Reputation System, Trials Engrams, and Adept Farming

Win individual rounds within each match to gain Trials reputation. The amount of reputation you gain increases with each round you’ve won on your card. Earn enough reputation, and you’ll be able to claim a Trials Engram from Saint-14! This engram can be focused into any currently available trials loot you have previously obtained, or it can be taken to Master Rahool for a random Trials drop. Your reputation increases after every match completion, based on the number of round-wins on your card, regardless of the result of that match itself (win or lose, 0-5 or 5-4).

Once you have gone Flawless, keep playing! Every win you achieve while at the 7-win level, even if you lose your Flawless, has a chance to drop bonus Trials Engrams, adept weapons, prisms, and even Ascendant Shards. There is no penalty for losing once you’ve made it to the Lighthouse!

When you’re done, you can cash in your 7-win passage for one additional adept drop, granted you have gone Flawless that week. This resets your card so you can start anew.

What’s a Xûr?

Xûr, Agent of the Nine, is a strange vendor who randomly appears in a Public Sector on one of the Worlds. Xûr sells Exotic equipment and only takes Legendary Shards in exchange for them.

TL;DR: He’s the Santa Claus of Destiny and every weekend is Christmas. Sometimes he brings you what you want, sometimes he brings you coal. Mostly it’s coal.

When does Xûr visit?

  • Fixed bugs resulting laps not being counted when crossing the finish line, especially during Online matches
  • Significantly reduced instances where wrecks occur during take-off and landing for seemingly no reason
  • Physics: Increased side slip angle limit across all bikes to lower chances of wrecking when landing or sliding sideways
  • Increased traction across all bikes when landing a bit sideways to prevent sliding over berms
  • Slightly increased overall grip on ATVs and ATV Tire tuning parts to bring them in line with MX bikes
  • Tweaked ATV power to be more competitive with MX 450F

Alongside the release of King of Fighters 15‘s latest character, Shingo Yabuki, the fighting game is also receiving a major patch that ushers in adjustments for every character in the game. 

What’s even more surprising is that SNK released a video that highlights these character refinements, showcasing the changes via gameplay for visual clarity. Here are the King of Fighters 15 patch notes for January 17:

King of Fighters is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Patch 1.62 is expected to roll out on January 17 alongside Shingo Yabuki and the start of Season 2.

・During Containment Bay P1T6, the server would crash under certain conditions.
・Disconnection from servers would occur due to heavy server loads during peak times causing servers to go down in certain situations.

Google and Nvidia Raise Concerns Over Microsoft-Activision Acquisition

Tech giants Google and Nvidia recently expressed concerns over the recent Activision Blizzard deal that the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) wishes to block. The companies apparently provided information that supports the FTC’s case on Microsoft gaining an unfair advantage in the fields of cloud, mobile, and subscription-based gaming. This comes from sources via Bloomberg, who wish to remain anonymous due to the confidential nature of the whole process.

Both Google and Nvidia have (or had) their own versions of cloud and/or subscription-based gaming in the past, so the deal does have some relevance to their operations. Google’s Stadia streaming service is set to shut down next week, with games already closing servers ahead of its final day. On the other hand, Nvidia boasted a user base of over 20 million last August with its own streaming service, GeForce Now.

Google also has a stake in mobile gaming, as its Android operating system is home to thousands of games that rake in billions in revenue. Should Activision’s IP catalog merge with Microsoft’s already expansive collection of video game IPs, the FTC worries that this would allow Microsoft to expand its already alluring Xbox Game Pass service. 

It is worth noting that Microsoft hasn’t let these statements go uncontested, however. The company has stated that these claims are given “too much weight,” and that the concerns raised by Sony are “self-serving.”

Dead Space Remake Map to Be in 2D Instead of 3D to Improve Clarity, Says Motive

If you’ve played the original Dead Space back in 2008, you might have  remembered how the game used a 3D in-game map, which — while it looked cool at the time — wasn’t really all that user-friendly.

The 3D map was a bit frustrating to use, as it needed to be rotate it and such just to find where you need to go or where you were. Take a look at how it was back then:

Thankfully, that won’t be an issue in the upcoming remake. Motive Studio Realization Director Joel MacMillan confirmed that the Dead Space remake map has been reworked to be in 2D.

