Insomniac Collectively Decided to “Double Down on Story-Driven Character Action Games;” Founder Talks About Ballooning Development Costs

While Insomniac Games dabbled in multiplayer ventures before (remember: Fuse?), there’s no denying that studio’s forte is developing single-player games like Marvel’s Spider-Man, the Ratchet & Clank franchise and more.

The studio’s last few releases have been focused on single-player and even its known game in development, Marvel’s Wolverine, is also focused on a single-player experience as well. This was no coincidence, and is a joint decision by the studio employees to focus on story-driven games.

Speaking to Game File (subscription required) , Insomniac Games founder Ted Price was asked what his best decision as head of Insomniac was.

Price replied, ““I want to talk about a collective decision that I think we have made as a team, and that is to double down on the story-driven character action games that we make today.”

The studio founder was referring to Insomniac’s past with their Spyro and Ratchet & Clank games, and how, in the mid-2010s, the studio pivoted to making character-driven games.

In addition, as part of the Sony acquisition, Price added, “There was a point around the launch of the PlayStation 5 when it became obvious to us as a team that this really was where our home is.”

Another topic discussed was the ballooning cost of game development. In 2023, Insomniac Games suffered one of the biggest data breaches in the history of video games. Among the confidential items disclosed was the budget of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which was said to be at a staggering $315 million.

In the same chat, Price says he doesn’t see the budget issue as a permanent problem, and surprisingly, he also doesn’t share the clouded and pessistmic viewpoint of some of his peers.

“I think it’s like every challenge that we have faced at Insomniac for the last 31 years,” Price said, “And that is: There are solutions.

Price commented:

“The question always is: How creative are we willing to get to solve those problems?

“And a lot of the time it’s just, first of all, identifying the problem very clearly and asking: ‘Why does it cost this much to make a game? What specifically are we doing that inflates the cost? Is it the way we make decisions? Is it the way we set up our production pipelines? Is it the scope of our games?

“It often is a very complex answer, but we and every development studio need to—like we do—commit to take the time to unravel that, so that we can find real answers, versus just waving our hands and saying, ‘It’s just going to keep going up.’ That’s not reasonable.

“And the last thing I’ll say about this is: We love solving problems. This is what we tend to do, probably like most developers, and we are engaged by that opportunity.”

Hopefully, Insomniac can figure out how to lower the worsening game development budgets that spell doom for most companies if their most recent game isn’t a multi-million selling blockbuster.

In a separate interview, Price mentioned how their time away from Sony was the ‘most stressful period” of the company.

Reddit Down and Having Issues Loading Subreddits This March 14

If you’re having issues loading Reddit’s home page or even any subreddit, it’s not just you. It seems multiple people worldwide are having issues loading the social app as well.

This widespread outage was confirmed by downdetector, which was seen a massive spike in reports in the last 20 minutes.

Update: Everything seems to be back to normal. Carry on, redditors!

Based on our testing, it seems the mobile app is working somewhat, though not by its usual standards. It can load subreddits, but it’s having issues from time to time.

The desktop version, however, is completely broken. Trying to check a subreddit will show the user that the subreddit doesn’t exist, or a page showing that there has been an error such as the one you see above.

So far, the official Reddit status page doesn’t mention of any incidents, though that could change anytime soon. If we get any kind of update, we’ll add it to the article.

Report: Starfield on PS5 Seems to Be Loaded in Backend According to Mods

It’s been rumored since last year that Starfield would be hitting the PS5, and with Xbox doing a big multiplatform push, the likelihood of that happening seems higher than ever.

Today’s latest development seems to have kicked it up a notch, as the official PlayStation logo has been spotted in one of Starfield’s mods.

The image above appears in Bethesda’s creations page for Starfield (spotted by YouTuber 501deshawn). For now, it only appears on one creation, and seems to have been pulled as of press time. That said, images are already floating online, such as the one you see above.

Earlier this month, Bethesda said there are a “lot of exciting things” planned for Starfield this year, and could a PS5 version announcement be one of them? Of course, given Microsoft’s push to publish their games on multiple platforms to earn as much revenue as they could from one title, the sci-fi RPG being announced for PS5 wouldn’t be a surprise. On the contrary, it’s one we’re expecting to happen given Bethesda’s other big game, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, is already confirmed to be hitting PS5 this spring (said to be next month per rumors).

We’ve reached out to Bethesda to see if they have any comment about this and will update the article if we get a response.

If you’ve yet to play the RPG, it’s one of Bethesda’s finest works to date. Our review spoke highly of it with yours truly stating, “There’s so much to love about the game, and honestly, it might just be the best space RPG out there of this caliber.”

The First Descendant Gets New Hotfix for Sigma Sector

As expected, Nexon has released a new hotfix for The First Descendant, which the studio calls hotfix 1.2.10b. This patch, which console gamers will see as The First Descendant update 1.058/1.58, ushers in fixes for Season 2 Episode 2 that was released yesterday.

Expect fixes to the new Sigma Sector Tormentor in the Void Intercept Battle (Abyss), alongside other technical issues.

 Patch Details

– Fixed an issue where the client would close when playing in the Sigma Sector and Tormentor in the Void Intercept Battle (Abyss).

– Fixed an issue where the client would close when pressing the ‘D-pad Left’ button while focused on the ‘Unequip’ button in the Fellow screen using a console pad.

– Fixed the issue where participating in ‘Other Infiltration Support’ in Infiltration Operations grants the completion rewards of the participated operation instead of the selected operation, excluding Amorphous Materials.

