Nivalis TGS 2023 Trailer Showcases Noodle Stand, Greenhouses, and Fishing

505 Games unveils a new Nivalis trailer, offering a glimpse of the game’s diverse activities within its open world. It’s a life simulation game, though one with a serial killer on the loose.

In Nivalis, you are free to choose your journey, whether it’s operating your own noodle stand, managing a greenhouse, or embarking on a fishing adventure by boat. Your survival and choices are entirely in your hands. However, it’s worth noting that there is a serial killer lurking, so staying vigilant is crucial – after all, you wouldn’t want to die before achieving your ultimate goal.

Here’s a brief introduction by 505 Games:

Grow your business, manage restaurants and nightclubs, make friends and enemies, buy and decorate apartments, go fishing and maybe even find love in Nivalis, the city that stretches from the ocean to the clouds.

With its captivating visuals and engaging gameplay, Nivalis has been getting attention from life-sim players. We can only hope that it lives up to the expectations when it hits the market next year for PC.

Capcom Dives Deep Into Dragon’s Dogma 2 Gameplay With 9-Minute Video, Gameplay Details Listed

As part of their Tokyo Game Show 2023 conference, Capcom has released an all-new Dragon’s Dogma 2 gameplay video, giving us a deep dive into not only the combat but also classes, monsters, and more!

Dragon’s Dogma 2 Gameplay Video – Tokyo Game Show 2023

A full breakdown of the above gameplay video can be found below.

  • Have up to three AI-controlled pawns
  • Choose from 4 starting Vocations (can be changed or combined later)
  • Two main kingdoms: Vermund (human kingdom) and Battahl (beast kingdom)
  • Hunt large monsters like Trolls and Griffins
  • You can grab onto them and climb to reach their weak spot
  • Full day/night cycle. Exploring at night is especially dangerous. Pitch-black darkness returns, and stronger monsters appear at night.
  • Bring camping kits to camp out at campsites
  • Advanced vocations combine aspects of the four main classes.
  • Magick Archer: Combines the healing of a Mage with the long-ranged attacks of the Archer (returns from the first game)
  • Confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam (no release date)

Our thoughts? Looks like Dragon’s Dogma 2 is shaping up to be a stellar follow-up to the original Dragon’s Dogma, as the sequel seems to be trying many things that the original wanted to have but couldn’t. The gameplay looks a lot smoother, with plenty of improvements seen throughout the gameplay video. We do wish they talked more about some of the newer mechanics, as well as the vocations, but we suppose we may get a deeper look at those during the special 50-minute Dragon’s Dogma 2 event happening this Sunday.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles, though at the time of writing, it currently has no release date.

Thanks, Okami!

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and Like a Dragon: Ishin Announced for Xbox Game Pass

Exciting announcement for Xbox Game Pass users, as Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, and Like a Dragon: Ishin are coming to the subscription service. RGG Studio’s Director, Masayoshi Yokoyama, shared this news and offered insights on the upcoming titles during Microsoft TGS 2023 stream.

Having every Yakuza title available on Xbox Game Pass made the absence of Like a Dragon: Ishin a notable gap, so it’s great to see the spin-off joining the service as well. Moreover, the addition of Like a Dragon Gaiden completes the Yakuza series’ presence on the Xbox Game Pass once more.

For those who might have missed out earlier, now is the perfect opportunity to dive in, as the entire franchise will be at your disposal through the Game Pass subscription.

Like a Dragon: Ishin will arrive on the Game Pass by the end of 2023, while Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will be available upon its launch on November 8, 2023.

This is the game of the year, maybe more than that.”

Meet Your Maker Sector 2: Shattered Peak Coming September 26; Details Listed

Behaviour Interactive has revealed the next major update for their PvP base-building game. Meet Your Maker Sector 2: Shattered Peak launches in less than a week with a nice handful of content.

Keep reading for the breakdown on everything you can expect from this next update.

Meet Your Maker Sector 2 Details:

meet your maker sector 2

This handy new infographic shows off all of the biggest pieces coming to the game’s new sector. We’ve also got some additional details from today’s press release:

Chilling New Content

Sector 2 enhances the game’s co-op and single-player experience with a bone-chilling new environment for players to immerse themselves in, a Deco Pack with textures and colors previously unseen in Meet Your Maker, and much more. The new environment and Deco Pack will be instantly available for free for all players.

