NBA 2K24 Servers Down This Jan. 31 Affecting Online Play (Update)

If you can’t connect to the NBA 2K24 servers, or you got kicked off a MyCareer match or online match, it’s not just you, as the NBA 2K24 servers are down on all platforms this January 31.

NBA 2K24 Servers Down for Jan. 31 Updates:

Update: 2K has issued a statement on the server outage (via the NBA 2K Discord):

We are aware of the connection issues affecting some players in NBA 2K24 and are currently working to ensure everyone can play. We will provide updates as we have them. Thank you for your patience!

Multiple reports have surfaced on the game’s subreddit just now:

2K servers are down again 😭
byu/prinzmeini1 inNBA2k

That error code is back
byu/texican360 inNBA2k

Looks like the servers are down. Again.
byu/TimoteoLaSala inNBA2k

And yes, more of those have surfaced, but you get the idea. So far, Visual Concepts nor 2K has shared anything about it so far. Hopefully, things will be resolved ASAP. Once we know more about what’s happening, we’ll update the article with the info.

If you can play right now, share which platform you’re on and where you’re connecting.

Judas New Trailer Features In-Game Graphics Captured on PS5

Ghost Story Games has released a new trailer for Judas, the single-player, narrative first-person shooter being crafted by BioShock creator Ken Levine.

Per the press release, the footage we see below is in-game, and is captured o the PS5.

More info via the press release:

The “Who is Judas” trailer offers a deeper look at the game’s setting aboard the Mayflower, a spacefaring city whose citizens are trained to tear each other apart for even the most minor infractions, and where machines control every aspect of business, art, and government. You, as Judas, are the driver of every event in a mysterious story with a new cast of characters to get to know – and to change – in a world where every decision you make affects how the story unfolds.

Judas still has no release date, but will be released on the PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.

Silent Hill The Short Message, a Free-to-Play Experience, Available Today on PS5

In today’s State of Play, we got a reveal of Silent Hill The Short Message, an entirely free Silent Hill experience. Immediately after the trailer, it was revealed that the game will be available to play later today on PS5.

You can view the reveal trailer below:

The experience seems fairly reminiscent of P.T. It features a young woman exploring claustrophobic hallways with a cell phone flashlight, and it brings plenty of spooky atmosphere that the Silent Hill series is known for. We’re itching to hop into the game and see how it fares, though there’s no word yet on how long the game is.

The game is also entirely free-to-play. We imagine that Konami is hoping to get Silent Hill fans amped for the upcoming Silent Hill 2 Remake, which currently doesn’t have a release date. Hopefully, we’ll get more details on that soon, though they did also show a gameplay trailer for it in today’s State of Play.

Silent Hill The Short Message is out today on PS5.

Silent Hill 2 Remake Gets New Trailer Featuring Combat, but Still No Release Date

Those thirsty for Silent Hill 2 news, there’s some good news and some bad news. While we did get a new Silent Hill 2 remake trailer at State of Play today, it didn’t come with a release date, sadly.

Check out the new footage where we see brief snippets of combat.

Latest Silent Hill 2 Trailer Revealed
Take a look at new gameplay footage in this trailer, including what to expect from the improved and modernized combat.

Having received a letter from his deceased wife,
James heads to where they shared so many memories, in the hope of seeing her one more time: Silent Hill. There, by the lake, he finds a woman eerily similar to her…

“My name… is Maria,” the woman smiles. Her face, her voice… She’s just like her.

Experience a master-class in psychological survival horror―lauded as the best in the series―on the latest hardware with chilling visuals and visceral sounds.

With the latest rumor stating it’s set for release sometime this year, hopefully, we’ll get a release date soon. Perhaps the game will be getting its own spotlight in another State of Play at a later date? One can hope.

Stellar Blade Release Date Announced for April 26 with New Story Trailer

In today’s State of Play, we finally got a Stellar Blade release date announcement alongside an extensive new story trailer. The game releases on April 26, and the trailer shared plenty of new gameplay details for us to get excited about.

