WWE 2K24 Season Pass and Roadmap Revealed – CM Punk, Jade Cargill, Post Malone, and Many More

Visual Concepts is going big this year with WWE 2K24, as they’ve just revealed the full Season Pass, detailing every wrestler being added post-launch and when exactly you can expect them to arrive.

This year’s WWE 2K24 seems to be having quite the surprise post-launch DLC, as not only will we be getting several legendary Hall of Famers, but we’ll also be getting some recently returning Superstars, such as CM Punk, Pat McAfee, and Nia Jax, along with some new faces like Jade Cargill and Post Malone (yes, the musician).

Considering that CM Punk returned to the company back in November of 2023, and Jade Cargill made her debut just last month, this is rather surprising to see as typically WWE 2K DLC revolves around wrestlers who’ve been in the company the years prior, not recently. And for some of these wrestlers, you won’t even have to wait that long, as CM Punk is arriving in May, with many others arriving in the months after.

A full roadmap of the WWE 2K24 season pass can be found below.

WWE 2K24 Season Pass and Roadmap:

DLC 1: ECW Punk Pack – May 15th

  • CM Punk
  • Bubba Ray Dudley
  • D-Von Dudley
  • Sandman
  • Terry Funk
  • MyFACTION Content:
  • ECW Paul Heyman Manager Card
  • Superstar Cards

DLC 2: Post Malone & Friends Pack – June 26

  • Post Malone
  • Sensational Sherri
  • Mosh
  • Thrasher
  • Honky Tonk Man
  • Jimmy Hart Manager
  • MyFACTION Content:
  • Superstar Cards

DLC 3: Pat McAfee Pack – July 24

  • Pat McAfee
  • Playable co-hosts – stay tuned for more info!
  • MyFACTION Content:
  • Co-Host Manager Cards – stay tuned for more info!
  • Superstar Cards

DLC 4: Global Superstars Pack – Sep 20

  • Jade Cargill
  • Nia Jax
  • Michelle McCool
  • Carlito
  • Kairi Sane
  • Lyra Valkyria
  • Dragon Lee
  • MyFACTION Content:
  • Superstar Cards

DLC 5: WCW Pack – Nov 13

  • Diamond Dallas Page
  • Iron Sheik
  • Mr. Perfect
  • Great Muta
  • Lex Luger
  • MyFACTION Content:
  • Superstar Cards

All I can say is that this is a great lineup of wrestlers being planned for release. Definitely a step up over past years, and hopefully, with this being stretched out throughout the entire year, Visual Concepts has some other surprises in store to keep players playing.

WWE 2K24 releases March 8 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with Deluxe and Forty Years of Wrestlemania edition buyers getting three days of early access. You can learn more about the editions of WWE 2K24 in our editions breakdown post.

Pokemon Presents 2024 Reveals Pokemon Legends Z-A and Pokemon TCG Pocket

In this morning’s first Pokemon Presents 2024 presentation, The Pokemon Company laid out a handful of updates to their mobile game selection and announced a new Pokemon TCG game called Pokemon TCG Pocket, launching in 2024. They also revealed Pokemon Legends Z-A, a sequel to Pokemon Legends: Arceus that brings us back to the Kalos Region from Pokemon X & Y and launches sometime in 2025 for Nintendo Switch.

You can view the presentation in its entirety via the YouTube video below:

For those unfamiliar, the Pokemon Legends series is a branch of the main games that features over-the-shoulder third person gameplay and open-world exploration. The first game in the franchise, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, launched in 2022 and featured several new gameplay features such as the ability to be directly attacked by wild Pokemon and full-on boss battles against larger enemies in lieu of the traditional turn-based system.

While Pokemon Legends: Arceus was set in the Sinnoh region generations before the events of Pokemon Diamond & Pearl, it’s unclear exactly when Pokemon Legends Z-A will take place. Arceus featured a very Breath of the Wild-esque landscape with small, rudimentary settlements and rolling natural environments, whereas the trailer for Z-A seems to clearly represent a bustling society within the region’s central city of Kaliose. It’s possible that the gameplay style will be significantly different from its predecessor.

The Pokemon Company also revealed that Pokemon TCG Pocket, a new mobile game that mimics the collectible trading card game, would be arriving sometime in 2024. Players will be able to open two free card packs per day, an enticing offer for those who are big fans of collecting rare pocket monsters. Trading and card battles will also be available as features for avid trainers looking to catch ’em all.

During the presentation, The Pokemon Company also announced several updates to many of their mobile game offerings such as Pokemon Sleep, Pokemon Unite, and Pokemon Masters EX. Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are also getting some new Tera Raid Battle Events in the next few weeks for mighty variants of Gen 1’s starter evolutions. Finally, Pokemon Go will be launching a tie-in event for the Pokemon Horizons animated series on March 5 that will run through March 11.

