Fortnite Showdown Act 2 Update 40.20 Unleashed via Patch 1.000.218

Epic Games has unleashed Fortnite Showdown Act 2 via update 40.20, and this also transitions Save the World to be a free, separate mode from Battle Royale. Console gamers will see this download as Fortnite update 1.000.218.

Alongside that, there are new additions in the form of AI-powered conversations, Laufey’s joining Fortnite Festival starting today, and more.

This might be one of the most content-packed updates we’ve seen from the game in a long while, so head on to see what’s new.

Fortnite Showdown Act 2 Now Live on April 16 via Update 40.20/1.000.218

Bring NPCs to Life with AI-Powered Conversations

The new conversations system (formerly Persona device) is now available as an Experimental feature. Fortnite developers can use conversations to create AI-powered characters with personalities and voices that can talk, react, and respond to player actions—and even drive gameplay.

As with any Experimental feature, you can try it out, provide feedback, and see what we’re planning, but publishing projects using conversations is not yet available.

Creating Voiced Characters

Instead of authoring dialogue trees for characters in your islands, conversations transforms an NPC into an AI-powered character capable of unscripted dialogue and interactions with players, like a quest giver or narrator. You define who the character is with simple prompts—how they think, what they know, and how they behave—and then select a voice that matches their persona.

These AI-powered characters can:

  • Remember what’s already happened in the game session, and adapt their behavior in real time
  • Respond in context to player input and communicate through voice
  • Trigger events in game

Building Reactive Systems

Conversations enables gameplay systems that respond dynamically to player inputs and world-state changes through the use of the Scene Graph component and Verse API, so you can:

  • Adjust prompts at runtime to change what a character knows (for example, keeping track of a player’s stats or information about the island’s world state)
  • Define structured outputs (such as a mission status) and use those values to trigger gameplay outcomes

Here’s how these capabilities can come together to deliver an immersive experience for players: If a player wants to gain access to a tournament, they might need to level up to a certain milestone and convince a conversations-powered NPC that they are worthy. If they succeed, the system can automatically open the city gates and let the player into the castle.

You can also use the Verse API to have characters that simply react to gameplay, such as a commentator announcing the winner of the match, or a system that tweaks the difficulty of the game based on how the player is performing.

Testing in Experimental

This feature is an Experimental release, and developers will only be able to publish islands using conversations to players after the Beta release. Voice models are not final, and large language model (LLM) response times are slower than we expect of the final release. We will continue to improve voice quality, reduce latency, and adjust default NPC behavior during the Experimental phase.

Getting Started with Conversations

We’ve updated the Fortnite Developer Rules to include a new rule:

1.22. Conversations: When using conversations, your personas, prompts, and character designs must adhere to the Fortnite Developer Rules. In addition, you must also follow the 1.22 sub rules:

  • 1.22.1. You must not create a persona designed to provide medical or mental health guidance.
  • 1.22.2. You must not create a persona that role-plays as, simulates, or impersonates a date, romantic partner, or other intimate companion.
  • 1.22.3. You must not attempt to circumvent or undermine our safety systems, including intentionally designing your persona to bypass our content restrictions.

Developers who break these rules will receive enforcement actions, up to and including an account ban.

More info on conversations and Personas is available on Epic’s site.

Tekken 8 Emergency Update 3.000.002 Fixes Unintended Behavior for Heat-Related Moves

Following the release of an emergency patch for Tekken 8 three weeks ago, Bandai Namco has pushed another emergency update out today, April 15, as version 3.00.02.

Console gamers will see this download as Tekken 8 update 3.000.002, and this fixes issues with Heath Dash combo starters and other Heat-related moves.

Moreover, another patch is scheduled to be released in May, and will also contain character combos and more.

Tekken 8 Community Concerns for Heat Continue to Be Worked on via Latest Patch 3.000.002

Tekken 8 Emergency Update 3.000.001

Impact of the Update

The following changes will take effect in each mode and feature after the update:

* DOWNLOADED REPLAYS / MY REPLAY & TIPS
– Replay data created before the update will no longer be playable.

* ONLINE REPLAY
– All replay data created before the update will be deleted.

* SUPER GHOST BATTLE / GHOST MATCH / Ghost vs Ghost
– The behavior and performance adjustments applied to each character after the update will be reflected in Ghost data.
– Existing Ghost data will be retained.

The details of the update are as follows:

PLAYABLE CHARACTERS

Character Move Behavior Fixes and Balance Adjustments
– In Ver.3.00.02, we addressed unintended behaviors and made adjustments to Heat Dash combo starters and select Heat-related moves. For Heat-related moves, we focused on moves where the reward was disproportionately high relative to the difficulty of confirming hits and the associated risks.
– The next update is scheduled for release in late May. We will continue our efforts to improve overall battle balance and create a better competitive experience.

Known Issues

-The bug fixes and move property adjustments implemented in Ver.3.00.02 have affected the Command List and explanatory texts in Special Style, Arcade Quest, and Practice modes, resulting in discrepancies between the displayed information and actual move properties.
– In prioritizing these adjustments, we were unable to address this issue in time, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. This issue is scheduled to be fixed in the next update, planned for release in late May.

– Ver.3.01: Scheduled for late spring 2026

We are currently reviewing priorities while considering fixes for bugs, adjustments to behaviors that result in excessive rewards, and performance tuning centered on the Heat system. Fixes that can be addressed in the short term will be implemented sequentially, while changes with significant impact will be introduced step by step through each update after sufficient verification.

