The Division 2 Down for Scheduled Server Maintenance Schedule for April 16:

Convert to your timezone here

While the Last Resort apparel event will kick off, we are not expecting a client-side patch to be part of today’s maintenance, though don’t be surprised if we do see an update. Speaking of updates, there was one released last week for specific issues such as:

  • UI Improvements
  • Missing Texture Fixes
  • Loading Problem Fixes

In the same week, Title Update 20.3 was released which housed a lot of gameplay fixes which you can read about here.

If there are any changes to the maintenance period or if a patch is released, we’ll let our readers know.

Bleach Brave Souls Update 1.55 Drops for New Features This April 16

Bleach Brave Souls update 1.55 has been pushed out by KLabs Games, and this seems to add new features to the game. Read on for what’s new today in the Bleach Brave Souls patch notes for April 16.

Bleach Brave Souls Update 1.55 Patch Notes:

While the studio has not released the official changelog for today just yet, they did announce the upcoming updates set to be released for the game this April.

▼Brave Battle Popular Character Rankings Feature
We are planning on adding a feature displaying which characters are being used the most in Brave Battles as a way to help players choose their team.
The character rankings will be based on the characters that have won the most battles and are used by players that are in 3rd Seat and above.

▼Transcendence Slot Recommendation Feature
We are planning on adding a feature displaying the recommended order when selecting Basic Stat Boosts for each character in the Transcendence Slot Settings screen.

▼Guild Quest Team Copy Feature (from Hard to Very Hard difficulty)
In order to reduce the time required to form teams in Guild Quests, we are planning on adding a feature allowing players to copy teams that were used in the Hard difficulty to the Very Hard difficulty.
This feature will appear as a button in the Guild Quest screen through which you can copy teams across difficulties.

The studio also talked about the Achievement system though they did mention more details about it will be shared at a later date,

About the Achievements system

This is an update regarding last month’s “New Gameplay Feature” announcement.

Although it is still in development, this new feature will allow players to earn special points by completing various challenges.

Using the special points collected, players will be able to unlock permanent bonuses. These bonuses can then be further upgraded.

Here are some of the bonuses that can be unlocked through the Achievements system:
– Spirit Orbs, Essence Scrolls, Link Slot Potions, and other power-up items can be claimed periodically.
– Increased upper limit on the amount of times select quests such as Path to Power can be cleared.

There was a big update released in March which you can read about here.

If we do get a proper changelog from KLab, we’ll update the article.

Battlefield 2042 Update 1.52 for Version 7.1.0 Brings Crimson Front and More This April 16

True to their word from last week’s announcement, DICE has deployed Battlefield 2042 update 1.52 (PS5 update version 1.000.055), which is for patch version 7.1.0! Players can expect the Crimson Front event to be rolled out alongside changes to weapon visual recoil and more.

Battlefield 2042 Update 1.52 Patch Notes for April 16:

PS5 Version 1.000.055 | Game Version 7.1.0

Size: 2.5GB (PS5)

CHANGELOG

Visual Weapon Recoil

Visual Weapon Recoil improvements were introduced in Season 7, and through your feedback it was clear there must be further refinement of this feature. Update 7.0.1 was a hotfix aimed at resolving some of the core issues, such as the interactions with the Avancys, and as previously communicated Update 7.1.0 will include a wide pass that will correct most of the player reported issues surrounding Visual Weapon Recoil.

  • Visual recoil on multiple weapons, sights and specific weapon/sight combinations have been adjusted, including deviation of reticle to screen center, on the following weapons: G428, BSV-M, SVK, VCAR, M39 EMR, P90, DM7, DXR-1, RPT-31, PKP-BP, AK 5C, M240B, BFP.50.
  • Weapon Sights: Raven 4X, TV 2X, Ghost Hybrid 1.25-2.5x, M11 6X, PSO-1M3, BKS 8X, XCE Scope, K8 Holo, Kobra, Reflex, ACOG, SHAN 2.5X, 8R Holo, Fusion Holo.
  • Sidearms: TV 2X, SHAN, K8 Holo.