  • New Environment: Shattered Peak – Deep in the desolate Arctic wastes lies the Shattered Peak Sanctuary. Once a bastion of science and technology, a contaminated GenMat shipment caused its residents to turn on one another, using their deadly creations to tear the Sanctuary apart from the inside.
  • New Deco Pack: Ice – A Deco Pack inspired by the Artic wasteland. Blocks of ice, frozen metal, thermal heaters, fluttering tarp, and a decal set featuring the markings of a northern shelter provides chilling new possibilities for Builders.
  • New Custodian: Overseer – Equipped with the latest technological advancements, this suit allows the wearer to slowly glide after jumping. Its powerful Biolinks can reveal the location of the Harvester Path, Forsaken Tombs, and nearby resources.
  • New Guard: Assassin – The Assassin is a hunter that relies on stealth to ambush its target. With a stealth field based on Holocube tech, it remains nearly imperceptible until it unleashes a devastating dash attack. Once you see it, it might already be too late.

Raiding 2.0: Expeditions

Set to launch in late October 2023, the forthcoming Expeditions will let players embark through a brand-new map system, arming them with game-changing enhancements. This innovative update will redefine the raiding experience, putting more control in the hands of the dedicated community.

  • New Expeditions Map – Players will progress their Expedition by raiding other player’s Outposts, choosing their path and unlocking powerful rewards along the way.
  • Unlockable New Enhancements – Powerful, game changing abilities can be unlocked along the way, enabling players to customize their approach to raiding.
  • Exclusive Cosmetics and Decals – Unlock never before seen skins and decals for Raiders and Builders.
  • Empowering Players – The introduction of Expeditions will offer players more control over the type of Outposts they would like to raid.

Sector 2: Shattered Peak drops into Meet Your Maker on September 26. To get a refresher on what the last content drop brought to the game, click here.

Hauntii Hands-On Preview – Haunting and Shooting Through Eternity

Hauntii is the most bizarre twin-stick shooter that you will play in a lifetime and beyond. Reducing Moonloop Games’ work to such label would be doing it a disservice, though; this is the kind of adventure that is more of an experience than what your standard game design offers, a journey through an abstract minimalistic world with few words, where images and actions speak louder. There are puzzles to solve and an intricate haunt mechanic to possess parts of the environment and characters in a bid to ascend and to discover more of your past. But is it hauntingly addictive?

A Ghost Story

The short demo that we played gave us a good idea about the potential of Hauntii to reach cult hit status, revealing much of what it has in store while paradoxically leaving us with even more questions than when we started this adventure. This is as far as it could be from your traditional action game, skillfully blending genres in a way that sometimes defies explanation and shatters expectations.

Hauntii, our little ghost finds himself stuck in Eternity without any recollections or a new purpose, and must roam this surreal place to learn about his past and discover a way to ascend. Something that in only a few minutes seemed like a real prospect swiftly turns into disappointment, as his newfound friend, an Eternian, suddenly vanishes. This is the motto for a trip to the unknown and the ominous, roaming through places that are as mysterious as they can be creepy.

Hauntii Hands-On Preview

The hand-crafted world is filled with meaning, both hidden and in plain sight, and promptly moves beyond the fleeting idea of a game with quirky visual design but devoid of interest. It’s charming, touching, passionate, with a hauntingly beautiful soundtrack that hits hard precisely during the most poignant moments.

Walking in this otherworldly landscape isn’t the same as us, mortals, are used to do. The path isn’t entirely linear or obvious, requiring some attention to safely move around, often tasking you with crafting your own way. Straying farther from solid ground will make the music go increasingly creepy and the screen starts to fade into oblivion, taking one of your lives in the process.

Shooting works in two very different but complementary ways – one is for taking out the evil organisms that you find along the way, the other to possess a piece of the environment or a friendly creature. So far, Hauntii seems to strike an enjoyable balance between action and puzzle solving, with a pace that allows you to breathe between battles and endows you with more than enough time to wrap your head around the riddles.

Hauntii Hands-On Preview

Possessing something may be crucial to solve a puzzle, like those stone monuments right at the start of the adventure. Interactions may vary for each object and so do the results, being up to you to analyze the clues and reach the conclusion: is this a valuable option or am I just wasting time? Not everything is straightforward in this peculiar world filled with odd landscapes and eccentric inhabitants.

