Battlefield 2042 Down for EA App With Error Code 106133 This October 14 (Update)

Those trying to log in to Battlefield 2042 using the EA App, you might have been noticed that you’re having issues doing that. Well, it’s not just you, as Battlefield 2042 down reports have surfaced for PC gamers with error code 106133 showing up this October 14.

Battlefield 2042 Down for EA App With Error Code 106133:

Update: EA has announced that this issue has been resolved.

Here’s the announcement from EA:

In many cases, this issue can be fixed by performing some troubleshooting steps, like the following:

  • Switching between Steam Offline and Online modes:
    • Switching Steam into ‘Offline mode’ > fully closing Steam (make sure that it’s not running anymore) > opening Steam again and putting it back in ‘Online mode’
  • Clearing the cache of the EA app: EA app Reovery (Top Left Menu > Help > App Recovery)
  • Ensure that your EA and Steam accounts are linked: https://help.ea.com/help/pc/link-ea-and-steam/
  • Repair/Verify your game based on which client you are launching from
    • Steam – Verify in your library

This is rather unfortunate, as BF2042 has seen its Steam player count reach new highs given the Season 6 content roll out and the free play access ongoing now.

Once more development about this surfaces, we’ll let our readers know. If you know of another workaround, leave a comment below and let us know.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Update 1.001.002 Swings Out October 14

What may be considered the “day one” update, Insomniac Games released Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Update 1.001.002 on the PS5 ahead of launch.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Update 1.001.002

Size: 1.8GB

Unfortunately, there are no notes now as of writing, and considering that the game has yet to be released, we likely won’t get any.

While Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has yet to be released, preload for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is already available before launch. With reviewers having access to the game weeks ahead, this update addresses issues that surfaced during that time.

Therefore, it would be wise to download this update now to avoid running into potential issues at release. For those planning on buying the title physically, this update will be available once you’ve installed the disc. Digital owners can download it ahead if they’ve preordered, though it will be included as part of the initial install for those who plan on buying on release or after.

We’ve reached out to Insomniac Games to see if they can shed any light on this patch and will update the post with notes should we get any information.

About Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Spider-Men, Peter Parker and Miles Morales, return for an exciting new adventure in the critically acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Man franchise for PS5.

Swing, jump and utilize the new Web Wings to travel across Marvel’s New York, quickly switching between Peter Parker and Miles Morales to experience different stories and epic new powers, as the iconic villain Venom threatens to destroy their lives, their city and the ones they love.”

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Utilizes AI to Voice One of the Deceased Actors

It has been revealed that CD Projekt Red used artificial intelligence to recreate the voice of Polish artist Miłogost Reczek — with the permission of the family — in Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.

The actor was an integral part of the game as he played the role of Dr. Victor Vektor. Unfortunately, he passed away back in 2021.

The original idea was to hire a different voice actor for this role and rerecord his lines in the original game. However, CDPR’s localization director, Mikolaj Szwed, did not like this approach.

We didn’t like this approach as Reczek was one of the best Polish voice talents and his performance in the game as the doctor Viktor Vektor was stellar.

Instead, they decided to use voice-cloning software Respeecher to make the dialogue sound like Miłogost Reczek.

This way we could keep his performance in the game and pay tribute to his wonderful performance as Viktor Vektor.

To make it happen, they first contacted the deceased actor’s family, and his sons ‘were very supportive’ of this idea and approved.

The localization team went to great lengths to ensure that the original voiceover remained the same, and in the process, they also paid tribute to Miłogost Reczek.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has been a turnaround that players had been waiting for. In our review, we describe it as one of the best gaming experiences of 2023.

Lords of the Fallen Update 1.009 for October 14 Slices Out (Update)

HexWorks has pushed out Lords of the Fallen update 1.009 and this seems to be for patch v1.1.191! While this is a small download, there’s a ton of bug fixes and other technical improvements included in it. Read on for everything new in the Lords of the Fallen patch notes for October 14.

Lords of the Fallen Update 1.009 Patch Notes | Lords of the Fallen v1.1.191 Patch Notes:

Size: 549MB (PS5)

Update: HexWorks has confirmed that v1.1.191 is the same patch on PC and consoles. We’ve also added the platform-specific changes included in the update.

The changelog listed below are from the PC version, and so far, HexWorks has not released a separate one for consoles. Read on for what’s new.

Greetings Lampbearers,

We’ve worked diligently to fix some of the issues that unfortunately have affected some of our players.

Rest assured that our commitment to enabling as many people as possible to immerse themselves in our game world is what drives our passion.

