PS5 VRR Support Now Live; Here’s How to Enable It

Earlier this week, Sony announced that the long awaited VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) update for the PS5 was finally set to arrive this week. While a number of titles have received updates to support the new feature, it seems that the PS5 system itself doesn’t actually need a system update, as Sony has stealthily enabled the option for gamers, and all it takes is a quick restart of the console.

As pointed out by Reddit user RTCanada, the VRR update for the PS5 is now live, though you won’t find it packed in a brand-new software update like many expected. Nope, instead, it appears that the option is already available on the PS5 console (assuming you are on the latest PS5 update from earlier this month) and all that is required is a quick console restart. We have tested it out on two PS5 consoles, both in sleep mode with the feature missing, and after following the direction from RTCanada we were able to get the VRR option to show up on the PS5.

To do a restart, all you have to do is push the PlayStation button on your DualSense controller and navigate to the power option and select “restart.” This will restart the console and once it’s fully booted you can navigate to settings and screen and video options. You should that the VRR information is now displayable under video and output information as well as the option to force VRR for unsupported games.

Note: if you don’t see the option after restarting your system, we had to do a full shutdown on our second PS5, and then boot up from there to finally get it to show up.

That’s really all there is to it! If you have VRR TV set or monitor you can now test to see if it’s supported. It should be mentioned you may have to do a few tinkering with the settings of those sets to enable it as the default ones may have it disabled. For example, you may need to enable FreeSync mode and game mode, while other sets may need the HDMI plugged into a specific port such as 1 or 2. Give it a try, and be sure to let us know your results!

Roccat Burst Pro Air Gaming Mouse Review – Wireless Beast

Making an impressive debut last year, Roccat is back with yet another exciting new iteration to their newest line of gaming mice, the Burst Pro. Dubbed as the Burst Pro Air, a wireless alternative of their stellar Burst Pro, Roccat is once again setting its sights at delivering uncompromised performance, at a fair, and affordable price. Here’s the MP1st Roccat Burst Pro Air review.

Perfecting Perfection

Back when I reviewed the Roccat Burst Pro, one of my many praises was how simple, yet beautiful the design was. It had a sleek modern look with a not-so-flashy, but gorgeous application of RGB lighting. The mouse itself was — and still is — extremely comfortable to use, and since its initial release last year, it’s been my go-to gaming mouse that I have used every day.

Honestly, it’s been a damn near perfect gaming mouse since I got it — one I felt that Roccat couldn’t possibly improve on. Well, that was the case until I got my hands on the wireless variant of this mouse, the Roccat Burst Pro Air.

While the Burst Pro Air maintains much of the original design of the Burst Pro, there are some changes, one being the obvious wireless connectivity. Using either Bluetooth (5.2), or the 2.4GHz dongle that comes with it, users can enjoy lightning fast responsiveness without the need of a wire running from their PC. It’s complete freedom, which is great for those looking for a way to better their cable management on their builds.

Looking a bit closer at the Burst Pro Air, there are some additional changes that may not be so obvious to the eye. Take the transparent honeycomb shell. On the original Burst Pro, the RGB would shine through it in a beautiful-yet-non-flashy-nor-distracting way. It had just enough brightness to give it that style with a special touch. That still holds true on the Burst Pro Air, but now the honeycomb and RGB lighting extend further into the left and right clicker where before they came up just a tad short of those buttons. It’s not a major change mind you, but a welcomed one nonetheless.

image via Twitter

Underneath the mouse there are the switches to go between the different forms of connectivity, as well as the PTFE glides which I believe, may be the same as previous iterations. However, the underneath portion of those glides and around it has been changed to have the transparent honeycomb design. Before it was just solid plastic with some odd square. It doesn’t sound like a big change, but when you look at both the Burst Pro and Burst Pro Air it’s a little evident as you can now see some glow coming from underneath it. You can see it in the picture above.

It’s a small, but very nice change that adds more “pop” to the Burst Pro Air in such a simple, yet not overly flashy way.

All in all, while not the most drastic of changes (outside of being wireless, of course,) these do add up for what I consider to be a great quality of life improvement over the wired variant. For a gaming mouse that I already had nothing but high praise for, the Roccat Burst Pro Air will certainly be the standout mouse you might just be looking for when it comes to style, and of course, comfortability. But what of the actual performance? How does it stack up against other gaming mice, yet alone its predecessor?