Weapons

  • Scope Glint removed from the XM8 LMG ACOG
  • XM8 Prototype Underbarrel Launcher crosshair will no longer appear while in Aim Down Sights.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the clip ejection sound of the M1 Garand to not play. We’ve got to protect that iconic sound!
  • Added scope glint to Default Scope and Ballistic Scope 12x on M95 Sniper
  • Fixed clipping issues on K30 when using Fusion or DD Holo sights

AK5C

  • High-Power Ammo: Increased Damage from 25 to 26 under 50 meters
  • Hipfire recoil pattern changed to have less pull to the right

SCZ-3

  • SCZ-3 Standard Issue Ammo: Increased Dispersion by an average of 8%

Type 88 LMG

  • Reduced Recoil and Dispersion by an average of 10%

AKS-74U

  • Starting accuracy increased by an average of 10%, Horizontal Recoil slightly increased, Rate of Fire has also been adjusted from 650 to 675.

Shotgun Improvements

Update 7.1 introduces a collection of improvements that should now balance shotgun gameplay and provide further emphasis on engaging and tactical gunplay when choosing to use these weapons.

There will now be more of a choice between relying on movement and agility to close up the gap to an enemy and use hipfire, or pre-aiming down sights before turning corners and playing more tactically.

This reduction in effectiveness of hipfire at medium ranges should notably improve balance in CQC-focused areas and maps and require a higher level of skill to get the most out of shotguns.

  • Shotguns have had their pellet spread adjusted in hipfire and aiming down sights.
  • Pellet spread will now be tighter when aiming down sights, in most cases with the same spread as previous updates, and slightly tighter in some cases, but when shooting from the hip pellet spread will now be higher.

Pellet spread will now differ between hipfire and aiming down sights, as follows for each weapon:

MCS-880

#01 Buckshot and #00 Buckshot

Aim Down Sights – Same as Update 7.0

Hipfire: 2x Horizontal Spread, 1.5x Vertical Spread compared to Aim Down Sights

#04 Buckshot

Aim Down Sights: 7.0 pellet spread was 3x compared to #01 Buckshot, it will now be 2.5x which results in the pattern being slightly tighter and usable from a bit further away

Hipfire: 2x Horizontal Spread, 1.5x Vertical Spread compared to Aim Down Sights

12M Auto

Default Barrel

Aim Down Sights – Same as Update 7.0

Hipfire: 1.5x Horizontal Spread, 1.3x Vertical Spread compared to Aim Down Sights

Shortened Barrel

Aim Down Sights: Spread reduced from 1.5x to 1.25x compared to Default Barrel

Hipfire: 1.5x Horizontal Spread, 1.3x Vertical Spread compared to Aim Down Sights

Pellet spread on 12M Auto will now also slightly increase when firing quickly

NVK-S22

Aim Down Sights – Same as Update 7.0

Hipfire: 1.7x Horizontal Spread, 1.35x Vertical Spread compared to Aim Down Sights

Reload Speed on NVK-S22 has been slightly increased

Super 500

Aim Down Sights – 0.75x Pellet Spread compared to Hipfire

Specialists

  • Dumb-fired Rocket Launchers such as the Recoilless M5 and the RPG-7V2 will now benefit from an additional rocket. This change will also apply to Crawford’s Deep Pockets trait.
  • Updated the description of the FGM-148 Javelin to reflect its functionality with further clarity.
  • Increased the size of AT Mines by 5-10% and raised them up to improve visibility.

Vehicles

  • EBLC-Ram and the CAV Brawler should now have an easier time traversing over some obstacles.
  • Fixed missing zoom in and out audio for the Laser Painter on the Z11W (Battlefield Portal)
  • Fixed various scoring issues related to the EMP Grenade upon disabling other vehicles.
  • Fixed an issue with the EBLC-Ram’s Spawn Beacon not functioning at times.
  • Fixed an issue which resulted in several armored vehicles having a misaligned crosshair.

In case you didn’t know, Season 7 is the last one for Battlefield 2042, though that doesn’t mean the game won’t be getting any new stuff. DICE has already revealed the Spring roadmap which houses a new weapon, new events and more.

Star Wars Outlaws Jabba the Hutt Mission Can Only Be Accessed via Season Pass

While we already reported that Star Wars Outlaws can only be installed with an internet connection, it seems another bit of bad news has surfaced for the game once again, and this one involves a specific piece of content, which is a mission involving Jabba the Hutt.

On the game’s website, it mentions that the Season Pass will contain two pieces of DLC that will be released post-launch, which will enable players to “keep exploring the world of Star Wars Outlaws with all-new stories, quests and areas to discover.”

