Path of Exile 2 New Update 1.015 Tagged as Version 0.1.1d Adds Map Stash Tab

[summaraize]

Grinding Gear Games has released Path of Exile 2’s new update 1.015, which should appear in the game as version 0.1.1d. This patch adds the map stash tab feature that players have been requesting.

Various fixes are also included, and they are available in the complete patch notes straight from the developers.

Path of Exile 2 Map Stash Tab Now Available via New Update

Per Grinding Gear Games, here’s what’s new:

  • Enabled the Map Stash Tab. In Path of Exile 2 this has 6 sub-stashes for each tier of Waystone. Each sub-stash can hold 96 Waystones, totalling 576 Waystones that can be stored for each tier. You can change the name and colour for each sub-stash, and individually set each of them to public in order to list your items on the Trade website. You can check out a preview of this stash tab here!
  • Made an adjustment to improve the performance on Xbox.
  • Enabled the Havenwood Cloak cosmetic microtransaction for use in Path of Exile 2.
  • Fixed a bug where Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence values on the Passive Skill Tree were visually displaying the wrong attribute value when using a controller.
  • Fixed a bug where online item filters could sometimes fail to load when logging in on consoles.
  • Fixed a bug affecting Xbox players where their settings could be lost when switching between playing on Path of Exile 1 and Path of Exile 2.
  • Fixed an issue where 16:10 was not a supported aspect ratio when using a controller.
  • Fixed an issue that could prevent Supporter Pack upgrade options displaying on console.
  • Fixed an instance crash.
  • Fixed a client crash.

That’s about it. Two weeks ago, we got patch 0.1.1c, which brought in a ton of improvements and fixes outlined here.

Rainbow Siege X Announced, Operation Prep Phase Revealed

[summaraize]

Ubisoft is about to unveil a “new era” of Rainbow Six Siege next month, as the company announced the Siege X Showcase set for March 13.

According to Ubisoft, this will feature “the biggest transformation in the game’s history, including new tactical gameplay, graphical and audio upgrades, and more.”

Rainbow Six Siege X Event Set for March

Ubisoft will stream it live on Mach 13 at 10 am PT/1 pm ET via the Rainbow Six Siege Twitch channel. The event will feature the “evolution” of the game, though it won’t be a sequel. Expect the reveal to be three hours long (nope, not joking).

During today’s Six Invitational, Ubisoft confirmed that this is not a sequel to Rainbow Six Siege, but a “major evolution.” Per Ubisoft, “We’re expanding and reinforcing the very foundation of Siege to ensure it remains the pinnacle of tactical PvP first-person shooters.”

Major graphical and audio upgrades are planned, as well as a refined game feel and “new ways to enjoy the game, all while staying true to what makes the core of Siege so special.”

That’s not only that got announced today, as Operation Prep Phase has also been unveiled today. The Year 10 content will bring a new Operator named Rauora (Attacker), and feature a new gadget in her D.O.M. Launcher.

Rainbow Six Siege Operation Prep Phase Brings a New Attacker

Rauroa’s Loadout and New Secondary Weapon:

Rauora hails from New Zealand and brings a powerful pair of primary weapons into the fray: the 417 designated marksman rifle or the M249 light machinegun. As her secondary weapon, she packs the GSH-18 9mm pistol or the new Reaper MK2 machine pistol. The Reaper is equipped with a red dot sight and an extended magazine, making Rauora very dangerous indeed in close quarters combat. Smoke grenades or breach charges round out her kit.

The D.O.M. Launcher

Rauora’s gadget is the Deployable Omnilink Mesh (D.O.M.) Launcher, a bulletproof smart cover system that deploys exclusively in doorways. When Rauora takes aim at a doorway, an on-screen icon indicates when she has a valid target and can fire the gadget. Once the projectile reaches the door, it attaches and deploys a bulletproof panel that reaches all the way to the ground. This is unusual for Siege as there is usually room for drones to pass underneath barricades, but the smart cover panel can sense when a drone is nearby; it will then lift the panel slightly and allowing the drone to pass through before fully closing once more.