Performance

For the sensor, the Burst Pro Air is once again using Roccat’s state of the art optical sensor, the Owl-Eye. However, where the Burst Pro featured a 1600 DPI sensor, the Burst Pro Air features a 1900 DPI sensor, the same found in the excellent Kone Pro line that launched after the Burst. But what exactly does that even mean in terms of real-world use? Well, it means you can enjoy PC gaming with zero compromises as the Owl-Eye sensor allows 1:1 accuracy. You move, it moves, no delays, no sluggishness. It’s fast, and responsive and for those who are massive fans of the first-person shooter genre, it’s exactly what you want — a mouse that can keep up with those fast twitch reactions. It feels great, and I can honestly say the difference between the Burst Pro Air and other gaming mice is a noticeable one; enough to say it makes a world of a difference.

What’s more, much like many of Roccat recent PC hardware offerings, the Burst Pro Air also features their groundbreaking innovating Titan Optical Switch. For those out of the know, the Titan is an optical switch that uses light rather than a physical form of contact to register presses. This translates to clicks that are snappier and more responsive over mechanical mice, as well as less wear and tear on the hardware itself. The presses are immediately felt on the Burst Pro Air, almost as if they are pressed before you even press the key yourself. It sounds crazy, but that’s how damn responsive it feels.

As for the wear and tear part, having spent time with the Burst Pro (wired) I can comfortably stand by that statement of longer lasting hardware. A year+ of daily extensive use, my Burst Pro is still holding up strong with no signs of buttons sticking. I’m surprised as usually I find myself dealing with mouse trouble right around the year mark for how heavy of a PC user I am, yet alone competitive in the FPS genre. I’m excited to see how the Burst Pro Air holds up in that time, but undoubtedly, my level of confidence in this mouse is at the utmost highest.

And mind you, this is a wireless gaming mouse. I’ve always had the thought that a wired connection is the sure way to get the best possible experience, and while that may still hold true in many areas, the Burst Pro Air certainly proves that it can go toe-to-toe with that connection type while being wireless. If there is a benefit being wired, the Burst Pro Air sure blurs that.

Of course, being wired does mean that you don’t ever have to worry about it dying on you mid-game, but that shouldn’t be a concern with the Burst Pro Air as it sports a battery that can last 100 hours on a single full charge. That’s four full days plus some of consecutive use, something you probably will never ever hit as long as you charge the mouse during down times, like when you are fast asleep. And even if it were to die on you, you could always hook it up via the USB-C cable for fast charging, all while still using it.

The Verdict

I know I shouldn’t be surprised, but I am. Roccat continues to prove that they are amongst the top dogs when it comes to PC peripherals. The Burst Pro was already considered to be one of the best gaming mice I have ever used, and yet, somehow, someway, Roccat has managed to improve on what I already thought was to be perfect. The Roccat Burst Pro Air easily sits up there as one of the best wireless gaming mice. It’s comfortable, slick, beautiful in design, and delivers top of the line performance to help you elevate your PC gaming, all at a very reasonable price point of $99.

Pros:

  • Beautiful design, built for comfortability and long use.
  • Gorgeous RGB lighting.
  • Easy to set-up be it via wireless dongle or Bluetooth.
  • Impressive battery life, supports USB-C for fast charging.
  • Titan Optical Switch and Owl-Eye sensor deliver a must-have performance.
  • Nvidia reflex supported to deliver ultra low-latency.

Cons:

  • None, if there is one I haven’t found it yet.

EA Battlefield Campaign Seattle Studio Sets Up Shop; BF2042 Rocket Feedback for Orbital Map Heard by DICE

While Battlefield 2042 didn’t exactly live up to expectations, EA seems to be serious in ensuring that future iterations of the franchise will, as there’s now confirmation that EA has set up a “Battlefield Campaign” studio in Seattle!

This was confirmed by Lianne Cruz over on Twitter, where the studio’s boss and Battlefield Game Director Marcus Lehto acknowledged the tweet:

Note that while Cruz mentions “Battlefield Campaign Seattle Studio,” we’re uncertain for now whether this means that campaign means a full-on Battlefield story-driven campaign, or whether this means that they are making a campaign around the game like what Activision has done with Call of Duty: Warzone. We’ve reached out to EA for clarification and will update the post if we get a response.

In Battlefield 2042 news, if you’re finding that the rocket launches in the Orbital map seem to be a rare occurrence, you’re not alone. Multiple BF2042 players have posted on the EA Answers forums asking for more rocket launches, to which Battlefield Community Manager Straatford87 replied that he’ll be bringing that feedback to the team at DICE.

Going back to the Battlefield Campaign Seattle Studio, we want to reiterate that this is not really a guarantee that the next Battlefield game will feature a full-fledged campaign. But if it does feature that, we’ll, don’t be surprised.

