Rumor – See Titanfall’s Achievement List

NeoGAF user sangreal has posted what appears to be Titanfall‘s Xbox One achievement list.

The list happens to fall in line with previous reports of Titanfall’s Prestige-like “Generations” ranking system. One achievement in particular asks you to “reach level 50”, while another challenges you to “reach the highest Pilot generation”.

It’s not entirely clear if the same list will apply to the Xbox 360 version of Titanfall. Nevertheless, you can check out the rumored “cheevos” below. Worry not, as it appears to be spoiler free.

Titanfall Xbox One Achievements

Screen-Shot-2014-02-21-at-12.50.11-PM-e1393016152331

In addition, sangreal lists Titanfall’s first challenge, allegedly called “Early Adopter”, that asks players to “Reach level 50 before the end of March 2014”.

Lastly, original leaker RazorUK has added that, in order to meet the requirements to “regenerate”, players will not only need to reach the maximum rank of 50, but also complete specific Generation challenges.

PvZ: Garden Warfare – No Micro-DLC At Launch, Producer Responds to Negative EA/BF4 Stigma

PopCap Games’ quirky third-person shooter Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare won’t launch with micro-transactions, according to producer, Brian Lindley,

Speaking with Gamespot during a recent press event, Lindley stated “we’re not going to have any microtransactions at all at launch.” However, that can change after the game launches, as PopCap will be monitoring the in-game metrics and player feedback to determine how to best move forward.

Luckily, for those who despise micro-transactions, Garden Warfare won’t turn into a pay-to-win title, as everything in the game is purchasable through coins. If however, they are implemented sometime in the near future, certain in-game items will only be obtainable by the coins you’ve earned. A player on average can earn about 18,000 coins per hour, as we reported previously.

Additionally, in response to the stigma surrounding EA and its handling of Sim City and Battlefield 4’s rather shaky launch, Lindley stated the following about Garden Warfare’s online service:

“We’ve tested extensively; a lot of stress testing and…make sure everything is buttoned up and ready for launch as much as possible, so it really just comes down to preparation. Obviously, we cannot predict what’s going to happen once a product is live, but [we’ve been] very diligent testing and making sure that when we launch, that’s as smooth as possible. If there are any bumps we’re going to dig into those as soon as possible.”

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare launches for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One February 25 for $29.99 and $39.99 respectively.

Rumor – Titanfall Prestige Mode Discovered, Called “Generations”

Over the course of a week, Titanfall has gone from a faithless and skeptical project, to one of the most hyped and anticipated games of 2014, thanks to its Xbox One and PC beta that closed only yesterday.

And while Titanfall builds off an exciting and winning formula from first person shooters like Call of Duty, recent rumors indicate its becoming more and more of a spiritual successor to the famed franchise than ever before.

According to RazorUK’s code fishing findings on NeoGAF, it seems that a version of the classic prestige mode from Call of Duty has been discovered in Titanfall, but is rebranded as “Generations”. The idea and lore behind it being that your pilot wears out over time, becoming increasingly rusty on the field of battle. After reaching the maximum level of 50, according to the poster, you can regenerate into a new body that is “better, sharper, acquiring experience even faster than beforebefore” for a price. That price however, is the reset of all your unlocks, challenges, and rank.

There are allegedly 10 generations to work through, each with their own rank images, which you can view through this link.

What are your thoughts on this rumor? Do you like the idea of Titanfall having a Prestige-like feature? Let us know in the comment section below!

Titanfall Gets a ‘Performance Boost’ on Xbox One Since Beta, 360 Version ‘Coming Along Really Well,’

Things are looking up for Titanfall.

After a successful beta that has everyone talking about the game, anxious fans awaiting its full release on the Xbox One have a few “under-the-hood performance improvements” to look forward to, according to members of the game’s development team.

On NeoGAF, Software Engineer Rayme Vinson explained that work on the Xbox One version of Titanfall has been fruitful since the close of last week’s beta.

“Lots of under-the-hood performance improvements have already been done since this Beta build was locked down, that’ll be in the full release,” he said. “The Beta itself is informing further improvements (and bugfixes, of course).”

Producer Drew McCoy added that so too is progress on the Xbox 360 version “coming along really well”, a version we still have yet to see in action.

“Oh, and for all the speculation going on about the 360 version. Its coming along really well, Bluepoint is full of phenomenally talented devs,” he stated. “We (being Respawn) have been pushing for them to have all the time they need to make it as good as possible, which means extra time for them to polish it up. We’d all like it to be day and date, but a better game a few weeks later is better than an unfinished one earlier.”

What were your thoughts on the Titanfall beta? Does it live up to the hype?

Titanfall launches on the Xbox One and PC March 11, and the Xbox 360 March 25

Thanks, DualShockers.

Dark Souls 2 – Hollow Lullaby Trailer

While a bit over the top with the voice-over, this new Dark Souls 2 trailer seeps out the memories of old for those who played the first game, reminding them of every bit of struggle one might have endured.

The trailer doesn’t really show much in terms of new gameplay, seeing that besides the ending bit, it’s basically made from footage of the first game. That said, it does a decent job of pep talking you into facing the challenges you’ll face in Dark Souls 2 alone or with friends.

Check out the new trailer above.

Dark Souls 2 is set to launch March 14th on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, while the PC version’s release date is set to be announced “very soon”.

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls Expansion Will Introduce New Social Features

“Clans” and “Communities” are coming to Diablo 3 with the impending launch of Reaper of Souls, the game’s first expansion.

Both features will provide the Diablo 3 community with tools to better find and communicate with each other. Both are currently available in Patch 2.0.1 PTR and the Reaper of Souls Closed Beta, but are still in development.

According to Blizzard’s latest blog entry, Clans are “designed to provide players who share similar interests, gameplay schedules, or goals the ability to band together and form tight-knit groups. They’re a great way to communicate with numerous friends at once, organize your play, and generally just keep in touch with those you game with the most.”

Clans are limited to 120 players and are invite only, though requests can be sent to Clan leaders. Players can also only be a member of one Clan at a time.

Communities, on the other hand, “designed to be a place where players can come together for any number of reasons, including playing the same class, frequenting the same fan sites, or living in the same geographical area. They’re all about fostering relationships between like-minded people, with a keen focus on socialization.”

Communities are meant to facilitate a larger and more casual social experience that can be either private or public. It’s also possible to be a member of multiple Communities at once.

To get all the specific details on Clans and Communities and to learn how they work, be sure to head on over to the official Diablo 3 blog.

Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls launches on PC and Mac this March 25.

Bleszinski’s Next Shooter To Be Community-Powered

Cliff Bleszinski’s next game, which we last heard him saying was going to be a “proper arena shooter” for the PC, is going to be built with the gaming community in mind.

It sounds easier said than done, but speaking to Gamasutra, Bleszinski said he wants to build his next experience on a platform that better facilitates interaction between gamer and developer.

“PC is where I’m going to wind up. That’s where the community is,” he said. “The trend will always be the core. If I start a studio, I want a community manager there day one. I want weekly video or podcasts; I want task lists available on the subreddit.”

Using Facepunch Studios’ open-world survival game, Rust, as an example, Bleszinki says that “your game is as good as how many YouTube videos it can yield.”

“Get the game out there and build it. Some kid will put out a video. Players will teach each other. You don’t need the ‘press A to jump.'”

By the sounds of it, Bleszinski isn’t planning ramping things up until the ‘timing’ and ‘funding’ is right. Until then, we’ll have to hang tight until we learn more about his next project.

What’s your take on Bleszinki’s more community-oriented approach to game development?

Thanks, Polygon.
