Apex Legends Escape Patch Notes Revealed for Upcoming Season 11 Update

While Season 11 of Apex Legends isn’t starting until next week, Respawn has revealed the full Apex Legends Escape patch notes! Curious what the Apex Legends upcoming update will bring? Read on for the patch notes! This is going to be a long one!

Apex Legends Escape Patch Notes | Apex Legends Season 11 Patch Notes:

NEW LEGEND: ASH

A new Legend with a familiar face, Ash has overseen the Arenas from the shadows and held a tight grip on Pathfinder’s heart. A simulacrum made from the woman who once was Dr. Ashleigh Reid, Ash is determined to eliminate every trace of weakness that held her back as a human.. Detecting death wherever she goes, spearing enemies with electric snares that lock them in place, tearing through space to take more lives– it would be easy to think that there was nothing human left within that cold steel.

But a trace of the human doctor remains, and she poses a greater threat to Ash than any Legend in the ring.

Watch Ash in action here!

Passive: Marked for Death
Ash’s map shows the location of recent deathboxes. She gets a special prompt on a deathbox, use it to mark surviving attackers (once per box).

Tactical: Arc Snare
Throw a spinning snare that damages and tethers the first enemy that gets too close.

Ultimate: Phase Breach
Tear open a one-way portal to a targeted location. This portal stays open for a short time, during which anyone can use it.

NEW MAP: STORM POINT

This beautiful oasis was once an energy colony for the IMC, and the ruins remain. Many have tried to make a home here: all have failed. A survey of the area revealed the remains of three unique settlements built across the centuries, but no survivors. The colony lay abandoned, only visited by the occasional pirate or castaway. Now the Mercenary Syndicate has plans of their own for Storm Point.

It looks so enticing, but the pristine beaches and crystal waters are just the eye of the hurricane. All around, dangers swirl: wild prowlers, venomous spiders, and the gathering storms only add to the tension in the air. Now the Legends are here to make this place their own.

So it looks like Storm Point is only going to get more dangerous. Check out our blog with all the details here.

BATTLE ROYALE MAP ROTATION

For the Escape update the map rotation will be back down to 2 maps; Storm Point and World’s Edge. With Storm Point being a whole new map, we want to make sure players have plenty of time to master the new arena.

ARENAS MAP ROTATION

With the introduction of Encore, the Arenas map rotation will now include only the custom made Arenas maps. We will not be using BR locations for Arenas in the Escape update.

NEW WEAPON: C.A.R. SMG

When you’re in a precarious place, you need a dangerous, flexible weapon: meet the C.A.R. SMG. The Combat Advanced Round submachine gun is a fully automatic weapon that takes adaptability to the next level by accepting either Light or Heavy mags. The C.A.R. hits hard but handles light, this hybrid weapon’s the best of both words for when you’re ready to take a stand and become the most dangerous thing on the island.

RANKED UPDATES

Hello, Legends! Let’s take a quick look at how Ranked in Emergence shaped up and review the changes coming in Escape. Ranked continues to attract a large portion of players (around 40% of all playtime!), but this doesn’t mean we can’t look to make improvements.

Note: We fixed an issue where expired skydrive trails remained accessible for longer than they should have. These trails will now expire on the intended seasonal cadence, as mentioned originally in the Ranked Series 3 post (trails from Series 1 & 2 are still grandfathered in).

RANKED BATTLE ROYALE – ESCAPE

“Skill” in Apex can be evaluated in all sorts of ways. It’s the amalgamation of gun skill, movement, positioning, awareness, legend mastery, and prevailing over everyone else as Champion that separates the lowly Bronze from Apex Predators.

With that in mind, we want to provide more flexibility and nuance to how players can express skill when RP gains are at stake. Before Escape, measurements have been simple and straightforward. We grant RP based on kill points and a placement multiplier. Now, we’re easing back on some RP restrictions to offer other routes to max out kill-related RP in a match.

TL;DR: Just give me the summary…

  • Kill RP values now take differences between killer/victim Ranked tiers into account.
  • The kill RP cap (as we have traditionally thought about it up to this point) is effectively being raised from six to seven. However, this kill-related RP cap can be reached in different ways, depending on tier differences and placement. Placement is still paramount, and you still must place first to have a chance at max total RP.

To expand on the first point, tier differences between the killer and victim will be taken into account when calculating baseline kill point value. For example, if a Plat player kills a Diamond player, that kill counts as 12 instead of 10 RP

Tier Difference Kill Points
-3 3
-2 5
-1 8
0 10
1 12
2 15
3 20

Some points of clarification;

  • Victims do not lose more or less points when killed (in terms of entry cost). Only the killer receives the modifier.
  • Apex Predator and Master are treated as the same tier.
  • An encounter rate with someone of a 3+ tier difference is ultra-rare (less than 0.1%). Ranked matchmaking is staying the same, so in general, you’ll come across identical tiers. In cases where you squad up with a different rank friend or merge into a different tier lobby, your KP will be adjusted appropriately.

After tier differences are taken into account for kill points, a flat per kill bonus is added based on placement.

Final Placement Per Kill Bonus
1 15
2-3 10
4-5 5
6-10 2
11-14+ 0

The maximum kill point RP is 175. Any kill-related RP that exceeds that after placement and tier modifiers are added doesn’t affect total RP. The final step is to add a flat placement bonus. Enough with the math, let’s explain these changes with an example:

As a Platinum player, you party up with your Diamond friend and matchmake into a lobby with similarly skilled players. You snag second place, with 6 kills (and/or assists) against Diamond players, and 3 on Plat players.

Each kill on those Diamond players is worth 12 points instead of the typical 10, because they are one rank tier higher than you. That leaves us with (12 × 6) + (10 × 3) = 102 RP.