Once released, the new season will bring gameplay changes, a new Battle Pass, and more. Once we know more about R6 Siege X, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Lords of the Fallen Reddit Drama Unfolds as Devs Start a New Sub to Avoid Political Chatter

[summaraize]

While HexWorks’ Lords of the Fallen has sold well enough for a sequel, and the game is still constantly getting updates, the game’s community should be happy with how things are going, right?

Apparently, that hasn’t been the case lately, and it has all to do with one particular game update that renamed a few things. Last month, the game’s developers posted a question on the game’s now-unofficial subreddit asking whether they preferred that the body types players can create are named “A” and “B” or as “male” or “female.” The players voted overwhelmingly on the latter, which prompted the developers to include this naming change in a patch released in January .

This did not sit well with the current mods of the subreddit, which then stripped the developers of any admin powers.

CI Games Start Their Own Official Lords of the Fallen Subreddt

Lords of the Fallen Update 1.058

In response to this, the developers have started their own subreddit, which they call the official The Lords of the Fallen subreddit. CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski announced it over on X/Twitter, where the executive said, “Join our new community-run Reddit page for Lords of the Fallen – the ONLY subreddit we’ll be supporting moving forward! Stay tuned for exclusive updates and enjoy gaming-focused discussions (no politics!) – the way a gaming page should be.”

The first Lords of the Fallen subreddit (unofficial one) had members leave, proclaiming that the mods are power-mad, as they delete threads and ban users that do not align with their views.

While we here at MP1st try to avoid talking about anything political and focus on just the games, that shouldn’t be the case for most gaming communities as well, no? Shouldn’t the discussion be centered around the games themselves instead of any political agenda?

Expect more updates throughout the year, as HexWorks is aiming to release patches until the game reaches version 2.0.

Xbox Phil Spencer Reassures Xbox Gamers Their Gaming Library Isn’t Going Anywhere Despite Growing Fear for Xbox’s Future

[summaraize]

It’s been a pretty wild last year for Xbox, as the massive console maker has seemingly began moving into being a third-party publisher. While that’s likely best for their business, it has brought up many debates and concerns within the Xbox community that the publisher is going the way of SEGA, meaning they’ll stop making consoles at some point in the future and focus entirely on being a software company.

Well, Xbox’s gaming CEO, Phil Spencer, has heard those concerns and reassured its fanbase that they plan on continuing to do what they are doing now, making sure Xbox gamer libraries will still be available for generations to come.

Phil Feels That Xbox Has Proven Itself Already, Though Their Future Is Focused On Reaching More Players

Xbox Handheld

Speaking in a recent interview with XboxEra, when pressed about the growing concerns that Xbox was going the way of SEGA, where it became a third-party company (no more consoles), Phil responded by explaining that what it is doing now within the Xbox ecosystem is something it wants to continue doing and ensuring libraries will still be accessible, though with more options than there are now.

Spencer explained, “I just want to show respect to the people who voice their concerns to me. I get it; I would never disrespect anybody who comes with me concerned. I’ve got a library of games on the Xbox console. I want to make sure I’ll continue to be able to play those games. Are we gonna still do hardware? Are we gonna still get to play the games the way we’ve always played? Am I gonna have to rent all my games? Can I still buy games? I get it like I get the questions. I think we’ve shown respect for people’s libraries over the generations with back compat and play anywhere and I want to continue to do that. You can buy every game that’s in Game Pass like there’s no thing we’re not trying to funnel everybody into one business model. Play the games the way you want to play them. We obviously have to run a good business, so we’ll have our pricing and everything that we do, but I want to make as many options as possible for the games that we have so they find more and more players.”

Spencer added, “It’s why embracing Windows and the Cloud has allowed us to grow. One of our fastest growing regions for us right now is Asia, and it’s not because we’re selling more consoles in Asia but through cloud and PC we’re finding more users year-over-year than any other place the fastest kind of platform is cloud. That’s the one that’s growing the fastest year-over-year, and those are players like you were talking about your friend or the UK , we were never going to catch that person with our console and so let’s  find them in a way that works and it’s better for Indiana Jones it’s better for Xbox”

Just last month, Phil commented on the future of Xbox hardware, saying that they want it to win based on capabilities, with hardware still being a critical part of what they do.

