Report: Tekken 8 Mod Videos Being Struck Down by Bandai Namco

Videos from popular Tekken 8 mod creators have begun getting taken down by Bandai Namco. These videos, which typically showcase model replacements or other mods for the popular fighting game, have started receiving attacks from the game’s publisher in an attempt to discourage modded copies of the game.

The strikes were first reported by Twitter user UMIN, who noticed that several of his popular Tekken 8 mod showcase videos had been struck:

A few short hours later, Bandai Namco struck down more of UMIN’s videos, which resulted in their channel being set for deletion in April:

Another Tekken 8 YouTuber, IAMOP, shared similar strikes on their own channels:

As of yet, we haven’t seen any similar reports from other Tekken 8 modders, but this creator is unlikely to be the only one affected. This is likely in response to a recent debacle during a Street Fighter 6 tournament, during which one of the competitors used a nude Chun Li model that had been modded into their game.

While it makes sense for Bandai Namco to take action to prevent situations like the one mentioned above, it absolutely sucks to shut down big parts of your game’s community. Modding can bring life back to dead games and extend the longevity of games that already have an active player base like Tekken 8. Hopefully other developers and publishers can see the positive effect a modding community can have on their titles.

Report: Streamer Claims DICE Paid Over 60 Content Creators to Help Develop Battlefield 2042 but Ignored Every Advice Given

While Battlefield 2042 might be in a better state now compared to when the game launched, it wasn’t for lack of people working on it. Apparently, DICE even paid a lot of content creators to help develop the game.

This was revealed by content creator and streamer Shroud. In a recent Twitch stream, Shroud, who’s real name is Michael Grzesiek, mentioned:

“They (DICE) asked and paid for maybe 60 to 100 content creators for their help. They did consulting with a lot of us. It started at like 60 or something, and then it got narrowed down to 40, and then 20, and then 10 or whatever it was. Did it a few times. They didn’t listen to a fucking thing we said. Not one thing! Not one thing we said…not a single one! Not one! Why the fuck did they pay us? I mean, I got paid, but I couldn’t believe it. Like, we know what we’re talking about; we play games for a fucking living. We don’t stop; we just play, play, play. We have you guys in chat who just echo all the shit that’s bad.”

Of course, we don’t know what the advice given to DICE was. I mean, for all we know, the content creators might have mentioned how DICE needed to make the game more like Call of Duty, no? On the game’s subreddit, Reddit user Zyphonix_delivered a fair few good points.

In addition to that, another Reddit user FoxDaim pointed out how Shroud thinks Battlefield 4 — a game that some deem as the best in the franchise — sucks and is overrated.

Now, we’re left wondering what advice Shroud and the other content creators gave DICE, and why the studio opted not to implement any of ’em.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Update 1.25 for Patch 1.8.0 Brings Frozen Empire Content This March 26

Developer IllFonic has released Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed update 1.25, and this is to usher in a new villain that ties the game to the Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire movie! Called patch version 1.8.0, this brings Garraka into the game as a new overlord variant alongside new Gear Shells, and improvements.

“Spine-chilling” is a blistering understatement when describing the cold malevolence that exudes from Garraka, a formidable icy overlord. One look into his cold, soulless eyes will make you wish you never crossed paths, and that’s not even taking into account the baleful ice he can summon with his tremendous psychokinetic energy. XDefiant to Feature 3 New Weapons Per Season, Lobbies Won’t Disband and Further Explained

While XDefiant doesn’t have a release date yet, we already know quite a lot about the game and its post-release plans. Aside from new classes and factions set to be introduced in new seasons, we now know that each new season for the shooter will also feature three new weapons.

This was confirmed by XDefiant Executive Producer Mark Rubin over on Twitter/X:

In addition to the weapon count incoming for each new season, Rubin also confirmed that XDefiant will not feature disbanding lobbies! If you’re one of the many people who wished Call of Duty or other multiplayer shooters didn’t do this like it was over a decade ago, well, that’ll be the case for XDefiant.