Once another patch is released, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

Silent Hill 2 Dev Bloober Team Doesn’t Want Fewer Than Two Games in Production, Relying on a Single Title “Creates Too Much Risk”

While most game studios focus on developing one game at a time, that method doesn’t work for Silent Hill 2 and Cronos: The New Dawn developer, Bloober Team.

The studio has multiple teams working on various projects, and it doesn’t seem like it’ll change anytime soon.

In a new statement, the development outfit has confirmed they are choosing to develop multiple projects simultaneously in order to be more fiscally sound.

Bloober Team Has Seven Horror Titles in Active Development

In a new interview, Bloober Team revealed they are working on seven active horror projects currently, with the studio taking the helm on two games, while working on five more titles in co-development.

Sharing more insight about this multi-game development initiative, Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno shares why they chose to have multiple projects brewing, stating, “We don’t want fewer than two productions, because relying on a single title creates too much risk in today’s market. But we also don’t want more, because quality, focus, and creative oversight would inevitably suffer. For us, two core productions are the right balance between ambition and responsibility.”

However, even with multiple projects in development, Babieno notes that they are taking a measured approach to greenlighting new projects.”We’re not interested in growth for the sake of numbers. We believe players don’t need a constant flood of releases. They want experiences that feel meaningful, distinctive, and worth remembering years later,” the CEO adds.

As for what Bloober Team is developing, the two first-party development teams are working on what Babieno describes as “what defines Bloober Team: single-player horror experiences with strong gameplay foundations, premium execution, and themes that resonate on a deeper emotional or social level.”

We already know Bloober is working on a remake of the original Silent Hill with Konami, which isn’t surprising given the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake. In addition to that, the studio also announced Layers of Fear 3 this February, and a trademark for Onyx: The Dark Grip surfaced three months ago as well.

Last year, Bloober released Cronos: The New Dawn, an entirely new horror IP built from scratch. While the title fared well critically, Bloober says there are no plans for DLC or a sequel, though that’s not entirely ruled out.

Bloober has a co-development label called Broken Mirror Games, which currently has five active games in development, and this includes the recently announced Layers of Fear 3.

Given how studios are closing up shop left and right, Babieno’s vision does make a lot of sense. Sure, it’s risky, but it’s better not to put all your eggs in one basket, which applies not just to gaming but to life. That said, not every studio is capable of doing this, but for those that can, this might be the way to go to be financially viable in the future.

Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 Content Preview, Hero Balance Changes Outlined

The latest content drop for Marvel Rivals is almost here with the launch of Season 7.5! Set to drop on April 17, this major title update introduces Black Cat to the roster, as well as quality-of-life additions and of course, hero balance changes.

The title for Season 7.5 is “The Hunt Is On,” and this brings a new Duelist to the roster, a new Team-Up ability, and more.

NetEase has also shared plans on what’s coming later this month after the April 17 update, which we’ve outlined below.

Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 Content Preview

Black Cat (Duelist) – Black Cat is an agile Duelist and an elusive master thief. With her exquisite martial arts and incredible mobility, she can infiltrate any location and weave through the battlefield with ease. In combat, she uses wall-climbing and double-jumps to navigate between friend and foe, waiting for the perfect moment to steal her enemies’ Fortune with her grappling hook.

She then uses this stolen Fortune to buff her own combat power, unleashing enhanced claw strikes to deal heavy damage. Whether the enemy team is holding a tight defensive line or scattered across the map, Black Cat can use her Phantom Pursuit to close the gap, tear through their defenses with razor-sharp claws, and then safely disengage.

When she activates her Ultimate Ability, she issues a calling card to all enemies before striking like a phantom, instantly dashing to any target to deliver lethal damage. What’s more, she can trade her stolen Fortune with the Gilded Saint, pulling rare treasures from the New York Thieves Guild’s vault, like the Ring of Zona, the Helm of Hades, and even the Mento-Fish once possessed by Namor. These artifacts not only boost her own abilities but also create unexpected tactical advantages for the whole team.

New Team-Up Ability: Black Cat, White Fox, and Captain America form the new Lucky Loan Team-Up. Black Cat is the Team-Up Anchor, providing White Fox and Cap with some of her luck to boost their combat capabilities. White Fox receives a special boost to her life energy and upon activation, can channel this vitality into her Kumiho powers, launching multiple spectral fox tails in all directions. These tails automatically seek out nearby targets: granting healing and a movement speed boost to allies, while dealing damage and applying a slow effect to enemies. Meanwhile, Captain America’s Vibranium shield also gets a lucky upgrade. When raised, the shield’s protective radius is expanded, and its deflection becomes pinpoint accurate, bouncing enemy projectiles exactly where his crosshair is aiming.