Now let’s take placement into account. In second, the per kill bonus is 10, so our 9 kills (including assists) × 10 = 90 RP.

https://preview.redd.it/hinur92r38w71.png?width=608&format=png&auto=webp&s=9e58b10360c73c04e4617e2857fc4c045732aabb

We’re curious to see how these changes affect the ranked grind. Jump into Storm Point this first split and let us know how they feel. Stay tuned; this is only the start of what we have in store for Ranked improvements.

RANKED ARENAS – ESCAPE

We learned a lot from the first season of Ranked arenas and are eager to bring you some improvements:

  • Arenas Ranked now has 2 splits, similar to Ranked Battle Royale
  • Along with each new season and split, there is a soft MMR reset and new placement matches. New seasons require the usual 10 placement matches while a new split only requires 5 placement matches.
  • Improvements have been made to matchmaking for finding similarly skilled teammates.
  • Reduced the AP amount gained or lost from MMR differences between teams.

DEV NOTE:The final calculated AP amount for a match is a factor of your current AP and MMR. It’s also influenced by the MMR differences between teams. In practice, this difference was factoring in more than we wanted. I.e. Losing a match you were slightly favored to win was giving a bigger AP loss than desired.

BALANCE CHANGES

WATTSON

Dev Note

Move aside Ash, this is Wattson’s season. We’re ecstatic to finally share some long-anticipated Wattson improvements! Her win rate and encounter win rate have always been above average. This could be for a multitude of reasons; her defensive playstyle correlates to higher average placements, Wattson mains are diehard loyalists, and her hitbox has been the smallest in the game ever since Lifeline’s adjustment.

Regardless, much of the high-level data that we’ve shared doesn’t match perception. Play a few games as Wattson and you’ll often find yourself wanting more out of her kit. The goal of these changes is to redistribute her invisible power into the parts of her kit that shape the battlefield in a unique way. We wanted to see what changes could spark more consistency and efficacy in her kit, and ideally ground some of the difficulties surrounding the way her abilities work.

We want to enable more active gameplay from Wattson players by smoothing out the rough edges in placing fences. Responsiveness tweaks, longer range, and faster cooldowns means that Wattson can much more quickly and reliably set up a defensive position, or even use her fences and pylon in the midst of open combat in a pinch.

General

  • Improved the reliability and responsiveness of placing Wattson’s Tactical and Ultimate in-world objects.
  • Wattson can place her Tactical and Ultimate objects on valid surfaces above Wattson’s eye level (to a reasonable extent).
  • General hitbox size increase, to compensate for the removal of low profile in the Legacy update.

Tactical – Perimeter Defense

  • Increased damage on crossing a Fence by 33%. (15 to 20)
  • Increased debuff duration on crossing a Fence by 100%. (1.5 to 3 seconds)
  • Increased the time allowance to be hit again by a subsequent Fence effect by 100%. (0.5 to 1 second).
  • Decreased recharge time by 50% (30 to 15 seconds).
  • Increased placement range by 50%.
  • Decreased the delay between Fences shutting off and reactivating after an ally passes through them by 60%. (1.0 -> 0.4 seconds)
  • Wattson now moves at Unarmed-speed while readying/placing Fence nodes.
  • Fence nodes can now be placed as soon as the weapon is readied, instead of waiting for the animation to finish.

Ultimate – Interception Pylon

  • The Pylon output has been significantly reworked.
    • Reduced the number of active Pylons Wattson can place from 3 to 1.
    • The Pylon now lasts forever (instead of timing out after 90 seconds).
    • The Pylon now has a pool of 250 Shields that can be distributed to nearby players, instead of effectively infinite Shields.
    • Increased the Pylon shield recharge rate by 150%, and smoothed regen rate. (2/second -> 5/second, or more accurately: 1/0.5 seconds -> 1/0.2 seconds)
    • When a Pylon is out of Shields, it no longer recharges players’ Shields, but can still zap incoming ordnance.
    • Taking damage while regenerating Shields via the Pylon delays continued regeneration by 1 second.
  • The UI on the ground and HUD elements now displays the amount of Shields that remain in the Pylon.
  • Pinging a friendly Pylon will now display the percentage of Shields remaining in the Pylon.
  • Pylon ordnance-zapping has been moderately reworked.
    • Ordnance is now zapped when the Pylon detects that it would hit any surface within range and line of sight of the Pylon, instead of being zapped as soon as it comes within range.
    • As a part of the changes, current issues where the Pylon doesn’t reliably zap ordnance (particularly concerning airstrike abilities, and ordnance that bounced off surfaces near the Pylon) should now be addressed.

BALANCE CHANGES: WEAPONS / GEAR

SUPPLY DROP ROTATION

  • This season the Triple-Take returns to floor loot and taking its place is the G7 Scout. The Scout enters the Supply Drop with its old friend the Double-Tap Trigger equipped.

HOP UPS

  • Dual Shell – Each round loaded into the Mastiff or the 30-30 Repeater is doubled.

FULLY KITTED ROTATION

  • Added: Mastiff 30-30 Repeater, R-301, CAR, Longbow
  • Removed: Peacekeeper, Rampage, RE-45, Flatline, and Charge Rifle

EVA-8

  • Fire rate reduced from 2.1 to 2.0

Dev Note

With the reduced bolt scaling we’ve done in previous passes the EVA-8 is still performing ahead of the shotgun pack. Hitting the base fire rate should help balance out our shotgun roster.

PEACEKEEPER

  • Slightly increased pellet size
  • Choke up time reduced from 1.5s to 1.25s
  • Choked up shots remain tight for slightly longer when exiting ADS

Dev Note

When the PK came out of the crate we gave it a big sweep of nerfs to make sure the floor PK wasn’t the crate monster we had all grown to know. In this pass, we swung a little hard so we’re giving it a QOL and usability pass this season.