Here’s Rubin’s explanation on how lobbies work in XDefiant:

“When you hit Play and choose Unranked Playlists you will be able to pick a single mode (i.e. Escort, Occupy) or you can create a custom playlist with any or all of the modes available. If you pick just a single mode, you will stay in the same lobby with everyone else in your lobby that also picked that mode, but if you used the custom playlist to pick which modes you want to play then you will leave that lobby at the end of each match and re-match against new players.”

That’s a good way to make quick rivalries build up without resorting to tournaments and whatnot. Those who played old school Call of Duty multiplayer, you know what I’m talking about!

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn Gameplay Overview Explains the Game Mechanics

Developer A44 Games along with publisher Kepler Interactive have released the Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn gameplay overview video, and this nine-minute clip gives us a look at the game’s combat, enemies, reputation system, side quests and more.

Game Synopsis:

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn places players in the well-worn boots of Nor Vanek. This sapper, along with her mystical partner Enki, find themselves in a relentless battle against the gods and the undead. Through fights against monstrous foes, hone your combat skills as you mix melee and flintlock weapons with devastating magic.

In Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, players basically become a god killer, and it seems to blend gunplay, melee and magic. Let’s hope the game lives up to what we’ve seen so far when it releases sometime this summer on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Guilty Gear Strive Season Pass 4 Confirmed to Be in Development; Final Season 3 Fighter Teased

Looking for more characters to join the fight in Guilty Gear Strive? Well, you’re in luck, as Arc System Works has confirmed that Guilty Gear Strive Season Pass 4 is in development!

The announcement was made during the Arc World Tour Finals 2023. While details for the Season Pass 4 are scarce, Arc System Works has also given a tease for the final Season Pass 3 character with a silhouette:

Per the press release, the new fighter will be out in May 2024 for $6.99 and as part of Season Pass 3. More details about it will be shared at a later date.

Destiny 2 Update 7.3.5.3 Released on All Platforms This March 26

As promised, as part of today’s maintenance for the game, Bungie has released Destiny 2 update 7.3.5.3, which seems to be a server-side update (meaning no client download needed). This is a small patch that brings fixe to Trials of Osiris and more.

Diablo 4 Update 1.41 for Build Version 1.3.5 Brings Ray Tracing and Fixes This March 26

Blizzard Entertainment has released Diablo 4 update 1.41 (PS5 update version 1.041), which introduces ray tracing to the game! Not only that, but this Diablo 4 patch tagged as build version 1.3.5 also updates Ambient Occlusion and Contact Shadows for a better graphical experience. Read on for details on that alongside the fixes introduced today in the official patch notes.

GAME UPDATES

  • Patch 1.3.5. introduces Raytracing to all supported platforms and updates to Ambient Occlusion and Contact Shadows.

BUG FIXES

  • Fixed an issue where the Portal entrance to the Gauntlet didn’t apply Portal cosmetics.
  • Fixed an issue where the ability to interact with certain things would not function if Corpse Tendrils was equipped to the same key binding as ‘Interact’.
  • Fixed an issue where some elites could not properly spawn in the second half of the Path of the Blind dungeon.
  • Fixed an issue where some headstone cosmetics would not appear in the Wardrobe.

For those not familiar with ray tracing, Blizzard describes it as: “Ray tracing is the term that broadly refers to the ability for game engines to produce more lifelike images. For example, shadows cast by the Sun are enhanced with ray tracing.”

Apex Legends Update 1.000.064 Sneaks Out for Shadow Society Event

Respawn has pushed out Apex Legends update 1.000.064 on all platforms this March 26, and this brings the Shadow Society Event into the game! Players can expect a new limited-time mode, the Apex Artifact, and a bunch of adjustments, which are listed in the official patch notes below.

Schedule: March 26 to April 16, 2024

  • New Lockdown LTM – Legends will need to protect their turf in the first four-squad free-for-all battle for dominance, where players will capture and hold objectives in a small, mayhem-filled map.

