New Additions to Anti-Cheat:

The Anti-Cheat Development Team continue to focus their efforts on testing and supporting new security updates—such as binary hardening and developing QB System expansions—that aim to disrupt cheat development and usage while making it difficult to introduce new cheats in the future.  According to Ubisot, this is a long-term, ongoing investments where updates will be made more frequently to ensure the game is played fairly.

Attacking operators Nokk and Dokkaebi will receive further tuning in the upcoming season.

Madden 25 Gets an Update for September 10 for Consoles and PC During Server Downtime

EA has pushed out a new Madden NFL 25 update this September 10 on consoles and PC, and yes, this is also available for last-gen gamers. The patch itself is available for download now as Madden 25 update version 1.007 on current-gen. You can read on for what’s new, and the server outage schedule below.

The server downtime is expected to last for a few hours, and started at 6 am ET/3 am PT/6p pm HKT. There is no definite timeframe for when the servers will be back up, but if past maintenance periods are to be expected, it should be up by 10 am or 11 am ET. Note that this downtime is different from the Xbox Series access issue that we reported on yesterday.

Madden 25 Update Version 1.007 Patch Notes for September 10:

Today’s Title Update features the following:

  • Addressed the issue with Smart Routed Custom Stems resulting in a Speed Boost off the line at the snap
  • Tuning to decrease the effectiveness of a specific QB-rollout speed boost exploit
  • Addressed an issue preventing the Curl Flat zone depth coach adjustment from working properly when set at less than 15 yards
  • Addressed an issue causing Curl Flat defenders to continue to drift away from an eligible receiving threat in close proximity
  • Addressed an issue causing outside Deep Third defenders to get out of position when covering corner routes, or giving up too much cushion vs. corner routes.
  • Addressed an issue in Squads causing the QB control to switch to a teammate at the snap

As expected, EA has not released the official patch notes just yet, though that should change within the day. In the meantime, here are the key issues that are plaguing NFL fans right now:

  • Squads (Whomever is on offense that snaps the ball, it changes to the defensive player at the QB position)
  • Draft Class issue
  • Crashing issue happening mid-game while playing Superstar mode
  • EA Play trial glitch on Xbox

Needless to say, the biggest issue here is the Squads bug that we’re really hoping is fixed right now. While the Xbox access issue is also important, this is something the dev team has addressed is being worked on, and there is a workaround for it.

Once the complete patch notes are out, we’ll update the article with the info, so sit tight!

Update: The patch notes have been added courtesy of EA, and so far, the title update is only for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Hero Balance Changes

Web Banner Argus

Alongside some general efficacy hits to both his Ultimate and early-game threat, Argus is receiving some reductions to Dread Nova’s hitbox to provide more room for counterplay following frequent community feedback that the ability can be frustrating to interact with. With the tighter hitbox, not only will the visuals be more representative of the actual damaging area, but it will also require more accuracy from Argus to land, allowing for more dodging opportunities and better rewarding skillful execution.

General:

Health decreased from 760 to 750.

Dread Nova [Primary]:

Damage decreased from 90/115/140/165/190 to 80/105/130/155/180.

Explosion Radius decreased by 10%.

Cooldown increased from 16/15/14/13/12/ to 17/16/15/14/13.

[QoL] Explosion VFX reduced by 30% to better match its hitbox.

Synaptic Obliterator [Ultimate]:

Magical Power Scaling decreased from 25% to 20%.

Web Banner Aurora

Aurora’s Ice Wall can be difficult for Allies to fully utilise before it melts away, so some additional movement speed is being granted to Heroes gliding on it to make it more quickly usable. Additionally, Boreal Sweep is receiving a reduction in raw damage in return for some additional uptime, further unwinding Aurora from excessive Ability Haste reliance and ensuring full-tank builds do not possess as much inherent burst damage.

Glacial Charge [Primary]:

Bonus Movement Speed increased from 20%/25%/30%/35%/40% to 25%/30%/35%/40%/45%.

Boreal Sweep [Alternate]:

Cooldown decreased from 13/11.75/10.5/9.25/8 to 13/11.5/10/8.5/7.

Explosion damage decreased from 70/100/130/160/190 to 70/95/120/145/170.

Web Banner Dekker

Dekker’s general elusiveness and mobility is already on the high-end, made more extreme by her Movement Speed which exceeds many other ranged Heroes. She is receiving a reduction to her Movement Speed to reduce her general safety and roam effectiveness, providing more room for punishment should she overstep.

General:

Movement Speed decreased from 655 to 650.

Web Banner Drongo

Drongo’s ability to bully out a lane with poke and threaten all-ins provides him with too much general laning strength compared to other Carries. As a result, some general Ability damage is being stripped back to reduce Drongo’s general trading strength with him having to work a little harder to secure an advantage.

Rad Rounds [Secondary]:

Damage decreased from 15/25/35/45/55 to 15/23/31/39/47.

Old Rusty [Alternate]:

Damage decreased from 55/75/95/115/135 to 50/70/90/110/130.

Web Banner Feng Mao

The previous set of changes to Feng Mao have seen him make a resurgence in the Jungle as we intended. However, his general ability to snowball out of control should he secure a lead can happen in extreme ways. Some general mobility and damage is being pulled back, especially in the case of his Basic Attacks, ensuring his ability to run away with a gold advantage is not as extreme.

Windwalker [Primary]:

Bonus Physical Power Scaling decreased from 85% to 80%.

Guardian Shield [Primary]:

Movement Speed Physical Penetration Scaling decreased from 30% to 25%.

Reaping Dash [Alternate]:

Damage decreased from 100/130/160/190/220 to 90/120/150/180/210.

Web Banner Gideon

Gideon struggles to keep pace with other Mages in the wave-clear department and is receiving some additional uptime to his Cosmic Rift Ability. Additionally, his Torn Space Ability is also receiving some additional uptime in the late-game, in return for a higher cooldown in the early game to ensure the window for punishing him while it is down is more present.

Cosmic Rift [Primary]:

Cooldown decreased from 13/12/11/10/9 to 12/11/10/9/8.

Torn Space [Secondary]:

Cooldown changed from 22/20/18/16/14 to 24/21/18/15/12.

Web Banner Grux

Grux often struggles to function in the later stages of a match due to his high cooldowns and lower general mobility. Some additional durability and ability uptime is being granted to him in the later stages of a match to reduce his overall Ability Haste reliance, improving his build options and better allowing him to swap between targets in a fight.