Here’s what MacMillan has to say about the changes made to the in-game map:

Looking back at it, there was a little bit of frustration around how to control [the original map] or how to read it quickly. You’d have to kind of rotate it to figure out what’s the best angle to see where your character is and where you need to go. We’ve actually simplified it rather than embellished it, to improve the clarity and the readability of it.

These fixes include a change that should (hopefully) fix the problem in which players were being placed into the incorrect team, causing several different matchmaking issues. If you are still encountering any of the issues listed below, please let us know in the bug-reports channel so that we can diagnose the issue as soon as possible.

There are many more changes, fixes, and new content on the way in the upcoming patch, so look forward to it!

• Various crash fixes.
• Addressed an issue that was sometimes causing an incorrect amount of players to spawn on each team.
• Addressed an issue where the Ghost could sometimes become invisible after possessing an object.
• Fixed an issue that was causing incorrect text to display when destroying the final rift.
• Fixed an issue where Winky’s textures were not displaying properly after increasing the Tenure level.
• Fixed an issue where the accolades, such as the toaster, were not appearing in the Firehouse.

Ubisoft Releases Official Statement on Skull and Bones Delay, Teases “Exciting Content” via Socials

After learning via an earnings report that Skull and Bones would be pushed back for the sixth time, we finally get an official announcement on the Skull and Bones delay.

A Twitter post over on the official Skull and Bones Twitter account explained why this delay occurred. Here’s the full statement:

As we learned yesterday, the previous delays did help the developers polish and balance the game, as evidenced by apparent recent playtests. The statement didn’t mention the game’s release window, curiously enough, which was already stated in the earnings report to be somewhere in the early 2023-24 fiscal year.

Though the delay means we’ll have to wait for even longer before we can try the game out for ourselves, the statement does mention “exciting content” to come out via the game’s social channels. This will include more gameplay footage and some bits of lore if you’re interested in the game’s world.

The statement closes with a claim that the team will provide information on the upcoming tests and release date “very soon,” so we may not need to wait as long as originally thought. Still, for a game that’s been delayed this many times, it’s hard for players to not expect another one with how coy they’re being with release date info.

Skull and Bones will launch when it launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Rainbow Six Siege WWE Bundles Announced, Features Undertaker and Becky “The Man” Lynch

A couple of new bundles have just been announced for Rainbow Six Siege. These bundles are based on the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) franchise and will be available for Blackbeard and Thorn.

Ubisoft released a brief trailer showcasing both bundles if you’re interested in checking them out.

It’s time to earn your WWE Championship Title in Rainbow Six Siege. Don’t miss out on the Undertaker and Becky Lynch bundles for Blackbeard and Thorn!

Here’s what each bundle will contain:

The Deadman Bundle for Blackbeard includes the Undertaker uniform, special headgear, Operator portrait, the Undertaker Championship charm, as well as the Moonlight Brawl background and The Tombstone weapon skin for the MK17 CQB.

An additional bundle for Thorn brings The Man uniform, headgear, and Operator portrait. Players can wear the WWE Championship Titles charm, the I Am The Man background and equip the Dis-Arm-Her weapon skin for the UZK50GI.

Boxing Game “Undisputed” Early Access Set for January 31

Undisputed, the upcoming boxing game formerly known as eSports Boxing Club, is set for Early Access by the end of this month. Undisputed Early Access will become available on Steam starting January 31.

As a boxing game, Undisputed aims to be as authentic and faithful to the sport as possible, offering deep strategy and a footwork system that will make players consider every move they make. Check out the trailer below:

Here’s a list of the game’s key features:

● Revolutionary footwork mechanics, including a Loose Movement modifier to help you move around the ring with ease.

● More than 60 individual punches. Punch from multiple angles and directions. Feint to set up a trap and counter.

● All the tools needed to create an unbreakable defense. Slip punches, weave, dodge, and block before finding your opening to strike.

● Physics-driven interactions – punches can sometimes go around or even through an opponent’s guard.

● Up close and personal fighting like never before.

Early Access lets game studios release their titles before a full release to give players a headstart with the game while it’s still under development. We’re not sure how long the game will stay in early access, as there are games that have been stuck in this phase for years. Hopefully, Early Access should provide the feedback and testing that developer Steel City Interactive needs to polish and refine the game for a full release.