  • 36 Cutthroat Cosmetics & Reward Shop – Throughout the event, players can earn a Reputation for items in the Reward Shop and uncover 36 deadly event Cosmetics, with each unlock pushing them closer to killer Milestone Rewards.

  • Introducing Apex Artifacts – Wield the all-new “Cobalt Katar” Apex Artifact, a universal Mythic Melee Cosmetic for any Legend, in any mode. If players collect all 36 limited-time events before the event ends, they will receive the Final Milestone reward, an Apex Artifact deathbox effect.

BALANCE UPDATES

Care Package

  • First set of Care Packages
    • Care Package weapons removed
    • Seasonal Gold weapons now spawn in their place (R-301, RE-45, Mastiff, Devotion, 30-30)

Dev Notes: Over the seasons, we’ve been improving the lethality of crate weapons to increase excitement and usefulness. This has led to early Care Package weapons feeling disproportionately strong, so we’ve decided to push them to later in the game rather than pulling back on their strength. Offering gold weapons in their stead keeps the early drops relevant but not as dominant.

Weapon Spawn Rates

  • Assault Rifle and Marksman Rifle spawn rates normalized per zone

Dev Notes: Normalizing these spawn rates should smooth out the looting experience and ammo economy across maps when it comes to weapon variety. Ex. the 30-30 had a higher spawn chance than a Triple Take in high tier zones—they now have the same spawn chance in high tier zones.

WEAPONS

CAR (from Season 20 launch, missed in Patch Notes)

  • ADS vertical recoil slightly increased

EVA-8 [Care Package]

  • Blast pattern tightened
  • Initial projectile size increased
  • Improved handling
  • Reduce ammo reserves to 64 (was 96)

Dev Notes: We’re satisfied with how the EVA-8 is performing in very close quarters combat, but it falls a bit short just outside of barrel-stuff range. We hope an improvement to its blast pattern, projectile size, and handling speed will round out its place as a CQC monster.

Rampage

  • Energize time slightly reduced to better match the animation

Dev Notes: The Rampage LMG energize time was slightly misaligned with the buff kicking in, resulting in unintentional interruptions right as it was about to finish. This adjustment tightens all that up.

Wingman [Care Package]

  • Ammo Reserves decreased to 72 (was 90)
  • Can no longer equip the 1x Digital Threat
  • Optic is no longer locked and can be replaced

Dev Notes: At the start of the season, we locked the optic to the 1x HCOG as a stop-gap fix to remove the Digital Threat from the Wingman. Digi on Wingman represents an immense power spike, and our preference is to keep the power of the Wingman in the weapon and not the optic.

LEGENDS

Ballistic

  • Upgrades
    • Ammuvision: removed
    • Lasting Bullet: moved to Level 2
    • NEW Speedy Whistler: successful hits with Tactical give a 2s burst of speed (Level 3)

Dev Note: Ballistic didn’t receive the full suite of upgrades we wanted to give him on launch, and these upgrades won’t be his last. Decoupling Extra Bullet and Lasting Bullet (alongside the addition of Speedy Whistler) creates more versatility with the Tactical on a Legend that’s more one-dimensional than some.

Bangalore

  • Rolling Thunder: Cooldown increased to 4.5 min (was 4)
  • Smoke Launcher
    • Cooldown increased to 35s (was 33)
    • No longer deals damage
    • Smoke duration decreased to 11s (was 18)
    • Smoke particles now dissipate faster
  • Upgrades: Level 2
    • Big Bang: removed
    • NEW Tactical Cooldown: reduces Tactical cooldown by 5s
  • Upgrades: Level 3
    • Cover Me: Auto-Ping no longer tracks the player who triggered double time
    • Refuge : Heal Rate increased to 3.5 HP/s (was 3HP/s)

Dev Note: Bangalore’s smoke has been dominant for a while now. We thought about reducing smoke charges, but keeping two with a shorter lifetime encourages more plays with the smoke than longer plays IN the smoke (limiting its omnipresence in fights). Adding the Tactical Cooldown in place of the Ultimate Cooldown promotes a more meaningful choice between two core components of her kit. The Cover Me tracking potential was doing more work than intended, especially through smoke, so we’ve dialed this back to point you in the right direction rather than provide perfect positional info.