Marvel Rivals Season 7.5 Hero Balance Changes

ADJUSTMENTS

Chain-CC Protection

In Season 7.5, we introduced the Chain-CC (Crowd Control) Protection mechanic to ensure combat remains fluid and fair. Here are the specific rules:

– The Trigger: If a Hero suffers 5.5 seconds of total CC duration or is hit by 6 CC effects within a 7-second window, Chain-CC Protection activates. This instantly purges all active CC effects and grants the Hero 30% Tenacity for 3 seconds.
– Scaling Tenacity: Tenacity proportionally reduces the duration of incoming CC. While active, every new CC effect applied to the Hero increases their Tenacity by 10% and extends the buff’s duration by 0.5 seconds.
– Total Immunity: If Tenacity reaches 100%, the Hero becomes completely CC Immune until the buff expires. During this window, incoming CC will not grant further Tenacity or extend the Immunity duration.
– Cinematic Exceptions: Certain animation-driven CC effects (such as Emma Frost’s Carbon Crush and Monster Hulk’s World Breaker) bypass this system. Tenacity cannot reduce their durations, nor will they be interrupted if Chain-CC Protection triggers. Any standard CC effects applied during these cinematic moves will be cleared, and Tenacity applied, only after the cinematic ability concludes.
– Cooldown: The Chain-CC Protection system has a 5-second cooldown, which begins the moment the final Tenacity effect expires.

VANGUARD

marvel rvials

Emma Frost

We’re slightly lowering the energy cost of the White Queen’s Ultimate to boost her suppression power on the battlefield. Time to shine, darling!
– Reduce the energy cost of Psionic Seduction (Ultimate Ability) from 3400 to 3100.

Deadpool (Vanguard)

We’re slightly dialing back Vanguard-pool’s burst damage and the survivability gains from his gun-form Ultimate. Gotta keep things fair, even for the Merc with a Mouth!
– Reduce The Ban Hammer (Gun Form Ultimate Ability) Bonus Health gained per hammer hit from 80 to 60 (standard) and from 80 to 70 (upgraded).
– Reduce The Ban Hammer (Gun Form Ultimate Ability) damage dealt per hammer hit from 45 to 35.
– Reduce bonus Attack Speed provided by Deadpool in Your Area – Vanguard to Dual Desert Eagles – Vanguard from 60% to 40%.

Peni Parker

We’re slightly reducing Peni’s base survivability but enhancing the deployment range and protection of her Cyber-Webs, while also improving the hit experience of her Primary Attack. This aims to strengthen Peni in positional warfare! Now she can cover more ground with her Cyber-Webs, and flexibly using their support effects will help the team handle specific enemy dives with more ease!
– Reduce base health from 700 to 650.
– Increase the maximum number of Cyber-Webs that can exist simultaneously on the field from 3 to 4.
– Increase Bonus Health cap provided to Peni by Cyber-Webs from 150 to 200.
– Increase Cyber-Web Cluster Projectile Speed from 120m/s to 150m/s.

DUELIST

Marvel Rivals Update 1.000.077

Elsa Bloodstone

We’re reining in Elsa’s mobility and her threat level against Vanguards. The monster hunter needs to pace herself out there in the timestream!
– Increase Helix Advance cooldown from 8s to 10s. (Cooldown at max passive stacks from 2s to 4s).
– Reduce Monster-Piercer percentage damage per pellet from 1.2% to 0.8%.
Reduce total percentage damage when all 5 pellets hit from 6% to 4%.
Zhiyong Note: When all pellets hit, damage against a 275 HP hero drops from 81.5 (13*5+275*6%) to 76; against a 700 HP hero, it drops from 107 (13*5+700*6%) to 93.

Human Torch

We’re tweaking the Human Torch’s mobility mechanics to boost his burst mobility and enhance his gameplay pacing. At the same time, we want his movements to be a bit more predictable for his opponents. Flame on, but with a plan, Rivals!
– Plasma Body Mechanic Adjusted: Upon casting, he immediately dashes a short distance (10m) in the direction of movement and enters the Plasma Body state for 4s. This ability now has 2 charges, with a 10s recharge time per charge. There is a 4s cooldown between consecutive casts.

Winter Soldier

Bucky had a bit too much CC, which caused some serious frustration for enemies, especially when facing dive Vanguards, Duelists, or anchor Vanguards. He felt more like a “bodyguard” than a lethal operative. We’re reducing his CC capabilities and slightly buffing his frontal damage output to enrich his combat experience and make him feel like the true soldier he is!
– Remove Trooper’s Fist Grounded effect on enemies.
Reduce Cooldown from 12s to 10s.
– Increase Bionic Hook cooldown from 12s to 15s.
– Increase Roterstern Projectile Damage from 75 to 80
Decrease Spell Field Damage from 55 to 45.
– Reduce Tainted Voltage single charge energize time from 6s to 5s.
– Increase Kraken Impact Culling Threshold from 15% to 20%.
Reduce base damage from 80 to 70.

STRATEGIST

marvel rivals gambit

Adam Warlock

We’re giving Adam Warlock a little cosmic boost to his healing capabilities!
– Increase Cosmic Cluster cooldown reduction provided to Avatar Life Stream per hit on an enemy from 0.05s to 0.08s.

Cloak & Dagger

We’re slightly reducing the duration of Cloak & Dagger’s Ultimate.
– Reduce Eternal Bond (Ultimate Ability) duration from 13s to 11s.

Jeff the Land Shark

We’re slightly reducing the pressure our favorite land shark puts on the enemy backline. Good boy, Jeff, but let’s give them a breather!
– Joyful Splash damage falloff now starts at 15m (was 20m) and damage drops to 60% of base at 30m (was 65% at 40m).
– Reduce It’s Jeff! (Ultimate Ability) recovery time when failing to swallow any targets from 1s to 0.4s.

Luna Snow

A small encore for Luna Snow to enhance her base combat capabilities!
– Increase Light & Dark Ice damage and healing from 22 to 24.

