Naraka Bladepoint Update 1.010 for August 23 Released for Nier Crossover Patch 2

NetEase has released Naraka Bladepoint update 1.010 this August 23 on all platforms, and this is for the second patch of the Nier crossover content drop. Read on for what’s new in the Naraka Bladepoint new update patch notes.

Naraka Bladepoint Update 1.010 Patch Notes | Naraka Bladepoint August 23 Patch Notes:

Hero Adjustments

I. Tianhai

Adjusted Tianhai’s jump-and-smash response when activating [Titan’s Call] and all its talents. The trigger is changed from “button press” to “button release,” allowing Tianhai to deactivate the Ultimate without using the jump-and-smash.

II. Other Optimizations and Adjustments

  • Optimized the display of skill icons such as [Flash: Repeat], [Demonic Strike], and others when they have no uses remaining.
  • Optimized the collision for skills such as [Healing Ray], [Tai Chi Teleport], [Demonic Aid: Teleport], and more.
  • Reworked collision logic for teleport skills such as [Flash], [Flying Edge], and more, reducing issues of being unable to teleport to the intended location due to special circumstances and complex scenes.
  • Slightly expanded the interactive range of the Soul Vessel generated by Tessa’s Ultimate.

Weapon Adjustments

I. Greatsword and Polesword

  • Adjusted the release method of Congeneric Charged Moves. After a combo, you now need to tap Horizontal or Vertical Strike again to trigger the next Move.
  • Optimized the animations for the movements of Congeneric Charged Shots.

Souljade Adjustments

I. Dual Halberds Souljade

Adjusted the release method of [Dragonlike Might]. It now requires tapping Horizontal or Vertical Strike again when on the ground to trigger the next Airborne Move.

In-game Adjustments

I. New Morale Challenge in Capture the Spirit Well

Changed the second round of Morale Challenge to Capture the Flag.

Rules: When the Morale Challenge starts, a flag will spawn in the middle of the battlefield. Players have to capture the flag, go to any of their Spirit Well areas, and stay there for 10 seconds to successfully deliver the flag and increase their team’s Morale. The team with higher Morale will win the rewards for that round.

II. New Custom Settings in Capture the Spirit Well:

  • Total points required to win;
  • Rebirth countdown time;
  • Points gained per kill;
  • Morale Boost toggle;
  • Bounty toggle;
  • Block Morus’ Blessing toggle;
  • Spirit Well toggle, allowing the disabling of any Spirit Well;
  • Money Tree toggle, allowing the disabling of any Money Tree.

III. Feature Optimizations

Optimized Rebirth
When you interact with Soul Altars as a soul, you will now respawn where your soul is instead of a random location.
Added Remains’ Mark
When you release your soul, your Remains location will be marked automatically and will be seen by your teammates. The mark works the same way as destination marks, and can be aimed at or canceled.
You can now drag to adjust weapon positions in your Weapon Bag.
After dragging, the Weapon Bag’s sorting rule changes to free sorting. Tapping the Sort by Quality button restores it to sorting by quality.

IV. BOT Mode Adjustments

Optimized the pace of battle in BOT Mode, slightly reducing the chance of multiple AI opponents appearing simultaneously.

V. Capture the Spirit Well Adjustments

  • Increased the price of the [Dreadful Wail] Souljade at the Rift Dealer in Capture the Spirit Well to 25,000 Dark Tide Coins.
  • Postponed the first Morus’ Blessing.

Out-game Adjustments

I. Custom Room Adjustments

Added Musical Practice Mode—Unchained Melody

  • A new mode titled “Unchained Melody” has been added to the Custom Room gameplay. Based on the solo Bloodbath mode, it features instruments placed in the scene (with obvious visual effects prompting their locations), which you can head to and play music.

New Option Added

  • In all game modes, added new option of disengagement.
  • In the settings of The Bloodbath mode, added new option of Grappling Hooks Cost, which is turned on by default.