Bloodhound

  • Upgrades
    • Odin’s Glare: moved to Level 2
    • Tactical Cooldown: moved to Level 3

Caustic

  • Gas Damage now increases by 1 each tick (was 5/5/6/6 etc.)
    • Downed players still only receive 5/tick
  • Gas Slow effect now only applies on first damage tick for 2s
  • Upgrades
    • Particle Diffuser: moved to Level 3
    • Residual Toxins: moved to Level 2

Dev Note: Caustic’s Particle Diffuser upgrade makes it much harder for players to escape his larger gas cloud and getting that early in game could be quite oppressive. We’ve moved this upgrade to spike his power in the late game specifically. The goal of the gas changes is to create more counterplay options when playing around gas; dipping in and out of it should still be punished with the Gas Slow, but moving within it is now a possibility for willing test subjects as long as they don’t experiment for too long.

Conduit

  • Radiant Transfer
    • Cooldown Increased to 31s (was 26)
    • Regen Interruption delay time increased to 2s (was 1)

Dev Note: Ahh yes, Revenant’s best friend Octane Conduit. She continues to be a strong pick, given her ability to maintain pressure by supporting aggressive allies in flights. Part of the counterplay is to interrupt her shield regen with damage, but we are seeing that it’s all too easy to evade briefly and have the regen kick back in almost immediately. Increasing this delay not only stops the regen for longer, it also cuts into the overall duration of the regen and its potential healing—making it more possible to combat her total healing output.

Fuse

  • Upgrade – Wreckless: explosive damage is now reduced by 50% (was 25%)

Lifeline

  • Upgrades: Level 2
    • Tactical Cooldown+: removed
    • NEW Tactical Cooldown++: Tactical Cooldown reduced by 25s (making the cooldown time equal to its deployment duration, so you always have DOC)
  • Upgrades: Level 3
    • Gift Wrapped: removed
    • NEW Gold-Plated: next Package spawns with Golden Gear
      • EVO Cache, Gold Knockdown Shield, Gold Backpack
      • Also contains 1 Shield Battery, 1 Medkit, and either a Phoenix Kit or a Mobile Respawn Beacon

Dev Note: Gift Wrapped was a pretty strong choice that revived a lacking Support pick in higher levels of play. However, it didn’t feel entirely on brand for our combat medic and it led to some issues controlling the power spike and frequency of Care Package weapons. We’ve replaced this with a more deterministic draw for gold items that Lifeline can use to support her squad. Rapid Response was also a popular choice; let’s see if a cooldown-free DOC makes this decision more interesting.

Octane

  • Upgrade – Wreckless: explosive damage is now reduced by 50% (was 25%)

Pathfinder

  • Upgrade – Zipline Zen: damage reduction increased to 50% (was 25%)

Revenant

  • Forged in Shadows
    • Knocks no longer refresh the Tactical during Ultimate
    • Tactical Cooldown is no longer shorter during Ultimate

Dev Note: Revenant has been a powerful contender in Ranked for a few seasons. Agile Assassin was a cautious addition at launch, knowing the power of Revenant. However, it required too small of a window to take advantage of the minor charge-time improvement it gave to be viable, so it has been removed.

These changes push Seer to make a choice on his Ultimate early on, and then tap into one direction of his Tactical in the late game—which has been adjusted to hit more frequently.

NHL 24 Update 1.60 Hits the Ice for Version 1.6.0 This March 26

EA’s has pushed out NHL 24 update 1.60 (PS5 update version 1.060), which is for patch version 1.6.0. This brings changes to the UI, World of Chel, and even updates some uniforms.