Are you concerned about the future of Xbox as a console? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Sonic Racing CrossWorlds to Feature One of the Largest Roster in the Sonic Racing Series

[summaraize]

In case you missed it, Sonic Racing CrossWorlds, a new Sonic Racing game, was announced during yesterday’s PlayStation State of Play event. While the game has no release date, SEGA is already planning a playable technical test for this month.

But that’s not all. New information has confirmed a list of characters, with the game being pegged as having the largest roster in the Sonic Racing series.

Gotta Go Fast If You Want to Keep Up With These Racers

As spotted by Sonic Stadium, below is a list of confirmed characters, which apparently appeared on the Sonic Racing CrossWolrds website before being taken down.

  • Sonic
  • Knuckles
  • Tails
  • Amy
  • Eggman
  • Jet
  • Wave
  • Storm
  • Shadow
  • Rouge
  • E-123 Omega
  • Vector
  • Charmy
  • Espio
  • Blaze
  • Silver
  • Cream
  • Zavok
  • Zazz
  • Big
  • Metal Sonic
  • Egg Pawn

Based on this list and the information provided by Sonic Stadium, this would be the largest starting roster for a Sonic Racing game thus far, with plans for more to be added post-launch. They won’t just be Sonic characters either, as SEGA notes that other IP characters that they own will also appear in Sonic Racing CrossWorlds.

As for who, well, that’s anyone’s guess, as SEGA list of characters is a pretty lengthy one. Personally, I wouldn’t mind seeing characters from the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series making an appearance, though that’s me, since I’m a big fan of the franchise.

What character, be it from Sonic, SEGA, heck, even from another publisher, would you like to see in Sonic Racing CrossWorlds?

Capcom Analyzed Data to Understand Why People Stopped Playing MH World; Designed Monster Hunter Wilds to Avoid Same Pitfalls

[summaraize]

While the Monster Hunter franchise might be one of Capcom’s biggest sellers in their catalog, the barrier to new players is a major concern for developers. Not only that but the devs are also concerned regarding players leaving the game after playing it for a while.

This is something the developers discussed when talking to MP1st during a preview event we attended.

Capcom’s Data States Players Some Players Don’t Even Reach the “Monster Hunting” Part Before Quitting

We asked Capcom about Monster Hunter Wilds’ player easement and accessibility for new players. Answering the questions were Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and Director Yuya Tokuda (via a translator).

The developers said, “For every Monster Hunter title that we have, we always think about new players starting the series with that title in the line. The same applies to Monster Hunter World, we created the game thinking this will be the first Monster Hunter that some people will play. As a result, we ended up with people enjoying the game worldwide, with many new players joining the series for the first time.”

“But there are obviously still people who didn’t play Monster Hunter World and people who played it but unfortunately left the game and stopped playing. We found that out through the data analysis, that we were able to retrieve with Monster Hunter World. We not only looked at where they stopped playing Monster Hunter World but also looked into the reason why they stopped playing,” the developers continued.

Adding to that, the developers talked about the data they’ve observed from Monster Hunter World and how they are using it to shape MH Wilds. “We analyzed that within the dev team and thought of things that maybe we could use to avoid that in Monster Hunter Wilds. We know it’s not simply the difficulty that users have trouble with. For some people, the true essence of enjoying Monster Hunter is the action against the monster, that’s basically the fun part. We noticed that some people didn’t even reach that part, so they quit before reaching the true fun experience of Monster Hunter. So we designed Monster Hunter Wilds in a way that people can reach that part of the game, enjoy it, and maybe continue to play to feel that Monster Hunter is truly a fun gaming experience. So Monster Hunter Wild had that in mind so that newcomers could smoothly adjust to play and have fun with it.”

Some of the things Capcom adjusted in MH Wilds compared to past Monster Hunter games is the addition of the Seikret, a mount that will auto-lead players to a monster. In past entries in the franchise, some players found it frustrating to wander around the map trying to find the monster they’re supposed to slay.