General:

Physical Armor Growth increased from 3.25 to 3.4.

Smash And Grab [Primary]:

Cooldown decreased from 18/17/16/15/14 to 17/16/15/14/13.

Crush [Secondary]:

Cooldown decreased from 16/15/14/13/12 to 16/14.75/13.5/12.25/11.

Web Banner Howitzer (3)

Howitzer is seeing some of his damage redistributed away from his Basic Abilities and into his Ultimate, reducing his lane general poke potential in return for a higher impact moment when commiting to Make It Rain.

R2000 Missile [Primary]:

Damage decreased from 125/170/215/260/305 to 120/165/210/255/300.

Magical Power Scaling decreased from 70% to 65%.

Land Mine [Secondary]:

Damage decreased from 100/130/160/190/220 to 90/120/150/180/210.

Make It Rain [Ultimate]:

Total Damage increased from 480/672/864 to 480/704/928.

Damage per Missile increased from 30/42/54 to 30/44/58.

Web Banner Kwang

Similar to previous changes, Kwang is once again seeing a reduction in early game trading strength while in lane in return for some additional Ultimate damage, bringing more emphasis to his Level 6 spike. Some further uptime is also being granted to Judgement of the Heavens in the late-game, better allowing him to string combos together in teamfights.

Strike of the Heavens [Passive]:

Damage decreased from 14 (+5 per Level) to 12(+5 per Level)

Judgement of the Heavens [Primary]:

Cooldown decreased from 16/15/14/13/12 to 16/14.75//13.5/12.25/11.

Mana Cost decreased from 70 to 60.

Light of the Heavens [Alternate]:

Held Damage decreased from 85/120/155/190/225 to 80/115/150/185/220.

Shield decreased from 65/95/125/155/185 to 50/80/110/140/170.

Fury of the Heavens [Ultimate]:

Damage increased from 240/370/500 to 270/385/500.

Web Banner LT Bellica

Lt.Belica received a meaningful bump in strength with her last set of changes but still struggles to keep pace in the Midlane in terms of waveclear. Void Bomb is being granted some additional strength to further bridge this waveclear gap.

Void Bomb [Alternate]:

Damage increased from 105/140/175/210/245 to 110/145/180/215/250.

Cooldown decreased from 6.5 to 6.

Web Banner Murdoc

Murdock’s Long Arm Of The Law has very high uptime and global presence in the earlier stages of a match. Not only does this heavily impact other lanes, but it can also accelerate his strength independent of how well he is playing in the lane when picking up stray kills. An increase to its cooldown is being levied to ensure Murdock’s general global presence is no longer as high, bringing more emphasis to every Ultimate he uses.

Long Arm Of The Law [Ultimate]:

Cooldown increased from 100/85/70 to 120/95/70.

Web Banner Muriel

Some changes are being made to Muriel’s abilities. Firstly, we’re bringing greater efficacy and emphasis to Alacrity, allowing for more frequent use as it is frequently an afterthought in her ability rotations. Likewise, Serenity’s Slow is receiving some changes, providing less efficacy in the early game in return for far more potency when levelled, thereby acting as a harsher form of disruption when Muriel wishes to peel away or catch out a target in fights.

Serenity [Primary]:

Slow changed from 35% to 34%/38%/42%/46%/50%.

Slow Duration decreased from 2 to 1.5.

Alacrity [Alternate]:

Shield increased from 60/90/120/150/180 to 70/100/130/160/190.

Shield Magical Power Scaling increased from 25% to 30%.

Movement Speed increased from 20% to 25%.

Mana Cost decreased from 60 to 50.

Cooldown decreased from 12/11/10/9/8 to 10/9.5/9/8.5/8.

Web Banner Phase

Phase is receiving a suite of minor changes aimed at improving her general agency throughout a match. This can be seen through additional basic attack strength, providing a higher reward for playing aggressive in lane; more scaling across her kit, and a larger jolt of Movement Speed to Hyperflux that will better allow it to serve as a go-button when looking to capitalise on enemy mistakes.

General:

Physical Power increased from 62 to 64.

Physical Power Growth increased from 3.2 to 3.8.

Essence Catalyst:

Healing Magical Power Scaling increased from 30% to 35%.

Energy Lance [Secondary]:

Magical Power Scaling increased from 50% to 60%.

Hyperflux [Ultimate]:

Decaying Movement Speed increased from 30% to 35%.

Web Banner Rampage

The previous set of changes to Rampage have successfully facilitated a return to form in the Jungle. While we’re continuing to monitor his strength as the dust continues to settle, a small hit to his early-game clear speed is being levied to ensure he does not outpace other Junglers too heavily.

Rumble [Secondary]:

Damage decreased from 55/85/115/145/175 to 50/80/110/140/170.

Web Banner Riktor

Riktor is once again receiving a bump to his Electrocute’s uptime and scaling, further pushing his ability to perform in the Jungle and Offlane – Roles where he relies on it most.

Electrocute [Secondary]:

Bonus Health Scaling increased from 9% to 10%.

Cooldown decreased from 10/9.5/9/8.5/8 to 9/8.5/8/7.5/7.

[Bugfix] Now correctly shows its level reduction when ranking up the ability.

Web Banner Serath

Serath is receiving some additional Mana efficiency and Heaven’s Fury damage, better pushing her ability to perform in the Offlane and reciprocate early pressure against some of her harder matchups.

General:

Mana increased from 350 to 365.

Mana Growth increased from 45 to 50.

Heaven’s Fury [Primary]:

Damage increased from 50/70/90/110/130 to 60/80/100/120/140.

Web Banner Shinbi

Shinbi can struggle to have a direct impact, often taking too long to scale-up to the point she can win duels, just to struggle again once end-game fights occur. While further power could be pushed into her Line Tempo and All-Kill to make her more of a damage threat, this tends to be the least interactive aspect when playing against Shinbi as she can choose to play passively. Instead, we’re providing her with some further aggressive incentives, with Circle Rhythm and Rushing Beat now granting some additional damage and shielding, better allowing her to take duels and further rewarding her for getting up close and personal.

Circle Rhythm [Secondary]:

Damage Magical Power Scaling increased from 25% to 28%.

Shield Magical Power Scaling increased from 50% to 55%.

Rushing Beat [Alternate]:

Damage increased from 50/70/90/110/130 to 60/80/100/120/140.