Aside from the post-release content, other stuff exclusive to Season Pass owners include:

  • The “Jabba’s Gambit” exclusive mission available at launch
  • The “Kessel Runner Character Pack” featuring additional cosmetics for Kay and Nix

The base game is priced at $70, with the Gold and Ultimate editions priced $109 and $129 respectively, though these two editions also come with three-day early access as well (you read the different editions and their contents here).

While locking content behind a Season Pass is nothing new, it still stings when it’s not post-release content but something that’s available day one. Of course, we don’t know how extensive the Jabba’s Gambit mission is and what rewards are tied to it.

Hopefully, this is the last bit of bad news that surfaces for Star Wars Outlaws, as just from a gameplay standpoint, what’s been show looks good so far.

If you were planning to buy the Season Pass or the Gold or Ultimate editions, then this is non-news for you. However, for those getting the vanilla base game version, expect at least one mission in the game to be inaccessible for you. While Ubisoft can change course and make it available at launch or sometime after, there’s no guarantee that’ll happen, so if you want to play every mission in the game, best be ready to open up your wallet a bit more.

Star Wars Outlaws is set for release this August 30, 2024 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

  • Clash for the win in the limited-time trial running April 16 to April 29.

Overwatch 2 Retail Patch Notes for Season 10, April 16, 2024

Limited-Time Mode: Clash Trial

Clash is an upcoming core game mode in Overwatch 2. Teams must battle back and forth over 5 capture points, with each captured objective adding a point to the prevailing team’s score. Teams can win in two ways: either by having control of all five objectives at once, or by scoring five points total before the other team. Clash will be available as a limited-time trial through April 29.

How Clash is played

  • Five total objectives placed in a linear pattern on a mirrored map.
  • Only one objective is active at a time.
  • Matches start with the center objective active.
  • Players capture an objective by standing on it and filling in a progress bar. Capture progress cannot be made if enemy players are contesting the objective.
  • When a team captures the current objective, they are awarded one point to their total score and a new objective moving forward from the scoring team’s side is activated.
  • Objectives can be secured multiple times. If a team is pushed off an objective and the other team successfully captures it, the next active point will be in the opposite direction.

Win Conditions

Complete one of these conditions to win the match:

  • A team has successfully captured five objectives throughout the match to reach a total score of five.
  • Regardless of score, a team manages to take the final objective (A or E) on the opponents’ side.

Hanaoka – New Map
Explore never-before-seen corners of Hanamura in the new map Hanaoka, inspired by the visual themes of the beloved Assault map. Explore the shops and restaurants around town or follow the scent of Sakura trees into the once-proud Shimada castle.

Mythic Hero Skin Updates

Mythic Hero Skins

  • Mythic Hero Skins are now unlocked in the new Mythic Shop in exchange for Mythic Prisms.
  • Mythic Hero Skins are unlocked for 50 Mythic Prisms with a starting set of customizations and then can be leveled up with 10 Mythic Prisms per level. You can unlock the skin and all available customizations for a Mythic Hero Skin for 80 Prisms.

Introducing Mythic Prisms

  • Mythic Prisms can be earned in the Premium Battle Pass and used in the Mythic Shop to purchase the current featured Mythic Hero Skin for the season and select previous Mythic hero skins. You can earn a total of 80 Mythic Prisms when you complete Premium Battle Pass.
  • Earning Mythic Prisms in the Premium Battle Pass is the easiest way to unlock a Mythic Hero Skin and all customizations each season. You can also purchase additional Mythic Prisms in game or in your platform’s store marketplace.

General Updates

Challenges

  • Completing Weekly Challenge milestones will now reward additional Battle Pass XP.
  • Overwatch Coins that were earned in the Weekly Challenges can now be earned in the Battle Pass for all players.
  • Reduced the number of Weekly Challenges.

Developer Comments: The number of Weekly Challenges has grown over time, and we are simplifying what players can aim to accomplish, while also making earning Battle Pass XP more straightforward.

Endorsement Changes

Players who are actioned for disruptive behavior and reduced to Endorsement Level 0 cannot use text or voice chat features until they return to Endorsement Level 1.

Developer Comments: Since we added the Endorsement system to Overwatch, players who have been actioned because of social reports (Inappropriate Communication, Gameplay Sabotage, etc) have had their Endorsement Level reduced to Level 0. That part of the system isn’t changing, but going forward, Level 0 players will no longer be able to speak in voice channels or type in text chat in most modes.