You can view the new trailer here:

During the trailer, we learned several compelling gameplay details and features, which we’ll break down for you here:

  • Story and Plot – Stellar Blade takes place on an off-world colony following an alien invasion that forces humanity to retreat from Earth. Zion, humanity’s last city, is where the player, Eve, and her allies, Adam and Lily, will work to rebuild what was lost and fight off the invasion.
  • Questing and Exploration – Players can take on a variety of side-quests from the inhabitants of Zion via a special requests board. These missions will often take players to the Wasteland and Great Desert, sprawling, sandy environments full of dangerous enemies.
  • Upgrades and Items – In the wilderness and in Zion, players can find upgrade stations and vending machines that’ll allow you to gain new skills, buy consumables, and upgrade equipment. Each of these will help you grow stronger as you work to bring humanity back into the light.

All in all, the game looks pretty entertaining. It’s definitely giving serious Nier vibes. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this one as April gets closer.

Stellar Blade launches on April 26 exclusively for PS5.

Palworld Sales Surpass 12 million; Over 19 Million Players Since Launch

Another day, another massive milestone broken by Palworld, as Pocketpair Inc. announced new sales figures with other impressive numbers.

As revealed on the official Palworld Discord, Palworld sales have surpassed over 12 million units sold on Steam alone. Elsewhere on Xbox, the platform saw seven million players, totaling a whopping 19 million players across both PC and Xbox. Note that the Xbox figures are players played, not specifically units sold, as the title is currently part of the Xbox Game Pass subscription.

Palworld sales

Speaking of Game Pass, over on Xbox Wire, Xbox confirmed that Palworld had become the biggest third-party game launch ever on the subscription thus far. Wow!

Here’s what Pocketpair’s Takuro Mizobe, had to say about the achievement:

“The response from fans has been tremendous and it’s incredible to see the millions of players around the world enjoying Palworld. This is just the beginning for us and Palworld, and the feedback we’re gathering while in Game Preview will allow us to continue to improve the experience for Pal Tamers across all platforms.”

No doubt this success will continue to motivate the team, further improving Palworld and achieving roadmap goals. Let’s hope that a PlayStation 5 version is in the works

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League Giving Players $20 Worth of Luthorcoins as Apology for Server Issues

If you were one of the many who joined in on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League the moment early access went live in some regions, you probably didn’t get to play much, as the servers were quickly taken down to address a progression bug. While Rocksteady Studios previously issued an apology, those affected will be happy to learn that this apology comes with a bit of compensation…about $20 worth.

$20 Worth of Luthorcoin to Spend on Anything In-Game

As an apology to those affected by yesterday’s Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League downtime, Rocksteady Studios has sent out a message via the in-game mailbox kiosk that not only says they’re sorry but also gives you 2000 Luthorcoins.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League Giving Players $20 Worth of Luthorcoins Free as Apology for Server Issues Image

“Thank you for being one of our first console players during early access of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. We recognize that you’ve been patient with us during our initial launch server updates and we’d like to show our appreciation for your patience with a special gift of 2000 LuthorCoins. Thank you again! -Rocksteady ”

The mailbox kiosk is located right at the exit of the Hall of Justice for those trying to find it.

What Are Luthorcoins?

For those unaware, Luthorcoins is the name given to the in-game premium currency that can be used in the shop to buy cosmetics. Cosmetics range from character skins, color patterns, banners, and emotes. You’ll also be able to purchase the battle pass with these coins. The only way to earn Luthorcoins is via tier rewards in the battle pass. Otherwise, you’ll need to spend real money from your respective platform’s storefront.

Luthorcoins are available in bundles ranging from $5 to $50. 100 Luthorcoins equals $1, so 1000 Luthorcoins would be $10. That means Rocksteady has given select players $20 worth of coins to spend as they wish.