LONGBOW

  • Damage reduced from 60 to 55

Dev Note

We’re walking back a recent buff to the Longbow that proved unnecessary. We wanted to give it some love due to all the recent Marksman updates but it seems the Longbow was just fine.

L-STAR

  • Reduced barrel effectiveness at all rarity tiers
  • Significantly reduced projectile collision size
  • Damage reduced from 18 to 17

Dev Note

The L-STAR has been a force to be reckoned with this season so we’re taking a big swing and hitting its projectile size and damage in an effort to bring it down a notch.

G7 SCOUT

  • Damage increased from 34 to 36
  • Double Tap added to Supply Drop G7 Scout

Dev Note

With the G7 Scout entering the supply drop we’re giving it a bump to damage and adding back on the retired Double Tap to give it some extra spice.

SUPPLY DROP WEAPON RATES

  • Early game crate weapon rate increased from 25% to 50%
  • Mid game crate weapon rate increased from 50% to 75%
  • Late game crate weapon rate increased from 75% to 100%

Dev Note

Pushing a supply drop in the end game and whiffing on a weapon feels pretty rough. We want to improve the reliability of getting crate weapons out of supply drops throughout all phases of the game. Don’t worry, we’re adjusting Kraber spawn rates accordingly to keep them in line.

HOT ZONE GOLD LOOT RATES

  • Increased amount of gold loot that spawns in hot zones

Dev Note

Hot Zones can sometimes feel a bit lackluster so we’re injecting more high-tier loot into these dynamic zones to make them more enticing drop spots.

CRAFTING

  • Increased ammo from crafting
    • Light Ammo 20 → 60
    • Heavy Ammo 20 → 60
    • Energy Ammo 20 → 60
    • Shotgun Ammo 8 → 24
    • Arrows 16 → 48
    • Sniper 12 → 36
  • Crafting Ammo price increased from 5 to 10 per weapon
  • Evo Armor Points from crafting increased from 100 to 150
  • Evo Armor Points cost increased from 45 to 50
  • Replaced a sniper bundle with a shotgun bundle featuring the Dual Shell

ENEMY NPC UPDATES

  • Prowler health across the game has gone up from 90 to 114 (Storm Point and World’s Edge)
  • Prowlers on World’s Edge and Flyers on Kings Canyon now reward EVO points (25%) … all damage done to AI now rewards progress to your EVO armor

ARENAS

Supply Drop

  • Supply drop will now land outside the first ring, if possible, and land 10 seconds earlier.
  • Purple weapons now spawn more in earlier rounds
    • Round 1 – 3x blue -> 1x purple + 2x blue
    • Round 2 – 1x purple + 2x blue -> 2x purple 1x blue
    • Round 3 – 2x purple 1x blue -> 3x purple
  • Supply drop no longer spawns blue Havoc or Devotion or gold RE-45

Weapon Price Updates

  • Moz
    • Blue 125 → 150
    • Purple 200 → 250
  • P2020
    • Blue 75 → 50
    • Purple 150 → 25
  • RE45
    • Base 200 → 150
    • White 150 → 100
    • Blue 250 → 200
  • Prowler
    • Base 500 → 400
    • Blue 300 → 350
    • Purple 400 → 350
  • R99
    • Base 500 → 450
    • Blue 250 → 300
    • Purple 300 → 350
  • Hemlok
    • Base 500 → 450

QUALITY OF LIFE

  • UI – teammates will now show that they are self-reviving on their in-world game tags.
  • Added VO for players to communicate they are out of ammo.
  • Updated the Arena Map Rotation Images to show up to five maps.
  • Updated Social Awareness Badges to unlock as default for all accounts.

BUG FIXES

  • UI/UX / Steam Only: Fixed issue where your online friends playing Apex didn’t count towards total online friends while in matches.
  • Fixed bug for Placing a Caustic trap over a Seer Ultimate, that could result in the Ultimate being protected from taking damage.
  • Updated Volt skin’s charm placement to be moved up so that charms become more visible.
  • Fixed bug with players losing extra Boosted Loader extra ammo if the player reloads before getting to base ammo amount.
  • Steam: Fixed issue where if a player has a forward slash in their name, a backslash will be added right before it automatically.
  • R5DEV-280424 – Legends- Retail – Hitting an enemy with Valk tactical missiles, can result in health damage even with shields equipped
  • Fixed issue where players do not see Legend Select when starting a game in Trios and immediately advance to drop ship phase.
  • Audio fix for cases where music starts playing in the middle of a BR match.
  • Fixed UI error that showed that the Legendary Prowler had the “Shotgun” tag in the in-game info screen.
  • Audio fix for cases where VO for map changes doubles up (plays both variants at the same time).
  • Audio fix for Rampart Town Takeover where vending machines had no soundFX.
  • Fixed bug where Non-Crossplay Steam friends playing Apex would show up with debug text.
  • Removed the random rock floating in midair in World’s Edge.
  • Bug fix for cases where a player could stand up and jump in a knocked-down state after an enemy starts finisher and cancels it.
  • Fixed bug where player names would be missing from Legend select.
  • Reduced hitbox size for Crafting Material Canisters to better fit its shape.

Legends

  • Rampart:
    • Fix for cases where Rampart’s “No Mercy” finisher causes her to clip through geometry.
  • Wattson:
    • Fixed issue where her Ultimate doesn’t always destroy frag grenades when thrown inside the Pylon radius.
  • Pathfinder:
    • Fixed issue with players being able to create ziplines much farther than intended.
  • Fuse:
    • Fixed bug with his Ultimate cooldown being the same with or without a gold helmet.
  • Seer
    • Removed ability for players to be able to bunny hop at full speed while using Passive.