Hide My Name

  • Updated option in Streamer Protect, found in your Social Options.
  • You are now able to hide your BattleTag from other players in your group and from your friends in the match as well.
  • When enabled, anywhere your BattleTag is displayed to players during a match now displays a random anonymized BattleTag, instead of only to the player with the “Hide My Name” setting visibly enabled.

Developer Comments: “The “Hide My Name” setting in the Social Options now displays a random anonymized Battle Tag to all players in a match, instead of only to the player with the “Hide My Name” setting enabled. New settings have been added to “Hide My Name From Friends” and “Hide My Name From Group.” Of these two settings, “Hide My Name From Friends” takes priority when group members are also friends. A large list of hand-crafted BattleTags have been created to support this feature. Could it contain easter eggs or silly references?”

Progression

  • Added progression badges/sub-badges and rewards for Venture. Rewards can be found in Hero Challenges.

Leaver Penalties

Two new thresholds for Unranked Leave Penalties have been added:

  • Leaving two out of 20 games will result in a 5-minute suspension from queuing for most modes.
  • 10 or more out of 20 games will result in a 48-hour suspension from queuing for most modes.
  • All other threshold tiers are unchanged.

Developer Comments: Overwatch 2 is a competitive game even for Unranked game modes, and the match experience for all remaining players is negatively affected when a player leaves before it is completed. Remember a penalty only applies when you leave games and not when you complete games.

By introducing a lighter 5-minute penalty, we aim to discourage players from deliberately leaving games they don’t want to play, while not impacting those who may have a technical issue or an urgent need to step away from the game which they can resolve by the time the queue suspension is finished. The larger 48-hour suspension aims to target a very small portion of players who are aggressively leaving games.

Leaving 10 games in Competitive Play will now result in a season ban regardless of the number of games completed.

  • Players can still get banned from Competitive Play in as few as 5 games if they leave very consistently and don’t complete enough games to get back into good standing.

Games completed in Competitive Play now count toward the 20-game window of the Unranked Leaver Penalty.

Developer Comments: We already suspend players who leave a Competitive and increase penalties up to a season ban for leaving games frequently, but players can work their way back into good standing if they complete several matches. However, this new rule will stop players from gaming the system over time.

Competitive Updates

Competitive Role-Specific Titles

  • End-of-season titles for Competitive Role Queue now include the role the rank was achieved in.
  • Examples include Champion Tank, Champion Support, Champion Damage, and Open Queue Champion.

Competitive Progress

  • Each Role Rank Card now displays the associated Competitive Role-Specific title.
  • Role Rank Cards can now be selected to open the Match History for the selected role.
  • Match history will display the following: Map / Game Mode, Heroes / Role, Date, Score, Results of the match
  • Match History can now be selected to open the Game Report for a match.

Grouping Restrictions

  • All previous Competitive Grouping Restrictions have been removed.
  • All groups in Competitive Play are now classified as Narrow or Wide.
  • Players between Bronze and Diamond must be within five divisions of each other player in their group to be in a Narrow Group.
  • Players at Master must be within three divisions of each other player in their group to be in a Narrow Group.
  • Players at Grandmaster and Champion cannot be in Narrow groups, regardless of how close their ranks are. This restriction ensures that our highest-ranked players have the highest quality Narrow matches.
  • Narrow Groups will always be matched against other Narrow Groups or solo players. If a group has both Wide and Narrow configurations of players, the Narrow configuration will always be prioritized.
  • Any group that does not meet the criteria is considered a Wide Group.
  • Wide Groups of four players may not queue. This restriction exists so that solo players are never required to make a Wide match.
  • Wide Groups have increased queue times and reduced match quality because it’s more difficult to find another group of players with the same ranks in the same roles to match against.
  • The amount a player’s Rank Progress changes after each match is modified by the group’s width.
  • The wider the group is, the less their ranks will change when winning or losing.
  • The higher the rank of the highest-ranked player in a Wide Group, the less the ranks of all players in the group will change when winning or losing.
  • Players will now be informed if the configuration of roles they have selected would result in a Wide Group.
  • The Tier Legend has been updated, and a new banner has been added to explain the rules described above.