– Fixed an issue where players do not respawn correctly on the ground when falling below the surface after defeating the ‘Tormentor’ in the Void Intercept Battle(Abyss).

– Fixed an issue where the UI completion indicator resets when completing the daily mission of the ‘Assist with Serena’s Covert Operations’ event

– Fixed an issue where receiving mail containing both paid and free Calibers does not allow bulk collection using the ‘Acquire All Attached Item’ function.

– Fixed an issue where attempting to purchase items from the shop with insufficient Caliber shows the ‘Insufficient Balance’ popup, but selecting recharge does not proceed with the recharge.

– Fixed an issue where clicking the ‘+’ button displayed in the Caliber possession details does not navigate to the Caliber purchase screen.

– Fixed an issue where purchasing the “Serena Growth Package” while all descendant slots are full would not immediately grant the item, but instead send it to the mailbox.

Two Point Museum Latest Update 1.003.002 Adds Support to Drop Jobs, Other Quality-of-Life Items

Two-Point Studios’ latest sim game, Two Point Museum, has just gotten a new patch that brings quality-of-life items and various bug fixes affecting all platforms. Console players should see this as Two Point Museum update 1.003.002, and it has the same changelog as the PC version.

Here’s what’s new per the developers:

  • Fixed for subgoal for unlocked POI’s becoming out of sync with the number of POI’s unlocked
  • Fixed a bug where judgement clouder wasn’t always given as intended
  • Fixed some plot objectives in Desert level being impossible if you upgraded the workshop project before making one in Desert
  • Fixed Typo in “On Ice” dilemma
  • Fix for Act 1 Objective in Wailon Lodge not ticking to 85% in some cases
  • Fixed double spaces in Mudbury Festival sign sponsorship offer
  • Fix for non-room doors selecting the building. This should hopefully stop accidental selling of buildings
  • Fix a bug where sometime advisor messages were not disappearing
  • Add double confirmation step for selling buildings in all cases (Sorry we missed this!!)
  • Change the starting buzz bonuses for the first spirit spawned in Wailon Lodge to be a bed instead of a Gramophone
  • Updated Ambience Speaker and Scent Situator functional descriptions to be clearer (these items increase the amount of Buzz that guests receive from viewing the exhibits)

  • Security: Increase how long it takes thieves to steal exhibits (this should help give security enough time to reach to camera’s spotting thieves)
  • Security: Increase the cooldown of thief guild raids in lower crime levels

  • Added support to allow characters to be dropped on jobs outside of their assigned staff zones. Once they have finished this job, they will revert back to their normal assigned staff zone
  • Remove queues from Alien Tech exhibit interactions

Two-Point Studios is also investigating issues with Mac, Legion Go, and controllers. They confirmed that they are investigating security, tours, and balance feedback from the community and will release an update in the near future.

Frame Rate and Loading Time Issues Addressed in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii Patch 1.13

Earlier this month. RGG Studio released a patch for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii that aimed to fix a few nagging bugs in the game. Unfortunately, the patch itself brought in a few issues that affected the game’s frame rate and even loading.

SEGA and RGG Studio aims to resolve that now with the release of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii patch 1.13 that’s available on PC and consoles.

Long Loading Times Addressed by New Pirate Yakuza Patch 1.13

Here’s what got fixed per SEGA:

  • Fixed a bug that prevented the game from progressing when opening the “Inventory” menu after redeeming the “Golden Ball” from the “Sicko Snap” menu.
    • (In cases where Shen has already sent you a message about the transaction, the scenario will progress even if you do not have all of the Golden Balls in your inventory.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the sub-story “The One” movie from being displayed correctly in some cases.
  • Fixed an issue in 1.12 where the frame rate dropped and loading times had increased compared to previous versions.

That seems to be it. Given the game isn’t really riddled with bugs, don’t expect frequent updates to it like live service games.

If you’ve yet to play Pirate Yakuza, our review mentions, “Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii may not be moving the series forward in much regard to its gameplay and story, but at the end of the day, it does what it sets out to do. It’s fun and provides fans with a wild, over-the-top adventure full of eccentric characters, absurd humor, and dramatic plot twists.”

Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii update 1.013 is now available to download. It brings with it a new set of bug fixes.

For those who were having performance issues from the last update, it seems that there’s a fix for that too.

Battlefield 2042’s Next Update Brings the War Machine Event as Part of Patch 8.6

While DICE is tinkering away on Battlefield Labs, the latest Battlefield game that’s out on retail, Battefield 2042, still has some juice left in the tank.

The studio revealed Battlefield 2042’s next update as patch 8.6, which will be released on March 18. Alongside the gameplay tweaks, this update also introduces the War Machine Event.

Battlefield 2042 New War Machine Event Overview

Time-limited Event: War Machine

With update 8.6.0 players will jump into our new time-limited event War Machine, which comes with a variety of new modes, and a brand new event pass.

Coming March 18:

Rush Override

War Machine’s first event mode, Override is a Rush PvE mode that pits humans vs machines in a steely brawl where four players must work together as a squad to overcome AI-controlled robots on:

  • Redacted
  • Arica Harbor
  • Exposure
  • Noshahr Canals

Domination

Coming to Battlefield 2042 for the first time, players will know Domination as a fast-paced, small version of an Infantry only Conquest on:

  • Arica Harbor
  • Noshahr Canals
  • Stadium
  • Battle of the Bulge
  • Breakaway

King of the Hill

War Machine continues to receive new content as this event unfolds, with King of the Hill, a new time-limited mode, arriving on April 1. Stay tuned to one of our upcoming Update Notes to learn more about what to expect from King of the Hill.