Once the patch is out, we’ll be sure to let our readers know.

COD Vanguard Beta Changes to Launch Build Outlined; Ninja Perk & Console FOV Slider Added

For those curious what Sledgehammer Games is shaking up in Call of Duty Vanguard from the beta build we played last month, the studio has outlined some of the COD Vanguard beta changes players can expect to appear at launch, and a confirmation that the Ninja perk has been added is one of them!

Check out the visibility changes, kilstreak changes and more listed. Don’t forget, the devs can tweak these as necessary during the game’s lifecycle.

COD Vanguard Beta Changes to Launch Build:

Our goal coming out of the Vanguard Beta was to give players a faster and smoother gameplay experience at launch. To achieve that, we’ve reduced weapon swap/pickup animation speeds and are bringing in new movement perks. We’ve also added the “Ninja” perk which allows you to have silent footsteps at all times.

Big changes have been made to our audio mix across the board, such as increasing footstep sounds, reducing the announcer frequency, and much more.  We’ve improved the performance of Vanguard across all platforms and fixed glitches resulting in pixelation, lighting issues, and graphical corruption that some players experienced in Beta. We’ve also squashed some pesky bugs that caused spawn issues in Patrol mode.

Visibility

  • Distortion effects were removed from muzzle flash and we reduced smoke emitted when firing a weapon
  • Completed a pass on muzzle flash placement/coverage when aiming down sights
  • VFX Environment ambient placement for better sightlines
  • Removed the droplets of water that get all up in your face when it rains
  • Various bugs have been fixed including a bug where certain optics would stop enemy and friendly HUD icons from displaying while ADS
  • We’ve fixed cases of nametags appearing through Destruction
  • Lens flare reduced across all maps (we nerfed the sun)
  • We will continue to refine VFX, Lighting, and UI into launch and monitor player feedback surrounding the various topics of visibility.

Audio

  • Audio received a complete mixing and content overhaul to address community feedback from the Public Beta, including more audible footsteps, player and non-player weapons, and map environment content
  • Footsteps are silent when players ADS, Crouch Walk, or have a Perk / Field Upgrade equipped which silences movement
  • Fixed a bug that caused shots after the first shot to be too quiet
  • Operator quips occur less frequently
  • Asked Butcher to chill out. VO lines are less frequent

Spawns

  • A bug resulting in unpredictable spawns in Patrol has been fixed as well general tuning of spawn logic globally
  • We will continue to refine spawn logic over time to improve spawns in matches with higher player counts

Movement

  • Grenades and incendiaries no longer slow movement speed of players
  • A cap has been placed on max suppression effects
  • Changes have been made to animation times including weapon swap speeds and throwing of equipment (ie: Gammon bombs can be thrown more quickly)
  • Sprint out times have been sped up and re-balanced
  • Dev Tip: Dauntless, a perk that players didn’t have access to in Beta, makes players immune to movement reducing effects

Weapons

  • Shotgun lethality has been improved
  • Effective Range of most Shotguns, SMGs, and Pistols have been reduced (SMGs and Pistols were overperforming at range and Shotguns were adjusted down due to increased lethality overall)
  • Hipfire spread has been adjusted on most guns (mainly to add more consistency across weapon categories)
  • Tradeoffs on barrels, magazines, and stocks have been reduced
  • Ammo types were rebalanced to include more tradeoffs
  • Squashed bugs affecting Weapon Progression and Detailed Stats
  • Dev Tip: Vanguard’s version of the smoke grenade works differently than previous games. You’re fully hidden from distant enemies, but can be seen at closer ranges allowing you to close the distance between you and the enemy and hunt them down with close-quarter combat builds.
  • Dev Tip: Try setting your mount options to use ADS rather than ADS+Melee. It’s not for everyone but it’s a powerful way to become more accurate in an instant while staying out of harm’s way. It can be combined with blind fire for some great results.

Killstreaks and Field Upgrades

  • Friendly Spy Planes and Counter Spy Planes will no longer appear overhead
  • Spy Planes and Counter Spy Planes move slower and are easier to hit
  • Counter Spy Planes have a shorter duration
  • Health has been reduced on Spy Planes, Counter Spy Planes, and most placed Field Upgrades
  • Death Machine and War Machine have swapped costs
  • Glide bomb is easier to control
  • A max timer has been added to the Radar Jammer and Field Mic Field Upgrades
  • Bugs resulting in graphical corruption of the Attack Dogs have been fixed – no more Dognados 🙁

Perks

  • Low Profile has been removed and replaced with Ninja

Alongside that list, Sledgehammer Games has also confirmed that a FOV (field of view) slider is confirmed for consoles! This and more have been touched on in the FAQ!

PRE-LAUNCH FAQ

Q: Will spawns/weapons/visibility continue to be tuned after launch as needed?

Absolutely. At launch, we will be paying attention specifically to our weapon balance.  We have 38 weapons at launch, all with different sets of attachments and modifiers.  We want to create a fun balance between our weapons with their own strengths and weaknesses.  We’ll be listening, tuning, and tweaking from the second we go live. We will also continue to tweak spawn logic for better spawns and monitor the broader conversation around visibility.

Q: Are more free maps coming after launch?

Headlining Preseason free content is Shipment, the classic Multiplayer experience re-fitted for Vanguard, currently scheduled for a November 17 arrival. Newcomers and veterans alike can ready up for a fresh take on the map that’s entertained Call of Duty fans for over a decade, providing all Vanguard players a chaotic playground for destruction.

Q: How will Vanguard integrate with Warzone at launch and in Season One?