Note that while the patch is downloadable now, the actual event will start tomorrow, April 27. This is a new game mode that has new mechanics, which we’ve listed in the Rocket League April 26 patch notes below.

Rocket League Update 2.14 Patch Notes | Rocket League April 26 Patch Notes:

Update: Psyonix has released the official patch notes, and it’s listed below.

THE HEADLINES

  • Knockout Bash starts on April 27 at 9 a.m. PDT / 4 p.m. UTC!
    • Learn more about the event and our new Knockout LTM here

BUG FIXES

  • After completing a match and returning to the main menu, fixed a bug preventing the game client from saving the previous selection for re-queue
  • Fixed a UI bug preventing “Competitive” from appearing above the scoreboard when playing multiple consecutive Competitive matches
  • Fixed a bug preventing access to the Change Mode/Match menu while watching a Replay
  • Fixed a bug preventing chat during trading
  • Dingo Engine Audio volume level has been fixed
  • Fixed a bug with parental control preventing some players from seeing the “Allow All” in-game text chat option

Psyonix has not released the official patch notes just yet, but did confirm that today’s update is for the Knockout Bash LTM. Check out the Knockout Bash trailer and mechanics below.

Knockout Bash Schedule: April 27 to May 10.

KNOCKOUT: THE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

So how does this new LTM work? Let’s dive right in. Knock opponents out of the Safezone or into Hazards, and the last player standing wins!

GAME RULES

Team Size – In Knockout there are no teams. Instead, 8 players compete in free-for-all action.

Lives – Unlike Soccar, Knockout doesn’t have unlimited respawns. Players will have to watch their back because once you’ve been KO’d 3 times it’s game over.

Safezone – Surrounding the arena is a translucent dome called the Safezone. When a player is knocked out of the Safezone, they must return within 10 seconds or they will be KO’d. Throughout the game the Safezone will shrink, increasing the danger. After 6 minutes the match will enter Sudden KO, where every Attack or Throw is maximum power, and being knocked out of the Safezone causes an instant KO.

Hazards – Each Knockout Arena contains several Hazards, including Spikes and a Laser Grid that lies below the platforms. Touching a Hazard will result in an instant KO.

rl_knockout_instructions_1.jpg

CORE GAMEPLAY

Attack – Dodging into opponents will do a lot more than just bump them, in Knockout a well-placed Attack will send your opponents flying. Remember, the faster you’re going the harder you’ll hit.

Block – Blocking will reflect Attacks back at your opponent. Be careful though, this will only work with proper timing otherwise your block will fail, leaving you wide open to an Attack.

Grab – Hold the Grab button and dodge into an opponent to Grab them. Dodge again to throw them across the Arena.

SECONDARY MECHANICS

Stun – Players will be Stunned after being hit by an Attack, while being Grabbed, after being Thrown by a Grab, or after having an Attack Blocked. In this state, players are helpless and cannot control their cars. While Stunned, you can free yourself by mashing the Break Stun button.

Enemy Lock-On – Instead of locking on to a ball, the camera is now able to lock on to opposing players. While locked on, the player can cycle through targets.

Triple Jump – Double jump is SO retro. In Knockout, players can jump in the air twice before resetting their jumps by placing their wheels on the ground.

Multi Dodge –  Dodging power has been increased, and now Players can dodge up to four times in the air. No need to flip reset either, as there is no time limit to how long your dodge can be saved mid-air.

Jump – In Knockout, jumping has much more vertical force than other Rocket League modes.

Boost – Boost is a bit stronger in Knockout, which allows players to get back to the platform when they have been slammed into the distance by other players. Boost will recharge whenever you’re not boosting while your wheels are touching the ground.

060adc67-0c36-441b-b3ce-3b41353a4f5f.jpg

ENTER THE ARENA

Knockout has migrated off the Soccar pitch and onto 3 new Arenas built just for battling: CalaveraCarbon, and Quadron. The constant crashing of cars eventually wore away the walls and floors of all 3, so be careful! Players can easily be thrown out of the Arena, and once you fall too far there’s no coming back.

KNOCKOUT BASH CHALLENGES

Battling it out in the Arena is no easy task, but a new batch of challenge rewards should help keep morale high. Unlock Spring-themed Items like the Florescence WheelsMonarch Boost, or the animated Flutterby Decal as you smash your way to the top.