Not a bad compensation, though those cosmetic prices are pretty high. It may be wise to save the coins up for upcoming battle passes, as it should also include cosmetics.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is now available for Deluxe Edition owners. Standard editions will become available on February 2.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink Review – Clear Skies for the Skyfarers

It’s been over seven years since Granblue Fantasy: Relink was announced. In that time, the game has changed developers from PlatinumGames to Cygames, and for a while only bits and pieces of the JRPG adaptation of Japan’s popular mobile game were teased throughout the year. But, following a couple of preview events, things finally came together, and after multiple delays, we are finally on the eve of the game’s worldwide launch. Has the wait been worth it, or was Relink destined to flop, another victim of development hell the likes of which few games ever make it out from unscathed? The answer may surprise you.

A Whole New Sky

In Granblue Fantasy, you play as the captain of the crew of the Grandcypher, an airship which can take you anywhere you manage to sail in the skies. The captain can be either man or woman, and named whatever you wish, though the defaults are Gran and Djeeta, respectively, and you can switch their models later on if desired. While the story follows the Captain and a mysterious girl named Lyria, with all of the history they have together, it doesn’t matter if you’re familiar with the franchise at all because the story does a decent job of getting newbies up to speed in a short amount of time through various cutscenes. It also helps that this story takes place in a whole new Sky Kingdom, so while there are references to the lore that has come before, a lot of this is going to be new to veterans of the series, too. Relink is also a game that doesn’t overstay its welcome: with an estimated playtime of around 20 hours to get through the main campaign, this is one that doesn’t require you to sink a ton of time into in order to feel like you’ve accomplished something. You can probably double that playtime with the plethora of side quests and other missions that you can take on, so there is a good amount of other things to do for the completionists out there (online co-op is also an option but was unavailable during our review period).

Fate Chapters is a unique feature of Relink. For every character that is unlocked, bits of lore are dropped by reaching certain milestones such as progressing the story to a certain point, leveling up the character enough, or other conditions. These are mostly told through static cutscenes, with text overlaid as a full voice narration plays, usually involving multiple voice actors. By simply making it to the end of a chapter, that character’s stats get slightly upgraded. Certain Fate Chapters also contain quests, which reward something of greater value such as another sigil slot. But beyond the unlockable goodies, which are a welcome reward to reading lore, some of the game’s best writing surprisingly takes place here. Most of the characters you encounter on this epic adventure have backstories full of heroism, cowardice, tragedy, spite, jealousy, and many other emotions that will probably surprise you when you first read them. Cygames took no shortcuts fleshing out every single character this way, though considering the main Granblue Fantasy game has been running for nearly ten years, there is a lot of material to draw upon.

Good Looks, Fast Action

On the PS5, Relink looks great and plays smoothly. There are two graphics modes to choose from, as usual: Performance, which scales the graphics back a bit to prioritize frame rate, and quality, which targets a higher fidelity with a lower frame rate target. While this isn’t the most graphically intense RPG out there, the cel-shaded look fits nicely and the action remains consistent no matter how many enemies are on-screen. Load times are quick, with most areas ready in just a few seconds. There are not really any DualSense-specific features to utilize here, but then again as a JRPG there aren’t a whole lot of opportunities for such a thing anyway.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is an action RPG, where the action takes place in real-time. You can create a custom party of up to four characters, with the other three members whom you’re not controlling available as quite capable support. Their support really is crucial, as I learned the hard way when I accidentally undertook Djeeta’s first Fate Chapter solo, which is really my only gripe with Relink: at certain points, you may not have a full party, but the game doesn’t do much to alert you to this fact. For those who aren’t really here for the action, there is an assist option with two levels. One level will perform skills and other actions when it makes sense, while the Full Assist option has the game perform all actions for you, which is about as low-effort as I think could be possible in an action RPG.

