GTA Online, Max Payne 3, LA Noire Ending Online Services Later This Year on PS3 & Xbox 360

If you play GTA Online on PS3 and/or Xbox 360, we have some bad news for you today. Rockstar has announced that GTA Online, Max Payne 3, and LA Noire will have their online services (multiplayer, website and stat tracking) shut down later this year!

Here’s what got shared by Rockstar today regarding each title:

GTA Online on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360

  • September 16, 2021
    • PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Shark Cards for GTA Online no longer sold.
  • December 16, 2021
    • GTA Online services for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, including website stat tracking via the Rockstar Games Social Club no longer available.
    • GTAV Story Mode for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 not impacted.

L.A. Noire on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360

  • September 16, 2021
    • Online services for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, including website stat tracking via the Rockstar Games Social Club no longer available.
    • L.A. Noire Story Mode for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 not impacted.

Max Payne 3 on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360

  • September 16, 2021
    • Online services for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions, including website stat tracking via the Rockstar Games Social Club no longer available.
    • Max Payne 3 Story Mode for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 not impacted.

Those curious about transferring GTA Online data from PS3 to PS4 or PS5, sadly, that’s not available. There is no refund option available for Shark Card purchases as well.

Will I be able to transfer my progress from GTA Online on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 to current console generations before it is shut down on December 16, 2021?

No, this is not possible. There is no feature available to transfer character data or progress from those platforms. All website stat tracking for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 via the Rockstar Games Social Club will also be removed.

Can I get a refund for Shark Card purchases for GTA Online on PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 or transfer the balance to current console generations?

Virtual currency and virtual goods purchases are platform-specific and cannot be refunded or transferred. Please see our End User License Agreement for additional details.

Bear in mind, this does not affect each game’s story mode, so there’s at least that. However, this news still blows for how many people still playing the game.

Black Desert Update 1.85 Patch Notes for June 16

Pearl Abyss has released the Black Desert update 1.85 June 16 patch, that brings Central Market Place changes. This title update is out now on consoles after today’s maintenance, with the complete patch notes listed below.

Black Desert Update 1.85 Patch Notes for June 16:

System

● The standard for how weapons of the same group change prices has been modified as follows:

※ For weapons that share the same group, if there is a pre-order of a weapon of the same group listed at a higher price, then you cannot sell a weapon of the same group at a price lower than this pre-order price.

Before After
Adjusted to the weapon with the highest deviation between its Market Price and Set Price. Adjusted to the Average Price trends of the same weapon type.

The rules regarding how prices adjust in the Central Market have been changed. Currently, weapons are considered as a single item (group) regardless of class. But even after the update on April 28th, there was an issue where the market price could change drastically if the prices of certain weapons increased compared to the standard price. As a result, we’ve changed how prices for the same weapon fluctuate by making the price vary depending on the amount traded so that the price for the same weapon does not change according to specific transactions. Furthermore, for items with a high value (price of 20 billion silver or the items listed below) at the current standard (as of June 16th), we’ve changed the said items to appear 15 minutes after being listed on the Central Market and for a World message to appear at the same time. (If said item has a pre-order, a separate notification will appear. The wait time for the items takes around 15 minutes.)

● Added a delay of approximately 15 minutes when listing certain items and all items with a set price of 20,000,000,000 Silver or higher on the Central Market before they become available for purchase.

– Once certain items, including those with a set price of 20 billion silver or higher are queued to be listed, all Adventurers will be alerted by a notification displayed on the upper middle of the screen.

– To ensure a safer exchange, orders for certain items (including those with a set price of 20 billion silver or higher) placed by (waiting) adventurers at the same price, but not necessarily at Max Price, will be carried out not by a first-come basis but in a random order.

– If the item failed to be listed, the item will be returned to your Central Market Warehouse.

– You will need to wait approximately 1 minute before you are able to relist an item that failed to register after the 15 minute wait time.

– If an item you placed a pre-order for is placed in the queue, you will see a UI displayed on the bottom right hand part of your screen displaying the relevant item name and listed time.

– Once the queued time is over, the item’s transaction will be carried out just as before.

– You can only register 1 item with the same name and enhancement level at a time.