Web Banner Sevarog

Sevarog is receiving a shift to Colossal Blow’s damage profile, with some of the base damage being redistributed into scaling to further ensure a full-tank Sevarog does not output unreasonably high levels of burst damage given how difficult he can become to take down in the later stages of a match.

Colossal Blow [Ultimate]:

Damage decreased from 280/435/590 to 280/415/550.

Magical Power Scaling increased from 75% to 85%.

Web Banner Terra

Terra is once again receiving a decrease to her durability, as well as a significant hit to Ruthless Assault’s empowered damage. The combination of these changes will reduce her general strength in lane, while also providing a better balance between durability and damage based on the Items she invests in.

Ruthless Assault [Primary]:

True Damage decreased from 50/80/110/140/170 to 50/75/100/125/150.

Wild Rush [Alternate]:

Shield Max Health Scaling decreased from 14% to 12%.

Unstoppable Force [Ultimate]:

Bonus Physical Armor decreased from 10/18/26 to 8/16/24.

Bonus Magical Armor decreased from 10/18/26 to 8/16/24.

Web Banner The Fey

Fey is receiving a significant set of changes aimed at improving the general responsiveness and enjoyment of playing her, opening up her skill orders and lean away from passive waveclearing, as well as providing more pronounced moments of strength. This can be seen in the form of more consistency from her Harvest Nettles as we improve its responsiveness and its ability to chain hits together, more incentive to invest in her Bramble Patch as a control tool now that it provides a stronger scaling Slow, and a sharper burst of speed when she secures a Takedown.

General:

Physical Armor increased from 18 to 21.

Mana decreased from 450 to 430.

Nature’s Vengeance [Passive]:

Movement Speed increased from 15% to 30%.

Duration decreased from 5 to 3.

Bramble Patch [Primary]:

Cooldown decreased from 12/11/10/9/8 to 10/9.5/9/8.5/8.

Slow changed from 40% to 34%/38%/42%/46%/50%.

Mana Cost decreased from 60/70/80/90/100 to 60/65/70/75/80.

Harvest Nettles [Secondary]:

Damage changed from 90/120/150/180/210 to 85/120/155/190/225.

Magical Power Scaling decreased from 50% to 45%

Damage Amplification per Stack decreased from 25% to 20%.

Damage Amplification Duration increased from 6 to 8.

Damage Amplification Max Stacks increased from 3 to 4.

Cost decreased from 50 to 40

Mana Refund decreased from 35 to 30.

[QoL] Projectile cast-time and responsiveness improved.

Untamed Growth [Alternate]:

Cooldown increased from 12/11/10/9/8 to 13/12/11/10/9.

Fly Trap [Ultimate]:

Magical Power Scaling increased from 60% to 65%.

Web Banner Twinblast

TwinBlast’s early game can feel too scripted around his Vaporize trades, otherwise feeling rather underwhelming until he hits his Item spikes. To help provide him with more agency in the early game some additional bonus Attack Speed is being granted to his Passive, further incentivizing ability weaving between Basic Attacks, as well as a slight bump in damage to his earlier Ultimates to grant him more consistent early-game impact.

Overdrive [Passive]:

Bonus Attack Speed increased from 35% to 40%.

Ventilate [Ultimate]:

Damage per Bullet increased from 14/22/30 to 16/23/30.

Web Banner Zinx

Zinx  has emerged as an extremely capable Support, with her general healing output and versatility outshining much of the roster and requiring the need for some hits. To start with, reductions to her overall healing capabilities are needed to ensure she does not stifle aggressive plays too effectively. This is being done in the form of a general decrease to Infuse’s potency and the bonus healing offered by Triage Protocol. Additionally, she is seeing a shift in early-game mana economy to further discourage passively spamming heals in lane instead of being aggressive with Bad Medicine. Finally, there is a reduction in the Revival window of Neural Regenesis, allowing enemies to wait-out its duration more easily should she jump the gun.

General:

Mana decreased from 380 to 350.

Mana Regen decreased from 1.6 to 1.3.

Mana Regen Growth increased from 0.12 to 0.15.

Triage Protocol [Passive]:

Bonus Infuse Healing decreased from 50% to 40%.

Bad Medicine [Secondary]:

Cost decreased from 60 to 50.

Infuse [Alternate]:

Healing Magical Power Scaling decreased from 40% to 35%.

Neural Regenesis [Ultimate]:

Duration decreased from 4.5 to 4.

Item Balance Changes

Carry:

Some additional Ability Haste is being granted to Nuclear Rounds, further differentiating it and facilitating builds revolving around a heavier emphasis on Ability usage.

Web Banner Items Nuclear Rounds (1)

  • Ability Haste increased from 15 to 20.

Assassin:

Web Banner Items Envy

Envy contributes to frustrating moments of gameplay and a feeling of inadequate counterplay due to the combination of damage and disruption it provides. General reductions to its overall strength are being levied to ensure there is an adequate opportunity cost when purchasing it over other damage options, and that its Silence does not feel as oppressive to be hit by.

  • Physical Penetration decreased from 7 to 6.
  • Sacrificial Strike Duration decreased from 3 to 2.5.
  • Hush Silence Duration decreased from 1s to 0.8s.0

Web Banner Items Infernum

Since the previous change to Cinder’s stacking, Infernum has naturally lost some of its general potency. Now that the abuse-cases are far less frequent, we can provide it with some additional upfront strength, allowing it to serve as a more relevant anti-tank option for Assassins in need.

  • Cinder Max Health Damage increased from 3.5% to 4%.

Web Banner Items Malady

Malady’s ability to blast through Minions and Monsters thanks to Parting Gift’s AoE damage can lead to excessive clear speeds, often contributing to an extreme shift in Jungle pace, and an accelerated lack of interaction in lane as it begins to cull waves with ease. To ensure game pace does not shift as aggressively when Malady is acquired. Parting Gift is seeing a reduction in its AoE damage output.

  • Parting Gift Damage decreased from 25% to 20%.

Web Banner Items Mesmer

Both Mesmer and Spellbreaker are seeing an increase to their Spellshield cooldowns to ensure there is an adequate amount of time to capitalise on them once popped. However, Mesmer is receiving some additional Physical Power to ensure it provides a comparable spike in power when foregoing other alternatives.

  • Physical Power increased from 40 to 45.
  • Vengeful Shroud Cooldown increased from 45 to 60.