Genre Staples Are Plentiful

Usual JRPG systems are here, such as buying and selling treasure, weapons, and equipment, along with a blacksmith who will happily level up your equipment for a price. As is common in many RPGs these days, equipment can only be leveled up so much before they must be uncapped, which will increase their overall rating while simultaneously increasing their level cap. This ensure a more even leveling system, whereby you’re not overly powerful early on in the game, and even on the Normal difficulty some of the missions present a good challenge where using well-timed skills in between regular attacks is key.

All characters have large, branching skills which can be unlocked across multiple categories by spending skill points. It’s easy to forget to upgrade these skills, which can hamper progress at certain points, though the game does remind you in the loading screens from time to time. Certain skills can be assigned to a face button, which are triggered by holding down the R1 button, and have cooldown timers. There are more skills for each character than there are face buttons, so part of the fun is in finding the right combination of skills to work in tandem with other party members’ abilities.

Combat is fun in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, if a little hampered by the auto-lock system. Pressing L2 will lock onto an enemy, but if you wish to target one behind you, you’re usually better off tapping the trigger again instead of trying to flick the right analog stick as the reticle simply moves to whichever enemy is closest to the already-targeted enemy instead of the immediate threat. This isn’t a deal breaker, and any attack you use usually has an area of effect which will hit nearby enemies, but it is a little clunky. Outside of that, though, fighting feels smooth, and moves are easily interrupted by pressing the dodge button, with bonuses for perfectly dodging or blocking incoming attacks.

A Satisfying Adventure

Special link time attacks can also occur, where characters team up and deal more damage together. Skill arts are what Relink calls combos, and as you keep bashing baddies, the level of your combo increases, which can help to deal more damage, sure, but it can also increase the effect of certain abilities, such as the Captain’s attack boost that they can buff themselves and their teammates with. If all party members are able to sync up, they can launch an ultimate Full Burst combo, which is the game’s hardest-hitting move. Overall, combat is fun, fast-paced, easy to understand, and satisfying to pull off.

I will admit, after spending some time with Granblue Fantasy: Relink across two different preview events, I wasn’t convinced Cygames had done much more than produce a by-the-numbers JRPG adaptation of their popular mobile and browser-centric franchise. But I suppose that’s the difference between being dropped into the middle of a game and starting from scratch. There are a lot of fully fleshed-out characters and systems to get used to and master, over a hundred different weapons to level up and upgrade, plenty of quests to undertake, and as much lore as most fans might be willing to sift through. Yet the main campaign doesn’t overstay its welcome. Relink also has a beautiful, if slightly technically underwhelming, look to the world. In short, Granblue Fantasy: Relink is a great JRPG, and even if you’ve never played Granblue Fantasy before, if you enjoy action JRPGs at all, you owe it to yourself to give this one a shot.

Score: 9/10

Pros:

  • Entertaining, fully-voiced story
  • Fate Chapters flesh out the many characters, and have surprising content depth
  • Combat is fast, mostly fluid, and fun
  • Hundreds of quests (many optional) to undertake

Cons:

  • Locking onto enemies can be more hassle than it’s worth
  • Graphically just okay, even if the art style is pleasant.

Alan Wake 2 Update 1.000.015 Scribbles Out This Jan. 31; New Chapter Select Feature Added

Remedy Entertainment has released Alan Wake 2 update 1.000.015 (Xbox version 1.0.0.15, PC version 1.0.15), which is a pretty massive update, adding new features, and bringing several fixes and improvements. Here are the patch notes for today’s Alan Wake 2 update.

Alan Wake 2 Update 1.000.015 Patch Notes | Alan Wake 2 January 31 Update Patch Notes

PlayStation 5 (1.000.15)
Xbox Series (1.0.0.15)
PC (1.0.15)

The first update of the year for Alan Wake 2 is out now. The update contains the Chapter Select function, allowing you to load up any mission you want. So, you can replay the We Sing mission over and over to potentially annoy your neighbors!

This will also make a life bit easier (and we know we’ve made it a bit complicated with some collectibles having to be picked up in a single run) for Trophy and Achievement hunters to get those missing items or collectibles.

The update also includes the much-requested option to tune down the horror flashes.