Most notably, this presentation implies that there are no plans to release a major Pokemon title in 2024. Given the recent abundancy of rumors about an upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 launch, this decision makes sense. We hope that the extra time will allow Game Freak to properly polish and optimize their next title to match modern standards.

We’ll be sure to update our readers as we learn more about each of the titles announced during Pokemon Presents 2024. Be sure to stay tuned in to us here at MP1st.

Sony Layoffs Affect 900 Positions Across PlayStation, London Studio Shutters Down

This morning, Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan announced that the company was planning to initiate an “organizational restructuring” that would result in the elimination of 900 positions at the company. These Sony layoffs affect SIE branches all over the world, and they include the reduction of Horizon: Call of the Mountain developer Firesprite and the closure of PlayStation Studios’ London Studio.

The news was shared on SIE’s blog this morning, with Jim Ryan himself writing to announce that the company was planning to reduce their overall headcount by roughly 8%, amounting to just about 900 employees. Jim Ryan also included a copy of the company-wide email that was sent out earlier today, which you can read here:

Team,

It is important to provide you with updates about the business as often as possible. Today, I am writing with sad news. Through discussions over the past few months about the evolving economic landscape, changes in the way we develop, distribute, and launch products, and ensuring our organization is future ready in this rapidly changing industry, we have concluded that tough decisions have become inevitable. The leadership team and I made the incredibly difficult decision to restructure operations, which regrettably includes a reduction in our workforce impacting very talented individuals who have contributed to our success.

After careful consideration and many leadership discussions over several months, it has become clear changes need to be made to continue to grow the business and develop the company. We had to step back, look at our business holistically, and move forward focusing on the long-term sustainability of the company and delivering the best experiences possible for our community. The goal is to streamline our resources to ensure our continued success and ability to deliver experiences gamers and creators have come to expect from us.

I want to be as transparent as possible with you, our partners, and our community about what this means:

  • We envision reducing our headcount by about 900 people, or about 8% of our current workforce
  • There will be impact for employees across all SIE regions – Americas, EMEA, Japan, and APAC
  • Several PlayStation Studios are affected

I know that receiving this news will be hard and unsettling and you are wondering what this means for you. Timelines and procedures for how we approach this will vary based on your location due to local laws and regulations.

  • For those of you in the US, all impacted employees will be notified today.
  • In the UK, it is proposed:
    • That PlayStation Studios’ London Studio will close in its entirety;
    • That there will be reductions in Firesprite studio;
    • And that there will be reductions in various functions across SIE in the UK.

The proposed changes mean that we will enter a period of collective consultation before any final decisions are taken. All employees who are part of the collective consultation will be made aware of the next steps today.

  • In Japan, we will implement a next career support program. Details will be communicated separately.
  • In other countries, we will begin conversations with those who are potentially at risk or impacted as a result of this proposed course of action.

For those who will be leaving SIE: You are leaving this company with our deepest respect and appreciation for all your efforts during your tenure.

For those who will be staying at SIE: We will be saying goodbye to friends and colleagues that we cherish during this process, and this will be painful. Your resilience, sensitivity, and adaptiveness will be critical in the weeks and months to come.

This will not be easy, and I am aware of the impact it will have on wellbeing. Affected employees will receive support, including severance benefits. While these are challenging times, it is not indicative of a lack of strength of our company, our brand, or our industry. Our goal is to remain agile and adaptable and to continue to focus on delivering the best gaming experiences possible now and in the future.

Thank you for your understanding during this difficult period. Please be kind to yourselves and to each other.

Jim

As the letter shares, London Studio will be closing entirety as a result of this reorganization. Their studio was previously responsible for titles such as SingStar and Blood & Truth, two of PlayStation’s more unique titles. Additionally, Firesprite is receiving a staff reduction, though the exact amount is currently unclear.

In a separate blog post from Head of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst, the company announced that first-party studios such as Insomniac Games, Naughty Dog, and Guerrilla Games would also be affected by the layoffs. PlayStation’s US based Technology, Creative, and Support teams are amongst those set to suffer from the changes as well.

For those of you keeping count, Sony’s latest chop brings the grand total of video game related layoffs in 2024 to somewhere around 7,300 jobs. Their primary competitor Microsoft laid off 8% of its workforce as well back in January. In an industry as massive as ours, it’s alarming to see such a monumental number of job cuts in such a short amount of time, let alone after a year that was already chock-full of layoffs and closures. It’s flat-out awful. There’s no other way to say it.

While we hope the trend of mass layoffs and studio closures ends soon, it’s likely that we’ll see plenty more as the year goes on. We’ll make sure to keep our readers in the loop here at MP1st.

