Lords of the Fallen v2.5.267 Released for Update 1.099

CI Games has released a hotfix for Lords of the Fallen, which is for version 2.5.267. Console gamers will see this download appear as Lords of the Fallen update 1.099 (complete version 1.099.000), and this should be a small download across all platforms.

For the complete info on what got fixed today, read on.

Lords of the Fallen’s New Hotfix on February 10 Applies 1.099 Fixes

Lords of the Fallen Update 1.042

Hotfix Notes

  • Resolved an instance where players could receive an additional Veteran of the Veil armour set upon completing Veteran Mode when it was already stored in the Coffer.
  • Improved Moth Trail Guidance behaviour across Skyrest Bridge, Pilgrim’s Perch, Forsaken Fen, Fitzroy Gorge, Lower Calrath, Sunless Skein, the Cistern, Fief of the Chill Curse, and the Abbey of the Hallowed Sisters.

Addressed multiple co-op crashes tied to:

  • Animation synchronisation between players, including item pickups.
  • NPC vendor transactions.
  • Save synchronisation.

There was also a patch released last month that focused on addressing community feedback such as:

Eidolon of Adyr Fixes:

  • Fixed lock-on no longer disappearing when Eidolon of Adyr teleports during the fight.

  • Fixed the correct ending now triggering properly after defeating Eidolon of Adyr.

  • Removed redundant invisible collisions from the Eidolon of Adyr arena.

  • Fixed Adyr continuing his monologue into the ending cutscene if defeated too quickly.

  • Fixed Frostbite VFX now displaying correctly on Eidolon of Adyr.

  • Fixed flickering fire VFX when Eidolon of Adyr moved his head sideways.

Co-op Stability Fixes:

  •  Fixed crashes occurring when player characters died during co-op.

  • Fixed crashes occurring upon completing a boss fight during co-op.

NG+ Menu Navigation:

  • Fixed the highlight moving outside the boundaries of the NG+ Difficulty selection screen.

While CI Games is hard at work on Lords of the Fallen 2, that doesn’t mean support for the first game is going away anytime soon, and the multiple patches released even after the last content drop was pushed out last year prove the dev team’s dedication.

Helldivers 2 Cyborg Threat Now Live on February 10

In an unprecedented and unforeseeable event, the Cyborgs have returned to once again threaten the liberty and sovereignty of Super Earth and its inhabitants. This nightmarish turn of events follows the discovery that the Automatons seized the schematics for the Star of Peace with the intent to build one for themselves and use it for their dark and violent purpose. They have been tasked by the Cyborg Legion to carry out these crimes.

The Helldivers have been ordered to take on the dark and grim streets of Cyberstan’s cities and stop this collusion of bots and Cyborgs in its tracks!

New Mission & Objectives

Your primary mission will be to stop the production of more Cyborgs, as well as compromise Automaton defenses trying to stand in your way. Helldivers will also have the opportunity to clean up: destroy their mega factories building by building, and tear down the symbolic statues of the war criminals and terrorists revered by Cyborg scum in order to further destabilize and demoralize their regime.

But beware–an old familiar threat rises in these dark, foreboding streets: the Cyborgs have returned with new weapons of mass destruction.

Old Enemies Return

You must face down three new types of enemies in the Cyborg subfaction. Outsmart the Agitators, who command the Automaton legion in the field, are heavily armored and can take control of enemy squads, making tactical decisions on the battlefield.

Fight them while the Cyborg Radicals rush you from every side to make the fight up close and personal. They are the most extreme vision of a wretched Cyborg-run future: they push their bodies to the limit with cybernetic and bio-enhancements, turning themselves into a mockery of humanity.

Fight them while the Cyborg Radicals rush you from every side to make the fight up close and personal. They are the most extreme vision of a wretched Cyborg-run future: they push their bodies to the limit with cybernetic and bio-enhancements, turning themselves into a mockery of humanity.

And finally, fight the Vox Engine: the Voice of the Cyborg Legion. This war machine, piloted by a high-ranking Cyborg officer, rolls across the battlefield, blaring Cyborg’s propaganda. It is armed with dual laser cannons, rockets, laser gatlings–all to ensure no one can stop the spread of their message.

Helldivers Call for Aid

And Super Earth shall answer! Along with the recently-deployed Siege Breakers Warbond* which features defensive assistance like the G/SH-39 Shield, Helldivers will also be able to purchase the War Horses set of armor in the Superstore.

Global Reinforcement Limits

Sending reinforcements to Cyberstan is a great risk for Super Earth, which means it will be essential for the Helldivers to stay alive for as long as possible.

Every death will be counted in the Battle for Cyberstan, using a Galactic Reinforcement Counter marking the finite number of Helldivers able to be deployed. If the counter reaches zero, it means we have lost the Battle for Cyberstan.

Don’t be surprised to see a follow-up patch affecting the Cyborgs be released soon-ish.

ARC Raiders February Update 1.15 Adds Shared Watch Feature via Patch 1.000.022

The latest major update for ARC Raiders is now live on all platforms, and it’s for version 1.1.5.0! This adds the Shared Watch feature. a new map condition, new cosmetics and more.