Thank you for your patience and the continued support of our game!

New Feature: Chapter Select

  • You can now choose to play any mission in the game that you have previously unlocked.
  • Using this feature loads a pre-made save game regardless of your own progression.
  • This means that item progression and inventory will be pre-determined depending on the mission.
  • You will keep your previous manual saves.

NOTE: Remember to keep at least one manual save with your previous progression if you wish to retain it.

New features

  • Added Chapter Select menu.
  • Added option to choose between Low and Normal horror flash visual and audio intensity.

Gameplay and missions

  • Fixed an issue in The Final Chapter (New Game Plus) where if the player already had Saga’s crossbow in their inventory, they could not complete/open all required Cult Stashes and thus couldn’t get the Lighthouse Key from the final Cult Stash.
  • Fixed an issue where the player could get stuck if they opened the notification about having finished watching the final Koskela brothers’ advert:
    • During RE09 Deerfest when you go to the Oh Deer Diner, the last Koskela commercial is shown and you are given a prompt that you can see it in the Mind Place, but if you press the touchpad as instructed to view it in the Mind Place, nothing happens, and your controls are frozen. The issue remains until you reload the last save.
  • Fixed an issue where the player was not able to collect all the clues around Nightingale’s body.
  • The objects required for the Overlap ritual in RE03 Local Girl can now only be picked up after the player finds their respective clues.
  • The 10th Echo Scene after meeting Casey in the alley now unlocks properly.
  • Players now receive the Coffee World Mug Charm in the The Final Chapter (New Game+) instead of a duplicate Hammer Charm.
  • Fixed the camera perspective on opened Cult stashes, so the note on the lid is now legible.
  • Additional fix for the Cynthia profiling not being available if the player exits the diorama too quickly in the Nursing Home.
  • Resolved an issue in RE05 Old Gods where players could pick up the fuse in the basement from a locked container without solving the attached combination lock puzzle.
  • Propane tanks will no longer reappear after reloading the game in Watery. Less explosions, less fun, but a smoother game.
  • Gave Saga a chance to gain more resources in the RE10 Come Home mission in the subway station.
  • Added missing descriptions for some case files in the Case Cabinet in Saga’s Mind Place.
  • Fixed a multitude of issues with Meta Case clues.
  • Added descriptions for cases that are in progress to the Case Cabinet files.
  • Igniting a flare while hiding in Safe Haven will now be seen as a hostile player action and collapse the Safe Haven if enemies are nearby.
  • Fixed an issue with the player camera occasionally “micro jittering” when rotating the camera in Prologue.
  • Removing the fun. It’s the beginning of the year. Explosions will no longer deal damage through doors.
  • Prevent players from accidentally boosting the flashlight and wasting batteries when picking it up.
  • FBI Service pistol and Revolver now deal enough damage to make cultists’ masks fly off with one, carefully aimed shot. F*ck yeah!
  • Curtain Call. Not the best album. Fixed curtains being incorrectly closed in the Theater Hall in some instances.
  • Fixed an issue where the crossbow with double-barrel upgrade was not being holstered properly.
  • Saga’s phone conversations can’t be interrupted by switching the Flashlight on and off anymore.
  • The item pickup indicator has been re-tuned, so the indicator should be more easily visible now.
  • The player can no longer run off the ledge behind the Monitoring Station in Cauldron Lake.
  • Fixed an issue where Fadeouts in the Poet’s Cinema Theater would sit in the air or inside of the theater seats. That was too spooky.
  • Fixed a, well, uh, issue with a rogue boot moving along the Cynthia boss fight arena.
  • Fixed an issue in IN05 Room 665 where items from a Tim Breaker’s stash could be picked up through the wall in Room 101.
  • Fixed an issue where the wolves would get killed instantly by approaching the cliff at the Radio Tower in Watery.
  • Fixed an issue where the player could get stuck in Norman’s room in the Bright Falls Nursing Home.
  • Fixed an issue where the doors at the Bright Falls Wellness Center kept opening at the wrong time. It’s not spooky season yet.