Fighter:

Web Banner Items Basilisk

Basilisk is receiving an increase to Eminence’s Missing Health damage as it currently struggles to serve as an effective response to tankier targets now that they are more prevalent in matches.

  • Eminence Missing Health Damage increased from 3% to 3.5%.

Web Banner Items Bonesaw

Bonesaw is receiving some additional ramping Attack Speed, better allowing it to serve those Bruisers seeking to ramp up their damage over the course of a fight, especially against those chunkier targets.

  • Colossal Sunder Bonus Attack Speed increased from 10% to 12%.

Web Banner Items Draconum

Draconum aims to provide Fighters with a healthy injection of Physical Armor, allowing them to continue their investment in Bruiser Itemsation without the need for another option when heavier Physical Armor investment is not required. However, the current amount of Physical Armor it provides falls short of acting as a solid single source so an additional chunk is being granted.

  • Physical Armor increased from 35 to 40.

Web Banner Items Earthshaker (1)

Earthshaker’s stats were stripped back a bit too heavily since its switchover to Ability Haste. It is regaining the Attack Speed it lost to better allow it to stand out to the various Heroes it pairs with.

  • Attack Speed increased from 25 to 30.

Web Banner Items Legacy

Legacy is another Item that does not provide an adequate amount of protections in a single slot. Like Draconum, it is receiving a bump to its Magical Armor to make it more impactful as a standalone defensive option.

  • Magical Armor increased from 30 to 35.

Mage:

Web Banner Items Lifebinder

Lifebinder struggles to find its place in many builds given its relatively niche use-cases and the strength of its competing options. Some additional Ability Haste is being added to better allow it to justify its place in builds further and allowing it to compete more readily with other Haste options.

  • Ability Haste increased from 10 to 15.

Web Banner Items Magnify

Contrary to its use-case, Magnify’s Shred effect struggles to havea meaningful impact when used against an Enemy stacking a ton of Magical Armor. Some additional Shred potency is being granted to allow it to better exist as an appropriate response when dealing with tankier targets.

  • Arcana Magical Armor Shred increased from 15% to 20%.

Web Banner Items Orb Of Enlightenment

Orb requires a significant time investment to receive a return from. Even when it is fully evolved, for Heroes other than Iggy it often struggles to justify the investment compared to simply opting for other sources of Health with more immediate return. Some additional Health is being given to its Enlightened effect, better rewarding those Magical Bruisers that delay their tempo in order to get it online, further closing the gap between other options such as Magnify and Elafrost.

  • Enlightened Health per Level increased from 12 to 15.

Web Banner Items Spellbreaker

Spellbreaker, like Mesmer, is receiving a cooldown increase to its Spellshield to ensure there is an adequate window of opportunity to play for after it has been popped.

  • Veil Cooldown increased from 45 to 60.

Support:

Web Banner Items Dawnstar (1)

Health is a bit of a luxury Stat for Supports, with few Items providing it in meaningful bulks. In its absence it can feel difficult to pair Armor heavy options such as Galaxy Greaves or Hexbound into a build, oftentimes  feeling far more optimal to forego traditional Support options for the likes of Raiment to get the Health injection needed. Dawnstar is receiving a bump in Health to help rectify this and allow for a cleaner 1-2 pairing between more Items.

  • Health increased from 250 to 300.

Web Banner Items Lunaria (1)

Lunaria is once again receiving a hit to its Healing efficacy and stack generation due to its inherent synergy with Zinx and the abnormal levels of healing it allows a hybrid Healer like her to put out.

  • Incandescence Max Healing decreased from 100-300 to 100-250.
  • Incandescence Damage stored decreased from 30% to 25%.

Web Banner Items Marshal

Marshal exists as the go-to item for the majority of Ranged Supports, simply outshining other options due to how well rounded it is. To bring it back into greater contention with other options and make it less of a catch-all, some of its Mana Regen is being stripped back.

  • Base Mana Regen decreased from 125% to 100%.

Tank:

Web Banner Items Elafrost

Similar to other Items, Elafrost is another defensive option that does not provide enough Physical Armor as a standalone Item which leads to many builds feeling required into further Physical Armor investment to hit an adequate Armor threshold. An exchange of Health for Armor is being given to better allow it to serve a Hero’s Physical Armor needs and further allow investment in alternative non-Physical Armor pairings.

  • Health decreased from 400 to 350.
  • Physical Armor increased from 30 to 35.

Web Banner Items Giants Ring

Similar to Elaforst, Giant’s Ring is being granted some additional Physical Armor in exchange for a reduction in Health, further reducing some of the excess Health offered across Tank Items and further specialising it as a Physical Armor option.

  • Health decreased from 350 to 300
  • Physical Armor increased from 45 to 50.

Web Banner Items Raiment of Renewal

Raiment offers too much raw bulk on initial purchase given its strong regenerative capabilities. Due to this, many Support Heroes opt to rush it first and forego other options which can lead to abnormal bumps in durability, while also shutting down a lot of interactivity in lane due to the regeneration effects. While this is a problem we will be addressing fully at a future date, for now Raiment is seeing a reduction in Health to ensure the durability spike is at a more reasonable level.

  • Health decreased from 700 to 650.

Web Banner Items Wardens Faith

While Warden’s exists to provide a strong counter-option when dealing with multiple Critical Strike threats, it should still feel valid to pick up when looking to deal with a strong threat. It is currently too specialised and can feel underwhelming when dealing with anyone other than the Critical Strike dealer. To bring more generic strength to the Item, some additional Physical Power reduction is being granted to Mocking Presence, better allowing it to bring value against alternate Physical Damage sources such as Assassins and Fighters.

  • Mocking Presence Physical Power reduction increased from 5% to 8%.

And if you’re more into the old-school vibe, you can turn it off in the game settings, keeping things just how you like them.

Onboarding Rework

We’ve revamped the onboarding to get new players into the action quicker. Now, you can easily toggle Text-to-Speech, skip onboarding videos with a simple button, and we’ve removed the Gamepad Preset Racer/Trickster choice from the initial setup. No worries—you can still switch between trickster and racer once you’re in the game, so you can dial in the presets that suit you best! These tweaks are all about speeding up your entry while making sure you’re geared up with everything you need to dive into the Republic.

Save on UGC

We’ve made creating UGC smoother than ever with the new save feature. Now, you can save your progress as a draft and pick up where you left off anytime. Plus, the autosave after edits ensures you won’t lose any work, even if you get disconnected or close the game. And with three slots, you’ve got some solid backup to cover any slip-ups! UGC creation just got a whole lot easier and more reliable!