– The aformentioned rules will apply to the following items even if their set price is not at 20,000,000,000 Silver or higher.

Battlefield 2042 AI Soldiers Will Be Used to Fill 128-Player Matches, Hazard Zone Not Battle Royale

In case you didn’t know, DICE is aiming for the moon with Battlefield 2042 by featuring 128-player matches, which is a big jump from the franchise’s 64-player matches from past iterations of the franchise. Given the sheer amount of people needed to fill one match, DICE has a solution so that matches start right away, and will always be full of action, and that’s with AI soldiers!

During today’s Battlefield 2042 Briefing devstream, DICE GM Oskar Oskar Gabrielson and Design Director Daniel Berlin talked about it, and mentioned how AI can fill up the slots of players who leave servers, or so that servers can start without needing to fill all 128 player slots. In addition to that, DICE also confirmed that players can start matches with AI teammates and enemies in order to get some practice in as well, and to study the maps.

The EA Answers page for Battlefield 2042 has been updated today to reflect this as well:

Also new is the introduction of AI Soldiers (Artificial Intelligence) to the series. As a multiplayer-only experience, it’s important for us to let you play Battlefield 2042 when and how you want. Here is what that looks like in the All-Out Warfare experience of Conquest and Breakthrough:

  • Multiplayer – AI soldiers are used for server-filling capabilities, ensuring your matches remain full, no matter your location.

  • Co-Op – Allows you to play together with friends, against AI soldiers.

  • Solo – If you wish to perfect your skills for multiplayer, you can even play alone against AI soldiers.

In the same devstream, DICE talked about one of the new modes it’s introducing to BF 2042, and that’s called “Hazard Zone.” While the mode will focus on squads, DICE has confirmed that it not a battle royale mode. There’s a new screenshot released for it too.

Per the press release sent on the day of the game’s reveal, EA described Hazard Zone as: “An all-new, high-stakes, squad-based game-type for the Battlefield franchise that is a modern take on the multiplayer experience that is distinctly DICE but very different from All-Out Warfare’s Conquest or Breakthrough modes.”

What are your thoughts on AI soldiers being used to in order to ensure servers are full? Personally, I want to see it in action for myself before passing judgement, as this could work out well, or be a disaster if the AI’s are too good, or too dumb.

Should DICE also offer  “human-only” 64-player matches as well? Let us know your thoughts below.

Battlefield 2042 Specialists Can Equip All Weapons; DICE Aware of RPG Spam

In case you didn’t know, one of the biggest changes to Battlefield 2042 is the introduction of Specialists. These Specialists will have an exclusive gadget on their own that makes them unique, and which will give players more freedom than being locked to just one specific class (like in past games). When it comes to weapons, DICE has confirmed that Specialists can equip any weapon type that they wish.

If you want to be a medic but use a sniper rifle? Yeah, you can do that. It looks like these applies to launchers as well. In a behind-the-scenes dev chat about Battlefield 2042, DICE has confirmed that every Specialist will be able to equip RPGs! While that might sound good in the sense that every player can now have access to anti-vehicle weapony, that simple change can lead to abuse. Imagine if all 128 players in a single match equipped RPGs! That meant that every vehicle would be shot out of the ground (and sky!) within seconds!

In the devstream’s Twitch chat, someone voiced this exact concern with EA Community Manager Kevin Johnson (T0TALfps) mentioning that DICE is aware of this little snag in their plans, and that players shouldn’t be concerned, as more details will be shared soon.

Will they make vehicles take a load of hits before they are taken out? I don’t see that being balanced, but whatever DICE has planned, let’s hope it actually works, as I don’t think everyone carrying launchers and firing it everywhere will be fun for those driving vehicles in Battlefield 2042.

In the same stream, DICE mentioned how it took them over three years to develop the game’s weather and levolution tech.

Back 4 Blood Paid DLC Only Requires Party Leader to Own It for Full Squad to Play

It’s never fun when players can’t play together due to one gamer owning an expansion pack that the rest doesn’t, right? Thankfully, Turtle Rock Studios is aware of this, as Back 4 Blood paid DLC won’t require that everyone own the “paid content drop,” with only the party leader needing to own it in order for the entire team to experience it as well.

