Warframe Update 2.30 Drops in Time for TennoCon, Delivers New Cosmetics and More This July 20

Digital Extremes has delivered Warframe update 2.30 (PS5 version 1.038) on all platforms, and this patch falls on the same day as TennoCon 2024 kicks off! On PC, this will show up as Warframe update version 36.0.5, where players can also expect the Ember Heirloom Collection to be available.

Read on for the complete Warframe update patch notes for July 20 below where it details the fixes from the massive Jade Shadows patch released last month.

Warframe Update 2.30 Patch Notes | Warframe Update 1.038 Patch Notes:

New Player Experience Improvements:

  • Upon completing the Vor’s Prize Quest players will now receive an Inbox message with the Burston Blueprint and the resources required to craft it (with the exception of Ferrite which players will be able to acquire in the early Planet missions).
    • The goal here is to encourage and familiarize players with crafting in the Foundry, as it is an important part of your journey through Warframe (with the added bonus of a free weapon of course!).
  • Made several improvements to the flow and various movement tutorials in the Awakening Quest to reinforce intended behavior.
    • Ex: The wall run tutorial of the Awakening Quest now has a ghost Excalibur that shows players where to go.
  • Removed Kubrow spawns in Awakening Quest, so as to not distract the Grineer from their main target: the Tenno Skoom!
  • Added “Saya’s Vigil” in parentheses to Konzu’s “A Personal Favor” option to better indicate that that’s how you start the Quest.
  • Added popup when opening the in-game Market for the first time to introduce new players to it.
    • It reads: “Welcome to the Market! Here, you can buy items using Credits earned in missions or Platinum obtained through purchases. Use Credits to acquire Blueprints and craft items in your Foundry, or gain instant access with Platinum. Hover over Build requirements on an item’s Market page to learn how to acquire it through gameplay.”

General:

  • Helminth Coalescent and Helminth Invigoration Segments can no longer be built in the Foundry without the Helminth Segment installed in your Orbiter.
    • As these Segments cannot be used without the Helminth unlocked, it is only confusing to players if they build it beforehand.
  • Re-enabled  the “Change Loadout” controller input in  the Navigation menu.
    • This input automatically drags the virtual cursor to the new Arsenal UI Element  where you can customize your loadout to your  heart’s content!
  • Scans for the Shadow Stalker and Protector Stalker will now count as scans for his previously-unlocked variants, if not already fully scanned.
    • Ex: Scans for the Protector Stalker will now also contribute scans for Stalker and Shadow Stalker, if they are not already fully scanned.
    • This addresses players having issues earning scans for earlier-game Stalker variants as they progress through the Main Story.
  • Updated the Jade, Cantare, Harmony, and Evensong location descriptions to indicate that Ordis is found in the Drifter Camp now that Operation: Belly of the Beast has concluded.
  • Added Unique Trait descriptions to the Quatz and the Catabolyst to their Upgrade screens.
    • Quatz: “Uses Auto firing when hip-firing, and Burst firing mode when aiming. Reloading from empty deals an Electricity Status Effect to nearby enemies.”
    • Catabolyst: “Throws a Corrosive grenade when reloading. Reloading from an empty magazine throws a larger grenade with increased Damage, Critical Chance and Status Chance.”
  • Adjusted Jade’s Glory on High SFX as follows:
    • Reduced the volume of the chorus SFX while Jade is in motion. The chorus sound also no longer plays while Jade is stationary.
    • Players will no longer hear the Glory on High chorus SFX from Jades in their squad.
  • Changed Shivering Contagion’s Cold Status spread chance scaling with Mod Ranks, up to 100% at Rank 5.
    • Shivering Contagion was intended to give 5% per mod rank, reaching 30% chance at max rank. However, it was erroneously giving 50% per rank, reaching the maximum possible effect of 100% at Rank 1. Instead of reverting the mod to its original intended values, we have made it so that it can still reach 100% chance, but now requires the mod to be at max rank to get this guaranteed benefit. Here’s exactly what’s changed stats wise:
      • Previous intended spread chance per rank: 5/10/15/20/25/30
      • Bugged/Unintentional spread chance per rank (as explained above): 50/100/100/100/100
      • New spread chance per rank: 17/33/50/67/84/100
    • Updated its description to make it clearer that it activates when the Cold Status Effect is applied.
      • Now reads: “On Cold Status Effect: 100% chance to spread that status to other enemies within 6m”.
  • Made visual updates to Corpus control booth structures.