You can wishlist Undisputed right now on Steam, with early access arriving on the 31st. Undisputed is set to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Final Hogwarts Legacy PC System Requirements Revealed

Ahead of the February 10 current-gen launch date, Avalanche Software has revealed the official Hogwarts Legacy PC system requirements. For a 1080p at 60fps (frames-per-second) experience, PC players will need the equivalent of an i7-8700 CPU and GTX 1080 Ti GPU, but can still enjoy the title with an i5-6600 CPU and GTX 960 GPU at the cost of graphical quality. Those seeking the greatest visual experience can enjoy 4K graphics at 60fps with an i7-10700K and an RTX 3090 Ti.

Hogwarts Legacy is an action RPG set in J.K. Rowling’s beloved Harry Potter universe, and is the first full-fledged Wizarding World video game since 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Unlike previous titles, Hogwarts Legacy allows players to live out their own adventures in the universe, attending Hogwarts classes as their own customized character and exploring famous locations from the series such as the Forbidden Forest, Diagon Alley, and Hogsmeade.

    • DEV NOTE: Defenders’ catch chance is globally reduced when considered to be ‘in traffic’ to reflect the difficulties of securing a catch alongside other players. This change will reduce the amount of penalty applied when the ball has already been tipped or knocked up into the air to give defenders a better chance at intercepting tipped balls.

Face of the Franchise Updates:

  • Fixed an issue preventing the ‘Player of the Week’ Legacy Goal from completing correctly after winning a ‘Player of the Week’ award
  • Fixed a typo in the name of the ‘Shot Play Concept Drill’ side activity

Franchise Mode Update:

Our team is continuing to work on the Franchise Cloud Save issue from 12/28, alongside this Title Update. Further analysis has determined that this issue affected around 2% of all leagues created since launch.

Our team has made progress on restoring backups and we are targeting early next week to restore the leagues that could be recovered. However, the current recommendation is for players to start a new league, as not all leagues will be recoverable.

Play Now Live Update:

Our Franchise Team has added an additional starting point of Week 17 for players starting new Franchises via the “Play Now Live” option. This update will go live via a server side update around the Title Update. There is also a previously scheduled Wild Card update coming next week.

PlayStation Store December 2022 Top Downloads Include The Callisto Protocol, Crisis Core & more

The PlayStation Store’s December 2022 top downloads have now been revealed by Sony, led by Modern Warfare 2 and FIFA 23. The December-released titles The Callisto Protocol, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion, and Marvel’s Midnight Suns have all made respectable top-20 showings in the PS5 games list.

While both the PS5 and PS4 lists are topped by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (US/Canada) and FIFA 23 (EU), these household franchises have still seen some strong competition from the gaming industry’s December 2022 entrants. Striking Distance Studios’ The Callisto Protocol came in sixth on the most-downloaded PS5 games list in both regions. Square Enix’s Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion was tenth place in both regions for the PS5, and Firaxis Games’ tactical RPG Marvel’s Midnight Suns placed fourteenth in the US/Canada region.

COD Mobile Season 1 Starts January 18, Introduces Map, BR, and Lunar New Year Updates

Call of Duty: Mobile Season 1, titled “Reawakening,” will be the first season of 2023, and it’s set to launch on January 18. COD Mobile Season 1 will introduce updates to the Nuketown map and various updates throughout Lunar New Year.

Here’s a full list of all the features you can expect throughout the season:

Updated Map – Nuketown – Year of the Rabbit – Fan-favorite Nuketown returns with a Lunar New Year theme. The same great map that players have known and loved for years with a completely new look.

New Isolated BR Locations – Two new locations have appeared on the Isolated Battle Royale map. The Ecology Lab contains greenhouses with computers that players can interact with, while the T-3 Refinery plant features two “treatment cylinders” that create an updraft for players to jump into and fly up and out of the building.

New and Updated MP Modes – Big Head Blizzard is a humorous mode that features players’ heads getting larger as they do more damage, while Super Attack of the Undead returns in an updated mode that reflects the Season’s Lunar New Year theme..

Lunar New Year Updates – Red Envelopes return in new BR locations that contain seasonal currency, while the diminutive R.A.B.T robot appears randomly on Isolated offering players a chance to receive loot if they damage it quickly. Loot Balloons can also be found around various POIs. Players can shoot them down and receive loot, complete with a celebratory fireworks display.

Call of Duty: Mobile is available on iOS and Android devices.