UI

  • [PC] Added preview images for most tweakable settings in the graphics menu.
  • Add per-chapter counts for found Manuscripts in the Mind Place.
  • Fixed UI layout issues with localized content in the Case Board, computers, and inspectable items.
  • Fixed month names so they display correctly on save game UI.
  • Fixed the Options menu scroll position not to resetting when quitting the Options menu with the start button on controller.

Audio and haptics

  • Re-tuned haptics on the “key events” such as weapon firing and reloading, using the Light Shift mechanic, burning off Source Points and using the flashlight.
  • Added audio to the ancient computers in the Bright Falls Sheriff Station.
  • Added audio for impacts when the Espresso Express hits the player. Don’t try it please. Coffee World is in enough trouble as it is.
  • Cassette eject sound added to Mr. Drippy.
  • Added TV static audio to the Nursing Home TV Safe Haven location.
  • Fixed an issue where the TV tape selection in the Writer’s Room was not triggering any sound effects.
  • Fixed an issue in RE08 Summoning where a Tank enemy weapon played the wrong weapon audio.
  • Multiple fixes for the Nursery Rhymes audio.
  • Improved the audio quality for crouching footsteps.
  • Improved the audio performance during the RE08 Summoning mission across all platforms.

Visuals

  • General visual polish.
  • Fixed an issue where an enemy became partially invisible when seriously wounded.
  • Fixed the vegetation not always reacting to explosions in a cool way.
  • The wind has picked up in Coffee World.
  • Made the basement of the Valhalla Nursing Home more atmospheric, with a lot of added dust.
  • Turned off Safe Haven indicator during the Scratch fight in the parking lot.
  • Improved waterproofing of the Elderwood Lodge. It should not rain indoors anymore.
  • Fixed the Hunting Knife being scaled up when Alan picked it up.
  • Fixed missing lighting on some narrative items.
  • Improved the quality of shadows in various off the beaten path locations in the forest.
  • Fixed lighting pop-in in some locations.
  • Fixed some abrupt color grading changes in Watery.
  • Reduced shimmering around windows inside Suomi Hall in Watery.
  • Reduced shimmering inside the Elderwood Lodge in Bright Falls.
  • Lighting improvements in off the beaten path areas in Watery.
  • Fixed Alan’s wild shirt glitching in some cinematic sequences where Alan is sitting down.
  • Improved animations for Saga’s scare reactions while running.
  • Fixed some animations restarting when toggling the flashlight.
  • Fixed the player character so they use arms as expected while running just after picking up items.

General

  • The SDR brightness setting now affects UI and 2D videos correctly.
  • Fixed maximum display luminance being outdated in Brightness calibration menu.
  • [PC] You can now tweak the FOV (Field of view) in the UI.
  • [PC] Improved DLSS Frame Generation stability for Alt-Tab.
  • [PC] Resolution is clamped correctly to the maximum supported resolution.
  • [PC] Made the warning message about there not being enough physical memory and allow the game still to start a lot more serious.
  • [PC] Mouse button icons now correctly reflect the Windows primary button setting in the UI [PC].
  • [Xbox Series] Fixed a threading issue that could lead to rare crashes.
  • Subtitle fixes.

Performance (aka the Northlight flex section)

  • [PC] Changing the graphics settings is now… snappier.
  • [PC] Optimized shadow map rendering saving up to 0.3ms in the Dark Place.
  • [Xbox Series] Optimized point and spotlight culling, shaving off 0.3ms in locations where lights are aplenty.
  • [PlayStation 5] Optimized UI rendering when there are a lot of UI elements on screen, such as when the Inventory is visible, resulting in smoother performance.
  • Optimized character controller code for improved CPU performance, saving up to 1ms – 2ms in locations with dense geometry.
  • Lighting optimizations inside the Overlap in RE01 Invitation saving 1ms – 1.2ms for smoother performance.
  • Lighting optimizations around the Valhalla Nursing Home during RE05 Old Gods saving 0.3ms – 0.4ms.
  • The good kind of lighting and fog optimizations around Watery that didn’t result in downgrading the visuals.
  • Slightly optimized texture memory usage. Slightly.