Event Pass

War Machine will bring an all-new event pass to Battlefield 2042 giving you the chance to earn more unlockables, including BFCs, legendary items, and 8 new unique specialist skins.   • Dev comment: We want the AN-94 to have a strong identity around the hyperburst, to be a great choice when you want precision in the close-to-mid-range combat range.

  • 8 muzzle attachments, a wide variety of choices to go in loud or quiet.
  • 9 scope attachments to choose from.
  • 8 underbarrel attachments, including GP-30 varieties and bipod functionality.

As part of the transition from Battlefield Portal to Battlefield 2042 All-Out-Warfare the AN-94 will also arrive with mastery, progression and unlocks which you have come to expect from vaulted weaponry.

Battlefield 2042 Update 8.6 Patch Notes

Maps:

  • Fixed a bug where players could access an unintended area via spawn beacon near the C Flag on Redacted.

Vehicles:

  • Added full auto throttle option for airplanes. Can be toggled on or off.
  • Fixed inconsistent camera behavior on Portal’s HMMWV.
  • Fixed a bug where the red vignette indicating your soldier is at low health would not show while sitting inside open seats of vehicles.

Weapons:

  • Fixed an issue where the AK5C sometimes had doubled handling modifiers from suppressors under certain circumstances.
  • GP-30 HE now deals consistent damage on direct impact. Previously the lack of feedback could cause confusion when hitting an enemy directly.
  • Added bullet type icon to the Close Combat magazine for the BSV-M, which was missing before.

Gameplay Flow & Social:

  • Fixed a bug where the remaining player count would be displayed in the social menu for friends playing Hazard Zone. No telling your friends how many enemies are left, you meanie!
  • Reintroduced gameplay tips and warcraft on the loading screen but they are now split into the two types.
  • Added inputs for toggling which type of gameplay tip is displayed and how to cycle to the next tip.
  • Made some smaller improvements to the main menu UI when there are weekly missions active outside of any event.
  • UI Ribbon notifications are now no longer visible when the HUD is disabled.

While there’s a ton of leaks about the new Battlefield game via its first playtest, when it comes to official info, DICE has confirmed that crouch sprint, combat dive and even landing roll maneuvers will be part of the game.

Silent Hill f Reveal Manages to Pique Interest, Story Details, Screenshots and Why It’s for Mature Audiences Revealed

As part of today’s Silent Hill Broadcast, Konami has revealed details of the next game being made for the franchise titled “Silent HIll f.” Announced two years ago, this is the first time we’re actually seeing the game unveiled.

While there’s no release date announced, we do know it’s set to be released on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Based on what we’ve seen so far, developer NeoBards Entertainment is on the right track.

Alongside the video, we also get our first story details straight from Konami:

The developers describe the content of the game as:

This game contains depictions of gender discrimination, child abuse, bullying, drug-induced hallucinations, torture, and graphic violence.

This game is set in Japan in the 1960s and contains depictions based on the customs and culture of that time. These depictions do not reflect the opinions or values of the developers or any individuals involved.

There’s no release date for Silent Hill f yet, but hopefully, that’ll be soon.

In other Silent Hill news, Konami has already announced before that they are continuing their collaboration with Bloober Team on what we presume to be for Silent Hill 3. It’s not specified what game they are working together in, other than it’s based on Konami’s IP.

Roblox CEO’s Worrying Response to Parents Concerned About Kids Playing Roblox

Roblox is one of the most popular games for kids and young adults. However, because of its popularity, many parents are worried about the risks of their children using the platform. These worries often include things like cyberbullying, inappropriate content, and the chance of online predators.

In light of these concerns, Roblox CEO Dave Baszucki has addressed the issue directly, advising parents who are uneasy about their children using Roblox to simply stop them. “My first message would be, if you’re not comfortable, don’t let your kids be on Roblox,” he said.

Speaking with BBC News, Baszucki added, “That sounds a little counter-intuitive, but I would always trust parents to make their own decisions.”

Baszucki went on to say, “We do in the company take the attitude that any bad, even one bad incident, is one too many. We watch for bullying, we watch for harassment, we filter all of those kinds of things, and I would say behind the scenes, the analysis goes on all the way to, if necessary, reaching out to law enforcement.”

Last year, the company introduced new rules for minors under 13 after a report highlighted the risks for children on the platform. According to the company, Roblox now has AI systems that monitor communications. “We don’t condone any type of image-sharing on our own platform, and you’ll see us getting more and more, I think, way beyond where the law is on this type of behaviour,” said Baszucki.

Baszucki also compared building Roblox to what Walt Disney must have felt when he built Disney and made it what it is today. “It’s little like having the opportunity he had a long time ago when he was designing the Magic Kingdom.”

When asked to describe Roblox in three words, Baszucki chose four: “The future of communication.”

In related news, Turkey has banned Roblox over issues related to child safety. The Turkish government took this step after reports of inappropriate content on the platform which is primarily used by children and young adults.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 Officially Announced, But Space Marine 2 Won’t Be Going Anywhere

Focus Entertainment Publishing, Games Workshop, and Saber Interactive have officially announced Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3. Right now, details are scarce. We don’t know which platforms it will be on or when it will be released, but this news is sure to excite the millions of fans of the Warhammer 40,000 universe.