Thanks to the data provided to our “Sentry” bug database by players who clicked “send” on the crash report pop-up, we’ve been able to identify four main issues:

  • Non-Updated Drivers.Lords of the Fallen is powered by UE5, a high-end technology that requires the latest GPU drivers. We’ve observed that the majority of crashes result from outdated drivers. That’s why, starting now, when the game launches, it checks for the installed drivers and prompts an update if they are not up to date, redirecting to the respective GPU providers: Nvidia or AMD
  • Frame Generation StabilityDespite our eagerness to provide players with the latest technologies, Sentry noticed that Frame Generation is also leading to crashes under specific conditions. We have decided to temporarily deactivate Frame Generation until our collaboration with NVIDIA allows us to deliver more stable drivers. This action is intended to prevent the crashes that some players are experiencing with their brand-new 40 series GPUs.
  • Unidentified GPU crashesAn engine error that could occur with certain 30 and 40 series GPUs, causing the game to crash even with auto-set graphics, has been partially addressed.EPIC has promptly provided us with a patch that includes additional fail-safes to prevent those crashes, and it’s been integrated to resolve most of these crashes. We’ve also observed that quite a few players enable settings that their rigs cannot handle, especially in terms of VRAM. If you experience instability, low frame rates, or even crashes (especially DX12 crashes), simply click on “AUTO-SET” within the Graphics Settings, and this will most likely resolve your issues.
  • Crash after first cinematicAn issue with the engine code related to the calculation of Pipeline State Objects (PSOs) has been identified in Sentry. This issue resulted in crashes when shaders were being compiled after the first cinematic of the game.EPIC has been swift and efficient in providing a solution, which has now been integrated into the game and should resolve the majority of cases. However, if the issue still persists, we’ve provided a workaround to allow you to access the game. Please note that this workaround may result in some micro-freezes the first time you enter a new area of the game. To deactivate PSOs calculation, please follow these steps:
    a. Right click on the game in your Library
    b. Click on Properties
    c. In the General tab, enter the following modifier in the Launch Options text box: -nopsos

Please refer to our Performance Troubleshooting Steps if you are still experiencing issues.

Other Updates in the Patch

Performance

  • The lingering VFX from the Barrage of Echoes eyeball explosion could persist for an extended period, potentially impacting performance if abused.

Balancing

  • The two gap-closing attacks of the Bringers of Stillness and Scarlet Shadows have been slightly nerfed to reduce their punishing nature when attacking from their own shadow.
  • The damage output of Charred Spirits in the Lower Calrath has been slightly nerfed, reducing it from 80 to 64. This adjustment is made to compensate for the fact that these Charred Spirits are the most aggressive among the “walking corpse” type enemies.
  • All “walking corpses” have had their charged attack damage reduced from 1.18 to 0.8. This change has been made because their animations did not accurately reflect the danger of the hit. Additionally, their anticipation animations have been slightly adjusted for better readability.
  • The hitbox of the Sunless Skein working forces has been better adjusted, as it was felt that it was spawning just a few frames too early.
  • The Barrage of Echoes (eyeball umbral spell) has received an additional failsafe to ensure they always explode upon hitting any environmental element.
  • Adjusted the hit direction of some projectiles to prevent the player from hit-reacting in an undesired direction. This change is purely cosmetic.
  • Ruiner’s fire shield attack and jump knockdown attack have been slightly reduced in damage. However, his standard damage has been slightly buffed from 81-95. This adjustment aims to maintain the challenge while reducing the occurrence of one-shots in later regions of the game.

Bosses

  • The Spurned Progeny has undergone a minor adjustment to ensure that he never interrupts one of his combos, regardless of the player’s actions.
  • The arena where the trio of secret bosses is concealed at a hidden location has been adjusted to enhance their navigation within the space. Additionally, they are now capable of exiting the column in their shadow form. In essence, these changes make them more formidable adversaries.

PVP

  • To provide more options when facing a skilled “parrier,” we have disabled the ability to parry other players’ kicks.

3D Photo Mode

  • Photo Mode no longer has a small black line in the bottom right corner.

Visuals

  • After an optimization, the Pieta chest armor has regained the correct IDs for the tincts, allowing tincts to be properly applied to it.
  • Fixed a nanite mesh on the 3D Gallery background that was incorrectly set up, eliminating white dot artifacts.

Audio

  • Umbral stigmas now have a more pleasant sound for their activation and deactivation.

Steamdeck

  • Steam Deck now features a virtual keyboard.

PS5:

  • No platform specific changes.

XBOX:

  • We’ve fixed the issue with the loading of low LODs for the Xbox Series X.

If there are other changes for consoles, we’ll update the article to reflect it.

Update: Added the platform-specific changes.

Alan Wake 2 Free DLC Will Be “Significant,” Remedy Will Talk About It Soon After Launch

Back in May, Remedy announced that Alan Wake 2 would be getting both free DLC and two paid expansions, though details on either were relatively light outside of the names of the expansions. With the launch of Alan Wake 2 right around the corner, Remedy is opening up a bit more on the game’s post-launch support, revealing that players should expect Alan Wake 2 free DLC to be “significant.”

Speaking at the EGX Theatre, Sam Lake, the Creative Director of Remedy Entertainment, had this to say about Alan Wake 2 upcoming free DLC.

Question: What should fans expect from Alan Wake 2 when it lands in two weeks?