This was revealed by the studio in a new post on the official Back 4 Blood website.

IN PVE, IF YOUR PARTY LEADER OWNS A PAID CONTENT DROP, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO PLAY THAT CONTENT WITH THEM — INCLUDING MAPS, GAMEPLAY AND CAMPAIGN.

No separation. No exclusion. No split.

Given that the game will feature PvP, those worried about “pay-to-win” scenarios, don’t, as the studio assured everyone will be on even footing when it comes to Cards, Ridden and the like.

Now, you might be thinking, “It’s cool you aren’t splitting the community, Turtle Rock, but if you’re selling content drops, how will PvP not be pay-to-win?”

IN PVP, EVERYONE WHO BOUGHT BACK 4 BLOOD CAN GET ACCESS TO ALL ADDITIONAL PVP CONTENT, EVEN WITHOUT PURCHASING CONTENT DROPS. PLAYERS WHO DON’T BUY THE CONTENT DROPS CAN EARN NEW PLAYABLE CHARACTERS AND RIDDEN IN PVP, FOR FREE, THROUGH PROGRESSION. ADDITIONALLY, ALL PVP PLAYERS HAVE ACCESS TO THE SAME CARDS AT THE START OF EACH MATCH, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THOSE PLAYERS HAVE PURCHASED CONTENT DROPS OR NOT.

Speaking of PvP, check out the latest gameplay about it right here.

Back 4 Blood will infest the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC this October 12.

Instinction Dinosaur List, Customization, Biomes, and More Revealed

Following the reveal of Hashbane Dino-survivor game, Instinction, more details about the game has been revealed, including a full current list of dinosaurs and animations, along with details about the weapon customization and more!

The official Instinction website has finally gone live, revealing new details about this co-op Dino-survivor game along with some fresh new screenshots.

Instinction Screenshots

Instinction Dinosaur and Animal List

Note, this isn’t a final list but the current one of all the Dinosaurs and animals in the game right now. Hashbane is looking for community suggestions, so if there is a Dinosaur or animal not currently on this list, be sure to ask them on Twitter!

  • Acrocanthosaurus
  • Apatosaurus
  • Argentinosaurus
  • Carcharodontosaurus
  • Carnotaurus
  • Ceoplophysis
  • Ceolocanth/Mawsonia
  • Diabloceratops
  • Deinotherium
  • Deinonychus
  • Dinornithiformes
  • Homo Floresiensis
  • Kronosaurus
  • Mapusaurus
  • Sarchosucus
  • Smilodon
  • Spinosaurus
  • Stegosaurus
  • Tarbosaurus
  • Temnodontosaurus
  • Thalassodromeus
  • Triceratops
  • Tyrannosaurus.

Weapons

A complete list of weapons will be available at a later date, and although the team states they aren’t legally allowed to name weapons based on weapon manufacturers, they did hint that players would be able to do just that if they would like.

Multiple weapons, attachments and other advantageous pick-ups throughout the game, some may benefit you. Use your weapons and ammo wisely, this is not unlimited ammo, nor are there skint resources, your decisions will affect the likelihood of you completing your missions. Change your weapons and attachments on the fly, while in combat, you’ll make good use of bullet time during weapon changes. We aren’t just talking about customisable attachments and skins, you can rename your weapon, and your changes will reflect in-game, perhaps we aren’t legally obliged to use certain weapon manufacturers names, well you can change them if you like, so go wild!

There is even a screenshot on their website of the Kriss Vector, giving us a sneak peak at possible the customization menu.

Biomes

One of the more exciting reveals here is that there seems to be some sort of dynamic weather in the Instinction. We will learn more on that later.

Explore multiple locations, from forests to research facilities, cenotes and lakes.

These aren’t just beautiful landscapes, these are treacherous ones, we don’t expect you to survive, but you don’t have a choice, you owe it to us. Changing weather conditions, trenched terrain, gorgeous views. There are deep cavernous waters to explore, depending on what you’ve acquired you might have to hold your breath or can relax on a ventilator. P.S Never relax, you won’t be exploring for very long until you run into something scary!