Ultron

We’re expanding the battlefield coverage of Ultron’s Ultimate. There are no strings on him!
– We’ve adjusted the logic of Ultron’s Ultimate. The four Ultron Drones surrounding Ultron will no longer shoot directly at the crosshair target; instead, they will bombard the area around the target. The bombardment area matches Ultron’s, but with slightly lower values. With this adjustment, the coverage area of Rage of Ultron is increased from a 3m radius to a 6m radius.
– After activating Rage of Ultron (Ultimate Ability):
Increase Ultron’s Encephalo-Rays Damage from 8 to 18.
Increase the Drones’ Encephalo-Rays Damage from 8 to 12.
New Spell Field Damage Falloff: Starts at 1.5m after Encephalo-Rays explode, with a max falloff to 50% at 3m.
Increase healing effect on allies from 25 to 40.
(Damage and healing effects on targets within the original 3m radius remain roughly the same).

TEAM-UP ABILITIES

ADJUSTED OR REMOVED

Guardian of the Deep (Venom – Jeff the Land Shark/Hela)

Even the Goddess of Death and a ravenous Symbiote have to admit that Jeff’s healing hugs were getting a little too powerful. We’re dialing back the extra bulk for this aquatic alliance!”
– Reduce excess healing converted to Bonus Health from 100 to 50.
– Reduce healing efficiency from 70/s to 60/s

NEW

Lucky Loan (Black Cat – White Fox/Captain America)

What do you get when you cross a master thief, a mystical Kumiho, and the First Avenger? The ultimate heist crew!
– As the Team-Up Anchor, Black Cat gains a 5% boost in damage output.
– White Fox unlocks the new Nine-Tailed Aura ability through her Team-Up with Black Cat.
– Captain America unlocks the new Vibranium Bastion ability through his Team-Up with Black Cat.

Kingdom Come Deliverance Update 1.002 Enables Trophies to Be Transferred

Surprise! Surprise! Warhorse has pushed out an unexpected title update for Kingdom Come Deliverance today, April 14. You’re reading that right, this is for the first game and not the sequel.

Console gamers will see this download as Kingdom Come Deliverance update 1.002 (complete version 1.002.000), and this lets players transfer PS4 trophies, alongside bringing the next-gen update to the GOG and Stove.

The complete patch notes available below detail everything new applied by the developers.

Kingdom Come Deliverance Updated on April 14, 2026, for Various Fixes

PC

General

  • Fixed issue where the title would lock up when pressing the ‘delete’ key in any menu except the keybinds menu
  • Fixed issue when creating a new game from the pause menu where items or their state could carry over to the new game
  • Fixed issue where the HD Sounds DLC files would not be used
  • Fixed issue where the HD Voiceover DLC patch paks would not load
  • Updated HD Sounds DLC banks with the latest sound data

Microsoft Store

  • Fixed issue where DLCs were unavailable without internet connection ○ Players can now use save games that include DLC content while being offline
  • Fixed issue where user and store handles would leak on termination
  • Added Japanese and Korean text localization
  • Added Czech and Japanese VO localization
  • Added HD Sounds and Voiceover DLCs
  • Updated with the latest patch 1.9.7

Gog + Stove (Standard + Royal)

  • Updated with the latest patch 1.9.7 ○ Does not include Deep Silver Account integration

Consoles

General

  • Fixed multiple race condition crashes
  • Fixed multiple memory related crashes
  • Fixed multiple deadlocks
  • Fixed multiple audio related crashes
  • Many other crashes have been fixed, these are just the highlights of the most frequent crashes
  • Added localized string for the “EULA” settings option

PS5

  • Added functionality to transfer trophies from PS4 to PS5 ○ Developer’s note: Due to the trophy design on the original PS4 title, it wasn’t possible to transfer trophies 1:1. Because of this, we could only utilize the existing save data and unlock trophies based on unlock conditions. This will catch the majority of trophies, but not all of them. For instance, previously completed quests will now unlock their corresponding trophy upon loading a save with it completed, but trophies such as ‘Alcoholic’ will not unlock if the player is no longer an alcoholic in that save.
    • Example trophies where the unlock condition could no longer be valid upon transferring a save: Merciful, Insomniac, Alcoholic, Virgin, Hardcode Henry, Tis but a scratch, Kingdom did not come and Trial and Error.
  • Fixed issue where the title would run out of system object handles, resulting in a crash
  • Fixed issue where ground foliage was distorted in some locations
  • App assets updated with new key art

Xbox

  • Fixed multiple instances of device hangs during suspend
  • Fixed issue where the title would crash if the player cancelled the cloud sync

Given the game’s age, we’re not expecting a lot of updates to be released for it moving forward.

Apex Legends Update on April 14 Fixes Character Bugs via Patch 3.08/1.000.122

Respawn Entertainment has deployed a patch for Apex Legends today, April 14, and this fixes issues connected to legends, technical issues and more.

Console gamers will see this as Apex Legends update 3.08/1.000.122, and this is a small download across all platforms.

For the complete patch notes, read on.

Apex Legends New Update Fixes Legend Issues

  • Valkyrie’s jetpack handles are no longer missing in specific scenarios
  • Fuse’s Knuckle Cluster holder is now properly displayed

Report: God of War Faye Spin-Off Claimed to Feature Tyr and Multiple Mythologies

It’s been four years since Santa Monica Studios has released God of War Ragnarok, and since then, the studio has kept silent on what they’re working on.