STOP AND SMELL THE GOLDEN GIFT BASKETS

Even the most dedicated fighters need to rest and recuperate, so why don’t you relax with a Golden Gift Basket? Throughout Knockout Bash, players can earn Golden Gift Baskets that unlock a mix of classic Items from the VictoryAccelerator, and Turbo Item Series. Golden Gift Baskets work just like previous Golden rewards. Complete the Challenge up to five times to earn Golden Gift Baskets, then open them in your Inventory to unlock items!

If Psyonix releases an official patch notes changelog for v2.14, we’ll be sure to update the post accordingly.

Update: Post has been updated with the official patch notes courtesy of Psyonix.

Fortnite Street Fighter Collab Features Sakura & Blanka; Outfits Available April 28

A new Fortnite Street Fighter collaboration has been announced, and will be featuring SF characters Sakura and Blanka, with both outfits to be made available via the item shop on April 28! In addition, players will be able to join two separate Battle Cups: a mobile only Zero Build Battle Cup, and one that will be open to all platforms! Check out the full details on this latest collaboration for Fortnite below.

Fortnite Street Fighter Blanka Delgado Style

Blanka

Seeing him in action is no joke. Unleash the beast with the Blanka Outfit, which comes with the Blanka Delgado alt Style inspired by Rival Schools’ Boman Delgado. Celebrating a K.O. elimination? Break out the Outfit’s built-in Blanka Backflip Emote.

Included with the Blanka Outfit is the Blanka-Chan Back Bling. Don’t step on it — the more eliminations you get in a match, the more electrified it gets. And the preferred snack of electrified warriors everywhere, the Tropical Hazard Kebab Pickaxe will also be available.

Fortnite Street Fighter Sakura Gym Style

Sakura

After Ryu set foot on the Island, it was only a matter of time before Sakura followed. Prove you’re as strong as Ryu with the Sakura Outfit, which comes with the Sakura Gym alt Style inspired by one of her Street Fighter IV alts. Already sure of your victory? Activate the Outfit’s built-in Sakura’s Victory Sway Emote.

A reminder of home, the Sakura Outfit includes the Hanakaze Claw Back Bling. For those extra confident of their victory, flaunt the Fighting Tournament Trophy Pickaxe. Additionally, keep the pests away with the Kayari Buta Glider.

As for the Fortnite Street Fighter Battle Cups, the mobile-only tournament is being held on April 27, while the one for all platforms is April 28, the same date as for these new outfits dropping in-game.

MOBILE-ONLY BLANKA & SAKURA CUP

The first Blanka & Sakura Cup takes place in Fortnite on Android only on April 27. Competitors can play up to ten matches within their region’s three-hour time window, and the specific event timing for each region can currently be found in the Compete tab in-game.

Stay tuned here at MP1st for the patch notes once the new update drops for Fortnite!

Report: PlayStation Timed Game Trials Now a Requirement for Some Developers

Timed game trials are now a requirement for some PlayStation developers, according to a new report from Game Developer. This new requirement is apparently a prerequisite for games that will be included in the PlayStation Plus Premium subscription service.

The report from Game Developer elaborates that sources have mentioned that studios and developers working on games costing $34 or higher must now also present a timed game trial for their upcoming PlayStation titles. These trials must also be at least two hours long. For games that do not fall into the pricing category, developers are not required to create these timed trials.

It’s important to note that this new rule is also not retroactive, meaning that older games are spared the need to allocate resources into building these timed trials. PlayStation VR titles are apparently also safe, as they are also not required to follow the rule, whether older or upcoming.

While the news may sound great for players themselves, who now have the option of trying out games beforehand, it may prove to be impactful to smaller developers whose price point may meet the criteria. Sure, games from Activision, Ubisoft, and any of the other big publishers will have no problem coming up with timed demos, but indie developers may find themselves a bit stretched due to possible additional development timed required by these trials.

Don’t forget, none of this has been officially announced, so take it with a grain of salt for now. If it does indeed happen, this should be another added benefit for people to upgrade to PS Plus Premium.

In other PlayStation Plus news, the lineup of games for May 2022 has leaked just like the months before it, and you can check out the included titles here.

COD Warzone Season 3 New Locations and Changes Listed; Ricochet Anti-Cheat Cloaking Explained

With Season 3 now in full swing for Vanguard, COD Warzone Season 3 new locations (points of interest) and changes have been listed by Activision, in addition to some tips for players to note as they enter a new version of the battle royale! With Godzilla and Kong about to make their way soon, it’s fitting that Raven Software has made some big changes to the Warzone locals.

There’s also an update on Ricochet, the anti-cheat front for the game, and how it has been effective so far in combatting the cheating elements in Warzone.