The announcement was accompanied by a teaser trailer, although it’s hard to call it that. The 15-second video shows a still image of the game’s logo and its main character, Demetrian Titus, with the sounds of lightning and pouring rain in the background.

Development of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 Has Begun

From the official statement, we learn that the development of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 3 has just started. This means it will probably be a few years before we see it in action or available in stores. Saber Interactive also confirmed that, despite working on the new game, they will continue to support Space Marine 2 (which was released only six months ago) with new content and updates in the coming years.

“We have been honored by the incredible response from fans following the launch of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II. We will continue to support the game with exciting content and regular updates in the coming years. Today, we are thrilled to announce that the adventure will continue with Space Marine III. Players can look forward to an immersive campaign, a multiplayer mode, and innovations that will redefine the standards of third-person action games. Developed in close collaboration with Games Workshop, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine III will take the genre to new heights by introducing large-scale battles that are even more spectacular,” said John Bert, Vice CEO of Focus Entertainment Publishing.

“Space Marine II has proven to be a transformative game for Saber. It is the culmination of everything we have learned about game development in our 25 years in the business. We are now starting to develop Space Marine 3, a game that carries with it tremendous expectations from our rapidly expanding fanbase. While we will continue to support and grow the Space Marine II universe over the coming years, we will take all our learnings and apply them to an even bigger and more spectacular game for the third installment. We view this as an opportunity to create a true love letter to the Warhammer 40,000 universe,” said Matthew Karch, CEO of Saber Interactive.

In other news, Saber Interactive has recently released the new 6.2 hotfix for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2. The update includes adjustments to several perks, such as Heightened Vigour, Close Targeting, Concentrated Fire, Perseverance, and Restless Fortitude, with damage increases and duration bonuses.

Rainbow Six Siege X Has the Game Going Free-to-Play But There’s a Catch

Back in February, Ubisoft announced Rainbow Six Siege X, which we didn’t know if it was a sequel, a new season or whatnot. Well, that changes today. Ubisoft invited MP1st to check out Rainbow Six Siege X ahead of today’s launch, and what we saw could change the game forever.

First off, the big news: Rainbow Six Siege X transitions the game to be a free-to-play title. However, it won’t be completely F2P, as Ranked mode and Siege Cup will only be available for premium (read: paid) game buyers. So if you want to play those modes, you’ll have to buy the base game.

According to Ubisoft, Rainbow Six Siege X is “the largest and most transformative evolution in the game’s history,” and will be released on June 10 across all platforms.

Rainbow Six Siege X Introduces Dual Front 6v6 Mode

Siege X will introduce “Dual Front” a new permanent and evolving 6v6 mode.

What is Dual Front About?

In this mode, players must secure three enemy sectors while defending their own across an all-new map called District, designed exclusively for Dual Front. Players will choose from a curated roster of 35 operators, mixing both Attackers and Defenders for the first time in Siege to combine their unique abilities, weapons and gadgets in ways never seen before.

Throughout the match, players can venture into the Neutral Sector to take on time-limited assignments and earn rewards that will help their squad gain an edge over their opponents. While these tasks can alter the course of the match, they also require strategic decision-making, as pursuing them may leave key positions vulnerable to the opposing team.

With the ability to respawn and repick a new operator for tactical adjustments, the new mode offers a more approachable experience for both new and current players, while staying true to the tactical excellence that’s unique to Siege. Dual Front will receive regular updates, with the selection of curated operators rotating twice a season and Neutral Sector assignments changing each season.

Players can check out Dual Front starting today until March 19 in the Siege beta on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S. The beta will include the full Dual Front experience and complete roster of 35 operators. It will also include the additional Siege X updates including destructible ingredients and rappel upgrades as well as custom games.

Rainbow Six Siege X Enhances Classic Siege Maps, Rappel System and More

Players can expect the following improvements once Siege X rolls around.

  • New lighting, shadows and up to 4K textures
  • Clubhouse, Chalet, Border, Bank and Kafe will be enhanced at launch
  • Three additional modernized maps added each season
  • The update will add gameplay features that deepen the game’s tactical core, creating a more dynamic and immersive experience
  • New destructible ingredients, including fire extinguishers, gas pipes and metal detectors, will offer players more strategic opportunities to surprise and outplay their opponents, using the environment to their advantage.
  • Rappel navigation will be more fluid with improved controls, allowing players to run horizontally and jump around building corners.

The audio experience will be overhauled, including a rework of audio propagation and reverberation, enabling players to gather critical intel through audio cues to better pinpoint the location of enemy players on the map.

The onboarding experience is also being refreshed, and will be designed to help new players master the basics through tutorials and field training before being thrown to the wolves in live matches.

Rainbow Six Siege X Refreshes Anti-Cheat with R6 ShieldGuard

The update on June 10 will also unveil SheldGuard, the game’s multi-faceted approach to anti-cheat. R6 ShieldGuard will unify all existing anti-cheat initiatives and will introduce new technologies to safeguard the game, including live security updates that will occur without the need for scheduled maintenance, making cheats difficult to create.

Current player protection features, including anti-toxicity initiatives that will improve the reputation system, will also undergo ongoing development and refinement.

Rainbow Six Siege Going F2P Details

New players will be able to access Dual Front, Unranked, Quick Play for free, with the ability to earn up to 26 operators through progression. Players who upgrade to the Premium Edition will be able to unlock Ranked and Siege Cup once they progress to level 50, and it will give immediate access to more operators.