II. New Feature: Social Tags

You can now set personal social tags in your friend list, so your friends can know you better.
III. Buying and Selling Cosmetics on Steam is now available

[Star-Collections] are available to purchase in the Steam Community Market. However, the initial set of items is only usable in-game on the Chinese servers. In the in-game Star-Colletion page, you can add them in Steam Inventory or retrieve them.

  1. You have to add the in-game items into the Steam Inventory to trade them.
  2. Players below Lv.10 cannot add items into the Steam Inventory.

For more details about this please see our FAQ post here: https://www.narakathegame.com/news/update/20230823/33459_1106117.html

IV. Free Training Modifications

  • AI opponents in combo practice will initiate Disengage when their Disengage points are full.
  • Resist Disengagement practice is removed.
//Dev notes: This change makes AI opponents attempt to both Dodge and Disengage, better simulating real situations and streamlining practice types.

V. Congeneric Skill Preview added on Weapons Page

Added preview icons for Congeneric Skills in the weapon advantage section of the Weapons Page. Tap these icons to view the description and related videos of Congeneric Moves.

VI. Weekly Quest Adjustments

Adjusted weekly quests related to dealing damage and defeating enemies using specific Heroes, so that new players with only free Heroes can also complete these quests.

VII. Baize’s Blessing

  • Added the end time of the current round of Baize’s Blessing.
  • On Baize’s Blessing page, added the preview of available rewards in the Baize Shop.

Watch Over 4 Minutes of Little Nightmares 3 Gameplay Right Here

While Little Nightmares 3 was just unveiled just yesterday during gamescom Opening Night Live, Bandai Namco has revealed quite a lot of Little Nightmares 3 gameplay.

Obviously, if you don’t want anything spoiled at all, don’t watch it, as the game’s puzzles, ambience and enemy interactions are what makes the game special.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gfzz7sUAK2M

Here’s more about the game straight from Bandai Namco:

LITTLE NIGHTMARES III follows the journey of Low and Alone, two friends looking for a way to escape The Nowhere – a whimsical & nightmarish world. As the two make their way through the Spiral, a cluster of disturbing and dangerous places, such as the Necropolis, they encounter signature elements that have made LITTLE NIGHTMARES so unique, from clever puzzles and dangerous threats to memorable creatures such as Monster Baby.

The sequel adds new variety to gameplay, where each character carries their own iconic item – a bow and arrow for Low and a wrench for Alone – that they will use to help them in their journey. Teamwork also brings a new element to LITTLE NIGHTMARES III. For the first time in the series, players can face their childhood fears with a friend, as the game will be playable in two-player online co-op. The game will be fully playable in single player as well, where players can choose Low or Alone while AI controls the second character.

Little Nightmares 3 is set for release sometime in 2024 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC.

Warhammer Vermintide 2 Unleashes Necromancer Career October 19

If there’s one thing that isn’t lacking in Warhammer Vermintide 2 is dead bodies. That’s why the new career for Sienna, her fourth, makes perfect sense in the context of Fatshark’s dark fantasy first-person action game. The Necromancer career was announced during gamescom 2023 and will release on Steam, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on October 19.

The new cinematic trailer below sets the mood for the upcoming career, as twin sisters Sienna and Sofia start a skirmish where the former ends up inheriting powers allowing her to raise the dead. There are no details on how this class plays or what kind of skills she has, but an in-depth look should be revealed the closer we get to the launch date.

Joakim Setterberg, Lead Game Designer on Vermintide 2, had this to say about the reveal of the Necromancer class:

We really wanted to surprise our players with something unexpected yet plausible for Sienna, with a new play style based on Necromancy in the Warhammer Fantasy universe.

Warhammer Vermintide 2 released in 2018 and still holds a very respectable player base, one that has seen many content throughout the years, such as five additional adventure map campaigns, two game mode expansions, and four new careers, with more to come in the future.