First up, here are the changes made in Season 3 of COD Warzone, as well as how you can overcome them:

1. Can you Dig It? As a new area, Dig Site can easily become a point of interest with high energy. Beam enemies from cover as you move through the inner dig site tents, towers, bones, and shack, taking a glance up at the excavators to see if any snipers are taking position on the conveyor belts.Use the skulls, rib cages, and other bones throughout the Dig Site as solid cover against enemy attacks. While they could be easily crushed by a titan’s stomp or well-placed giant stone, they are still strong enough to stop enemy attacks.

2. Double Black-Diamond Peak. Dropping in on Peak can be a daunting yet rewarding start to your Battle Royale match. Stick together with your squadmates, communicate often, and check every building – old or new – for Supply Boxes and items that could help with survival.Long-range weaponry can help lock down the new vehicle tunnels and outdoor areas. Meanwhile, when travelling within the stronghold buildings, consider finding an SMG, shotgun, or fast-firing assault rifle to clear rooms.

3. A Clear Tarmac. The Runway’s seclusion and natural cover are no more. In its place, Operators should search the hangers and new buildings for items, take to guard towers to scout ahead for enemies, and above all else, not run out in the open where the tall grass, fauna, and trees used to conceal movement.

4. Hold Your Fire. The Hold’s small symmetrical design encourages Operators to check lanes with equipment before revealing their position. Even if you catch a glimpse of an enemy, consider waiting to take the first shot until they are truly unaware of your presence.

5. No Box Unopened. With Perks being added in the update, finding and opening Supply Boxes during the mid-game could become a more viable strategy for victory. Learn where they are usually located and listen to their hum; the best scavengers may be rewarded with valuable Perks.

Perk drops are coming to Warzone with tomorrow’s update. Players will now abe able to equip all eight perks at once if they manage to find them in a match!

Each season, Raven Software makes an update to the item pool, changing what Operators can find in Supply Boxes or on the ground around Caldera. One of the biggest additions this season is a new lootable item type: Perks.

As of this update, the following Perks can be found as Legendary Rarity loot:

  • Battle Hardened
  • Engineer
  • High Alert
  • Restock
  • Tempered
  • Quick Fix
  • Scavenger
  • Pointman (Plunder Exclusive)

There’s also a new Sabotage Contract incoming too.

New Contract: Sabotage

After picking up a Sabotage Contract, an Operator and their squad will be given a vehicle target somewhere on the map. Take out this vehicle within the time limit for a Cash bonus, an increased Contract Level, and an Armored Truck Deployment.

This Armored Truck is similar to the one seen in modes like Armored Royale, touting increased health and a turret seat.

While powerful, it’s presence on the map will make your squad a large target, especially if an enemy team picks up a Sabotage Contract.

Ricochet has also been updated, with an improved version set to launch with the release of Season 3 for Warzone tomorrow:

Leaderboards

We’ve seen conversation within the community about how cheating may impact global leaderboards. Thanks to the help from our internal development partners, we can confirm that any security enforcement that results in a ban to a player will be reflected in the leaderboard for each title. To boil it down: If someone is banned for cheating, they will be deleted from the leaderboard.

Mitigation Spotlight

In our previous anti-cheat progress report, we outlined how #TeamRICOCHET uses in-game mitigation techniques to reduce the impact of cheaters, while also collecting data that’s essential to identify cheating behavior. While the team is hard at work testing and deploying a variety of new mitigation and detection techniques, we wanted to highlight something that’s been spotted in the wild: Cloaking.

With Cloaking, players that are detected to be cheating can find themselves unable to see opposing players in the game world. Characters, bullets, even sound from legitimate players will be undetectable to cheaters. Legitimate players, however, can see cheaters impacted by cloaking (generally, they’ll be the players you see spinning in circles hollering, “Who is shooting me?!”) and can dole out in-game punishment. This, like our previously revealed mitigation technique Damage Shield, gives legitimate players a leg up on cheaters.

Ban Updates

In a previous update on @CallofDuty’s Twitter channel, we announced over 90,000 accounts had been shuttered in a recent ban wave – this in addition to ban waves that had been previously announced. Since the update on social media, #TeamRICOCHET has banned over 54,000 additional accounts. While we may not announce all bans as they happen, know they occur both daily and in waves.

Of course, we understand that for every advancement we make in anti-cheat, cheaters are working to circumvent those updates. For this reason, we encourage players to continue to use in-game reporting tools. If you see a cheater in the wild, report it. This information is invaluable to make new updates in the fight against unfair play.

COD Warzone Season 3 is dropping in an update tomorrow. Stay tuned here at MP1st for the complete patch notes once this new update rolls around!