Current players who own the game will retain all previously unlocked content, including operators, inventory and progression. What’s more, they will also receive exclusive veteran rewards based on the year they joined the game.

That’s a lot to take in! Just be ready for a new glut of R6 Siege players entering from June 10 onwards.

Over 1,000 Improvements Inlcuded in Patch 1.2 of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Update 1.020

Warhorse has released the latest major update for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, and this is one beefy patch, as it houses over 1,000 improvements. Called patch 1.2 by the developers, console gamers will see this as Kingdom Come Deliverance update 1.013.

This title update houses a free barber shop DLC for Henry, gameplay balance changes, NPC behavioral adjustments, and even modding support for the PC version via the Steam Workshop.

The complete patch notes are available below, and non-English speakers will be glad to hear that this also brings in country-specific localization, delivering refined Chinese translations (Traditional and Simplified), an improved Korean front for better clarity, ane newly recorded French voiceovers.

Moreover, Warhorse says that there are “hundreds of other fixes and improvements not mentioned in detail” included in this patch. There’s a lot more patches and content set to be released in the crititically-acclaimed RPG, as the devs have revealed the first roadmap for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

Phasmophobia Update 1.000.010 FIxes Bleasdale Farmhouse Bugs, Ghost Line of Sight and More

There’s another new Phasmophobia patch available for download on all platforms, and this fixes the Bleasdale Farmhouse issues, and more importantly, the ghost line of sight when players hid in select spots, which are bugs that surfaced after last week’s patch.

Players will see this as Phasmophobia update 1.000.010, and this even includes console-specific fixes too. The desync issues on PS5 are now fixed, and Xbox gamers would see less crashes when playing the horror game. For PC players, this should appear as hotfix v0.12.0.2 on your start screen.

Phasmophobia Bleasdale Farmhouse Issues Fixed in New Update Version 1.000.010

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that was causing inconsistencies in ghost line of sight when hiding in select spots.
  • Fixed a non host crash that would occur when the ghost interacted with the clothes in the Bleasdale Farmhouse wardrobe.
  • Fixed an issue in Bleasdale Farmhouse that caused the bowl to collide with the player.
  • Fixed an issue that caused ghosts to be able to see the player between the double glass doors in Bleasdale Farmhouse

Xbox / PlayStation

  • Fixed a common crash on Xbox Series X/S that was introduced in the last update.
  • Implemented several PlayStation performance improvements.
  • Fixed an issue that caused a visual desync on PlayStation when opening certain doors in Bleasdale Farmhouse.

Astro Bot Update 1.016 Adds Armored Hardcore and Last Announced New Bot

This is how fast four weeks went by. Team Asobi’s last announced content drop for the Vicious Void Galaxy free DLC is now live as Astro Bot update 1.016. This adds the Armored Hardcore level and another new boy for players to rescue.

The download clocks in at 390MB, and includes the free level, the new bot (which we’ll name below), and a new trophy called “Rolling Rescue” to accompany the content.

Astro Bot Update 1.016 Times the Introduction of a New Robot With the Launch of a New Game

This week’s new bot is none other than Ezio from Assassin’s Creed! This new bot coincides with the release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows next week on March 20.

While Ezio is not in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the character is the protagonist in multiple games in the series kicking off with Assassin’s Creed 2, AC2: Discovery in 2009, AC: Brotherhood in 2010, AC: Rwvelations in 2011, and even the protagonists in the Assaassin’s Creed short films.

Today’s new level is the last content drop that was revealed by Team Asobi last month. There’s no word if we’re getting another content drop for the game, though I wouldn’t bet against it, since the character from the poster that was posted by Arrowhead Game Studoos (and soon deleted) has still not made an appearance. Chances are, that character will make an appearance in the game in the future, and that means they will be a new bot to rescue.

In terms of new bots, everything is fair game, just don’t expect Cloud or any Final Fantasy 7 characters to make an appearance, as Square Enix has shot down that idea last year.

If Team Asoboi announces another content drop for the game, we’ll be sure to let our readers know ASAP.

Marvel Rivals New Update Buffs New Hero and Fixes Hero Ability Bugs in Patch 1.000.012

NetEase has heard the community’s plea, and the Human Torch is getting buffed in Marvel Rivals’ latest update released today, March 13! Alongside that buff, Iron Man is getting a nerf, and there are various hero bugs (Bucky, Namor, etc.) all getting fixed in this patch that console gamers should see as Marvel Rivals update version 1.000.012.

Note that the hero bug fixes are different from the nerfs and buffs in the section below. There are also fixes related to Competitive mode’s voice chat overlay added too.

Marvel Rivals New Update for March 13 Buffs the Human Torch

DUELIST

Human Torch

The fiery hero is getting a boost to his primary attack damage output and Ultimate Ability, enhancing his solo takedown potential.

  • Increase Fire Cluster projectile speed from 120m/s to 150m/s and projectile count from 12 to 14.
  • Increase the energy cost of Supernova (ultimate ability) from 3400 to 4000; Increase activation wave damage from 70 to 80 and Flame Tornado damage from 100 per/s to 120 per/s.

Iron Man

The Armored Avenger will see slight adjustments to his primary attack in both states, balancing his mid-range offensive capabilities.