Combat and Exploration

There will be dinosaurs that are “friendly,” though the team stresses that you should always be on your toe as danger is always lurking.

Not all dinosaurs need to die, aren’t they already extinct, but somehow you are here, with them.

You’ll be attacked, you’ll most likely be killed, wild beasts are not meant to be your friends, ironically some will be. For the most part, you’ll need to survive through combat and using your brain, not all beasts are foes, some may appear to be nice. Play smart, complete your objectives, perhaps consider a side mission, you’re in control, lets hope!

Customization

In addition to character customization, the team is offering a number of game options. They are looking at feedback for more suggestions.

Customization is a privilege in the game world, but developers want it as much as gamers.

It’s time consuming especially when deadlines to release a game are near, so it’s often cut from the final release, or dismissed early on. What we have gathered from the seemingly small community we garnered early on is the option for customization is important to the majority of gamers. Instinction offers character and weapon customization, beyond that we are working on customizable HUDs and colors, your control over subtitles(position, size, color and language). As with anything we do, we want your feedback on what you’d like to be customizable, for us it’s not just a first come first serve offering, it’s about the ratios!

Instinction is currently planned to release sometimes in 2022 for the PC, PS4/5, XBOX 1/S/X. There are plans to release also on the Stadia & Nintendo Switch. Check out our interview with the devs earlier this year to know more about their inspiration for the game.

The Medium PS5 Release Date Set for Sept. Alongside Xbox Series Physical Version, New Screenshots Released

Some big news for fans of phycological horror, as today it was announced by Bloober Team has announced The Medium PS5 release date and it’s set for Sept. 3, 2021!

Previously a timed-exclusive to the Xbox Series, PlayStation fans will be able to enjoy the latest from Bloober Team starting September, and while no details have been provided as to what has been enhanced outside of the added DualSense controller support, the team did drop a nice little trailer to show off this announcement.

The Medium PS5 Reveal Trailer

PS5 Screenshots:

About The Medium:

The Medium is a third-person psychological horror game that features innovative dual-reality gameplay. Players assume the role of Marianne, a medium gifted with several psychic abilities, as she explores the real and spirit world both separately and simultaneously to uncover a dark mystery masked by disturbing secrets, sinister spirits, and devious puzzles only a medium can solve.

Developed and published by Bloober Team and rated M for Mature, The Medium is Bloober Team’s largest and most ambitious project to date; with no loading screens and utilizing the full potential of the latest version of the Unreal Engine 4.

Akira Yamaoka, known for his work on the Silent Hill series, and Bloober Team’s Arkadiusz Reikowski collaborated on the game’s original ‘dual’ score, creating truly unique atmospheres across both worlds.

The Medium will also be receiving a physical release on both the PS5 and Xbox Series Console. While it had previously been available on the Xbox Series, the only way you could purchase it was via the digital storefront. This has now changed, with it launching the same day as the PS5 version.

I had reviewed the game myself, which I had nothing but praise outside of the technical issues. Here’s hoping the PS5 release has been better optimized, but nonetheless I highly recommend anyone who hasn’t played it yet to give it a try.

Battlefield 2042: Frostbite Engine Worked on for Over 3 Years for Weather & Levolution System Tech

With this week’s Battlefield 2042 gameplay reveal, possibly one of the biggest things revealed is how the game seems to have match-altering weather effects in the game. I’m not talking about the storm in Battlefield 4’s Paracel Storm map that obscured vision, but in the gameplay reveal, we saw an actual sandstorm come into the map, and just decimate everything in its path!

In a devstream conducted earlier today by DICE, the studio, DICE GM Oskar Gabrielson mentioned how the DICE spent over three years in developing the weather and Levolution tech that the game employs. One developer mentioned how it would be cool to have a tornado appear in the stage and just tear everything apart. After a year, the tech team at DICE showed off a prototype of it, with some devs within the studio assuming that it was pre-rendered and couldn’t believe it was the real real (ie. an actual tornado in the map).

Of course, we haven’t seen to what extent this new weather and Levolution mechanic will change the game’s maps once it does appear in a map. Mind, DICE has confirmed that these weather effects are not linear, so some might appear in a different area of the map in another map, while it might not show up at all in some.