While nothing has been announced so far, rumors have surfaced that Santa Monica is working on a new entry in the franchise, though one that’s a spinoff that stars Faye and not everyone’s angry dad, Kratos.

It seems the rumors surrounding the God of War spinoff game is gaining steam, as more info about it has surfaced, and we here at MP1st have also spotted new references to the project as well.

God of War Faye Game – What We Know So Far

A report way back in 2023 from FandomWire mentioned how the spinoff game will feature two main characters, and it won’t include Kratos, though it mentions how the Spartan hero will still make an appearance somehow.

Since that article went up, the author has since corrected some of the info, and in a comment from a now-deleted Reddit post clarified how the prequel will star Faye (Kratos’ deceased wife) and not Freya as they were led to believe initially, as well as Tyr (the Norse God of War).

The comment also mentions how the player will have a companion that’s some kind of “gelatinous cube.” A talking sword will also be present in the game, which is said to be Merlin (yes, that’s odd, we agree).

In addition to that, the prequel will also explore several mythologies such as Mayan and more, which isn’t surprising to those who played God of War 2018.

At the very least, we here at MP1st can confirm that East-Asian mythologies will be part of it, as we’ve heard that elements from Chinese and Japanese mythologies will be part of a new entry in the series. Having said that, game development is a fickle thing, and as such, things are always subject to change, though we expect those to be present in the final version of the title.

Further adding fuel to the fire of this spinoff is that Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson said in a podcast that he has heard the next mainline God of War game (which we presume to be this game) will be announced this month, stating, “so i also, heard separately like last month that the god of war was due to be announced very soon, and in april as well… …the next mainline one.”

Same as always, treat rumors with a grain of salt. That said, if Sony announces a new State of Play or PlayStation presentation this month, don’t be surprised if a new God of War game starring Faye is part of the surprise reveals.

    • Free Track: Recon, WSTR Shotgun, Profile Emblem
  • Fixed an issue where the rank up rewards tutorial could be out of sequence.
  • Disciples of Arachne earnable shell styles are now available in the Codex.
  • Updated the Perimeter (Beginner) new player map to now be a solos-only map that remains available to players until Seasonal Level 12.
    • The Perimeter (Beginner) map presents a reduced risk of encountering other Runners.
  • Added five new contracts for the Perimeter (Beginner) map.
    • New and existing players under Seasonal Level 12 will also have access to new optional CyberAcme contracts tailored for the beginner experience to help with their first steps in Marathon.
    • To help players understand the mechanics around the Perimeter Beginner contracts, these new contracts can only be progressed while in Perimeter Beginner or Perimeter Solo Runs.
    • These contracts are no longer accessible after reaching Seasonal Level 12 and will be removed even if decrypted or active.
  • When the final exfil is active and there are less than 10 seconds remaining, the timer for other exfils will be reduced to match the remaining session timer. Tie goes to the Runner, after all.
    • Developer Note: Previously, the 10-second countdown for non-final exfils was being overwritten by the final exfil timer. Because the difference was only a few seconds, players would see the exfil animation and believe they successfully exfiltrated only to discover they did not in the Run Report. We think this change will result in last-second exfils feeling more “fair”.

Progression

  • Increased runner level and faction reputation earning for solo players.
  • Increased standard contract faction reputation rewards for all players.

Armory

  • The C.A.R.R.I. Armory allows you to spend CyberAcme Commendations for Salvage Crates that grant a random stack of Salvage items or Reputation Packs that provide reputation for their associated faction. Salvage Crate and Sponsored Kit stock refreshes daily while other C.A.R.R.I. offers do not refresh and can only be purchased once.

Codex

  • Pacesetter Codex challenges focus on collaborative objectives and award the new Pacesetter title. These challenges are a permanent addition and can be completed in future seasons.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Up here!” Vandal challenge would not complete at certain kill distances.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Safe!” Vandal challenge would not complete under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Life Taker” Thief challenge description did not specify the correct requirements.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Trifecta” Recon challenge wouldn’t not properly handle both downing and eliminating a runner.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Where there’s smoke” Destroyer challenge was not completing under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue with the Compiler lore image not being displayed.
  • Fixed an issue with the Cryo Archive collectible lore images not being displayed.
  • Fixed an issue where the “Requiem for a Cyborg” codex challenge name was being displayed instead of “Requiem for a Compiler”.

Contracts

  • Players are no longer prevented from claiming completed contracts in the lobby if they’ve selected Rook.
  • Fixed multiple bugs where contract progress was being prevented or not properly sharing progress across crew members.

Combat

  • Slightly improved audio clarity of enemy footsteps at close and mid range.
  • Players are now more resistant to fall damage while downed.
  • Fixed an issue where the player reticle could swing wildly after a finisher if the player continued to provide look input during the finisher animation.

Weapons

Weapon Rewards

  • Added 11 new Deluxe (Blue rarity) Unique weapons
    • These can drop from Showcase encounters in Perimeter and Dire Marsh. Can you collect them all?
    • Developer Note: These Deluxe Uniques follow a similar paradigm as the Prestige Uniques found in Cryo Archive Locked Rooms but are at a power appropriate for a Deluxe weapon. This means each Deluxe Unique comes with a specially designed sweetener that can only be found on that Unique version of the weapon. Happy hunting!
    • For example: The DRRVISH Prestige Submachine Gun found in Cryo Archive has a custom-made mod for the BRRT SMG which increases stability, handling, and accuracy when firing from the hip. It additionally has the unique trait Hypertemporal Shot that fires all 5 rounds of the burst at once in a tight spread.