Need for Speed Unbound Update 1.000.018 Out for Patch 6.0.1 This Feb. 27

Criterion has raced out Need for Speed Unbound update 1.000.018 which is tagged as patch 6.0.1. This update includes dedicated PvP, 25 new races, and more. Check out the NFS Unbound February 27 patch notes down below.

Need for Speed Unbound Update 1.000.018 Patch Notes | NFS Unbound Update 6.0.1 Patch Notes | NFS Unbound Update Patch Notes for February 27:

Ok, we’re here, Vol. 6, go time!

Hopefully you saw the blog post detailing the year ahead we have for you but, if not, have a glance here!

Fully equipped with what Unbound Y2 and Kaizen are now? Great!

Just in case though, the TL;DR is that we want to build; not take away, and with each volume, step towards our goal of you starting to experience for the first time ever, the ultimate NFS destination in one place.

So what are we adding?! In Vol. 6 we are hitting with:

  • Dedicated PVP (with fresh playlists weekly)
  • Global Rank across SP and MP
  • Premium Speed Pass*
  • 25 new races

and oh, saving possibly the best till last…Audi is back with the triple threat of the S5, R8 and (new to NFS) the Audi RS 6!

Check below for the full details on everything, including other improvements and QOL. We’re extremely excited to see the positive response to the roadmap so far but we need your help.

This year is all about Kaizen and to live that iterative philosophy of changing for the better. We need you all to let us know what you think, what you like and what you want to see improved. We’ll be regularly monitoring the community Subreddit and other social channels for your feedback. Right! Last one to max rank has to help Rydell with the baby powder…

– Team Kaizen, Criterion Games

PATCH 6.0.1

Added Audi Audi S5 Sportback (2017), Audi R8 Coupé (2019) and Audi RS 6 Avant (2020)

Audi’s back! Get free access to the Audi S5 Sportback and Audi R8 Coupé, including body kits, in the Speed Pass. Upgrade to Premium for access to the stealthy and not-so-subtle Audi RS 6 Avant.

It’s great to have Audi back in Need for Speed. We have a long heritage together and what better way to show that off than with one of our Legends-inspired customs: Darius’ Audi R8 from NFS Carbon. You’ll find it in the Premium Speed Pass* so check it out!

Audi handling model

With Kaizen we want to try new things and partnering with Audi seemed like the perfect opportunity for this. So for each of the Audis in Vol. 6, you will find a new handling model equipped specifically for them.

Key differences:

  • Introduces a more gradual loss of grip to make initiating a drift feel smoother and make the loss of traction feel more predictable.
  • Smoothed out the high grip spec experience, aiming to reduce the amount of snapping that can occur, keeping you in grip more and punishing you less for a loss of grip.
  • Making high drift spec drifting easier to initiate and retain a more consistent flow when transitioning.

Dedicated PVP

Welcome to a new world of competition in Unbound. With Dedicated PVP, players compete in our featured playlists over this and the coming volumes.

We heard that you weren’t getting the full experience you wanted from Lakeshore Online with regard to races. So we have added a dedicated PVP ‘door’ in the top level of the online garage. Now you can matchmake with everyone else in the NFSverse that’s all about the winning!

The Dedicated ‘PVP’ door will also mean fuller playlists too, with 4 flavors to choose from that refresh each week. EVERYONE wanting to play PVP will be matchmade into them. Full playlists FTW!

Dedicated PVP is also our first step toward weekly programming. Each week the playlists will update to something fresh, so check back for what’s hot each week.

There will always be an option to simply race and be matchmade to anyone, but there will also be boosted events (boosted cash and XP!) as well as a selection of the options below:

  • Audi preview playlists allow you to experience the Audis and their new handling even without having them in your garage. As everyone is in the same car, these playlists are all about how you drive, not what’s under the hood!
  • Brand new S+, S, A+ and A tier races and playlists (25 in total)
  • NFS Legends playlist celebrating 30 years of NFS (New one every volume)

Sounds good, right? Here’s the Kaizen homework though. You need to let us know what you would like to see more or less of for the PVP playlists. This is your opportunity to actually affect what’s on offer each week. Look out for asks on the NFS Reddit (insert link) on what we should feature in the coming weeks. More variety will come to the PVP door in future volumes. Help us build it into something great to bring the community together!

Global Player Rank

Introducing a new ranking system that will persist beyond volumes. Whether you play in Story, Lakeshore Online or dedicated PVP, you will always make progress in your rank.

How many ranks, you ask? 200 to start! With the rank cap being raised with each volume.

What rewards? You mean more than the pleasure of a shiny rank badge and the intimidation of your rivals? Okay, how about chunks of XP, cash and our new title system, where with each volume through ranking up, challenges and the Speed Pass you can collect and display a title on your banner that expresses what you are all about?…Or maybe what you wish you were!

