Dota-Inspired Rocket League “Rocket Pass” Announced

The Rocket League Rocket Pass has been announced, bringing free and premium challenges for players to complete. Developer Psyonix says that it was inspired by a similar mechanic found in Dota, though there’s the obvious connection to the Fortnite Battle Pass, too. Regardless, it should give players more to do in the game, which is never a bad thing!

Here’s what’s planned for the Rocket League Rocket Pass:

Rocket League Rocket Pass Details

Alongside the XP and leveling updates, we’ve also been working on a new system to give you new ways to earn items and make progress while playing Rocket League.

Our “Rocket Pass” system consists of multiple Tiers of earnable content. You increase your Tier by leveling up normally and you’ll unlock new, unique content as you go. Each “Rocket Pass” will last for a few months before it’s retired and a new Pass will take its place with new content to unlock.

The “Rocket Pass” has both Free and Premium tracks so everybody has something to work for. The Free track contains new cosmetic items as well as Decryptors and exclusive in-game Titles, while the Premium track will have a flat cost to unlock. You will be able to preview Premium track content before you buy the unlock to access it.

We are still developing the “Rocket Pass” system and we’ll have more details to share as we get closer to launch!

Will you be picking up the Rocket League Rocket Pass? Let us know!

For the full details on upcoming Rocket League content and updates, check out the subreddit post here.

Fortnite Thanos Gets Tweaked Again, More Power but Less Health

Not even Fortnite Thanos can escape the balancing, it seems! Epic Games has tweaked the mad titan, yet again, this time with a buff to the damage he outputs and also a nerf to his health. The developer detailed the changes over on the game’s official subreddit.

Fortnite Thanos Changes (Nerf and Buff)

Earlier today we pushed a fix live for the loot drops:

  • Fixed floor loot drops to correctly only spawn Rare, Epic and Legendary quality weapons within the Infinity Gauntlet LTM.

We’ve just pushed additional adjustments to Thanos and the Limited Time Mashup. Our goal is to allow more folks to truly experience the power of Thanos, while also making you feel powerful when wielding the gauntlet.

Thanos Changes

  • Increased Beam from 12 to 20 damage on players.
  • Increased Punch damage from 80 to 100.
  • Decreased health from 800 to 500.

General Mode Changes

  • Reduced height of the Bus when dropping
  • Bigger initial storm circle
  • Less storm damage early game (first 3 storms from 5%/5%/10% per tick to 1%/2.5%/5%)
  • Initial Gauntlet spawn time changed from bus ride plus 30-45s to bus ride plus 120-135s
  • Increased spawn rate of Med Kits, Chug Jugs and Big Shields.
  • Removed spawn of Bandages and Slurp Juice.

Have you tried the Fortnite Infinity Gauntlet mode? If so, let us know your thoughts on it!

In other Fortnite news, the 4.1 update implemented an Infinity Gauntlet limited time mode, the week 2 challenges have been unleashed upon Battle Pass owners, and a datamine revealed new skins and emotes.

Black Ops 4 Zombies Image Teases Secret Code

Well, of course a Black Ops 4 Zombies mode is happening! It wouldn’t be a Treyarch-developed Call of Duty game without an undead horde mode! Confirming the obvious, Treyarch tweeted out an image accompanied by a “#Zombies” hashtag. The image shows a creepy back-from-the-dead dude putting on (or removing) a mask.

At first, it’s the character that draws our attention. However, looking around the image reveals some mysterious symbols, which obviously have some kind of hidden meaning.

Spooky stuff, right?!

As the Call of Duty community works together to try and decipher these symbols’ meaning, we’ll be counting down the days until the Black Ops 4 May 17 reveal event! Hopefully we’ll get to see the zombies mode in action, and maybe some multiplayer, too!

What do you make of the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Zombies mode image? Excited for another iteration of wave-based, zombie-killing action? Let us know in the comments down below, and stay tuned for more Black Ops 4 news coming very soon!

Battlefront 2 Han Solo DLC Detailed, Free Content Coming May 16

The Battlefront 2 Han Solo DLC is set to release on May 16, and we now have more details about the expansion’s content. Read on for the full description of what players will be getting for free!

Revisit Jabba’s Palace

What happens when you don’t pay a Hutt on time? You end up as an accent piece in his throne room… a lesson Han Solo learned the hard way. This month, fans of Star Wars Battlefront can revisit Jabba’s Palace in Star Wars Battlefront II as part of The Han Solo Season. Available in Blast, Hero Showdown, or Heroes vs. Villains, players can iron out their differences in the twists and turns of Jabba’s abode.

Dress for the Job

We figure if we’re sending you all the way to Tatooine, you might as well dress for the part. Don new appearances — available for Credits or Crystals — inspired by the opening act of “Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi,” with Lando Calrissian looking scruffy in his Skiff Guard disguise and Leia Organa donning the bounty hunter Boushh’s gear and featuring brand-new voice-over.

New Mode: Hero Showdown

Han Solo’s rarely seen without the mighty Chewbacca at his side, and in Hero Showdown — a new, round-based elimination mode in The Han Solo Season — you’ll take your favorite pairings into two-on-two Heroes vs. Villains battles. Han Solo and Chewbacca vs. Boba Fett and Bossk? Yoda and Rey vs. Vader and Captain Phasma? That’s up to you, but once a round is won, you must pick another duo for the next round. Bring out your wits and tactics for this one.

Introducing Starfighter Custom Arcade

No need to fly casual; you’ve asked for it, and we’re excited to add Starfighter Custom Arcade to Star Wars Battlefront II. You’ll be able to hone your skills in the cockpit with starfighters from all eras, whether you’re aiming to turn Rebellion X-wings into stardust with your TIE/LN or hop into the Millennium Falcon to fly circles around enemy starfighters.

Changed some area names.

Map changes

We’ve added four new areas. We’ve also made various improvements to areas throughout Sanhok.

Bug Fixes
  • Blood effects should now appear as intended
  • Certain FPS drop issues and sound issues have been resolved
  • Fixed an issue causing the “aim punch” effect to be too noticeable.
  • Certain invisible objects in buildings have been removed
  • The minimap now shows areas 200 meters away (instead of 100m)
    Known Issues (Investigating)
  • Sometimes in FPP, if the player was vaulting at the time when the game starts, the player doesn’t get on board in the plane and instead flies straight to the final destination of the plane. (Yes, still)
  • When using the Death Cam, sometimes players disappear or weapons become invisible.
  • Sometimes in spectate mode or Death Cam, scopes are visible, but scope mesh isn’t.
  • Sometimes other players appear as zombies.
  • Sometimes the bluezone indicator on the minimap gets temporarily out of sync.

In other PUBG news, the new Savage map was recently tested on the Closed Experimental Server, an argument as to whether PUBG is pay to win has been brought up again, and it’s been found that 30% of all PC gamers are playing battle royale titles.