Rank Information

  • New Modifier: “Wide”—this modifier reduces changes in Rank Progress when winning or losing matches. The wider your group, the less your Rank Progress will change with each win or loss.
  • The modifier “Volatile” has been renamed to “Demotion.”
  • Arrows displayed under the modifiers have been changed to point from left to right instead of right to left.
  • New Modifier: Demotion Protection
  • This modifier appears on the Rank Progress bar to denote when you did not go down in Skill Division because of a loss. If you lose the next match after, then you are dropped down to the previous Skill Division.
  • Victory and Defeat have been added below the Rank Progress bar where modifiers are displayed.

Golden Weapons

  • Golden weapons can now be purchased with either Legacy Competitive Points or 2024 Competitive Points. You cannot purchase weapons with a combination of both currencies.

Hero Updates

New Hero: Venture

  • Venture has been added to the line-up.
  • Venture is immediately available to play in Competitive Play.

Developer Comments: This is a pretty major change from past heroes, but we’ve always wanted to allow new heroes into Competitive when a new season for Overwatch 2 launches. In the past, we wanted to make sure new heroes were free of any bugs or outstanding balance issues, as well as giving players enough time to unlock a hero from the Battle Pass. Because of the recent hero trial, we’re confident Venture is ready to jump into the action right away…

Tanks

Doomfist

Rocket Punch

  • The empowered punch is no longer consumed when the windup is canceled by using Seismic Slam or Power Block.

Developer Comments: This quality-of-life improvement streamlines the transition between charging up an empowered Rocket Punch and another ability by removing the requirement of pressing the cancel input first.

Junker Queen

Carnage

  • Impact damage increased from 90 to 105.

Reinhardt

Earthshatter

  • Knockdown duration increased from 2.75 to 3 seconds.
  • Shockwave range increased from 20 to 25 meters.

Sigma

Experimental Barrier

  • Movement speed increased from 16.5 to 20 meters per second.

Developer Comments: This change will improve Sigma’s ability to protect allies that are further away from him.

Wrecking Ball

Grappling Claw

  • Hold the jump input while the Grappling Claw is attached to terrain to retract it, pulling yourself towards the anchor point. This action can be rebound in his hero settings.
  • Now has a one second cooldown if Wrecking Ball never reaches ramming speed before canceling the ability. Interrupting him with Hack, Hinder, and stuns will still trigger the full cooldown.
  • The maximum duration timer no longer triggers unless he reaches ramming speed.

Adaptive Shield

  • Can now be reactivated to redistribute up to 300 overhealth to nearby allies, capping at 75 per person.
  • Enemy and ally detection radius increased from 10 to 13 meters.

Minefield

  • Health increased from 50 to 60.

Developer Comments: The general goals here are to add a direct way for Wrecking Ball to support his allies aside from purely enemy team disruption, make the hero more approachable while also adding more avenues for skill expression, and improve quality of life around the grapple.

Damage

Sombra

Virus

Total damage over time decreased from 100 to 90.

Tracer

Recall

  • Cooldown increased from 12 to 13 seconds.

Pulse Bomb

  • Base projectile size decreased from 0.2 to 0.1 meters. The total projectile size is now 0.25 meters.

Developer Comments: There is now more downtime before Tracer can safely reengage after driving her away and Pulse Bomb will require more precision.

Venture

Drill Dash

  • Impact damage decreased from 60 to 40.
  • Damage over time increased from 40 to 60.

Clobber

  • Impact damage decreased from 40 to 30.
  • Damage over time increased from 30 to 40.

Tectonic Shock

  • Vertical knockback decreased by 30%.

Developer Comments: We are redistributing the damage on some of their abilities so that positioning relative to the enemy and tracking a target are more important for dealing maximum damage.

Support

Illari

Solar Rifle

  • Primary fire recovery increased from 0.2 to 0.25 seconds.
  • Secondary fire heal-per-second increased from 105 to 115.

Lúcio

Sonic Amplifier

  • Damage per projectile decreased from 20 to 18.

Soundwave

  • Damage increased from 35 to 45.

Lifeweaver

Rejuvenating Dash

  • Heal increased from 50 to 60.

Tree of Life

  • Pulse healing increased from 75 to 90.

Moira

Biotic Grasp

  • Damage per second decreased from 65 to 60.

Coalescence

  • Self-heal per second increased from 50 to 55.