FIXES

PlayStation Specific Notes:

  • Improved performance of volumetric fog and reduced screen tearing for PS5 users playing in 4K.
    • Added a “Volumetric Fog” setting in the Graphics tab – you can set it to off, low, or medium.

Ascension Fixes:

  • Fixes towards projectiles phasing through the Ascension elevator while it’s in motion.
  • Fixed Boosted Ionic Charges incorrectly giving 20s of boost time if the elevator was not boosted.
    • Now all Boosted Ionic Charges grant 10s of increased speed, up to the cap of 50s for stacked charges.
  • Fixed the Sister Beacon side objective UI disappearing after a Host Migration.
  • Fixed Capsule not locking into elevator if Host migration occurs just before it docks – causing the mission to come to a halt.
  • Fixed remaining Sister Beacons not depawning after collecting the required 3.
  • Fixed a crash related to the first stage of Ascension missions.
  • Fixed a crash in Ascension missions.

General Fixes:

  • Fixed Jade Light Eximus targeting players with their Jade Light ability before they had been engaged in combat.
  • Fixed Shockprod and Stunna fishing spears causing a loss of function.
    • With this fix we re-added the ability to aim-down-sights for all fishing spears. As a refresher, this was removed as a workaround for the Shockprod and Stunna function loss.
    • Also fixed Melee attacking while Fishing clearing the custom fishing menu (i.e. baits, etc.).
  • Fixed Mag’s “Greedy Pull” not collecting pickups (ex: Endo).
    • With this fix, we have restored Greedy Pull’s LoS check back to render. In Hotfix 36.0.3, we had reverted it back temporarily to raycast to allow the ability to still pull pickups instead of not at all since the full fix required Code (which is in this Hotfix!).
  • Fixed cases of Melee Heavy Attack input not registering.
    • Also added the ability for Tennokai attacks to interrupt “not quite started” quick attacks.
  • Fixed Hildryn being unable to cast Ember’s Fire Blast Helminth ability.
  • Fixed Dagath’s Rakhali’s Cavalry not requiring enemies to be afflicted with Doom in order to apply armor strip.
  • Fixed throwing the Ebisu Spear at a fallen Gravid Blastema resulting in loss of function.
  • Fixed Overguard preventing players from parrying.
  • Fixed Melee-based foes no longer attacking while in Frost’s Snow Globe.
  • Fixed Wisp being unable to teleport to her Reservoirs after entering an Open Landscape mission from its respective town (ex: the Plains of Eidolon accessed via Cetus).
  • Fixed being able to equip both the Primed Deadly Efficiency and Deadly Efficiency Mods at the same time.
    • However, with this fix, you will now be able to equip Parallax Scope with Deadly Efficiency.
  • Fixes towards the Plasma Torch and regular shots dealing less damage than intended to the Narmer Scyto Raknoid in the Break Narmer “Sneaky Sabotage” mission.
  • Fixed new player accounts having the incorrect default HUD scale.
  • Fixed dying in the Undercroft resulting in the player having extra Decrees and Decree Rerolls upon returning to the Duviri landscape.
    • Also fixed cases of Drifters having “Guiding Hand” equipped as a weapon.
  • Fixed equipping the Awlspawn Syandana changing Ember’s default Energy colors.
  • Fixed Citrine’s Prex Card lying flat on the side in its diorama in Otak’s offerings.
  • Fixed sub factions not appearing on nodes in the Star Chart that have multiple missions active.
  • Fixed music overlapping in The Second Dream Quest intro cinematic.
  • Fixed male Drifters having bright tear ducts.
  • Fixed projectile-based Archguns being unable to damage Murmur Sarcophages.
  • Fixed the “Decorate Dormizone” option being available in the Quick Access wheel without owning the Vista Suite Key.
    • This is because the Quick Access option will take you to the door to enter the Vista Suite, but without the key you are unable to access it.
  • Fixed various Focus abilities showing the stat name in between |’s instead of the actual value.
  • Fixed various armor offset issues on the Drifter Vahd Suit.
  • Fixed offset issues with the Alastorn Leg Plates when equipped on Railjack Crew.
  • Fixed Cedo’s Alt Fire missing SFX.
  • Fixed Boreal’s Contempt only giving +30% instead of the intended +60% Damage from Status Effects at max rank.
    • Also updated the description to match the standard of other Status Damage mods.
  • Fixed Warframes sinking into the floor when using the Arsenal in the Zanuka Arena Simulacrum room. Turns out quicksand is a bigger threat in Warframe than previously thought.
  • Fixed some in-game text for the Prisoner side objective in Duviri not being translated.
  • Fixed Protector Stalker having an incorrect icon and diorama in the Codex.
  • Fixed the Tamm’s Fortune Decree missing HUD buff description.
  • Fixed the Synthel’s Outburst Decree having a PH tag in its HUD buff description.
  • Fixed a crash caused by Sevagoth’s Sow.
  • Fixed spotloading in the Simulacrum if the Host changed their Loadout while in a squad.
  • Fixed cases of enemies jittering in place due to pathing issues.
  • Fixed a rare crash when returning to the Orbiter.
  • Fixed spot-loading issue with Emotes.
  • Fixed performance issues in the Orbiter and Relays caused by Jade Shadows content.
  • Fixed performance issues in the Relays when approaching a player with a Mastery Rank Sigil equipped.