  • Decrease Repulsor Blast stage 1 and 2 direct hit damage from 55 to 40; Increase spell field damage from 35 to 50. Decrease stage 3 direct hit damage from 65 to 50; Increase spell field damage from 40 to 60.
  • Decrease Repulsor Blast (Armor Overdrive) direct hit damage decreased from 55 to 50; Increase spell field damage from 55 to 65.

STRATEGIST

Cloak & Dagger

The duality duo will see improvements in their healing abilities, making them more versatile for various team compositions.

5. Peni’s Spiders Sneaky Escape: Resolved an issue where the self-destructing Spider-Drones from Peni Parker’s Bionic Spider-Nest would penetrate the floor to seek out foes when webs were present above and below. Now, these little guys know their place—no more sneaky escapes!

6. Spit vs Sea: Fixed a rare issue where if Namor unleashed his Ultimate Ability while still in the air after being spat out from Jeff the Land Shark’s Ultimate Ability, there was a small chance that it would do no damage.

7. Bucky’s Reload Rumble: Resolved a bug where the Winter Soldier’s Tainted Voltage automatic reload could fail to trigger after firing and immediately using his Trooper’s Fist ability. Bucky’s firepower is now as relentless as his mission for justice!

8. Hand Hook Confusion: Fixed an issue where if the Winter Soldier used Bionic Hook during the slow-motion match over moment, it could cause abnormal arm model display in the next round. Now, Bucky’s got his look—and his lethal arm—back on point!
9. Wolverine’s Claw Coordination: Resolved a rare discrepancy between his animation and effects when Wolverine executed the dive of his Ultimate Ability from the highest point. Now, when Logan strikes, it’s as precise and impactful as his adamantium claws!

Another week has gone by, and a new update is now available for The First Descendant. This is officially patch 1.2.10 which is update 1.057/1.57. The biggest addition is a new main quest called ‘Sigma Sector’.

Main Quest: Sigma Sector

ㄴDuring the <Sigma Sector main quest>, completing the <Basics Training for Descendants> allows you to check the <List of Major Battlefields during the Apocalypse> in a record.
ㄴ If you investigate all traces of the Early Descendants listed in this record, you will receive a special Chest Attachment.

New Content: Sigma Sector Dropoff Operation

– Sigma Sector has been restricted for a century due to the strong Void Erosion phenomena there. In a land where nothing was thought to survive, now traces of the enemy have been found.
Penetrate the powerful Void Storm and find out what’s going on in Sigma Sector.
– Sigma Sector Dropoff Operation becomes available after completing the main quest ‘Responsibility, Regret, and Atonement.’
– The features of Sigma Sector Dropoff Operation are as follows:
ㄴ A new field, Sigma Sector, is added.
ㄴSigma Sector features a new type of monsters from the Legion of Immortality, the Defects.
ㄴSigma Sector consists of two zones, Broken Boundary and Isolated Desert, with two difficulty levels, Normal and High-risk, based on the Storm Level.
ㄴOne of the four missions for each zone and difficulty level is randomly selected and carried out.
ㄴReaching Mastery Rank 15 and completing an Isolated Desert mission unlocks Broken Boundary on High-risk Difficulty.

How to obtain High-Value Relics
– Today’s Bonus is available once a day per zone in the Sigma Sector on High-risk Difficulty.
– You can obtain 1 High-Value Relic for today’s bonus, with a maximum of 2 per day.
– Today’s Bonus rewards become available when you unlock the Arche Tuning System.

– Added a new Descendant, Serena Antonietta.

Serena’s Skills
– Passive: Divinity
ㄴSerena receives bonus stats when in midair.
– Active 1: Sacred Flame
ㄴFires flames in the direction of the crosshair, dealing damage and inflicting Repentance on enemies and granting Blessing to allies.
ㄴPenetrates terrain when used on the ground and explodes on contact with the ground when used in midair.
ㄴRepentance deals continuous damage and reduces the enemy’s Fire Resistance, and firearm attacks against enemies inflicted with Repentance have a chance to recover Rounds for the firearm in use.
ㄴBlessing heals Serena for a percentage of her Max HP every second.
– Active 2: Ascension
ㄴ A toggle skill that drastically reduces gravity when used and grants various effects depending on the Rounds when attacking with a firearm in midair.
ㄴHowever, using it adjusts the Grappling Hook cooldown and Jump.
ㄴGeneral Rounds: Increases Multi-Hit Chance and Multi-Hit Damage.
ㄴSpecial Rounds: Deals AoE firearm damage to nearby targets based on the firearm damage dealt.
ㄴImpact Rounds: Recovers MP on a critical hit.
ㄴHigh-Power Rounds: Has a chance to deal additional Fire skill damage.
– Active 3: Soar
ㄴWhen used on the ground, Serena soars high into the air. When used in midair, she moves quickly in the input direction.
ㄴWhen used in midair, holding down the skill key makes her move for a certain period of time.
ㄴAdditionally, using the skill reloads the currently equipped weapon and resets the number of her Jumps.
– Active 4: Redemption
ㄴWhen used on the ground, grants Prayer of Redemption to Serena and nearby allies.
ㄴWhen used in midair, grants Redemption’s Judgment to Serena.
ㄴPrayer of Redemption significantly reduces incoming damage for a certain number of hits, and recovers HP and MP when the effect is removed.
ㄴRedemption’s Judgment deals powerful additional AoE damage to the surrounding area based on Serena’s HP when she attacks with a firearm.