Premium Speed Pass*

Starting with Vol. 6, we are introducing an all-new premium track to the Speed Pass that will grant you instant access to one of our hot new vehicles and unlock the ability to earn all its deep customisation content. For Vol. 6, it’s the beast known as the Audi RS 6 Avant. Premium Pass also gives access to a Custom version of the RS6 inspired by Michèle Hélène Raymonde Mouton’s legendary Audi Quattro rally car.

Premium Speed Pass will also have the hottest new customisation options each season. Refining our Speed Pass this way is how we can keep delivering unique new content and gameplay to you through a more simplified approach. Remember, if that’s not your thing though, we will still be offering a free track of the Speed Pass with new vehicles and customizations for you to enjoy.

We are putting a greater emphasis on car content for the Speed Pass and making it available to Single Player, too, and yes that includes the Speed Pass vehicles. It’s our hope that this is seen as an improvement. Not only in how we deliver fresh new content to you, but in value too.

ADDITIONAL UPDATES AND QOL

New events

25 new races! Across A-S+ tiers! and it wouldn’t be Kaizen without trying out some new things. Like a race that runs along the length of the downtown elevated trainline? Yep! Race is called “Gotta be Kiddin’ Me” for a reason.

As with everything, let us know what you like and don’t like! It will help inform us for the Volumes ahead.

Freedrive playlist weekly speedlist updates

You might remember our update where we added Server recommended playlists in Freedrive? Well as with our Dedicated PVP rotation, the playlists now recommended by the server will change on a weekly basis too.

XP and SP earning

You can now add towards both your Global rank and your Speed Pass progression from either Single player or Multiplayer. Cars you unlock from the Speed Pass will be unlocked in SP too!

More XP rewards

XP rewards have been added and rebalanced for the following:

  • Activities + Collectables
  • Linkup MVP
  • SP events
  • Side Bets
  • Escaping cop chases
  • Playlists

Playlist rewards have been rebalanced. First place now receives lower rewards with last place earning more, reducing the disparity. The base reward for a playlist has also been increased, but the modifier for participants has been decreased, meaning the number of participants impacts the rewards less now. It’s all a bit Robin Hood (steal from the rich, give to the poor), but there is overall more XP in the pool.

QOL

We have also made other improvements to make your life easier:

  • Hot Laps are not discovered by default, as these are no longer ‘new’: they sit alongside the other activities to find and conquer
  • Fixed a bug with Linkup MVP tracking – now it should take into account contribution to the whole round!
  • Fixed a bug when entering a Linkup while in a pursuit/escaping, where a player wouldn’t trigger the escalating heat and pursuit status throughout the Linkup rounds
  • Some small performance improvements when in longer game modes (endurance, mostly). This should save on CPU usage spikes
  • Improved cars and road reflection
  • Improved image aliasing stability
  • Fixed “white tunnels” problem

That’s it for the patch notes. We will update you in the future when more patches arrive for the game.

  • – In addition, various tweaks have been made. For more details, please visit the link below. Battle Change List (27.02.2024)

Battle Change List for Feb. 27, 2024:

With this update we’ve added some balance adjustments to a few characters. These were made with the following objectives in mind. 1. Improve characters that could not fully express their individual potential. 2. Improve techniques that were clearly difficult to use. 3. Weaken elements that controlled an opponent’s action too severely.

1. Improve characters that could not fully express their individual potential.

Most of these adjustments focused on Jamie and Ryu. Jamie is a character whose potential improves the higher his drink level gets, but there was a lot of work required to unlock that potential, and it was difficult for him to show what he was capable of. For this update, we looked to alleviate this issue by increasing the number of ways he can increase his drink level. While Ryu looks like a character that has been carefully balanced when viewed in a vacuum, he has very few elements to his gameplan that stick out, and in the “standard character” category, his individuality is a bit thin. To address this point, we’ve made adjustments so that it’s easier to make use of his Hadoken, and increased the number of ways players can incorporate his Hashogeki into their gameplan.

2. Improve techniques that were clearly difficult to use.

We’ve improved techniques that were difficult to connect with in combos or were unreliable as anti-air techniques.

3. Weaken elements that controlled an opponent’s action too severely.

We primarily looked at techniques that were very strong as defensive measures for characters. We felt that in the neutral and while on defense, there were some techniques that were low risk but yielded a high return. Therefore we’ve weakened those techniques that controlled an opponent’s action too severely. Regarding Ken’s throw, while this is an offensive attack, he winds up in an ideal situation no matter where he is, which creates too much pressure, particularly for characters that don’t have any invincible attacks. In order to alleviate this situation, when his throw lands in the corner of the screen, we’ve made it so that he is in a slightly worse situation after the throw. We feel that the adjustments made during this update cover more area than previous battle adjustments, but we looked to even out the balance of the game without changing anything dramatically. This means that there are some characters that have absolutely no changes, and some characters that were only weakened, but we are looking at performing an overall balance adjustment in the future that will also affect characters not touched with this update. We appreciate your patience as we work towards that.