Bug Fixes

General

  • Hero Mastery Gauntlet – fixed a bug that could cause more AI teammates than intended.
  • Fixed a bug with Wall Climb that could allow Heroes with the passive to climb infinitely.
  • Fixed a bug with Diamond, Masters, and Grandmaster not playing any effects when entering the Top 500.
  • Fixed a bug with duplicate entries on the Leaderboard.
  • Fixed the missing flash notification on taskbar when joining a game as a backfill.

Paraíso

Doomfist

  • Fixed an interaction with Mei’s Ice Wall that could allow you to get under the map.
  • Fixed a bug with Power Block sounds triggering even if it was not blocking damage.

Illari

  • Fixed an issue with Captive Sun affecting targets through floors and ceilings.

Junkrat

  • Fixed a bug with Riptire receiving the self-healing passive.

Lifeweaver

  • Fixed a bug where some un-targetable heroes could be healed by Tree of Life.

Mauga

  • Fixed an interaction with Overrun and Brigitte’s Shield Bash that resulted in Mauga being knocked down with Overrun active.

Mercy

  • Fixed a bug with the Caduceus Staff not opening up with the Parasol emote and Pose.

Venture

  • Fixed a bug that would prevent Drill Dash from activating while underground if the input was pressed while falling through the air and Burrow was active.
  • Fixed a bug where Drill Dash could deal damage multiple times with the initial impact and instantly kill targets or knock them back exceedingly far.
  • Fixed a bug where certain heroes were still being pushed back even if they escaped from Drill Dash.
  • Fixed a bug where Venture would sometimes launch very far if using Drill Dash off a ledge while Burrowed.
  • Fixed a bug where attempting to emerge during Burrow near ledges would sometimes end the ability prematurely.
  • Fixed a bug where the third-person camera would snap back to first-person instantly if you were in the air when burrow ended.

The minimum investment is $100 with the funding goal targeted at $50,000 to $5 million. As it stands now, it’s at $446,200 with 14 days remaining. Skybound (The Walking Dead) opened the campaign on the platform Republic and states this is a rare chance for fans to own a piece of Skybound’s beloved IP with the use of the proceeds he withlping to continue the in-house development of an upcoming AAA video game based on the Invincible property. The studio has a 30-person team handling development duties with industry vets from Activision Blizzard, EA, Amazon Games. Helping with development and making sure the game is faithful to the property is Robert Kirkman, the creator of Invincible.

This isn’t the first time Skybound has worked on the property, as a bunch of games featuring the IP has been released previously. The titles already released using the Invincible property include: Invincible Presents: Atom Eve (a visual novel RPG) and Invincible: Guarding the Globe (a mobile RPG). As far as we’re aware, this is the first attempt at a AAA game based on Invincible.

Would-be investors will get “perks and rewards, ranging from discounted merchandise to unparalleled behind-the-scenes access and experiences” according to Skybound. You can check the crowfunding page here, with the offering closing at April 29, 2024.

Here are the “highlights” from the crowdfunding page:

  • 90m fans globally; Partners include Netflix, Amazon, Universal, Epic Games
  • Video games industry expected to reach $282Bn+ in 2024 and grow @ 8.76%

Hopefully, this project kicks off the ground and follows the likes of Rocksteady’s awesome Batman Arkham games, or even Insominiac’s Spider-Man franchise.

Former Blizzard Boss Would Like a Way to Tip Developers, Though Admits Most Will Dislike the Idea

Former president of Blizzard Entertainment Mike Ybarra has mentioned on social media that he wants a way to give developers extra money (essentially a tip) for games that are exceptionally well done, and for not nickel and diming players “every second.”

Ybarra, who is now the Corporate VP of Microsoft, admits that he knows most will dislike this idea, and even gave examples of titles he deemed are tip-worthy such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Red Dead Redemption 2, God of War, Baldur’s Gate 3 and Elden Ring.

“I’ve thought about this idea for a while, as a player, since I’ve been diving into single player games lately.

When I beat a game, there are some that just leave me in awe of how amazing the experience was. At the end of the game, I’ve often thought “I wish I could give these folks another $10 or $20 because it was worth more than my initial $70 and they didn’t try to nickel and dime me every second”.

Games like HZD, GoW, RDR2, BG3, Elden Ring, etc. I know $70 is already a lot, but it’s an option at the end of the game I wish I had at times. Some games are that special.