Console gamers will see this as ARC Raiders update 1.000.022, and it also houses bug fixes, though there are a few known issues that still persist and should be sorted via another update.

For the complete list of changes, read on for the patch notes.

ARC Raiders February Update Brings New Feature via Patch 1.000.022

MARATHON RELEASE

What’s New?

Shared Watch

  • This is an opportunity to team up in the fight against the machines.
  • The Shared Watch Event starts today and ends on February 24. Players will earn merits from destroying, assisting and damaging ARC and earn rewards. No merits will be earned from PvP encounters. Bring a friend or bring a stranger, but above all, bring enough ammo to make sure the machines notice you first.

Cold Snap Map Condition

  • Winter is not quite done with the Rust Belt – We are bringing back Cold Snap!
  • The map condition is back in rotation on outdoor maps with the same mix of risk and reward. Frostbite damage will make your trip topside a short one if you don’t seek shelter, but for those who do brave the tundra – there’s increased loot value at stake!
  • You can still collect Candleberries, but they are no longer tied to any event. You can also collect, and throw, snowballs! Use them wisely, or don’t.

Cosmetics

  • The Vulpine set
  • The Slugger set

Content and Bug Fixes

Some of you have noticed changes in past updates that didn’t make it into the patch notes, thank you for flagging those and keeping us on our toes!

We’ve been building ARC Raiders for years, but we’ve only been live for a short while, and we’re still growing into the rhythm (and discipline) of live operations. Making patch notes that are complete, accurate, and easy to follow is a muscle we’re actively training.

We’re improving our internal process so fewer things slip through, and when something does, your reports help us catch it quickly and update the notes. Please keep letting us know when you spot something missing, it genuinely helps.

Miscellaneous

  • Improved instances where players sometimes could not reconnect after disconnecting from a game.
  • Fixed an issue where the match start tunnel scene sometimes wasn’t being shown.
  • Fixed an issue where trials’ objective rewards could fail to grant at the end of a round due to a timeout, ensuring partial rewards are awarded when earned.
  • Fixed an issue where the end of round screen would sometimes show incorrect merits, XP, and Live Event points.
  • Fixed an issue where players’ platform icons would sometimes show incorrectly.
  • Fixed an issue where crafting would sometimes get cancelled.

Utility

  • Trailblazer Grenade
    • The explosions no longer deal damage through walls.
    • Deals more damage to small enemies but less damage to bigger enemies such as the Leaper and Bastion.

Weapons

  • Fixed inconsistent weapon cycling when bound to keys other than the mouse wheel; keybinds now swap weapons reliably.

Known Issues

  • One of the Marco set helmet variants may appear incorrectly in preview and in the menu but will appear correctly in game.
  • Players may occasionally not receive a skill point as indicated in the result screen. A reboot/playing another round fixes the issue.
  • ‘Purchase Raider Tokens’ page may appear in front of the inbox and profile page when switching between them.
  • Player animations may appear broken when interrupting a search of the Baron Husk.
  • Certain containers may be unavailable to be interacted with.
  • Ziplines placed onto destroyed ARC parts will not appear correctly.
  • Scrappy “Batting Helmet” and the “Slugger” outfit might not appear correctly in the event preview.
  • The “Blindsided” achievement may not trigger as intended on the first attempt.

Expect another update to be released soon that will sort out the other issues.

In other gaming news, Nexon, the publisher of ARC Raiders, is said to be working with Blizzard to reboot StarCraft as a shooter.

Black Myth: Zhong Kui Receives 6 Minutes of In-Engine Footage for Chinese New Year

Six months ago, Game Science announced the next entry in the Black Myth franchise, and it’s titled Black Myth: Zhong Kui, which stars a different Chinese folklore character.

To mark Chinese New Year, which falls on February 17 this year, Game Science has released six minutes of in-engine footage for the game! While there’s no combat or actual gameplay shown, it does give us a peek at the art style the devs are going for.

Black Myth: Zhong Kui Six Minutes of Footage Released for Chinese New Year

Per Game Science, “This video was made as a Year of the Horse Special. Please note that this content is non-canon and for entertainment purposes only.”

It seems the game is far off, but I’m hoping we will get gameplay footage soon-ish.

While the developers have confirmed that Wukong will continue, they want to start from scratch with Zhong Kui. Speaking of Wukong, the game did receive a game update last month, so it’s not like the developers are abandoning it or anything.

Collectively, these updates were designed to broaden each character’s strategic depth and support a wider variety of play styles.

Rumor: Blizzard Partners With Nexon to Revive StarCraft as a Shooter

While there hasn’t been an entirely new StarCraft game since StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty was released way back in 2010, things could be changing in the near future.

A new rumor has surfaced stating that Blizzard Entertainment is seeking to revive the IP, though it won’t do it alone.

Said to be aiding in the game’s revival is none other than Nexon — yes, the same Nexon who recently published the extraction shooter hit, ARC Raiders.

StarCraft Revival Won’t Be a Strategy Game

The rumor comes from the Korean publication m.dnews, which claims that Blizzard is partnering with Nexon to revive the StarCraft IP, and it won’t be back as a traditional real-time strategy game, as the first two games were in the series. It’s said that Nexon has begun development of new games using the StacCraft brand, and the company has created a “separate organization” dedicated to recruiting key talents for the project.