Nintendo Switch Adds Denuvo Security With New Tech to Prevent PC Emulators

Denuvo has partnered with Nintendo to provide the Denuvo security solution on the Nintendo Developer Portal, as an authorized Nintendo Switch middleware.

Denuvo is the first security partner to be added to the portal, where developers are now available to access Switch Emulator Protection to protect Switch games from piracy.

Denuvo says:

Even if a game is protected against piracy on its PC version, the version released on Nintendo Switch can be emulated from day one and played on PC, therefore bypassing the strong protections offered on the PC version. This can happen with any of the numerous games available on Nintendo Switch.

By blocking unauthorized emulations on PC, studios are able to increase their revenue during the game launch window, which is the most important period for monetization. The Nintendo Switch Emulator Protection will ensure that anyone wishing to play the game has to buy a legitimate copy.

As with all other Denuvo solutions, the technology integrates seamlessly into the build toolchain with no impact on the gaming experience. It then allows for the insertion of checks into the code, which blocks gameplay on emulators.

Nintendo has been trying to prevent Switch emulation on PC for a while, and with this Denuvo partnership, it looks like the company is progressing in its efforts to stop its game from being pirated or played on other platforms through an emulator.

Modern Warfare 3 “Open Combat Missions” Explained

Just yesterday, Sledgehammer Games gave us our first look at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s campaign. In it, the studio introduced a new feature for the franchise, which they’re calling “Open Combat Missions.”

Just what is this new feature? According to Activision’s press release, “Modern Warfare 3’s new Open Combat Missions innovation puts choice in players’ hands. These Campaign missions empower players with diverse strategies to achieve their objectives and forge their own paths towards success.”

Check out a video of it where David Swenson, the Campaign Creative Director at Sledgehammer Games, and his fellow developer Robert Pitts, Associate Director of Level Design, explain it:

Open Combat Missions still have fixed objectives but how you accomplish them is up to you.

Although these missions begin with a set loadout, Swenson explains, you can find a variety of other equipment including additional weapons, Supply Boxes, and other opportunities to change or confirm your approach to what you think is “the most advantageous way to completing the objectives.”

“We knew we wanted a bit more opportunity for the player to craft their own experience,” said Robert Pitts, Associate Director of Level Design at Sledgehammer Games.

Pitts explains that Open Combat Missions are intentionally dispersed throughout the Campaign to create a seamless, intertwined experience between these and the traditional cinematic missions. These missions allow for free roam within enlarged mission boundaries, but in exchange, there are minimal checkpoints, which actually offers you additional opportunities to return to your mission infiltration to rethink your strategy.

You can read more about this new feature right here.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to fire out this November 10 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and PC. You can read up on the open beta schedule on all platforms right here.

Armored Core 6 Reviews Round Up

With Armored Core 6 set to launch later this week, and the game being one of the hottest releases, we thought our readers must be thinking what the critics are saying about the title. Therefore, if you want to read up on all the critic reviews before the game’s launch, you’ve come to the right place! Here’s the Armored Core 6 reviews round up.

Armored Core 6 Reviews Round Up:

Metacritic, Opencritic (Mighty)

GameSpot – 8/10

Armored Core VI represents a new beginning for the long-running series. It still remains true to From Software’s original vision, but the whole experience has been refined to welcome an audience that cut its teeth on the studio’s most recent work. Its story is a letdown and there may be some early growing pains due to its lopsided approach, but these shortcomings quickly scurry to the back of your mind once you start weaving your fully customized mech between incoming attacks while unleashing a salvo of rocket fire, sword swipes, and plasma rounds.

IGN – 8/10

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon’s stellar customization options feed into its excellent mecha combat, and the result is challenging combat puzzles that kept my attention all the way through its 15-hour campaign and beyond. It’s let down by a dull story, but lands direct hits where it counts.