I know most will dislike this idea. 🙂 BTW, I realize we are tired of “tipping” in everything else – but I view this different from a pressure to tip type scenario many face and give feedback on.”

While I do understand that a lot of people would hate the idea of tipping developers given how games are already expensive (and not even counting microtransactions which is now almost every game), it is a unique way of showing your appreciation to the game and its creators. I mean, it’s entirely optional, and I’m sure the developers would appreciate this gesture as well.

Would a gaming future where optional tipping is a feature instead of shoehorned microtransactions be a good thing? That’s one interesting possibility, no?

Rumor: New Fight Night Game in Development, Announcement Incoming This Year

While EA just released UFC 5 back in October of last year, if rumors are to be believed, the company is gearing up to announce another entry in the combat sports sim genre, and it’s one of the most popular dormant franchises the publisher has in its catalog, and it’s none other than a new Fight Night game.

According to Twitter account Combat eSports Media, their unnamed source states that a new Fight Game game will be announced this year. Not only that, but current pro boxers Jaron Ennis and Raymond Ford are already on board, which we presume to mean that both signed with EA to have their likeness appear in the game.

Now what adds a bit of validity to this rumor is that apparently, Ford reposted the claims in his own Instagram:

At the time of this publication, the story has expired, but there is a screengrab which is available above. Ford’s repost seems to indicate the claims are true. Either that or the boxer just wants to repost stuff with their name on it, though that seems highly unlikely.

Further adding fuel to the fire, legendary boxer Oscar De La Hoya also mentioned that a “huge announcement” is on the way soon, and it involves the “gaming sector.”

Given De La Hoya’s star power, the chances of the former champ being signed by EA to appear in a new Fight Night game is very likely, and if he has indeed signed something or saw something pertaining to its production, then that would explain the tweet and its definitive tone.

Of course, none of this has been confirmed, and should be taken as a rumor for now. We’ve reached out to EA regarding this rumor, and if we hear anything back, we’ll update the article with the info.

Fight Night’s first entry was released back in 2004 for the PS2 and Xbox, with the last franchise release being Fight Night Champion back in 2011 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. If this rumor rings true, then it would present a major revival for the boxing franchise after close to 15 years of being dormant. Let’s hope that if a new Fight Night is indeed announced, that it won’t be encumbered by live service and microtransction elements.

Speaking of revivals, EA recently shot down rumors that Motive has canned the planned Dead Space 2 remake due to low sales of the Dead Space remake released last year/

LawBreakers Being Revived Unofficially, Public Test Happening This Weekend

Remember LawBreakers? The hero arena shooter spearheaded by Gears of War director Cliff Bleszinski? Well, it seems to be making a comeback — at least in an unofficial capacity.

It’s not an official relaunch by now-defunct BossKey Productions or Nexon, but rather, a project by indie group headed by Reddit user redcommander_and calls themselves RELB. The dev team announced their plans to bring back the game a year ago, and now, the game is going through its first public playtest!

Over on the RELB Discord, the dev team announced that the launcher is now available for download. However, this being an unofficial revival, don’t expect blow-by-blow updates on the changes, and of course, support won’t be as robust as it was before.

RELB also shared details on this project and how it works:

“What exactly is this project?
This is a project to bring back the game LawBreakers, it’s done by creating ‘fake’ servers that the original game client uses. You can join by downloading the launcher, patching your game and playing like normal”

For those not familiar with the game, LawBreakers was a first-person multiplayer shooter that was launched back in 2017 for PC and consoles. It was made by BossKey Productions and published by Nexon, and had its servers shut down officially a year later on September 14, 2018 after lack of player interest.

Back in April last year, BossKey head honcho Cliff Bleszinski publicly mentioned that he wanted Nexon to revive the LawBreakers IP, though nothing came out of it until this unofficial revival.

Speaking of Bleszinski, it seems he is supporting this comeback even if he isn’t affiliated with Nexon, as he even tweeted about it today:

Will LawBreakers find success a second time around? You never know, right? If you’re planning on joining the test, don’t forget that this is will have crashes, bugs and all sorts of technical issues, as is the case with unofficial projects.

Here Are Examples of How the Star Wars Outlaws Factions & Reputation Work; ESRB Rating Surfaces

Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws isn’t your typical third-person open world action game. While players can expect gunfights, loads of NPCs (non-playable character), and side missions galore, there are also certain gameplay mechanics such as factions (or syndicates) and your character’s reputation at play as well.