The untitled project is said to have been started at Nexon’s Shooting Division, which is in charge of the game Sudden Attack. The report mentions this leads them to believe the StarCraft revival is being reborn as a first- or third-person shooter rather than a strategy title.

For those unfamiliar with the brand’s troubled development history, Blizzard cancelled a first-person shooter based on the StarCraft brand seven years ago, and this was to pour more focus into Overwatch 2 and Diablo 4.

The publication said that Blizzard remained mum when asked about this supposed project.

Needless to say, this is all unconfirmed stuff, so best to take it with a grain of salt for now. That said, Blizzard partnering with Nexon does make sense, given the latter is the no.1 video game developer and publisher in Korea. And we all know how big StarCraft is in Korea.

Would you play a StarCraft game built as a shooter?  Sound off and let us know.

RIDE 6 Review – Festival Champion

The RIDE series of games first raced onto the scene back in 2015 and had received five entries up to this point. Known for its extreme difficulty, the series has gradually gotten better with each and every entry. Now a few years after its last outing, RIDE 6 is here and is looking for its best race finish to date.

Hitting The Track

Right from your very first race, you can tell that RIDE 6 is a beautiful game from top to bottom. The visuals have always been a point of pride for the series and RIDE 6 is no different with a brand new graphics engine in Unreal Engine 5, elevating it even further beyond its predecessor that also released on current-gen consoles back in 2023. The updated weather and time of day lighting settings that are customizable add even more to this, letting players choose their favorite settings for races. I always love seeing a rainy race at night, as it really shows off the lighting in ways that isn’t available otherwise.

The upgraded physics engine is also very important in RIDE 6, as physics play arguably the largest part in any racer. This includes enhanced automatic AI adjustments with Adaptive Difficulty that will vary depending on the player’s performance and level. The dev team also worked a lot towards making the bike behavior feel even more realistic than ever before, including better bike directivity and braking management. In addition, I also appreciated how they actually utilized the controller’s vibration capabilities to help as a form of feedback to help know when you starting to go off-track or even about to crash.

RIDE 6 also brings back the rewind feature once again, which is always a good thing to have in a fast-paced racing simulator like this. There are always people that will complain that this makes things way too easy or something, but it’s something you can choose to completely avoid using if you so choose. The only issue I had with it was that I was not a fan of how delayed it felt upon pressing the right bumper button. In other games like Forza Horizon, the rewind feature felt instantaneous upon pressing, but here I often found myself pressing it multiple times because I was not actually sure if the input worked or not due to the delay.

RIDE has always had some trouble being as accessible to the typical gamer due to its high level of difficulty and dedication to being authentic with its gameplay system. Thankfully, the developers have finally heard the fans’ outcry by offering an alternate gameplay option. RIDE 6 offers players the option between Arcade Experience and Pro Experience, the latter of which is naturally the classic option. Arcade instead simplifies the controls and makes everything more intuitive to the casual gamer, which is much needed in a game like this. That said, do not expect RIDE 6 to instantly become something that is considered easy to control like Mario Kart or even Forza Horizon, as the bike controls are still quite difficult to figure out and you are only a motorcycle here that can easily crash. This new gameplay option offers a much better starting point though, which allows players to start with Arcade and perhaps switch to Pro eventually once they get really good at the game.

Also worth noting in the game is that beyond trying to just reach the casual gamer that may not be as attuned to the level of difficulty as the series offers, they also have strived to make the game truly as accessible as they could by adding a one-handed control option, a game speed reduction percentage option, and even a color-blind filter option. These are the types of things that would be great to see in as many games as possible to allow as many as possible to experience them.

New to RIDE 6 are off-road tracks for the very first time in the series, with the game including four off-road tracks from the start for you to enjoy. This could have feel very different and unnatural for what had been an asphalt-only racing series to date, but it works very well here and I quite enjoyed each of these tracks.

Take Part in the Festival

The main focus of RIDE 6 is RIDE Fest as part of career mode, which is a large festival celebrating the world of motorcycles. RIDE Fest is composed of multiple different sections on a board that you can select between, with you starting in one area with a limited number of races to choose from. Not only do you get to advance in the first section and beyond by completing goals such a winning races or at least finishing in certain ranks in races to where you can advance through what looks like a tournament bracket moving left to right, you are always working towards unlocking other areas around you too through what are known as Fame Points.

By completing in events in RIDE Fest, you’ll earn more Fame Points and be able to unlock new sectors of the mode, which have different themes to them. The first area you have to open only requires 60 Fame Points, but you’ll need up to 4,600 eventually to unlock all of them. These numbers do stack though, so it’s all encompassing rather than having to start from scratch to unlock each one. Each sector also has it’s own unlock requirements too that you must fulfill. You’ll notice a lock saying something like 0/2 under it, which means you need to complete at least two of the corresponding events prior to the lock to advance further in the path.