Sam Lake – “We’ve talked about cool things, with music, and with live action. Maybe I’ll just say we haven’t gone really far into explaining any of the DLC material. For sure, we have named the actual bigger paid DLCs, which are Night Springs, which might be something that rings bells, and the Lake House. But beyond that, we do have free DLC drops coming. They, too, are pretty significant, and I’m expecting us to be going more into detail pretty soon after the game is out. But all of that will be free for anyone who gets the game.”

This sounds like it will be more than just simple cosmetics, though how significant remains to be seen. Could we be getting slices of side stories while we wait for the paid expansions to drop? I guess we’ll find out shortly after the launch.

Alan Wake 2 launches on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC this October 27 as a digital-only title. To prepare yourselves for what’s to come, read our early hands-on preview of Alan Wake 2, where we give you plenty of reasons to be excited.

How to Defeat Scourged Sister Delyth in Lords of the Fallen

As a Soulslike, you will face countless formidable enemies in Lords of the Fallen. Most of these you can dispatch with a few swings of the sword and a dodge roll or two, perhaps a parry thrown in for good measure, but then you have the bosses. These tough opponents take the challenge to the next level, and they test your mettle from the get-go. One such boss is Scourged Sister Delyth. You have no choice here; you have to fight her. Here is how to beat Scourged Sister Delyth in Lords of the Fallen!

How to Beat Scourged Sister Delyth in Lords of the Fallen

After reaching the Vestige of Chabui and climbing the ladders past the location where you find the Condemned Armor Set, on your way to Pilgrim’s Perch, you will work your way down to the main hallway of the temple. On your way, you’ll stumble upon a few minor enemies. They’re quickly dispatched with a single swipe, though.

But you’ll notice a boss health bar on your screen long before Scourged Sister Delyth walks up the stairs from the pool of murky water below. She’s a tough fight, with a few different attacks and spells. Here are a few tips to beat her:

  • Scourged Sister Delyth has two phases, with the first focusing on regular melee attacks. She’ll strike two to three times per attack phase, and you can dodge these relatively easily before hitting her opening.
  • In the second phase, Delyth will start spawning magic tornadoes that hone in on your position. You can dodge these by closing the distance and hitting the dodge action at the last moment. Otherwise, you risk the tornado turning and hitting you.
  • I found that, while dodging Delyth’s strikes, it was best to dodge forward toward her instead of away on her final strike. This action puts you near enough to land a few hits before she winds up for another attack.
  • Lastly, after attempting multiple tries, I found it best to fight her on the upper platform, where the bell, statue, and pillars are located. It’s a cramped environment but easier than managing with the stairs and water, which slow down your movements.

After you learn her move set and defeat Scourged Sister Delyth in Lords of the Fallen, you’ll walk away with the following:

  • Scourged Sister Flail
  • Scourged Sister Garb
  • Vestige Seed

Which boss is giving you the most trouble in Lords of the Fallen? Let us know in the comments below!

“Don’t Scream” Is a ’90s Camcorder Horror Game That Needs a Microphone to Play, If You Scream the Game Restarts

With this year’s horror games resurgence, another game in the genre has been announced, and this one has a very unique premise. Titled “Don’t Scream,” it’s being made on Unreal Engine 5, and just by two developers (Joure & Joe). What’s different about this is it requires a microphone to play, and if you scream, the game restarts!

Check out the gameplay reveal that’s very atmospheric, and the art style is based on ’90s camcorder found footage (think Blair Witch Project).

Here’s what the game is all about:

ABOUT THIS GAME

BEFORE BUYING: This is a short horror experience designed to make players jump. Think of it as a scare simulator. Don’t expect a storyline; just one primary challenge: DON’T SCREAM. It’s simple enough for anyone, even your mom. Seriously, challenge your mom to play!

If you scream, you restart. DON’T SCREAM is an Unreal Engine 5 short horror experience inspired by ’90s camcorder found footage. Made by two indie devs. The challenge is simple: explore the mysterious Pineview Forest for 18 minutes without screaming.

Sounds easy, right? But there’s a catch. Time only progresses as you move, and you cannot predict the scares. You must calibrate your microphone in-game so that every whimper, jump, or even a minor squeak is registered as a scream, increasing the challenge. With dozens of dynamic scares, each playthrough offers a unique experience.

It’s the perfect game to scare the pants off your friends and family. Our lead playtester (also my wife) is currently in a clinic recovering.

MICROPHONE REQUIRED TO PLAY

DON’T SCREAM challenges not just your nerves but your voice control. Here’s what to expect:

1. Calibrate Your Microphone:

Set it up in-game. It’s not just tech setup; it defines your challenge. A mere squeak or quiet gasp should be flagged as a scream, causing you to restart.

2. Mind Your Voice:

You can talk during gameplay, but keep it low – slightly softer than normal. Too loud and it’s game over.

3. Play Fair:

You could bypass calibration to shout through scares, but it’d spoil the thrill. For a genuine horror experience play as designed.

DISCLAIMER: WE ACCEPT NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY UNDERWEAR THAT MAY BECOME UNUSABLE SHOULD YOU PLAY OUR GAME.