Sony Announces “Community Game Help” Feature That Lets Gamers Get Help Directly From PS5 Users

If you sometimes think that you need help defeating a boss or finding a lost item or other dilemma in-game, Sony has just the thing, as the company announced the PlayStation “Community Game Help” feature that builds upon the “Game Help” feature that was launched way back in 2020.

With Community Game Help, players will now be able to access video that are generated from gameplay footage of players who have opted to contribute to this feature. This feature, which has no release date just yet, will be available to all PS5 owners with or without a PlayStation Plus subscription.

Aside from players, even game developers can contribute their own help videos.

Players can access Community Game Help by pressing the PS button to open the Control Center, look for an Action Card with the “Hints Inside” icon. Players will also see hints labeled with “Community Game Help” once it launches, and this indicates that the clip was generated from other players’ gameplay footage.

As for avoiding fake hints, players will also be able to rate the usefulness of these hints, that will allow Sony to curate informative help content.

Game Help is also accessible on the PlayStation App for mobiles and tablets, and based on what Sony implies, Community Game Help will also be available for those devices, and won’t take up any real estate on your gaming monitor or TV.

Bethesda has released Fallout 76 update 1.87, which is a major patch for the game that ushers in Season 16: Duel With the Devil! This brings a big change to the game, as it moves a scoreboard system to a Season Pass system. Alongside this, there are new rewards to earn and more! ATLANTIC CITY – AMERICA’S PLAYGROUND

When we last left the glitzy boardwalk of Atlantic City, we had run a deadly game show with the Showmen and even encountered The Family, the local organized crime outfit. Now, the leader of Atlantic City’s own Municipal Government, Mayor Tim, calls upon your help against an invasion of Overgrown. Can you fend off the dangerous plant-like beings encroaching upon Atlantic City in this all-new Expedition Mission?

FAMILY COMES FIRST – ALL-NEW QUESTLINE

Back home in Appalachia, players will embark upon a new multi-mission questline surrounding the glamorous Russo Family. Opening a new nightclub in Appalachia, the Russos hope to start a quieter – though still comfortable – life away from the rat race of Atlantic City. Sadly, that won’t be in the cards: As a deadly plot unfolds, players must uncover the skeletons (or perhaps devils) lurking in the Russo family’s closet in this new quest coming to Fallout 76.

EXPLORE THE BOARDWALK

Atlantic City – America’s Playground also expands upon Fallout’s take of post-nuclear New Jersey, allowing players to further explore the City at their own leisure or even take on new Side Quests. Meet with the local merchants and shop or even play part in passing on the torch within the inner circle of The Family!

SEASONS CHANGES

The Scoreboard is changing to a new and improved Seasons Menu! At the start of every new season, you’ll be able to view all the exciting rewards you can earn and even the rewards offered after rank 100! Rewards are displayed across multiple pages, which can be unlocked as you reach the required rank. Every time you rank up, you will earn 25 Tickets which can be redeemed for rewards on the pages you’ve unlocked. Just like with the Scoreboard, all you need to do to increase your rank is earn S.C.O.R.E. by completing challenges.

Please Note: Make sure you use all your tickets before the end of the season as unused tickets expire and do not carry over.

All players will have access to the base rewards in each season, just like the Scoreboard. Fallout 1st members will automatically have access to the Fallout 1st Season Pass which provides access to the premium rewards in each season. We’re offering something new with Season 16 – non-Fallout 1st players will be able to purchase the Fallout 1st Season Pass in-game with Atoms to gain access to these rewards.
Challenges and the S.C.O.R.E. required to gain a rank in seasons have not changed as part of this update and players can expect to make progress at the same rate as in the previous seasons.

  • Fixed graphical issue with Ultracite laser beams when using the Beam Focuser Mod.
  • Fixed an issue with certain Fasnacht masks not properly displaying in the Display Case.

  • Tax Evasion: Added caps icon for the Stolen Winnings when viewed in inventory menus.