Ten of the areas specifically within RIDE Fest will be themed after legends of the sport. These include Troy Bayliss, Niccolo Canepa, Thomas Chareyre, Peter Hickman, Skyler Howes, Ian Hutchinson, Guy Martin, Tyler,O’Hara, Casey Stoner, and James Toseland. These are some of the more intense sections of RIDE Fest, as you have to take on these elite racers, which were a lot of fun.

Each event within RIDE Fest has two objectives available for you to complete. The first is the main objective, which is required to receive the minimum number of Fame Points and be considered as completing the event. There is then the bonus objective, which is a completely optional and much harder objective that will reward you with the maximum number of Fame Points available for that event. There are also some objectives that will give you exclusive rewards, so you must watch out for those. Getting to the end of each section will let you pick out a reward, so it is well worth finishing each and not just getting enough Fame Points to advance.

For those who are finding themselves struggling in races or just want to better themselves through various challenges, the Bridgestone Riding School section of RIDE 6 is just for you. In this section, you can pick from different lessons that feature a Learn phase where you watch the instructor do it. Then, you have the Test phase where you can try it out for yourself. Lastly, you have the Compete phase, where you try to beat the target times and get the gold medal. Beating the instructor time also unlocks the ability to challenge a ghost in each challenge as well. Some of these challenges can be really difficult, too, so this really does serve as a good option for veteran players as well, while the Learn and Test phases are more for newcomers.

It wouldn’t be a RIDE game without letting you bring you creativity to life in the games’ Editor. Here you can create your own designs for bike liveries, helmets, suits, rider stickers, and stickers in general. As always, you can also share your designs online for others to find and download or just find some others online yourself instead of designing any. These work well with the over 340 bikes that are in the game or as DLC, so make sure to outfit them as you desire.

Another new feature this year that should makes fan happy is full cross-play for the very first time. In RIDE 5, cross-play became available between PS5 and Xbox Series consoles, as well as between different PC storefronts, but you could not intermix consoles and PC. That has changed in RIDE 6 though, as full crossplay is available right from the start. Developer Milestone is really pushing this too with monthly challenges for players that you can go for that will notify you as soon as someone on another platform beats your record.

Verdict

RIDE 6 has done a great job of building on what prior entries have done and making the game more accessible than ever. The difficulty of the series has turned many gamers off in the past, but now the game has introduced not only a new gameplay option for newcomers, but also a few accessibility-friendly options to help those who could not play before. However, that doesn’t mean the game is no longer incredibly hard, even with these new options, so your enjoyment may depend on that. Combining the best gameplay to date with the fun RIDE Fest career mode and the addition of full cross-play, RIDE 6 is easily the best entry in the series so far.

Pros

  • Beautiful visuals and lighting
  • Two gameplay modes to choose
  • RIDE Fest Career Mode
  • Accessibility features
Verdict
8/10
Combining the best gameplay to date with the fun RIDE Fest career mode and addition of full cross-play, RIDE 6 is easily the best entry in the series so far.

Cons

  • Still incredibly difficult to jump into
  • Rewind feature delay

Report: Cancelled LOTR Game by Eidos-Montréal With a Telltale-like Story First Look

Eidos-Montréal is a studio that has participated in the development of major games like the Tomb Raider saga, but lately has been relegated to a support studio for other projects. Following the acquisition by Embracer, the studio has faced several difficulties, such as layoffs and the cancellation of various projects.

According to Insider Gaming, some of these discarded projects included a Legacy of Kain soft-reboot scrapped in 2022, as well as a Lord of the Rings game. This latter project has been described as a game with card-based mechanics and a “Telltale” story spin on it. It is also said that, apparently, development on this game didn’t go very far before being scrapped.

Aside from this description, we haven’t gotten a lot of details about this project, which is understandable given the state of development. However, fans of the Tolkien epic will be glad to know that we’ve gotten our hands on a few images that show a conceptual glimpse into what was being worked on before its cancellation.

Concept Art from Eidos-Montréal’s LOTR Game

The illustrations come from the portfolio of a former Eidos-Montréal artist. In them, we see a variety of different locations inside the world of Middle-earth from a top-down view, which seems to be the way the game would have been played.

There is also a recurring mention in the filenames of what might be the main setting: Umbar, a location described in the books as a major port city on the coast of Gondor, primarily inhabited by pirates. This matches what’s seen here, like with the inclusion of ships and the dry biomes surrounding Umbar.

Another interesting location seen in the images, which fans of the series will recognize, is The Prancing Pony inn, where Frodo and his friends first meet Aragorn. We know this thanks to the image’s filename, which explicitly mentions the location.

The portfolio also includes a single video offering a rotating view of the Bay of Umbar in two different stages: before and after the fall of the city. As described in the LOTR books, this likely depicts the aftermath of several battles where the pirate stronghold was defeated and left in ruins.

The final batch of images offers a look at early gameplay tests, showcasing the transition from concept art to a 3D model of the city. The environment is largely untextured, displaying the grid patterns typical of this early development phase, but it already features basic mechanics like ladder climbing.

Additionally, we can spot red silhouettes that closely resemble Orcs, though a developer note in the level explicitly refers to a “Corsair,” suggesting the game would have featured the pirates of Umbar, perhaps fighting alongside Sauron’s other forces.

