Bug Fixes
Fixes to Player Controls:
Changed the connection points for inkrails in multiplayer battle modes to be transparent when close to the camera, making it easier to target opponents.
Fixed an issue where the special animation played when a player hit another player in a state that prevents damage (such as from the Booyah Bomb or Reefslider) with all three shots from a single trigger pull of a H-3 Nozzlenose or H-3 Nozzlenose D, regardless of the fact that the other player cannot be defeated.
Fixed an issue where unintended coloring displayed for the part of the Nautilus 47 that shows the ink color.
Fixed an issue where, when a player hit a single opponent with multiple shots from a brella’s scattershot at the same time, the number of animations that indicate hits was sometimes less than the number of shots that hit.
Fixed an issue where, when a player performed certain actions while the Splat Brella’s canopy was gone, it was sometimes possible to fire the scattershot again after a shorter interval than normal.
Fixed an issue with the Undercover Brella where the interval between continuously fired scattershots was sometimes longer than normal when the destroyed canopy recovered while the player was holding the ZR Button to fire continuously.
Fixed an issue with stringers where, when fired vertically from a height close to the ground at an angle that is nearly straight upward, some arrows would sometimes land at the player’s feet immediately after firing.
Fixed an issue where, when a player performed certain actions immediately before the Crab Tank ended, they would sometimes ready their sub weapon even when not pressing the R Button.
Fixed an issue where, when a player threw a Tacticooler while moving backward and aiming diagonally upward, sometimes the Tacticooler would be placed at the player’s feet.
Fixed an issue where, when a player defeated a foe who was about to activate Kraken Royale, the next time that foe activated the special, the animation indicating that the Kraken Royale effect is about to end would sometimes play from the start.
Fixed an issue with the ink fists created by Triple Splashdown where, when they touched terrain moving horizontally from below, they sometimes moved horizontally along with the terrain.
Fixed an issue where, when a player used Triple Splashdown while riding an inkrail, the player’s position sometimes moved horizontally.
Fixed an issue in Clam Blitz mode where the display showing the number of clams held by a player was sometimes hidden behind other displays.
Fixed an issue in Clam Blitz mode where, depending on the weapon the player was equipping, the screen sometimes did not zoom in where aimed when holding a clam or power clam at the ready.
Fixed an issue in Clam Blitz mode where players could sometimes get on top of the basket by using Triple Splashdown toward the goal with certain timing.
Fixes to Multiplayer:
Fixed an issue in Scorch Gorge in Tower Control mode where players who used the tower and Triple Splashdown in certain spots were able to get into and stay inside terrain.
Fixed an issue in Eeltail Alley in Tower Control mode where players who used the tower and Triple Splashdown in certain spots were able to get into and stay inside terrain.
Fixed an issue in Undertow Spillway in Tower Control mode where players who used the tower and Triple Splashdown in certain spots were able to get into and stay inside terrain.
Fixed an issue in Hammerhead Bridge in Tower Control mode where players who used the tower and Triple Splashdown in certain spots were able to get into and stay inside terrain.
Fixed an issue in Hammerhead Bridge in Rainmaker mode where players who used Triple Splashdown with certain timing from the goal were able to invade their opponents’ base.
Fixed an issue in Hammerhead Bridge in Clam Blitz mode where some clams generated in the stage before the start of the battle were generated inside terrain.
Fixed an issue in Museum d’Alfonsino in the Rainmaker mode where players who used the Rainmaker shield and Kraken Royale were able to clip into terrain from certain locations and stay there.
Fixed an issue in Mahi-Mahi Resort where players sometimes clipped into terrain when using a Super Jump to certain locations at the timing when the water level changes.
Fixed an issue in Wahoo World where the ink fist created by Triple Splashdown sometimes impacted walls near the center.
Fixed an issue in Wahoo World where players who used Super Jump and Triple Splashdown were able to get into and stay in unintended locations.
Fixed an issue in Flounder Heights where players who used Super Jump and Triple Splashdown were able to get into and stay in unintended locations.
Fixed an issue in Flounder Heights in Tower Control mode where players who used the tower and Triple Splashdown in certain spots were able to get into and stay inside terrain.
Fixed an issue in Manta Maria where certain pillars did not display on the Turf Map.
Fixed an issue in Humpback Pump Track in Tower Control mode where players who used the tower and Triple Splashdown in certain spots were able to get into and stay inside terrain.
Fixed an issue in Shipshape Cargo Co. where falling at certain spots while doing a dualies Dodge Roll sometimes caused the player to be submerged in water on the floor.
Fixed an issue in Robo ROM-en where it was not possible to swim on certain inkable walls.
Fixed an issue in Robo ROM-en where players who used Triple Splashdown were able to climb to the top of walls near the center of the stage.
Fixed an issue in Robo ROM-en where it was possible to select spots when doing a Squid Spawn where you cannot actually land.