Sonic the Hedgehog Games to be Delisted by Sega Ahead of Sonic Origins Launch

In news that is sure to upset some players and fans, Sega will be delisting several Sonic the Hedgehog games, namely those that will be included in the upcoming Sonic Origins collection. Starting May 20, the following Sonic the Hedgehog games will no longer be purchaseable digitally:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog 1
  • Sonic the Hedgehog 2
  • Sonic 3 & Knuckles
  • Sonic CD

Here’s the full announcement from Sega via press release:

SEGA announced today that the company will delist the digital versions of the stand-alone titles that will be featured in the upcoming game, Sonic Origins on May 20, 2022.

This will include Sonic the Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Sonic CD. There are a couple of exceptions – Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 will remain available via SEGA AGES on the Nintendo Switch and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will still be playable via Sega Genesis on Nintendo Switch Online +.

It’s not hard to see why Sega will do such a thing as delist some of these classic titles. Looking back to the release of the GTA The Trilogy The Definitive Edition, Rockstar also delisted the three games included in the collection (GTA 3, GTA San Andreas, and GTA Vice City) so that players can only purchase the collection. It has not gone over well with the community, and Rockstar has since backpedaled on the move, apologizing to the community. It will be interesting to see if this move from Sega will be met with the same backlash as well.

In case you missed it, check out the official announcement for Sonic Origins here, also detailing the various features for the game.

COD Vanguard & Warzone Season 3 Operators; Meet the Members of Task Force Harpy

Ahead of the huge update that dropped today and will be dropping tomorrow, Activision has revealed the COD Vanguard & Warzone Season 3 Operators, Task Force Harpy! Check out a rundown direct from the latest update on the Call of Duty blog.

COD Vanguard & Warzone Season 3 Operators:

Mateo Hernandez

Favorite Weapon: M1916 (unlocked free at Tier 15 of the Season Three Battle Pass)

Year of Birth: 1919

Mateo was born into a large Mexican-American family in Texas, dreaming of becoming a civil engineer. He joined the Navy during World War II, fighting as a tail gunner in the Pacific. After witnessing the growing prejudice and racism against his people following the war, Mateo threw himself into campaigning for his people, speaking out against injustices as well as helping reunite families across the Mexican border.

Unlock Mateo Hernandez and his two Legendary Operator Skins — “Chingon” and “Madcap” — immediately at Tier 0 through purchase of the Season Three Battle Pass. Between the mask of the grim reaper and the wild look of daring exploits, Mateo is sure to make his presence known in the battles ahead.

Florence Carter

Favorite Weapon: Nikita AVT (unlocked free at Tier 31 of the Season Three Battle Pass)

Year of Birth: 1923

Born and raised in Alabama, Florence dreamed of representing her country as a fighter pilot since she was a little girl. During World War II, she was determined to make those dreams come true, but was turned away from those opportunities due to both her gender and her race. After the war, the S.O.T.F. recognized her talent and passion for being in the sky and Florence has flown as a rescue helicopter pilot for them ever since.

Unlock Florence via the Florence Carter Operator Bundle, releasing in the Store shortly after the Season Three launch. Get her Legendary Operator Skin “Hellacious” when you purchase the Bundle.

Kim Tae Young

Favorite Weapon: H4 Blixen (arriving later in Season Three)

Date of Birth: 1928

Trained by her mother as a fighter, Tae Young donned a mask to conceal her identity while helping families cross the North Korean border to safety. She soon earned a reputation amongst the Korean people as a local folk hero and keeper of justice. Even the briefest glimpse of her Dokkaebi mask instills hope in her people and fear in her enemies.

Unlock Kim Tae Young by purchasing her Bundle arriving later in Season Three.

Season 3 is now live for Call of Duty Vanguard, with the new season arriving for Call of Duty Warzone tomorrow. Stay tuned here at MP1st for the complete patch notes once the update rolls around.

Bloodhunt Day One Patch Notes Revealed This April 26

Before its release tomorrow, Sharkmob has rolled out the Bloodhunt Day One patch notes today, including a host of fixes and changes for the game before it leaves early access! Check out the full Bloodhunt April 27 update patch notes below.

Bloodhunt Day One Patch Notes | Bloodhunt April 27 Update Patch Notes:

We are very excited for the launch of Bloodhunt and we have been sharing a lot of the improvements that we have done since the game was in Early Access with you through detailed articles.

Here is a quick compilation for you should you want a refresher or are a new player recently joining us.

Additionally, we also have support for Twitch drops, a streamer mode to help prevent stream sniping, a new anti-cheat strategy, players stats through tracker.gg, multiple new quests and a lot more!