Building on what we did with Cold War and Warzone, Vanguard will continue Universal Progression so that no matter what mode or game you’re playing, you’re able to level up weapons, gear, Battle Pass, and more simultaneously. Story-wise, we’re weaving the narrative throughout the live season content so that the story will transcend the Single Player Campaign in Vanguard to include Warzone. to go deeper with the narrative and create one connected live game experience.

Q: How will Vanguard and Zombies be integrated?

Vanguard’s Battle Pass system will utilize unified progression between Multiplayer, Call of Duty®: Warzone™, and Zombies. Your player level is shared between the modes, too, so you’re always progressing in tandem for a fully unified experience. To learn more about how the Dark Aether saga will continue in Vanguard, read here.

Q: When can I pre-load the game if I’ve pre-ordered digitally?

RICOCHET Anti-Cheat’s backend anti-cheat security features will launch alongside Call of Duty®: Vanguard, and with the Pacific update coming to Call of Duty: Warzone. Learn more about Ricochet, here.

Q: Is FOV Slider coming to console?

Yes.

Q: How frequently will Playlists be updated?

While we can’t promise exact cadence, we can say that we plan to update playlists at a higher frequency than previous titles, with a focused consideration to community feedback.

Dauntless Update 1.71 Patch Notes | Dauntless Update 1.8.1 Patch Notes:

NEW OMNICELL: REVENANT

Forge your life force into a weapon. Use Revenant’s active ability to summon tenacious tendrils and inflict massive damage to your foes — but be careful, this consumes health which cannot be regained until Revenant’s benefits end. As a passive, Revenant grants lifesteal. Use Vengeful Hearts dropped from a Bloodshot Shrowd to craft this new omnicell.

Passive: Lifesteal +2%.
When Revenant state ends, each stack of Void Energy grants 125 health per second for 10 seconds.

Active: Drain up to 500 health to enter Revenant state and spawn a Void Orb.
For every 100 health drained, summon an Umbral Tendril that deals 700 umbral damage.
If an Umbral Tendril hits a target, it spawns an additional Void Orb upon impact.
Picking up a Void Orb grants a stack of Void Energy, which gives +4% damage and extends Revenant state by 1 second.
Revenant state lasts for 15 seconds and prevents all healing.

Cooldown: 10 seconds.

BLOODSHOT SHROWD

A stronger, more devious Shrowd has appeared on the Shattered Isles. The Bloodshot Shrowd not only corrupts Slayers, but steals their health to unleash its true power. Slay it on Twilight Sanctuary in the Ritual of Blood island event. Read the new Twilight Observer lore node on Twilight Sanctuary to uncover this Behemoth’s secrets…

The Bloodshot Shrowd also drops a rumour for the Shadow Scythe axe skin.

If you love Lara Croft and her adventures then a big celebration awaits, as the Tomb Raider 25th Anniversary is being celebrated by Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics, and Eidos-Montreal with big  announcements for the franchise that will get fans excited and happy for the series’ legacy and future!

In celebration of the original Tomb Raider game’s release 25 years ago this week, Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics, and Eidos-Monreal announced a couple of things via a press release.

Here’s the game related news for Tomb Raider fans to look forward to.

  • A big Tomb Raider sale is now ongoing on different platforms such as the PlayStation Store and Xbox Game Store with discounts up to 89% off.
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider will be free on PC to all Prime Gaming members from November 1 to 14.
  • Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris to Nintendo Switch in 2022.
  • The three original Lara Croft voice actors in Shelley Blond (Tomb Raider), Judith Gibbins (Tomb Raider II, Tomb Raider III: Adventures of Lara Croft), and Jonell Elliott (Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation, Tomb Raider: Chronicles, Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness), join Keeley Hawes  (Tomb Raider: Legend, Tomb Raider: Anniversary, Tomb Raider: Underworld, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris) in the mobile game Tomb Raider Reloaded.

PlayStation PC Label Formed for Sony’s PC Gaming Operations

PlayStation games appearing on the PC officially have a banner to unite them, as a PlayStation PC label has been formed for Sony’s PC gaming operations — hinting that the company is going to increase its gaming presence on the platform.

The name was spotted by Steam users who noticed the new label — which was registered by Sony last April. It signifies PlayStation’s presence on PC and releasing their exclusive titles on the platform. The company first released Horizon Zero Dawn for PC last August, and then followed things up with Days Gone last May.

In an interview with GQ, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan said that porting PlayStation titles to the PC was done in order to reach a wider audience who want access to their content.

“There’s an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognise the economics of game development, which are not always straightforward. The cost of making games goes up with each cycle, as the calibre of the IP has improved. Also, our ease of making it available to non-console owners has grown. So it’s a fairly straightforward decision for us to make.”

PlayStation is also preparing to offer God of War this coming January 14 for PC users. You can read up on the details and watch the reveal trailer for that here.