Eurogamer – 5/5

FromSoftware delivers a superlative action game that builds on its Soulslike pedigree while staying lean and laser-focused.
GamesBeat – 4.5/5

Most people who are willing to approach Armored Core VI on its own terms will have a good time. It’s a gorgeous game (I’m a big fan of the snowy, industrial aesthetic) with room for plenty of customization, and few things will feel better in any game than piloting around Rubicon’s landscapes and cities.

No, it’s no Dark Souls with mechs, but Armored Core VI carves out its own identity.

PC Gamer – 87/100

The coolest mechs in gaming history form the core ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ) of an intense, focused action game.

Attack of the Fanboy – 4/5

Years and several Soulslike games later, FromSoftware revisits another of its iconic franchises and mostly soars with awesome visuals and combat. While difficulty is always going to be a factor in these games, the sudden challenge spikes will alienate those who lack the patience for finding the right build.

Gaming Trend – 90/100

White-knuckle brilliant Soulslike action, coupled with a movement style not seen in this genre for an entire generation, resurrects a blast from the past in a whole new way. If you are a fan of the genre, this game is pure punishing fun with all that implies. If not, it’s unlikely to convert you. In either case, Armored Core VI: Fires of the Rubicon is a brilliant title that breaks the mold on the genre in a whole new way.

Push Square – 7/10

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon admirably weds satisfying combat with extensive mech customisation, with short missions letting you quickly experiment with new ideas and builds. However, once you’ve settled on an optimal loadout, it’s those same quick-fire levels that begin to blunt the fun. The result is a game that can be just as enjoyable as it is frustrating. A littering of good boss fights and rock-solid performance on PS5 make it a worthwhile experience as a whole, but Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon won’t go down as a classic in the same way other FromSoftware titles have for the past decade.

VG247 – 3/5

Armored Core 6 is the essence of a soft reboot. It has the unenviable task of drawing newcomers to a niche, sometimes overly challenging series without changing too much of what made fans like it to begin with. The result is a mixed experience that, while it has some shining moments of brilliance, feels a bit loose and never plays to its strengths.

Press Start – 9/10

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon manages to succesfully bring back and cultivate an experience reminiscent of the old games for newer audiences without losing sight of what made the previous games so good. While it’s still relentlessly challenging and the story can be a bit drab, Fires of Rubicon is yet another success for FromSoftware with it’s satisfying and fast paced combat.

VideoGamer – 10/10

Armored Core 6 Fires of Rubicon is a masterful return to form for the series that incorporates the modern design philosophies of From Software. It’s a dystopian world with a brutally gorgeous aesthetic, and refined gameplay elevated by exceptional boss battles. Any fan of the series new or old will find something to love in this title.

Inverse – 10/10

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon is an utterly unforgettable experience with satisfyingly crunchy combat, a fascinating narrative with surprising twists, and deep customization for mech-heads. If this is the future of Armored Core, then the future is bright indeed.

MMORPG – 9.5/10

Armored Core VI Fires of Rubicon has everything you could want in a mech game. The tight, responsive controls leave nothing to be desired. Every battlefield is a work of art. … This is the Armored Core you’ve been waiting more than a decade for, and it is absolutely worth it.

GamesRadar+ – 9/10

Armored Core 6 is FromSoftware like we’ve never seen it, back on its mech beat with renewed vigor after 10 years away. It’s an exhilarating game that lives up to the promise of action that only mechs can deliver, and it’s a refreshingly short and easily replayed experience that still manages heaps of depth.

GamesHub – 5/5

Armored Core 6 is an unsympathetic and cold-blooded game. It’s a cup of bitter, black coffee – and thankfully, that suits my palate perfectly. It’s full of moments that make you feel very powerful – in both effortless and hard-fought ways – and moments that make you very, very small. In the face of it all, you’re pushed to overcome the impossible. And you’ll come out on the other end wearing an exhausted, wry smile.