All Fighters

Modern Controls

Fixed an issue where if a player using Modern Controls would perform a special move using the SP button, scaling would not be applied to that special move if its activation overlapped with screen darkening from an opponent’s Drive Rush.

Modern and Dynamic Controls

Added an option to allow for normal throws to be mapped to its own button under Control Settings. Please note that it will be automatically assigned to the LT Button as a default setting.

Armor

Fixed an issue where when an attack with super armor properties, like a Drive Impact, etc., is in the middle of a hit stop due to absorbing an attack, an attack with Armor Break properties would not cause an armor break in that situation.

Drive Rush

Fixed an issue where if both players performed a Drive Rush at the same time, one player’s movement would be 1 frame slower.

Perfect Parry

Fixed an issue where under specific conditions, a Perfect Parry would occur even though the Drive Parry absorbed the attack after the 3rd frame of its start up.Input Buffering

Fixed an issue with the input buffer, as the input buffer time for a reversal after blocking an attack should change depending on the block’s recovery, but for Drive Reversals and some other attacks, it was not properly set.

LUKE

Crouching Medium Punch

1. 3 frames of recovery added when the attack misses. 2. The size of the feet hurtboxes between frames 6 – 24 has been expanded. 3. The size of the arm hurtbox from frame 19 onwards has been expanded.

Aerial Flash Knuckle

1. The landing recovery for when this move is performed at the peak of a jump and misses has been extended by 7 frames. 2. Changed the trajectory for when this move is performed at the peak of a jump and misses. 3. The size of the feet hurtboxes has been expanded from frame 16 until the end of the move. Note: No changes have been made to the charged version.

Vulcan Blast (SA1)

The size of the body hurtbox between frames 1 – 5 has been expanded.

JAMIE

Back Shaver (Forward Throw)

This forward throw has had a follow-up attack added that raises your Drink Level. Continue to hold down the throw input after the throw connects to perform the follow-up.

Breakin’ (SA1)

1. The damage of the normal version has been changed from 2100 to 2200. 2. The damage of the follow-up version has been changed from 1750 to 1850. Note: The damage now matches the Drink Level 2 version of the move. 3. Pushback on hit is no longer applied when this move lands on an opponent in the corner. 4. Will now down an opponent for 5 frames longer than before.

The Devil’s Song (SA2)

If the Drink Level has been raised prior to activation of this move, the Drink Level will now return to that value when the effect of this move ends.

Overdrive Tenshin

1. Fixed an issue where the collision pushbox on a knocked down opponent would disappear if there was no follow-up attack after the attack connects. 2. Fixed an issue where the opponent’s knockdown time was shorter than normal version when Overdrive Tenshin is used in a combo but no follow-up attack is performed.

RYU

Overdrive Shoryuken

Changed the first hit’s effect from a knockback to a blowback.

Solar Plexus Strike

The proximity block detection hitbox has been expanded to the edge of the attack’s hitbox between frames 2 – 18. Note: If an opponent is inputting a direction away from you while in the proximity block detection hitbox area then they will block, rather than move away from you.

Light Hashogeki

1. Recovery on block has been adjusted from -4 frames to -3 frames. 2. The knockback on block has been decreased. 3. The knockback on block while in burnout has been increased. 4. The distance covered between the end of the active frames and the end of recovery has been decreased.

Medium Hashogeki

1. The attack hitbox has been expanded forward. 2. The projectile clash hitbox has been expanded forward.

Heavy Hashogeki

1. The attack hitbox has been expanded forward. 2. The projectile clash hitbox has been expanded forward. 3. The knockback on block has been decreased. 4. The distance covered between the end of the active frames and the end of recovery has been decreased.

Overdrive Hashogeki

1. The attack hitbox has been expanded forward. 2. The projectile clash hitbox has been expanded forward. 3. The knockback on block has been decreased. 4. The knockback on hit has been decreased.

Denjin Charge Hashogeki

1. The attack hitbox has been expanded forward. 2. The projectile clash hitbox has been expanded forward. 3. The knockback on block has been decreased. 4. The damage of the Overdrive version has been changed from 600 to 1000. 5. The distance covered between the end of the active frames and the end of recovery has been decreased.

Hadoken

The size of the hurtbox around the arms has been reduced.

Shinku Hadoken (SA1)

The size of the hurtbox around the arms has been reduced.

KEN

Standing Light Punch

1. The size of the arm hurtbox between frames 2 – 6 has been expanded. 2. The size of the arm hurtbox between frames 7 – 8 has been decreased.