Once players unlock these Diamond Contracts, they’ll be unlocked forever, so you can complete them after the season ends.
    • Dev note: Diamond Contracts are meant for brawlers who really want tough, long-term goals to go after. For Premium Brawl Pass players that have already reached Level 100, don’t worry, because these new Contracts should already be there waiting for you the next time you log in.
  • Improved Matchmaking Times
    • Most players should see some significantly reduced matchmaking times in both Street Play and League Play.
    • Dev note: We are continually monitoring matchmaking data and community comments to find ways of improving our matchmaking system. We know that queue times have been a particular issue, and we are experimenting with different approaches to bring those times down without having too negative an impact on latency and fair skill matchups. This is a weekly work-in-progress, so you can help us further improve our matchmaking system by submitting a Lag Report here when you encounter an issue. If you are interested in understanding more about how matchmaking works and why striking the right balance between queue times, latency, and skill is more complicated that it seems, then check out our blog, “Making Magical Matches: The Minutia, Math, and More that Makes for Masterful Matchmaking.“
    • Skill Rating Decay Update
      • For Diamond brawlers in League Play, Skill Rating will now decrease by 100 every week that the brawler doesn’t play, down to a minimum threshold at which it will stop decreasing.
      • Dev note: Previously it only decreased when a player logged in, so if a player got a top spot and then never logged in again, they could be hard to dislodge. We will be monitoring the leaderboards to find the right minimum to keep the top placements in the leaderboard competitive. Be sure to play at least once a week to keep your Skill Rating up!
    • Bots and Practice Match
      • Bots have been added to Knockout City for the first time. For now, bots are restricted to some NEW players in Street Play ONLY, and only for their first few matches. Bots will never appear in League Play, and won’t appear for experienced players (or even new players grouped with experienced players). However, for any players who aren’t new, there is also a new Practice Match option in the Training menu for anybody curious to throw down against some bots, or practice your essential brawling skills. Bots are always marked with a new bot icon on their Player Card, so you know for sure whether you’re playing against another human brawler or not.
      • Dev note: We want to bring as many people as we can into the game and get them brawling right away–the DJ just loves seeing new faces in town. We think an effective way to do this is for bots help them learn the basics in a controlled environment. We’ll be watching how this goes and comparing the results against new players who don’t play against bots. Writing AI bots is a tricky endeavor; they should be good enough to show new players how to play the game, but easy enough to let those players be successful and have a good introduction to the game. So, keep in mind that, for now, their behavior is intentionally limited. Who knows what they’ll learn in the future, though.
    • Deep Space Dispatches
      • Lore fans, rejoice! The Deep Space Dispatches now feature voiceovers in English, French, German and Spanish.

Bloodhunt Community Patch Update 0.6 Released; Duos Mode and More Introduced

Sharkmob has released details on the Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodhunt Community Patch update 0.6 that dropped yesterday, and this one brings about tons of fixes, Duos Mode, and other gameplay changes. In addition to the patch, Sharkmob also released a trailer for the Nosferatu Clan. Head on below for the complete patch notes for Bloodhunt Community Patch update 0.6, as well as the Nosferatu trailer.

Bloodhunt Community Patch Update 0.6 Patch Notes:

Hello Bloodhunt Community!

We are very excited to present the update 0.6 release notes! We call this the Bloodhunt Community update as it’s focused on many of the things that we have been hearing about from our players. This update contains Duo mode quality of life improvements, optimizations, balance adjustments, and other fun improvements we saw our players asking for.

We want to thank everyone who has taken part in Bloodhunt’s Early Access (more on that below!), as it has really helped spotlight where more work is needed. We hope you will see this update as confirmation that we’re listening to you and reacting as quickly we can. Which maybe isn’t always as fast as you’d hope, but we don’t want to jeopardize stability just to rush something in before we’re sure it’s safe to add.

The detailed list of improvements is quite extensive for the Bloodhunt Community Patch update 0.6, so let’s jump right in.

A “token” of our appreciation!

As a Swedish studio, it is almost a national responsibility to have at least one bad pun in our patch notes, so why not lead with it?

With that out of the way, we want to show our gratitude to those of you who have supported Bloodhunt during Early Access and have been patient with us as we work on addressing your feedback by offering a bunch of FREE STUFF for a limited time!

  • A free item will be offered in the store each day for a limited time! Be sure to log in every day to collect!
Bloodhunt Community Patch Update 0.6
  • Also for a limited time, you can earn tokens just by completing specific daily challenges. We look forward to seeing what you will spend it on and hope to see you share your ultimate Vampire creations with us.
Bloodhunt Community Patch Update 0.6

You asked for it, Duo mode!

  • We ran a survey recently asking if we should try to temporarily add a duo mode to see if it would be a fun experience, and we got an overwhelming response that we should add it. So, in the interest of keeping our matchmaker as snappy as possible we are adding Duos with this update, replacing Trios. But don’t worry, Trios will return in the near future.

Also worth mentioning is that Duos is a mode that supports 42 players, and besides this being the obvious answer to life it will also positively impact performance (and is divisable by 2 and 3 player groups), but the game maintains its high paced tempo, especially with the increased red gas changes that are also in this update (More info on that below).

Kill credit! Finally!

  • As of this update, the player who downs an enemy gets credit for the kill regardless how or by whom the enemy is eliminated. Doesn’t matter if the enemy is finished off by another player, the red gas, Entity, fire, a shark, etc. Kill credit is only awarded if the enemy is eliminated before reviving.
  • Eliminating a knocked down player now awards an assist.
  • Assists are also awarded for dealing a certain amount of damage to an enemy that gets finished by someone or something else.

Pacing improvements – less wait, more action!

Bloodhunt Community Patch Update 0.6
  • Players can now requeue after a match without having to return to Elysium in solo or group modes but note that requeuing as a party is not yet supported. Also note that you will need to leave to the results screen to be able to requeue. This is an early implementation and therefore a bit rough around the edges, but we felt it was better to get this feature into the game as soon as possible than to delay it to make it perfect.
  • Shorter pre- and post-match timers, archetype select, and deployment to get you into and out of a game faster.
  • In group player, spectating players can now open and ping the map and press a key to highlight the nearest respawn point for surviving teammates, improving the odds of getting back into the action. This will also make it easier for new players to understand how the respawn system works.
  • We’ve tuned the red gas to tighten up the pace of the game and make the initial phase of the game more varied.

For transparency, here are the new timings:

Initial wait time: 90s -> 30s

Round 1: 215s -> 185s

Round 2: 185s -> 160s

Round 3: 180s -> 155s

Round 4 & 5 are unchanged at 175s for round 4 and 170s for round 5.