I have to admit, this is not only unique, but sounds downright brilliant! The ’90s camcorder bit adds a whole other layer of scare factor given it looks quite real.

Don’t Scream is planned to be released sometime in 2023, and you can wishlist it on Steam right here.

How to Defeat Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal in Lords of the Fallen

One of the earliest and most challenging fights in Lords of the Fallen is against Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal. It’s the first proper boss fight of the game. But this is an important one, as Pieta will inevitably join you at the hub area, Skyrest Bridge, and help upgrade your Sanguinarix healing items relatively early on in the game. First, you need to defeat Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal!

How to Beat Pieta in Lords of the Fallen

To find Pieta, She of Blessed Renewal, you must first visit the Abandoned Redcopse. Her boss arena isn’t hard to miss, as you’ll note the vast stretch of land with oversized swords poking up from the ground. At the very end, there she stands. And she’s relentless. Pieta will immediately hurl herself toward you, typically unleashing an attack pattern with two to three hits per. She will occasionally summon Radiance magic in the form of beams, swords, and support angels that deal considerable damage. You’ll want to avoid her Radiance damage-dealing moves altogether.

A little tip before we delve in further: there is a summon outside the boss arena on your second try, should you fail. There’s no shame in using a summon to take down a boss in a Soulslike!

First Phase

Pieta Boss Battle in Lords of the Fallen

During her first phase, Pieta will remain on the ground, using her sword and the occasional magic attack to hurt the player. She’s relatively slow, for the most part, but can quickly increase the tempo of the battle when she wants.

Thankfully, you can block and parry her attacks. This is an excellent time to learn the parry mechanic, as it exposes her to considerable damage. If you can successfully parry her attacks, she will become momentarily stunned. Use this to your advantage and press the attack!

Second Phase

She’ll enter her second phase once you drop her health to approximately half. She grows large wings, zooms around the battlefield, and will now summon Radiance-based copies/angels to help her in combat. Here, she’ll launch a massive, arena-wide attack that deals damage on its first hit, then drops light-based swords into the ground in a field from one end to the other. You can easily dodge these by sticking to the side.

Pieta returns to her standard form and soars away when all is said and done. But don’t worry, you’ll see her again!

Did you manage to beat Pieta? If you need a break from her boss fight, take a moment to read our Lords of the Fallen review!

Where to Find the Condemned Armor in Lords of the Fallen

Lords of the Fallen features a unique gothic aesthetic that suits the Soulslike genre exceptionally well. This latest role-playing game provides ample opportunity for players to customize their crusader with unique armor, weapons, and abilities, but many remain hidden. For instance, the Condemned Armor Set in Lords of the Fallen is intimidating but offers exceptional protection against physical, holy, fire, and wither damage. It’s just a matter of tracking down this elusive armor set for yourself!

How to Get the Condemned Armor in Lords of the Fallen

Starting from the Vestige of Chabui, just inside the temple door past the hub area, you’ll climb up the two ladders on the left-hand side of the room. At the very top, as you enter the prison-like room, you will notice multiple sets of boxes blocking the path leading forward. The game wants you to travel to the right, over the beam splitting the two floors. Instead, smash those boxes. There are approximately three sets in total before you hit a metal barricade. Here, use your lantern to open the way, but note that you don’t have to fully travel into Umbral, you can simply use the lantern and walk forward.

Inside of the small cell, you’ll find a dead body with the glowing gold icon denoting an item to pick up. This is the Condemned Armor Set!

What Does the Condemned Armor Set Include?

The Condemned Armor Set features:

  • Condemned Manacles
  • Condemned Garb
  • Condemned Head Cage
  • Condemned Fetters

It’s a four-piece set that, while not as aesthetically pleasing as your current armor, most likely, does offer exceptional damage mitigation and resistance. It’s worth donning!

Do you have a favorite armor set in Lords of the Fallen? Let us know in the comments!

Battlefield 2042 Player Count on Steam Reaches Biggest Numbers Since Launch

It may not be a record, but Battlefield 2042 just saw its best player count on Steam since launch, all thanks to the new season and the ongoing free access.

Battlefield 2042 Season 6 launched last week, and while it didn’t see a lot of activity in the Steam charts, the free access trailer, which started yesterday, brought in an influx of new players to the game. Moreover, the title managed to chart well above its previous free access (roughly 20K more), making this one of the most players the game has ever seen since its launch two years ago. Also of note, this is just for PC, and there’s the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S player bases as well, which means this number is way, way higher.

Sure, it’s free access, but there’s no denying that the boost in players is impressive, given the game’s age and how many still view it. With Season 6 now live, there couldn’t be a more perfect time to jump in.

Hopefully, the new season has enough for players to stick around, especially since there’s supposedly something new dropping around Halloween. If not, at least those dedicated players stuck around are now enjoying some extra life out of the game.

Have you checked out Season 6 yet? If so, let us know what you think of it!

In other Battlefield 2042 news, Amazon has seemingly confirmed that more content is incoming, as Prime Drops have been listed for BF2042 for the next 12 months.