Stay tuned to our full Monster Hunter Wilds interview hitting the site very soon.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Marvel Rivals PvE Mode Not Planned by NetEase, Though Knows Player Base Wants It

[summaraize]

A few weeks ago, we reported on what appears to be a Kraken-like creature spotted in the Marvel Rivals update files, suggesting PvE (Player vs. Envrionment) is on the way. If you’re waiting for that, don’t hold your breath, as the developers have no plans to release something like it anytime soon.

This was confirmed by NetEase themselves, which confirmed there’s no current PvE mode planned for Marvel Rivals.

Marvel Rivals Is Not Getting a PvE Mode Anytime Soon

marvel rivals console kbm

Producer Weicong Wu was asked about PvE plans while speaking to IGN at the DICE Summit in Las Vegas this week.

“For now we don’t have any kind of a PvE plan, but our development team is continuously experimenting with new game play modes. So if we found that a new specific game mode is entertaining enough, fun enough, we would of course bring it to our audience,” Wu said.

Marvel Games executive producer Danny Koo also joined the conversation, and asked the interviewer whether they’d like to see a PvE mode added in. After getting a confirmation about it, Koo said, “Yeah, we believe there are some of our audience that would like the PvE mode. But also, you can see that if we come up with a hardcore PvE experience, that will be totally a different distinctive experience from what we have right now. So our development team has been continuously experimenting with different approaches to achieve that goal, maybe a lighter mode, in a lighter sense of that, and to see what would work best for our game.”

Based on NetEase’s responses, there don’t seem to be any plans to add PvE, though the studio seems to be aware of the interest and is working on something smaller in case. While PvE mode might not be available anytime soon, NetEase has been busy updating the game. Speaking of which, we should be getting another update this coming week, which adds The Thing and Human Torch to the game’s roster of heroes and villains.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Capcom Has No Endgame Raid Planned “Right Now”

[summaraize]

If you were hoping that Monster Hunter Wilds will feature endgame, raid-like activities called a Siege by the developers, you’ll sadly be disappointed by this news.

Don’t expect any raid-like activity to be in the game — at least at launch.

Capcom Explains Why Monster Hunter Wilds Won’t Launch With Siege Activities

In an interview with MP1st, we asked the developers if Monster Hunter Wilds will feature endgame raid-like quests. Aswering the questions were Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and Director Yuya Tokuda (via a translator) who said, “Currently, for Monster Hunters Wild, the general gameplay is planned for four-player multiplayer. Like we had for Monster Hunter World, which was the Kulve Taroth, which was a 16-player raid, we don’t have something like that planned for endgame for Monster Hunter Wild right now.”

We followed up and asked whether there was a technical reason for it and what the reason for the decision was.

The devs explained, “So similar to Monster Hunter World, the raid quest wasn’t available in the game, it was added as an update after the game launched. Similar to Monster Hunter World, we want users in Monster Hunter Wilds to generally get used to the gameplay first and enjoy it, and then move on to the more challenging part, more enjoyable content after they finish. So in the game itself, when we launch it, we don’t have plans for raid quests. It’s similar to how we ran Monster Hunter World, it’s an intention that we didn’t add it, and it’s not a technical one.”

If you’re unfamiliar with a Siege, it’s a high-rank quest where 16 players must cooperate to damage and destroy parts of an insanely massive monster. In Monster Hunter World, it’s the only activity that requires all players in one instance to band together for one goal, which is easier said than done.

While MH Wilds won’t feature a Siege at launch, that doesn’t mean Capcom can’t add it later. For Monster Hunter World, the game didn’t receive a Siege until eight months after its release. If the devs see a demand for it, I wouldn’t be surprised to see an update add this in.

In the same interview, the devs explained that hitstops in the game’s final version will be closer to what series fans are accustomed to.

Stay tuned to our full interview with the developers hitting the site soon.

Monster Hunter Wilds will be released on February 28 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

STALKER 2 New Update for Feb. 14 Released After Yesterday’s Massive Patch

[summaraize]

After yesterday’s massive STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl patch that housed over 1,700 improvements, GCS Game World has pushed out a follow up patch today. The STALKER 2 new update for Februyar 14 is live on Xbox and PC, and as one might expect, this houses a shorter list of fixes.