Seasonal Content

This season is packed with fresh content, including a freshly dressed Fall Hub and a new 20-tier season progression. Get ready for six live events and two live areas each week, and a lineup of weekly challenges! Plus, the in-game store’s got rotating offers, so there’s always something new to snag. Check out the new evo outfits that transform mid-air when you jump! And we added an option in the in-game store so you can see what the animation looks like for these outfits! We’ve also added a description in the in-game interface to let you know what the condition is for their animation. We’ve dropped a fresh FFA playlist featuring a mix of mountainboard, longboard, hoverboard, and skateboard events!  Finally, don’t forget the special mass races where unique rewards are up for grabs and the competition stays fierce!

Calendar for Mass Races

Speaking of mass races, the updated schedule now features special twists like Mountain Board races and themed events like Halloween and Hacker. These races come with exclusive rewards—outfits, legendary loot boxes, and unique filters—giving you plenty of reasons to dive in. Eyeing those competition weeks? Mark your calendar:

  • Competition 1: Special Mountainboards – September 25 through October 2
  • Competition 2: Special Rocket Skis – October 16 through October 23
  • Competition 3: Special Jumbo Bike – November 6 through November 13
  • Competition 4: Special Freestyle Snowmobile – November 27 through December 4

Whether you’re shredding the new Mountainboard events, smoking the competition in mass races, or diving into all the seasonal content, get ready to amp up your ride like never before!

Want to shred with your crew? Riders Republic hits Gamepass on September 11th, so it’s the perfect time to get them to join the Republic!

And this will wrap up all the content to share. See you in the ridge!

That’s all the news for Season 12. Keep it locked at MP1st for news about Season 13 in the near future.

Atlas Fallen Gets a New Update This Sept. 10 That Buffs Fallen King Boss Alongside Bug Fixes

Just last month, Deck13 rolled out the big “Reign of Sand” update for Atlas Fallen that not only adds enemies, but even new locations, gameplay mechanics and more. The studio isn’t done there, as today, Atlas Fallen update 1.005.300 is out now as patch 5.3, and this buffs the Fallen King boss, plugs in an exploit, and even makes co-op for Game Pass players to PC much easier.

Atlas Fallen Update 1.005.300 Patch Notes for September 10:

Features:

  • Addition of Code-based matchmaking support on the PC Gamepass / Microsoft Store version, to allow for easier co-op with Steam & EGS players.
Stability / Technical fixes:
  • Fix for freezes & crashes that happened when completing a large number of Source Trials (via the Rekindling functionality). Savefiles that were affected by this bug should be fully usable again.
  • Memory Optimizations to increase general stability during long play sessions, for all platforms & game modes.
Balancing:
  • Fixed an issue that would sometimes cause the Fallen King boss to be extremely weak.
  • Fixed an exploit that allowed players to become completely invulnerable via a specific build.

Bugfixes:

Co-op:
  • Fix for a co-op bug that locked players in the final dialogue of the Source quest if they used characters of different genders.
  • Fix for a savefile corruption that happened when an advanced NG+ Guest joined an early-game NG+ Host, and picked the “Save Character” option after exiting the session.
  • Fixed a blocking co-op bug that permanently locked the character in place when dying while the co-op partner defeated the Source’s Final Boss.
  • Fixed a bug that would prevent players from rekindling Source Trials in co-op, under specific conditions.
  • Fixed Corruption Breaches despawning if the co-op Host died two times in a row while doing them.
  • Fix for a co-op issue that caused shoppable items to become irretrievable for the Guest, if the Host had bought them before launching co-op.
  • Added correct name on UI plate when defeating the Source’s Final Boss in co-op.
Audio:
  • Fixed audio issue that caused one of Nyaal’s barks to be very loud and hard to understand.
  • Fixed audio file not playing for “The Lost Caravan” lore item.
Enemies:
  • Fix for an issue that caused greater & colossal enemies to turn invincible when targeted by a support ability of the Weaver wraith at a specific time.
  • Fix for an issue that caused the Sand Clones of the Marauder Enemies to be invisible.
Visual / UI:

Fix for the rendering of armors breaking when quickly scrolling through several armor models.

  • Fixed issues that would happen with the Compass when dying during Source boss fights.
  • Added UI popup for the distribution of the “Celestial Damage” NG+ essence stone, that could easily be missed.
  • Added functional counter for the discovered Source Portals on the Source Map.
Misc:
  • Fix for camera issues when getting hit or killed while interacting with a Source Portal.
  • Fixed Localization issues in the Credits.

That’s about it. Hopefully, the Reign of Sand patch roped in new players.

Battlefield 2042 Update for September 10 Brings UH-60 From BF Portal and Other Fixes

As expected given last week’s announcement, DICE has released a new Battlefield 2042 update for September 10, and this is to bring the UH-60 chopper from Battlefield Portal into All-Out Warfare, alongside a few fixes as well. Those on consoles will see this as Battlefield 2042 update 1.59, while those on current-gen, this will show up as version 1.000.062.

Battlefield 2042 Update 1.59 and 1.000.62 Patch Notes:

BF2042 gamers can play between September 10 – 24 on two new game modes “Breakthrough UH-60,” and “Control Unlocked.” Players can earn ribbons to permanently unlock the vehicle. During the allocated timeframe, Breakthrough in UH-60 Chaos and Control Unlocked will also result in all specialists, weapons, gadgets and vehicles will also be available for use, and players will earn ribbons twice as fast as you play the two limited-time modes during this timeframe.

General Changes

  • Improved the Conquest stat tab to show the correct amount of defensive kills.
  • Fixed the mastery level that’s displayed on highlighted weaponry not correctly updating within the classes screen whilst deployed.
  • Time spent on Objective added to the Scoreboard in the Strike Team mode.
  • Fixed an issue where ribbons were not displayed correctly on the Shutdown game mode at the end of the round.
  • Tentative fix for an issue in Strike Team where equipment dropped in-world during a round wasn’t correctly removed in the next.
  • Fixed an issue where AI soldiers would sometimes stop moving when the AI max health was lowered through Battlefield Portal.
  • Fixed an issue where AI soldiers would take cover waiting for their health to regenerate even when health regeneration was disabled, causing them to wait there indefinitely. You know, sometimes AI doesn’t have intelligence.
  • Fixed an issue where the player option to “Always Use Traversal Sprint” would override gamemodes that have disabled the feature.