  • Updated level loading code to include more null ref checks
  • Fixed a softlock that could occur when an enemy would play its attack animation while in hurt state
  • Added a check to prevent duplication of Malkomud and Rockie’s sprites when they both get KO’d at the same time
  • Fixed a softlock that could occur when reentering the Golden Pelican after being teleported out
  • Infinite Abyss: fixed a softlock in Dweller of Dread’s encounter that demanded a very specific setup and sequence of party composition, KO states, and boss attacks
  • Added a check to prevent softlock when an encounter is triggered while the player is zoning or teleporting
  • Flooded Graveyard: fixed a crash that could occur when using the graplou specifically on the climb wall in the chapel from the second floor
  • Fixed an issue where the paincone projectile could get pooled before reaching its target when running the game at very high fps
  • Updated combat management to prevent targets that have left the encounter from checking against damage zones (i.e. fixing a softlock when defeating Romaya with conflagrate while she’s on the bone pillar, who will now instead be properly immune to damage in this situation)

That’s all for today’s Sea of Stars update, and should there be any additional changes, we’ll be sure to update the notes. Sea of Stars is now available on all major platforms, and if you haven’t already, be sure to read our Sea of Stars review to find out why it’s one of this year’s best RPGs.

Activision’s CEO Bobby Kotick Leaving Company at End of 2023

With Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard King finally closed, many had wondered what this meant for Bobby Kotick, the current CEO of Activision. Well, Microsoft’s head of Gaming, Phil Spencer, has requested Kotick to stick around until the end of 2023, assisting in the integration period.

In a letter issued by Kotick, the CEO thanks everyone during his 33-year run of the company, while also outlining what his role will be during his remaining time.

“Team, Today marks a milestone in our company’s celebrated history.

Combining with Microsoft will bring new resources and new opportunities to our extraordinary teams worldwide. It will also enable us to deliver more fun, more joy, and more connection to more players than ever before.

This moment is possible because of your efforts over four decades to innovate, inspire, and achieve.

When Brian Kelly and I began this journey in 1991, we intended to build a company that would have great impact and lasting value. Your tireless work and unwavering commitment to excellence enabled us to do just that. In the 1980s, we pioneered independent, third-party game development with PitfallRiver Raid, and Kaboom. In the 1990s, we united the world with online multiplayer games like MechWarriorWarcraft, and StarCraft. In the 2000s, we introduced Call of Duty, which became one of the most successful entertainment franchises in history. We also introduced Guitar Hero and Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, which entered popular culture in ways few videogames ever have. In the 2010s, we debuted Candy Crush Saga, which to date has been downloaded more than five billion times and contributed to our total worldwide players being fifty percent female.

Your dedication is what makes it possible for us to continually push envelopes, break records, and delight players. Amid the uncertainty of the last 21 months, you’ve remained focused, as always, on serving our players and supporting each other.

I have long said that I am fully committed to helping with the transition. Phil has asked me to stay on as CEO of ABK, reporting to him, and we have agreed that I will do that through the end of 2023. We both look forward to working together on a smooth integration for our teams and players.

Brian and I couldn’t be more excited for the next chapter for ABK. We now join one of the most successful global companies, poised for unprecedented opportunities to connect the world through our games.

As a part of Microsoft, we will be even better, together. – Bobby”

We expect to see more major developments in the coming months, as Microsoft works on integrating divisions of Activision Blizzard King into their own.

What’s a Xûr?

Xûr, Agent of the Nine, is a strange vendor who randomly appears in a Public Sector on one of the Worlds. Xûr sells Exotic equipment and only takes Legendary Shards in exchange for them.

TL;DR: He’s the Santa Claus of Destiny and every weekend is Christmas. Sometimes he brings you what you want, sometimes he brings you coal. Mostly it’s coal.

When does Xûr visit?

Xûr visits every Friday at 17:00 UTC and departs at Weekly Reset (Tuesday 17:00 UTC). If you would like to see all the live conversions of Time Zones, please follow this link here.

(Thanks as always, /r/DestinyTheGame!)

Hunt Showdown Update 1.92 for October 13 Fires Out for Patch 1.14 Tide of Corruption

Crytek has pushed out Hunt Showdown update 1.92 on both consoles and PC, and this is for Update 1.14 “Tide of Corruption.” Players can expect new the Custom Ammo Box to be inserted to the game alongside the Weapon Inspect feature and more!

Read on for the complete Hunt Showdown update 1.14 patch notes for October 13 below.

Hunt Showdown Update 1.92 Patch Notes | Hunt Showdown Update 1.14 Patch Notes:

CDN media

Custom Ammo Box

The Custom Ammo Box is a new interactive Ammo Box that can be found in the bayou during Missions. They allow Hunters to swap their active ammo type in their selected weapon with one from a box. These new boxes can be found at Supply Points, Watch Towers, and Hunting Towers in both Bounty Hunt and Soul Survivor. Unlimited versions can also be found in the Shooting Range.