Loot and item adjustments

  • We’ve added two new high tier loot locations: Memorial Park and the Graveyard. The graveyard is a great place for close based ground combat with many smaller objects to hide behind. With the addition of the high-tier loot we think that we will see the fights in this area get even more exciting. The Memorial Park area is an excellent place to show your parkour skills due to its open layout with simple geometry enabling a lot of verticality. High tier loot will raise the stakes further and we can’t wait to see the action-packed mayhem that our players will cause.
  • The blue visual effects around loot piles are now removed once all items are picked up. This makes it clearer when there is nothing left to find.
  • Consumable items are now automatically collected, just like ammo.
  • Consumables now have fixed positions in the consumable wheel instead of being sorted by the order in which they’re picked up.
  • Golden weapons are now a bit rarer.
  • Improved visibility of Camarilla and Entity crates – We have brightened the base color of the Entity and Camarilla crates to make them stand out more, which will hopefully enable more players to find them. We also added particle effect around the lid to draw further attention to them.

Making the game more welcoming for new players

Bloodhunt is easy to play but hard to master, and the skill ceiling is very high, so we’ve added some improvements to help ease new players into the experience and turn them into worthy adversaries for existing players.

  • New players will now get several onboarding sessions with a mix of other new players and bots, which are identified as Cultists. Look for a “Cultists present” indicator on the pre-match screen. The bots aren’t always… convincing, but they’re fun to kill and a good way to practice weapons and powers. This is an experimental feature and subject to further tuning and development, but from our testing, players seem to like having the chance to get familiar with the game at a slower pace. Let us know what you think!
  • We’ve streamlined some steps of the tutorial that some players were struggling with. These are mostly related to confusing input prompts.
  • By popular request, you can now skip the tutorial.
  • Push-to-talk voice chat (VOIP) is now on by default. We think that this will encourage more players to use voice chat and increase cooperation and mentoring. If you are an experienced player, please share your expertise with your teammates!
  • Because of this change, the audio settings have been reset.
  • XP callouts have been added to notifications for events such as downing, eliminating, and diablerizing enemies.
  • Earned rewards from the battle pass or quests are now highlighted upon returning to Elysium.
  • We’ve clarified the token and XP boost rewards in the battle pass.
  • Your health after reviving has been increased from 50 to 75 to give you a slightly better chance of getting away. To compensate, the window of invulnerability after reviving has been reduced from 1.5s to 1s. The invulnerability is intended to protect the player during the “getting back up” animation, but once you can start to move freely again you will be vulnerable to damage. We hope to find a more elegant solution in the future that allows us to get rid of the invulnerability completely.

Performance improvements

Optimizing performance remains a priority and will be an on-going effort. We have made a few improvements for this update:

  • Fixed an issue with our shader compilation process in DX12 – We identified a bug where our game would not compile all of the required shaders when running the game in DX12 mode for the first time. This caused the game to generate the missing shaders when it encountered them during gameplay, which in turn caused sudden and very noticeable performance dips. This has now been significantly improved, but you may still encounter intermittent hitches until all shaders have been compiled.
  • SSR, Volumetric Fog and SSS settings are now set correctly when changed in the graphical settings menu.
  • Audio threads have been optimized to take fewer CPU cycles.

Changes to the config files

As the game is in Early Access and we are still optimizing, it makes sense that we allow players to edit the parameters that we expose in our config file. However, a few of them have proven to give too much of an advantage, which circumvents how we want the game to be played, so you will no longer be able to toggle the following through the config files:

r.Fog

r.VolumetricFog

We believe that this will make the game fairer.

More stuff to do!

  • Six new quests have been added which are the following:
    • Welcome to Elysium
    • The Wrong Hands
    • Track Record
    • Missing Agent
    • Ashes to Ashes
    • A Spy in Prague
  • We still have some work to do on making it clear when someone has a quest to offer. In the meantime, be sure to talk to the NPCs in Elysium whenever you’re there to see if they have a task for you!
  • We added a bunch of extra daily challenges and have fine-tuned the existing ones based on player feedback and telemetry. Please let us know what you think!
  • In this update, we are experimenting with mutators that can shake up the experience by altering key parameters of the game. Examples are: speeding up the red gas, turning all loot locations high tier, remove Entity (but not their loot containers!), etc.
Active mutators are displayed on cards on the pre-match screens and in-game during the countdown and on the map.
  • Additionally, there are several new Journal unlocks and you might also spot some new spooky pumpkins as we get into the holiday season.

Balance changes

Blood Resonance

Bloodhunt Community Patch Update 0.6
  • Increased the chance of a civilian having resonant blood from 60% to 80% to make it easier to find the resonances you want.
  • Increased healing per second for the Sanguine resonance from 0.5/1.5/ 3 to 1/2/4 to make it more impactful.

Archetypes

Bloodhunt Community Patch Update 0.6

Nosferatu – Prowler

  • Scouting Famulus now has a max duration of 45s. This change shouldn’t affect Prowler players too much but reduces “bat clutter” later in a match.

Nosferatu – Saboteur

  • Sewer Bomb now has a max duration of 5 minutes. As with the Scouting Famulus change, this shouldn’t affect Saboteur players too much and just cleans up the miscellaneous sewer bombs scattered around the tunnels and breezeways of Prague in the late stages of a session.
  • Sewer Bomb initial damage has been increased from 10 to 20 to increase their effectiveness both as traps and offensive tools, such as tossing one and shooting it next to an enemy hiding in a bush.

Toreador

  • The max range you can travel from your projection without having it disappear will now only take horizontal distance into account, which should make it much more intuitive how far you can travel from it.