It is difficult to visualize how the rumored card-based mechanics would have integrated with the gameplay shown in these images. The top-down perspective strongly suggests real-time melee combat, akin to titles like No Rest for the Wicked. It is possible that the project underwent significant changes during development, or that it aimed for a bold mix of genres.

Ultimately, these glimpses leave us wondering about the unique experience Eidos-Montréal was trying to forge with the LOTR world before the project was shelved for good.

Now the studio is reportedly focused on its next major project, known internally as P11, which is understood to be deep in development. This would be a new third-person, open-world action-adventure IP, being built on Unreal Engine 5, with a potential release targeted for this year.

Discord Will Require Face Scanning Or ID Verification For Age-Restricted Content

If you use Discord on a daily basis, big changes are coming — and they will affect how you access the platform. Discord is preparing to introduce stricter age controls, and users may soon need to confirm their age before using all features.

Discord has just announced that starting March 2026, users worldwide will be required to confirm their age in order to access certain content.

Discord “Teen-Appropriate Experience” Will Soon Require Face Scan or ID

In a post published on its official website, Discord explained that if users do not complete age verification, their account will automatically be set as a “teen” account and will lose access to content and channels with age restrictions.

Users who do not verify their age and do not prove they are adults will also be unable to speak in Discord’s Stage channels. In addition, content considered sensitive will be blocked. Minors will receive warning messages when they get friend requests from unknown users, while direct messages from strangers will be automatically moved to a separate inbox.

All channels and content without age restrictions will continue to work normally. However, users will not be able to send messages in age-restricted servers or view restricted content until age verification is completed, even if they were already members of those servers before the new rules take effect.

Age verification will be done using one of two methods: face scanning or uploading an identity document. Not everyone will be comfortable with these options, especially the use of official documents, due to privacy concerns. Discord has stated that data will never leave the user’s device and that uploaded documents will be deleted immediately after verification.

Discord also claims it will use an internal age-inference model that runs in the background to help determine whether an account belongs to an adult, without always requiring age verification. If the system is highly confident that a user is an adult, no further age verification will be required.

What do you think about Discord’s decision? Do you agree with these new rules? Let us know in the comments.

Fallout 76 New Update 2.19 Released on February 9 to Address Issues

Bethesda has released a new minor update for Fallout 76 that’s live now on all platforms as the game’s servers undergo maintenance. Console gamers will see the February 9 patch appear as Fallout 76 update 2.19, and this is a small download.

While this doesn’t add anything new, the patch does fix important issues related to the CAMP Module skin that caused the Build Menu to appear empty. The “new” tab bug has also been fixed, which I know irked a few players.

For the complete list of changes made today, read on.

Fallout 76’s Update 2.19 Addresses a Short but Important List of Bugs

Fallout 76 New Update 2.16

Here are the known fixes included in today’s update:

  • Fixed an issue with a C.A.M.P. Module skin that caused the Build Menu to appear empty.
  • Fixed instances of the “New” category of the Pip-Boy acting erratically.
  • Fixed an issue which caused Grunt and Head Hunt enemies to be 1-Star.
  • Fixed an issue which caused C.A.M.P. items purchased with Gold Bullion to not appear in the Build Menu.
  • Fixed an issue with the Cryo status effect which caused the damage to not apply to enemies.
  • Fixed an issue where it was possible to obtain a 100% evasion chance with the Reflex Legendary Mod.

The dev team is continuing to investigate fixes for many other topics that have been brought up by the community due to the big update released in January. Of course, here’s to hoping today’s patch doesn’t cause more issues.

If you know someone who wants to jump in to the game, the PlayStation Store’s latest sale has Fallout 76 at a super discounted price. For players who are still experiencing bugs, leave a comment and let us know the issues the dev team has failed to resolve.

Once we get wind of another patch for the game, expect it here on MP1st.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 Day One Update Has Fixed Kubochi River; Comparison Shows It’s a Day & Night Difference

The Yakuza Kiwami 3 and Dark Ties embargo has finally been lifted! For those who haven’t already, be sure to check out our review to see what we think of the remake, and whether or not RGG Studio has delivered the definitive version of Kiryu’s Okinawan adventure.

While we covered much of the remake in the review, I felt we needed to focus more on one of the game’s biggest complaints: the visuals.

Specifically, the game’s lighting and areas around the Kubochi River have recently become a focus of fan criticism, with many calling the visuals worse than in the original. Thankfully, RGG Studio has addressed this with the new Day One update (which is version 1.11), bringing a transformative upgrade to the river’s water physics and lighting that honestly feels like a complete overhaul to the section.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 Day One Update Ver. 1.11 Brings Major Graphical Improvements

By now, many of you have seen the images floating around online, showing what the Kubochi River looks like in Yakuza Kiwami 3. While there are plenty of other graphical complaints about the demo, the in-game view of the Kubochi River has been the biggest topic of discussion regarding the game’s visuals.

It’s not a pretty sight, and while many feel the demo did more harm than good, it did bring this issue to light, and as a result, RGG Studio announced that they would be fixing the area, along with addressing other graphical issues. The results? Well, why not have a look for it yourself.