Fixed an issue in Robo ROM-en where players who used the Crab Tank were able to climb atop certain walls.
Fixed an issue in Bluefin Depot where, when a player boarded an elevator and then got off immediately, the elevator would continuously waver up and down.
Fixed an issue in Bluefin Depot in Splat Zones where it was possible to use certain methods to clip into terrain.
Fixes to Salmon Run:
Fixed an issue where the damage dealt to Salmonids using the loaned N-ZAP ‘85 was lower than the damage dealt to enemies with N-ZAP ‘85 in multiplayer battles.
The damage dealt by loaned weapons sometimes differs from the multiplayer battle weapons of the same name, but as a general rule they do not deal less damage than their multiplayer battle mode counterparts.
The damage dealt by the multiplayer battle N-ZAP ‘85 was increased in Ver. 6.1.0, making it deviate from the general rule. This has now been fixed.
Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented dealing damage to Grillers with the Reefslider’s charge attack.
Fixed an issue where players would take a large amount of damage when Kraken Royale ended while inside a Mudmouth, and made it so that the player is instead pushed outside of the Mudmouth.
Fixed an issue that prevented obtaining normal Power Eggs when a player hit a non-weak point part of a Griller with attacks from weapons like the Grizzco Slosher.
Fixed an issue that sometimes made Fish Sticks appear less frequently in wave three when the tide level is the same for waves one and three, but wave two has a different tide level.
Fixed an issue where shooting the surface of the water would damage Big Shots submerged in the water.
Fixed an issue that sometimes caused Drizzlers to fire shots at a lower position than intended when aiming for a player in a cannon at a high position.
Fixed an issue where Megalodontias that ate Steelheads were not damaged by the Steelhead’s explosion.
Fixed an issue in Salmonid Smokeyard where sometimes a player who was defeated atop a propellervator would respawn on the water and be submerged there continuously.
Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented acquiring certain Golden Eggs when in an unstable network environment.
Made it so that the explosion damage from destroying Horrorboros bombs is applied to Flyfish with open containers.
Fixed an issue where the explosion damage from destroying Horrorboros bombs was less than intended.
Fixes to Splatfests:
Slightly adjusted ink color during mirror matches in Splatfest Battles and Tricolor Battles to address an issue where, depending on the stage, ink color felt too bright.
Fixed an issue where, when a player ended the previous Splatfest with festival shells, immediately after starting the next Splatfest festival shells would display in the match menu even if the player did not actually have festival shells.
Other Fixes
Fixed an issue in the square where, when a player disconnected from the internet by putting the console to sleep then ended sleep mode and resumed the game, the player would be returned to the offline square even if it was possible to return to the online state.
Fixed an issue where, when a player zoomed in on a battle replay before restarting the replay from the beginning and switching to Top-Down Camera, the camera remained zoomed.
Fixed an issue where elevator positions were sometimes not replicated properly when a player played a battle replay for Bluefin Depot and moved (set) the replay position.
Fixed an issue where, when a player played a battle replay for Tower Control mode and moved (set) the replay position to a time after a checkpoint has been passed, sometimes the checkpoint that ought to have been passed continued to display.
Fixed an issue where the player’s gear did not display properly when certain actions were taken on the Equip screen.
Changed the term “Neo Splatana Stamper” to “Splatana Stamper Nouveau.”
Fixed the translation for Spiked Duck Boots in certain languages.
The next patch should be out sometime next month, and once it’s released, we’ll let our readers know.
In case you didn’t know, there’s a new Contra game in the works and it’ll be released soon! Konami has announced that WayForward’s Contra: Operation Galuga is locked and loaded for a March 12 release on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC for $39.99!
There’s a new trailer released today as well, which features the game’s combat, weapons and more.
Contra: Operation Galuga Demo Available Now
According to Konami, a demo is available now on digital storefronts which features sampling of content from the first and third stages of the game, and is even playable for up to four players. If players unlock the demo, they will receive bonus content in the final version of the game.
About Contra: Operation Galuga:
A from-the-ground-up reimagining of the revolutionary Contra NES/arcade game from the 1980s, Contra: Operation Galuga lets players choose from a group of elite commandos, including hardcore protagonists Bill Rizer and Lance Bean, as they blast their way through eight stages of mayhem against an alien horde controlled by the Red Falcon terrorist group. Wielding iconic weapons like the Spread Shot, Crush Bombs, and Laser Beam, as well as character-specific abilities including double-jumps, sliding, and grappling, plus the new power to Overload weapons for even more offensive and defensive options, players can expect relentless excitement and intensity as they tackle the game’s Story, Arcade, and Challenge modes.
While featuring updated visuals, this new Contra game seems to stick to the franchise’s tried and true run ‘n’ gun gameplay…something I gather old school gamers will be glad for.