The purple droplets that you pick up from destroyed mushrooms and other parts of the scenery are your haunting fuel, so to speak; in other words, your ability to act while possessing something or someone is limited to the amount of these collectibles, encouraging you to find more if you want to continue experimenting with this remarkable and vital skill.

Eventually you’ll find other items to progress in the adventure. Some of these are used to build constellations, which will take you into different places to help connect the pieces from Hauntii’s past.

A Journey in the Afterlife

Hauntii Hands-On Preview

Hauntii is shaping up to be one interesting and offbeat indie game, a wild ride through a very different world with impressive artistic vision and unconventional gameplay mechanics. The short demo ended as we were starting to meet more denizens in this eerie place, finding more puzzles and possibilities to fully explore the potential of the haunting mechanic. The excitement was abruptly cut short and the only thing that remains is memories of the exquisite art style, emotional music, and the loose narrative that seems to be purportedly assembled to hide those secrets until the very end.

In other words, Hauntii may be something meaningful like Journey and other games where emotions abound, and the outcome may resonate more with some players than others. One thing is certain, we left it with a hauntingly positive impression and can’t wait to see more of this sinister and mysterious world.

MP1st was given access to a preview build of Hauntii for our hands-on session. Hauntii launches on 2024 for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Fall Damage Confirmed, Can Be Toggled On and Off

Insomniac Games has confirmed that there will be fall damage in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, though it’ll be off by default.

A feature that was absent from the first game (but featured in past Spider-Man games), Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will introduce fall damage for those looking for a more authentic experience. However, it’ll be entirely optional, with it set to off by default, as Senior Programming Director Doug Sheahan confirmed in a recent statement to IGN.

“Something we’re seeing more and more of is that players like to be able to customize their experience,” Sheahan explained. “For those players, we added the ability to enable fall damage (fall damage defaults to Off) and even let people tweak how swinging feels with our Swing Steering Assist setting. We hope players who enjoy a deep dive into the details have fun experimenting.”

In related Spider news, it was announced yesterday that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has officially gone gold! This means that the likelihood of a delay is near to none, as the title is locked in for its October launch. Yay!

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 swings out exclusively on the PS5 this October 20.

Cyberpunk 2077 Creepy Family Photo Stealthily Fixed in Update 2.0

The next generation of chooms won’t ever get to experience the awful and possibly, poorly photoshopped picture of River’s Family, which featured NPCs in odd poses and a random stock image of a teddy bear, as the latest patch for Cyberpunk 2077 has stealthily fixed that creepy family photo in the game.

Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.0 is now out, bringing with it some new features and several fixes. However, one thing that wasn’t mentioned in the lengthy 2.0 patch notes is that CD Projekt RED has gone back and fixed one of the game’s most jarring moments. That is the photo you get from River Ward’s sister after completing his quest. A picture that, while meant to be a heartfelt moment, did the exact opposite as Ward’s family is awkwardly posing in it, with each staring out into the void of nothingness, and a teddy bear, which was clearly a stock image from somewhere else.

Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update has now fixed this photo (as spotted by the Reddit community,) replacing it with a new proper picture of the Ward family.

They did it, they changed River photo!!!
byu/sherlotka-2137 incyberpunkgame

Yeah, I know, it’s a minor change when you look at all the other stuff introduced in the new update, but hey, it’s nice seeing CD Projekt RED go the little extra mile and in the process, acknowledging that the original didn’t look good to begin with.

We’re sure there are plenty of other stealth changes that CD Projekt RED didn’t mention in the new update’s patch notes, though we’re curious if they added any new secrets. With the update only being a few short hours old as of writing, we’re sure the community will discover more and more hidden changes. Should anything major arise, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Till then, have fun in Night City 2.0! Oh, and if you haven’t already, be sure to give my Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty review a read, in case you’re still on the fence about it. Later, chooms!

Modern Warfare Update 1.67 for September 21 Removes Warzone Functionality

Infinity Ward has released Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 1.67, and this is probably one of the last title updates to the game. Curious what’s new? Read on for what the Modern Warfare patch notes for September 21.

Modern Warfare Update 1.67 Patch Notes:

Ironically, this patch doesn’t really add anything new but instead, removes the original Warzone from being playable.

Reddit users have reported that the main menu has reverted to the original one before Warzone was launched, though everything else remains the same. No bugs were fixed, and heck, even the Warzone music background is still in the game, though players can’t access it anymore.