Fallout 76 Down and Servers Offline for Maintenance This March 26

If you can’t login to Fallout 76, then you’re not alone. Betheda has taken the Fallout 76 servers down and this is for maintenance for March 26, as the studio ushers in Season 16: Duel With the Devil!

Unfortunately, same as before, there is no estimated time as to how long this server outage is, but we gather, it’ll take at least 2-3 hours (or even more) based on past maintenance outages.

R6 Siege Update 1.000.075 Drops for Year 9 Season 1.1 Patch

Ubisoft has pushed out (Rainbow Six) R6 Siege update 1.000.075, which is for the game’s Year 9 Season 1.1 patch that brings in various gameplay-related fixes. Don’t expect anything new in this update outside of improvements, as we just got the big Operation Deadly Omen title update earlier this month.

  • FIXED – Players can vault onto a cabinet located in 2F Tea Room on the Skyscraper map.
  • FIXED – Defenders detected outside in 1F Main Stairs on the Border map.
  • FIXED – Walls clip through the rooftop in EXT Bedroom Roof on the Villa map.
  • FIXED – Players can navigate onto a metal box located at EXT Sailboats on the Kanal map.
  • FIXED – Defenders detected outside between 1F Blue Room and 1F Joint Corridor on the Theme Park map.
  • FIXED – Players are able to navigate onto the top of stacked barrels located at 1F Barrel Room on the Theme Park map.
  • FIXED – Defuser can’t be retrieved after dropping it while exiting or entering rappel stance next to a railing in EXT Terrace Balcony on the Outback map.

OPERATORS

  • FIXED – Buck’s Skeleton Key doesn’t work as intended when pressing the fire key during the transition animation.
  • FIXED – Deimos’ DeathMARK gauge does not show the cooldown refill in caster mode.
  • FIXED – Deimos’ DeathMARK won’t activate right after switching targeted operators.
  • FIXED – Bandit’s Shock Wire persists when affected by EMP grenades.

USER EXPERIENCE

  • FIXED – Reputation values are inaccurate when a player has negative tiles with actions displayed in the Reputation tab.
  • FIXED – Rendering issue upon viewing the main and subcategories of the Locker.
  • FIXED – Navigation keys have no functionality inside the intro page of the Battle Pass.
  • FIXED – Unintended guard break animation occurs after stepping on a fire source when using a Ballistic Shield.
  • FIXED – FPS drops when players quickly pass over Operators in the Operators tab.
  • FIXED – Various UI issues.

Destiny 2 Taken Offline and Down for Server Maintenance This March 26

Bungie has taken Destiny 2 offline this March 26, so if you’re seeing down reports from players, this is the reason why. While there is maintenance being conducted on the game’s servers, there’s also a patch set to be released later which is version 7.35.3 on all platforms.

Destiny 2 Server Maintenance Schedule for March 26, 2024:

Tuesday, March 26, 2024 – Maintenance
6:00 AM PDT -7 UTC
    • Destiny 2 will undergo maintenance.
    • Sign-on and game integration features will be unavailable on web, mobile, 3rd-party apps, and the Bungie Store.
    • Players who observe issues should report to the #Help forum.
6:45 AM PDT -7 UTC
    • Destiny 2 will be brought offline for expected maintenance.
    • Players will be removed from activities and won’t be able to log back in until 10:00 AM PDT.
    • Ongoing Destiny maintenance is expected to conclude at 12 PM PDT.
10:00 AM PDT -7 UTC
    • The latest Destiny 2 Update will be available across all platforms and regions.
    • Players will be able to log back into Destiny 2.
    • Players logging into the game may be placed in a queue and may experience sign-on issues as background maintenance is still ongoing.
    • Clan features may remain offline until maintenance is complete.
12:00 PM PDT -7 UTC
    • Destiny 2 maintenance is expected to conclude.
    • Console players who encounter issues updating to the latest Update should restart their console and try downloading the Update.
    • Players who observe issues should report to the #Help forum.