Star Wars Outlaws New Gameplay Details

In a new video interview, Creative Director Julian Gerighty gives an example on how these mechanics come into play  and affect the gameplay experience. In Star Wars Outlaws, there are various syndicates that exist within the game, and these said factions are in control of certain territories that have quests, vendors, contracts and other stuff that players will be able to access. When your reputation for these factions increase, you’ll then be able to get better contracts, items and more. There are also vaults in certain areas in the game that players will break into regardless of your reputation with the syndicate controlling the area.

At the other end of the spectrum, when your reputation for one of the syndicates go down low enough, they will send out bounty hunters and assassins to take you out, so you can just piss these factions off and not expect anything in return.

Another example of how your reputation within a syndicate affecting gameplay explained is: say you’re out in the open world and you encounter a syndicate checkpoint you’re in good standing with, you’ll then be able to pass through said checkpoint without any issues.

Aside from doing missions for syndicates, you can also join in when they get into fights, and taking a side in said fight will help your reputation for the faction you sided with, and will harm it for the ones you’re going up against.

So far, the Syndicates that are confirmed to appear in Star Wars Outlaws include: Pyke Syndicate, the Hutt Clan and the Ashiga Clan. We’re also expecting the Black Sun, Crymorah Syndicate and the Crimson Dawn in the game as well in one form or another.

Star Wars Outlaws ESBR Rating and Summary

Aside from the new details regarding factions and the game’s reputation system, the Star Wars Outlaws ESRB rating and summary have surfaced today too!

The Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) has rated the game “T” for Teen, with the following summary:

“This is third-person action-adventure game in which players assume the role of an outlaw navigating the underworld of the Star Wars universe. As players explore open-world environments, they can accept missions/jobs for various criminal factions. Most missions involve using stealth to sneak through heavily guarded compounds or shooting through waves of hostile enemies. Players use a variety of gadgets and blaster-type weapons during missions. Players can perform dramatic punching takedowns when using stealth or close-quarter combat. Fighting is highlighted by futuristic gunfire, explosions, and cries of pain. During the course of the game, players can wager in-game currency on Sabacc, a blackjack-like card game with detailed rules; one area allows players to wager on fantasy races in order to further a plot point. The word “bastard” appears in the game.”

As you can see, the summary seems to be what we’d expect from a Star Wars action game, though I’m certain there’s a few twists and turns to make the journey a bit spicier during our playthrough.

Star Wars Outlaws will sail out this August 30 on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Release Date Expected to Be Around 2027

While Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was just released a little over a month ago, it seems that fans are already getting excited for the third part. As it turns out, it may not be a very long wait, as Square Enix expects the currently-untitled Final Fantasy 7 remake part 3 to share a similar development and release process as Rebirth.

As confirmed in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Ultimania (translated by Twitter/X user Aubrey), game director Yoshinori Kitase took to discussing the development of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, noting that the reason they were able to develop and release Rebirth so soon after Remake, is that the game shared the same development team. Often, studios will shuffle developers between releases, but Square Enix kept the same people working on Remake in the case of Rebirth.

And from what Kitase said, that’ll also be the case for Final Fantasy 7 Part 3, with the same team still working on it. The hope here is that since the third game will have so many already familiar with working on the series, the development will be just as smooth and quick, and hopefully, it will stick to the same release schedule as Rebirth.

This would put it about three to four years out, meaning we can likely expect Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth to arrive sometime in 2027 at the earliest.

That’s not too long of a wait, but of course, we can’t be 100% certain it’ll stick to that schedule. Still, things are looking up, and it helps that the teams working on it will be the same ones who did Remake and Rebirth. Speaking of which, if you still haven’t played Rebirth, go read our review why it’s one of the year’s best games to date.

With that all said, what do you hope for the final installment of the trilogy? Let us know in the comments below!

Upon reaching the enemy’s final line of defense, your goal is to arm and eliminate the enemy’s M-COMs to secure a win. However, reinforcements are limited! And if depleted, you will be forced to retreat to the previous sector.

Frontlines is a 20v20 tug-of-war experience, playable on Haven, Reclaimed, Discarded, and Redacted

New rewards are available to earn or purchase. Earn Ribbons by playing Frontlines to unlock rewards which are also purchasable separately as store bundles during the Crimson Front event bundles.