Personally, I wasn’t bothered too much by the way the water looked in the original. That’s not to say that it didn’t look bad, but my biggest issue was more so how the lighting reacted to the environment, and how things lacked shadows and such. If you’re looking at the comparison, and thinking all they did was make the area darker, well, you’re partially right. It’s more so that they fixed the area not rendering shadows correctly. It should be somewhat dark in this section of the map because it’s directly underneath a bridge.

This is why it looked so off for many, because realistically, it shouldn’t have been that bright to begin with, especially with little to no shadows. Yes, it is definitely darker than how it was before, but I do want to point out this isn’t the case of RGG just turning down the brightness, at least around the Kubochi River area as there are several other improvements they introduced. I’ll go over some of those shortly, but beyond that, yeah, it does look like they lowered the brightness down to the point that it’s no longer blinding.

It’s not the most drastic of changes if I am honest, and I would love to see RGG continue to work on the lighting system in current and future releases. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii were both titles where we really saw an issue with the games being too bright, and I felt that at first with Yakuza Kiwami 3 during the review period. The update definitely helps, and there are other areas I noticed the changes the more. Specifically, when it comes to inside stores, where looking at the window looked like the world was about to end because of how bright it was.

Interesting enough, there are even some assets that have been changed around the river area. Take this signage for example:

There may be other areas in the game that have seen updates, but the patch does mainly focus on Okinawa as shown in the examples above. In fact, I believe the lighting for the other locations (Morning Glory and Kamurocho) has been left untouched, though those aren’t areas I can say needed much improvement to begin with.

Overall, while I think there is still more work to be done, the changes that RGG has implemented for the game’s launch this week do seem to be very good ones. Maybe a bit too dark in some cases, but I think I would rather take that than deal with an apocalyptic level of brightness that was seen in the demo and prior review builds.

But what do you think, are these the kind of graphical changes you were hoping to see? What other aspects of the game’s visuals can RGG improve on? Let us know!

For those who have already pre-loaded (on supported platforms) the game, this update should already be included in the initial download. Those buying physical will have to download the update. Yakuza Kiwami 3 will be officially released on February 12, 2026.

Fallout 76 Down on February 9 to Apply an Update

Not able to enter the Wasteland in Fallout 76? If so, it’s not just you, as Bethesda has taken the game’s servers down on February 9 on all platforms.

This is an hours-long maintenance period where gamers won’t be able to connect online or even check their base. There is an update rolling out that requires a download.

Read on for more details on the game’s downtime and what’s included in the update.

Fallout 76 Servers Down on a Monday, February 9

Bethesda has confirmed the downtime starts at 10 am ET/7 am PT/11 am HKT. While no specific schedule has been given, the downtime for the game usually lasts for 3-5 hours, which means we can expect the game’s servers to be up at 1 pm ET the soonest (give or take).

While the patch notes aren’t available yet, Bethesda has said that there is an update set for release on February 11, which will address the following:

  • Build Menu appearing empty due to a skin applied to the C.A.M.P. Module.
  • The “New” category of the Pip-Boy acting erratically.
  • Grunt and Head Hunts only providing 1-Star enemies.
  • C.A.M.P. items that were purchased with Gold Bullion not appearing.
  • Cryo Status effects and damage not applying to enemies.

Given the timing, chances are, the February 11 update is the one we’re about to download and install today. Once the official patch notes are out, we’ll provide a link to it within this article.

If anything changes regarding the downtime, or if it gets extended, we’ll be sure to update the article with more info.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Review – Delivering a Win

SEGA has kept its Yakuza franchise in the spotlight throughout the years, and the latest entry to get a remake is coming up for release this week. Featuring not only a remake of Yakuza 3, but also a brand-new adventure starring Yoshitaka Mine, developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio promises tons of content. Read our Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties review to see if this two-in-one remake is yet another hit in the making.

For those wary of story spoilers, don’t fret, this review is spoiler-free, so there are no major story beats that get discussed.

Two Games, One Price

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties come with two games for the price of one. This is true no matter which version of the game you purchase, as the Deluxe Edition simply includes some cosmetic items as well as a BGM CD set of songs to play on the in-game phone. This means you’ll experience the exact same stories no matter which version of the game you choose to purchase. This is a completely single-player experience, as Yakuza 3 was before it. The only DLC available is that which the Deluxe version unlocks. There’s no real fear of missing out if you opt to save yourself some money and purchase the base game, which is a good thing if you’re trying to stretch your gaming budget.

Both games are available from the outset, and you can freely swap between which game you’re playing by choosing them from the title screen. Both games run on the Dragon Engine and run identically. Your mileage may vary depending on your hardware, of course, but on my ASUS TUF F17 laptop equipped with a 13th-gen i7 and an RTX 4070 8GB, a frame rate of 120 fps could be achieved on the highest settings, with DLSS 2x Frame Generation and Reflex+Boost turned on. Combat in this game doesn’t require too precise timing, so any extra input lag introduced by these features being turned on wasn’t really noticeable, at least not on the Normal difficulty level. The Dragon Engine runs things very well, and the graphics impress, especially compared to the original.