STALKER 2’s New Update Brings the Game to Version 1.2.1

Stalker 2 Update for November 29

The list of fixes in today’s patch include:

  • Fixed one of the crashes on loading save files related to AI logic.
  • Fixed one of the crashes on loading save files that were recorded when player had effects applied.
  • Fixed a few crashes related to lightning ball anomaly interaction with artifacts.
  • Fixed crash mostly occurred when moving away from hubs and during the Emission.

While we just got a follow-up update today, we wouldn’t be surprised to see another one released soon. Given the scope of yesterday’s patch, it’s understandable if something breaks because of it.

If we see another one from GSC Game World, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Report: Alan Wake 3, May Payne 1&2 Remake, Control 2 Release Windows Mentioned in Analyst Report Listed on Remedy’s Page

[summaraize]

Just the other day, Remedy Entertainment published its latest quarterly earnings report, in which the company mentioned that Alan Wake 2 has now sold two million units and started accruing royalties. However, what’s odd about this is that the company’s website also has an analyst report listed, which maps out the release dates of the studio’s upcoming games.

It mentions the target release dates for Alan Wake 3, Control 2, and the Max Payne remake.

Alan Wake 3 Might Not Be Available Until 2029

The analyst report from Remedy’s website has the image above (thanks, Okami!) and lists the release windows for the following games:

  • Max Payne 1&2 Remake – 2026
  • Control 2 – 2027
  • Alan Wake 3 – 2029
  • Control 3 – 2030

While these could all be analyst predictions, what’s odd is that Remedy has it on its website. If this is true, then this means we are getting FBC: Firebreak this year, Max Payne 1&2 Remake in 2026, and basically a Remedy Entertainment product every year until 2030. While nothing is mentioned for 2028, Control 2’s DLCs should fill that void (nothing has been announced, but you just know that game will feature story expansions given Remedy’s M.O.)

If this list is accurate, then we won’t be getting Alan Wake 3 until at least four more years. Mind you, it’s not as long as the wait from Alan Wake 1 to the sequel, but I wasn’t counting on that long of a wait to know what happens next.

Take note that nothing has been confirmed, and this could be a slight mixup on Remedy’s end. We’ve reached to the studio for a statement about this and will update the article if we get anything back.

If you’ve yet to play Alan Wake 2, we suggest remedying that immediately. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t played the first game, Remedy’s horror sequel is just that good of a game. Our review of it was very glowing where we said, “It’s one of the greatest survival horror games ever made, this shouldn’t be skipped. A fantastic example of how different types of media can crossover and create a very special outcome, it was absolutely worth the wait for Alan Wake to come up with a plan to escape the Dark Place and write an outstanding story about it for us to read, watch, play, and above all, enjoy.”

Hyper Light Breaker First Roadmap for Early Access Is Here

[summaraize]

Spring is in the air, at least in some states, as we northerners are still dealing with some pretty harsh winter weather. But that’s beside the point because, as the saying goes, Spring is in the air, and for Hyper Light Breaker, that means that early access players can expect the upcoming months to be filled with new content.

That’s right. The first Hyper Light Breaker roadmap is here, detailing everything coming this spring.

Hyper Light Breaker Has a Busy Spring Ahead, With More Planned for Summer

As you can see above, the first roadmap for Hyper Light Breaker is pretty packed, with content, balancing, bugs, and performance fixes planned for every month until April 2025. That’s just for this roadmap, as a “Summer Edition” roadmap is also being planned, which will run from May to July. Heart Machine plans to reveal it sometime in May.

Not a bad slate of planned stuff coming, and hopefully, by the time the 1.0 launch version is ready, the game will be in a much better state than it currently is. While gameplay-wise, Hyper Light Breaker is rather fun, its early access launch hasn’t been as solid as many had hoped for, with an array of issues plaguing the game, from bugs to performance issues.

The title currently has a mixed rating on Steam, with many voicing concerns over some of the mentioned issues. Heart Machine has vowed to improve the experience, and seeing this roadmap is a good first step in understanding how they’ll do it. Let’s hope it will be enough because underneath all the issues the early access currently has, there’s a pretty solid and fun cooperative game to be had here. I for one cannot wait to see how the game evolves, and hopefully for the better.