Code Fixes From Jade Shadows Update:

  • Improved materials of the posters in the 1999 stage of the Whispers in the Walls Quest.
  • Made optimizations to UI texture streaming.
  • Fixed Clients receiving self-damage from enemies dying from Blast’s detonation AoE.
  • Fixed a crash in Orphix Railjack missions.
  • Fixed 1 000,00 Numeric Separators setting causing asterisks to be used in place of spaces.
    • This was rather noticeable in the Syndicate Segment panel.
  • Fixed a crash caused by NPCs attempting to move to player to perform some kind of a context action (ex: Finisher), but no clear path is available to them.
  • Fixed a crash caused by Finishers.
  • Fixed a crash caused by Blast Status Effects.
  • Fixed some rare crashes when hitting Blast’s max stack count on enemies who are liable to become immune to Status Effects on damage.
  • Fixed Stalker’s Landing Craft appearing at Extraction in Ascension missions.
  • Fixed a crash caused by Finishers.
  • Fixed a crash caused by Kavat Companion.
  • Fixes towards a connectivity crash.
  • Fixes towards a crash caused by Blast Damage Status Effect.

In terms of the community, the game’s Discord channel now has over 500,000 members.

While numbers are well and good, NetEase has more to share, and that’s Once Human’s major update incoming this September! Read on for the details.

College Football 25 Skyrockets to No. 1 on PSN, Amasses Over 2.2 Million Unique Players in Early Access

It looks like EA’s foray into college football is a super successful one, as EA Sports’ College Football 25 has amassed a ton of players in its early access phase (it’s officially out today), and it even managed to beat some of the most popular games of all-time.

In a press release sent out, EA has announced that College Football 25 has managed to nab over 2.2 million unique players during Early Access, with an additional 600,000 players also jumping in via the EA Play trial. Note that in order to play the football sim in Early Access, you’ll need to pony up $100 for the game’s Deluxe Edition.

This achievement by the game is made even more impressive since the game is only available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Imagine if last-gen consoles and even PC players were allowed to jump in!

Adding to College Football 25’s accomplishments is how the game has now hit the no.1 spot on the PlayStation Network Store’s “Top Games“! EA’s sports title managed to topple the likes of Fortnite and even Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3/Warzone.

Not only that, but even on the PSN Store’s pre-order page, College Football 25 has taken the top spot, and even beating Call of Duty: Black Ops 6!

College Football 25 sees the return of the college football sim after more than a decade of drought. The last collegiate football game released was NCAA Football 2014 released way back in 2013. That 11-year hiatus proved to be effective, as it seems football fans are jumping into the game in droves.