Weapon Ammo

  • Fixed an issue where Volt Cell weapons were not generating heat on impact with enemies.

Railguns

  • All Railguns will now no longer auto-fire when the maximum charge time has been met. Also, charged Railguns can now be held indefinitely.
    • Developer Note: We believe making this behavior change to all Railguns will make them a more competitive option as a mid-to-long range archetype. We expect players to be able to use them more effectively when peeking against longer range options now that you don’t have to stand out in the open to get a fully charged shot off. As always, we’ll monitor the feedback and see if Railguns will need additional tuning to be successful in their range profile.
  • V00 Zeus RG
    • Increased max aim assist cone size by ~20%. Also, the aim assist cone now grows during charge-up instead of shrinking during charge-up.
    • Increased base magazine size from 2 shots to 5 shots.
    • Reduced max magazine size from 20 shots to 15 shots.
    • Reduced base charge time from 1.1 seconds to 1 second.
    • V00 Zeus RG Prestige Mod: Overclocked Generator
      • Magazine size is now doubled by this Prestige mod so the double-shot will not reduce the total number of trigger pulls per magazine. This fixes split shots on odd-numbered magazine sizes.
  • Ares RG
    • Reduced base charge time from 2 seconds to 1.25 seconds.
    • Increased magazine size at all stat tiers:
      • Base magazine size increased from 4 shots to 6 shots.
      • Max magazine size increased from 10 shots to 12 shots.
    • Slightly increased aim assist cone scale during overcharging by ~10%.

SMGs

  • Copperhead RF
    • Increased base magazine size from 21 shots to 28 shots.
      • Max magazine size remains unchanged.
    • Slightly increased base accuracy and effective range from 15m to 16.2m.
    • Increased minimum damage at maximum damage falloff range from 30% to 50%.
    • Slightly decreased initial error cone size while in ADS by ~8.5%.
  • BRRT SMG
    • Increased minimum damage at maximum falloff range from 30% to 50%.
  • Bully SMG
    • Decreased aim assist and magnetism range falloff:
      • Base aim assist falloff start decreased from 13m to 12m.
      • Base aim assist falloff end decreased from 24.2m to 22.5m.
      • Base magnetism falloff start decreased from 30m to 27.8m.
      • Base magnetism falloff end decreased from 37.1m to 34.5m.
      • Max aim assist falloff start decreased from 40m to 37.2m.
      • Max aim assist falloff end decreased from 80m to 74.4m.
      • Max magnetism falloff start decreased from 93m to 86.4m.
      • Max magnetism falloff end decreased from 101m to 93.9m.
    • Increased error cone size by 7.5%.

Snipers

  • Longshot
    • Decreased accuracy when firing rapidly to better reward more methodically paced shots.
    • Decreased rate of fire from 90rpm to 60rpm.
    • Fixed a bug that allowed the Kingmaker Mag Prestige mod to trigger when shooting teammates.
  • Outland
    • Decreased rate of fire from 43rpm to 39rpm.

Rifles

  • M77 Assault Rifle
    • Fixed an issue where the Interval Mag Prestige mod would potentially increase the rate of fire of other weapons.
  • V75 SCAR
    • Changed the timing of when the magazine is considered loaded to better match other Volt weapons. This should give players a little earlier of a window to sprint or fire, canceling out of the reload animation.

Pistols

  • V11 Punch
    • Fixed an issue where the rpm was displaying an incorrect value.

Precision Rifles

  • Stryder M1T
    • Fixed an issue where the Vital Intel Prestige mod was activating its audio effect despite the mod not being equipped.
    • Fixed an issue where the Vital Intel Prestige mod’s audio effect did not benefit from the increased distance of the Prestige Unique Fist of Phobos variant.

Biotoxic Disinjector

  • Fixed an issue where the reload animation did not have controller rumble.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the grenade projectiles from setting off toxic plant hazard.
  • Increased ammo per Beam from 6 to 8 per tick.
  • Increased ammo per Grenade from 33 to 37.
  • Reduced Grenade rate of fire from 0.76 to 0.52.
  • Reduced Grenade travel speed from 42 meters per second to 34.
  • Reduced the minimum Grenade damage from 5 to 3.
  • Reduced damage from Grenade when stuck to an enemy from 90 to 65.
  • Reduced max damage radius of the Grenade by 50%
  • Increased the rate of damage falloff from the Grenade detonation.
  • Increased arming duration of the Grenade from 0.9 seconds to 1.3.
  • Enabled self-damage on Grenades.
    • Developer’s Note: Stay safe out there.

Weapon Mods

  • Chips
    • Added three new families of Weapon Chips across all rarities:
      • Common Enemy: Damaging enemy combatants causes them to take increased damage from allied or enemy Runners for a short duration.
      • Pocket Change: Reloading quickly after a kill or down drops ammo of this weapon’s type.
      • Exit Buddy: Downing or killing an enemy grants you and nearby allies increased movement speed with equipped weapons for a short duration.
  • Circuit Tracers
    • Increased cooldown from 0.5 seconds to 1 second.
    • Reduced ammo refund by 5% at the Standard tier and by up to 40% at the Superior tier.
  • Opportunist
    • Fixed an issue that allowed the effect to activate from friendly fire.
  • Alternating Current
    • Fixed an issue that allowed the effect to activate from friendly fire.
  • Mini-Jammer
    • Fixed an issue where the Mini-Jammer effect was not granting the full benefits of Signal Jammer.
  • Optics
    • Thermals
      • Removed all Deluxe rarity thermal optics across all weapon archetypes from the loot tables and they can no longer drop.
      • Superior SP Scope III sniper optics now decreases aim assist and range stats in addition to the ADS speed penalties.
      • Decreased Superior SP Scope III sniper optics thermal highlight range from 100m to 80m.
    • Variable Zoom Optics
      • Fixed an issue where these optics were reporting an incorrect aim assist cone.