Per Reddit user LuizMW_Reborn, the long list of bugs that weren’t fixed by Infinity Ward can be seen here, and they confirm that these have remained untouched with today’s update.

The size of the game on pc is still the same if you have everything installed (165 GB).

All Warzone assets related to Cold War and Vanguard are still in the game files, i suspect that even Caldera wasn’t deleted from the files, they just hid it from the main menu, they didn’t even bring back the original MW main menu music (this one: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Main Menu Music – YouTube), when you boot up the game, the Caldera music still plays.

The Warzone background is still in the game, you can see Cold War and Vanguard guns in the Armory, operators, Vanguard Prestiges are still there and the message “Welcome to the Pacific. Drop In, Rise Up!” still pops up in the text chat.

Sadly, that’s about it. We’re not expecting anything tangible from today’s update outside of the Warzone client removal. If you see anything worthwhile from this patch, leave a comment below and let us know.

As for what’s new, Activision has revealed the Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone Season 6 new content incoming next week, which you can read about here.

Modern Warfare II Overview:

  • Nintendo Switch (TV Mode) – 1920×1080 resolution @ 30 FPS
  • Steam (PC) – 1920×1080 resolution @ 30 FPS

Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

  • PlayStation 5 – 1920×1080 resolution @ 60 FPS

  • Steam (PC) – 1920×1080 resolution @ 60 FPS

Sadly, no platform offers 4K resolution of any kind, which is surprising, considering how old the titles are and how the PS5, Xbox Series, and PC versions are more than capable of running it at a much higher resolution. Metal Gear Solid is locked at 30 FPS across all platforms.

Perhaps an update will come later for the mentioned platforms, though we’re sure modders on PC will quickly increase both the resolution and frame rate caps.

Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol.1 will be released on October 24 for the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

The Division 3 Announced by Ubisoft: Division 2 Creative Director Returning as Executive Producer

In what might be the most lackadaisical way to announce a sequel to a widely beloved game, Ubisoft confirmed plans to develop The Division 3 as an aside in a news post about The Division Brand’s new Executive Producer. This news comes just ahead of the launch of The Division 2’s Year 5 Season 2 update.

Julian Gerighty, the former Creative Director of The Division 1 and 2, is currently the Creative Director of Star Wars Outlaws. In the news posted directly on Ubisoft’s website, the company confirmed that Gerighty will be returning to the franchise as Executive Producer of The Division Brand. He will also be “setting his sights on Tom Clancy’s The Division 3,” according to the same post.

Here’s the pertinent information directly from the page:

After joining the team at Massive Entertainment – A Ubisoft Studio and shipping the original in 2016, he moved to Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 as Creative Director, where he and his team crafted a new adventure in the summertime streets of Washington, D.C. Now, he’s setting his sights on Tom Clancy’s The Division 3, as well as the plethora of other projects set in The Division universe, including the mobile game Tom Clancy’s The Division Resurgence, and the survival-action shooter Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland.

A core focus of Gerighty’s is to build a team for Tom Clancy’s The Division 3, which will be led by Massive Entertainment, while making sure Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 remains well supported. Outside of that, his attention will be on a solidification of brand identity.

“We may have over 40 million players, but The Division is still in its early years as a franchise. There are so many incredible stories to tell, places to explore and people to protect. “

A key throughline, Gerighty stresses, is that every single expression of The Division needs to be of the highest quality. “I think that we delivered that with Tom Clancy’s The Division’s cutting-edge visuals, incredible gameplay, and promise to the player that they can’t get this experience anywhere else, and then again with Tom Clancy’s The Division 2. It’s about refinement, it’s about pushing the quality bar consistently forward.”

The post calls out The Division Resurgence and The Division Heartland by name, meaning that these games aren’t what they’re referring to when they say The Division 3. It’s mind-boggling that Ubisoft would unveil such a big game for themselves in such a casual way. Regardless, the announcement is sure to thrill franchise afficionados.

The Division 2 recently surpassed 20 million players, so there’s clearly still plenty of love for the post-apocalyptic shooter RPG. We’ll make sure to let you know everything we can about The Division 3 as soon as we get more information.

What do you think about the way Ubisoft announced this game? Are you excited to get your hands on it? Sound off in the comments.