For those not familiar with the game, check out some of its features:

  • Explosive College Gameplay: CampusIQ™ delivers wide open, fast-paced gameplay that matches the explosiveness of college football game days. The Wear and Tear System makes every hit count as you manage your players’ health, Pre-Snap Recognition makes the decision behind every snap matter more, and game-altering homefield advantages rattle your rivals in college football’s toughest places to play.
  • Iconic Atmospheres: The most iconic settings, stadiums and traditions of college football are showcased in College Football 25, as the sights, sounds, fight songs, mascots, commentators, bowl games and unique touches that make up game days and the College Football Playoffs come to life.
  • Chase College Greatness: Set a new standard for college football greatness by leading your program to the Natty as a created coach in fan-favorite Dynasty Mode, balance student-athlete life and take home the Heisman as a player in Road to Glory, or get competitive online in the college football experience of your choice in Road to the College Football Playoff and College Football Ultimate Team™.

Stay tuned to our review of College Football 25 hitting the site soon.

Valorant Update 1.000.006 Sneaks Out This July 19

Riot Games has pushed out Valorant update 1.000.006, and so far, it doesn’t seem this title update is available on PC but just for consoles. This patch comes after this week’s 9.0.1 title update on all platforms that brings champion balance tweaks and more. Today’s patch should (keyword here is “should”) fix the Xbox loading issues affecting players since the last patch.

Valorant Update 1.000.006 Patch Notes for July 19:

So far, the studio has not issued any patch notes just yet, but here are the known issues the dev team is looking into:

KNOWN ISSUES

General

When navigating Surrender menus, there’s a chance your controls can become locked for an entire round. Due to this, we’ve elected to disable the Surrender and Remake menus until we can properly fix the issue. Draw will remain functional.

Aside from that, there is a known issue affecting Xbox platforms, and the studio has confirmed that a “tentative fix” is being released right now.

XBOX PLAYERS

We’ve been working around the clock to triage a fix for the loading issues and are rolling out a tentative fix now. Thanks for your patience as we’ve sorted through a resolution. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, we’ll continue working on a solution and will keep you posted.

If the studio releases anything official in terms of the changelog, we’ll update the article. For those on Xbox, did this patch fix the loading problems? If so, leave a comment below and let us know.

Destiny‘s Trials of Osiris weekly PvP mode has returned this Friday with a new map and rewards. If you’re wondering about the current rotation, we’ve got you covered: MP1st’s new Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris rewards and map this week July 19, 2024 post lists down all that information in full below.

New Destiny 2 Trials of Osiris Rewards This Week July 19, 2024:

Trials of Osiris Map:

Altar of Flame

Flawless Reward:

  • Reputation Rank 4: Upgrade Module (2)
  • Reputation Rank 7: Enhancement Prism (3)
  • Reputation Rank 10: Trials Weapon (Changes for each rank reset)
  • Reputation Rank 13: Upgrade Module (2)
  • Reputation Rank 16: Trials Weapon (Changes for each rank reset)

Win individual rounds within each match to gain Trials reputation. The amount of reputation you gain increases with each round you’ve won on your card. Earn enough reputation, and you’ll be able to claim a Trials Engram from Saint-14! This engram can be focused into any currently available trials loot you have previously obtained, or it can be taken to Master Rahool for a random Trials drop. Your reputation increases after every match completion, based on the number of round-wins on your card, regardless of the result of that match itself (win or lose, 0-5 or 5-4).

Once you have gone Flawless, keep playing! Every win you achieve while at the 7-win level, even if you lose your Flawless, has a chance to drop bonus Trials Engrams, adept weapons, prisms, and even Ascendant Shards. There is no penalty for losing once you’ve made it to the Lighthouse!

When you’re done, you can cash in your 7-win passage for one additional adept drop, granted you have gone Flawless that week. This resets your card so you can start anew.

Passages

Name Perk Cost
Passage of Persistence Losses following a win remove the win from the card. Reaching seven wins rewards the weekly Adept weapon. Reaching seven wins without having a win removed grants access to the Lighthouse. This passage cannot be used to focus Adept weapons. 1500 Glimmer
Passage of Ferocity Your third match win grants a bonus win. 1500 Glimmer
Passage of Mercy Forgives one loss per run. Forgives a second loss if you have not yet been flawless this week. 1500 Glimmer
Passage of Wealth Increased reputation from match wins on a ticket. 2500 Glimmer
Passage of Confidence Grants bonus rewards from Flawless Chest. 5000 Glimmer

Hunt: Showdown 1896 ESRB Rating Surfaces

It seems Crytek might be planning something with the Hunt: Showdown game (or franchise), as a new rating for what’s called “Hunt: Showdown 1896” has surfaced on the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) website.