Toreador – Siren

  • Blinding Beauty slow effect has been reduced from 50% to 15%. Now that the blind effect is working more as intended, we felt the slowdown was a bit too punishing. This change makes it easier to react and evade when blinded.

Ranged Weapons

SMG

  • Decreased damage from 12 to 11. The SMG is still one of the highest damage weapons, but this change brings it a bit more in line with the rest of the arsenal.

LMG

  • Increased damage from 15 to 17. This change brings the weapon more in line with the Assault Rifle in terms of DPS but still with its unique pros and cons such as better sustained fire, larger magazine capacity, and worse initial accuracy.

Revolver

  • Increased damage from 45 to 50. The Revolver is meant to reward good aim at varied ranges but was a bit behind in DPS. This change lets you finish the job with one less shot on average.

Dual Pistols

  • Increased damage from 25 to 28 and decreased maximum fire rate from 7 to 6. A slight reduction in DPS but also a little less spammy, making it easier to place your shots accurately.

Toggler

  • Increased damage of primary fire mode from 25 to 26. This slight improvement should bring the Toggler more in line with the Assault Rifle.

Burst Rifle

  • Increased damage from 22 to 25 and also increased accuracy by reducing spread from previous shots. We understood why players weren’t really using this weapon much and hope these changes will make it more attractive.

Parts of this change unintentionally made it into the previous update, but this is now the fully intended adjustment.

Marksman Rifle

  • Vastly increased accuracy.
  • Reduced maximum fire rate from 6 to 5. We felt the rifle’s spread took too long to recover between shots, which worked against its intended role as a precision weapon. You should now be able to hit more consistently but with a slightly reduced rate of fire.

Crossbow

  • Reduced movement speed multiplier when aiming down sights from 0.8 to 0.6. This is not a balance change but rather a bug fix. All rifles and heavier weapons are meant to have a slower movement rate in ADS than single handed or lightweight weapons.

Melee Weapons

The rare melee weapons have felt a bit too weak compared to the higher rarity weapons, so we’ve bumped up their damage a bit. They’re still inferior to the Scourge Blades and Katana due to those weapons’ special abilities, but there was no good justification for giving them such low damage output.

  • Spike bat damage increased from 50 to 55.
  • Fire axe damage increased damage from 65 to 70.

That’s about it for the Bloodhunt Community Patch Update 0.6 patch notes.

  • 2.After shortening the enhancement time to the maximum, input the directional key to the right to add more Mechanic Tickets to boost the enhancement.
  • ⇒ The enhancement boost requires “14 Mechanic Tickets” for each enhancement value to be increased.
  • ■ Mechanic Ticket required for enhancement boost
  • In addition to the 14 tickets for shortening the enhancement time, the following tickets are required.
  • ・BOOSTx2(Total enhancement value+200)= +14 tickets(Total 28 tickets)
  • ・BOOSTx3(Total enhancement value+300)= +28 tickets(Total 42 tickets)
  • ・BOOSTx4(Total enhancement value+400)= +42 tickets(Total 56 tickets)
  • ・BOOSTx5(Total enhancement value+500)= +56 tickets(Total 70 tickets)
  • ・BOOSTx6(Total enhancement value+600)= +70 tickets(Total 84 tickets)
  • ・BOOSTx7(Total enhancement value+700)= +84 tickets(Total 98 tickets)
  • ・BOOSTx8(Total enhancement value+800)= +98 tickets(Total 112 tickets)
  • ・BOOSTx9(Total enhancement value+900)= +112 tickets(Total 126 tickets)
  • ・BOOSTx10(Total enhancement value+1000)= +126 tickets(Total 140 tickets)
  • ※If the enhancement is a “big success” or “super success”, the enhancement boost will be applied to the enhancement value increased by each success.
  • Example: If you have a “big success” with 1 enhancement boost used
  • The normal enhancement value of “100” is doubled to “200” with great success, and further doubled by the enhancement boost, for a total enhancement value of “400”.
  • ※Cannot apply a enhancement boost later to a MS in the process of enhancement.

■Adjustment
  • ◎Unit
  • ・The “Messala” has been adjusted because some of the objects on the map were causing the MS to get stuck.
  • ・”When using the sub-weapon “Shoulder Mega Particle Cannon x2” on the Messala when it was crouching, the motion would be canceled and it would go into a standing position.
  • ・In the “Messala”, the text describing the sub-weapon “Shoulder Mega Particle Cannon x2” has been corrected, as it appeared to cause explosions even when firing normally.
  • Before modification: It is also constrained to beam explosions during normal and focused fire.
  • Fixed: Constraint on hit, constricting explosion on focused fire.
  • ・As the performance of the shooting main weapon “GP02A Beam Bazooka” was changed in the adjustment of the “Gundam GP02 [BB]” on September 30, 2021 (Thursday), the text describing the weapon has been revised.
  • Before modification: High power and charging ability, but prone to overheating and difficult to operate.
  • Fix: Capable of restraining normal fire and focusing fire that increases the restraining power when hit.
  • ・Fixed a problem in which the Byarlant Custom’s back was no longer being destroyed by the skill “Back Binder Special Cushioning”.
  • ◎Battle
  • ・Fixed a case where the sound effect when switching weapons would not play normally when switching between weapons with different switching motions at specific times.
  • ・Fixed a rare case where the destroyed pilot was not shown when the other unit “Type 61 Tank” was destroyed while boarding.
  • ・Fixed a case where MS and weapon effects would not be displayed during battle.
  • ・Fixed a case in which the enemy AI would repeatedly behave unnaturally when moving over the carrier in the “Military Port” while “Training”.

  • ・Fixed a case in which an enemy MS would tackle an weapon without a counter judgment, such as the “Heat Rod”, during a mission.
  • ◎Others