Dying Light 2 Roadmap for Fall and Winter 2023 Includes Co-Op Missions, Raids, and More

Fans of Techland’s zombie parkour game have been clamoring for some new content, and it looks like Techland is listening. Today, we got our first look at the Dying Light 2 roadmap for Fall and Winter 2023. It includes new co-op missions, a raid, and even some interesting crossover events.

Dying Light 2 Roadmap for Fall and Winter 2023:

Techland was kind enough to provide a handy little infographic for all the updates we can expect to see over the coming months:

dying light 2 new content

Did we mention that all of this content is free? There’s a bunch to see here, so let’s break some of it down.

Co-Op Missions and Raids

Until now, players have only been able to engage in regular story missions through co-op, acting as background characters to the host’s main story. With dedicated co-op missions, players can hopefully expect something more intentionally designed to support multiple friends. The depth of these missions remains to be seen, but it’s something to look forward to.

Part of these co-op missions include a new co-op oriented tower raid, which acts sort of like a dungeon-based mission. If it’s anything like other raids, survivors will have to work together to complete puzzles and defeat difficult enemies in order to get their hands on quality loot. We’d love to see some parkour challenges included in the tower.

Guns, Guns, Guns

Players were severely disappointed by Dying Light 2’s lack of firearms upon release, especially considering that the first game had loads of guns. Techland is finally looking to remedy that with an update that will bring bullets and boomsticks to Villedor. Keep your eyes peeled for that sweet, sweet shotgun.

Crossovers and Events

For spooky season this year, Vampire: The Masquerade will be swooping into Dying Light 2 alongside a dedicated Halloween event. Following these, For Honor will make an appearance in Villedor in mid-November. Finally, zombie slayers will have the opportunity to get festive with the Winter Celebrations event sometime in December. Techland also teased a 2nd Anniversary Event for the game, which we can assume will take place in February 2024.

Quality-of-Life Improvements

In between all the big updates, we’ll continue to see steady improvements made across the board. Weapon repairing, new outfits, higher difficulties and weapon rarities, finishers, and community mods support are just a handful of the neat new updates coming to Dying Light 2. The future is looking good.

If you remember, it took the original Dying Light a couple of years to really hit its stride. Dying Light 2 looks to be taking the same road, as all of these updates really make the game look good. We’re excited to get our hands on them when they drop in the next few months.

When we reviewed Dying Light 2 last year, we gave it an 8.5/10 called it an experience that “stands out amongst the crowded zombie genre.” You can check out that review here.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 Patch Notes, See All the Changes Here

CDPR has released the big overhaul to Cyberpunk 2077 today! Go read up on everything new including the skill trees, new police system and more in the official Cyberpunk 2077 update 2.0 patch notes!

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 Patch Notes:

Size: 6.9GB (PS5), 41GB (PC)

COMBAT

New Police System

  • The NCPD will chase you when you commit a crime, whether on foot or in a vehicle.
  • The types of units in pursuit and their behavior will depend on your NCPD Wanted Level. These chases can include various NCPD vehicles, roadblocks and MaxTac swooping in with AVs.
  • The NCPD will now be present in the world, actively patrolling the streets of Night City. Officers working at crime scenes will now also engage in pursuits.
  • You can now hear NCPD radio chatter through the radio.
  • It’s now possible to quickhack NCPD officers.

Vehicle Combat

  • Added the option to engage in combat while driving a vehicle from either first-person or third-person perspective. While driving, you can use pistols, submachine guns and health items. Some vehicles come equipped with mounted weapons. Melee combat is possible on motorcycles.
  • Vehicle tires can now be shot or slashed.
  • Introduced new Perks that unlock a variety of vehicle-related abilities such as quickhacking vehicles, increasing collision damage, boosting vehicle weaponry, allowing the use of Sandevistan and Kerenzikov cyberware, and the ability to exit moving vehicles quickly and stylishly.
  • Vehicles vary in durability. Vehicles equipped with CrystalDome technology receive additional protection.
  • You can now encounter AI-driven and randomized chases between different factions in a given district.

Combat AI Enhancements

We made numerous improvements to enemy AI, including:

  • Various enhancements to enemy netrunner AI.
  • Improved NPC reactions to grenades and their use of grenades.
  • Improved NPC reaction time when flanked.
  • Faster detection by enemies when you’re walking or sprinting.
  • Enemies equipped with Sandevistan cyberware will now activate it to counter a player who uses their own.
  • Enemies that don’t hear a silenced weapon but do notice the bullet impact will now properly investigate the source of the gunshot.
  • Made improvements for scenarios where a group of NPCs can join another group in combat against you.