We also took some time to refine the existing design and balance, and here are some highlights!

NEW WEAPON: 9-Barrel

As the name suggests, it sports nine barrels strapped together with a unique firing mechanism. The trigger can be tapped to fire with great precision or held down to empty each chamber in a barrage of high damage bullets.
In other words a very versatile weapon that in the right hands can be extremely deadly. Uses precision ammo.

Resonance
We have increased the resonance cap from 7 to 12.
This means that you can fill out all your resonance slots if you diablerize and keep feeding which is perfect for all of you thristy and power crawing Kindred.

Diablerie
We wanted to make it worth your time to diablerize so ability cooldowns are now reset upon an successful diablerie, giving you a better chance to fight back or escape when ambushed after defeating an enemy.

Mastery challenges

Bloodhunt now features brand new Mastery challenges which are able to unlock player cards. Complete these difficult challenges for the ultimate bragging rights!

Balance changes

Toreador

Clan Power: Projection/Dash

We increase its effectiveness to make it more competitive.

Projection lifetime increased from 10s to 12s.
Projection distance thrown increased from 15m to 16m.

Muse
Passive: Final Act
The muse passive ability now includes a 25% reduction on the regeneration timer in addition to being able to use their powers while downed. We think this will make the Muse a bit more competitive compared to other passive abilities in the game.

Siren
Passive: Kindred Charm
The range has been increased to be a bit longer than civilian vision range, and should now be applied instantly, letting you feed with ease.

Nosferatu

Saboteur
Archetype Power: Sewer Bomb

The Sewer Bomb is getting a bit of a facelift to make it a bit more effective.
Increased initial damage from 20 to 25.
Increased damage over time done by gas from 16/s to 20/s.

Brujah

Vandal
Archetype Power: Earthshock
Decreased stun time from 0.9s to 0.65s.
The Earthshock landing animation takes about 0.5s as before.
This means that players stunned by Earthshock will be able to act way sooner and that the attacker has a much shorter window of advantage.

Weapon Tweaks

As always we listen to the feedback of our players and compare your thoughts against our telematry data. Here are the latest changes that we have done to further improve the weapon balance in Bloodhunt.

Headshot damage has gotten some changes where many of the weapons have had it slightly reduced, a couple of them more then others. Precision weapons remain untouched.

The intention is to reduce the impact of lucky headshots when spraying close range weapons

Here are the nitty gritty numbers:

Pump Shotgun
Decreased headshot multiplier from 1.25x to 1.2x.

Double Barrel
Decreased headshot multiplier from 1.25x to 1.2x.

Silenced SMG
Decreased headshot multiplier from 1.5x to 1.2x.
This weapon is by many considered top tier, so this change also acts as a nerf to give more room for other weapons.

Tommy Gun
Decreased headshot multiplier from 1.5x to 1.2x.
Increased damage per bullet from 13 to 14.
The base damage is done to compensate for the headshot damage reduction, and should in general make this a more consistent weapon less based on luck. It also puts the headshot multiplier more in line with other short range weapons.

Dual Pistols
Decreased headshot multiplier from 1.5x to 1.4x.
The dual pistols gets away with less of a decrease than the above low caliber weapons since they are way more precision based, and we wanted to keep rewarding good aim when using them.

Assault Rifle
Decreased headshot multiplier from 1.5x to 1.4x.

Burst Rifle
Decreased headshot multiplier from 1.5x to 1.4x.
Increased damage per bullet from 25 to 26.
Increased ammo capacity from 15, 21, 30 to 18, 24, 30.

Toggler
Decreased headshot multiplier from 1.5x to 1.4x.
Increased damage per bullet from 26 to 27.

Minigun
Decreased headshot multiplier from 1.5x to 1.2x.
Increased damage per bullet from 15 to 16.

Revolver
Decreased damage per bullet from 50 to 45.

Crossbow
Gas now deals damage to anyone inside the cloud, regardless of if there is any objects in between the player and the center of the cloud.
However, damage from multiple crossbow gas clouds no longer stack

We we think this will make the crossbow feel more consistent and further defines its role in being a weapon that is effective at flushing out enemies that are in hiding behind cover.

Additionally, the gun system was reworked to trigger gunshots with more accurate timing, this makes automatic weapons feel steadier.

Also all gun sounds were reworked to give the game a more realistic and visceral feel of gunshots and bullets whizing and cracking through the air as you engage in firefights.

All guns were updated to work within a new system that changes the gun content based on the size of the space and the location the player is shooting in.

Make sure you try it out with Spatial audio if you can!