Available Ammo Types

Each ammo type listed below can be found in Custom Ammo Boxes:

Bullets

  • FMJ
  • Dumdum
  • Explosive
  • High Velocity
  • Incendiary
  • Poison
  • Spitzer

Boxes containing bullets can be used while holding any valid weapon across all available ammo sizes, for example the Incendiary box can be used with weapons that can equip Compact Incendiary, Medium Incendiary, or Long Incendiary.

Shells

  • Dragonbreath
  • Flechette
  • Pennyshot
  • Slugs

Bolts/Arrows

  • Explosive Bolt
  • Frag Arrow
  • Poison Arrow
  • Poison Compact Bolt

Interaction

Using a Custom Ammo Box requires a hold interaction, similar to looting a Saddlebag or dead Hunter. This accounts for the time it takes a Hunter to unload their weapon. The interaction time lasts between 1-8s based on how much ammo is currently loaded in the weapon.

When you swap ammo types, all previous excess ammunition you carried in that weapon will be lost and the weapon will be fully emptied. When the interaction is complete, you will replenish the same amount of ammunition of the new type as you would from an Ammo Box consumable.

Interacting with a Custom Ammo Box when already having the same custom ammo type equipped will allow you to take the ammo from the box instead of swap. For example, interacting with an Incendiary Swap Box while Incendiary ammo is already equipped on your current weapon will replenish all Incendiary ammo pools rather than swap out the ammo type.

Weapon Inspect

Weapon Inspect is a new action that can be triggered during Missions that allows a Hunter to view their equipped weapon in greater detail.

This feature will come in waves, the first of which includes:

  • All Pistols (Single and Dual Wield)
  • All Melee weapons (including Tools)
  • World-spawned weapons (Sledgehammer, Lantern, Bear Trap, etc.)
  • Special weapons (Crossbow, Hunting Bow, Bomb Lance, etc.)

Additional weapons will receive their own Weapon Inspect animations in future updates.

Triggering the action can be done by pressing the ‘Weapon Inspect’ input. The default bindings for supported platforms are:

  • PC – ‘I’ (can be customized like other PC inputs)
  • XBOX – Y (when the Weapon Wheel is open)
  • PS – ‘Triangle’ (when the Weapon Wheel is open)

Once triggered, any inspect animation can be instantly interrupted by most other gameplay actions (Aiming, Attacking, Quickswap etc.)

***Developer’s Note:***Weapon Inspect has been a highly requested feature by many in the Community, and we are very happy to deliver this first batch. Due to the large workload of hand crafting each animation, we chose to release them in batches.

Razer ChromaWe are thrilled to announce the arrival of Razer Chroma effects in Hunt! If you have Razer products, you can now use a number of pre-made effects. These will be expanded upon in a future update, as well.

Razer Chroma

Effects have been added for the following actions:

  • Default Chroma Effect while in a match of Hunt.
  • While in Dark Sight.
  • When interacting with a Clue or Rift.
  • When your Hunter bleeds.
  • When your Hunter is burning.
  • When your Hunter is shooting.
  • When your Hunter is melee attacking.
  • When your Hunter is walking through water.

Flash Bomb ReworkThe Flash Bomb is one of the strongest, most effective Consumables in any Hunter’s arsenal. With these changes, we hope to bring it more in line with other Consumables:

  • The Flash Bomb now requires a short preparation before it can be thrown.
    • This is supported by a new priming animation and sound.
  • Bulwark now decreases the duration of the flash.
  • Hunters who are flashed and have Bulwark will not give a hit marker to the thrower.
  • The full flash screen color has been slightly adjusted to be less straining for the eyes.
  • The Flash Bomb has been removed from Dark Tribute and Challenge rewards.
  • The Flash Bomb can no longer be found or looted in Missions.
  • Recruited Hunters will not come with Flash Bombs anymore.

***Developer’s Note:***With the new priming mechanic on the Flash Bomb, players will have a better chance to react to the Consumable, similar to the process of navigating thrown explosives. Additionally, the change to Bulwark allows the player to be better prepared against Flash Bombs, and the change to the color of the full flash screen will offer players a gentler experience when getting fully flashed.