That’s a big, unexpected update!

With “Cycle Stations with Button Press”, effortlessly switch between radio stations by simply pressing the Radioport button without the need to open the Radio menu. Enable “Save Current Station” to have the Radioport resume playing the radio station upon loading a saved game.
  • The data window that appears when scanning will no longer default to the “Hacking” tab rather than “Data”. Instead, it will now remember which tab was open last.
  • Fixed an issue preventing players from changing cyberware at Ripperdocs and seeing the Cyberware Capacity bar.
  • Added a pop-up message for when it’s not possible to activate Sandevistan during holocalls.
  • Like the non-Iconic variants, Iconic quickhacks will no longer have the duration displayed in their descriptions.
  • Made small improvements to the appearance of Net sites.

Visual

Vehicles

  • Tire track marks will now match the actual contact patch of the tire.

  • Motorcycle suspension has been improved to reduce visual clipping into roads and curbs. Braking is also improved. Some vehicles, including cars and trucks, will now better handle landing from big jumps.
  • Brake Torque Vectoring has been added to the Drive Model simulation. This change effectively reduces understeer on vehicles that previously used to suffer from it excessively when hard braking while turning (most noticeable on FWD and rear/mid-engined vehicles).
  • Retuned or improved tuning in various vehicles. This includes: Mizutani Hozuki MH1, MH2 and “Hoseki”, Villefort Deleon V400, V410 Coupe and “Vindicator”, Thorton Colby CST40, Mahir Supron FS3-T, Chevillon Centurion 1000, Quadra Type 66 “Hoon”, and more.
Implemented various small changes to improve drifting in most vehicles:
  • AWD vehicles now apply power through their front differentials more smoothly when exiting Burn Out Mode induced drifts (check out our Driving Manual in the Database for more info on those).
  • Dynamic Stability Management was adjusted to engage more smoothly after Burn Out Mode drifts.
  • Most mid-engined cars’ Burn Out Mode implementation has been polished to induce more easily and overall feel better, including the Rayfield Caliburn, Quadra Turbo R, Herrera Riptide, etc.

PC-specific

  • Added a Hybrid CPU Utilization setting, which can be found under Gameplay → Performance. It can be set either to “Auto” (lets the operating system automatically decide how to distribute threads among the cores) or “Prioritize P-Cores” (prioritizes performance cores). It is set to “Auto” by default.
  • Implemented a fix that improves performance, especially on AMD RX Vega GPUs.

Misc

  • Added the CrystalCoat feature which allows you to change vehicle paint color. Because this technology was developed exclusively by Rayfield, it is currently only available for Rayfield vehicles you own.
  • Controller Inner Dead Zone has been changed to new default values for players who didn’t change them, as keeping the old default values could result in stick drift.
  • Fixed an issue where the door in the Megabuilding H10 apartment wouldn’t automatically close in some cases.

REDmod

  • Updated the address list for modders.

Assassin’s Creed Origins Update 1.61 Drops Unannounced

Ubisoft has pushed out a new Assassin’s Creed Origins update 1.61 for download to all platforms, and this is a minor patch, so don’t expect any new content given the game was released years ago.

Assassin’s Creed Origins Update 1.61 Patch Notes:

Size: 120MB (PC)

While Ubisoft hasn’t said anything about the patch, according to the steamdb entry (via S@D S@CK) this is for language updates.

Yep, that’s about it. I mean, it’s been years since the game launched, so this isn’t surprising to see.

The latest Assassin’s Creed game — AC Mirage — is still getting updated, with the last one released two months ago.

No word yet on the next major Assassin’s Creed reveal, but once we know more, we’ll let our readers know.