Vehicles

  • Vehicle seats without weapons will no longer display an ammo count UI indicator.
  • Active Protection System now available for the EBAA Wildcat

Dev Comment: A few updates ago we removed the ability of Irish’s APS-36 Shootdown Sentinel to intercept anti-vehicle weapons to stop exploitative behaviors that it allowed between the gadget and vehicles, with that change now live we are giving the EBAA Wildcat its own Active Protection System to allow for dynamic engagements between this vehicle and aircrafts.

MV-38 Condor

  • Reduced the transition of flight to vertical and vice versa for the MV-38 Condor.
  • The MV-38 Condor and Mi-240 Super Hind will no longer be available in Breakthrough, replaced with the UH-60.

UH-60

As part of the transition to All-Out Warfare as a Vault Drop, the UH-60 has also received a few changes below;

  • Fixed an issue with the UH-60 where systemic damage was not being applied properly to each part.
  • Fixed an issue with the UH-60 where certain EMP effects were active even if the vehicle was not under EMP situations.
  • The UH-60 is now available on all Conquest maps.
  • The UH-60 will now have two new utilities available within the Battlefield 2042 variant with the Repair System and Cyberwarfare Protection System. These utilities will not be available within the Battlefield Portal variant of the UH-60.
  • Proximity Scan range increased to 40m for the UH-60.
  • Fixed an issue with the UH-60 not showing tooltips when in first-person view.

Don’t forget, there is no new seasonal content for Battlefield 2042, as Season 7 was the last one. That said, DICE is continuing support for it with new events, items and more, which we presume will continue until we know about the next Battlefield game in development.

Ubisoft Takes The Division 2 Servers Down for Maintenance, Adjusts Server Locations

This September 10, agents of The Division 2 will have to contend for the game being out for a few hours, as Ubisoft has taken the game’s servers down, and this is to apply stability fixes and even adjust server locations.

According to Ubisoft, the The Division 2 servers will be down this September 10 starting at 9:30 am CEST/3:30 am ET/12:30 am PT/3:30 pm HKT.

Expect it to last for three hours, though there have been instances that this lasted longer than the planned outage. While there is no mention on whether a new patch is being released, the studio states that this maintenance period is to “adjust server locations, improving game performance and stability.”

Speaking of patches, Title Update 21.4 was released last week that introduced a bunch of fixes. As for what’s next, there is the Guardians Global Event starting today, which will be followed by the Golden Bullet Global Event kicking off on September 24.

There is the story DLC planned for next year, though details about that have not been shared by Ubisoft just yet. If the server outage takes longer than the planned scheduled, we’ll update the article to reflect this.

Black Ops 6 Campaign Early Access Not Happening Confirms Activision

In recent years, Activision gave Call of Duty players a chance to play — and finish — the campaign a wee bit earlier than the release, if you pre-ordered the game which meant that these same players can jump on multiplayer on launch day and not worry about spoilers and such. Well, that won’t be the case for Black Ops 6

Activision has confirmed today that there won’t be Black Ops 6 campaign early access at all. This was confirmed by the publisher to CharlieIntel by sending the following statement:

“The team is fully focused on October 25th. We are excited about all the game has to offer across Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies. This year, we made the decision to ensure the community gets to dig in to any and all modes that they want at the same time, so we are back to one massive global launch moment October 25th. As such, there is no Early Access beat this year for Black Ops 6, just the countdown to launch.”

This is definitely a huge blow to those who want to play the campaign to get it out of the way before diving into the game’s meat and potatoes, the multiplayer (or Zombies for some). Of course, we’re expecting the campaign to be a short one given it’s confirmed to be the same length as traditional COD campaigns, so if you really want to, you should be able to clear the campaign in less than eight hours.

This breaks the recent streak of Call of Duty games that allowed gamers to pre-order the game to play the campaign early. Treyarch’s most recent COD game, Black Ops Cold War, allowed this as well.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available this October 25 on the PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Madden 25 Players Unable to Access the Game on Xbox, But There’s a Workaround

For those on Xbox Series X|S that have issues accessing Madden 25 today (September 9), you’re not the only one, as it seems there is an ongoing issue that EA is aware and are actively investigating.

Are the Madden 25 Servers Down This September 9?

Not really, but there is an issue affecting Xbox gamers. EA said that they are investigating it and have provided a workaround for now on how Xbox Series X|S gamers can access the NFL sim:

1. Launch Madden 25
2. Once at the main menu an error will appear
3. Select the Xbox button and go to Profile & System
4. Select Log Out
5. Once at the account login screen, log back in with same account
6. Open Madden 25 and gain access

That simple, but hopefully it does the trick. It hasn’t been announced by EA whether this error can be fixed by a server-side patch or with a client download.

In addition to this issue, there will be maintenance happening tomorrow, September 10, affecting all platforms.

No word yet on whether this downtime will have a patch tied to it, but we’re hoping there is one that will fix the Squads issue that’s been plaguing gamers.

If there is a patch released, we’ll be sure to let our readers know and have it up on the Madden 25 game hub.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Review – The Emperor’s Blessing

After 13 years (!) since the release of the first game, Saber Interactive and Focus Entertainment have now produced Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, and not only does it have some mighty big shoes to fill, but the action game also needs to be able to pull in new players that have not played the first game, or even non-Warhammer fans as well.

As you can see, Saber’s in a tough situation, and it would be perfectly understandable if Space Marine 2 needed knowledge from the first game to fully enjoy it, or if it was made for die-hard Warhammer 40,000 fans, which waited over 10 years for the sequel. Thankfully, none of these ring true, as Space Marine 2 can be enjoyed without being a Warhammer fan or even knowing anything about the first game. How do I know that? Super simple, as that’s exactly me. Not only have I not played the first game, but I also am not familiar with the Warhammer board game or its surrounding universe. Even with those disadvantages, Space Marine 2 still manages to be a proper video game first and foremost, and that’s what matters the most.

Beginning Salvo

Right from the onset, Space Marine 2 starts off with a bang. Players are introduced to protagonist Titus, who is a member of Deathwatch. I won’t spoil what happens next, but the tutorial section is tied to the story and your upcoming heroic feats. While I have no doubt that anyone who has played the first game or knows a fair bit about Warhammer 40K will find joy in the references, it’s perfectly fine to go in blind (which is what I did).