The rating mentions it’s set for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and has an “M” for Mature rating which is to be expected.

Rating Summary:

This is a first-person monster hunting game set in a fantastical version of the Victorian era. Players use bladed bats, clubs, brass knuckles, and pistols to kill zombie-like creatures and human rivals. Combat is highlighted by impact sounds, gunfire, and blood-splatter effects. Some weapons allow players to cave in zombies’ heads or to cut off their limbs. One type of zombie explodes into blood and viscera when killed; another type is depicted wearing human skin as a cape.

Could this be for DLC or maybe a Hunt: Showdown sequel? It could, but if we had to wager a guess, this has something to do with the game’s migration from last-gen to current-gen happening this August. The big game engine upgrade being accompanied by a game rebrand does make sense from a marketing point of view. That said, we are guessing here. We’ve reached out to Crytek about the story, and will update the article if we get a statement back.

What are you hoping Hunt: Showdown 1896 is? Leave a comment below and let us know.

The First Descendant Update 1.09 Rolled Out for Various Gameplay Fixes This July 19

After yesterday’s big 1.0.3 patch, Nexon has released The First Descendant update 1.09 (TFD PS5 version 1.009) on all platforms, and this brings in a few more fixes related to gameplay. Players can expect the pattern of Khulan to appear correctly, alongside other fixes. Read on for what’s new in the official patch notes for the looter shooter’s July 19 title update.

The First Descendant Update 1.09 Patch Notes | The First Descendant Update 1.009 Patch Notes:

 Platforms

– Steam, XBOX SERIES X│S, XBOX ONE, PS4, PS5

■ Patch details

– Fixed the issue where Frame Generation of FSR was not functioning correctly.

– Fixed the issue where kills were not counted when monsters were defeated using the Viessa’s skills “Frost Road” and “Blizzard”.

– Fixed the issue where the pattern of Khulan in the dungeon of Fortress was not appearing as intended.

※ The reset issue of the evolution stage for the Bunny’s Speed Awakened One skin will be resolved today by restoring the reset data and combining it with the accumulated data after the maintenance on Thursday, 7/18. Please note that a one-time disconnection may occur during the restoration process

For those who got two patches to download and install yesterday, you’re not alone. For some reason, Nexon released two patches for the game yesterday, though the second one had a smaller set of changes:

Fixed crash issue during Bunny’s Exclusive Quest “Birthday” cutscene

– Optimized frame rate for the final cutscene in the Fortress (Destroy the Ironheart)

※ Applied in advance through server maintenance for Steam and PS5.

In terms of cheaters, don’t hesitate to report them to Nexon, as the developers have already banned over 4,000 accounts in the game’s initial launch phase due to cheating and even exploiting the in-game store.

XDefiant “Outperformed Expectations,” Ubisoft Cites “Strong Average Revenue Per Session Day”

It looks like Ubisoft has finally acknowledged XDefiant’s achievements, and so far, it seems the game is exceeding expectations set by the publisher. This was confirmed by Ubisoft in its latest quarterly earnings report where XDefiant was mentioned.

According to Ubisoft, XDefiant “outperformed expectations” and it was due in part to “acquisition and strong average revenue per session day” (whatever that means).  Check out the full statement from Ubisoft’s report:

XDefiant launched its Season 0 on May 21 and is off to an encouraging start. The game, that topped viewership charts, acquired more than 10 million players within its first two weeks, with players praising the thrilling, fast-paced gameplay and the map variety. Two additional game modes have been added since launch: Team Death Match (by popular demand) and Capture The Flag. The game outperformed expectations thanks to acquisition and strong average revenue per session day. Beyond Q1, the launch of Season 1 on July 2 marked the beginning of the quarterly roadmap of content updates for the game, that will bring additional factions inspired by iconic Ubisoft franchises, maps, weapons and game modes as well as progressively deploy new engagement features.