CDN media

Gunplay

  • For Riposte attachments, the vertical melee angle for light melee attacks was slightly adjusted to be better aligned with the animation.
  • Added the Drilling and LeMat Mark II UpperMat sounds to the Chaos Bomb and Chaos Bolt.
  • Adjusted the Shredder ammo for the Nitro:
    • No wall penetration beyond 41m (excluding wire meshed).
    • Can only penetrate thin walls.
    • Reduced damage after a second wall penetration.
    • Reduced one-hit kill distance to the upper torso on a Hunter up to 58m.
  • Resupply changes to the Quad Derringer and Flare Pistol:
    • The Quad Derringer now resupplies with Ammo Crates and the Ammo Box Consumable.
      • 8 Bullets from the Ammo Crate.
      • Full refill from the Ammo Box Consumable.
    • The Flare Pistol now shares an ammo pool with Starshell ammo and refills with Special Ammo Crates.
  • Increased the regeneration speed on the Regeneration Shot and Regeneration Shot (Weak) to be the same as the normal health regeneration. Increased their prices by 20 Hunt Dollars each.
    • The Regeneration Shot now costs 105 Hunt Dollars (was previously 85).
    • The Regeneration Shot (Weak) now costs 40 Hunt Dollars (was previously 20).
  • Adjusted the stamina consumption on several melee weapons:
    • All Brawler variants: light melee has been reduced from 10 to 7, and heavy melee from 25 to 15.
    • All Talon variants: heavy melee has been reduced from 50 to 45.
    • All Trauma variants: heavy melee has been reduced from 50 to 45.
    • All Bayonet variants: heavy melee has been reduced from 40 to 30.
    • All Riposte variants: heavy melee has been increased from 25 to 30 to be on par with Bayonet variants.
    • All Claw variants: light melee has been reduced from 25 to 22, and heavy melee from 34 to 28.
    • Combat Axe: heavy melee has been reduced from 34 to 33. (This does not affect any Axes found in the world.)
  • Increased the spare ammo on the Bornheim and its variants from 10 to 15.
  • Increased the flying speed for the Choke Beetle and Stalker Beetle.
  • Slightly increased the recoil on the Nagant M1895 Officer Carbine to make it harder to control.

***Developer’s Note:***After the recent changes to the Nagant M1895 Officer Carbine, we saw positive responses to the recoil changes; however, it was also too easy to control. We have made another small adjustment to make it slightly more difficult to keep the weapon on target after each shot.

Gameplay

Traits

ConduitConduit will now trigger for all teammates who currently have the Trait equipped when anyone in the team fully interacts with a Clue. This change reduces competition between teammates and makes Conduit a viable pick for the whole team. However, to account for this increase in usability, some additional adjustments have also been made:

  • Increase to 5 Upgrade Points from 4.
  • Stamina reduced to 3 minutes from 5.
  • No longer triggered by picking up the Bounty Token (only Clues).

***Developer’s note:***Since its last change, we have seen Conduit become an overall very useful pick for both Teams and Solos, and these changes help to bring a better balance between usefulness and cost. Additionally, we have removed the trigger on picking up a Bounty Token, as we would like to see Conduit focus more on being the ‘Clue Trait’ and Magpie as the ‘Bounty Token Trait.’

Decoy Supply

  • Decoys, Blank Fire Decoys, and Decoy Fuses can now all be resupplied at Special Ammo Crates in addition to normal Ammo Crates.

**Shadow (Burn Trait)**Familiar to those who have taken part in recent Live Events, Shadow is now returning permanently as a new Burn Trait. As a Burn Trait, Shadow cannot be purchased in the Upgrades screen, and instead can only be found during a Mission—either through a rare world spawn or dropped from a killed Meathead.

  • Shadow – Monsters can’t see you, but they can still hear you. Burns when your Hunter is downed.

Meta

Hunter Slots

  • Increased the max amount of Hunter slots to 75 from 50.

Restoration changes

With Update 1.13, a clarity pass was applied to the effects that fully restore your Hunter, by adding a Restoration Ticker which denoted the effect. Now with Update 1.14, this is further enhanced by adding additional signposting with audio-visual effects on the source (e.g. the Boss Target corpse on Banish) and all receivers (e.g. all Hunters on the team that initiated the Banish). Players can now locate enemy Hunters who have just received a Restoration with some careful attention; on the other hand, it can reveal your location if you are the recipient.

Weapon Prices

  • Mosin-Nagant M1891 Bayonet decreased to 507 Hunt Dollars from 540.
  • Springfield M1892 Krag Bayonet decreased to 391 Hunt Dollars from 426.
  • Winfield M1873 Musket Bayonet decreased to 87 Hunt Dollars from 137.
  • Vetterli 71 Karabiner Bayonet decreased to 115 Hunt Dollars from 155.
  • Specter 1882 Bayonet decreased to 211 Hunt Dollars from 223.
  • Springfield 1866 Compact Striker decreased to 47 Hunt Dollars from 56.

Audio

  • A consistency pass has been made on bullet crack audio for High Velocity ammo in order to better reflect its speed. Medium High Velocity Ammo on silent weapons now plays the generic bullet crack used on other silent weapons. All other Medium High Velocity Ammo now plays a specific High-Velocity bullet crack.
  • Added new audio assets for grabbing bullets while reloading handguns.
  • Priming a Flash Bomb is now louder—around the same volume as priming a Dynamite Stick.

AI

  • Rotjaw now notices Hunters up to 20m around her and will enter the water upon noticing them.
  • Reduced damage from blunt melee attacks by 10%.

RoboCop: Rogue City Hands-On Preview – Shooting for Justice

RoboCop: Rogue City may be the game that fans of 90’s action flicks have been waiting for their whole life. The relentless violence and the often cringy dialogue are all there, as you take control of this armored walking tank and uphold the law without blinking. As far as first-person shooters go, developer Teyon may have perfectly nailed the spirit of the first movies, delivering what promises to be a spectacle of destructible proportions.