Knee Strikes (Forward Throw)

Has been adjusted so that if this throw connects on an opponent in the corner some distance will be placed between the players after the throw finishes.

Overdrive Aerial Tatsumaki Senpu-kyaku

1. The landing recovery for when this attack misses has been extended by 7 frames. 2. The collision pushbox has been adjusted to make it more difficult for opponents to jump over this move.

ZANGIEF

Overdrive Double Lariat

1. Adjusted so that the second attack hits opponents not in the air 1 frame earlier. 2. Adjusted so that the second attack knocks down the opponent for an additional 1 frame if it hits when they are not in the air. 3. Adjusted the hit reaction to the first attack when it hits an opponent not in the air so that it is possible for SA3 to connect after. 4. Adjusted so that the first attack’s blow back distance is reduced when hitting a mid-air opponent. 5. The distance traveled initially when the move is performed has been increased.

Aerial Russian Slam (SA1)

The hitbox has been expanded downward.

Cyclone Lariat (Super Art Level 2)

Extended the collision pushbox upwards while the screen is dark. Please note that due to the change to Overdrive Double Lariat’s blowback effect, this should mitigate situations where it’s difficult to perform combos.

CHUN-LI

Standing Light Punch

The size of the hurtboxes around the arms and legs between frames 2 – 8 have been expanded.

Aerial Hundred Lightning Kicks

Now has an initial scaling value of 20%.

DEE JAY

Funky Slicer

1. The knockback on block has been decreased. 2. The size of the hurtbox after the active frames has been expanded.

DHALSIM

Yoga Teleport

Fixed an issue where certain inputs would cause Dhalsim’s reappearance position to be different from normal.

Heavy Yoga Flame

Fixed an issue where if the attack landed as a Counter or Punish Counter, the 2nd hit of the attack would deal the same damage as a normal hit.

BLANKA

Modern Controls Lightning Beast (Super Art Level 2)

Fixed an issue where Blanka would perform Electric Thunder instead of Vertical Rolling attack when Super Art Level 2 is active or the player is charging down, and cancels a normal attack with down-back+SP Button.

Ground Shave Cannonball (Super Art Level 3/CA)

Fixed an issue where the attack’s reach would extend forward more than usual when performed in specific situations.

MANON

En Haut

Adjusted so that this move has greater inertia when performed out of a Drive Rush.

Étoile (Super Art Level 2)

1. The 1st and 2nd hit now have a blowback effect when hitting a mid-air opponent, and following attacks now connect easier on the opponent. 2. After the 2nd hit, if the 3rd attack does not connect, the opponent’s knockdown period will be extended. With this change, even if the 3rd attack doesn’t connect, it will be more difficult for opponents to counter attack Manon.

JP

Stribog (Modern Controls)

When JP’s Embrace cannot be performed because one of his projectile is on-screen, pressing Back+SP Button in Modern Controls would cause nothing to be performed. To offset this, JP’s Neutral+SP Button special move, Stribog, will be performed instead.

Standing Heavy Punch

1. The size of the foot hurtbox during the active frames has been expanded. 2. The size of the hurtbox for after the active frames has been expanded.

Crouching Heavy Punch

The invincibility to mid-air attacks that this move applied to the upper body has been removed.

Normal/Overdrive Amnesia

1. Adjusted the immediate scaling value from 15% to 60%. 2. Now has an initial scaling value of 50%. 3. Performing SA3 on a knocked back opponent will now cause the projectile generated from catching an opponent’s attack with this move to detonate quicker. 4. After successfully catching an opponent’s attack with this move, JP’s SA gauge will now not increase until either the generated projectile is gone, or until the current combo ends. 5. The Drive Gauge increase for Drive Parrying or Perfect Parrying the Overdrive version of this move has been changed from 2500 x 2 to 5000 x 2. 6. Fixed an issue resulting in unintended behavior for the projectile when on the edge of the screen. 7. Fixed an issue where the projectile would not disappear when this move clashed with an opponent’s SA.

Normal/Overdrive Departure

1. Now has an initial scaling value of 20%. 2. The Drive Gauge increase for Drive Parrying or Perfect Parrying the normal version of this move has been changed from 5000 to 7500. 3. The Drive Gauge increase for Drive Parrying or Perfect Parrying the Overdrive version of this move has been changed from 2500 x 2 to 3500 x 2.

RASHID

After Wall Jumps

Fixed an issue where performing certain techniques after a wall jump would not put Rashid into a Forced Knockdown state even after getting hit with an attack.

Standing Light Punch

1. The size of the hurtbox around the arms between frames 2 – 8 has been expanded. 2. The size of the hurtbox around the arms between frames 9 – 11 has been decreased.

Overdrive Spinning Mixer

The third attack is now invincible to mid-air attacks until the end of its active frames.