This is definitely good news for the player base, right? The devs have a whole lot of stuff lined up for players, with some even leaking via a datamine. While the shooter definitely shows promise in terms of longevity and fun, we’re hoping most of its issues will be patched away bit by bit. Some of the issues we discussed in our in-depth review of the free-to-play shooter.

In the same report, Ubisoft has confirmed that both The Division Resurgence and Rainbow Six Mobile have been delayed.

Surprised at XDefiant’s success? What do you hope and want Ubisoft to do with the game moving forward in terms of monetization?

The Division Resurgence, Rainbow Six Mobile Quietly Delayed, No Longer Expected in FY25

Announced two years ago, and originally set to be released in fall of 2023, the mobile version of The Division franchise — titled “The Division Resurgence” — has been delayed once again. Alongside it, Rainbow Six Mobile has also been pushed back.

The news comes from Ubisoft’s latest sales report, where the company announced that they are not expecting both games to launch no sooner than April 2025 (which is the beginning of Fiscal Year 2026).

Full-year 2024-25

The line-up for the rest of FY25 includes Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws. Rainbow Six® Mobile and The Division® Resurgence are no longer expected in FY25 as the teams are taking the necessary time to ensure that these experiences deliver on expectations with optimized KPIs in the context of a demanding yet very large market

The last official news we got for it was a CGI trailer mentioning how it’s being prepped for a fall 2023 release. Needless to say, that hasn’t materialized at all.

While The Division’s mobile version might not be ready just yet, the main game in the franchise, The Division 2, is still going strong. Not only did Ubisoft announce a new roadmap and confirmed that new story DLC is set for next year, there’s even a Seasons 2.0 change incoming that’s currently being cooked at Ubisoft after player feedback was less-than-stellar.

As for Rainbow Six Mobile, it was announced two years ago, and Ubisoft has remained quiet about it ever since.

  • Hailing from the brand-new Nahantu region, the Spiritborn have a rich history that revolves around their dedication to protecting the Spirit Realm, a ghostly reflection of Sanctuary where the souls of the jungle have a purpose beyond life.
  • The Spirit Guardians represent the connection between humans and the natural world. The warrior sees her strength in the Gorilla, the hunter sees his speed in the Jaguar, the strategist sees their vigil in the Eagle, and the apothecary sees her practice in the Centipede and the decay it devours.

At Level 30, players can choose a secondary bonus from the same Guardian or a different one that will either strengthen the bond or intertwine it with another Guardian’s mechanics.

Report: Potential Concept Art for New PlayStation Action-Adventure Game Featuring “Intense Violence” Surfaces

About two months ago in May, movies and games insider DanielRPK shared intriguing details on his Patreon account. The report centered around a casting call for an upcoming PlayStation first-party title, with Jamie Bafus, Senior Manager of Casting and Talent at Sony PlayStation Studios Worldwide, listed as Casting Director.

The casting call was specifically for an action-adventure game that promised intense violence and potential profanity. While the exact title remains a mystery, the project was described as likely to receive an “M for Mature” rating. Two roles were up for grabs: hair reference models for a salt & pepper gray-haired man (40-60 years old) and a darker brunette woman (20-60 years old).

An interesting detail that not many people noticed were the attached images on the casting page. Although these images served as a reference for the characters, they cleverly concealed their faces. This is standard practice for hair references, but the interesting part comes when you notice that the characters’ clothing were also hidden. Could this be an intentional move to keep the game’s theme under wraps?

Upon closer examination, the reference images reveal some details on the characters, such as in the image of the woman, where you can see that her old age is evident from the wrinkles on her neck. While the image of the man portrays him with a bushy beard and curly hair.

Now, if you’re wondering which studio might be behind this project, we can’t do much more than speculate. However, an interesting connection can be made. The casting call took place on May 21, and just two days later, Neil Druckmann, Creative Director of acclaimed franchise The Last of Us, made a statement about how Naughty Dog’s new IP could redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming. Given Naughty Dog’s track record with intense and violent titles, could this casting call be linked to their next groundbreaking project? Only time will tell.

We’re digging deeper into this unannounced PlayStation action-adventure game, and once we know more, we’ll let our readers know.