To Serve the Public Trust

This was never going to be a standard shooter, considering the hefty protagonist that you get to control. A slow mover that packs quite the firepower, this isn’t a game about jumping or crouching to dodge enemy fire; there aren’t such actions in here to remain faithful to the movies. RoboCop walks with the confidence of an armored combat vehicle, each metallic step in the direction of the enemies syncing with the bullets coming from his Auto 9 machine pistol, with devastating power and incredible satisfying crunch sounds when you score a headshot.

Combat is incredibly satisfying, with the default weapon or the assortment of rifles and machine guns that you pick up, allowing you to carry two weapons at a time. The environment is built for these exciting set pieces, with pillars, glass windows, arcade machines, and so many more destructible assets that you will be enthralled by how everything suddenly starts flying in your face. Add some of the throwable objects such as chairs, monitors, explosive cannisters, and – why not – a motorcycle, and you may want to watch all of these parts play out in slow motion.

RoboCop: Rogue City Hands-On Preview

Hostage situations are present as well, just like in the movies, with only a few seconds for you to breach into the area and take out the criminals before they execute the civilians. Whenever a scene like this is bound to happen, you can already expect to bring on some shooting accuracy and, eventually, feel a little adrenaline spike.

But RoboCop is far more than that, having a host of cybernetic abilities that let him take on the bad guys in different ways. The most regular is the one that helps spotting enemies at a distance or within clouds of smoke and debris, and mixed with focus, you can activate slow motion and create some spectacular shooting scenes. With eight skills in total, you can expand on your capacities by combining your favorites, including a couple that seem to be straight out of Fallout or other multiple-choice RPGs. For example, you can choose a dialogue option that avoids conflict altogether, highlight the preferred option, or even find valuable items and data on your map.

This is just the first evidence that RoboCop: Rogue City isn’t all brawn and no brain, but there is more. The shiny cop alternates frantic shootouts and lack of subtlety with interesting detective work, and even gives a hand to his police fellows by helping out with the long line of complaints at the headquarters. The balance this brings to the adventure is welcome, at least so far, giving us the necessary respite to get ready for another round of shooting. When you’re not taking out the trash – figuratively speaking – you may be examining the environment for clues, picking up crime evidence, finding a way to unlock a secret passage, handing out parking tickets or stopping graffiti artists, and even finding a young kid to tell him that it’s time to call it a day. Many of these options contribute to your experience points, which in turn unlocks and upgrades new skills.

A Doomed City

Old Detroit is the place where this original story takes place, set between the events of RoboCop 2 and 3, according to the developers, perhaps with the goal of forgetting the awful final chapter to this trilogy. The map and mission structure allow for some freedom – albeit never reaching sandbox heights – with secondary quests and other objectives that pop up as you find them, some of which narratively enjoyable and rich, very much worth pursuing.

The whole recreation of the city is very moody, exceptionally grim and desperate with just the right amount of retro, crime rampant everywhere and a constant scenario of chaos and disorder. It’s a terrific stage for fans of corrupted places, from the dark streets to the very detailed arcade place, with its bright game screens and neon lights glowing. The areas look rich, with plenty of things to look at, creating a nice sense of immersion and a fun throwback to a bygone decade.

While we didn’t get to see good old mech ED-209 in this version, it will be there, the original RoboCop actor Peter Weller lent his voice and likeness to the game, and his colleague Anne Lewis, portrayed by Nancy Allen in the movies, also resembles the actress.

First impressions of RoboCop: Rogue City were positive and reassuring. Apart from the familiar flaws of the genre that could still be ironed out until release, such as bodies in physically impossible positions or NPCs with blank stares and strange head movements, the game was very enjoyable and balanced so far. Now it’s up for the final launch to show us if RoboCop is still up to the task or scrapyard material.

MP1st was given access to a preview build of RoboCop: Rogue City for our hands-on session. RoboCop: Rogue City launches on November 2, 2023 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X.

Lords of the Fallen Best Steam Deck Settings for Performance

If you’re keen on playing Lords of the Fallen on Steam Deck, you’re not alone. Surprisingly, most Soulslike games, including Elden Ring, run exceptionally well on Steam Deck. It’s the battery life that proves problematic. But with a game like Lords of the Fallen, which is a bit more bleak and drab graphically, a few tweaks and you’ll be exploring Umbral in no time. Here are the best Lords of the Fallen Steam Deck settings with performance in mind!

Best Lords of the Fallen Steam Deck Settings:

If you want to play Lords of the Fallen on Steam Deck without worrying about frying the internal components or wasting the system’s battery life in twenty minutes, then here you go:

  • Resolution: 1024×640
  • VSync: On
  • FPS: 30
  • Graphics Preset: Low
  • Motion Blur: Off
  • Film Grain: Off
  • Chromatic Aberration: Off
  • Refresh Rate: 40
  • Half-Rate Shading: Off

Valve’s handheld isn’t the most powerful system on the market, even for a handheld, these days. The ROG Ally is a bit more powerful. As such, don’t expect the smoothest or prettiest gameplay when it comes to Lords of the Fallen on a handheld.