We’re just getting started on our Battlefield 2042 coverage! Make sure you bookmark our BF 2042 game hub, as we’ll be posting a ton of news, impressions and more on the shooter.

Cyberpunk 2077 Returning to PSN on June 21, Sony Warns Gamers Should Still “Expect Issues”

For those on PlayStation platforms, Cyberpunk 2077 has not been available for quite some time on Sony’s digital storefront the PlayStaiton Store. It seems that will be changing soon, as CD Projekt RED has announced that the game will be available on the PSN Store this June 21!

Here’s what CD Projekt RED had to say about it:

In relation to Current Report no. 66/2020 of 18 December 2020, the Management Board of CD PROJEKT S.A. with a registered office in Warsaw hereby publicly discloses the decision by Sony Interactive Entertainment to reinstate the availability of the digital edition of Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation Store, effective on 21 June 2021.

While that in itself might be good news for most people who want to play CDPR’s latest title, Sony themselves is not that confident that the game is bug-free, as the latest statement by a Sony PR rep (via Axios) has mentioned that gamers should still “expect” some “issues” with the game. and recommends playing it on the PS4 Pro.

A Sony PlayStation rep tells Axios that players should still expect to experience some issues with the game: “Users will continue to experience performance issues with the PS4 edition while CD Projekt Red continues to improve stability across all platforms. [PlayStation management] recommends playing the title on PS4 Pro or PS5 for the best experience.”

Hopefully, CDPR patches some of the other game-breaking bugs so that players can experience the game as intended by the developers.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Next DLC Fighter Is Tekken’s Kazuya Mishima

Prepare to hit some Electric Wind Godfists in the world of Smash, as Tekken’s Kazuya Mishima is the next DLC fighter coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate!

Here’s the reveal trailer that appeared at this year’s Nintendo Direct at E3!

If you have no idea who Kazuya is, here’s a character overview of this longtime mainstay of the Tekken series since the first game.

Once thought to be dead after being thrown off of a cliff by his father Heihachi, Kazuya is one of the most feared fighters of the Tekken tournament. As the son of Heihachi Mishima, Kazuya uses his family’s style of marital arts (Mishima style). He had a “casual” relationship with Jun Kazama and they had a son, Jin. Kazuya has a long time standing rivalry between his father, Heihachi. He is also the master of the famous “Electric Wind Godfist.” Devil is his alter-ego, when the devil gene consumes him.

With Kazuya added as a representative of the Tekken series, he brawls with the likes of Ryu and Ken from the Street Fighter series and Terry Bogard from the King of Fighters and Fatal Fury series! This just makes the diversity and character roster of Super Smash Bros Ultimate all the more appealing to fighting game fans from all walks of life. We’ll be getting more news about him soon this June 28 when Nintendo reveals more information with another direct presentation!

Kazuya is coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate but he’s currently active in Tekken 7, which just got its latest update a few weeks ago and you can read about it here.

Battlefield 2042 Map Comparison From Past Battlefields Revealed, Different Time Concepts Explored

With Battlefield 2042 confirmed to feature 128-player battles, that must mean that the maps are way bigger than anything we’ve ever seen in past Battlefield games, right? As it turns out, that’s quite an understatement, as DICE has given a Battlefield 2042 map comparison to past titles in the franchise, and the size differences are just massive!

During today’s first Battlefield Briefing devstream, DICE Design Director Daniel Berlin! and other devs shared an image of a quick comparison image of BF 2042’s maps compared to other large maps in the franchise. You thought Caspian Border was big? Yeah, it’s about 30-40 percent smaller compared to Manifest!

DICE also shared another comparison image, and this one was for Breakaway, which dwarfed Battlefield 1942’s El Alamein!

In the same devstream, DICE also revealed that the studio discussed other timelines before deciding on the near-future one we got in 2042! DICE shared that they looked at 12 different concepts for Battlefield 2021, and looked at concepts in history in the past, into the far future before deciding to go with near-future that is what we have now.

Speaking of maps, go check out the info on all seven maps coming at launch!

Stay tuned, as while we didn’t get any new gameplay, there were a lot more info shared in today’s stream.