Netrunning Changes

  • Added Perks to expand netrunning capabilities. For example, a new Overclock mode allows you to upload quickhacks by consuming Health if you have insufficient RAM. You can also acquire the ability to queue multiple quickhacks on a single enemy.
  • Rebalanced RAM costs.
  • Rebalanced damage and upload time. Changed the effects of some quickhacks.
  • Removed the option to use Breach Protocol on enemies.

Other

  • Health Items and grenades now have a limited number of charges that recharge over time after being used.
  • Stamina is no longer drained outside of combat for actions like sprinting, sliding and jumping. Stamina is drained when firing ranged weapons or attacking with melee weapons. Stamina cost varies by weapon.
  • Improved the Aim Assist feature.
  • Rebalanced the base game’s main boss fights.
  • Introduced Armor Penetration for the base game’s main bosses.
  • Removed the one-hit kill protection from civilians.

PERKS & SKILLS

  • A complete Perk tree overhaul. These trees now contain fewer perks, but impact gameplay in a more meaningful way. Progressing in a given Perk tree will allow you to unlock special abilities such as Overclock mode for netrunners, Bolt shots for Tech weapons, the Adrenaline Rush ability for Body-focused character builds, and so on. Because we introduced extensive changes to the Perk system, your spent Perk points on existing playthroughs have been refunded. You can also choose to reset your Attributes once. Feel free to redistribute these Perk and Attribute points to suit your preferred playstyle before you continue playing.
  • We merged the previous Skills into five new ones – Headhunter, Netrunner, Shinobi, Solo, Engineer. These are not restricted by their corresponding Attribute’s level. On existing playthroughs, your progression on old skills has been transferred to their new counterparts. Skills unlock new passive buffs every 5 levels, and can be leveled up to a max of 60.
  • Removed the option to reset all Perks at once. Instead, it is now possible to refund each Perk individually for free.
  • Introduced new kinds of progression shards: Attribute Shards, Carrying Capacity Shards and Cyberware Capacity Shards.

CYBERWARE

  • Armor is now provided primarily by cyberware. As a result, clothing’s purpose is mostly cosmetic. Clothing items no longer have mod slots, and only some items provide bonuses.
  • The number of cyberware implants your body can handle is now determined by your Cyberware Capacity.
  • Cyberware implants are now Attuned to specific Attributes – the higher the Attribute, the stronger the stat bonus.
  • You can now upgrade cyberware on the ripperdoc screen.
  • Some Cyberware slots can be unlocked by acquiring specific Perks.
  • Added multiple new kinds of Cyberware.
  • Visiting ripperdocs is now more immersive. When getting cyberware installed, you sit on an operating chair and experience different animations depending on the type of implant.
  • Added a side quest introducing the new cyberware system for players who load an older save on the 2.0 update.

WEAPONS

  • Changed the unique effects of some Iconic weapons to better reflect their distinctive features.
  • The “first equip” animation can now be triggered at any time.

– PC: Hold B or double tap Alt while the weapon is holstered.

– PlayStation: double tap △ while the weapon is holstered.

– Xbox: double tap Ⓨ while the weapon is holstered.

  • Added smoke grenades.
  • Added new melee weapon Finishers.
  • You can now find a Thermal Katana in the game.
  • Added new weapon mods and reworked some existing ones. Once installed in a weapon, mods are irreplaceable.
  • All obsolete weapon mods will be removed from the game. In their place you will find new, random weapon mods in your backpack. The quality of any mods added this way depends on your level.
  • Removed the silencer slot from Revolvers.
  • Removed the scope slot from Light Machine Guns.
  • Implemented a new way to craft weapon mods. To craft a mod, you must first have 2 mods of lower quality.
  • Expanded the stash wall in V’s apartment to display all of the Iconic weapons from the base game.

VEHICLES

Traffic

  • NPC vehicles can now switch lanes to avoid obstacles.
  • Pedestrians will now try to avoid running into moving vehicles.
  • NPC drivers are now better at avoiding you when you are on foot.
  • Improved braking, acceleration and suspension of cars in traffic.
  • Some NPCs now might react aggressively when you hijack their vehicle.
  • Various improvements to traffic density depending on time of day and night, resulting in more realistic traffic behavior.
  • Driving with a quest-related NPC in your vehicle no longer disables traffic in the occupied lane, resulting in the feeling of a busier city.