As always we love to hear what you think about these improvements so we encourage you do fill in our next community survey when it becomes available.

That’s about it for the Day One patch. Be sure to stay tuned tomorrow for the official launch of Bloodhunt across platforms!

The Sims 4 Update 1.58 Brings New Main Menu & More This April 26

Maxis has released The Sims 4 update 1.58, that brings in a new look for the Main Menu, alongside surveys, new pack filters and more! There are also gameplay-related bug fixes as well. Read on for The Sims 4 April 26 patch notes.

The Sims 4 Update 1.58 | The Sims 4 April 26 Patch Notes:

PC: 1.87.40.1030 / Mac: 1.87.40.1230

Console: Version 1.58

Hello Simmers!

Can you believe that we are already approaching the end of the first quarter of 2022? Where does the time go? We hope you have been enjoying Neighborhood Stories and are looking forward to everything that is coming through the rest of the year.

To round out the first four months of the year, this update brings with it a number of bug fixes including some which have been high on your lists, and a new Main Menu which is more focused on you and your Sims.

Let’s take a look and see what’s been updated with this release.

– The Sims Team

WHAT’S NEW?

New look Main Menu

We have a new look Main Menu and it isn’t just aesthetics.

First thing you will probably notice is the new launch panel on the right, not only does it look different, it has new modular features built in to personalize your experience.

If you are a new Simmer, you’ll notice that the New Game button includes some motivational messages underneath it to help you with your first game experience.

If you have been with The Sims 4 for long enough to create a Saved Game then you’ll notice the Resume button is no longer a giant play icon and instead displays a profile picture of your last active Sim from your last saved session. Your Sim will have a little something to share or say!

Surveys

These little surveys will appear periodically on the Main Menu and can be completed without leaving the game. Some of these surveys will be fun while others could help shape the future of The Sims 4 based on your feedback.

If you prefer to control when you see or don’t see surveys in-game, you can toggle your setting in Game Options > Other under the “Enable in-game surveys”

New Packs Filters

On occasion, when checking out the latest Packs, you might notice a new entry in the Pack filters at the top of the screen. Be sure to check these out when you see them, there could be something new to discover that you might have otherwise missed.

Dynamic Main Menu Panels

Some of the information panels on the Main Menu come with expanding information panels. Simply hover over a panel and the details will present themselves, move off the panel and the information box will collapse down again.

BUG FIXES

The Sims 4

  • Starting a Scenario and attempting to move your household in with an existing household will no longer silently end your Scenario. Now, you will need to complete or cancel your active Scenario before merging households.
  • Fingernails should no longer clip into the fingers and look distorted while creating a Young Adult Female Sim in CAS. We are continuing to review distorted nails in other situations so keep an eye out for additional fixes in this area in future updates.
  • For Simmers on PlayStation and Xbox running into an issue with dropping walls and moving between floors with the D-Pad, we have good news! We have implemented a fix which should restore your D-Pad functionality. If you continue to run into issues please reach out to us on Answers HQ.
  • Simmers that chose to cancel the process of saving a built up lot to My Library while the Lot thumbnails were being generated could find themselves temporarily locked out of navigating the Lot or would experience graphical flickering. This performance impact should now be resolved and the thumbnails will no longer generate behind the scenes after canceling the Save Lot process.
  • We have tidied up the Game Options menu a little by removing the Fill In Empty Lots option. This particular option has been superseded with Neighborhood Stories and the “Move In” functionality.
  • Pulling a prank and breaking the toilet is all fun and games, until you can’t repair it which is exactly what happened to the Sweet Escapes Country Toilet. The toilet is now repairable by your skilled Sims or by calling in a repair service.
  • While planning an event, jumping between Invite Sims and Select a Place tabs will be accurately reflected in the tab icons.
  • The Origin In-Game overlay on PC should resize to the correct resolution if it was open during game client resolution changes.
  • Selecting the button on a video window before the video finished playing was leaving some players with a gray screen. This should no longer happen.

Discover University

  • University can be tough but re-enrolling after being suspended shouldn’t be one of those difficulties. Now when you get your acceptance letter in the mail your Sim will be able to head back and complete their higher education journey.

Outdoor Retreat

  • NPC’s were getting so stressed that they would make the De-stressing Decoction on the grill and then finish it on the stove. Now, they will no longer split their creation of this concoction between grills and stoves.

Décor to the Max

  • The Circle of Infinity wall sculpture comes with plenty of warnings, but after getting lost staring into the circle of infinity, we went and sorted out that infinity frame, which didn’t accurately represent the lighting from the environment around it.