Following this week’s major title update for DayZ, some might be wondering if the game will be getting more major patches this year. Fret not, as Bohemia Interactive has confirmed “robust support” for DayZ in 2024!
According to the studio, this year represents a significant departure from their typical update delivery model. However, players can take comfort that more updates are planned in 2024 and “beyond.” Players can expect new character cosmetics, there’s also a long-range rifle to be unveiled at a later adte.
On the gameplay tuning side of things, the audio team is hard at work on the major task of reworking the sounds of firearms, with other parts of the game’s audio getting touched up as well. Players can expect new action sounds coupled with a balancing of the audio that’s tied to player actions, and there’s ambient music in the works as well.
Bohemia is also planning to introduce a richer variety of wildlife, improving their terrain tools (Terrain Builder primarily), which should make the modding community’s lives easier. The studio is also planning on elevating survival mechanics from extreme conditions to medical challenges, which will test the player’s mettle and have them adapt to new survival strategies.
In terms of events, the yearly ones like the Halloween event, Christmas festivities and the Walpurgis Event are all confirmed to be making a return this year. The devs are also looking into the possibility of hosting new events in collaboration with other games (they hinted that legacy DayZ players might have an idea of what they’re referring to).
While no timetable has been given on what’s next, this is a good sign for the community that the devs have laid out what’s essentially a roadmap for 2024. Hopefully, we’ll see a proper DayZ roadmap revealed in the future, and once we get one, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

The newest Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League update is out, and while it was meant to fix several bugs and bring improvements to the game, it seems it has done quite the opposite for some, as reports of infinite loading have begun surfacing along with other issues.
Suicide Squad Infinite Loading Bug is Causing Players to Force Close the App
Reports have surfaced on Reddit , that the latest patch for Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League may have broken the game entirely. Players on the console and PC are both reporting an infinite loading bug occurring during the end of missions, in which the only fix is to close out the app entirely and relaunch it.
Thankfully, any rewards earned during the mission are being saved, though it’s still an annoyance to have to do this every time it happens. The infinite loading bug isn’t tied to the end of the mission either, as I have also experienced it trying to load into the game and transitioning into an online lobby. There are far more noticeably longer load times in comparison to before this update.
At this time, Rocksteady Studios has yet to acknowledge the issues, though we’re sure they see the reports of them. Should they issue any updates, we’ll be sure to let you know, though we expect a patch will likely be dropping to address this issue soon.

Out of the lot, Hi-Fi Rush is probably the most prominent one, though it’s appearance on Sony’s platform isn’t really surprising given the rumors have been circulating for months now. You can read our review of Hi-Fi Rush here to see why we hold the game in high regard.

Just last week, Xbox announced that they would be bringing four of their console exclusives over to new platforms. At the time, they didn’t reveal which four titles, but many have speculated, and it seems that one of those speculations has been proven right, as today, during the Nintendo Direct, the Xbox officially confirmed that Rare’s online survival action-adventure, Grounded, is coming to the Nintendo Switch on April 16, with Obsidian Entertainment’s Pentiment arriving tomorrow on the platform.
Grounded Nintendo Switch Trailer:
We can’t say we’re surprised to see these being the first Xbox exclusives to hit the Nintendo Switch, though whether or not they come to PlayStation is another question. If they do, we expect an announcement real soon.
Pentiment Launch Trailer:
For those not familiar with Pentiment, it was released in 2022 on Xbox and PC, and was met with overwhelmingly positive reaction,
Here’s a brief description on what the game is about (via Steam):
ABOUT THIS GAME
From Obsidian, this game is a historical narrative-driven game focusing on character development, heavily stylized art, and choice-driven storytelling in early 16th century Bavaria. Players will play as Andreas Maler, a clever illustrator caught up in a series of murders in Tassing and Kiersau Abbey over the course of twenty five years. Players will be responsible for conducting their own investigation to decide the fate of the community, but each decision will have lasting consequences and inexorably draws Andreas closer to the center of an underlying conspiracy.
Grounded will be available on the Nintendo Switch on April 16, with Pentiment launching tomorrow.

Shadow of the Erdtree voucher code and official soundtrack
Alongside the pre-orders going live, Bandai Namco has also revealed the Shadow of the Erdtree key features.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Key Features:
A New Story
Guided by Empyrean Miquella, players are beckoned to the Land of Shadow, a place obscured by the Erdtree where the goddess Marika first set foot.
In these strange new lands, players discover the dark secrets of the world as they meet others who follow in Miquella’s footsteps with ulterior motives.
Exploring a Familiar World Full of New Secrets
ELDEN RING Shadow of the Erdtree takes players beyond the Lands Between to explore the Land of Shadow, a completely new world from ELDEN RING.