Other

  • Fixers will no longer text you about vehicles up for sale. You now purchase vehicles via the AUTOFIXER netpage on V’s computer or by using terminals located in gas stations and repair shops throughout Night City. To find these, enable the new Autofixer filter on the world map. Vehicles are sorted by manufacturer. The vehicles equipped with built-in weaponry have photos marked with a special icon. As you earn more Street Cred, you will unlock more vehicles for purchase.
  • Added new user settings to help configure vehicle camera and controls. You can now also choose between three different third-person camera distances when driving a vehicle.
  • Added a new “Driving” category and Driving Manual to the Database.

We implemented various changes and tweaks to vehicle performance and handling:

  • New speed-sensitive steering applies to most vehicles. The max turn speed and radius adapts to different vehicle speeds better than before.
  • All engines have torque curves now, which reflect the engine’s character and any power modifiers (e.g., supercharger, turbo, hybrid, etc.). Some adjustments and balancing have been made to vehicle acceleration and top speeds.
  • Conducted a full pass on adjustments to braking force. For slower vehicles it has been dramatically increased, and all stopping distances were measured and adjusted as necessary.
  • All vehicles react better to rough terrain and impacts with curbs, meridians, etc. Vehicles feel “heavier” now, as we have improved how we apply gravity as the suspension moves.
  • Many vehicles were fully retuned or their tuning was heavily revised.
  • Multiple other small improvements.

BALANCE & ECONOMY

NPCs

  • All NPCs now scale to your level. Enemy difficulty is no longer dependent on what area of Night City you’re in.
  • Enemies will have different tiers depending on the faction they belong to.

  • All resistances for regular NPCs have been removed.

Loot

  • Loot now scales to your level.
  • Removed excessive findable loot in the game, such as loot that distracts from scenes and quest locations.
  • NPCs no longer drop clothing.

Crafting & Upgrading

  • Crafting and upgrading now require only one type of component instead of multiple types.
  • Replaced old rarity levels (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary) with Tiers (from Tier 1 to 5++).
  • Apart from cyberware, now only Iconic weapons can be upgraded. They gain a higher Tier with each upgrade.

Vendors

  • You can now access the Wardrobe feature through clothing vendors.
  • Vendor stocks scale with your level, expanding as you reach a new Tier.
  • Updated vendor stocks so that each has a more distinctive theme and specialization.

  • Adjusted the prices of weapons, cyberware, apartments, clothing and more.

The option is available in Settings → Graphics in the NVIDIA DLSS section. DLSS 3.5 is only available if Path Tracing is turned on. To make sure DLSS Ray Reconstruction works correctly on your PC, update your NVIDIA Game Ready Driver to version 537.42 at minimum.
  • [AMD SMT] Introduced a new AMD Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT) switch located in Settings → Gameplay → Performance. It allows you to set SMT to Off (only physical cores), On (all logical cores) or Auto (ensuring the performance average across different locations and situations in game is optimal). This change was implemented in cooperation with AMD and is based on tests conducted on both sides.

STABILITY AND PERFORMANCE

  • Apartments will now give smaller buffs.
  • Updated the Characters tab in the Database to include more side characters.
  • Added new niches to the Columbarium.
  • Added Ukrainian text localization.

PC-SPECIFIC

  • Updated PC system requirements. A SSD is now required to run the game. More information can be found here.
  • Added support for NVIDIA DLSS 3.5, which introduces DLSS Ray Reconstruction, a feature that improves the quality of Ray Traced effects. A GeForce RTX graphics card is required.
  • The Crowd Density setting has been moved from the Gameplay tab to the Graphics tab. Additionally, Crowd Density is now tied to Graphics Quick Presets and will change depending on the selected preset, but it can be customized independently if needed.
  • As PC system requirements have been updated, running the game on an SSD is now a requirement on Steam Deck.
  • Updated Steam Deck graphics profile for improved frame rate stability.

CONSOLE-SPECIFIC

  • Changed the target upscaling resolution on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 in Performance Mode from dynamic 4k to dynamic 1800p for improved performance and image quality.

Outside of base game’s massive update, the big content drop everyone is waiting for is for the Phantom Liberty DLC, which is out this September 26. Curious about it? Go read our extensive review right here.