Skill Modules
– Skill Module 1: Divine Surge (Active 4)
ㄴQuickly flies forward and inflicts Knockdown on collision, and deals large amounts of damage on landing.
ㄴCreates Purifying Blaze along the path and inflicts Repentance on targets hit.
ㄴRepentance deals continuous damage and reduces the enemy’s Fire Resistance, and firearm attacks against enemies inflicted with Repentance have a chance to recover Rounds for the firearm in use.
ㄴWhen used in midair, the angle of movement is adjusted in the direction of the crosshair.
– Skill Module 2: Hymn (Active 3)
ㄴWhen used on the ground, Serena soars high into the air and leaves a Hymn of Exaltation on the ground, which increases the Jump of all allies within range.
ㄴWhen used in midair, Serena moves and grants Hymn of Vitality to nearby allies, increasing their Movement Speed.
ㄴAdditionally, using the skill reloads the currently equipped weapon and resets the number of her Jumps.

– Added new External Components.
– New External Components can be obtained from Sigma Sector

Module Settings Implant System
– Added the Module Settings Implant System, which allows the transfer of Module Settings applied to the Normal Descendant to the Ultimate Descendant.
– Transferring to the Ultimate Descendant requires the Photonic Implanter.
– The Max Capacity UP and assigned Module Socket Types of the Normal Descendant can be transferred to the Ultimate Descendant as is.
ㄴThis means that both Energy Activator and Crystallization Catalyst applications are transferable.
ㄴ However, the assigned Socket Type is implanted into the same slot position, and the initial Module type of a standard Descendant is not implanted.
– After the implant, the Normal Descendant loses the Max Capacity UP and assigned Module Socket Types.
ㄴHowever, any duplicate Max Capacity UP and assigned Module Socket Types applied to both Normal and Ultimate are returned as Consumables.

Arche Tuning System
– Added the Arche Tuning System that enhances your Descendant’s abilities.
– The system unlocks when you complete the main quest ‘Into the Storm.’
ㄴ A sub quest is available to help you understand the Arche Tuning features.
– Using the system requires Arche Tuning, which is acquired when your Unique Arche Factor level increases.
– You can increase your Unique Arche Factor level by obtaining and accumulating.
– Unique Arche Factor EXP can be obtained from various content.

ㄴOnly the same Descendants (Normal, Ultimate) are treated as a single Descendant Group.
ㄴFor a Descendant Group with only the Normal Descendant, both the Normal and Ultimate will be treated as a single Descendant Group when the Ultimate is added later.
– Arche Tuning consists of multiple Nodes.
ㄴEach Node has a Tier, and the value of a Node’s applied effect is dependent on its Tier.
ㄴNodes require Arche Tuning to activate, and cannot be activated without it.
– You can start activating Nodes that are closest to the Tuning Starting Point.
ㄴThe Nodes that can be activated are applied with a separate effect, allowing you to discern which Nodes can be activated.
ㄴYou can only activate Nodes that are adjacent to an activated Node.
– Activated Nodes can be reset.
ㄴYou can reset each individual Node, or all Nodes at once through Full Reset.
ㄴResetting returns the Arche Tuning used for activation.
– Loadouts and Presets are available.
ㄴ A total of three loadout slots are provided.

Special Operation Hard Difficulty Map Changes
– The map for Special Operation Hard Difficulty has been updated.
ㄴResource Defense: Echo Swamp → Fortress
ㄴMine Blockade: The Sterile Land → White-night Gulch
– The EXP granted in each middle section of Special Operations on Hard Difficulty has been removed or reduced, and the same amount has been added to the EXP rewards for defeating monsters in each wave.
– The chances of earning rewards for defeating monsters have been adjusted due to the change in the number of monsters.
ㄴThe total EXP earned remains the same or is slightly higher than before.

Four New Ultimate Weapons
(1) Malevolent (Hand Cannon)
– Acquirable from Battle Pass.
– Unique Ability: Malicious Pain
ㄴHitting an enemy creates a Bladed Cog.
ㄴThe Bladed Cog bounces between multiple enemies, dealing damage.
ㄴHitting a Weak Point creates additional Bladed Cogs.
(2) Truly Deadly Arson (Beam Rifle)
– Blueprints, codes, and materials can be obtained in Sigma Sector (Normal)
– Unique Ability: Double Tap, Double Check
ㄴHitting an enemy inflicts Void Fire.
ㄴWhen a Burn-related effect is inflicted, Void Fire explodes, dealing damage and transforming Burn to a more powerful effect, Inferno.
ㄴInferno nullifies Void Fire.
ㄴOnly Fire ATK applies to this weapon.
ㄴOther Attribute ATKs are converted to Fire ATK at a certain ratio.
(3) Ancient Knight (Assault Rifle)
– Blueprints, codes, and materials can be obtained in Sigma Sector on High-risk Difficulty.
– Unique Ability: Descending Judgment
ㄴReloading in midair grants Float.
ㄴㄴ Increases ATK Drop-off Starting Distance and ATK Drop-off Ending Distance.
ㄴㄴ Hitting an enemy procs HP recovery.
ㄴWhen multi-hit triggers in midair, grants Atonement.
ㄴㄴ Multi-Hit Damage increases for each stack of Atonement.
ㄴFloat and Atonement are removed when you touch the ground.
(4) A-TAMS (Sniper Rifle)
– Blueprints, codes, and materials can be obtained in Sigma Sector on High-risk Difficulty.
– Unique Ability: Electronic Arche Infusion
ㄴWhen aiming, continuously consumes MP to fill the gauge.
ㄴWhen firing, deals increased additional damage based on the filled gauge.
Weapon
– Capped the Fire Rate of weapons at 2000.
– Added a new stat, Multi-Hit Damage.
ㄴEach firearm has its own value, which may vary.