Equipment

marathon down march 31

  • Added Depleted Self-Revive kits that spawn during solo play only.
    • These cannot be extracted from a solo run and will be auto-sold, same as other Depleted items you may find in a run.
  • Added the Mercy Kit which allows you to revive downed enemy Runners. Eliminated enemy Runners cannot be revived with a Mercy Kit.
    • All Rooks now spawn with a Mercy Kit by default.
    • Developer Note: We wanted the new Mercy Kit to provide ways for players to bring back enemy players without spending a self-revive. Sometimes the de-escalation happens after the fight is over, we get it. Now you can make up for that quick trigger finger.
  • Claymores
    • Improved enemy detection when placed near ledges or ground clutter.
    • Fixed an issue where players in full cover near a doorway would still take damage from a claymore detonation.
  • Self-Revive
    • Increased rarity from Deluxe to Superior.

Implants

  • Added five new implant perks that can drop across various activities:
    • Group Therapy: Using a medical item grants you and nearby allies a stacking bonus to your Self-Repair Speed for a short time.
    • Herd Immunity: Defeating hostiles grants you and nearby allies a stacking bonus to Hardware and Firewall stats for a short time.
    • Fight Club: Striking hostiles with a melee or knife attack grants you and nearby allies a stacking bonus to Melee Damage for a short time.
    • Divebomb: When you damage an enemy with explosives, you and nearby allies gain a large temporary boost to Agility.
    • Evasive Maneuvers: When your shields break, you and nearby allies gain increased sprint speed and Heat Capacity for a short time.
  • Savior Complex now provides a smaller Revive Speed benefit while playing solo. Previously, it provided no benefit outside a Crew.
  • Increased the Heat Capacity stat bonus of Distance Runner from 5/10/25/50 to 10/20/30/50 across Standard/Enhanced/Deluxe/Superior rarity tiers.
  • Fixed an issue where Heat Capacity could incorrectly display as 0 in the Loadout when specific implant combinations were equipped. This was a visual bug only and actual stats were not affected.

Cores

  • Assassin’s Patience core now also requires you to be crouched to receive the timer pause benefit. This reduces accidental heat buildup from unintended activations.
  • Reduced resistance to incoming damage from enemy players provided to your Pickpocket Drone by Thief’s Premium Package core.
  • Fixed an issue where Vandal’s Low Profile core could reduce the duration of a Signal Jammer activated with the Enzyme Suppressants implant perk equipped and could grant an unintendedly long Signal Jammer duration when sliding.

Shells

marathon down april 7

Recon

Echo Pulse

  • Reduced the visibility of enemy Echo Pulse waves as they travel away from the activating Recon.
  • Echo Pulse pings now distinguish between enemy Runner and enemy UESC targets.
  • Signal Jammer no longer completely blocks Echo Pulse pings. Signal Jammed players now display the UESC ping navpoint instead of the Runner navpoint when hit by Echo Pulse.

Tracker Drone

  • Improved Tracker Drone tracking strength and turn rate.
  • Reduced Tracker Drone travel speed while it has no active target to help prevent it from overshooting tight corners that a target may be behind.
  • Tracker Drone now periodically reevaluates its tracking target. If it can no longer reach its original target, it will attempt to find a new one.

Destroyer

Thruster

  • Increased Thruster heat cost by approximately 9% to better account for its strong mobility and combat power.

Riot Barricade

  • Fixed an issue where Riot Barricade could be rapidly activated and deactivated without costing ability energy, allowing players to peek corners.

Thief

Pickpocket Drone

  • Each Pickpocket Drone can now accept a maximum of one Claymore attachment.
  • Increased Pickpocket Drone thruster audio volume to make active Pickpocket Drones easier to track.
  • Reduced Pickpocket Drone descent acceleration to more closely match ascent, making its movement feel more predictable.
  • Reduced the distance of the Pickpocket Drone rarity highlight on targets from 50m to 35m.
  • Reduced Pickpocket Drone base health from 70 to 60.

Triage

Med-Drone

  • Fixed an issue where Med-Drones could track to and attempt to attach to allied Pickpocket Drones, adorable as that might have been.
  • Fixed an issue where Med-Drones would sometimes not use the correct cosmetic color scheme based on the Triage’s equipped cosmetics.

Vandal

Amplify

  • Reduced Amplify base cooldown from 180 seconds to 150 seconds.

Rook

Signal Mask

  • Fixed an issue where swapping shield implants could cause Signal Mask to flicker.

Zones

marathon update 1.008

Dire Marsh

  • Players standing in the location of the UESC Security Cache that spawns when Lockdown is started will now be pushed aside instead of through the floor.
  • Fixed issues preventing Rooks from being able to locate, stabilize, and then extract with Anomalous Samples.