Peace Never Lasts

Yakuza Kiwami 3 sees the return of Kazuma Kiryu, this time in charge of the Morning Glory, an orphanage he has taken control of now that the conflict with the Omi Alliance has concluded. He has given up the reins of the Tojo clan and entrusted its future to Daigo Dojima, and now lives a peaceful life in Okinawa. Of course, no peace can last wherever Kiryu finds himself, and before he knows it, he’s thrust into the middle of a conflict that quickly grows beyond the walls of a simple orphanage. Dark Ties, meanwhile, allows the player the opportunity to play as Yoshitaka Mine and follow his downfall as a successful startup CEO who began his illustrious Yakuza story, which is shown in Yakuza 3.

No matter which way you slice it, Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties offers incredible value for the price of one game. The original Yakuza 3 took most completionist players around 100 hours to obtain the 100% clear rate, and the level of detail evident in Yakuza Kiwami 3 likely equates to a slightly streamlined play time to get the same result. Regardless, you can count on completing the main campaign in around 20 hours with average deviations for side quests. Indeed, you can tack on dozens of hours simply raising your relationship with each kid at the Morning Glory, and attempting to raise Kiryu’s Daddy Rank by sewing, growing crops, and more activities that have none of the violence but all of the intensity that the regular missions are known for.

Substories Galore

There are, as usual, plenty of those to go around, in either Yakuza Kiwami 3 or Dark Ties. There are over a hundred substories, as they are called, ranging from simple fetch quests to multi-scenario stories that reveal themselves over time. Dark Ties also features something called the Kanda Charisma Project: Mine has taken it upon himself to improve his mentor Tsuyoshi Kanda’s public profile, and to achieve that, he’ll perform Good Deeds, take on Helping the Little People quests, and rack up stats in Damage Control Challenges. These help to progress the story, but they also extend this game’s run time, as some of the Damage Control Challenges invite you to play a lot of the side activities.

Upgrading each main character is done through a straightforward tree, spending money and/or points to improve their stats, as well as unlocking new combo options or special moves that you can perform in certain contexts. Both characters have two fighting styles. Kiryu has access to an upgraded style using the original as a base: Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami Style. It boasts the highest number of attack techniques in the entire series. While you start out with a decent move set, by the time you’ve unlocked every ability, Kiryu will have a truly impressive repertoire of moves to keep his enemies struggling. His other, new Ryukyu style is no slouch, either. It is weapons-based and features eight different types to master. It almost feels like cheating with how devastating some of these weapons can be, but then the enemy also occasionally uses weapons, so all’s fair in Yakuza war. Dark Ties, meanwhile, has Mine using shoot-boxing, which is a flashy combat style that relies on picking holes in the opponent’s defense. Getting airborne by kicking off of one enemy, to then attack mid-air is a key mechanic to master, as the technique is great at crowd control, and Mine seems to always attract several enemies at once. Mine’s other option is a rechargeable Dark Awakening mode. This is an overcharge mode, where Mine is surrounded by an ominous red aura and becomes quite overpowered. If you’ve stored up enough of a charge of the ability, you can hold the activation button for a bit and deal double the damage for the same amount of time. This is especially useful against boss characters, who usually also produce an intense aura that must be beaten into submission before their main health bar will start to deplete.

Lots of Distractions

Outside of fighting, both games offer the usual array of side activities to participate in, most of which offer fun distractions if you want to take in the city life or get away from the drama for a while. There are plenty of restaurants to eat at, with different menus per location, bars to get drunk at, convenience stores to stock up on healing and boosting items, batting cages, bowling alleys, mahjong leagues, and, of course, arcades. While the game generally ran well, inexplicably, some side games such as bowling had some frame rate issues. In the arcades, you’ll find completely playable video games from SEGA’s extensive library of classic games, all the way up to Dreamcast-era games. There’s also a full-fledged Game Gear emulator, with a full dozen carts to find – though the game does give you perhaps half of them very early on in either game. I have to admit, though, many of these games are really showing their age. Some of them run so slowly, like Sonic & Tails, that it might be a struggle to play through one in its entirety. Still, this emulator supports save states, so maybe it’s something you just play one level at a time in between advancing Kiryu’s or Mine’s story.

One bigger feature is missing this time around: Revelations from the original Yakuza 3. This mode involved a bunch of over-the-top scenarios for Kiryu to unlock new abilities. Remaking all of those scenes was perhaps too daunting of a task to be deemed worth the effort, and they were left out in the remake. It’s not a dealbreaker, just something for fans of the original to be aware of. A couple of minigames have been replaced with those in most other, more modern Yakuza releases, as mentioned.

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is the complete package. You get not one, but two fully-contained campaigns, with all the violence and drama you’d expect in any Yakuza story. Having both games unlocked from the start is great for anyone who’s played the original Yakuza 3 and just wants to get to all of the new stuff, though any players new to Yakuza 3 will probably want to play Yakuza Kiwami 3 first to get more familiar with the story. Playing either game is guaranteed to be a good time.