Ysaar (Super Art Level 2)

Fixed an issue where the whirlwind wouldn’t display as intended when lingering in its final stage.
A.K.I.

Standing Medium Punch

The number of active frames for this attack has been adjusted from 3 frames to 5 frames.

Crouching Light Punch

The attack hitbox has been expanded forward.

Overdrive Snake Step

Fixed an issue where the normal version of Snake Step would be performed instead of the Overdrive Version when inputting Back+AUTO+SP Button while A.K.I.’s Nightshade Pulse is on the screen.

At this time, Capcom has yet to release any official patch notes, and we don’t expect them to arrive until after the maintenance is over. However, we know that this update adds Ed, and per Capcom, it also brings some balancing to several characters and new challenger screens.

We’ll update the story above once Capcom releases the official patch notes. In the meantime, you can play Street Fighter 6 offline with everything this update brings, including Ed.

Update: Patch notes have been added to the article.

Ark Survival Ascended The Gigantoraptor Releases Feb. 28, The Center Delayed Indefinitely

While Studio Wildcard has some bad news for Ark Survival Ascended players, there’s a gargantuan good news alongside it as well. Ark Survival Ascended players will be able to take on The Gigantoraptor this coming Wednesday, Feb. 28!

This announcement was made by the studio where the devs also confirmed that The Center has to be delayed indefinitely due to it not meeting the studio’s level of quality.

An Update on “The Center” and The Gigantoraptor

“We’ve made the decision to postpone the Center as it wasn’t on track to launch with the level of quality we require. Our dedicated partners – who have been working on the Center while we focus on Scorched Earth – need more time to make sure it meets our expectations, and yours. We’re sorry for this change in plans but we know it will be well worth it when the Center launches!

We’d like to offer something for you to sink your teeth into right now though! The Gigantoraptor, originally intended to debut alongside ‘The Center’, will be released on Wednesday, Feb 28th for all Survivors on The Island. We hope your new majestic companion will keep you company while you wait for its home-map to receive its glow-up. In preparation for Gigantoraptor launch on Wednesday, we’ll be releasing a major version patch on Monday.

Thanks as always for your support. We’re thrilled with what we have in store for ARK: Survival Ascended over the coming months and look forward to sharing it with you. Between the Gigantoraptor next week and Scorched Earth on April 1st, there’s plenty of fresh ARK content heading your way!”

Don’t think of it as a bummer, as you’ll have a new beast to take on in just a few days. Once we know more about The Center, we’ll let our readers know.

In other Ark Survival Ascended news, the studio just released a patch for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, which you can read about here.

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre: Black Tower Studios Tapped to Help With New Content and Support

In case you didn’t know, The Texas Chain Saw Massacre wasn’t developed by just Gun Interactive but with the help of Sumo Nottingham (Hogwarts Legacy, Forza Horizon 5). Well, that’s about to change, as Gun Interactive has announced that Black Tower Studios has been onboarded to take over duties for Sumo Nottingham.

Black Tower Studios (Predator: Hunting Grounds, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night) has had co-development history with Gun Interactive, and both studios will work together to usher in “new content and support” for what Gun calls an “exciting 2024.”

For those who played Friday The 13th: The Game, Black Tower was the studio behind the Jarvis House and Pinehurst maps. Other partners will also be joining Gun Interactive for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which we’ve listed below.

  • Art Bully Productions – For future cosmetics and all characters
  • Testronic Labs – QA testing
  • Saturday Morning Cereal – All game trailers and assisting in in-game cinematics

What Does This Mean for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre?

While we probably won’t feel or see the difference, what we do know is that support for the game is confirmed for 2024! Chances are, Gun Interactive will announce its next round of fixes, new content and other plans for the game soon. The studio did talk about what’s incoming in the next few months, which you can read about here.

PlayStation Introduces Passkey, Password-Free Sign and Here’s How It Works

PlayStation just made signing into your account much easier and safer, as they’ve introduced the PlayStation Passkey system for users to enable on their accounts on PlayStation.

As revealed on a new “Passkey” webpage on PlayStation.com, users can now enable Passkey as a form of signing into their PlayStation account via computer or mobile devices.

PlayStation has broken down what a “Passkey” is and why you should activate it.

What is a passkey?

A passkey is a password replacement that provides faster, easier, and more secure sign-in to your account for PlayStation Network. It allows you to access your account without a password. Instead, you sign in through your mobile device or computer using the same convenient device screen unlocking method like a fingerprint, face scan or PIN.

Why activate a passkey?

A passkey makes signing in faster by removing the step of typing out a password, letting you get into your games more quickly.

A passkey also reduces the vulnerability associated with traditional password-based systems: It cannot be guessed or reused, is tied to your account for PlayStation Network and can only be accessed by you.