Outpost

  • Added more potential spawn locations for the Conveyance Request for the elevator into the Drone Wing.
  • Restored the audio for the exhibit in Orientation.
  • Fixed an issue where players could get out of bounds in Dormitories.
  • Fixed an issue where the toxin debuff applied by the Unsanctioned Hostilities 4/5 contract couldn’t be cleared.

Marathon’s main competitor when it comes to the extraction shooter genre, ARC Raiders, just received a new game update as well, and it adds new store items and gameplay fixes.

STALKER 2 Sealed Truth Update Adds New Free Content via Patch 1.010

GSC Game World has a special treat for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl players today, as the studio has rolled out the “Sealed Truth” free content drop across all platforms.

Starting today, April 14, players can download STALKER 2 update 1.010 (complete version 1.010.000), to experience a new — and free — questline that players can explore in the legendary X-18 Lab.

Read on for the official details, as well as some of the fixes included in today’s patch.

STALKER 2 Free Content Drop Brings Sealed Truth Quest for Free on April 14

What’s new

  • Explore a new questline that starts when you talk to Diode.
  • Fixed an issue causing overpopulation of strong mutant types in long campaigns.
  • Fixed an issue where the mission ‘Dark as a Dungeon’ would immediately cancel if the player had already reached the point of no return.
  • Added new loading screens.

For those on PC, remember that each game update has the chance to make the game less stable, and as such, GSC Game World has mentioned, “The Zone is ever-changing, and a new update can shift Her structure. If you’ve chosen to walk the path with modifications, know this: they may not withstand the latest shifts. If you have performance or stability issues following the release of Sealed Truth, we recommend you to disable your mods. If you continue to experience issues, please visit https://support.stalker2.com/hc for additional troubleshooting steps and assistance.”

Given the content drop, do not be surprised if a hotfix or two is released to fix any issues that surface from the Sealed Truth patch.

Another game in the same vein as STALKER 2 is set to be revealed this week, and we’re referring to the new Metro game, Metro 2039, which is due for a global reveal on April 16.

Let’s hope more content is planned, and that we’ll get a 2026 roadmap at some point soon.

Marathon Down as Servers Go Offline on April 14 for Update 1.0.6

It’s another Tuesday, and that means Bungie’s extraction shooter Marathon is getting another dose of maintenance. So for those having issues connecting to the game, don’t fret, Bungie has pulled the Marathon servers down on April 14, and this is to apply a significant game update.

Players will be unable to connect to the game’s servers for a few hours, and that’s until patch version 1.0.6 is released. Unlike previous updates, this actually brings the game up to one version, which signifies this is more than just your standard bugfix.

For the complete Marathon downtime details, read on.

Marathon Servers Down on April 14 to Apply Patch 1.0.6

Update: Marathon’s mid-season update is live, with the complete breakdown and patch notes available.

Tuesday, April 14 2026 — Update 1.0.6

5:00 AM PDT UTC-7
  • Marathon will undergo maintenance.
  • Sign-on will be unavailable.
  • Players actively in runs will be able to complete them.
5:30AM PDT UTC-7
  • Marathon will begin being brought offline for expected maintenance.
  • Players will start being removed from activities.
7:00 AM PDT UTC-7
  • The latest Marathon update is expected to become available across all platforms and regions.

8:00 AM PDT

UTC-7

  • Players are expected to be able to log back into Marathon.
  • Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing.
9:00 AM PDT UTC-7
  • Marathon maintenance is expected to conclude.
  • Console players who encounter issues updating should restart their console and try downloading the update.
  • Players who observe issues should report to the Marathon Help Forum.

While we’re not expecting Marathon’s downtime to be extended, it’s not out of the question if it does, since this has happened to Bungie’s Destiny 2 servers from time to time.

If anything changes regarding the downtime, or if it gets extended, we’ll let our readers know.

Once the patch notes are out, expect a link to them within the article.

ARC Raiders New Update 1.000.036 Released on April 14 to Bring Version 1.24.0

Embark has pushed out the latest patch for ARC Raiders on all platforms, and this brings the game to version 1.24.0.

Today’s game update brings new cosmetic sets for players to buy, alongside a handful of fixes affecting the Vanguard Set, which was rolled out in the last game update from last week, and more.

For console players, you’ll see ARC Raiders update 1.000.036 available for download now bringing these fixes.

ARC Raiders Minor Update Brings Crash, Vanguard Set Fixes

New Sets Available in the Shop

  • Nascosto Set
  • Speckled Set

Fixes

  • Addressed several issues that could cause crashes.
  • Fixed an issue where the Vanguard Set caused model stretching for other players.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause players and ARC to sound quieter than intended when there’s no line of sight on Stella Montis.
  • Fixed an issue causing blurry visuals when AMD FSR Frame Generation was enabled.
  • Fixed an edge case where ziplines could be placed on carriables located on an edge of a ledge and the player was below the ledge.
  • Fixed an issue where hold-to-use items (such as bandages) could activate automatically if a quick slot swap was interrupted by pressing the fire key.
  • Players who contributed to the Weather Monitor Station Project but couldn’t complete it in time, please check your inbox in-game in the next few days. Also, a reminder that the High-Gain Antenna Project will expire before the Riven Tides update.

As for next week, while Embark has a planned store rotation, don’t expect a game update to be rolled out, as the devs are preparing for the Riven Tides major update due for release at the end of April. This patch will bring a new map, new map condition and more all for free as outlined in the Q1 roadmap.

In related news, Disney and Epic Games are reportedly collaborating on an extraction shooter to challenge ARC Raiders’ dominance.