Pros

  • Two games in one!
  • New moves are fun to learn
  • Plenty of sidequests
  • Runs well, with great graphics to boot
Editor’s Choice Badge
Verdict
8.5/10
Yazuka Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is a fantastic double feature that packs a ton of content within. Fans of Yakuza will definitely be pleased with their time spent re-visiting Okinawa and Tokyo. Fan-favorite Mine getting his own, standalone story, at no extra charge, is icing on the cake. Even if brawler-style games aren’t your style, most people can enjoy the entertaining, weird, violent, yet also occasionally heart-tugging stories to be found in either game. Check it out - Kiryu won't let you down!

Cons

  • Some side quests have inconsistent performance
  • Revelations replaced with a skill tree

Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord New Update 1.32/1.033 Brings Version 1.3.14 to Consoles

Talesworlds Entertainment has released Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord update 1.32/1.033 (complete version 1.033.000), and this brings the version 1.3.14 fixes that was released on PC last week.

WWE 2K26 Ringside Pass Premium Includes New DLC Wrestlers, But It Will Cost Over $600 to Unlock Everything

WWE 2K26 is just around the corner, and the developers have been sharing more updates with fans to build hype and excitement around the title.

However, the title has been the subject of significant controversy over the last few days, as 2K is introducing a major overhaul to its post-launch content, which could be a nightmare for the franchise’s fans.

WWE 2K26 Ringside Pass Sparks Backlash Over Potential $600+ Cost

WWE 2K26 Ringside Pass

Since the developers have ditched the traditional individual DLC packs for the game and replaced them with a battle pass system, it could cost fans about $650 to get the full content.

Just recently, 2K confirmed that WWE 2K26 won’t have individual DLC packs like in past years; instead, they are introducing a battle pass system, called the Ringside Pass, like other live-service games.

Similar to how the battle pass system works in other games, players will have to earn rewards by playing the game’s different modes and leveling up gradually. Previously, players would just buy the DLC pack and get everything without needing to grind through the game.

“]

According to 2K’s official FAQ, Ringside Pass Season 1 will go live on March 6 with Early Access, allowing players to earn post-launch content ahead of WrestleMania. All players will have access to a free track featuring 60 rewards across 40 tiers, which are unlocked by earning RXP through regular gameplay across most modes, provided an online connection is active.

Players who purchase the Ringside Premium Pass will gain access to a premium track that includes new DLC Superstars, CAS parts, Personas, Island taunts, and more, adding another 60 rewards for a total of 120. Progression is shared between both tracks, meaning free and premium rewards unlock simultaneously as players level up.

2K has also confirmed that the game will have six seasons, and each will cost $10. Following this news, a Redditor has done the math, calculating that the game could now cost more than the console you’d be playing it on.

The standard edition of the game costs $70, and all six passes of the Ringside Pass would cost an additional $60. Now here’s the thing: if the game follows the NBA 2K system, which lets players pay money to skip tiers and get everything instantly without grinding, it could cost as much as $480.

And of course, if you didn’t pre-order the game and are planning to buy the Joe Hendry, WrestleMania 42, King of Kings, Monday Night War, and Attitude Era Packs, that will cost around another $65, bringing the subtotal to $675.

This is an insane amount for an annual game. In comparison, the recently launched Nintendo Switch 2 costs $450. The PlayStation 5 Disc Drive Version cost $550, and the Xbox Series X, Disc Drive 1TB Version, is as much as $650, making WWE 2K26 more expensive than the console itself.

Nonetheless, fans aren’t happy with the recent 2K announcement, as they don’t want the title to become another live service. Some traditional fans are upset because buying DLC would previously give them instant access, and they fear the latest announcement might ruin the game’s fun.

What do you think about this? Do you like this new system launching in WWE 2K26? Let us know in the comments.

Madden NFL 26 New Update 1.014 Rushes Out on a Weekend to Fix Franchise, Ultimate Team

While EA just released a new Madden NFL 26 update that added many more names to the X-Factors Superstars pool, it also introduced issues in Franchise mode and Ultimate Team.

Given how much of Madden 26’s microtransactions (ie. EA’s post-release revenue) is tied ot Ultimate Team, it’s understandable — even expected — that the developers will get on it ASAP. That’s exactly what has happened, as even if it’s a weekend, Madden NFL 26 update 1.014 (complete version 1.014.000) has just been released.

As one might expect, this fixes issues that affected gamers via the patch released a few days ago.

Madden NFL 26 Emergency Update 1.014 Fixes Ultimate Team Issues

EA has mentioned, “We’re aware of menu responsiveness issues impacting Franchise mode and Ultimate Team. A fix has been identified and we’re working to get the update live as soon as possible.”

Adding to that, the developers noted, “Update: We are continuing to work to get this resolved as quickly as possible and are targeting release this weekend.”

We’re really hoping that for gameplay bug fixes and other issues, the dev team is this quick to act.

Oddly enough, Madden NFL 26 isn’t the only game that received an emergency patch this weekend, as Fortnite just got one too, adn this is to fix stability issues.

If you know anyone who’s looking to purchase Madden 26 on the PS5, there’s a sale ongoing now on the PSN Store, which significantly discounts the football sim.