Space Marine 2 Campaign Length

You’re then introduced to your running mates, Gadriel and Charion, who will accompany you in your quest to rid the world of Tyranids. The story itself has a few twists and turns, and it’s nothing to write home about, but it’s not bad by any means, as it’ll keep you invested in the characters and what’s happening and add further motivation to squash some bugs.

Space Marine 2 is an entirely linear affair, though it does offer alternate routes to find dataslates, items and the like, but they’re usually short treks to the main path. That said, there are side missions to do, alternate vantage point missions to finish (more on this later), which further adds to the game’s overall length and meat.

Everything Goes Boom!

Space Marine 2 is an action game through and through. While it might look a bit like Gears of War, this is no cover shooter, and you’re almost always shooting your guns. There’s a whole mess of armaments to choose from, and the game is very liberal in letting you choose which ones to use in fighting off the hordes of enemies. Even on the melee front, there are a few choices that are available that spice things up a bit. Even if SM2 is a straight-up third-person shooter, the action is relentless, and it just feels fun to see a ton of enemies rushing at you and you swathing them away with your sword or blasting them with your guns. Saber Interactive uses its Swarm Engine (first used in World War Z) to good use, as the game pelts you with wave after wave of enemies, and it’s definitely a sight to behold.

While I would have liked a bit more oomph when you’re hitting enemies, the shooting is solid, and helped ably by the controls. This is an important aspect than it seems, given you’re hounded by throngs of enemies or you’re fighting off some of the ginormous bosses, and wrestling with the controls would easily sour the experience.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Gameplay Overview

Further adding fun to your endless shooting and stomping are the visuals and how everything melds together to give you a sense of satisfaction from offing your enemies. Slicing up a wave, stomping on them, and doing executions (of which there are multiple for each enemy that can be executed) is just damn mindless fun. However, the best part in combat for me is being able to parry an enemy or comboing your melee-heavy attack with the pistol shot to the face that grants you a shield bonus for pulling it off. Lest you think SM2 is all about shooting, there are dodge and parry mechanics that are easy to do, though it gets harder when you’re surrounded by hundreds of enemies. Pulling these off feels badass since Titus will lock to the target and counter shot, which finishes off smaller enemies and does massive damage for bigger ones.

Not Everyone Is Ready for the War Ahead…

While Saber manages to do a lot of things right with Space Marine 2, it does stumble in some areas of the game. Chief among the issues is the AI (artificial intelligence) of both your companions and even the enemies. I’ve lost count of how many times my AI teammates literally stood someplace and did nothing as I fended off the incoming wave by myself.

On the opposite side of the war, I’ve also lost count of how many times enemies stood around and did nothing while I pelted them with bullets. While this does happen, I’ve noticed restarting the encounter essentially fixes this, and I have faith that Saber Interactive can (maybe) provide updates to make this experience better. Having said that, even if it doesn’t get fixed, it doesn’t detract too much from the overall fun the game provides.

One thing that we also noticed is the lack of enemy variety. Sure, you have different kinds of Tyranids, but overall, there’s not a lot save for the rushing kind, the one that can deal more damage, the floating heads, etc. It’s not that big of an issue if I’m being honest, and the roadmap revealed by Saber Interactive also confirmed new enemy types are being added as free DLC. Near the end, you do see heretics take up arms and go up against your company, which shakes things up a bit, and this also ratchets up the difficulty, given most of the enemies will be using long-range weapons, which are complemented by their mindless mob that rushes at you. It’s tense and fun and provides a good break from the bug-squashing.

Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 Performance

In terms of bosses, there’s a handful available in the game that provides a good break from mowing through the mindless horde. Aside from one instance in the opening chapter, playing the campaign solo in normal difficulty might prove to be a little too easy for shooter vets, so you might want to notch that up a bit (don’t worry, as you can switch it at the Battle Barge whenever you feel like it).

On the technical side, there are a few bugs, but nothing game-breaking or anything that will break you from the immersion. It looks like Saber took their time with the game, and it shows, as the game works flawlessly for the most part, and that’s even with a ton of enemies rushing at you.

Added Commendations

While the campaign is just eight hours long, it’s not the only thing on the menu. Players will be able to play Operations, which is the game’s bread-and-butter multiplayer mode where players can complete missions working together. In this mode, players will be able to rank up, unlock perks for their chosen class, and more (Read on here for which class suits you best). Note that you’ll need to finish the main campaign (which can be played solo or co-op) before Operations will be available for you. Having said that, the campaign does a good job of being the game’s overall tutorial before your Operations escapades.

Space Marine 2 also offers a PvP mode, and being honest here, it didn’t do it for us. Some might like pitting their Space Marine against others, but the shooting, movement, and such don’t really lend themselves to PvP combat (in my opinion). Having said that, I’m not docking it points, given this is, for all intents and purposes, an extra mode. Think of it as the cherry on the Tyranid-flavored sundae.

The Emperor Protects

When the first Space Marine 2 trailer dropped, it intrigued me right away. It looked like Gears of War but with a Warhammer coating that wants you to do violent things to bugs, and I’m happy to say that I got what I expected. Is it perfect? Nope, it’s not, but it does feel like Saber managed to execute their vision.

If you’re looking for an action-packed shooter that lets you turn off your brain a bit to just lay waste to enemies, then this is the game for you. There’s a full-fledged campaign, and there’s tons of sutff to do once you’re done with it, and all for just $60! It might not be AAA, but for an AA title? It does come very close to that. Space Marine 2 looks to be Saber Interactive’s most ambitious project to date, and thanks to the Emperor, the studio managed to hit it out of the park.

Saber’s first tour of service in the Ultramarines is one that’s decorated with stars, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for the game and the franchise.

Score: 8.5/10

Pros:

  • Fun moment-to-moment gameplay
  • Full game is loaded with complete with the campaign, Operations, PvP
  • Superb co-op experience! Who wouldn’t want to terminate bugs with friends?!
  • Gunplay feels satisfying
  • Visual and cinematic moments are fantastic

Cons:

  • Teammate and enemy AI sometimes bug out
  • Campaign is a bit on the short side
  • Enemy variety can be spiced up a bit more

James Earl Jones, Voice of Darth Vader and Actor, Has Passed Away at 93

James Earl Jones, the iconic voice of Darth Vader and renowned actor, has passed away at the age of 93 at his home in Dutchess County, New York.

