New Information

In the lengthy 9-minute video, Marathon’s new Game Director Joe Ziegler reiterates much of the known details that we’ve had on the game since its initial reveal, once again reaffirming that it’ll be a shooter based on the extraction shooter genre. He goes on to discuss the general game loops, confirming an expanded playtest slated for 2025 and revealing two Runner archetypes, Thiief and Stealth.

Despite the video’s length, it adds little new information to what we already knew about the title.

Though I do suppose the news that Marathon is still alive is great for those who may have been interested in seeing Bungie’s take on the extraction shooter genre. Earlier this year, Bungie had faced layoffs, and soon shortly after, Marathon’s original game director, Chris Barrett was fired due to inappropriate behavior that several women accused him of. Just last month, we saw the news that many employees had begun transitioning to Sony Interactive Entertainment, leaving many concerned for Bungie’s future.

Valorant Update 1.000.019 Released on Consoles, While Servers Remain Down This Oct. 28

Riot Games has released Valorant update 1.000.019 across consoles, though as of right now, the servers remain down.

Valorant Update 1.000.019 Patch Notes

At the moment there are no patch notes, though we do know from the recent update a bug was introduced around Jett’s dash that the team did say that they would try and resolve quickly.

We aren’t sure if this update addresses that issue, though it is likely.

Valorant Servers Down for October 28

Sadly we won’t know for sure if this patch addresses that issue as Valorant servers have gone down for some unplanned maintenance. Riot Games has yet to even acknowledge the server issues that have been plaguing console players all day today, which is rather odd given their activity on socials and how many players have been having issues. Hopefully, with the release of the new patch, we’ll be seeing some sort of update from the team on the server status.

Should any official patch notes be released, we’ll be sure to update the info above.

Silent Hill 2: Maria’s Head Size Reduced and Bust Size Gets Bigger in Latest Update

Just last week, Bloober Team released a patch for the Silent Hill 2 remake that fixed a few nagging issues, and it seems, also slotted in some unlisted changes. While nothing major, it looks like the developers reduced Maria’s overall head size, and even increased her bust size.

Don’t believe me? Check out the comparison images below to see the before and after images.

Silent Hill 2 Remake’s Maria Has Her Bust Size Increased

While the noticeable thing is Maria’s head, the bust area has definitely been increased as well, as the cleavage is now deeper. Not that it affects gameplay or anything, but it seems Bloober has heard the outcry of people on how big her head seems in the game. It’s not the most important thing but fans should appreciate it nonetheless.

Fortunately, Maria’s head size didn’t factor in our review, as we think the game is excellent as it is, and said, “Regardless if you’re a horror fan or not, you owe it to yourself to brave the fog, paint the town bloody red in Silent Hill 2.”

While we’re not expecting new content for the game, the PC version is getting mods! One of the mods released is a GTA San Andreas mode that turns protagonist James into CJ. Did you notice any other changes made? If so, leave a comment below and let us know.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6 Marketing Replaces Local Minnesota Annoyance

Minnesotans, you can all probably relate to what I am about to say. Every day for the last two years, I have gone to work and driven back home, bombarded by billboards as I entered and exited the city. Usually, I’d drive through them, paying no attention to them whatsoever, but for the last two years, a local realtor decided to buy up most of these billboards, plastering them with himself holding a big smile and arms at the ready for a hug. While that seemed innocent and was funny the first time he started to do them, it quickly became more of an annoyance, as countless stretches of billboards, all advertising different things, would soon be replaced with his giant smug face. Well, it seems that Activision has caught wind of this, and in a rather brilliant and clever marketing ploy for Black Ops 6, he has now been replaced by the Replace

Everywhere I Go… I See His Face…

For those who have no idea what I’m talking about, the billboards many of us Minnesotans have been seeing on the daily comes from a man named Kris Lindahl, advertising his own realtor company. I can’t speak on his business personally, but I will say that the billboards have become aggressively annoying in the months since he started to do them.

Look at that stupid grin and those stupid arms, I don’t know the guy, but I feel like I want to punch him after seeing so many of these scattered all over Minneapolis and local townships. I get it, you have money and you want my house, but that smile says not to trust you.

I joke as I can’t tell you from any experience about how he runs his business, but you could probably imagine mine, and the hundreds of thousands of other Minnesotans during our daily commute, when we were pulling double takes to realize that it was no longer Kris on several of these Billboards, but instead, actor Peter Stormare, reprising his role as The Replacer for Call of Duty Black Ops 6.

I don’t know, I think it’s pretty cool all things considering that it feels like such a random thing for Activision to do, especially in a state that doesn’t really have any massive gaming events like the ones on the East and West Coast. I found it pretty humorous myself when I saw it during my drive, and it does feel like a nice little acknowledgment from the studio to do for the state I live in. I don’t know, there’s not a lot of major gaming events here despite us having some pretty cool attractions, and gaming has become more of an online attraction compared to how massive marketing and launch events were in the early 2000s, so it’s nice to see a bit of that return around here. That may be because we do have an Activision QA and Publishing building, as well as the Minnesota Rokkr, an esports team part of the Call of Duty League.