GamingBolt – 9/10

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is a wonderful return to form for a franchise that has been dormant for a very long time. Its unique mission structure that encourages experimentation, coupled with an insane level of customization is one of the game’s major highlights, and while its story takes time to get started, no two missions ever really feel the same thanks to varied objectives and excellent encounter design.

That sums it up. Let us know what you think about the critic scores in the comments below, but it sure it looking good for FromSoftware. Stay tuned to our review of the game hitting the site soon-ish.

Black Desert Online Update 2.89 Out This Aug. 23 for New Monster Zone

Pearl Abyss has released Black Desert Online update 2.89 this August 23 to implement a new Monster Zone called ‘Ulukita, the Exalted Land’. The update in question is available now on all platforms. Check out the Black Desert Online patch notes down below.

Black Desert Online Update 2.89 Patch Notes | Black Desert Online August 23 Patch Notes:

Ulukita, the Exalted Land

A new monster zone, the Exalted Land, Ulukita, has arrived.

Ulukita is located in the southern part of Mediah, and was designed with Mediah’s unique colors in mind. As the zone covers a wide area, you can expect to feel like you are fighting while exploring the region, unlike the existing top zones. Although it requires high AP and DP as it is set to be the best monster zone, you can fight without too much stress as we did not add difficult gimmicks or attacks from monsters. Additionally, you can obtain the new treasure, Origin of Dark Hunger, which can be registered on the Central Market, and Lafi Bedmountain’s Upgraded Telescope.

In this update, two monster zones, Tungrad Ruins and City of the Dead, were added to Ulukita. These are monster zones, so there are no main quests for them, and two more zones will be added later after localization work is done. The update for the additional zones will include the highest grade shoes, Ator’s Shoes, and an exclusive story quest and production that befits the name, Exalted Land. (We will provide more detailed information later)

Furthermore, as Ulukita is currently the zone with the highest requirements in Black Desert, the entire region will be changed to a lawless zone in the future. The rules applied to the existing Valencian desert zone will apply to the lawless zone. In Valencia, when you die as a Fugitive, you are imprisoned in an underground prison located in Roud Sulfur Mine. In Ulukita, you will be imprisoned in an underground prison built within the region. This underground prison is much larger than the one in the sulfur mine and, well, a little scarier. Please keep this in mind. Unlike the existing lawless zones, Adventurers can use Marni’s Realm in Ulukita’s monster zones, so you can choose how you want to play.

The lawless zone will not be patched immediately, and we will provide further guidance when the update is ready. Also, please note that when Ulukita is changed to a lawless zone, the existing desert region will be released from the lawless zone.

  • Ulukita, the Exalted Land, has been revealed in southern Mediah.

<bUlukita, the Exalted Land – Monster Zone Info
  • Added two new monster zones, “City of the Dead” and “Tungrad Ruins,” in Ulukita.

City of the Dead

Monster Zone Recommended Stats
City of the Dead
310 AP
380 DP
City of the Dead
Monsters in the City of the Dead can be knocked down by successfully administering a simple gimmick.
When the Tehmelun Messenger, leading the monsters, performs a certain action, using a CC skill (regardless of type) will cause all nearby monsters to fall down.
Then, you will have the Essence of Ulukita buff applied to easily defeat the monsters.
The key is to take advantage of this situation and sweep the monsters away.

Monster Zone Recommended Stats
Tungrad Ruins
320 AP
410 DP
Tungrad Ruins
The combat method in the Tungrad Ruins is similar to that of the City of the Dead.
Among the groups of monsters, there are Tungrad Visionary monsters mixed in.
If you attack these guides first and detonate them, you can receive the Essence of Ulukita effect, and all the surrounding monsters will be stunned and have their DP decreased.
The key is to quickly defeat them in this situation.

Ulukita, the Exalted Land – Major Loot
Origin of Dark Hunger, Essence of Devouring
  • You can obtain Origin of Dark Hunger and Essence of Devouring as loot from Ulukita zones.