Aside from being a notable actor and voiceover talent, Jones was also an acclaimed theater actor, and was even nominated for four Tony Awards. Jones’ career spans more than 80 film credits, and made his acting debut in the 1964 flick “Dr. Strangelove” by Stanly Kubrick. Of course, most people know him as the menacing voice of Star Wars villain Darth Vader, and as the voice of Mustafa in Disney’s The Lion King.

On the gaming side, Jones has voiced eight titles (via MobyGames):

  • The Eye of Judgment (2007, PlayStation 3)
  • Kingdom Hearts II (2005, PlayStation 2)
  • Disney’s The Lion King: Simba’s Mighty Adventure (2001, PlayStation)
  • Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun (1999, Windows)
  • Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun (Platinum Edition) (1999, Windows)
  • Disney’s Activity Center: The Lion King (1996, Windows 3.x)
  • Under a Killing Moon (1994, DOS)
  • Disney’s Animated Storybook: The Lion King (1994, Windows 3.x)

No cause of death was given at this time, though we’re Jones passed away painlessly. Jones’ second wife, actress Cecilia Hart, died in 2016, and he’s survived by his son, actor Flynn Earl Jones.

Rest in peace, James! We’ll miss your voice and your presence in everything that you do.

PS5 Pro Reveal Set for September 10 as a “Technical Presentation” by Mark Cerny

After last week’s tease, Sony is ready to lift the lid on the long-rumored PS5 Pro, and it’s happening tomorrow, September 10!

What’s even better is it will be introduced as a “Technical Presentation” by none other than Mark Cerny, the Lead System Architect for the PS4 and PS5, and has one of the smoothest voices out there that gives his explanations an extra air of class. Don’t believe me? Watch the video below to hear Cerny talk about the PS5.

While Sony has not used the term “PS5 Pro” in any way, shape or form, it does mention that this presentation will focus on the PS5 and “innovations in gaming technology,” which all but confirms the PS5 Pro.

It will be broadcast tomorrow as a nine-minute stream starting 8 am PT/11 am ET/11 pm HKT/4 pm BST.

Same as always, MP1st will be here to cover everything announced at the event! Hopefully, its price point won’t be too high. Based on rumors that surfaced earlier this year, it’ll be out later this 2024.

Persona 3 Reload Data Download for Episode Aigis Rolled Out Today

While the final content drop for Persona 3 Reload titled “EpisodeAigis” isn’t due for release until tomorrow, players can download the data for it today (at least on PlayStation platforms). Players will see this as Persona 3 Reload update 1.07 on last-gen, and version 1.007 for current-gen (PS5, Xbox Series X|S) devices.

Note that even if the data is downloadable today, it won’t be available to play until tomorrow, September 10. Advance releasing the data download for DLC is a common practice these days, as some developers do that and just “trigger” the content when it’s time. This is mostly due to make sure no bugs or unnecessary issues arise from it. For those that played Persona 3 before, this DLC was previously known as “The Answer” and has since been given a different name.

Persona 3 Reload Update 1.07 Patch Notes:

While the official patch notes aren’t available yet, here’s the official description of the DLC from Atlus:

Added to the main game 16 years ago with the release of Persona 3 FES, Episode Aigis (previously known as “The Answer” when it was released in North America) is a major post-ending DLC that expands the story of Persona 3 Reload and serves as a story epilogue.

After unraveling the mysteries of the Dark Hour, fighting epic battles through Tartarus, and all the unforgettable events of Persona 3 Reload, the S.E.E.S. members find themselves trapped in a never-ending March 31st. Journey through the Abyss of Time as Aigis, undertake new challenges, and uncover the cause of this strange fate and the truth of what happened on that day…

Alongside that, we are expecting gameplay bug fixes and the like to be part of the title update. Once we get the proper patch notes, we’ll add it to the article.

Don’t forget, Episode Aigis is the last planned content drop according to the roadmap, so don’t expect anything major from the game once this is released.

EA College Football 25 Gets a Surprise Update That Lets Players Edit Jersey Numbers

While EA didn’t release a new patch for EA Sports College Football 25 last week when they conducted maintenance for the game’s servers, there is out live right now! Console players can now download EA College Football 25 update 1.011 on PS5 and update version 1.0.0.41 on Xbox Series X|S!

This is a small download, and has been released without any server downtime, which is surprising. Given the massive patch we got in the last week of August, don’t expect this title update to include a long list of fixes, as these are usually done with server outages.

EA College Football 25 Update 1.011 Patch Notes for September 9:

As expected, EA has not released the official patch notes just yet, but we can confirm that this will allow gamers to change the number on non-NIL players in Dynasty mode (thanks, RoysRealm!) This change has been corroborated by Less_Ganache_9588.

Chances are, the official patch notes won’t be available until later today (or in some cases, the following day). Once it’s out, expect an update to this story with the proper changelog. In the meantime, if we find more changes and whatnot, we’ll be adding it into the story for more context and to help gamers looking for what’s new.

If you still haven’t played the game, this isn’t a simple cash-grab by EA. Our review can be read here where we state, “EA Sports College Football 25 may be just the game you’re looking for as it is a love letter to what makes college football so special from the bottom to the top.”

PlayStation and Retailers Have Increased the PS5 DualSense Controller by $5

Following the PS5 console and accessories price increase in Japan two weeks ago, it seems Sony is hiking up the price of the PS5 DualSense controller in the US as well.

Over on Sony’s PlayStation Direct store, the standard DualSense is now priced at $74.99 compared to its previous price point of $69.99, which marks a $5 increase. It seems this new price is something that’s come directly from Sony themselves, as even retailers like GameStop have now adjusted their price accordingly as well.

Hopefully, the price increase stops there, and the console itself is not affected. Speaking of which, the PS5 Pro is reportedly set to be announced very soon, and hopefully, this translates to the base PS5 model getting a price reduction (though we highly doubt that given the current gaming climate).

Why is Sony increasing the price? We can’t say for sure. There’s a jab here about Concord failing miserably and how this might be tied into it, but we’ll refrain from doing that. We’ve reached out to Sony to ask what’s the cause for the price hike and whether it’ll be implemented in retailers across the entire US.

Of course, given how fast the PS5 is selling out now in certain parts of the world (particularly in China due to Black Myth Wukong), it might not matter if there’s a price increase or not. If you can find a controller at the lower price point, and you’re thinking of picking another one up, I suggest doing it now.

In other news, Sony has teased the PS5 Pro in one of its Instagram stories about the PlayStation brand’s upcoming 30th anniversary.