Players can seamlessly travel back and forth between its vast maps interspersed with diverse situations and meticulous dungeons where menacing enemies roam
A Further-deepened RPG
Shadow of the Erdtree adds new weapons, equipment, weapon skills and magic not found in the base game ELDEN RING, along with new enemies, boss encounters and plotlines to further increase players’ RPG freedom.
Take on these threats with the new powers you can acquire.
Don’t forget, the base game is needed in order to play the upcoming expansion. While the DLC is a tad pricey, knowing FromSoftware, this should be packed to the brim with content that should make the price (hopefully) worth it.
Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware have finally revealed the Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree DLC release date and it’s June 21, 2024! Alongside the release date announcement, a new gameplay trailer has also been released giving players a look at what to expect from the game’s major expansion.

As expected, Rocksteady hasn’t released the official patch notes just yet, and we’re expecting that to change once maintenance has concluded. Thankfully, the studio did reveal some of the things they’re working on.
Server and login issues are top priority, but here are some of the gameplay changes the devs are looking into (via our article on why Burn damage got nerfed first before tackling more important issues).
Changes to the Promethium Game Loop – Rocksteady says they are seeing an imbalance where players need to play too many Metropolis missions to get Promethium for Incursion missions, Killing Time or the Mayhem missions. To solve this, the studio is making a big and fundamental change to the loop as Running Hell will reward 3000 Promethium for completing Tier 1, and each subsequent tier will reward an increasing amount of Promethium. Once the change is made, Raising Hell will be the best way to farm Promethium fast.
This change will mean that players will get to explore and interact with Metropolis in new ways.
Mutator Balancing: Boom and Affliction Immunity – The studio is considering excluding Suicide Strikes and Shield Harvesting from triggering Boom, so that players can still use all their abilities, but will still have to consider your positioning carefully when taking on enemies with other attacks.
Rocksteady is also considering modifying the Affliction Immunity so that the effect will be removed from enemies whenever they take damage, rather than just critical hits. The devs hope that these changes open up build and playstyle possibilities.
Lower Tier Legendary Items – The studio’s intent for Legendary gear is that it would be a viable part of endgame builds, and in some cases, even be cornerstone items. Rocksteady believes there is room for some of the lesser used Legendary items to find a use with more experimentation, as some of these lower tiered Legendary items are not really being used in endgame builds, given they can’t keep with the raw stats that other Legendary, Notorious and Infamy set items have.
Once the patch notes are out, we’ll update the article with the info, so refresh this from time to time.

If you thought EA and Criterion Games were done with Need for Speed Unbound, think again, as the publisher and studio have just revealed another year of full support! New modes, more cars, bug fixes, and much more have been outlined in the Need for Speed Unbound Year 2 roadmap.
Need for Speed Unbound Year 2 Roadmap
Evolving Volumes
We’re committing to adding four new volumes of content in the next year, each launching every few months. We aim to deliver some exciting themed updates, with at least one new major mode added to each volume. We will also continue to build on and evolve with each time. Adding more events, more challenges, new content, Ranks to earn, and new progression to chase. We will deliver at least two new fully customizable cars as part of the Speed Pass. And when we say cars, we mean cars in the NFS sense, like no one else creates. We aren’t just talking base models here and stock paint there; we are talking cars that come with fully customizable body kits with a myriad of interchangeable parts so you can tweak your ride just the way you want it.
Most Requested Bug Fixes and Improvements
We really want to be fixing and focusing on the things that you all care about most (like adding realistic driving effects last December), but as a small team, we need to prioritize where we spend our time, and it will always focus on what we feel is best for you all. Every improvement we try to make is a trade-off between something new and something different. So we’ll be closely monitoring your comments and feedback and coming to you with regular communications about what we’re learning along the way.
Premium Speed Pass*
Starting with Volume 6, we are introducing an all-new premium track to the Speed Pass that will grant you instant access to one of our hot new vehicles and unlock the ability to earn all its deep customisation content. It also includes custom versions of the vehicle, and it’s where you can find our hottest new customisation options each season. Refining our Speed Pass this way is how we can keep delivering unique new content and gameplay to you through a more simplified approach. If that’s not your thing, though, we will still be offering a free track of the Speed Pass with new vehicles and customizations for you to enjoy.
Always Be Learning
We see this as a year to test and learn and understand what works best for you. Committing to an extended Unbound live service allows us to really build on feedback, which we’ll be gathering in a few ways. We’re working closely with a dedicated Player Council – a great bunch of NFS influencers, core community members, and players to understand what’s important to them and their communities. We’ll be increasing the amount of telemetry we track from the games to better understand through gameplay data what’s working for you. And we’ll look to close the feedback loop by being as transparent as possible with you, letting you know what we’ve heard and what we can and can’t do.
Talk about a surprise! Seeing the game’s last update was three months ago, many had assumed that support for the title was dying down. Clearly, that wasn’t the case, and we’re glad to see another year of content coming!