Void Intercept Battle
– You can now check Battle Info in the Intercept Battle Entrance UI.
ㄴThe Battle Info page provides information about the stats and battle tactics of the Colossus.
Void Intercept Battles (Abyss): Tormentor
– The Colossus in the Void Intercept Battle (Abyss) has been changed to Tormentor.
– To intercept Tormentor, you must reach Mastery Rank 18 and clear the ‘The Most Powerful Colossus’ quest.
– Tormentor
ㄴThe Tormentor is an Electric-attributed Colossus.
ㄴThe Tormentor spawns Plasma Cubes.
ㄴPlasma Cubes are difficult to destroy with normal attacks.
ㄴPlasma Cubes are vulnerable to continuous damage.
ㄴWhen the Tormentor enters the Void Reflux mode, it creates a thunderstorm to press the field.
ㄴTake advantage of the Tormentor’s vulnerability by actively utilizing Toxic attacks.

Photo Mode
– Added Photo Mode.
– Photo Mode is accessible through the ESC menu and can also be entered via the shortcut feature on the ring menu.
ㄴThere are no restrictions on the use of the Photo Mode feature, but it will be forcibly terminated in situations such as DBNO / death / teleport / map movement.
– You can select a pre-designated preset when entering Photo Mode.
ㄴPresets are pre-selected shooting options for the Photo Mode, and even if you don’t select a specific preset, you can set the Photo Mode options to achieve the same effects as the preset.
Preset Configuration
ㄴDefault: The default settings for Photo Mode
ㄴPortrait: Ideal for taking portraits, applying depth of field and blurring the background.
ㄴBackground: Ideal for taking background photos, allowing you to capture a sharp shot of the entire screen.

Customization Loadout System
– Added a customization loadout system.
ㄴYou can set different customizations for each loadout slot.
– Three customization loadout slots are provided by default, and up to two slots can be purchased additionally.
– You can change the customization loadout slots in the Customize menu and the Inventory.
ㄴHowever, the customization loadout slots can only be purchased in the Customize menu.
Eyebrows and Beard Dye Feature
– Added a feature that enables dyeing your Descendant’s eyebrows and beard.
ㄴYou can dye eyebrows and beard using hair dye items.
ㄴ A color that has been used is saved to that Descendant, and is available to dye eyebrows and beard slots freely afterward.
ㄴOnly the Descendants with beards can dye their beards.

Fellow

– Added a new Fellow, Vespers Hunting Dog.
– You can acquire blueprints, codes, and materials for the Vespers Hunting Dog from the Void Vessel Hard Difficulty.
ㄴ Hagios Sheepdog research material can be obtained in Void Vessel (Normal).
– If Hagios Sheepdog was set as a Target Reward in Void Vessel (Hard) before the update, progress will no longer increase. Please reset your Target Reward accordingly.
Interact
– You can interact with the new Fellow. Enjoy the diverse aspects of the Fellow.
Growth
– Fellow can acquire EXP through Enhancement Items and “Level Up” with it.
– Enhancement Items can be acquired with research blueprint and materials from Void Vessel.
Owned Abilities
– Grant Module Drop Chance Increase Modifier.
ㄴThe stats increases gradually per the growth.
– Item Auto Pickup: Automatically pickup items in the Consumable and Inventory within a certain range.
ㄴThe “item recognition range” increases gradually per the growth.
– Auto-Dismantle Items: Periodically dismantle items that the Descendant acquired. Dismantling is performed when Inventory is full of items.
ㄴItems for Dismantling are selected per the “Exclude from Junk” setting.
– Auto Refill Rounds: Automatically refills the Rounds for using weapon at regular intervals.
ㄴ As the Fellow grows, the “Auto Refill Rounds Cycle” gradually improves.
– Changed the abilities of the existing Fellow, Hagios Sheepdog.

– The chances of obtaining blueprints and codes for the Fellow in the Void Vessel have been changed to be the same regardless of whether you have the Fellow equipped.

Besides that, this update also brings a set of new changes and fixes.

  • Shortened the way of some of the OSD walking paths to avoid NPCs losing aggro to the OSD
  • Moved Worldborder to fix building prevention on one of the smaller islands
  • Updated Some of the big statues on the map with new models for better quality & less meshing
  • Replaced one easy OSD drop spawnpoint with a legendary OSD drop spawnpoint to increase legendary spawn chance

  • Fixed Cyclops 360 attack not hitting correctly
  • Fixed Cyclops Wrong damage multiplier which makes it possible to fight him without playing his eye mechanic
  • Fixed Element Vein harvest does not scale correctly with tool item damage

  • Fixed Element Vein & OSD spawn under the landscape
  • Fixed Lightning Creatures glowing purple instead of yellow
  • Fixed Meshholes
  • Fixed Water physics issues
  • Fixed Snow mask issues
  • Fixed Groundrock graphic issues
  • Fixed Moschops can’t harvest sand on wandering
  • Fixed Lightning Creatures spawning with wrong colors
  • Fixed Flying be allowed in artifact caves by default (You can still allow it via server settings)
  • Fixed Underwater Rocks giving less stone than expected
  • Fixed Lava Damage Volume issues
  • Fixed Teleport to Therokis West & East not working
  • Fixed Cave Lighting issues