New Battlefield Game to Feature Map Set in Egypt Per Evidence Collected

[summaraize]

While the only bit of morsel Electronic Arts has fed shooter fans about the latest Battlefield game is a quick gameplay look from the Battlefield Labs reveal trailer, that’s enough for some people to find more info about the game.

While not official, members of the Battlefield community have spotted evidence pointing to one of the maps in the new Battlefield game being set in Egypt.

Battlefield Labs Reveal Trailer Location Points to Cairo, Egypt

new battlefield playtest

Battlefield community member Rader_ did some sleuthing and thanks to a video from LevelCap, the person has deduced the exact location of the battle shown in the teaser. From LevelCap’s video, they translated a sign saying “For the future of Egypt.”

“By comparing architectural details like air conditioning units, palm trees, and black-and-yellow road medians, I traced it to Cairo/Guiza.” claims the finder.

The high-resolution image of the tank revealed the battle was happening at a mosque, with the exact location spotted on Google Maps.

While not confirmed, the evidence found does seem concrete enough. If this pans out, it won’t be the first map set in Egypt, as Battlefeild 2042’s Renewal map is set in the easten desert of Egypt.

Hopefully, it won’t be long until EA releases more info about the in-development Battlefield game. According to the game’s Lead Producer, they are “cherry-picking” the best facet of previous Battlefield games to implement into the new one.

Knights in Tight Spaces Hands-on Preview – Similar Mechanics in a New Setting

[summaraize]

Last week, MP1st was invited to play a handful of games being published by Raw Fury. One such game, Knights in Tight Spaces, is a prequel of sorts, set in the same universe as developer Ground Shatter’s earlier game, Fights in Tight spaces. So, it’s a deck-building, turn-based strategy game, tuned up and set in the distant past. After going a few rounds in the early stages of the campaign, we have some impressions ready, along with confirmation of the upcoming game’s pending release date.

Time to Get Stylishly Medieval

Ground Shatter saw success with their 2021 release, the similarly titled Fights in Tight Spaces. That game has many of the same systems seen in Knights in Tight Spaces, but with a modern, even futuristic setting and an aesthetic more in line with games like SUPERHOT. Knights in Tight Spaces takes things back, all the way back to a medieval setting. Beyond being a change in scenery, this also allows for more fanciful enemies, such as skeletons, mages, etc.

We were able to play through a couple of story missions, which include some text-based cutscenes. These scenes play out with character art surrounding the story on either side, and the story playing out in a chat-like interface. There are occasionally choices to be made during these, with slightly different resolutions to each scene depending on the player’s choices. While we didn’t see it in action, we were also told that sometimes, your choices may cause you to remove a character from your party. You may then see that character later on, as an enemy.

Lots More Cards This Time, Coming Soon Too!

Knights in Tight Spaces is a turn-based deckbuilder game, like its predecessor. Each turn, you draw a fresh hand of seven cards – this time around, there are 300 cards to discover. They have a variety of effects, and cost a certain number of points (here called Momentum). You may use any number of them per turn, provided that you have enough energy to do so. Attacks usually have a limited range, so movement in the battlefield’s grid is important to decide as well. The edges of the grid can also be used to your advantage – if a move pushes an enemy back by a square or more, they can be pushed off the map and instantly killed.

The Unreal Engine is used in Knights in Tight Spaces, and it ran smoothly during our time with the game. From an artistic standpoint, this is easily as stylish as Fights in Tight Spaces, with a bright color palette, and instead of silhouetted characters, they are now more akin to line art. Moves are well-animated, and feature some brutal hits. Some are environment-aware, such as slamming an enemy’s head against a wall, or knocking them over an obstacle (and hopefully, out of the map).

Knights in Tight Spaces looks to be an in-depth turn-based strategy game that fans of the genre will no doubt have some fun with. With 300 cards to collect and utilize, there is sure to be a set of them for every play style. The best part? As of this writing, the release date has been officially announced, and it’s soon: Knights in Tight Spaces is set to release on March 4  for PC via Steam. So, you won’t have long to wait if this type of game piques your interest.