Passkey are safer than passwords because they are resistant to phishing and other types of cyberattacks like data breaches.

To get started, all you have to do is sign in to their passkey page and follow the steps to enable the feature. This will definitely help those who have trouble remembering passwords, especially given how many online accounts elsewhere you have besides PlayStation.

Ark Survival Ascended Update 1.035.004 Patch Notes | Ark Survival Ascended Update v35.6 Patch Notes | Ark Survival Ascended Update v35.5 Patch Notes:

v35.6 server (35.4 Playstation client) – 02/26/2024 – Major version for servers and clients

Love Ascended Mod Removal

  • Servers will need to use the launch parameter that we added previously when you disable Love Ascended to prevent losing event cosmetics/items.
  • As an interim solution (before integrating mod elements into the core game), we have added a “-passivemods=[ModID],[ModID]” command line option. This option will disable a mod’s functionality, while still loading its data, serving as a temporary measure until a permanent solution is implemented. The passivemod command line should be used in conjunction with “-mods=[ModID],[ModID]”, where the passivemod’s ID is listed first.
    • Example using Love Ascended: -mods=927084,ModID,ModID -passivemods=927084

Patch Notes

  • Added a new Cosmetics UI, accessible via a button inside the inventory screen
  • Optimizations to tamed creature eating. Creatures will now scale how often they look for food in troughs based on how hungry they are, up to a maximum of 10 minutes.
  • Updated various item icons

  • Fixed various dino texture issues
  • Fixed various dino ground conforming and animation issues

  • Fixed Cosmetic Tab not remembering its sorting preset
  • Disabled the use of various console commands used to gain visual advantages (we will continue to monitor and disable more of these as necessary).
  • Fixed some client GPU crashes
  • Fixed multiple exploits

The patch notes for PlayStation, Xbox and PC are the same, but you can check each platform’s dedicated forum post if for some reason you want to be sure (PC, Xbox).

Final Fantasy VII Remake Update 1.001 Released This Feb. 26 Covers Up Tifa

Final Fantasy VII Remake update 1.001 is out now on PS5, and this covers up Tifa, which might sound odd, but makes sense given the game’s connection to the upcoming sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth out this Thursday.

Final Fantasy VII Remake Update 1.001 Patch Notes for Feb. 26:

Square Enix only mentions this title update “fixes several bugs,” it actually covers up Tifa! While it isn’t specified what bugs were fixed, we now know that this patch changes Tifa’s outfit to make it more in line with FF7 Rebirth’s. Per the game’s Steam community, the change involves a Nibelheim flashback where a younger version of Tifa wearing a cowboy outfit featured, and this update adds a shirt to cover her cleavage (understandable since in the flashback, Tifa is 15 years old).

Check out the before and after images below (via HatefulMother):

Before Patch:

After Patch:

Speaking of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, we already ran our review, and it is an instant classic with our reviewer stating, “The gauntlet has already been thrown as a Game of the Year contender with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and it’s going to take one hell of a game to match its quality in 2024.”

You can check out FF7 Rebirth yourself, as there is a free demo out on PSN. What’s even better is Square Enix released an update to the demo that added more content.

Supermassive Games Entering Consultation, Anticipates Layoffs

The games industries’ rough 2024 continues, as this time, it’s Supermassive Games that’s set to layoff employees soon. The studio has issued a message, stating that they are set to undergo consultation, which the studio expects will involve layoffs.

The message was issued on Twitter/X, which is surprising to see that a studio announce they are going to be laying off people given these stuff are usually swept under the rug by most companies.

“It’s no secret that the games industry is currently facing significant challenges, and unfortunately we aren’t immune to this.

After much deliberation and with deep regret, we are therefore undertaking a reorganisation of Supermassive Games. As a result, we are entering into a period of consultation, which we anticipate will result in the loss of some of our colleagues.

This is not a decision that’s been taken lightly, with many efforts made to avoid this outcome.

We are all too aware of how unsettling and difficult this process is going to be for all our employees and will be working closely with all those involved to ensure the process is conducted as respectfully and compassionately as possible.

We’re committed to focusing our efforts on our core strengths and upcoming titles to ensure the continued sustainability of the company.”

Just a few weeks ago, Supermassive Games’ founders left the company, with some citing health as the primary reason for doing so.

Supermassive Games has been active in releasing games, with the most recent projects being The Devil in Me and Switchback VR as part of The Dark Pictures Anthology. Currently, the studio is working with Behaviour Interactive on The Casting of Frank Stone, which is a single-player game based in the Dead by Daylight universe.

We wish the company and its employees the best and hopefully, they will all be able to land on their feet.

Other video game companies hit with layoffs this 2024 include Microsoft’s Xbox division, Riot Games, and a ton of Embracer’s employees.