※ Origin of Dark Hunger and Essence of Devouring can be registered on the Central Market.

Origin of Dark Hunger
– Through Devour, you can increase the Enhancement success rate by up to +300. (Available from Enhancement success rate +100)
※ Central Market maximum price limit: 3 billion Silver
Essence of Devouring
– If you collect 4, you can obtain Origin of Dark Hunger by Heating (L) them.
※ Central Market maximum price limit: 750 million Silver.

Treasure – Lafi Bedmountain’s Upgraded Telescope
  • When Ulukita, a region of ancient weapons, the power of darkness, and lawless people of the wilderness, was revealed, Lafi Bedmountain, an ancient language analyst and alchemist, is trying to create new inventions using unique parts found only there.
“Wit’ those parts they be sayin’ be there and me skills, I might be able to forge somethin’ grand! Especially that massive eyeball shaped piece! It be makin’ me heart race fer the first time in ages! May I delve into some research? I’ll be showin’ ye somethin’ mighty useful! Hehehe!”
 – Lafi Bedmountain
  • Key materials for the invention Lafi Bedmountain is researching are rarely found throughout the lawless lands of Ulukita.

New Additions and Improvements

Class Changes

Berserker

We sought to make improvements to the arsenal of skills the Awakened Berserker could use in PvE. The most common combo made use of [Seismic Blast], [Flow: Split Shot], [Flow: Scatter Shot], [Flow: Slugfest], [Titan Blow], [Flow: Ancient Wave], and while said skills were on cooldown, Berserkers could only use [Blasting] – [Ground Lifting] repeatedly. Today’s update takes the somewhat lackluster [Flow: General Disarray] skill and brought new life into it as [Flame Pummel], which we hope will be used a major skill for PvE situations, and relieve Berserkers from having to repeat [Blasting] – [Ground Lifting] to deal more powerful combos.

These improvements allow her to increase the gap between her foes to even greater range, and we also added the [Surface-slicer Patraca] skill with its Knockdown debuff that can come in handy even when [Wind-piercer Patraca] is on cooldown.

Item
Ornette’s/Odore’s Spirit Essence Family Inventory Registration

Ornette’s Spirit Essence and Odore’s Spirit Essence can now be used directly from the Family inventory without having to transfer them to storage.
This was a frequently requested feature by Adventurers via our official channels, and after much consideration and discussion, we are pleased to announce this news.

Unlike other treasures that add special effects to Adventurers’ adventures, Ornette’s and Odore’s Spirit Essences were considered essential items. While treasure items add convenience and uniqueness to the game, we believed that having them be essential items would prevent Adventurers from fully experiencing the uniqueness of treasure items.

Finding treasures as a personal goal and obtaining them after a long journey (or unexpectedly) is a thrilling and proud experience. However, if this process is considered essential, it may be difficult to provide only enjoyable experiences.
Ornette’s and Odore’s Spirit Essences have been made available through various updates and events, but with today’s update, we have added more convenience and purchasing options through the Central Market. We hope that adventurers will enjoy their adventures in the wider world of Black Desert even more with this update.

  • Ornette’s Spirit Essence and Odore’s Spirit Essence can now be placed and used from your Family inventory.

* Automatic use of Ornette’s/Odore’s Spirit Essence can be toggled on again by pressing the Potion Settings via your fairy.

Invested nodes will now maintain their levels. You may also retrieve the contribution from nodes that you are maintaining for future visits.
If you wish to receive the benefits of node investment at a monster zone during your adventure, you can easily activate the benefits by reinvesting at any time, since the node level will be maintained.
With the update from last February, node level can go up to 20, and the amount of energy required for node level up was adjusted. It is recommended to check if you have achieved a sufficient node level before retrieving.

  • Improved nodes to maintain investment levels even when you retrieve contributions from them.
